Guild Master of the Ministry, Vanilla is a powerful Sorcerer. She is also a younger sister of Valerius.
  • Alliterative Family: Names of her and her brother start with "Va" letters.
  • All-Powerful Bystander: Being the Guild Master of Ministry, she's one of the most powerful players in Magnolia Online. That being said, she doesn't pay much attention to what happens in her Guild or game.
  • Everyone Has Standards: She hates elitists and despises Diederich for that. Still, she lets him fight in a tournament.
  • Hidden Depths: Despite not caring about events in the game, she was the first one to discover Albright's involvement in recent events and even found out about his plans.
  • Put on a Bus: She disappeared after the end of Season 1.
    • The Bus Came Back: She returns in Season 4 to help the players fight Ministry of Light. She will likely have more prominent role in upcoming Season 5.
  • Transplant: She debuted in author's previous work, Magnolia Online, along with her brother.

Officers

    Diederich

Diederich Bellerose

One of the leaders of the Ministry and a Knight. He's also the abusive brother of Risa.
  • Abusive Parents: His parents force him to study most of the time. Not having any friends, he started playing Magnolia Online.
  • Badass in Distress: Augustus traps him in VR zone. He escapes with a help of Allen and Alexandra.
  • Big Bad: Of Season 1.
  • Big Brother Bully: He abused Risa for years after their parents ended their friendly relationship and forced him to study.
  • Big Damn Heroes: He saves Risa from Landor and beats him to a pulp.
  • Brought Down to Normal: In Season 4, Augustus Albright took his Artifact away from him, which weakened him.
  • Curb-Stomp Battle: During Whitehaven Tournament, he immediately defeats Silvia and Elili with one blow of his sword.
  • Dumb Blonde: Subverted. Many players, like Christos or Fileas, view him like that, but he's anything but an idiot.
  • Dumb, but Diligent: He's not exactly stupid, more like average. However, his parents force him to study so hard that he barely has time for anything else.
  • Dumb Muscle: Invoked and subverted. Fileas and Christos constantly call him stupid, but he's not an idiot and really has a great knowledge because of his costant forced studying.
  • Even Evil Has Standards:
    • He absolutely hates Risa's Femme Fatale attitude.
    • He is utterly disgusted by Landor's cruelty and sadism.
  • Freudian Excuse: His parents force him to study most of the time, while Risa had more freedom, which made him bitter and spiteful.
  • Graceful Loser: After Risa defeats him during the tournament, he apologizes to her and promises to uninstall Magnolia Online.
  • Hair of Gold, Heart of Gold: He's quite a jerk in his debut, but he really does care about Risa.
  • Impaled with Extreme Prejudice: During their tournament fight, Risa pierces him with giant sword Artifact.
  • Jerk with a Heart of Gold: At the beginning of the series, he acts terrible towards Risa. However, he really does love her and care about her, as seen when he saves her from Landor.
  • One-Man Army: His Artifact of Strenght gave him an enormous physical power.
  • Parental Neglect: Similarily to Risa, his parents only care about his grades.
  • Put on a Bus: He stopped appearing after Season 1.
    • The Bus Came Back: He returns in Season 3 and starts playing Magnolia Online again in Season 4.
  • The Scapegoat: One of the four players accused of game crash.
  • Sibling Rivalry: With Risa in Magnolia Online.
  • Slut-Shaming: Similarily to Florence, he constantly offends Risa for her Femme Fatale attitude.
  • Superpower Lottery: Similarily to Florence, he has an Artifact of Strenght.
  • Took a Level in Kindness: After his defeat, he became much nicer to Risa.

    Valerius

Valerius

A Knight of Ministry. He's an older brother of Vanilla.

    Francis

Francis

An Archer (later Knight) and the officer of Ministry.
  • The Dragon: To Valera, after she joins Ministry of Light. He hates it.
  • Faux Affably Evil: At first he seemed like a Nice Guy who freed Valera from Einhard and even visited her in hospital. In the next moment, he mentally abuses her and puts her under pressure of not failing her task - if she fail, she'll be kicked out of Ministry.
  • Four Eyes, Zero Soul: He was manipulating Valera to gain more power.
  • Hate Sink: Let's see. Selfish, ungrateful, manipulative bastard who blackmailed Valera. No wonder all fans hate him.
  • Hypocrite: He despises Einhard for using Valera to his own purposes, but does exactly the same thing after he takes her away from him.
  • In the Hood: He wears a hood as a part of his outfit.
  • Kick the Dog: He won't miss a chance to offend Valera or threaten her.
  • Lesser of Two Evils: Like Einhard, he's a Manipulative Bastard only interested in manipulating Valera, but he's a little better than the former. A little.
  • Manipulative Bastard: He manipulates Valera to better stats of himself and Ministry.
  • Pet the Dog: Sometimes, he encourages Valera or cheers her up... only to offend her in a moment.
  • "The Reason You Suck" Speech: Gives one to Einhard after taking Valera away from him. Too bad he's not any better.
  • Ungrateful Bastard: After Valera became an officer in MOL, she promoted Francis to her lieutenant, despite his manipulations. He hates her for that.
  • White Hair, Black Heart: In game, he has silver hair and is a Manipulative Bastard. Subverted in real life, where he has black hair (the manipulative bastard part stays the same).

    Einhard

Einhard

A member of Ministry and a first person that manipulated Valera.
  • Good Scars, Evil Scars: His avatar has a few scars on face.
  • Hate Sink: He literally has no redeeming qualities. He's manipulative, selfish arrogant bastard who used an Ill Girl to his own, egoistic purpose.
  • Manipulative Bastard: He had been using Valera as his private weapon until Francis ended this. Not that it helped her.
  • What Happened to the Mouse?: He appears only in Valera's flashbacks and it's unknown what is he doing now.

    Valera

Valera

"Burn them all."
A Priestess of the Ministry. She can control world boss - dragon Egoron.
  • Affably Evil: She is always polite and friendly towards everyone.
  • Anti-Villain: A Well-Intentioned Extremist type. She genuinely believes that Ministry of Light is doing the right thing and creates the better world. She's also a Nice Girl, doing Necessary Evil and nothing more.
  • Apologetic Attacker: During her second battle with Florence, she apologizes.
I'm sorry, Florence. But it's over.
  • Barrier Warrior: As a Priestess, she is able to create a light barrier.
  • The Beastmaster: Thanks to her Artifact of Taming, she is able to control dragon Egoron.
  • Berserk Button: Damaging Egoron, whom she considers a true friend, despite being a game creature.
  • Biblical Bad Guy: Famine. She's skinny Ill Girl addicted to the game to the point that sometimes she forgets to eat.
  • Big Bad: Of Season 3.
  • Combat Medic: She's a priest, so she can heal others.
  • Cool Crown: Dragon Priestess Tiara.
  • Deconstruction: Of I Just Want to Have Friends. Her desperate need for friends and loved ones because of her parental neglect causes her to succumb more and more into evil and radical actions. At one point, she needs people to love so bad that she thinks she will be able to do that only in game and accepts Albright's terroristic attacks just for sake of playing on.
  • Evil Virtues: As an Anti-Villain and Well-Intentioned Extremist, she displays several of them.
    • Camaraderie: She values other High Officers, unlike the rest of them who argue most of the time and hate each other.
    • Humility: Unlike arrogant Hardmann, Christos and Fileas she is very humble and friendly to all.
    • Loyalty: She is extremely devoted to creation of Digital Utopia and will never betray her master, Augustus Albright.
  • Face Death with Dignity: When Gideon impales her with his sword and throws her off her dragon, her reaction is simple acceptance that she lost.
    Oh, well.
  • Fiery Redhead: Subverted. She has red hair and can be sometimes get crazy on a battlefield, but she's usually really calm.
  • Go Out with a Smile: As she falls to her death in game after being impaled by Gideon, she smiles briefly and says "Oh, well".
  • Hypocrite: She's mad at Florence for attacking Egoron, but it was her who blocked the whole bridge.
  • I Just Want to Have Friends: She started playing Magnolia to find friends. Unfortunately, each of her "friend" tried to use her to their own purposes.
  • Ill Girl: She has a heart disease and lives in a private hospital. Because of that she started playing Magnolia Online.
  • In the Back: When she fights Florence, she focuses entirely on him. Then, when Risa heals him, Gideon sneaks behind her and impales her with his sword, killing her almost instantly.
  • Light Is Good: When she was still young, naive player, she wore plain white dress.
  • Light Is Not Good: However, after she joined Ministry of Light, she still wears white clothes, but is not that good as before.
  • Obliviously Evil: She's not an evil person, like most of the other officers. She follows Alyona simply because she thinks it's best for players and they make them happy. She doesn't see that her actions spoil the gameplay to others and that she's used as an Unwitting Pawn.
  • Shut Up, Kirk!: "And so what?", she said to Gideon after he told her about terroristic attacks organised by Albright.
  • Superpower Lottery: She is a user of Artifact of Taming.
  • Unwitting Pawn: Her need for acceptance and friends make her an easy pawn for Einhard, Francis and Alyona. Except that she knows about all the horrible things that Albright does and accepts it, so Digital Utopia can be created.
  • Well-Intentioned Extremist: Her goals are genuinely good - creating the Digital Utopia and letting people live good lives there. It's the means that she tries to achieve it are the problem.
