Sanctuary

The Students

    General

  • Found Family: In the span of a few days, they all already become close to each other to the point that they are violently protective in case one of them is threatened.
  • Massive Multiplayer Crossover: While four of them originate from BNHA canon, the rest of them are all from various different animes, video games, cartoons, and comics.
  • My Sister Is Off-Limits: They do not approve of Spinel, their baby sister, being approached romantically.
  • Ragtag Bunch of Misfits: Emi eloquently says it herself.
Emi: "Our classmates include two delinquents, at least seven people who grew up in labs, some of them not even fully human, two child soldiers and two vampires, shapeshifters, at least four students with literal references for their Quirk bases, and even a few directly related to known criminals…You'll find no judgment in our ranks."
  • Shipper on Deck: They all find Izuku and Ochako's interactions to be adorable.
  • What the Hell, Hero?: Their collective reaction when Izuku uses a sample of Amity's Abomination Goop to go Poison Dragon Slayer Mode and deliver a No-Holds-Barred Beatdown to Shoto.

    Izuku Midoriya

Izuku Midoriya

Quirk: Dragon Force, Transmutation

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/izuku_7.jpg
art by Rogelis

Reviled as 'The Mustafu Firestarter', Izuku Midoriya has had a hard life ever since his Quirk first awakened and destroyed a third of his city, killing his parents and countless others by pure accident. Even after being rescued from a lifetime of torture, Izuku still believes himself to be nothing more than a monster and a villain, despite what everyone tells him otherwise.

  • Always Someone Better: To the Todoroki Family and any Elemental Quirk user; with his Quirk fully manifested, he leaves them all in the dust.
  • Awesomeness by Analysis: It wouldn't be Izuku if he didn't delve into all the aspects of a person's Quirk and how they could improve with creative fever.
  • Berserk Button: His friends getting hurt and those who take the blessings they have for granted.
  • Beware the Nice Ones: He's normally a sweet, demure, and timid boy but if his buttons are pushed...
  • Big Damn Heroes: Smashes through REVOCS tower with Nui to save Ochako.
  • Brought Down to Normal: Loses his powers after Anga hits him with one of Overhaul's Quirk-erasing bullets.
  • Draconic Humanoid: The torture he endured under the vengeful scientists caused his Quirk to awaken and give him dragon-like qualities, such as wings, scales on certain parts of his body, sharper teeth, a pair of horns, and a tail.
  • Heroic Sacrifice: Attempts to cushion Ochacko as they fall to their apparent deaths.
  • Heroic Self-Deprecation: Due to the Firestarter Incident, Izuku has basically become convinced he is a mass murderer and a villain despite the whole thing starting over a complete accident.
  • I Let Gwen Stacy Die: How he feels about Ojiro's death at the USJ, holding himself responsible despite Tomura having been the actual killer.
  • Official Couple: He and Ochako are officially dating as of the end of the REVOCS Arc.
  • Powered by a Forsaken Child: Ragyo ATTEMPTS to do this with him, using his elemental-transmutation powers to power the REVOCS tower. Luckily, Nui prevents this.
  • Rape as Backstory: One of the ways the facility tortured Izuku was by having a Nomu (The same one from the USJ) pin him down in a dark pit and force itself on him.
  • Screw the Rules, I'm Doing What's Right!: Decides to help fight the COVERS even after being told to stand down.
  • Superpower Lottery: Basically what his Quirk gives him after it fully awakens. Originally, he could only create, control, and manipulate fire but thanks to the experiments done on him, he can now do the same for just about every element in existence.
  • Transmutation: He was infused with a second Quirk that allows him to manipulate matter with a touch ala Fullmetal Alchemist
  • What Is This Thing You Call "Love"?: Struggles to understand his funny but welcomed feelings for Ochako.
  • What You Are in the Dark: During the USJ attack, many are quick to recognize the Nomu as Izuku's rapist and work towards getting a traumatized Izuku out of the yeh area as quickly as possible. While terrified, the minute Izuku hears Katsuki is in danger, he races to fight against the monster who caused him so much pain.
    • An earlier example is when he freed Himiko. Despite all the pain and suffering that he went through, he still helped her break out and even gave her his All-Might toy...because she needed help.

    Himiko Bakugou (née Toga)

Himiko Bakugou

Quirk: Blacklight, Animorph

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/himiko_7.png

Originally a villain in one universe, this version of Himiko Toga is given a much better life and a more noble career path as a result.

  • Adaptational Heroism: Just the fact she's training to be a Hero is enough of a reason for this trope to exist.
  • Adaptational Relationship Overhaul: In canon, she and Katsuki are enemies on opposing sides. Here, they are lovers.
  • Adaptational Superpower Change: Originally, her Quirk only allowed her to transform into the people who she drank blood from. Now, due to being subjected to an experiment to 'cure' her of her blood obsession, she basically has the powers of Alex Mercer.
    • She was also infused with a second Quirk that allows her to transform into any animal from the animal kingdom like Beast Boy, as well as simply transform parts of her body into certain animal parts as well, such as her hands into praying mantis blades.
  • Battle Couple: With Katsuki.
  • Berserk Button: Abusive relatives and any general harm that comes to children.
  • Catch a Falling Star: She and Katsuki attempt to save Izuku and Ochako from falling to their deaths.
  • Happily Adopted: By the Bakugou Family.
  • Freudian Excuse Is No Excuse: Calls out Shoto for refusing to use his full power and risk endangering countless lives, including his own, just to spite Endeavor.
  • History Repeats Itself: During the REVOCS War, she sees a man in distress with no one to care for him amidst the chaos. She drops everything and helps him get to safety with patience and care, much like how Izuku did for her.
  • Shaming the Mob: When a Pro Hero complains about Himiko being too hard on Ochako during the Sports Festival, both girls dress him down and tell him that Himiko is showing Ochako the proper respect as a fellow Hero-in-Training and as a fighter.

    Melissa Shield

Melissa Shield

Quirk One For All

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/melissa_sheild.png

The daughter of renowned Support Course Scientist David Shield and goddaughter/niece of All Might, the Symbol of Peace, Melissa Shield is given the opportunity to inherit her godfather's legacy when she becomes the Ninth Holder of One For All.

  • Adaptational Badass: The fact that she's the one with One For All should give you a clue.
  • Adaptational Relationship Overhaul: In the original manga, Melissa's relationship with Mei Hatsume was merely being friends and fellow Support Inventors. Here, Melissa has developed a crush on Mei and the feeling is mutual.
  • Ascended Extra: Was a movie-original character in Canon but here, she's one of the main characters.
  • Daddy's Girl: Though she was brought to UA with her father's blessing, David still keeps close eyes on her to make sure she's safe.
  • First-Name Basis: Due to being from the States, she calls everyone by their first names most of the time.
  • Genius Bruiser: Characters have literally commented she is gifted with both brains and brawn.

    Hana Shimura

Hana Shimura

Quirk: Devil's Arsenal

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/hana_1.jpg
art by Rogelis

The granddaughter of the late hero, Nana Shimura. Hana was originally killed when her brother, Tenko, awakened his Quirk and killed his entire family. However, All for One and Dr. Ujiko saw potential in her and managed to piece her back together like a Frankenstein, infusing her with many powerful Quirks. However, she has since found herself in Class Sanctuary, hoping to redeem herself as a Hero.

  • Ascended Extra: Was originally just a part of Tomura Shigaraki's backstory and one of the casualties of his Quirk awakening. Now, she is given a second chance at life and at being a Hero.
  • Attractive Zombie: What her resurrection has basically made her in a sense, considering she's a pseudo-Nomu.
  • Dark and Troubled Past: Like in canon, her father harshly punished her and her brother for talking about heroes and wanting to be like them. Since she was brought back to life, Hana harbors immense guilt for betraying her brother in her Moment of Weakness.
  • Deadpan Snarker: She can be quite snarky with her friends at times.
  • My Greatest Failure: Hana still remembers the night she sold out Tenko to their father in her Moment of Weakness and regrets it even after being brought back to life. Seeing that her brother, who had always wanted to be a Hero, is now a ruthless Villain who hates them leaves her devastated.
  • Superpower Lottery: Upon her revival, she was infused with countless different Quirks that are basically the Devil Fruits from One Piece.

    Masato Oosuki

Masato Oosuki

Quirk: Evil Eyes

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/oosuki_masato.png

The son of Mamako Oosuki and Principal Nedzu, Masato can be considered one of the few members of Sanctuary not from a severely dark and traumatizing past. However, he still wants to help people all the same and is fiercely loyal and protective of his newfound friends.

  • Adaptational Superpower Change: While in his home series, he essentially had RPG powers along with his mother, here, he has the Rinnegan and Eternal Mangekyo Sharingan from Naruto
  • Attack of the 50-Foot Whatever: He manages to summon Madara's Perfect Susanoo to battle Rei Hoomaru's Krazor X
  • Belligerent Sexual Tension: With Katarina.
  • Big Damn Heroes: Summons the Gedo Statue to crush a giant COVER in order to help Luz and Amity.
  • Calling Your Attacks: Considering the manga that his powers are based on, he's willing to indulge in this.
  • Dangerous Forbidden Technique: Izuku mentions many of Masato's Dojutsu techniques are not safe for him to use. Izanami is so far the only shown example so far; using it destroys whatever eyes he uses it on, and it's implied to be the same with many of the other dangerous Dojutsu from Naruto. Downplayed in that Masato will regenerate the eye in a day or two.
  • Extremely Protective Child: While his mom may embarrass him, he cares deeply about her all the same. He also cares about his stepfather Nedzu and will not tolerate people making bestiality jokes about his and Mamako's relationship.
  • The Leader: While Amity and Izuku are the Class Rep and Vice-Rep, Masato tends to be the one who helps lead the gang in their important movements.
  • Momma's Boy: Despite often being embarrassed by his mother (just like in his home series), he still loves her and is grateful to have her in his life.
  • Not So Above It All: During his fight with Katsuki, the two end up going wild on each other in a manner similar to the fight between Madara Uchiha and Sosuke Aizen.
  • Only Sane Man: Since he doesn't have much trauma compared to the rest of his classmates, he comes off as less eccentric than them, not that he doesn't actually have any.
  • Related in the Adaptation: He is the stepson of Principal Nedzu in this setting.

    Crona Gorgon

Crona Gorgon

Quirk: Black Blood

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/crona_0.png

A teen of Ambiguous Gender with a Quirk that grants them a parasitic wisecracking partner known as Ragnarok and who is arguably one of the most nervous and timid members of Sanctuary besides Izuku. However, they are appreciative of the love and friendship they have found with everyone else.

  • Abusive Parents: Medusa Gorgon was just as horrible to them here.
  • Best Friend: Ends up becoming one of Izuku's closest friends in Sanctuary.
  • Bloody Murder: Crona's Quirk basically gives them all the same powers and capabilities in their home series.
  • Bully and Wimp Pairing: Their entire dynamic with Ragnarok in a nutshell.
  • Curb-Stomp Battle: After Ragnarok and Dark Shadow exhaust themselves in a Jojo-style battle during the Sports Festival, Crona summons their swords and knocks Fumikage out of bounds with a single hit.
  • Forgot About His Powers: Ends their fight with Fumikage in the Sports Festival by remembering their sword.
  • Master Swordsman: They can create swords made of their blood and Ragnarok himself to fight.
  • Morality Pet: Being the first person to show Izuku kindness and friendship when he introduces himself to Sanctuary, Crona has essentially cemented themselves as this for him.
  • Pet the Dog: As much of a Jerkass he can be at times, Ragnarok has never said an unkind word to Izuku.
  • Randomly Gifted: It's been hinted that Ragnarok actually isn't originally part of Crona's Quirk.

    Akira Kongoh

Akira Kongoh

Quirk: Kongoh Genes

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/akira_710.png

A large, tough, and ready delinquent with a heart of gold and is fiercely protective of his classmates as if they were his family. Akira is determined to show the world what a true man is; Strong, dependent, determined, and not afraid to show he cares.

  • Always Someone Better: He is this to Kirishima and Tetsutesu. He's on the receiving end of this with his brother, Takeshi.
  • Aw, Look! They Really Do Love Each Other: He doesn't get along with his father or brother, but he can be cordial with them and still cares for them. He and Takeshi refuse to fight at their mother's grave, and Homura drops everything to help get Akira and his friends back to Sanctuary to rest and heal.
  • Big Brother Instinct: He's essentially the older brother of everybody in Sanctuary and takes his duty as such seriously.
  • The Big Guy: Is the largest student in all of Class Sanctuary.
  • Dark and Troubled Past: Watched his mother die saving civilians when she was proving medical aid to them. This event also hardened his brother and father and resulted in him and his sister being banished for speaking against their plans.
  • Friend to All Children: He gets along with his girlfriend's little sister and bonds with Eri, Kanna, Anya, and Alas.
  • Gentle Giant: Despite his imposing frame, Akira is a kind soul and is always willing to be there for his classmates, even embracing Izuku when he suffers a nervous breakdown at one point.
  • Heroic Lineage: His grandfather was the first Japanese #1 Hero, his father Homura worked with All Might in the past and is a candidate for Prime Minister and his mother was part of Doctors Without Borders.
  • Huge Guy, Tiny Girl: His girlfriend, Hinako, is actually average-sized.
  • Hopeless with Tech: He refuses to get a cellphone, likening them to computers that break in his hands. He's also the reason Sanctuary has a landline in the 22nd century.
  • Real Men Wear Pink: Loves pudding, just like in his home series.

    Sho Kusakabe

Sho Kusakabe

Quirk: Severed Universe

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/ff_sho_kukasabe.png

A former member of a terrorist group known as the White Clad, Sho was rescued by his brother Shinra and his Firefighter Hero team before joining Sanctuary in order to atone for his actions under the cult.

  • All Your Powers Combined: He can use the Fire Force's powers but on a weaker level than them.
  • The Baby of the Bunch: While Spinel gets the treatment and adoration, Sho is essentially the youngest member of Sanctuary. His classmates still care about him all the same regardless.
  • Child Prodigy: He's still only 12 years old but he's learning to become a Pro Hero at Sanctuary.
  • Expecting Someone Taller: What he originally envisioned Izuku to be like. Similarly, people are shocked to see a 12-year-old was a former high-ranking member of the White Clad.
  • I Owe You My Life: Despite Endeavor coming clean about his past with his family and what he put them through, Sho still expresses gratitude to him for helping Shinra and the rest of the Fire Force save him from the White Clad.
  • Pintsize Powerhouse: He may be younger than the rest of his peers, but his Quirk and natural skills are nothing to scoff at.
  • Playing with Fire: Unlike in his home series where he was restricted to just Severed Universe, here, he is capable of using the fire powers of his brother and the rest of the Fire Force, albeit at a much weaker level than them, which he personally admits himself.
  • Reformed Criminal: He was once a high-ranking member of the White Clad before his brother and Endeavor saved him.
  • Time Stands Still: Downplayed. Sho can superheat the area around him to such a degree, that time moves faster for him compared to everyone else, allowing him to catch even someone like Tenya Iida off-guard.

    Ulquiorra Cifer

Ulquiorra Cifer

Quirk: Hollow

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/ul.png

A stoic, emotionless individual who seemingly came from the same lab that tortured Izuku. Ulquiorra is an enigma yet he seems to have come to accept his place in Class Sanctuary along with his new classmates.

  • Adaptational Heroism: Unlike in his home series, he is firmly learning to become a Hero with the rest of Class Sanctuary.
  • Adaptational Nice Guy: Being with Class Sanctuary has made him much kinder than he was in canon. While he's still emotionless to an extent, he is learning to be more capable of empathy and even joins the others in giving a traumatized Izuku a hug after his post-USJ therapy session.
  • Adaptational Species Change: Instead of being an Espada, he is a human, albeit a heavily genetically modified one.
  • Always Someone Better: As powerful as he is (and he's STILL not at his full potential) he admits there were three others like him, each MUCH stronger than him.
  • Artificial Human: In regards to his Adaptational Species Change.
  • Big Damn Kiss: He takes 21 into one of these after Izuku and Ochacko begin dating, surprising everyone.
  • Henpecked Husband: To 21.
  • Odd Couple: With 21; she's an upbeat and cheerful sweet loving Genki Girl while he's...Ulquiorra.
  • Oxymoronic Being: Despite being technically human in this universe, he still apparently has some Hollow traits, such as his Resurrección, Murciélago.
  • What Is This Thing You Call "Love"?: Though he doesn't feel or fully understand emotions, he doesn't seem to mind 21's affections and is actually rather accepting of them.

    Lucy

Lucy

Quirk: Vector Arms

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/lucy_03.png

A girl who has had a very rough life due to the mutations caused by her Quirk. Thankfully, Class Sanctuary is there to give her a comforting hand and friends she can trust.

  • Adaptational Wimp: Her canon self could tunnel through the earth's core and back with no problem. This version of Lucy needs some help from Jinx and motivation to do so.
  • Because You Were Nice to Me: Develops a friendship with Mina and Kirishima after they both compliment her horns, something she was ridiculed for in her childhood, and offer to be her friend. She also develops this with the rest of Class Sanctuary by default.
  • Best Friend: At the behest of Mina, Lucy ends up forming a close friendship with Tooru to the point of using her Vector Arms to grant her wish to control her Invisibility Quirk.
  • Blood Knight: She enjoys a good fight, especially if the one she's facing can give her a challenge.
  • Dark and Troubled Past: Not expressed fully yet, but consider Nyu is all of her preserved happiness...she does admit she grew up in a lab.
  • Everyone Has Standards: While she loves violence, she does not like seeing her friends, especially Izuku, indulging in it more than necessary.
  • Literal Split Personality: Her preserved innocence was stored inside her as Nyu, who comes out whenever she is overwhelmed with positive emotions, such as when she was absolutely floored at Mina and Kirishima's offering to be her friend.
  • Sugar-and-Ice Personality: Despite her initially introducing herself to her classmates by saying she hates people, she quickly comes to care for them after they show her decent kindness and empathy. She also ends up slowly making friends outside of Sanctuary in Mina and Kirishima.

    Yuno Gasai

Yuno Gasai

Quirk: Future Diary

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/yuno_1.png

A young girl with a bit of a possessive streak. Yuno is for all intents and purposes an ordinary teenager but she has her own personal issues and she's trying hard not to relapse...

  • Fights Like a Normal: As her Quirk doesn't give her any physical boosts, she relies on concealed weaponry.
  • Hidden Depths: She is quick to pick up on subtle cues and twitches, and can guess aspects of her friends' powers in a way similar to Izuku, although often more simple and practical.
  • Single-Target Sexuality: To her boyfriend, Yukiteru Amano.
  • Winds of Destiny, Change!: Her Quirk allows her to make whatever she writes in her phone diary within a few minutes come to reality but only when she's directly involved and she can't force people to act how she might like them to.
  • Yandere: A recovering one, but she still counts.

    Nui Harime

Nui Harime

Quirk: Life Fibers

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/nui_harime_anime.png

A quirky and eloquent girl with a sadistic streak, Nui is the youngest child of disgraced REVOCS CEO Ragyo Kiryuin and is given a chance at Class Sanctuary to be steered on the path of good hopefully.

  • Adaptational Heroism: Nui is much more friendly and kind in this story, compared to her portrayal in her home series, where she was an unrepentant sociopath.
  • Adaptational Species Change: Instead of being a lifeform created from the Life Fibers, Nui is instead a full-fleshed human. Her Quirk does, however, give her powers similar to that of her canon self.
  • And This Is for...: As she delivers a beatdown to Ragyo, she dedicates each blow to her sisters, adoptive father, butler, Izuku, and Ochacko before finally landing a blow for herself.
  • Badass Transplant: She loses her original arms shielding Izuku and Ochacko, but the Life Fibers give her new ones. These allow her to create clothing out of thin air while also boosting her already considerable strength.
  • Bait-and-Switch: It initially seems like the Life Fibers have taken over her and she leaps to attack Izuku...only to reveal she was joking and wanted to scare everyone.
  • Big Damn Heroes: Twice in the same chapter: First when she breaks into REVOCS tower with Izuku, then when she steals Life Fibers from her mother to power up Izuku.
  • Big Sister Instinct: Inverted. Much of her hate for her mother stems from how she molested her older sisters.
  • Bio-Augmentation: The nature of her Quirk allows her to freely manipulate the special threads in her body, which basically means she can use all the powers from her home series.
  • Clothing Combat: One of the applications of her Quirk allows her to manipulate clothing with a single touch.
  • A Day in the Limelight: She shares top billing during the REVOCS War arc.
  • Gratuitous French: One of her character tics.
  • I Choose to Stay: Izuku offers her the chance to leave, due to knowing how her mother scares her. Nui refuses.
  • Luke, I Am Your Father: Best Jeanist turns out to be her biological father.
  • Major Injury Underreaction: After initially freaking out over the loss of her arms, she casually treats it as no big deal.
  • Parental Substitute: She seems to have a bond like this with Edna Mode.
  • Taking the Bullet: Pushes Izuku and Ochako out of harm's way of her mother's swords, losing her arms in the process.
  • Unwitting Pawn: Had a camera in her eyepatch that her mother and Humarize were using to gain information. Thankfully, Nedzu was aware of this from the start and counter-hacked it.
  • You Are Worth Hell: Considers losing her arms to protect Izuku and Ochako worth it, as well as confronting her mother for the sake of her sisters

    Tae Yamada

Tae Yamada

Quirk: Zombie

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/zls_tae.png

A girl with a Mutant Quirk that makes her behave like a mixture of an ordinary goofy teenage girl and a Friendly Zombie. Tae may not be the sharpest tool in the shed, but she has one of the biggest hearts out of everyone in Sanctuary.

  • Adaptational Species Change: While she was a zombie in her home series, she's essentially human here, just with a Mutant Quirk that makes her zombie-esque in nature.
  • Attractive Zombie: While in this story, she's still human, she still has her zombie-like mannerisms and is still quite beautiful and cute.
  • Hero of Another Story: She and her fellow idols in Franchouchou have had adventures of their own before she arrived at UA.
  • Idol Singer: She's still a member of Franchouchou and is recognized as such by the likes of Luz and Kyouka.
  • Intelligible Unintelligible: She mostly speaks through grunts, growls, and groans like a typical zombie but everyone is capable of understanding her nonetheless.

    Spinel Rokushiki

Spinel Rokushiki

Quirk: Rubberhose

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/baby_16.png

An excitable and playful girl with an innocent and curious nature to her, despite her cheerful disposition, Spinel has her own baggage to carry that the rest of Sanctuary is more than willing to help carry with her.

  • The Baby of the Bunch: Due to her innocent and sweet personality, the rest of Sanctuary has basically taken to seeing her as their collective little sister.
  • Cover Innocent Eyes and Ears: Akira shields her from the inevitable gruesome sight of Jinko Wangei's death at Riddler's hands.
  • Exploited Immunity: Due to being a Rubber Man, she exploits her match-up with Denki in the Sports Festival to make him try and electrocute her, only to fail since she insulates it, allowing her to easily defeat him.
  • Friend to All Children: She absolutely adores the orphans when they arrive at Sanctuary.
  • From the Mouths of Babes: She asks if Himiko and Katsuki are going to have sex, which everyone treats as horrible.
  • Leeroy Jenkins: She pulls one of these when COVERS attack a daycare, although it's mostly to cheer up/distract the kids.
  • Noodle Incident: Whatever got her into Sanctuary in the first place, although she admits a tantrum was involved and she overreacted.
  • Shout-Out: When she sees Rai (unknown to her, Akira's nephew) she calls out this immortal line:

    Amity Blight

Amity Blight

Quirk: Abomination

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/15_amity_blight.png
Pretend she's got purple/pink in her hair

A transfer student from Connecticut along with her girlfriend, Amity hopes that learning to be a Hero in Sanctuary will allow her to hopefully right the wrongs done by her parents... mostly her mother.

  • Adaptation Dye-Job: Amity's hair in this story is a mix of her original green hair color mixed with her natural brown hair color and her pink hair dye while also keeping her original haircut from her first appearance.
  • Archnemesis Mom: Odalia Blight, who she hopes to bring to justice and redeem the Blight family name.
  • Cool Big Sis: Despite being no older than the rest of her peers, Amity becomes this by essential of being elected Class Representative.
  • Daddy's Girl: While they're estranged, Amity acknowledges Alador was the lesser of two evils and still looked up to him regardless.
  • Foil: To Momo Yaoyorozu, both are born from wealthy families, were gifted with powerful Quirks, and have also dealt with major pressure growing up. However, whereas Momo was Spoiled Sweet and is hard on herself, Amity has broken away from that and cares more for her friends than what others think of her.
  • Friend to All Children: She's especially sweet to the orphans when they are taken into Sanctuary.
  • Sickeningly Sweethearts: With Luz.

    Luz Noceda

Luz Noceda

Quirk: Wild Magic

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/luz1.png

A perky girl who transferred over from Connecticut to Japan with her girlfriend, Amity. Luz is nerdy, endearingly dorky, and a total otaku, especially for the Good Witch Azura franchise. Because of these quirks, it's easy for her to make friends in Sanctuary.

  • Adaptational Superpower Change: While she could use Glyphs in her home series to harness magic, here, she can create Glyphs with her Quirk to basically imitate the Nine Coven Magics from said series.
  • Big Damn Heroes: With Amity, she saves a family from COVERS.
  • Big Damn Kiss: Gives one to Amity in celebration of Izuku and Ochako giving dating a try.
  • Calling Your Attacks: Due to her Otaku nature, she calls out the names of her attacks, such as during her battle with Pony Tsunotori in the Sports Festival.
  • Cloudcuckoolander: She can be quite...eccentric. Best shown when she came up with a fantasy story of Kirishima and Testutestu being long-lost brothers.
  • Dark and Troubled Past: Implied. When Ken gave her Dark Kafka to read, she found herself remembering some unpleasant memories despite enjoying reading the book.
  • Friendly Rivalry: Develops one with Pony Tsunotori during the Sports Festival.
  • Gratuitous Spanish: Being Dominican, she is fluent in Spanish, which she often belts out.
  • Hidden Depths: She is a skilled artist and writes stories her classmates would love to see as movies or TV shows.
  • Nice Girl: Is one of the nicest girls in all of Sanctuary.
  • Otaku: And proud of it! It's what helped her and Amity learn Japanese so quickly.
  • Sickeningly Sweethearts: With Amity.

    Penny Polendina

Penny Polendina

Quirk: Quirkless

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/penny_81.png

An android girl created by acclaimed inventor Pietro Polendina, Penny felt detached from the world due to not being like normal girls. Luckily, Sanctuary is there to offer her several hands in friendship and the ability to fulfill her duty to help others.

    Velvet Scarlatina

Velvet Scarlatina

Quirk: Hardlight

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/velvet_18.png

A girl with bunny ears who is rather shy but can be outgoing once you get to know her. Suffering from a history of bullying due to her rabbit ears mutation, Velvet hopes to become a hero in order to fulfill a promise she made to a dear friend of hers.

  • Adaptational Species Change: She's a human instead of a Faunus but she still has the bunny ears due to mutations.
  • Ambiguously Gay: Mentions her good friend Coco, with some subtle hints there might be something more.
  • Hard Light: Her Quirk basically allows her to create constructs from hardlight energy in a manner akin to Green Lantern.
  • Open Mouth, Insert Foot: When the class is comforting Izuku after the Sports Festival, she remarks what he did will make it hard for people to root for them, getting a slap from Emi.
  • Photographic Memory: Instead of it being her Semblance, it's all-natural here.

    Michiru Kagemori

Michiru Kagemori

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/michiru_98.png

A friendly if not impulsive girl with a Mutation Quirk that grants her the appearance of shapeshifting capabilities of a Tanuki. She and her girlfriend Nazuna are part of Sanctuary in order to help support those who are persecuted for their mutations.

    Nazuna Hiwatashi

Nazuna Hiwatashi

Quirk: Kitsune

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/nazuna.png

Michiru's girlfriend, who also moonlights as a part-time idol. She and Michiru share the same goal in fighting in defense of Mutant-based people.

    Seras Victoria

Seras Victoria

Quirk: Vampire

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/seras_8.jpg

The young apprentice of the Terror Hero: Alucard, Seras joins Sanctuary in order to become a hero capable of showing that Dark Is Not Evil. Despite hailing from the UK, she is amazingly affluent in Japanese.

However, All Might is also there to do his best to guide the rest of the students of Sanctuary, especially Izuku.

  • Adaptational Relationship Overhaul: While she and Lady Nagant had never met before in canon (save for some splash art), here, they are girlfriends.
  • Ascended Extra: She was a relatively minor character in canon. Here, she's given a much bigger role in the story.
