Weirdos, gods, ninjas and more weirdos!Cast

"'A story of coexistence, fantasy, humor and weird gods, says the author. A story of weird people sharing household, blatant rip-offs of characters, complete lack of imagination, and boobs, says one of our characters.Who will you believe in?''"
— Official description in Tapas.io.Original

Dioses y Otras TonteríasEnglish  is a Spanish webcomic written and illustrated by author Zeentury. It combines slice of life, fantasy, action with a peak of eldritch horror and sci-fi, with a heavy focus first on comedy and humor. Also Fanservice.

The story follows two roommates called Emy and Cris, with the former being a tough brawler girl who loves fighting and beating up common thieves and criminals, and the latter being an evil schemer who always ploys something behind Emy's back thanks to her wicked mind. They live alongside Emy's big brother, Baldo, in a city of Spain.

The two wake up one day only to find an Eldritch Abomination called Ctully show up out of thin air in their house, claiming to be a god capable of endless destruction. With Cris adopting him as a pet and Emy having to deal with both while she struggles finding a job, their lives are turned upside down as they quickly run into more and more bizarre trouble, snowballing more once Cris calls on a ninja clan to ambush Emy with an epic battle and involving all of them into an endless affair with ninjas, zombies, a propane deliveryman, demons and even a full blown martian invasion,

The webcomic is rather infamous for its explicit adult themes, with often uncensored nudity shown or sexual themes shown as part of the narrative, as it also explores Emy's intimate love life with the ninja leader Gen, though its use for comedy or drama do ground it back into having a proper narrative to follow.

Originally published in the now defunct Subcultura in March 11th of 2012, the webcomic had to move after that site's closure, the webcomic can be read censored here, but it's unfortunately stuck in Spanish for now.

This webcomic contains examples of:

  • Action Girl: Emy lives by this trope, as she always craves for a great fight even against lowly criminals or thieves, and is such a brawler in spirit that she struggles finding a job thanks to always jumping into action while working.
    • Pretty much every main female character minus Mónica or the martian princess qualifies. Cris on the other hand is more on manipulating others to fight for her.
  • Action Dad: As seen in flashbacks, Emy's dad is incredibly tough and a proud fighter, much to the chagrin of his wife. To the extreme his wife talks of how he was destroying killer helicopters on top of the taxi when going to their daughter's birth.
  • Alien Invasion: Ctully ended up calling on one during the Zombie Apocalypse, but they got lost trying to find Earth. They find it eventually about 200 chapters later and the invasion begins for real.
  • All Men Are Perverts: A good amount of male characters are very horny for the two main leads, which often ends with Emy kicking them to the curb, although a select few have walked out of the beatdown and asked for more.
    • Pepe the Propane Man in particular is a Dumb Muscle who's always used to every woman he visits to fall for him, and acts like a pervert towards Emy, who quickly falls in love with her thanks to her strong punches.
    • Cris loves exploiting this on any man who comes across her, usually to control them to her whim or force them to fight to the death for her.
  • All Women Are Lustful: Cris is a very perverted lady, as she constantly likes taking the more lewd meaning of things whenever a new situation appears at hand, particularly with Ctully or trying to reel in other girls to practice her perverted thoughts.
    • Played with Emy, as she's the more serious of the two and would rather find a steady job or money than to party wildly like her friend, but she treats fighting just like sex, where she gets a better mood depending on how good the fight was, as she constantly looks for a tough enough man to prove her he's strong. She ends up falling in love with Sensei Gen due to this.
    • Played straight with almost any woman that Pepe encounters, as they tend to fall for him easily, even demons from a hellish realm.
  • Animesque: The artstyle lends itself to this for the main character designs, although shocked expressions derive far more from western newspaper comics than anime. Some of the secondary characters look more like comic strip designs than Animesque though.
  • Art Evolution: Sensei Gen debuts looking just like any of the other ninjas in physique, but gets redesigned later on to look more muscular.
  • Ascended Extra: Very extreme example, as Sensei Gen was only shown as another one of the Ninjas in his debut after Emy was done fighting all the ninjas, and looked just as scrawny as any other. During the invasion to the club he becomes the main face of the Demonios Implacables ninja clan, and even gets Promoted to Love Interest as Emy's lover.
  • Attack Animal: El Señor Pollo turns into one of these after Cris puts him through a very dangerous training, quickly turning into Cris' bodyguard and being very lethal, holding guns, bombs and even a rocket launcher.
  • Be Careful What You Wish For: Baldo accidentally wishes to Ctully to make the apocalypse involve zombies, vampires and martians instead of promiscuous ladies (as Ctully got the idea from watching Sex and the City). Soon enough they all get invaded by the undead at the club as he quickly regrets it.
  • Brain Food: The zombies try to eat the brains of the people at the Pineapple Club, but they lose their appetite after the two geeks Jaime and Mateo start arguing over whether 28 Days Later had zombies or not. In the zombie's words:
Zombies: Poop brains!
  • Bruiser with a Soft Center: Emy loves beating up criminals and is usually very tough, but she's got a soft spot for saving pets or kids, but especially for protecting her big brother Baldo.
  • Catchphrase:
    • Cris loves saying "I like trying new things!" or "Alcohol and Sex!" when encouraging Emy to try out stuff or go out to party.
    • Sensei Gen hates having to repeat "Asco de Día"English
  • Cerebus Rollercoaster: Despite the comic having far more serious stakes and moments in later arcs, its tone doesn't switch nearly as much as it'll gladly step again into comedy in the middle of a serious fight.
  • Conservation of Ninjutsu: Taken very literally, as Emy is easily capable of taking on an entire army at once, shown very well near the start as she defeats a squad of 30 ninjas with her fists alone.
  • Cult: Ctully accidentally creates one when he tried making hamburgers, as they ended up as talking food who worship him. Ctully mentions this happens often.
    • The two talking burgers somehow get to convert the zombies into their cult, making them want to eat heretic brains.
  • Cut and Paste Comic: Played with, as it uses this artstyle method but uses a lot of unique props, expressions or clothing for one-off scenes to mask this tool.
  • Demiurge Archetype: The Goddess of Lies is later revealed to be a human using the spirit of the goddess in the martians arc.
  • Eyes Always Shut: Cris almost always has her eyes closed to pretend innocence... and for good reason, her glare is fierce.
  • Fanservice Costumes: Cris tries to coarse Emy into trying these, to the latter's chagrin.
  • Female Gaze: Attempted by Baldo to the audience, but the girls tell him he most likely scared any female fans off.
  • Forced Transformation: Ctully can turn anyone he considers as a pest into a ficus plant. They remain sentient and don't appear to turn back.
  • Boob-Based Gag: An animated panel of the Martians arc manages to use this.
  • Gamer Chick: Word of God stated that both girls are fans of videogames, but this isn't shown in the work itself. Emy prefers fighting games, while Cris prefers games with playable villains.
  • Good Angel, Bad Angel: Emy gets two of these when she's debating on rescuing Crucifer from the martian army, though both still encourage her to kick the aliens' ass in agreement.
    • Then there's Cris' angel, who... has both demon horns and tail alongside the angel wings and halo. Mind you, Cris is nowhere near the scene so that just shows how much she can meddle in people's minds.
  • Gratuitous Mariachi Band: El Señor Pollo is summoned from thin air by Ctully to answer Cris' wish and prove he has powers. He's a chicken dressed as a mariachi that quickly turns into Cris' pet and personal bodyguard, and the only words he can say is quoting La Cucaracha.
  • Gratuitous Ninja: The Demonios Implacables ninja clan starts out like this given there's no reason for a clan to be on Spain, but they quickly turn into main characters.
    • Their clan has so many factions that are basically any type of job or floor combined with the prefix of ninja: Ninja lawyers, Ninja Pool, Ninja Aquarium, Ninja Daycare, Ninja Videoclub, Ninja Fashion Store, Ninja Italian Restaurant, Ninja Gym...
  • Hammerspace: El Señor Pollo can fit an endless amount of grenades, rocket launchers and gatling guns all inside of his sombrero.
  • Homage: Lampshaded to no end with Ctully, an obvious Expy of Ctully, with the narrator always insisting Ctully to be a homage rather than a rip-off whenever a character accuses him of that, always citing Superlópez and Superman.
  • Hot Men at Work: This is how Pepe the Propane Man gets to hook up with so many ladies, as he's inspired by the classic myth of El Butanero (Spain's equivalent to Cheating with the Milkman as detailed in that page).
  • Identical Panel Gag: When Cris is telling the ninja Ramón that she can let him slide down her panties very slowly... he's being so slow he hasn't even slid them down a milimeter by the end of the chapter.
  • Improbable Weapon User: Pepe is a propane deliveryman with a very well-built physique, who's able to life whole propane tanks with one hand, as he uses them in combat against any chance. He even boasts he comes from a line of Propane Man Templars!
  • Law of Conservation of Normality: Things are relatively normal despite the fact Emy is sharing the house with Ctully now, whose Reality Warping powers cause a lot of trouble to them every once in a while, given she still has to look for a job despite all the endless shenanigans she's stuck in. It's hard to define normal here though, given she's lived with Cris her whole life and the fact she gets involved in fights a lot.
  • Long-Runners: The comic started in March of 2012, and is still getting updates in 2023.
  • Look Behind You: Inverted, as when Emy is fighting Lady Akuma, she explicitly tells her: "Don't look behind you! There's nothing there!", with her foe turning around on instinct and losing the fight with one of Emy's blows.
  • Marshmallow Hell: Lady Akuma does this on Lord Makai to convince him to marry her, a trick she apparently learned from Cris.
  • McNinja: The two ninja clans don't have any affiliation with Japan as they're just settled in Spain. After receiving a cease and desist letter from Japanese ninjas in fact, Gen and Lord Makai fight back by using their ninja lawyers to force them to swap the name ninja with "little pajama jumpers".
  • Mr. Fanservice: Pepe wears a very tight tank top that shows off his well built muscles, and his physique can drive any of the ladies in the comic crazy.
  • Ms. Fanservice: Emy and Cris fall into this, with the latter being the more encouraging one of the two, usually liking to show off or involve Emy into embarrassing situations.
  • Mundane Fantastic: Ctully quickly gets this treatment as Baldo is far more shocked with his two roommates' personalities than with the Eldritch Abomination he lives with. ...Granted, Ctully lazes around so much he quickly loses any sense of menace and has to remind everyone he's a potential threat.
    • Nobody seems to be surprised whenever any of the people that Ctully's turned into a ficus shows up at a social event.
  • Mundane Made Awesome: After Emy sold off most of the ninja weapons of the Demonios Implacables, Sensei Gen is stuck mostly with an Albacete Razor, which quickly turns into his most used weapon with how versatile it is with his techniques.
  • Naughty Tentacles: What Cris imagines upon first seeing Ctully, always citing "Tentacular orgy!". Turns into a running gag of hers whenever she sees a set of tentacles.
  • New First Comics: The earlier chapters of the comic had a rough start with very low-quality pages, later on they'd be remastered to fit the later look of the comic.
  • Ninja School: The Demonios Implacables and Dragones Asesinos clans teach ninjitsu to their respective members, but... Demonios is so diverse that a good majority of them don't do actual ninjitsu, and the Dragones just picked a bunch of random street criminals and dressed them up in red to build their ninja army.
  • Overly Long Name: El Señor Pollo's full name is "Pollo vestido de mariachi que canta La Cucaracha." [[labelnote:English]]Mariachi-Dressed Chicken that sings La Cucaracha
  • Patchwork Kids: Judging by one flashback chapter, Emy took more after her father's brute strength and red hair, while she took after her mother's bad attitude. Baldo has his mother's brown hair and the more naive mind of his father.
  • Privilege Makes You Evil: Implied with Cris, as she's the rich daughter of the mob boss Kissbane, and she's easily far more cunning and manipulative of the main cast.
  • Rasputinian Death: Sensei Gen is stuck having to carry a mafia boss as part of an execution movie he's been ordered to record for, who manages to tank many brutal propane hits from Pepe, a direct explosion, and an entire fight between the two, to the point he's begging to die. He only dies with a gruesome enough death to not show on-screen, as the other two ninjas are horrified.
  • Reluctant Fanservice Girl: Emy always ends up in this position thanks to Cris' plans.
  • Right Behind Me: When Sensei Gen is warning his troops of Emy at the club, he keeps warning them of how tough and brute she is and that she's a monster... only to slowly realize she's cracking her knuckles behind him, ready to beat him up.
  • Secret Art: Exaggerated, as Sensei Gen is called the Ninja of Ten Thousand Techniques, but they end up incredibly specific, ridiculously diverse or both.
    • Parodied even further with Ramón, given all of his techniques involve stealing underwear from his targets, from snatching panties without them noticing, to stealing a mass amount of trunks from an entire crowd to shoot them out as a giant ball of undies.
  • Sex Comedy: A good majority of the conflicts or events are started because of sexual antics or resolved with it, prioritizing Rule of Funny over anything.
  • Snarky Non-Human Sidekick: Calling Ctully a sidekick may be pushing it with how much he stays at the couch, he's definitely the one with the most snark in the group with how little the others respect him.
  • Suspiciously Specific Denial: When Cris asks Emy in the first chapters if Ctully is some old boyfriend, Emy denies immediately.
Emy: I've never dated with someone sick enough to cosplay... as a squid... that's green!
  • Technicolor Ninjas: Parodied, as when the Demonios Implacables are assaulted by their rival clan, they have the advantage when they turn off the lights, as the enemy is wearing red instead of black.
  • The Cuckoolander Was Right: When a bunch of TV technicians arrive to the Demonios Implacables' dojo, Lady Akuma thinks they're a rival ninja clan who came disguised to attack them in stealth. She's right.
  • The End of the World as We Know It: As a god of chaos and destruction, Ctully lives by this, always wanting to end the world with the only limit he has is his lack of imagination. One day he got bored there was nothing on TV and simply blew up the Earth, then quickly hit a Reset Button because he found that apocalypse very boring.
  • Tomboy and Girly Girl: Emy fits the former to a tee with her far more brute attitude and being a tough brawler. Cris on the other hand is far more feminine, but just as lethal thanks to her mind tricks (and her pet Pollo).
  • Too Kinky to Torture: Pepe is one of the only men who'd been able to walk away from Emy's punches and survive just fine, to the point he straight up feels pleasure with Emy's fists and even got in the way to block all of her punches by pure instinct, accidentally protecting her enemy.
  • Tsundere: Emy is this towards Sensei Gen, always acting bitter towards him but always trying to get his affection despite it all.
  • Unsound Effect: When Sensei Gen uses his Albacete Razor, it has a unique "¡Tajo!" sound to it, which is just "Cut!" in Spanish.
  • Unusual Euphemism: When the japanese ninjas' cease and desist letter fires back, the sensei curses with:
Sensei: What honorable offspring of the most virtuous of the Geisha. Huh?
  • Victoria's Secret Compartment: Cris often hides El Señor Pollo in her cleavage as a secret weapon.
  • Webcomic Time: Played very straight, as the first arc alone takes place in only a single evening, but it went from June of 2012 and ended at March of 2013.
  • Xanatos Gambit: Cris loves plotting and planning ahead of everybody else, often to the point she has backup plans for everything, listing up to Plan R even. In just the first arc, she hired a bunch of assassin ninjas to attack her best friend and cheer her up with an epic fight, getting her in the mood to go out to party, making sure the ninja clan foolishly plotted revenge against Emy, coarse the god of chaos into unleashing a mini-apocalypse and scare her friend into drinking more booze to control her easier, look for a candidate among the ninjas and reckless destruction to give her friend somebody to bed with. Even in following arcs she makes sure to turn things around so any outcome was successful to her (or move the pieces herself if needed).
  • Yaoi Fangirl: Cris boasts that she is one, to the point she enjoyed seeing Pepe kiss Lord Makai.
  • Zombie Apocalypse: Ctully spawns one over the Pineapple Club after he tricks Baldo into telling him of a way to practice his world ending powers. He summons zombies alongside vampires and martians (but the latter don't get to arrive until much later).
  • Zombie Apocalypse Hero: Baldo asks Ctully to turn him into one when the zombie apocalypse breaks out. He ends up getting a girlfriend in Mónica after he saves her from one.
