    Grimbo

D-Sides Grimbo

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/untitled46_20231126072312.png
"IT'S GRIMBIN' TIME"
The actual Grimbo's D-Sides version. D-Sides Grimbo is the playable character in Trick Or Flee, this mod's version of "God Feast" (which, in itself, is the D-Sides remix of "Slaybells").

Scrapped Playable Characters

    Ved Guy

Ved Guy

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/d_sides_ved.gif
"Don't eat at Burger King!"
Ourple Guy's D-Sides version. He would have been a playable character in the D-Sides remix of "Pizza", where he would've fought D-Sides Dumbfuck.

    Mighty the Armadillo

D-Sides Mighty

Don't play dumb with me motherfu-
The Armadillo himself, not some creature that’s possessing him or taking his form to trick his comrades for once. He was meant to be the protagonist of the D-Sides remix of "Prey", where he would have faced off with Shadow Hunter and Starved Maria. Unfortunately for him, this duel with Maria would be his last...
  • And Now for Someone Completely Different: Mighty is completely disconnected from the events of this mod that Boyfriend goes through.
  • Art Shift: The entirety of "Prey" plays out in a Sonic Mania styled format, with Mighty, Shadow Hunter and Starved Maria all rendered in the console's limitations. The health bar is also offcenter to make room for the song's unique HUD, based on the Genesis games' HUD.
  • Demoted to Extra: Mighty himself rarely gets any screen time. He's rarely mentioned in the backstory of most of the ZIPs, and if he is, it's usually because he's their victim.
  • Killed Mid-Sentence: Let's just say that quote above ends suddenly for a reason.
  • The Nicknamer: Just like modern Sonic games, Mighty loves giving mocking nicknames to Maria, though this time he chooses the nickname "Yellow Head" due to Starved Maria's yellow skin. The 2.0 version of "Prey" also has him use the classic "Robuttnik" nickname from Sonic the Hedgehog (SatAM).
  • Oh, Crap!: His expression noticeably changes when Starved Maria reveals her true face - and not for the better.
  • Pursued Protagonist: The entirety of "Prey" is this to Mighty, and he doesn't survive.
  • Promoted to Playable: As mentioned, Mighty was going to be this for "Prey".
  • The Hero Dies: He's killed by Shadow Hunter at the very end of the song, then presumably cooked and served to Starved Maria.

    Ray The Flying Squirrel

D-Sides Ray

An alternate version of Ray who is a lone survivor of Starved Maria's One-Track-Minded Hunger, he has been on the run for a while, and only recently has he got the courage to confront the doctor to put a stop to her plan of using the Time Stones to create an endless feast, especially since he was invited for dinner...
  • An Arm and a Leg: Starved Maria had already managed to eat the end of his tail by "Fight Or Flight".
  • All for Nothing: Implied, near the end of "Fight or Flight", it becomes near impossible to regenerate health due to the fear meter being maxed out, causing massive health drain. Ray's losing icon is him being horribly maimed, likely implying he doesn't stop Starved Maria.
  • And Now for Someone Completely Different: The confrontation between Ray and Starved Maria has no connection to the events of the mod Boyfriend goes through.
  • Cruel and Unusual Death: Should Ray's fear meter get too high at any point in the song, he'll become Starved Maria's next meal. It's as horrible to behold as you'd expect, so much that the game has to censor the gruesome sight.
  • Promoted to Playable: Ray takes Boyfriend's place for "Fight or Flight", facing Starved Maria herself.
  • Sanity Meter: At least a form of one as a fear meter at the right of the screen during "Fight or Flight". It slowly climbs up during the song, and can only be held down through successful note hits. Getting misses, or rather "sacrifices", as the game refers to them in this case, raises it higher.

    Mighty.zip/Zephaniah

Mighty.ZIP

"In the notepad, fates are written, 'cuz Pandora didn't listen...Time will march, and here with me. THIS SCREEN'S THE LAST YOU'LL EVER SEE!"
Voiced by: Philliplol
A malevolent creature that takes on the form of Mighty the Armadillo. He is an opponent in Try Harder, the D-side remix of "Too Slow", No Rest and Soul Clash, the D-Sides remixes of "You Can't Run" and "Triple Trouble". He was also meant to be an opponent in Final Lap, the D-Sides remix of "Final Escape" before V2 was cancelled.
  • A God Am I: Downplayed. He does call himself a god, but it's not for the reason you'd expect.
  • Black Eyes of Evil: It kind of fits into his malicious intent, unlike Zeus, who is Laughably Evil.
  • Alien Blood: In his faker form and in his first phase, his eyes bleed a black substance.
  • Body Horror: Not hard to assume given he's Sonic.exe. He has an additional pair of hands inside his body, as seen in his up pose. As the hands' positions change, it almost gives the impression that something's trying to climb out of his mouth. His Slasher Smile is also so wide it exposes his jawbone…although it’s hidden by a shadow.
  • Composite Character: Mighty.zip's depiction in the mod seems to take a few cues from multiple versions of Sonic.exe, fanmade and official.
    • The hands within his mouth likely reference the 2017 remake, where X is described as having shadowy arms emerge from his mouth that he uses to steal his victims’ souls.
    • Mighty.zip overall is a mix of the original character from the 2012 fangame, and the newly created Xenophanes from the upcoming reboot.
  • Evil Laugh:
    • He cackles maniacally after shifting into his first phase to signal the Song Style Shift at the 1/2 mark of "Too Slow".
    • He also lets loose a decidedly different laugh in "Too Slow" after declaring himself God.

    Soul Ray, Fang and Maria

D-Sides Soul Ray, Fang and Maria

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/untitled5_20231116192904.png
SO MANY SOULS TO PLAY WITH - SO LITTLE TIME
Mighty's best friend Ray, his arch-rival Fang, and Shadow's best friend Maria, who were claimed as Mighty.zip's victims. All three of them were brought back from the dead for Soul Clash, the D-side version of Triple Trouble... but it turns out that they aren't really willing to serve Mighty.zip as he would like them to be.
  • Adaptational Badass: In this creepypasta, Maria was the least able to put up a fight of the three due to being a completely normal human. In the mod, her segment of "Triple Trouble" is generally regarded as the hardest due to its increased BPM, sudden flip in perspective, and her segment lasting the longest of the characters involved next to Mighty.zip himself. It's even implied by the fact that her segment starts in the middle of Boyfriend's turn and that red static appears before being dissipated during her segment that she's outright stealing Mighty.zip's turn.
  • An Arm and a Leg: Ray and Fang both have one of their arms torn off, while Maria is missing her jaw.
  • Back from the Dead: They were all killed by Mighty.ZIP throughout the mod, but now they're back! It's certainly not pretty, though, as they retain all of Mighty.zip's defilements to their bodies.
  • Uncertain Doom: Of Fang. It appears he died, not by Mighty.ZIP, but by shooting himself in the head, although this has not yet been confirmed.
  • Body Horror: Not hard to assume considering they're all dead. Maria takes the cake though; she looks like her corpse was simply reanimated, with her brain visible from inside her eye sockets.
  • Cyclops: All of Ray's animations (except for his right animation) have both his eye holes merge into one, showing only one pupil. Oh, and he's staring right at you.
  • Evil Laugh: Maria does this at the end of her first segment (and several times after) after realizing that not even Zephaniah can stand a chance against Boyfriend.
  • Eye Scream: All three are missing their eyes. Ray in particular looks like he had his eyes messily torn out.
  • The Fourth Wall Will Not Protect You: Ray stares at the player during his down pose.
  • Gross-Up Close-Up: Early in Ray's segment and at the start of Fang's and Maria's segments, there are minor jumpscares with very detailed drawings of each corpse's face.
  • My Brain Is Big: Befitting her father and brother's original Mad Scientist status, Maria's defining Body Horror feature is her large exposed brain, protruding through her eyeholes and the crack in the middle of her head.
  • Personality Remnant: Compared to Ray and Fang, who are little more than shells of their former selves, Maria retains much of her brother's bombastic and hammy personality, shown through her expressive poses and tendency to let out a laugh at the end of her verses.
  • The Quiet One: Fang's part is more mellow than Ray's and Maria's.

    Tenma Mighty

Tenma Mighty

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/untitled48_20231126073657.png
"HELLO, BOISENGIRLS! SUCH A PLEASURE TO SEE ALL YOUR LOVELY FACES!"
YOU NEVER STOOD A CHANCE.
A Mighty with a more clown motif who wants to spread joy to others. Tenma Mighty is the opponent of the D Sides remix of Endless.

    Zeus

God Z/Zeus

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/untitled45_20231126072252.png
"Let me show you my beautiful world."
A god of void matter and the creator of his own universe. Zeus, formerly known as God Z, is a pleasant guy who has no desire to kill anyone, instead wanting to show them around his universe. He's the opponent of the D-Sides remix of "Cycles" and is one of the 2 opponents in Trick Or Flee, this mod's version of "God Feast" (which, in itself, is the D-Sides remix of "Slaybells").

    Ray Doll

Ray Doll

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/raydollstaticidle_9.png
Can you feel the sunshine?
An AU of Tails Doll reimagining him as Ray. It sings the D-Sides remix of Sunshine and was planned to be an opponent in the D-Sides remix of Soulless.

    Hyper Claws
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/untitled54_20231126192827.png
Step aside, sucker! Make way for HYPER KNUCKLES!
Originating from the Archie Sonic comics, this version of Claws (aka. D-Sides Knuckles) is a cocky-ass bitch who won't stop flexing his power. He sings the D-Sides remix of Chaos.

    Mitee.JPEG-Large

Mitee.JPEG-Large

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/untitled49_20231126073707.png
A random version of Sunky.MPEG created by ItsYaBoi_Joseph before D-Sides 2.7 released. He is the opponent in this mod's D-Side remix of "Milk" and is one of the 2 opponents in Trick Or Flee, this mod's version of "God Feast" (which, in itself, is the D-Sides remix of "Slaybells").

    Burninggold

Burninggold The Ermedilla

Shut up, fingerless gloves are badass
"hey...no hard feelins...kid"
A hilariously-drawn D-Sides version of Coldsteel the Hedgeheg meant to resemble a poor mock of Mighty. Sings Personal, the D-Sides remix of Personnel.

    Meaty

Meaty Cock.ZIP

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/untitled50_20231126073718.png
"Mah boi…You're stupid and nobody likes you all toasters!"
This mod's take on D-Sides Sanic.EXE. It is the opponent in this mod's D-Sides remix of "Too Fest".

Scrapped Opponents

    Chaotix

D-Sides Chaotix

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/untitled51_20231126073735.png
ItsYaBoi_Joseph's take on the actual Chaotix's D-Sides version. They were meant to be the opponent in the D-Sides remix of "My Horizon".

    Beelzevos

Beelzevos

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/img_0210.jpeg
"TIME'S UP."
"WHY DO YOU KEEP PERSISTING? YOU KNOW YOU'RE GOING TO FAIL ANYWAYS."
No, not that Beelzevos. THIS Beelzevos is Mad Man Halloween's take on the character. He was meant to be fought in the D-Sides remix of Perdition V1.

    Clover and Lucky

Clover

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/img_0209.jpeg
"Any step closer and luck won't be by your side this time."
The official D-Sides version of Curse created by Mad Man Haloween himself, who also happened to be Curse's former owner. He is a terribly lucky version of Mighty cursed with the Luck Of Z, accompanied by an Omochao of unknown origin. Clover and Lucky were both meant to be fought in the D-Sides remix of Malediction, but were scrapped following the allegations and subsequent cancellation of Mad Man Halloween.
  • The Aloner: Clover doesn't like having any visitors around.
  • No Social Skills: Given that he doesn't want anybody near him, he's not good at taking social cues seriously:
Clover: "Go away."
Clover: "I said…go away!"

    Hare and Labyrinth

Hare and Labyrinth

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/untitled53_20231126081107.png
The Good rabbit.
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/labyrinthstaticidle_9.png
The Evil, Cruel, Malicious and Sinister Rabbit.
2 entities that share 1 body: a bootlegged version of Feels the Rabbit (aka. Beta/Rabbit Sonic), and his original evil entity inside him. Hare and Labyrinth are a pair of entities that resemble Feels. They reside in a bootleg copy of Sonic the Hedgehog and were found after someone with a Genesis dev kit decided to dig around the files before Labyrinth scorched the cartridge to prevent them from digging deeper. Labyrinth is actually the original Feels before his data was overwritten by Hare the bootleg rabbit, which made him evil and now he wants to kill Hare for replacing him.

They were meant to be fought in the D-Sides remix of Manual Blast, which was never implemented and uses a placeholder cover using their vocals.

  • Alternate Universe: Hare resides in a world similar to but not exactly like Hog's due to being from a bootleg.
  • Black Eyes of Evil: Labyrinth's eyes appear solid black because his pupils are extremely dilated, by choice at that. He does have sclera, but it's hard to tell unless he contracts his pupils or consciously glances in a different direction.
  • Bland-Name Product: Due to coming from a bootleg product, the names of Hare's equivalents to things in the Sonic world are only somewhat changed.
  • Children Are Innocent: Invoked: Hare is innocent, childlike, and friendly as bait to get people closer to him, after which Labyrinth would take over and kill them.
  • Expy: The two were heavily inspired by both EXE And Feels, being a small mouthless Feels lookalike with a disturbing larger form, though unlike EXE whose smaller form is a disguise, Hare is entirely an separate person from Labyrinth.
  • Face–Heel Turn: Due to his data being overwritten by Hare, Feels became the evil Labyrinth and now wants to kill Hare for replacing him.
  • Four-Fingered Hands: Subverted with Hare. His middle and ring fingers are actually fused together, making it look like he four fingers on each hand.
  • Glitch Entity: A lot of Scorched's abilities revolve around glitches, though they can be very unstable and have a chance to either do nothing or backfire on him if something goes wrong for him.
  • Clothing Appendage: Hare's bowtie bleeds into his skin as Labyrinth.
  • Killed Off for Real: The ultimate fate of both of them in their story, the destruction of their world as a result of their clash causing them to both perish, and the hardware with it. Though, not before Labyrinth undergoes a Heel Realization and breaks down, dying in sorrow.
  • Laughing Mad: Labyrinth lets out a cavalcade of laughs as he transforms from Hare in "Manual Blast".
  • Non-Indicative Name: Hare is neither a hare nor a rabbit. He's a Jackrabbit.
  • Original Generation: Hare and Labyrinth were actually created for Friday Night Funkin' D-Sides.
  • Painful Transformation: Transforming into Labyrinth is implied to be incredibly painful for Hare if the noises he makes during "Manual Blast" are any indication.
  • Reference Overdosed: During the final stretch of "Manual Blast", one of Hare and Labyrinth's songs, Labyrinth's head was going to glitch out and show the faces of other .exes, such as Mighty.ZIP, Soul Fang, Mitee.JPEG-Large, Grimbo and Mr.SG34S0N1C.
  • Super Gullible: Hare will believe literally anything you tell him, no matter how factually incorrect it is.
  • Tragic Monster: Both of them have shades of this. Hare is a well-meaning, innocent fellow who holds a malevolent entity inside of him without any knowledge or control over it. Labyrinth is Feels himself after nearly being erased in a universal overlap, with his glitchy nature being a result of his data being corrupted and mostly overwritten by Hare's.
  • Unperson: Any mention of Hare/Labyrinth was scoured clean from the mod beyond the hidden placeholder cover; all artwork depicting him was deleted, all future songs for him were canceled, and he's never mentioned by name by the remaining developers, usually only being referred to as the "replaced beast" or variations thereof. As far as the developers are concerned, Hare and Labyrinth never existed beyond the accidentally-hidden placeholder cover for him, and mentioning attempts to bring him back will be met with ire.
  • Token Good Teammate: Hare is genuinely well-meaning and innocent, in comparison to Labyrinth.
  • Two Beings, One Body: Hare and Labyrinth share the same body, which transforms depending on who's in control. Additionally, Hare is completely unaware of Labyrinth's existence, implying that whether or not he's in control is fully dependent on if Labyrinth wants him to be.

    Pinwheel of Death

Pinwheel of Death

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/podcrop.png
A color wheel made manifest via a computer virus. They would have been in fought in the D-Sides remix of Fatality, but were ultimately replaced by Bluescreen, who will appear in the OG mod.

    Mr.SG34S0N1C

Mr.SG34S0N1C

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/needlemighty.png
Illegal Instruction 000XE0000
Error54's take on an armadillo version of NeedleM0use/Sarah Henderson. He was meant to be fought in the D-Sides remix of Round-A-Bout.

    Starved Maria

D-Sides Starved

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/untitled57_20231127081518.png
I know I'm a monster…but the temptation is too strong.
A eerie version of Maria in the Starved continuity. Was meant to be fought in the D-Sides remix of Prey and Fight or Flight.

    Shadow Hunter

Shadow Hunter/D-Sides Furnace

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/img_0229.jpeg
Pictured: Fanmade sketch by TheChipu on what Shadow Hunter could have looked like in the mod.
A version of D-Sides Shadow in the Starved continuity. Shadow Hunter is the mod's take on the D-Sides version of Furnace and was meant to be fought in the D-Sides remix of Prey.

    Aimless

Aimless

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/img_0196_0.jpeg
A version of Devoid in D-Sides form. Aimless was meant to be fought in the D-Sides remix of Hollow/Trickery.

    Dumbfuck

D-Sides Dumbfuck

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/scrapped_d_side_dumbfuck.jpg
A joke character of the regular Dumbfuck resembling Mighty. He would have fought Ved Guy in the D-Sides remix of "Pizza".

    X-Terion

D-Sides X-Terion

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/strange_d_side_x_terion_design.jpg
The actual X-Terion's D-Side variant. He would've been an opponent in the D-Sides remix of "Substantial", but never made it out of 2 concepts.

    ZIP
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/img_0018.png
YOU'RE TOO SLOW
Yep. It's another version of EXE. ZIP was planned for the mod to be fought in the D-side versions of Faker and Black Sun, but he was ultimately scrapped when the mod was cancelled, along with his artist, TheChewster being fired for racism.
  • Body Horror: Much like EXE, but different. Unlike EXE, instead of his eyes melting inwards, D-Sides EXE's eyes merge into one eerie eye reminiscent of Chaotix.
  • Clothing Appendage: As seen in his Black Sun form, his shoes are very much a part of his body, as they actually meld into his legs.
  • Early-Installment Weirdness: You'd be forgiven if you knew what the first concept…uh…was like. You probably get what TheChewster had in mind before being outed. His base on Knuckles was only a last-ditch effort after discovering it.
