Fanfic / When Legends meet

Go To

The When Legends meet series by Aragorn_II_Elessar is a Massive Multiplayer Crossover fanfic that encapsulates numerous fandoms into a single story.

The basic premise is that the Singularity at the end of The Flash Season 1 doesn't just open breaches between Earth-1 and Earth-2, but multiple worlds all over the Multiverse, so now, anyone can cross between any Universe accidentally.

There are also cases where a few fandoms co-exist on the same Earth.

The list of works involved, which only continues to expand:

    The various Earths
In addition, characters, creatures and elements from Jeepers Creepers, Dante's Inferno, The Chronicles of Narnia, Predator, The Avengers: Earth's Mightiest Heroes, Teen Wolf, Alien, Resident Evil, The Spectacular Spider-Man, Naruto, The Witcher, the original Ben 10 continuity, Harry Potter and Devil May Cry have also appeared, but the designations of these Universes have not been revealed as of now.

The series consists of one story of 31 chapters as of April 2024:

    Works in the Series

Originally, the first story was supposed to be a crossover only between seven fandoms, those being Tolkien's Legendarium, Marvel Cinematic Universe, Star Wars, Buffyverse, Smallville, Supernatural and Arrowverse, but Serial Escalation is at play here, and now, a ton of fandoms are part of this series in just the first story alone, not counting the various cameos.

Tropes present in the series:

  • 10-Minute Retirement: After the incident with Ultron, Tony decides to take a brief break.
  • Abusive Parents: Leonard's and Lisa's father Lewis Snart puts a bomb in his own daughter's head to coerce his son into working with him.
  • Accidental Time Travel: Superman and Booster Gold accidentally get sent to the 31st Century via a Legion Ring due to a protocol. On the other hand, while the Ninth Doctor and his Companions were time-travelling, ending up in the future on a completely different world was clearly not part of their plans.
  • The Ace:
    • Eliot Spencer is portrayed as this, good at nearly everything, such as fighting, singing and cooking.
    • John Rambo is an ace when it comes to fighting and hunting as well, having taken out The Creeper as well as a Predator.
    • Alec Hardison is pretty much the best at hacking, outperforming Felicity and even the Calculator.
    • Parker is the best thief, and is training a young Felicia Hardy to be a great thief too.
    • Aragorn is a master swordsman to the point even Vandal Savage is unable to overpower him in any of their melee duels, and he would have been killed by Aragorn multiple times if not for his immortality. Aragorn is also able to stand up against the physically stronger Hawkman due to his superior close-quarters combat skills.
    • Sephiroth is very powerful and very skilled, fighting Cloud, Sora, Riku, Tifa, Aerith, Barret and Red XIII all by himself, and by the end of the fight, they're all tired while he is barely phased. His powers and skills are beyond almost everyone else shown in this series so far.
  • Action Girl: Natasha Romanoff, Sara Lance, Buffy Summers, Parker, Kara Zor-El, Lois Lane, Diana Prince, Ahsoka Tano, etc. The list goes on and on.
  • Actor Allusion: Characters looking like other characters from other Universes gets lampshaded or referenced constantly:
  • Adaptational Backstory Change:
    • The Fantastic Four do not gain powers due to exposure to cosmic rays during a mission to outer space, but instead, they're trying to find where Steve Rogers ended up in the Multiverse, and have protective suits on when they go to a tentative location. Only, this location is the Negative Zone, and it reacts with their machine, giving them their powers.
    • Static Shock's origins are slightly changed due to him and his supporting cast being in Central City. The riots that happened when his mother was shot are replaced by protests against the Particle Accelerator, and one of them turned violent, because of which Jean Hawkins worked overtime to help treat the wounded. While returning home, she was confronted by Roscoe Dillon, who killed her for a top she'd bought for a kid at the shelter. And Virgil does not gain his powers from the Big Bang during a gang war. Instead, he secretly watches Flash fight Top, and also picks up Top's fallen gun, wanting to kill him in revenge for his mother, but eventually decides better and throws the gun away. However, a lightning bolt fired by Flash is deflected by Top, and accidentally hits Virgil, knocking him out. Its then revealed that Virgil was struck by the Particle Accelerator explosion but did not gain any powers at the time. However, Flash's lightning striking him managed to awaken his dormant electromagnetic powers, because of which he then becomes Static Shock at last.
  • Adaptational Badass:
    • Since Alice Pierce is still alive in this series, and adopted by Andy Barclay, she is a fighter and quite capable of defending herself.
    • Dawn Summers manages to learn some magic during Season 6 of Buffy the Vampire Slayer, and is good at using it too.
    • The voice that contacts the slasher villains such as Michael Myers, Chucky, Jason Voorhees and Freddy Krueger increases their powers to allow them to fight the Heroes.
    • Adrian Chase is given a chip that is installed into his brain, and it has the fighting skills of all the best fighters in the world downloaded into it, making him much more skilled than he was in canon.
    • Thor ends up being trapped in a strange place where he fights multiple powerful Demons, and this makes him unleash his true power, making him much more powerful than his canonical self.
  • Adaptational Early Appearance:
    • Adrian Chase appears one Season earlier than he originally did, as do Talia al Ghul, Agent Smith and Alena Whitlock. Doris Chase appears one Season early too.
    • Ruvé Adams appears 3 episodes earlier than she did in the show.
    • Helmut Zemo appears during Phase 2 instead of Phase 3 of the MCU.
    • Jay Garrick and Jesse Quick are freed much earlier than they were in canon.
    • Since the journey to Earth-2 happens long before it did in canon, Zoom's minions such as Killer Frost, Vibe and Deathstorm appear earlier too.
    • Hugo Martinez appears long before he did in canon. Though he dies quickly.
    • Eliot makes up with his adoptive father Billy long before the start of Leverage: Redemption.
    • Rene Ramirez, Laura Ramirez, Zoe Ramirez, Dinah Drake and Sean Sonus appear one Season earlier than they did in the show, not that they survive very long either, except the Ramirez family.
    • Dr. Helen Cho has a brief appearance before Avengers: Age of Ultron to run tests on the Fantastic Four after their accident.
    • Bart Allen's first appearance in the Smallville Season 11 comics was during the Haunted arc, but here, due to changed events, the significant parts of that arc end up happening even before Detective, so he appears earlier, as does the Black Racer.
    • The Ancient One and Wong are briefly seen after the Singularity has opened and closed on Earth-199999.
    • The Fantastic Four are set to appear in the MCU, but in this series, they get introduced during Phase 2 itself.
  • Adaptational Karma:
    • Art the Clown is sent to Hell by John Constantine.
    • For Senator Joseph Cray, who got away with his actions in the Republic of Kasnia, with all his crimes being pinned on the dead Floyd Lawton. But here, the Leverage crew, alongside Oliver Queen and Ethan Hunt, expose him publicly for who he truly is.
    • The H20 Timeline version of Michael Myers ends up being decapitated by Angel.
    • Sweet still gets away with his Musical mess, but not before getting a beatdown from Eliot and some strikes from Sora's Keyblade. Xander also receives a punch from Eliot for being the one to accidentally summon Sweet.
    • Tara's ex Daphne Frost, a Witch Hunter, beats up Amy Madison for sabotaging Willow's rehab from her magic addiction, scaring Amy off permanently.
  • Adaptational Nice Guy: While Harry Wells did become nicer eventually, here, due to Aragorn's influence, he shows his better side quite early.
  • Adaptational Wimp: The Ancient Ones were said to be able to destroy the Earth if they ever came back out. But here, its revealed that they were only invulnerable to medieval weaponry, which made everyone think they couldn't be beaten. A few shots from Ash's boomstick wounds them and sends them all packing.
  • Adaptational Villainy:
    • Senator Cray was a corrupt politician in canon, but here, its revealed he also beats up prostitutes and sometimes kills them after sleeping with them.
    • Vandal Savage was very vile in canon, but he is even worse here, being a cannibal just for the sake of it, and his idea of honoring the people he considers worthy foes is simply agreeing not to eat them after killing them. He is also responsible for the Sawyer family and Hannibal Lecter becoming cannibals.
  • Adaptation Name Change: Samantha Clayton and William Clayton are renamed to Sandra Hawke and Connor Hawke respectively.
  • Adaptation Personality Change:
    • The Arrowverse versions of Kendra Saunders and Carter Hall are very different from their canonical selves. In Kendra's case, while still unsure of her destiny, she does not whine about it as much as the canonical version did, and Carter is not possessive of her, his abduction of her being explained by revealing he panicked on learning Savage was after Kendra, that too shortly after he got his own memory back.
    • Vandal Savage himself is portrayed differently from how he was in the crossover, where it seemed his only motivation is to kill Kendra and Carter so he can live longer, and as revenge for Chay-Ara loving Khufu instead of him. Here, he moved past those feelings long ago, and believes he is destined to be ruler of the world, and killing the Hawks in every lifetime of theirs is just a necessary sacrifice.
    • Ultron's personality is very different from canon, due to having researched the Multiverse when it first wakes up. So instead of being a quip-machine like Tony Stark, its a cold, emotionless being working on what it considers to be logic, much like its EMH doppelganger.
    • Even in just one scene, Earth-1 Superman is a lot more like his classical versions than the DCEU version.
  • Adaptation Relationship Overhaul:
    • Oliver and Felicity break up shortly after their return to Star City and decide to remain friends.
    • Since Oliver is still running for Mayor, Adrian infiltrates his life by posing as his political strategist, instead of a District Attorney.
    • Thea realizes she was wrong to let Malcolm into her life, because of which she tells him off for all he has done, and disowns him.
    • Barry reveals he is the Flash to Patty, and they become a permanent couple here, while Iris eventually leaves Central City.
    • Steve and Natasha have romantic feelings for each other, and are getting closer bit by bit, while Natasha and Banner are nothing more than friends.
    • Virgil Hawkins and Roscoe Dillon have no connection in any continuities. Here, Dillon is the one who killed Virgil's mother, over a top, making him an important part of Virgil's backstory.
  • Adaptation Species Change:
    • Odin's line from the beginning of Thor: The Dark World where he'd said 'We are not gods' to imply the MCU Asgardians are just powerful extraterrestrial beings thought of as gods on Earth is ignored completely. Here, they are actual gods, like in the comics.
    • The MCU versions of Wanda and Pietro are Mutants.
  • Adapted Out:
    • Earth-2 Barry, Iris, Joe and Lawton are all adapted out of the rescue mission on Earth-2.
    • Alex Davis is not Oliver's political strategist. Adrian Chase is.
    • Lonnie Machin is replaced by Adrian Chase during the events of Blood Debts.
    • Since Bart never died here, during the events of Argo in the Smallville Season 11 comics, his younger self is replaced by reincarnations of Carter/Khufu and Shayera.
    • Averted with Tom Bombadil and Goldberry, who end up appearing in this series. And while Lord Glorfindel's role is still taken by Arwen, he does make an appearance too, as do Elladan and Elrohir.
    • Billy Malone is left out during the story's version of What We Leave Behind, and some of his role is replaced by Mei instead.
    • Wanda and Pietro end up being recruited by Magneto into the Brotherhood, and hence, outside of the opening, they are not part of the battle against Ultron on either side. Vision is not created either. And due to how differently the conflict against Ultron plays out, Clint's family do not appear either.
  • Affably Evil: Zemo is genuinely polite, like usual, offering Turkish delight to his fellow members of the Injustice League while they're waiting for Vandal Savage's resurrection. Lex Luthor of Earth-21 is also this to a lesser extent.
  • All-Loving Hero:
    • Sora is shown as a very optimistic and happy individual, always trying to encourage others to think positively and not let their personal demons overtake them.
    • Optimus Prime always tries to see the best in everyone, raising hope and morale simply by speaking.
  • All Your Powers Combined:
  • Ambiguously Evil: Doctor Doom sincerely believes that every action he takes is for the greater good of his world in general.
  • Ambiguous Situation: When the nearly dead Steve sees a vision of the Howling Commandos, it is not made clear if their spirits actually appeared to him, or if he was hallucinating.
  • Amicable Exes:
    • Oliver manages to remain good friends with Sara, Laurel and Felicity, and even confides a lot in the former.
    • Eliot and Melinda May are this with each other too.
    • Angel and Buffy move past their feelings for each other but remain good friends.
    • Tara Maclay and Daphne Frost are still on good terms, and Daphne is also happy for Tara and Willow being together.
  • An Arm and a Leg: Aragorn ends up chopping off Zoom's arm during the rescue mission on Earth-2. Unfortunately, Lex and Zemo replace it with the Satan's Claw.
  • And I Must Scream: At one point, Doom knocks Tony out and traps him in his own mind, where he sees nothing but pitch black around himself.
  • Arbitrary Skepticism: In spite of all that Buffy has seen, she does not believe Dawn when she says she met Disney characters. The Winchesters revealed earlier that Superman, whom she did meet, was a fictional character on their Earth. So why can't fictional Disney characters be real somewhere else? Averted in the case of Andy Barclay and Alice Pierce, as the former believes the latter when she tells him the same thing.
  • Arch-Enemy:
    • Adrian Chase has been portrayed as Oliver's arch-nemesis in this fic so far.
    • For Barry Allen, his arch-rival is Zoom in this story.
    • Lex Luthor is this for Clark Kent.
    • Steven Lloyd's main arch-rival is Michael Myers.
    • It is explicitly mentioned that Tommy Jarvis is Jason Voorhees' arch-enemy.
    • Chucky and Andy Barclay consider each other to be this too.
    • Cloud Strife and Sephiroth, like usual.
  • Artistic License – History: Averted; at one point, on Earth-1 during a flashback, Hath-Set suggests cannibalism to appease Horus, only for the Pharaoh to immediately veto the idea due to how disturbing it is. Ancient Egypt did not practice cannibalism for the most part.
  • Ascended Extra: Steven Lloyd, the son of Jamie Lloyd, was just a newborn baby in Halloween: The Curse of Michael Myers, but in this series, he is all grown up, and a police officer in Central City on Earth-1. And now, he is Michael Myers' main enemy, since Laurie Strode and Jamie Lloyd have both died.
  • Back from the Dead: Vandal Savage is slain by the joined forces of the Heroes, but he is brought back later by being dipped into the Lazarus Pit.
  • Badass Adorable: Some of the Young Legends are sweet kids outside of battle, bantering and having fun as well as food like any other children of their age. But in battle, they're all forces to be reckoned with.
  • Badass Normal: There are many of these in the series, some examples being- Oliver Queen, Eliot Spencer, Bruce Wayne, John Rambo, Ethan Hunt, Natasha Romanoff, Clint Barton, Alice Pierce, Wesley Wyndham-Pryce and Charles Gunn.
  • Bash Brothers: Steve and Fives become this, fighting together during most of the conflict on Umbara, and getting along well, with Fives giving Steve a blaster too. Steve's words are what inspire Fives to completely defy Krell and go forth with his own strategy.
  • Beware the Nice Ones: Steve Rogers is driven to pure rage due to the actions of Pong Krell and actually wishes to kill him for the deaths of the Clones. He comes quite close to doing so as well.
  • Berserk Button:
    • Angel hates Dracula as much as Spike does.
    • Magneto does not even like the suggestion of tampering with the minds of his children Wanda and Pietro. He threatens Mastermind, the one who made the suggestion, that if he does anything like that, not even Gateway would be able to find what's left of him.
    • Another thing that makes Magneto angry is that humans in Hydra like Strucker and List were responsible for awakening Wanda's and Pietro's powers, and not he himself.
    • Don't hurt Naruto's friends. The Nine-Tailed Fox will come out.
  • Big Bad:
    • Damien Darhk is this for the first half of the Arrow plotline, and after that, the role is taken over by Adrian Chase instead.
    • So far, the biggest active threat to the Multiverse in this story seems to be Sephiroth.
    • A voice is ordering the slasher villains such as Michael Myers, Chucky, Jason Voorhees and Freddy Krueger into killing people and fighting the Heroes, and its clear the person behind this voice is going to be a big antagonist in the near future.
  • Big Badass Battle Sequence: This story has quite a few, the three most prominent ones being the battle of Sora, Riku, Cloud, Tifa, Aerith, Barret and Red XIII against the Whispers and Sephiroth, the battle of the Young Legends against Young Xehanort, and the battle of the Avengers and Fantastic Four against Ultron.
  • Big Bad Wannabe:
    • The Injustice League consisting of Lex Luthor, Helmut Zemo, Hunter Zolomon, Malcolm Merlyn and Vandal Savage are a competent group, but they are schooled by Megatron and Doctor Doom effortlessly on two separate occasions, and Sephiroth is being portrayed as the biggest active threat right now.
    • Even amongst the Injustice League, Zoom is seen as a bit of a joke and used as a really fast thug, since while he is powerful, he lacks the intellect and planning capacity of the rest of the group.
    • Damien Darhk is a threat no doubt, but even with his magic, its clear that Adrian Chase is much more of a threat to Oliver than he is. Not to mention, Damien is unable to do a thing to Gandalf, who shatters his idol effortlessly.
  • Big Damn Heroes:
    • Team Arrow is saved from being taken out by members of the Triad by Eliot Spencer, and he later saves Oliver from Lonnie Machin too.
    • Steve is saved from death at the hands of Pong Krell by none other than Thor, who has just arrived on Umbara.
    • Optimus Prime arrives to help out Clark and Kara in the future on Earth-21 against an out-of-control Grimlock.
    • The Leverage crew arrive in time to help Team Arrow against the Calculator.
    • Sandra and Connor are almost run over by a truck in Smallville, but end up being saved by Clark Kent of Earth-1.
    • Lea ends up saving Sora and Dawn before Master Xehanort's darkness can strike either of them.
    • Thor returns just in time to turn the tide against Ultron, as does JARVIS.
  • Bitch Slap:
    • Lois Lane and Lana Lang are both very annoyed by Iris West's self-centered attitude during a time when children are in danger, and she is concerned only with herself. So both of them end up slapping her one by one.
    • Megatron gives a light one to Zoom. It still breaks half of his bones.
  • Body Horror:
    • The fight between Steve and Krell is full of this. By the end of it, Krell has lost an eye, some fingers, and has an arm broken while another is chopped off. One tooth is also knocked out and his face has been brutally beaten in as well. Of course Steve is not much better either, having had many of his bones broken and his ribcage nearly crushed, also getting slashed down his chest with Krell's lightsaber, while his skull is fractured and his face is nearly beaten to a bloody pulp. His lungs are likely damaged as well from his broken ribs piercing his organs. He even gets stabbed by Krell's lightsaber, only surviving all of this because he is a Super Soldier, and he still needs quite some time to recover.
    • When Jason Voorhees kills, this is what happens. Dinah Drake gets chopped into two, and many of Sean Sonus' thugs are murdered brutally, with Jason ripping off one's arm and stabbing another with it. He also stabs one thug with a pole, its upper end touching some loose wires on the ceiling, which causes electricity to course through the thug's body, making his heart beat faster, then explode. Even Sonus has his face frozen, then shattered.
    • Freddy Krueger is capable of this too. He 'vomits' a bullet onto Martinez's leg, then amputates it, and finally chops off his head, killing him in the real world.
  • Bookends: The final battle against Ultron happens in the same forest where the Avengers had first taken down Strucker's Hydra base.
  • Brainwashed and Crazy: Earth-3 Fiddler briefly mind-controls Earth-3 Wally by playing his violin, forcing the young speedster to attack Jay.
  • Brick Joke: Hardison is seen listening to the Cray Cray song by Trish Walker from Jessica Jones at one point, saying he likes it when he gets weird looks from the rest. Later, when the truth about Senator Cray is exposed (alongside one lie), this song is played at his press conference, alongside the music video. Considering what the Senator's name is, the reactions are easy to imagine.
  • Broken Pedestal:
  • Bullying a Dragon: Lex and Zemo both verbally taunt Zoom when he is their prisoner, knowing he can't do a thing as he came to Lex for help. Its funny since he ends up becoming their own Dragon afterwards.
  • The Bus Came Back:
    • Roy Harper returns in Unchained, but this time, due to the Leverage crew's actions, he ends up staying permanently.
    • Sara reunites with Sin after the defeat of Damien Darhk.
  • But for Me, It Was Tuesday:
    • Buffy makes this remark regarding Dawn in the Musical, only for Eliot to call her out on it as its her own younger sister in trouble!
    • When Thor and Superman meet again, they ask each other about what's going on in their lives nowadays. Thor casually tells Superman about Ultron and the Avengers expanding ranks, while Superman casually tells Thor about the Time Travel adventure, The Doctor and his TARDIS and the Transformers. It plays out like a normal conversation....or what would pass off as a normal conversation between the God of Thunder and the Last Son of Krypton.
  • Call-Back:
  • Canon Welding:
    • Batman reveals to Oliver that while he was training to be a vigilante for a long time, Oliver's actions in stopping the Undertaking are what inspired him to finally get going.
    • Its theorized by Team Angel that the Michael Myers of the H20 Timeline lacks a soul, just like Ryan Anderson.
    • Rene Ramirez survived Jason Voorhees as a teenager in Camp Crystal Lake years ago, and in present day, he wears his hockey mask (that resembles Jason's), to get over his fear of the Camp Crystal Lake killer.
  • Caught Monologuing: When the Director starts her monologue about why Marty the Fool needs to die for the world to be saved, Ash Williams cuts her off by shooting her in the face.
  • Character Development:
    • Oliver Queen in the beginning of the story was not fighting at his best and had lost his will due to his team's hypocritical criticisms of him, but Eliot helps him find his true self again, as Oliver learns to fight well again, and stands up to his team, laying down the law with them. He also returns to the List, realizing the people whose names are not crossed out are still hurting the city.
    • Bruce Wayne usually likes to work alone, but he is eventually learning to let people in and work as part of a team.
    • Steve Rogers goes through an intense arc when he lands on Umbara, eventually seeing visions of the Howling Commandos, and deciding to keep on living due to how many people still need him. He has also moved past his infatuation for Peggy.
    • Buffy Summers was depressed when she first appeared in the story due to having been pulled out of Heaven, but Dean Winchester calls her out, telling her not to blame her friends considering they never knew she was in Heaven, and now she is hating them without letting them know why. Later, during the Musical, Sora's song helps her find the light within her once more and move past her depression.
    • Willow Rosenberg also gets some, as during her earlier appearances, she is letting the magic take over her, using it for everything, not realizing when she is doing wrong, such as erasing Tara's memory of their fight. But a harsh calling out by Clark and Tara, as well as finding out she pulled Buffy out of Heaven, makes her realize the damage she is doing, and she starts getting help for her problem.
    • Parker has started training a young Felicia Hardy, and eventually, Felicia begins to express some of her vulnerabilities to the master thief, while Parker also encourages her in a break from her usual socially awkward personality.
    • Leonard Snart, Mick Rory and Lisa Snart end up taking down Count Werner Vladek, a disgraced royal from the ruling family of Vlatava, who became a mercenary, and also plans to kill the 10 year old daughter of his brother, the ruling King, who is sick. Leonard realizes he liked being a bad guy who took down another bad guy, and decides to be more selective of his targets, with the group deciding to be bad guys for the good guys. Though Mick is still grumbling about it.
    • Spike is still soulless as of now, but he falls into Middle-earth, meeting Frodo, Sam, Merry and Pippin, who remind him of Dawn too much, and so he helps them out, protecting them during their journey to Rivendell, having several Pet the Dog moments. When Frodo is stabbed by the Witch-King, Spike actually sucks out some of the poisoned blood. In Rivendell, after being told of Sauron and the One Ring properly, he makes a callous comment about how he'd trade the One Ring with Sauron for passage back to his home world. The calling out he receives after that from Aragorn, Gandalf and Lord Elrond serves as his Wake-Up Call, as he realizes how horrible he is right now, and unworthy of Buffy and the other Scoobies. On returning to his world, Spike departs to earn his soul, much earlier than he did in canon.
  • Chekhov's Gun:
    • Before they leave for Earth-1, Hunt takes Parker and Hardison to an IMF base, letting them take whatever they want, which they do, including stuff whose functions they don't know but still take because it all looks cool. Amongst these items are the sticky gloves, which end up being very important during The Waller Job.
    • A literal one in this case- Before ending up on Umbara, Steve takes a handgun with him. During the final fight with Krell, he uses it to shoot at Krell. Krell tries to deflect with his lightsabers, but the slugs are vaporized on contact, melting the metal and sending the molten shrapnel into Krell's chest and shoulders.
  • The Chessmaster:
    • Sephiroth manipulates AVALANCHE, Sora and Riku into defeating the Whispers, allowing him to proceed with his plans, and he also convinces his doppelganger to fuse with him, increasing his power while he continues to carry on his plans.
    • Doctor Doom is always one step ahead of the Heroes, managing to surprise Tony, Rhodes and the Fantastic Four at every turn, and he even has diplomatic immunity. The Injustice League fall into a cell that depowers Zoom the moment they try to journey into Latveria to recruit him, and are completely at his mercy.
    • Master Xehanort's plan has spanned a decade now, and even with some delays, he gets closer and closer to achieving it.
  • Cliffhanger: Chapter 31 of 'Heroes coming together' ends with Hades escaping from Tartarus on Earth-21, while on Earth-205, Anakin Skywalker and Obi-Wan Kenobi are about to battle Alastair, and on Earth-199999, Magneto and the Brotherhood are about to execute their latest plan, with Matt Murdock and Grant Ward ending up in Star City on Earth-1. The story is on a two-month hiatus too following this chapter.
  • Combat Pragmatist:
    • Eliot Spencer is a master combatant, disabling all of his opponents within seconds.
    • Oliver Queen, once he stops holding back, is a nearly unbeatable fighter too.
    • Sara Lance is second only to Oliver in terms of fighting skills amongst those in Team Arrow.
    • Adrian Chase, after being upgraded by the chip, is the best fighter on Earth-1. He even pins Damien Darhk's arms and legs into the pavement using some special arrows while confronting him one time, to prevent him from moving his hands and using his magic.
    • Steve Rogers is the leader of the Avengers for many reasons, his combat skills and fighting intellect being amongst those, and he displays these during his battles alongside the Clones.
  • Commonality Connection:
    • Eliot Spencer forgives Rick Flag for torturing him under Amanda Waller's orders, seeing some of himself within Flag. Like he'd done horrible things for Damien Moreau, Flag had done horrible things for Waller. And just like he is trying to redeem himself with the Leverage crew, Flag has a chance of trying to redeem himself under Lyla Michaels.
    • Angel and Sam Winchester bond over fathers, and their technical expertise with the equipment they use.
    • Averted with Buffy and Dean, as they do not bond over coming back to life recently. Dean is actually annoyed by how much Buffy wallows in her depression and is blaming her friends without letting them know why, while also not considering that they did not know she was in Heaven. He calls her out over it too.
    • Batman gets angry at Harry Wells for the mess with his Particle Accelerator and making meta-human trackers to profit off of all this instead of taking responsibility, asking him how he plans to face Jesse like this, remembering when he'd found out how his father had hired Falcone to threaten a journalist, whom Falcone ended up murdering. And unlike his father, who planned to own up but was murdered alongside his mother before he could, Harry had covered up his role in this mess.
    • 99 reminds Steve a lot of himself before he became a Super Soldier.
    • Bruce Banner and Ben Grimm bond over how their conditions affect their normal lives, even if its worse for Grimm.
    • Dawn doesn't meet Roxas and Xion directly, but when they sing through Sora, she relates a lot to both of them, Xion's song even moving her to tears.
    • Eliot Spencer and John Rambo get along shortly after they are first introduced to each other, finding out just how similar their lives were, with joining the army, and losing pieces of their souls due to what they did, before trying to find some peace. The reveal that Rambo is Eliot's long-lost biological father helps quite a bit too.
    • Carrie White and Tina Shepard instantly get along due to their similar powers.
    • Optimus Prime and the Ninth Doctor see some of themselves in each other, both being very old aliens who've seen a lot of war, and the worst of their species, yet they continue to try and save whoever they can.
    • Barry comforts Virgil Hawkins on learning the boy lost his mother a few years ago, reminded of losing his own mom when he was 11, and Virgil appreciates his gesture a lot.
    • Goku, Naruto, Aang and Sora instantly become friends due to how similar their personalities are.
    • Percy Jackson and Harry Potter get along well too on noting the similarities between not just themselves, but also their worlds.
  • Composite Character:
    • Eliot Spencer once took upon the identity of Paladin sometime after he stopped working for Moreau but before he joined the Leverage crew.
    • Peter Parker from the The Spectacular Spider-Man reveals his Earth has the Avengers on it, and based on the descriptions, its clear these Avengers are from The Avengers: Earth's Mightiest Heroes, meaning the versions of Spider-Man and his supporting characters from both these cartoons have been combined into one.
  • Continuity Nod:
    • Shockwave has a battle with three Frost Giants on Cybertron, and notes their mystical cold powers. Later, when Optimus, Clark, Brainiac-5 and Grimlock find the Dinobots on Cybertron, they reveal they'd felt an unnatural cold at one point, clearly referring to the time of this fight.
    • Magneto refers to the battle between the Inhumans and SHIELD at one point.
  • Crapsack World:
    • Earth-1 can be considered this, considering how many horror franchises exist on it at the same time.
    • The Flashpoint timeline on Earth-52 is quite the depressing timeline.
  • Crazy-Prepared: Doctor Doom is prepared for pretty much everything. Every time one of the Heroes think they have the upper hand on him, he does something that surprises them instead, not to mention his diplomatic immunity. Even when the Injustice League try to recruit him, they fall into a cell that depowers Zoom the moment they enter Latveria, and are completely at his mercy.
  • Cruel and Unusual Death: Dinah Drake and Officer Martinez are killed very brutally by Jason Voorhees and Freddy Krueger respectively. Its par the course for what the two slashers are capable of, but kills this graphic are not present in the other parts of the story, even with the other slashers.
  • Curb-Stomp Battle:
    • Eliot Spencer defeats the entirety of the Triad in his first appearance, and also defeats Team Arrow easily, including Oliver who is not fighting at his best right now.
    • Lucifer Morningstar effortlessly demolishes Count Lucifer and most of his army, before summoning Pinhead to take Count Lucifer away for torture.
    • The Injustice League try to recruit Megatron, who refuses to join them. Zoom tries to attack him but is swatted away like a fly, half of his bones being broken. The Injustice League promptly retreats.
    • Damien Darhk is unable to stand up to Gandalf the Grey, and Carrie White, Spike and Mari being with him makes it even easier for Damien to lose.
    • Bart Allen effortlessly defeats Earth-52 Eobard Thawne without breaking a sweat.
    • While Kingdom Hearts' Sephiroth's slaughter of The Boys comics' world happens off-screen, its pretty clear that his battle against the entirety of that world was very one-sided in his favor.
  • Death as Comedy:
    • Curtis' death is very embarrassing, as Chucky vomits alcohol he'd drunk on his bare foot while he is touching a power unit, electrocuting him to death.
    • Numfar is killed by Derek Hale, who rips his heart out of his left butt-cheek. Even he is weirded out by that when he comes to his senses later.
  • Death by Adaptation:
    • Curtis Holt and Dinah Drake are killed by Chucky and Jason Voorhees respectively during their rampages.
    • Liza Warner gets killed by Adrian Chase to cover his tracks.
    • The Earth-1 version of Eddie Slick is sliced apart by Michael Myers.
    • The H20 Timeline version of Michael Myers is decapitated by Angel.
    • Numfar is killed by Derek Hale who rips his heart out of his left butt-cheek.
    • Word of God says Vince Sobel died in the Particle Accelerator Explosion in this series, and never became Vigilante.
    • Since Cecily and Halfrek are different people here, its mentioned that Cecily died all those years ago, though its not clear how just yet.
    • Officer Martinez gets Scarecrow's fear toxin sprayed on his face, and is killed brutally by Freddy Krueger.
    • Mei is used by Adrian Chase as a decoy, and even though Oliver and Sara stop before they can accidentally kill her, there's a bomb attached to her that kills her anyways.
    • Andrew Wells is slain by none other than Ultron, alongside Warren Mears and Jonathan Levinson.
  • Death of a Child:
    • One of Chucky's victims is a little girl.
    • The BX commando droids kill everyone they find in a camp, including some teenagers.
    • Freddy Krueger kills a teenage girl during his murder spree.
  • Decomposite Character:
    • Its revealed that the Jim Phelps from the first Mission: Impossible movie was not the same Jim Phelps from the Mission: Impossible TV Series. The original Jim Phelps had a stroke and seemingly died, so the agency replaced him with a man who bore a passing resemblance to him, and had the same planning methods as him, and gave him the 'Jim Phelps' name instead. Unfortunately, he did not have the original Phelps' moral code.
    • Cecily and Halfrek are different people in this series, and the author has said they shall reveal the reason for both of them having the same face in time.
  • Defiant to the End: Krell asks Steve if he has any last words before getting killed. Steve's response? "I can do this all day." Fortunately, this is not Steve's end.
  • Defrosting the Ice Queen: Parker ends up training Felicia Hardy to be a thief, and both of them do this for each other. Felicia eventually shows more vulnerability around Parker, showing there is more to her than just some smug self-assurance, while Parker also goes beyond simply calling Felicia out for her mistakes during training eventually.
  • Deliberate Values Dissonance: Aragorn comes from the world of Middle-earth, where the only evil creatures are those that work for Sauron, such as Orcs and Trolls. Men, Elves and Dwarves can be flawed, but they are always good for the most part, other than cases like Bill Ferny. But on Earth-1, he sees Lewis Snart (a Man!) willing to kill his own daughter to get what he wants, Michael Myers (another Man!) going on a brutal murder spree, and Vandal Savage (yet another Man!) eating manflesh like Orcs do. Saying Aragorn is disgusted would be an understatement. Fortunately, Aragorn also meets Team Flash, Team Arrow and Batman, and is very impressed by their nobility and heroism.
  • Demoted to Extra: Curtis Holt, Dinah Drake and Iris West are completely cut out, the former two being killed off and the latter being written out.
  • Destination Defenestration: Ethan Hunt kicks Rick Flag through a glass window at the end of their fight.
  • Determinator:
    • Steve Rogers truly can do this all day, whether he is facing a fallen Jedi like Krell or a machine like Ultron. No matter how much he is beaten down, he gets back up and fights back.
    • Thor ends up being sent to the Underworld of Devil May Cry, where the Demons nearly kill him, but he unleashes his true power and beats them back instead until he finds a way back to his world.
  • Did Not See That Coming:
    • Earth-2 Eddie Slick is confident none of Aragorn's weapons can hurt him. But Aragorn's fists manage to not just hurt him, but even send him flying.
    • The shape-shifter from Earth-205 has taken the form of Count Dracula. Then Angel takes his Vamp face in front of him, terrifying him.
    • Steve ends up firing bullets from a handgun at Krell. Krell thinks he can deflect them with his lightsabers like he does to blaster bolts. Only, when he tries to do so, the slugs melt and the molten shrapnel is sent into Krell's chest and shoulders.
    • The Vampires think Sora will be easy prey. Then he summons his Keyblade!
    • Some Pyleans try to attack Derek Hale in spite of his warnings. They all get ripped apart.
    • Sean Sonus tries to use his powers on Jason. Jason quickly recovers and brutally murders him.
    • Tony thinks he has Doom figured out, having discovered the 'magic' he was using until now was Quantum Manipulation. Then Doom uses actual magic and overpowers Tony again.
    • Kirt Niedrigh has unleashed Doomsday upon New Krypton, and tries to escape, but is foiled by the Ninth Doctor, Jack Harkness and Rose Tyler, as well as Booster Gold, and then many soldiers working for EarthGov arrive to arrest him, due to his criminal acts of war, which shocks him and delights Nine, who tells Niedrigh not all humans are warmongers like he is.
    • Vladek gets his hands on Snart's Cold Gun and decides to kill him with it. But there is a biometric scanner on it, which freezes his right hand instead, allowing Leonard to take his Cold Gun back, and kill him with it.
    • The entire faculty from The Cabin in the Woods are surprised when Ash Williams appears and kills them all. And later, he ends up taking out the Ancient Ones as well, simply with his boomstick.
  • Didn't Think This Through: The Injustice League do not seem to realize the inherent flaw in approaching people like Megatron and Doctor Doom to recruit them into their group, since one is a powerful, egotistical alien and a leader, while the other is a ruler of his nation. What use would they have joining a group they'd consider to be beneath them?
  • Dies Differently in Adaptation:
    • The Black Racer is not defeated by Bart Allen, rather by Clark Kent absorbing Bart's speed to increase his own briefly.
    • Amanda Waller is not shot by Joyner. Instead, her personal files are first stolen by Oliver, Hunt and the Leverage crew, and later, while she is fuming, Talia kills her and takes away a chip ARGUS made that has the fighting styles of the world's best fighters downloaded onto it.
    • Hugo Martinez does not get his heart ripped out by Rambo. Instead, a Predator kills him and all his men.
    • Instead of being shot to death by Dinah Drake, Sean Sonus has his head frozen in liquid Nitrogen by Jason Voorhees, then shattered upon the table.
    • Damien Darhk is not stabbed by Oliver. Instead, a shuriken from Adrian to his neck does him in. Later, Adrian also slaughters the entirety of HIVE, including Ruvé Darhk.
    • The Director is not stabbed by Patience Buckner from behind. Instead, Ash Williams shoots her in the face.
    • Warren Mears and Jonathan Levinson both get killed by an Ultron drone.
  • Disney Death: Zoom ends up falling off a cliff. Its later shown that he survived.
  • Doppelgänger Gets Same Sentiment:
    • The Leverage crew are shocked on seeing Quentin Lance, as his doppelganger was a bad guy on their Earth.
    • Sora instantly becomes friends with the Remake Cloud, Tifa and Aerith of Earth-7, and when he first sees Earth-7 Sephiroth, he notes the guy looks just as bad as the Sephiroth of Radiant Garden/Hollow Bastion, if not worse.
    • Thor feels some friendly affection for Earth-21 Wonder Woman as she looks just like Lady Sif.
  • Double Standard: Abuse, Female on Male: Averted. Its pointed out by Natasha that Peggy shooting at Steve without letting him explain that the secretary started the kiss first was very wrong. Steve agrees, but he still has a soft spot for Peggy, which is why he refuses to badmouth her even while knowing she was wrong. He does not see her as perfect anymore though.
  • The Dragon:
    • Zoom is this for the Injustice League.
    • Pinhead is used by Lucifer Morningstar to go after certain bad guys.
  • Dramatic Irony:
    • Tiffany apologizes to Ruvé Adams for the unfortunate death of her twin, Diane, when she was the one who killed Diane many years ago, something that Ruvé is unaware of.
    • Joe sees Virgil Hawkins and Richie Foley having an intense discussion in hushed whispers at one point, and simply assumes they're discussing the typical teenager stuff. Little does he know they're actually planning Virgil's superhero debut.
  • Drop Dead Gorgeous: The naked Dinah Drake after Jason Voorhees splits her into two with his machete.
  • Dumbass Has a Point: Ash may be drunk and acting stupidly, but he has a point in that reading random strange books in cabins is a stupid move. He speaks from experience too.
  • Enemy Mine: Not a direct team-up, but in Dark Waters, Adrian Chase actually attacks HIVE, and has the same agenda as Oliver Queen, due to Damien having taken his wife Doris too.
  • Establishing Character Moment:
    • Ethan Hunt jumps off The Bus in his very first appearance, a cord tied to his back as he jumps through a breach, then hangs above Coruscant on the other end, just to prove the theory that these breaches send people into other worlds.
    • Eliot Spencer defeats some Triad thugs and the entirety of Team Arrow, including Oliver (who is not fighting at his best) in his very first scene, establishing his nearly unbeatable combat skills.
    • John Rambo blows up The Creeper in his first appearance.
    • Vandal Savage not only slaughters the ship's crew and the cop when he first appears, but also rips out the captain's heart with his knife and eats it, showing he is a cannibal too.
    • Freddy Krueger narrates his entire life-story when he first appears, in his usual maniacal way, listing his origins, his greatest kills and his defeats, before saying its time to kill some people in their dreams again.
    • Earth-1 Clark Kent makes his entrance by saving Sandra and Connor from a truck about to run them down.
  • Even Evil Has Standards:
    • Both Megatron and Doctor Doom consider the Injustice League to be a weak, ineffective group that is beneath them, and send them packing.
    • Its a stretch to call Leonard, Lisa and Mick evil. But they were petty crooks when they found out about Werner Vladek's plans to kill a 10 year old girl threatening his claim to the throne, and decided to stop him, albeit reluctantly in Mick's case.
  • Evil Counter Part: The only way for Blade to return home is to fight and defeat an evil counterpart of his in the Shrine in the Depths. This evil version has let the bloodlust take over him.
  • Evil vs. Evil:
    • Adrian Chase ends up in conflict with Takeo Yamashiro, as both want to kill Oliver Queen, and neither one wants the other to take their kill. Adrian even appears one Season earlier due to Takeo. Eventually, Adrian wins.
    • Adrian also ends up in conflict with Damien Darhk over the same reason. And eventually, Darhk is taken out too, as is the rest of HIVE.
    • Shockwave fights and defeats three Frost Giants, and takes them away for experimentation.
    • Jason Voorhees does not discriminate during his rampages. Sean Sonus and his thugs are all slaughtered by him.
    • Megatron and Doctor Doom consider the Injustice League to be beneath them, and both send the group packing on two separate occasions.
    • The Trio are all mercilessly slaughtered by an Ultron drone.
  • Expy:
    • The Power That Be by the name of Jossetta Whedonasta is clearly meant to be an unflattering, fictional one of Joss Whedon.
    • Damien Darhk ends up becoming one of Tobias Church, as he keeps coming in between Oliver and Adrian Chase.
  • Face Your Fears: Oliver lets Jonathan Crane spray him with his fear toxin at one point so he can fight Freddy Krueger and pull him into the real world. His greatest fear is Star City burning due to the actions of Slade Wilson, his most personal foe so far.
  • Failed a Spot Check: Felicia has to escape an airport without getting caught as part of her training by Parker. She avoids all the cameras and gets out, but Parker still fails her. Because she missed one camera that was just outside the airport.
  • Fan Disservice: Dinah Drake completely naked. And split into two from bottom to top by Jason Voorhees' machete.
  • Fanservice: Before the naked Dinah is killed by Jason, there is a brief bit of her skinny dipping in some water nearby.
  • Fatal Flaw:
    • Dogma is good at following orders. Problem is that he is too good at this, and never stops to think if the order makes sense or not, being blindly loyal to whoever ranks the highest in the chain of command. Because of this, he chooses to follow someone like Krell, whose bad strategies are getting Clones killed, over Steve Rogers of all people.
    • Ben can turn into many powerful aliens with the Omnitrix, but after a while, he comes back to normal and it needs to recharge, which is a big flaw in his abilities.
  • Fiery Redhead: The Wally West of Earth-3 is exactly this- snarky and overconfident while having bright red hair.
  • Fire-Forged Friends:
    • Eliot and Oliver first meet when Eliot beats up the entire Team Arrow. Its later revealed he did this to try and make Oliver fight at his full potential again, and he eventually succeeds. Pretty much from their second meeting onwards, the two start bantering, and eventually become good friends, even brothers, sharing intimate secrets with each other.
    • Blade has a falling out with the Death Watch due to them using him to get drugs of all things, but he does end up becoming friends with Bo-Katan, who was nothing but polite to him during his entire stay, and even returns his shades when they fall off during his battle with Count Dooku. The two wish each other well when they part ways.
    • Blade and Quinlan Vos first meet when they fight off Count Dooku together. And while Blade refuses to admit it, Vos is definitely someone he considers a friend.
  • Fish out of Water: Steve and Blade are very lost when they end up on Umbara and Tatooine respectively in Universe-208, especially the latter, as he was just a Vampire-hunting Daywalker, now he is in a high-tech galaxy with blasters, spaceships and powerful monks with shiny swords.
  • Fish out of Temporal Water: Aragorn accidentally ends up in Central City on Earth-1, and is very confused by the futuristic technology he sees, though Team Flash is able to help him grasp some basics, even though the customs still surprise him. Eventually, he is able to make some basic scientific deductions too, in his own words.
  • Five-Man Band:
    • The Leverage team briefly form one alongside Oliver Queen and Ethan Hunt:
    • There is an evil version of this with the Injustice League as well right now, due to it having 5 members:
      • Lex Luthor- The Leader (He is the one with the ideas and the main plan)
      • Vandal Savage- The Lancer (He is the most ruthless of the group, and not easy to control)
      • Hunter Zolomon- The Big Guy (He is the most powerful out of these five)
      • Helmut Zemo- The Heart (He is not a good guy, but in this group, he is the Only Sane Man, and tries to keep the others grounded)
      • Malcolm Merlyn- The Smart Guy (He has knowledge regarding many subjects on his Earth due to being Ra's al Ghul)
  • Forced to Watch:
    • Not exactly watch, but Steve is arrested by Krell for standing up to him, and after that, all he can do is hear about how Krell's strategies are getting the Clones killed.
    • Some Heroes on Earth-199999, such as the SHIELD Team, the Leverage crew and Hunt's IMF Team can do nothing but sit by and watch as Ultron takes over the Internet and nukes, having no choice but to put their faith in the Avengers and other Heroes.
  • Foreshadowing:
    • Whenever the characters are sent through a breach, they see various characters in various worlds. The last character they see before reaching their destination is a character who exists on the world where they've fallen, which is clearly an indication to where the character has landed.
    • Gandalf the Grey meets Aslan at one point, who tells him he too shall be needed in other worlds later. Gandalf ends up on Earth-1 and takes out Damien Darhk to rescue Oliver's son.
    • When Sam and Dean meet the Oliver Queen of their Earth to help him out with his case, he tells them that a couple found an egg in their garden, and a creature launched out of it, latching onto the husband's face. Hours later, the creature let go and wasn't seen again. Then later, another creature burst out of the husband's chest, turned bigger, and is killing people. What could this creature be? Why a Xenomorph of course.
    • Iris mentions to Lois Lane that there is a Lois Lane on Earth-1 too. An Earth-1 version of Superman shows up later.
  • For Want Of A Nail:
    • Eliot falls into Star City on Earth-1 during early Season Four, and because of him, Oliver regains his fighting prowess, intellect and backbone, and goes back to the List.
    • Due to Takeo Yamashiro trying to go after Oliver, Adrian Chase comes in one Season early too, and his presence ruins Damien's plans as well.
    • Aragorn ends up in Central City on Earth-1, and Batman arrives there shortly too. Because of the two of them, Zoom is exposed quickly and forced to flee.
    • Constantine cures both Sara and Thea of their bloodlust right after Sara is brought back, while Talia arrives in Star City, and Malcolm is recruited by the Injustice League. Due to these reasons, Nyssa escapes captivity earlier than she did in canon, but the League Civil War has not happened yet.
    • Since a Predator kills Hugo Martinez and all his men, the events of Rambo: Last Blood shall never happen now.
    • Due to the crossover characters in the Musical episode, the Scoobies start getting past their issues earlier than in canon.
    • Derek Hale ends up fighting and killing some Pyleans when they attack him, including Numfar, because of which Groo is not banished from Pylea, meaning he shall not come in the way when Angel and Cordelia try to get together.
    • Due to the Leverage crew's interference, Roy Harper ends up returning to Star City permanently in Arrow Season 4, his name being cleared.
    • Because Optimus Prime and Grimlock end up in the future on Earth-21 accidentally, they meet Clark, Brainiac-5 and the Ninth Doctor, with the latter two making some devices to allow them to transport themselves between worlds and times, and these devices also help them in finding the remaining Dinobots still in Cybertron, with Brainiac-5 taking Sludge with him to try and revive him. And this means that the Autobots shall have the Dinobots to help them out from the start of Transformers: Prime.
    • Magneto approaches Wanda and Pietro, revealing his relation to them, and recruits them into the Brotherhood. So, they never join the Ultron conflict on either side.
    • Due to the Multiverse being opened up, Ultron receives more information than it did in the movie, and so, it has a completely different personality, and a very different manner of reaching its final goal. Because of this, Vision is not created either as of now.
  • Framing the Guilty Party: At one point, the Leverage team assist Oliver Queen (Arrowverse) in essentially framing Senator Cray for his various crimes after Agent Smith warns Oliver's ally Lyla not to go after the senator even though Team Arrow are fully aware that (among other things) Cray hired mercenaries to attack himself and then accused the dead Floyd Lawton of being behind it. After Oliver and the Leverage team arrange a meeting with Cray to discuss setting up Chinese immigrants as illegal labour, they not only steal and release all information of Cray's criminal deals, but then release a doctored video of Cray's meeting with Oliver, now edited to show Cray meeting with Chien Na Wei, planting the idea that he is actually working with the Chinese triad.
  • Godzilla Threshold: A Tonberry is the hardest foe until that point the Avengers end up facing, with only a joint attack by Clark Kent and Thor being able to take it down.
  • Good Feels Good: Leonard, Mick and Lisa take down Count Werner Vladek, who planned to kill a 10 year old girl since she threatened his claim to the throne. Leonard and Lisa feel quite good about it and decide to be bad guys for the good guys, though Mick is still grumbling about it.
  • Greater-Scope Villain: The voice that is enticing the slasher villains to attack the Heroes has its own great plan, which is a mystery for now, as is the identity of whoever the voice belongs to.
  • Half the Man He Used to Be:
    • Michael Myers chops Earth-1 Eddie Slick into two.
    • Jason kills Dinah Drake by cutting her into half from bottom to top.
  • Happily Married:
    • Nathan Ford and Sophie Devereaux are both in a happy marriage.
    • Tommy Jarvis and Megan Garris are married with two children- Timmy and Tucker.
    • It is mentioned that Ginny Field and Paul Holt are happily together too.
    • Selene and Michael Corvin are happily married with a daughter- Eva.
  • Heartbroken Badass:
    • Eliot still feels guilty over all the bad deeds he has done in the past. No matter how much good he does with the Leverage crew, he will never forgive himself for his past.
    • After the incident on Umbara, all of Steve's feelings since he got out of ice catch up with him at last, and he breaks down, Natasha comforting him.
    • The Ninth Doctor is still very torn up over the genocide of Time Lords and Daleks, and many more, that he was forced to commit, and only Optimus Prime's reassurances help him believe in himself again.
    • Ciri continues to be haunted by all that she has gone through since the fall of Cintra, and deeply misses Geralt and Yennefer, wishing she got a happy ending with them. Due to this, she is quite cynical too.
  • Heel–Face Turn: Not exactly one, but Rick Flag is allowed a chance to redeem himself for his actions under Waller by doing good under Lyla Michaels instead.
  • Heroic BSoD: Steven Lloyd has one when he sees Michael Myers make his return, firing at him continuously, even when he has run out of bullets, because that's just how shocked he is. If not for Aragorn's intervention, that'd have been the end of Lloyd.
  • Heroic Sacrifice:
    • Clark is ready to fall into the sun if it means taking Doomsday down with him. Fortunately for him, the Legion of Super-Heroes, Optimus Prime and Grimlock have other plans.
    • Dawn covers the unconscious Sora with her own body when Master Xehanort tries to possess him with a piece of his darkness. Fortunately, Lea appears and saves them both.
  • Hidden Agenda Villain: A mysterious voice is reaching out to various slasher villains, provoking them into killing more people and attacking the Heroes, but it is not known still who this entity is, or what it even wants.
  • Hidden Depths:
    • Thor surprises Tony and Banner when he keeps up with them both in a scientific conversation, albeit by using different terminology due to his Asgardian upbringing.
    • At one point, Parker notes that her criticism of Felicia during training actually did upset the teenage thief, when until then she'd a smug self-assurance about her.
  • Hoist by His Own Petard:
    • At one point, Steve uses Krell's own lightsaber to cut off one of his arms.
    • Damien Darhk abducts Doris Chase alongside Oliver's loved ones in an attempt to get to him. It just puts him in Prometheus' crosshairs.
  • Hope Spot: Tony manages to figure out Doom's 'magic' is actually Quantum Manipulation, and even hacks him later, but Doom easily overcomes him and the others each time, and due to his diplomatic immunity, is unable to be taken out.
  • Humiliation Conga:
    • Zoom is the Fastest Punching Bag Alive in this story. He was first exposed by Batman, Aragorn and Harry, while Batman beat him up, then even if he overpowered Barry with his drug, it had consequences for him as he was weakened, his three main meta-humans got taken out, then Aragorn chopped off his arm, and even before Lex and Zemo gave him the Satan's Claw, they verbally humiliated him, then Megatron swatted him away like a fly and broke half his bones, and Doom destroyed the Satan's Claw.
    • Damien got badly humiliated in his final appearance too. Spike first drained some of his blood, and when he angrily tried to suck out Spike's life-force, it reflected back on him due to Spike being a Vampire. Then Gandalf effortlessly overpowered him, and Carrie slowed down his heart to force him to summon his idol. When he did that, Gandalf shattered his idol easily, before Oliver and Spike beat him down, and then Adrian killed him with a shuriken from a distance.
  • Hypocrite:
    • Lex Luthor and Malcolm Merlyn mock both the Oliver Queens as well as Ray Palmer for playing superhero instead of running their business. The two of them are more interested in playing supervillain for petty reasons, unlike the Olivers and Ray, who help their cities with their actions.
    • Adrian calls out Oliver for the death of his father (who was a horrible person trying to profit off an epidemic he himself caused in Lamb Valley), only for Sara to point out that Adrian himself killed many people simply to rearrange their bodies in the same way as 4 years ago.
  • Hypocritical Humor: Ash Williams calls Dana and Marty dumbasses for reading from a strange book in a cabin. What had he done in a cabin all those years ago?
  • I Did What I Had to Do: This is how Krell justifies his weak strategies that get the Clones killed by Umbaran forces. Steve isn't buying it one bit. And he is right not to.
  • Ignored Epiphany: Blade feels something off from Palpatine when they first meet, even finding the feeling worse than what he felt from Deacon Frost after he became La Magra. But unfortunately, he is in a hurry to get back home, and does not do much about this feeling.
  • Immortal Immaturity: Why does Lucifer Morningstar arrive on Earth-84 to deal with Count Lucifer? Because he could hear his whining through breaches all the way to Hell and it annoyed him too much.
  • Implausible Deniability: This is how Senator Cray is taken down by Oliver, Hunt and the Leverage crew. Some secrets about him, such as beating up and killing some prostitutes, as well as the mess in the Republic of Kasnia, are all leaked out by an undercover Hunt. Then a meeting he had with Oliver is modified to make it look like he was meeting China White instead, and due to what they were discussing, its easy to believe that White was the one he was speaking to. So, a lot of truth, mixed with one big lie, takes him down, and he is unable to do anything but have a Villainous Breakdown and cry while he is arrested.
  • Infodump:
    • Steven Lloyd tells Joe all about Michael Myers, and his own history with the serial killer, when Michael makes his return.
    • The Avengers, as well as Clark and Bart, tell the cliff-notes versions of their backstories to each other.
    • Gandalf, Aragorn and Lord Elrond tell Spike about the history of the One Ring, as well as Sauron.
    • When Team Flash meet Selene and Michael, they are told about the events of the first three Underworld films.
  • Information Wants to Be Free:
    • This is how Oliver makes Waller back off from Eliot and any other breachers she wants to get her hands on, by stealing her files alongside the Leverage crew and Hunt, and threatening to leak them if she makes another move.
    • Cray wants to run for President, so its obvious he will have detractors who want to take him down. Unfortunately for him, there are many secrets in his closet. And people like Oliver, Hunt and the Leverage crew are very good at getting those secrets.
  • Internal Reveal: Eliot tells Oliver that he met his biological father, that being John Rambo. But the readers already know all about it by this point.
  • In Spite of a Nail:
  • It's Personal:
    • The Leverage crew and Ethan Hunt all want to hurt Waller for what she did to Eliot. Oliver also joins them, not just because of Eliot, but because of his bad history with Waller.
    • While the other young Heroes simply want to save Sora because its the right thing to do, Dawn also wants to save him because he helped save her from Sweet before.
  • I Warned You: After its revealed that the fake Jay Garrick was Zoom all along, Barry pretty much says 'I told you so' to Cisco, Caitlin and the rest of his team, as he was suspicious of 'Jay' at the start, only releasing him because of his team thinking Barry has stopped trusting people due to Thawne, and also because of Earth-2 Eddie Slick and Michael Myers being threats at the same time.
  • Jerkass Has a Point:
    • Eliot beats up Oliver easily in their first ever encounter, only to tell Oliver that if he was fighting at his best, he could have given Eliot a very hard fight. Eliot simply wanted Oliver to start fighting at his best again and regain his backbone.
    • While Dean is a jerk to Buffy about it, he has a point in that simply wallowing in her depression due to being pulled out of Heaven without letting her friends know why she is angry at them is not a good thing, and she should stop blaming them since they did not know she was in Heaven.
    • Earth-52 Eobard Thawne is a psychopath, but he is right to say that Barry is responsible for the devastation in the Flashpoint timeline.
  • Just Like Robin Hood:
    • The Leverage crew are still going at it, as expected.
    • Oliver Queen returns to the List, deciding to once more go after the rich and the corrupt who hurt the little guy in Star City.
    • Leonard, Mick and Lisa decide to do this too eventually, though Mick is not the biggest fan of the idea as of now.
  • Karma Houdini:
    • Doctor Doom gets away with all he has done due to his diplomatic immunity.
    • Averted with Art the Clown, Senator Joseph Cray and Amy Madison, as Art is sent to Hell by John Constantine, Cray's truth is exposed to all, while Amy gets a beatdown for sabotaging Willow's rehab.
  • Killed Off for Real:
    • Curtis Holt, Dinah Drake and Officer Martinez are all killed by Chucky, Jason Voorhees and Freddy Krueger respectively.
    • The Trio all die at the hands of an Ultron drone.
  • Killed Offscreen:
    • Adrian Chase slaughters all the prisoners of Damien Darhk during his assault on the HIVE base, which means that Evelyn Sharp and her family have been killed too.
    • Most of the characters from The Boys comics are all killed by Kingdom Hearts' Sephiroth off-screen, both good or evil.
  • The Leader:
    • Steve Rogers is the leader of the Avengers, always leading them to victory even in desperate odds. He also becomes a leader of the Clones during his stay on Umbara, and the Clones all prefer to follow him over Krell for obvious reasons.

    • Optimus Prime shows his leadership qualities very well during the conflict between Niedrigh and New Krypton, encouraging the New Kryptonians to use their powers and fight Doomsday.

    • Ahsoka Tano takes charge of all the young Heroes during the battle against Young Xehanort and coordinates a plan of attack, that eventually succeeds.

  • Life Drinker: Damien Darhk's powers involve him sucking out the life force of people and empowering himself.
  • Loophole Abuse: Used by Ash Williams to take down the Ancient Ones. They could not be harmed by medieval weapons, but he has a shotgun, and wounds them all with it, making them retreat, and saving the world.
  • The Lost Lenore: Downplayed with Steve and Peggy. While she still has a place in his heart, his view of her is much more grounded, and he does not think of her as perfect due to the time she shot at him without letting him explain that the secretary initiated the kiss with him.

    • Vandal Savage reveals that he is the one who taught the Sawyer Family and Hannibal Lecter cannibalism.

    • In spite of some roadblocks, Master Xehanort's plan is close to succeeding, and would have succeeded if not for Lea's intervention.
  • Massive Multiplayer Crossover: The entire series is pretty much this, full of characters from various fandoms of any genre interacting and teaming up. The first story was just supposed to be a crossover between Tolkien's Legendarium, Marvel Cinematic Universe, Star Wars, Buffyverse, Smallville, Supernatural and Arrowverse, but already, many more fandoms have been involved, and the list keeps on expanding.

  • Megaton Punch: Bart Allen sends the Flashpoint versions of Aquaman and Wonder Woman flying off to Pacific Ocean and a desert in Egypt respectively with his punches.
  • The Mentor:
    • Aragorn becomes a mentor of sorts to Team Flash. While all of them have advanced scientific and technical knowledge, he is older than all of them with much more experience in life, and his advice helps all of them a lot in dealing with their personal issues and being better Heroes.
    • Similarly, Eliot Spencer acts as a mentor for Oliver Queen, helping him reach his full potential once more.
    • Jay Garrick is the mentor for Earth-3 Wally West.

Eliot also asks Hunt if the popcorn has a tracer to track whoever eats it, considering its also IMF stuff.
    • When Sora ends up on Earth-92 during the Musical, at first, Ventus, Roxas and Xion sing through him, and all of their songs are very depressing due to what they've gone through, Dawn even being moved to tears during Xion's song. Then Sora himself starts singing, and to her shock, his song is pretty much a mantra of positivity, and even brings Buffy out of her depression.
    • Chapter 17 of 'Heroes coming together' has many serious plotlines going on, such as Steve and the Clones discovering Krell's treachery, causing Steve to engage in a brutal fight with Krell, while Vandal Savage is introduced, and he is also a vile cannibal. • Myth Arc: Lots of storylines are ongoing throughout this tale, but there are definitely some long-running plots:

    • After the defeat of Ultron, the Avengers set up a new base and plan to recruit many more superheroes from all over the world to expand their ranks, and this is clearly going on off-screen.

  • One-Man Army:
    • The Clones note how strong and fast Steve is, being able to keep up with Anakin physically, and even outrun him. And he takes out powerful Umbaran machines on his own, albeit with major difficulty, aweing the Clones at his abilities.
    • Blade and the Death Watch are a similar case, with Blade clearing nearly an entire train full of Pykes so fast that Bo-Katan and the rest of the Death Watch are in utter shock.
    • Sephiroth is able to hold back Sora, Riku, Cloud, Tifa, Aerith, Barret and Red XIII all by himself, and while they all tire out, he doesn't even break a sweat.
    • Young Xehanort fights off many young Heroes alone. Their teamwork and strategy does manage to overpower him, but he was close to winning many times.
  • On Second Thought: Sam and Dean agree at first that Giles is right to leave the Scoobies, as Buffy is too reliant on him, and would learn to grow up without him, like they did without John. Then they find out Giles knows Willow is spiraling and still choosing to leave. At that point, they call him out for not handling Willow's magic problem well.
  • Only Sane Man: Helmut Zemo seems to be the only one in the Injustice League who doesn't go as far as the rest of them, and even tries to advice the others against some more extreme courses of action, like resurrecting Vandal Savage or trying to recruit Megatron of all people.
  • One-Steve Limit: Averted so far, as even characters who're doppelgangers of each other aren't at the same place or even on the same Earth most of the time, so its clear who is who, and no designations need to be given to differentiate between them as of now. However, at one point, Final Fantasy VII Remake Sephiroth and Kingdom Hearts Sephiroth do end up meeting. Of course, they end up fusing into one being a few minutes later.
  • Only the Chosen May Wield: Thor's hammer Mjolnir can only be wielded by those it deems worthy. And so far, its only Thor, and secretly Steve.

  • Original Character:
    • The Powers That Be from the Buffyverse appear in person at one point in this series, and many individual ones have been introduced and named, those being- Balial (the ruler of the Powers That Be), Behmen, Nigue, Jossetta Whedonasta (clearly meant to be an unflattering fictional Expy of Joss Whedon), Talzin and Vasoros (who is said to be the one who gives Cordelia her visions).

    • Megatron doesn't outright kill the Injustice League, and only breaks half of Zoom's bones while swatting him away, while also giving them one chance to retreat. They're all lucky they didn't die.
    • Spike has several of these towards the Hobbits when he is in Middle-earth, as they remind him of Dawn. He risks his life to protect them multiple times, and even sucks out some poisoned blood from Frodo after the Witch-King stabs him. Safe to say, the four Hobbits are a very good influence on Spike.
    • Doom backs down from hurting the Heroes due to his feelings for Susan Storm.
  • Pragmatic Villainy: Doctor Doom is an effective threat because he does not cause unnecessary destruction. He only accomplishes what he wants, nothing more and nothing less, and leaves.

  • "The Reason You Suck" Speech: The Ninth Doctor has a scathing one for Niedrigh when he is finally stopped:
"I told you; I will stop you. And the rest of humanity is much better than you are. As you can see, these people are good, and have morality, unlike you! Morality enough to not partake in this senseless war!"
  • Redemption Quest: Leonard, Lisa and Mick have started one, deciding to target only those rich people who hurt the little guy. Though Mick is still reluctant about this as of now.

As he says this, various superheroes are shown stopping Ultron's nukes.
    • Magneto of all people gives one before his latest plan, one that's meant for all the Mutants in the world, including those whose powers are dormant.
  • Running Gag:
    • Johnny Storm keeps doing some sort of mischief or the other ever since he has gotten his powers, and is always punished very hilariously for it all. The stand-out of this is when he keeps trying to fly out of the Avengers Tower for some fun but is stopped by one of Clint, Natasha, Susan or Bobby.
    • Hardcase keeps accidentally hurting Steve by playfully hitting him on areas where he has been injured.
  • Shell-Shocked Veteran: After the mess at Umbara, Steve has nightmares of of everything he and the Clones went through there, and then he rides to the memorial made after the Chitauri Invasion, remembering how the Chitauri had razed the city, explosions filling the streets. In his mind, the Chitauri then turn into Nazis and Hydra, the former riddling people with lead and the latter wiping out entire armies, leaving nothing. He hears German shouts, which then turn into Umbaran, with soldiers dying until its just him alone. Finally, for the first time since he woke up, Steve falls to his knees and breaks down, crying for all the lives lost in the war, the innocents who died in the Battle of New York, and all the Clones who were killed during the Battle of Umbara because of Krell. He even punches the pavement many times, imagining the faces of the enemies he has fought, even after his fists turn bloody, and thinks about all the brothers he has lost as well as the consequences of war, while wondering why he didn't do more. It remains that way until Natasha arrives to comfort him. Steve was clearly experiencing a lot of PTSD here from everything he has gone through since the 1940s.
  • Shipper on Deck: The other Avengers, mainly Clint and Tony, as well as Sam Wilson, tease Steve and Natasha a lot about their almost-romance, Clint even joking to Steve he is ordained. Though Clint does warn Steve not to hurt Natasha.

    • Lots of this with Steve and Natasha, and they are obviously going to become a couple in time.
    • There is some with Blade and Bo-Katan, but its unclear if anything will come of it.
    • This is also the case with Sora and Dawn, but according to Word of God, its completely unintentional.

  • Take That!: The beatdown of Oliver by Eliot during Arrow Season 4, and then Oliver eventually breaking up with Felicity, gaining a balance between his old approach and new approach, getting back his company to run alongside Ray Palmer, and returning to the List, is basically a protest against the poor writing quality of most of the later Seasons (outside of Season 5), since quite a few fans had many complaints against the later Seasons. There was also dissatisfaction with the writing for Oliver as well as his relationship with Felicity. Special mention also goes to Eliot being annoyed by Oliver struggling with Lonnie Machin and a bunch of corrupt cops, whom he could easily defeat.
  • A Taste of Their Own Medicine: Felicity complains to Oliver that Hardison has taken over the computers, only for Oliver to remind her that she did the same thing to Cisco before.

Then Gandalf effortlessly overpowered him, and Carrie slowed down his heart to force him to summon his idol. When he did that, Gandalf shattered his idol easily, before Oliver and Spike beat him down, and then Adrian killed him with a shuriken from a distance.

Then, Felicia has to escape from an airport without getting caught....while the systems have seemingly been given her face for being a suspected terrorist! Felicia also fails the test because one camera outside the airport does catch her. Another time, Felicia is failed because she is supposed to steal a specific amount of money, and is a buck short! Another time, Felicia has to escape from two cop cars because apparently there is a kilo of cocaine under her seat, and Parker is the one who called the cops. Then its revealed it was just cereal! Felicia even jokes she'll die from a heart attack due to the stress before they even get to actually stealing anything big. However, she does pass this test.

This helps her move past it finally. Willow also gets called out by Clark and Tara for her abuse of magic and erasing some of Tara's memory, Clark even throwing a sword at her and catching it seconds before it hit her to make her realize how easily great power can be abused by people, and finding out Buffy was pulled out of Heaven soon after makes Willow realize how bad she'd gotten with magic. Buffy is called out by Dean before the Musical, for wallowing in her depression and hating her friends for pulling her out of Heaven, without actually telling them her reasons, and also ignoring the fact that they did not know she was in Heaven.
