"Life is what happens when Mom kicks you out."

A comic about an old house, a geek, a cute transvestite, a tall lesbian, and several ghosts - with guardian angels, personal demons and not-so-alien aliens featuring in later storylines. Found here (occasionally NSFW). Can pretty much be considered over. The author has suffered multiple strokes and has beenhospitalized for some time now.

Tropes:

  • Alien Abduction: Four times so far to Ace - the first time he woke up and caused havoc, the second time he was recruited specifically because he caused havoc the first time. Again to reap the rewards of what he did the second time. and once by hostile aliens who deposited him in North Korea.
  • Blazing Inferno Hellfire Sauce: Ace is a fan of these. To the point one of them actually caused Hazmat to be called as everyone else in the building eye's were watering.
  • Cats Are Magic: All of the kittens can see supernatural beings and Shinobi helped rescue Ace from one.
  • Disappeared Dad: Ace's Father Turns out it was Larry. Him and Ace's mother were both in the Air Force together. However Larry was several times more arrogant and she left him. He even admits he was a real piece of work and his arrogence wound up getting him discharged from the Air Force as he lost a leg and you can't be a military pilot missing a leg.
  • Fate Worse than Death: Lady Si was threatened with this: "One is embedded alive in a giant diamond the size of a large coffin, like a fly in amber, and put on display. It's not fatal to an Eternal. As long as there's sufficient ambient energy, the nano-machines keep us alive and aware."
  • Forgotten First Meeting: The latest addition to Ace's Unwanted Harem is a very tall Ainu girl who ran away from home because she was always being mocked for her size, determined to find the only boy who'd ever called her pretty - a young Gaijin boy she'd found after he'd become lost back in Hokkaido, and helped to find a police-box. Cue the revelation that Ace had gotten lost during a trip to Hokkaido with his mom when he was a kid, and had been helped by a pretty redhead...
  • Gods Need Prayer Badly: Some spirits can become Astrals by having enough worshipers. Losing those worshipers causes them to die.
  • Green-Skinned Space Babe: 8 year old Ace meet several Orion females and met them again 8 years later (conveniently, males aren't trusted to be let loose on deck) - although their green skin is due to ingesting pills which replace melanin with chlorophyll.
  • Haunted Headquarters: The house the main cast lives in practically attracts ghosts, not just those who lived there, but from the nearby cemetery as well.
  • Head-Tiltingly Kinky: The girls found something on "Ace's" computer.
  • Human Outside, Alien Inside: Inverted. Orions look alien, with their green skin and antenna, but are homo denisova (separated from Terra for a few thousand years) and the antennae are cybernetic, connected to a neural implant.
  • Idiosyncratic Episode Naming: Several chapters have themed page names (e.g. Sting songs, games).
  • I See Dead People: Ace is able to see ghosts. Jaz and some others are able to sense them, but not as strongly.
  • Incompatible Orientation: Rocky and Carly used to date. It's implied that this is the reason it didn't work out. Luna still hasn't given up on Carly either, despite the fact that he's a gay transvestite. Rocky and Carly eventually resume their relationship. Jaz and Maddie, at first, until the latter makes some personal discoveries.
  • Jacob Marley Apparel: Ghosts appear in what they died in. Souls however (there's a difference here) appear naked.
  • Mama Bear: Ace's Mom. It's implied she destroyed the homeworld of an alien race called Saurians because they endangered her boy.
  • Ooh, Me Accent's Slipping: Rocky slips in and out of her southern drawl. At least until her grandfather calls her out on it.
  • Out of Time, Out of Mind: Happened numerous times to Ace, to date four times on-screen and unspecified times off-screen.
Gina: He can start an international incident in his sleep.
  • Pretty Freeloaders: Pixie at the beginning. To the point she says that Ace can't stay in her room.
Carly: Pixie. You don't live here.
  • Running Gag: A few
    • Ace nearly falling asleep just for a ghost to wake him up.
    • Maddie catching Ace in a compromising situation with another girl.
    • Ace turning his back to avoid seeing naked females (especially his mum) in the hot tub.
    • Ace's nuclear grade hot sauce.
    • (Police) Officer Sharron Friendly almost always being the officer to turn up. Needless to say, it's eventually Lampshaded.
  • Teen Genius: Luna's uncanny ability to marry research, observation and speculation to form hypotheses. May be bordering on Genius Ditz.
  • Unwanted Harem: Ace's is made up of an heiress supermodel, a psychic/nurse/stripper, a policewoman, a ghost who later becomes his guardian angel, that ghost's great-granddaughter, and his pregnant (not his) ex-girlfriend from high school, half the crew of an alien spacecraft, two former yakuza princesses, one of whom stabbed him and is now his bodyguard for life. Lampshaded by Carly here.
