    King Octopus (Unmarked Spoilers)

King Octopus

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/kingocto11.png
“Do you want to know where I get the octopus on my head?”
Richman 8
"Tssk! You got me."
Voiced by: Sun Chengnote , Li Shiyangnote , Fu Shuangnote , Zhang Jienote , Liang Xingchangnote
An international criminal who once manipulated Princess Sarah to find a special diamond.
  • Adaptational Badass: 11 changed him from a normal character with a few player-level talents (that are in fact some of the worst talents in 10) to a Landlord, which on top of having some Contractual Boss Immunity, has up to three powerful talents that can easily undermine your usual strategies. You'll need to think about what cards to buy so he won't quickly use up the cards he steals from you and generate moer Take Aways to eventually steal all of your cards, and think twice before you send him to prison or jail.
  • The Bus Came Back: Returns in 10, thirteen years after his debut in 8.
  • The Butler Did It: As a butler, he requested Princess Sarah to hold the Richman Tournament just to find who might have the Lucky Star, a Macguffin he’s looking for.
  • Cool Chair: Has a floating chair as his scooter and a floating throne as his car in 11.
  • Demoted to Extra: Reduced to a Landlord, which acts like bosses in 11.
  • Diabolical Mastermind: Has an elaborated scheme just to get the Lucky Star in 8, tries to activate many diamonds’ power to make the world into a more money-hungry one in 10, and traps the protagonists on Softstar planet with Doctor Y and controls the media so that he could take over the Earth in 11.
  • Extra Eyes: The octopus on his head somehow gets 4 eyes in his hard mode appearance, making him looking even more exotic.
  • Guide Dang It!:
    • 10's description for his Octopus Tentacle Card is incredibly vague, as it says that it binds and tramples the opponent. Its actual effect is to stop every opponent from moving for the next turn without doing anything else.
    • The English version of 11 erroneously states that he is immune to missiles when he's immune to Take Aways.
  • High-Class Glass: Wears one as his standard outfit to match his alias name. He also wears that in all of his disguises somehow.
  • Master of Disguise: He has been a butler, the tournament’s host, and some of the NPCs (specifically all males with monocles). He also changes his voice as some of them. It's probably a Truth in Television in proxy since octopi in real life do have the ability to disguise themselves, even though King Octopus isn't wearing his octopus otherwise.
  • Nice Job Fixing It, Villain: He hires a bodyguard so that he can finish whoever tries to arrest him in 8, Said bodyguard is actually Coolva, who is a special agent also trying to capture him.
  • No-Sell: As a landlord in 11, besides the Contractual Boss Immunity that he shares with every other landlord, he's also immune to Take Aways. note
  • Promoted to Playable: As the host (and some NPCs) in 8, and becomes playable in 10.
  • Robe and Wizard Hat: He wears those as the sorceror who casts a random effect to a certain character when someone enters the magic house.
  • Sadist: In 10 when he uses Octopus Tentacle Card as he remarks that other weapons do their jobs "too quick", because he enjoys seeing his opponents suffer.
  • Screw This, I'm Outta Here: In 10's Story Mode, he runs away after being defeated. In his own Story Mode, you'll be helping him escaping from Xiaomei and Odd Bioguy.
  • Spoiler Cover: Blatantly shown in 8’s box art while his true form is only shown in Princess Sarah’s and James’s (who are secret characters) opening in Story Mode.
  • Sudden Name Change: He is known as "Dr. Octopus" in 10, then changed back to King Octopus in 11.
  • Tentacle Rope: 10 has a unique card for him called "Octopus Tentacle Card" that, when used, shows an animation of tentacles binding the opponents and stops all opponents in place for one day.
  • The Unfought: In 8, despite being the main antagonist, you don't get to fight him directly, and he's arrested by James and Coolva afterwards.
  • Villain Protagonist: He gets his own story in an update in 10 where you can play as him. You end up helping him escape from Xiaomei and Odd Bioguy.
  • Walking Spoiler: It’s really hard to talk about him without mentioning he’s also the friendly host who announces your opponents' name along with him disguising as a butler to approach Princess Sarah.
     Kiki
Wu Mhi’s pet wolf, which is abducted by King Octopus.
  • The Cameo: While not appearing in the game, its master will mention it when using the Boost Card (it makes the player move double of how much they roll) in 9. Also, said master rides a white wolf as her scooter in 11, which is implied to be the same wolf.
  • What Happened to the Mouse?: In Wu Mhi's Story Mode in 10, it's briefly mentioned that Wu Mhi is finding it once again as it's lost for some reason, but the story ends after Wu Mhi and Xiaomei plays in October's farm for a while.
     The Alien (Unmarked Spoilers)
The alien who dropped the Lucky Star on Earth, kickstarting the story.
  • Eye on a Stalk: His speices has two eyes on long stalks.
  • "Shaggy Dog" Story: He wants to get the Lucky Star back as he thinks it is the diamond his son wants. Only after he gets it from Wednesday and show it to his son did he learn that he got the wrong diamond.
  • Walking Spoiler: It's hard to talk about him as he's relevent to the Lucky Star as he's responsible for dropping it on Earth, resulting in anything afterwards.
The King of Gambler (Unmarked Spoilers)
The mysterious gambler who defeats Big Gamester and makes him join the Richman tournament.
  • Bastard Understudy: As an apprentice of King Octopus, he is actually against his evil plans and wants to stop him, and he succeeds, at least in Big Gamester's ending.
  • The Chessmaster: He is King Octopus' apprentice, but is actually good and wants to stop his evil plan, and he could not directly do it. Instead, he sets up the entire scene by winning over Big Gamester, forcing him into heavy debts and give him an invitation so he can attend it and win enough money to pay back the debt and also undermine King Octopus' plan of getting the Lucky Star. Big Gamester admires him so much that he isn't even angry at being set up.
  • Walking Spoiler: There's more to him than an NPC who appears in Big Gamester's story.
