  • Defiant Captive: She does not go into the Gravity Regalia easily; biting and kicking and even giving Ragyo a black eye.
  • Innocently Insensitive: She is elated to meet Izuku, holding him responsible for her parents' business becoming more successful. However, she starts with this point when they meet. In her defense, she realizes this quickly and apologizes.

  • Official Couple: She and Izuku have officially started giving dating a try after the REVOCS Arc.
  • Powered by a Forsaken Child: She's forced to wear a special Regalia of Ragyo's design to enhance her Quirk and make the main REVOCS tower fly.

Kyouka Jiro

Quirk: Earphone Jack

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/kyoka_jiro_full_body_uniform_3.png

  • Innocent Fanservice Girl: Is seemingly unaware of just how gorgeous she is in everyone else's eyes.
  • Spoiled Sweet: She's from an incredibly wealthy and affluential family but she doesn't lord it over anybody and wants to simply be seen as a fellow student at school.
  • Stripperific: Her Hero Costume. And according to Nui, she doesn't make it work the same way her sisters can.

     Tooru Hagakure

Tooru Hagakure

Quirk: Invisibility

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/tooru_8.jpeg

  • The Lost Lenore: According to Izuku, she had feelings for Ojiro before his death.
  • Odd Friendship: With the cool and aloof Lucy. It was thanks to Mina they ended up becoming friends in the first place.

     Minoru Mineta

Minoru Mineta

Quirk: Pop Off

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/mineta.png

A short and rather perverted boy who, despite his bumbling and cowardly nature, has the makings of a hero inside him all the same.

     Denki Kaminari

Denki Kaminari

Quirk: Electrification

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/denki_kaminari_6.png

A bumbling but good-natured boy with a Quirk that lets him generate and discharge electricity.

  • Big Damn Heroes: At Minoru's orders, he gives Izuku all his electricity to help him fight the Nomu at the USJ.
  • Book Dumb: Denki is pretty clever when he needs to be... but he completely forgot Spinel is made of rubber and therefore able to negate his electricity.

     Shoto Todoroki

Shoto Todoroki

Quirk: Half-Cold Half-Hot

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/todoroki.png

The son of the #2 Hero, Endeavor. Shoto is aloof, distant, and not the most sociable guy around. He also seems to be holding back his true potential out of spite for his father.

  • Adaptational Jerkass: Refuses to use his fire to help Izuku during the USJ, even after learning how it could've helped him.
  • Break the Haughty: Quickly learns how much stronger Izuku is than him and to say he ends up freaking out is an understatement.
  • Combo Platter Powers: Can use both ice and fire but refuses to use his fire due to the connection it has to his father.
  • My God, What Have I Done?: Angry at being called out for his approach to life, Shoto shouts at Izuku that he does not know anything about suffering... before remembering all of the horrible trauma Izuku suffered throughout his life. The shock of realizing that leaves him unable to answer when Katsuki angrily points out that for all his talk about not wanting to be like his father, he hasn't looked more like Endeavor than right now.
  • Not So Stoic: Ends up suffering a nervous breakdown after Izuku tears down his pledge both with words and with actions during their fight in the Sports Festival, to the point he unleashes the full power of his flames and burns both himself and Izuku in the process.
  • Protected by a Child: Alas Ramus is ultimately the reason he and Inasa 'defeat' Kuroiro, something they feel great shame for.
  • Self-Serving Memory: Though he's right in that Endeavor's treatment of him and the rest of his family was abusive, he doesn't seem to recall that his beloved mother Rei also had a hand in the family's dysfunction.
  • Trauma Conga Line: The day of the Sports Festival was NOT kind to Shoto: first he was brutalized by Izuku and nearly died when he finally used his flames in fear, then he's brought back to life through a blood transfusion of the boy who nearly killed him and called out by several people for his attitude. Then he learns of the Riddler's attack on the stadium at the EXACT same time his beloved mother got kidnapped from her mental hospital by Scarecrow.

     Ojiro Mashirao

Ojiro Mashirao

Quirk: Tail

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/mashirao_ojiro_full_body_uniform_6.png

A boy with a mutation Quirk that gives him a thick prehensile tail. Ojiro holds resentment toward Izuku for the Firestarter Incident due to it killing his uncle and pregnant aunt on the very day they were expecting their child.

  • Adaptational Jerkass: Downplayed. He initially hates Izuku like many others for causing the death of his aunt, uncle, and unborn cousin in the Firestarter Incident but when All Might reveals the full trauma and guilt Izuku has had to live with, Ojiro relents... not that it saves him from Tomura's wrath.
  • Death by Adaptation: He is murdered by a vengeful Tomura at the USJ.
  • Died in Your Arms Tonight: He spends his last moments in Izuku's arms, apologizing for the way he treated him as he expires.
  • Impaled with Extreme Prejudice: When Tomura finds out the Nomu he brought for the USJ was the exact same one the facility used to rape Izuku with, he furiously blames Ojiro for being responsible for the events happening in the first place and stabs his arm through his chest, fatally wounding him and leading to his subsequent death.
  • Jerkass Realization: All Might's description of what Izuku went through helps him realize the flaw in his hate.
  • Jerkass to One: The one being Izuku, but he quickly gets out of it when All Might tells him Izuku's full story.
  • The Lost Lenore: To Tooru, according to Izuku.
  • My God, What Have I Done?: Twice; when he sees how distraught/suicidal Izuku is and as he is dying.
  • Redemption Equals Death: Just as he sees how kind and selfless Izuku is, and by extension truly realizes what happened was an accident, his injuries from Tomura and Nomu end up killing him
  • What You Are in the Dark: He attempts to defend Hana from Tomura when he tries to make her join his side but that just puts him in the Nomu's crosshairs. This is despite the fact Hana probably hates him for antagonizing the already traumatized and guilty Izuku.

     Hitoshi Shinso

Hitoshi Shinso

Quirk: Brainwashing

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/c_chara_main43_1.png

With Izuku having never made it into Class 1-A in this story, Hitoshi was the one who took his place after Aizawa managed to scout him out.

  • Affectionate Nickname: Katsuki calls him 'Aizawa Jr.'. In return, he affectionately calls Chikuchi 'New Fish' as a way of welcoming her into Class 1-A.
  • Ascended Extra: He's in Class 1-A from the start, having Izuku's canon spot.

     Chikuchi Togeike

Chikuchi Togeike

Quirk: Friction Manipulation

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/chikuchi.jpg

Following Ojiro's death, UA plucked a student from General Ed that had the most potential to fill his vacant spot. Chikuchi Togeike ended up being the lucky winner.

  • Almighty Janitor: As Luz points out, with a Quirk like hers she should've been in 1-A or 1-B from the get-go. However, due to indecisiveness and lack of flashiness, she was in General Ed until Ojiro's death.
  • Ascended Extra: Was mostly just a one-bit character in canon. Here, she's more fleshed out.
  • Replacement Goldfish: She is technically this to Class 1-A after Ojiro's death, but this is not brought up.
  • Shout-Out: Her Quirk is one to Taroumaru Seike.

Class 1-B

     Inasa Yoarashi

Inasa Yoarashi

Quirk: Whirlwind

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/inasa.jpg

In this story, Inasa went to UA High after all, despite his animosity toward Shoto. He takes Kuroiro Shiai's canon spot here.

  • The Atoner: Apologies to Ulquiorra for comparing him to Endeavor during the Sports Festival lunch break after their fight, after realizing why he was holding back.
  • Be Careful What You Wish For: He demands Ulquiorra not hold anything back in their fight, accusing him of being no better than Endeavor... and promptly gets obliterated when Ulquiorra breaks out Murciélago.
  • Hot-Blooded: His prime demographic.
  • Jerkass Realization: After witnessing Ulquiorra's devastating power and how he had a right to hold back, Inasa apologizes to him.
  • Nice Guy: Unless you're Shoto or Endeavor, he's a pretty sweet and friendly guy who hopes everyone can show their hot-blooded passion.
  • Protected by a Child: Alas Ramus is ultimately the reason he and Shoto 'defeat' Kuroroi, something they feel great shame for.
  • Sins of Our Fathers: He hates Endeavor and by extension Shoto because he recognizes the kind of people they are.

Itsuka Kendo

  • Chrome Champion: When he activates his Quirk, his body is covered in a metallic sheen.
  • Curb Stomp Cushion: Though he and Eijirou are both outmatched by Akira in the Sports Festival, they still put up a good fight against him all the same.
  • Friendly Rival: With both Eijirou and Akira.

     Ibara Shiozaki

Ibara Shiozaki

Quirk: Vines

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/ibara_shiozaki_anime.png

A pious and religious girl with hair made out of controllable vines.

  • Curb-Stomp Battle: Her fight with Seras is this with Seras effortlessly dodging her vines and then pushing her out of bounds.
  • Innocently Insensitive: She means well but her devotion to her religion makes her come across as Holier Than Thou and Hound Dog highly recommends she work on toning it down.

     Jurota Shishida

Jurota Shishida

Quirk: Beast

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/jurota_shishida_anime.png

A young man with a beastly appearance yet a kind soul.

  • The Berserker: His preferred method of fighting; transform into his Beast Mode and then overwhelm his opponents with his sheer size and strength.
  • Curb-Stomp Battle: He battles Nazuna in the Sports Festival and she ends up beating him when she transforms into her giant wolf spirit form and blasts him out of bounds with a Breath Weapon.
  • Face of a Thug: Despite his fearsome looks, he is quite the gentleman.
  • Gentle Giant: 1-B's tallest student, but polite and gentle.
  • Nice Guy: He sees absolutely no point in Monoma's jealousy of Class 1-A and is a relatively polite young man despite his beastly appearance.

     Manga Fukidashi

Manga Fukidashi

Quirk: Comic

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/manga_fukidashi_anime.png

A young man with a speech bubble for a head whose Quirk allows him to create onomatopeias that carry the properties of the sounds they are based on.

  • Achilles' Heel: If he pushes his Quirk too much, he'll damage his throat.
  • Ascended Extra: He wasn't given much to do in canon despite his impressive and versatile Quirk but here, he gives Penny her first fight during the Sports Festival.
  • Determinator: Despite Penny being LEAGUES above him, he does have her on the ropes for a bit during their fight and only surrenders when his Achilles' Heel acts up.
  • Graceful Loser: He accepts his loss to Penny quite well.

     Togaru Kamakiri

Togaru Kamakiri

Quirk: Razor Sharp

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/togaru_kamakiri_anime_profile_6.png

A hot-headed boy with the head of a praying mantis who loves a good fight.

  • Blood Knight: He LOVES a good fight.

Teachers & Staff

     Eraserhead

Shota Aizawa

Quirk: Erasure

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/shouta_aizawa.png

The homeroom teacher of Class 1-A.

  • Badass Teacher: Don't let his shabby looks fool you, he's capable of taking down hordes of enemies single-handily.
  • Only Sane Man: He tends to be one of the few teachers who doesn't waste time with nonsense and makes sure he makes his students understand his point, even if he has to be a Jerkass to do so.
  • Parental Substitute: To Hitoshi.
  • "The Reason You Suck" Speech: When Monoma comes in to antagonize Class 1-A, Aizawa puts him in his place.
Aizawa: Monoma... You may not have come to cause a physical altercation, but you are clearly trying to harass your fellow students. I'm pretty sure Principal Nedzu warned you about this after you were thrown from the cafeteria last week. I'm pretty sure today qualifies as Strike Two. You know enough about baseball to know what happens when you hit Strike Three, right? And tell me something; If your class had been there, you would have been fine? One of my students died that day, and many more of my students and myself included almost met the same fate. Monoma Neito, you know nothing of what they went through, yet you come here acting like they wanted it, and are using it to prove they are better than the rest of the school? Trust me, Monoma. I'd love nothing more than to expel your ass right here and now but we here at UA believe in giving people second chances. If you waste this, you're out the door, blacklisted, and never to show your face to any other Hero School ever again.
  • Sour Supporter: While not as affectionate as others, he does clearly care for Class Sanctuary and sees their merit as potential heroes.

Shinketsu High

The Elite

     Satsuki Kiryuin

Satsuki Kiryuin

Quirk: Thread Domination

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/satsuki_kiryuin_anime.png

The Student Council President of Shinketsu High as well as the president of the School Council. She is one of Nui's older sisters and Ragyo's oldest daughter.

  • The Ace: The top student at Shinketsu (she's only still in school to upgrade a mark), Student Council President and leader of her own team, a powerful fighter with or without her Quirk, rich and beautiful? Yup, she fits this to a T.
  • Adaptational Modesty: She doesn't wear a Kamui in this story...at least not in a revealing state.
  • Antagonistic Offspring: To Ragyo.
  • Arranged Marriage: Is working on one for Nui in case anything happens to her and Ryuko.
  • Awesomeness Is a Force: Her Quirk is basically this towards Life Fibers, although she lacks the mass control of her mother and younger sister.
  • Big Sister Instinct: Towards both Nui and Ryuko, although the latter seems to keep up with her to the point she doesn't worry as much.
  • Katanas Are Just Better: She fights with a katana at her side,
  • The Leader: On the Shinketsu Elite.
  • Official Couple: With Nonon.
  • Red Oni, Blue Oni: The Blue to Ryuko's Red.
  • Retired Badass: Seems to be heading this way as she steps towards leading REVOCS back on course, thinking it unlikely she'll ever enter a fight again.

     Ryuko Matoi

Ryuko Matoi

Quirk: Thread Devour

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/ryuko_matoi_anime.png

Satsuki's younger sister and Nui's older sister as well as Ragyo's second-oldest daughter. She's the second-in-command of the Shinketsu Elite.

  • Adaptational Modesty: She doesn't wear a Kamui in this story...at least not the in a revealing state.
  • Antagonistic Offspring: To Ragyo.
  • Berserker Tears: Delves into these when it looks like the Life Fibers have taken over Nui.
  • Big Sister Instinct: Towards Nui. It's mentioned she let Ragyo abuse her in Nui's place at least once or twice. She also seems to be this to younger students in general, prioritizing Izuku and Ochako getting away while she and Satsuki fight Ragyo.
  • Daddy's Girl: Her father kept her away from Ragyo for as long as he could. Ryuko has nothing but good things to say about him
  • Hypocritical Heartwarming: Most of her talk to Nui is calling her annoying or a brat, but there is no doubt she loves her little sister and will go to hell and back for her.
  • Official Couple: With Mako.
  • Red Oni, Blue Oni: The Red to Satsuki's Blue
  • Shipper on Deck: Seems to like the idea of Nui and Izuku hooking up

     Mako Mankanshoku

Mako Mankanshoku

Quirk: Devotion

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/mako_mankanshoku_anime.png

Ryuko's girlfriend and the main muscle of the Shinketsu Elite.

  • The Lancer: She's #3 of the Shinketsu Elite.
  • Official Couple: With Ryuko.

     Nonon Jakuzure

Nonon Jakuzure

Satsuki's girlfriend and confidant in the Shinketsu Elite.

  • Make Some Noise: She can manipulate soundwaves in a musical manner for a variety of uses.
  • Official Couple: With Satsuki, her childhood best friend.
  • Pint-Sized Powerhouse: She's a bit shorter than the rest of the team but she more than makes up for it with her powerful Quirk and stage presence.

     Ira Gamagoori

Ira Gamagoori

Quirk: Ego

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/ira_gamagoori_anime.png

The Shield of the Shinketsu Elite.

  • The Big Guy: Though he can shift his size with his Quirk, his base height is on par with Akira and Maine.
  • Emotional Powers: His Quirk basically functions as this; the more pride he has in his actions the big and stronger he gets. He can even project energy blasts.

Pro Heroes

     Endeavor

Enji Todoroki

Quirk: Hellflame

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/endeavor_anime_profile.png

The father of Shoto and the #2 Hero of Japan.

  • Abusive Parent: He harshly pushed Shoto to his limits from a young age to make him a worthy successor. This obviously caused dysfunction for the entire Todoroki family and Endeavor himself admits to these acts, refusing to make excuses as he knows the things he did to his family were horrible.
  • Adaptational Nice Guy: He fully admits to his mistakes to Izuku and the rest of Sanctuary and his more noble traits are given more prominence.
  • The Atoner: After the Sports Festival and all the chaos that befell everyone, Endeavor strives to be a better Hero and a better example for his children.
  • Knight in Sour Armor: His envy of All-Might and wanting to surpass him aside, Endeavor takes his job as a Hero very seriously and refuses to indulge the media unless it's absolutely necessary, such as when he confesses to what he put his family through.
  • Papa Wolf: While he knows that he hasn't been the best father to Shoto or any of his children for that matter, Endeavor still shows that deep down, he cares for them. Best shown when he demands that the doctors give his son the blood of a very willing Izuku.
  • Skyward Scream: After finding the hospital his wife was in completely destroyed and everyone dead with Rei herself having been mind-raped and kidnapped by Scarecrow, Endeavor screams the Villain's name with all the fury he can muster.
  • Trauma Conga Line: Just like Shoto, saying that the day of the Sports Festival was a rough day for him would be a severe understatement.

     Best Jeanist

Tsunagu Hakamada

Quirk: Fiber Master

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/best_jeanist_anime_5.png

The #4 Hero of Japan.

  • Arch-Enemy: With Ragyo Kiryuin; their families have been at war over the Life Fibers for generations, with Jeanist's family wishing to rid the world of them while Ragyo worships them.
  • Doting Parent: Partly to make up for all the time he missed raising her, he dotes on and is very protective of Nui.
  • Luke, I Am Your Father: He turns out to be Nui's biological father.
  • Papa Wolf: He steps in to protect Nui, Satsuki, Ryuko, Izuku, and Ochacko...and is prepared to rampage when he learns someone may like Nui romantically.

Important Figures

     Homura Kongoh

Homura Kongoh

Quirk: Kongoh Genes

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/345px-Homura_Kongou_4785.jpg

The top candidate for Japan's Prime Minister and the father of Akira and Takeshi.

  • Action Politician: One of his drawing cards; while other politicians cowered and blamed heroes during the REVOCS revolution, Homura actually goes out to fight the COVERS.
  • Ambiguously Evil: He and Takeshi have plans that involve Humarise, the Sanctuary students, and UA itself, but he is otherwise shown to be a decent and heroic man. If anything, he's A Lighter Shade of Black compared to the League of Villains and Humarise.
  • At Least I Admit It. Holds no delusions he screwed up as a father after his wife died and that he has taken a backseat for far too long.
  • Attack of the 50-Foot Whatever: He's the size of the Parliament building! And he's a little annoyed by people's reactions to it.
  • Aw, Look! They Really Do Love Each Other: Despite disagreeing with how they live their lives and their own plans, Homura still dropped everything to help Akira and the other Sanctuary students get back home after their fight with Ragyo.
  • Back-to-Back Badasses: With All-Might during the REVOCS Revolution Arc.
  • Doting Grandparent: He's this to Rai, Takeshi's son.
  • Heroic Lineage: His father, Kai Kongoh, was Japan's first #1 Pro Hero.
  • Hot Skitty-on-Wailord Action: Homura is the size of a small kaiju while his wife, Sayori, was a normal-sized human. How they managed to have not one, but THREE children is something both Melissa and Kohta are scared to ask.
  • Parents as People: After his wife died, he fell into a deep depression, abandoning his children. Then, when Akira and Soara spoke out against his and Takeshi's plans, he kicked them out of the house in a fit of rage, an action he now deeply regrets. In the current time, Homura is shown keeping a close eye on all his children (and Rai), encouraging them to see each other and stay in touch.
  • We Have Become Complacent: Launches the 97 Districts Project in an effort to avert this in the wake of the REVOCS war.
