"It's just that when I lived in Nohr, the servants were cruel to me. I expected it. Then, I came to Hoshido. I love the royal family, but still, some people despise me. What if it's my destiny to be hated? I fear my life will always be in danger."

An enigmatic songstress and dancer who joins Corrin on their journey regardless of what route is taken. Azura reveals herself to be a princess of Nohr, but was raised in Hoshido, mirroring Corrin's situation. While wise and mature beyond her years, she is also very blunt and proves to be an invaluable companion and advisor on Corrin's quest. In addition to wielding lances, as a Songstress, Azura is able to support the army with her songs, allowing a unit to move once again after completing an action. Sleeps restlessly. Her birthday is March 3rd.

Class: Songstress
Voiced by: Lynn (In-game, Japanese), Renka (Singing voice, Japanese), Rena Strober (English)

  • Abdicate the Throne: She has greater claim to the Vallite throne than Corrin, being the daughter of Queen Arete and the last King of Valla, but passes the title over to them. This remains the case even if she is married the Male Corrin. Instead of becoming sovereign Queen of Valla, and making him her prince consort, she allows him become the sovereign King of Valla. This means she becomes his queen consort, a queen in name, but not power. The reason she gives for either case is that she has never been much of a leader and thinks Corrin would be better suited to lead Valla.
  • Action Girl: Downplayed in that her primarily role, and the one she excels at, is support. But all the same, she is incredibly skilled in the use of pole-arms, tridents and spears, with her fighting style almost as graceful as her dancing. Azura is more than capable of handling herself on the front lines.
  • Ambiguously Bi: Downplayed, but it's worth noting that the abundant ship tease or romantic subtext between Azura and Corrin does not change based off the gender of Corrin. In Fire Emblem Warriors where the default Corrin is female, the DLC story maps and supports have even more ship tease between the two, and even delves further into how much Undying Loyalty Azura has for her. That being said the ambiguity comes from the fact that like several other bisexual characters in Fates the game only allows for her to S-Support male characters.
  • Adoption Diss: One of the many verbal abuses she was subjected to by Garon's concubines, and they even told the Nohrian siblings to not associate with her as a result, despite them actually desiring to meet her.
  • All of the Other Reindeer: Has been rejected and ostracized by her peers in Nohr and Hoshido alike, the former because they didn't like her and her mother "replacing" the late and very popular Queen Katerina, the latter because they didn't trust her because she was a princess of Nohr.
  • Ancestral Weapon: In her supports with Shigure, she reveals that her pendant is this, as it was given to her by her mother.
  • Awesome Moment of Crowning: At the end of the third path, she crowns Corrin as king/queen of Valla, and becomes their adviser. If she is married to the Male Corrin, this trope naturally applies to her as well, with Azura becoming his queen.
  • Badass Adorable: She can hold her own in combat and has powerful Magic Music, but is quite cute and sweet, especially once she lets her guard down. She even has a rather adorable, girlish giggle that she sometimes does when she levels up.
  • Battle Couple: Can form one with other units, including Corrin.
  • Berserk Button: Calling her singing bad (at least she says that it pisses her off).
  • Big Eater:
    • Surprisingly, she comes off as this in one of her supports with Xander. Upon being invited to a strategy meeting, she's less focused on giving her input and more on stuffing her face. Xander promising her food is even how he convinces her to go to another one.
    • This gets reinforced in Fire Emblem Warriors where her support with Ryoma involves him taking her to sample various food stalls - which Azura does until she finds she physically can't eat anymore.
  • Birds of a Feather:
    • In Revelation, she bonds with Corrin over their similar backgrounds, and she and the male have somewhat similar personalities; they are both somewhat awkward socially and tend to be serious.
    • Also with Jakob, since both hold Undying Loyalty to Corrin and she's one of the few non-Corrin people he feels comfortable with.
  • Blessed with Suck: She can do many amazing and useful things with her songs, from revitalizing allies to weakening enemies to purging evil. Unfortunately, this ability is very painful, steadily drains her life, and will outright kill her if she's not careful. She herself regards it as a "curse".
  • Book Ends: Corrin first meets her by a lake. Their final scene together, and the second-to-last final scene in the game, has them talking by a lake.
  • Broken Bird: She was frequently bullied while she lived in Nohr, and was never fully accepted by those outside the royal family while she grew up Hoshido. This led to her acting stoic and aloof towards anybody she wasn't close with, as she has difficulty trusting people and fears being rejected.
  • Brutal Honesty: Azura doesn't let something like societal niceness stop her from telling someone what she thinks of them.
  • Call-Back: If Corrin has achieved S-Support with her, one of her lines during the face-rubbing portion of My Castle is this to Awakening, specifically, Chrom's assertion that he and Robin are "two halves of a greater whole".
Azura: I've never trusted in a friend more than you. You and I are two parts of a whole. During hard times, during cruel times, if we're together, I'm sure we can overcome it all.
  • Cast from Hit Points: Her pendant allows her to imbue her songs with regenerative magic, but it drains her energy in doing so. If she uses her powers too often in too short a time, it drains her completely, and she dies, which happens at the end of Birthright (onscreen) and Conquest (offscreen), but not in Revelation.
  • Child of Two Worlds: Just like how Corrin is a Hoshidan prince/princess raised in Nohr as a mix of political hostage and adoptive family member, Azura is a Nohrian princess who has spent her life in Hoshido in similar circumstances. As a bonus of sorts, the Queen of Hoshido turns out to be both Corrin's birth mother and Azura's maternal aunt.
  • The Comically Serious:
    • Her Supports with Keaton involve him trying (and failing) to get her to show emotion. When he tricks her into holding a frog by having her shut her eyes, she refuses to freak out about and continues to be stoic.
Azura: *stonefaced* I'm holding a frog.
    • She also gets a bit of this in her C-Support with Kaden. He comments on how impressive her serious expressions look... all while she's resisting the urge to reach out and pet him.
  • Commonality Connection: She and Niles are almost opposites, but end up bonding thanks to their difficulties relating to other people.
  • Compassionate Critic: Despite her Brutal Honesty she is never cruel, and tries to help those she criticizes overcome a flaw or problem by pointing it out to them.
  • The Confidant: She's the only one Corrin will confide in about their inner turmoil and depression on the Conquest path, while in Revelation she's the only family Corrin can turn to regarding the secret of Valla and the truth behind the war.
  • Cool Big Sis: Sakura views her as one, as seen in their supports. Elise quickly becomes attached to her and starts to see her as this in their supports as well.
  • Cuteness Proximity: Her stoic expression breaks whenever she sees something cute.
  • Dance Battler: While she's more of a singer than a dancer, she does dance, and she can use lances. In battle, nearly all of her animations involve some flashy spinning and twirling.
  • Dead Person Conversation: Corrin has one with her at the end of Birthright and Conquest.
  • Deadpan Snarker: Despite what her delicate appearance suggests, Azura's quite sassy.
  • Depending on the Artist: Her bust size varies wildly. In her portrait it looks small (if not flat), in cutscenes and her official art it looks average, and in the various artwork for Fire Emblem 0 (Cipher) TCG it can be anything in-between or larger. Even Yusuke Kozaki, the man who designed her, can't make up his mind.
  • Deuteragonist: Her importance to the story is second only to Corrin. She joins them on all three paths no matter what, while her powers, knowledge, and background are extremely vital plot points.
  • Developers' Desired Date: In each route's storyline, her evolving relationship and Ship Tease with the Male Corrin makes her this for him. She also has a different confession depending on the route, which is unique to her, different support chains with him, which is also unique, and one of the fastest support growth rates in the game with him. Also, in Revelation, by marrying the Male Corrin, she will become the rightful Queen of Valla. However, players are still free to pair her up with whoever they want through the Support System.
  • Disappears into Light: Rather, she turns into water at the end of Birthright. Also seemed to be implied in Conquest, where she apparently dies offscreen after Takumi is killed. In her supports with Shigure, she reveals that this is due to her pendant, the source of her powers, which will eventually kill her if used too often.
  • Distress Ball: Azura is capable of protecting herself, but she finds herself needing to be saved on more than one occasion. It's justified, as enemies know her powers are a Spanner in the Works and want to take her out before she can use them.
  • Dress-Coded for Your Convenience: She has two dresses; one white, one black. She wears the white one by default, only switching to the black one on the Nohr route for a cutscene.
  • Elegant Classical Musician: She's a very talented singer, very elegant in her demeanor, and many of her supports allude to her music.
  • Empowering Lake Lady: A mysterious female to another character (whether male or female) that she empowers with a Dragonstone, the knowledge of Valla, and "refreshes" allies. Her epitaph is even a Shout-Out to the Trope Namer.
  • Fashionable Asymmetry: Her tights only cover her right leg. Her gown also leaves the right side of her hip exposed. Her support with Saizo implies her legging is covering a nasty scar.
  • Forgiving the Accidental Pervert: When the male Corrin accidentally walks in on her bathing, the annoyed Azura simply tells him to turn around while she's changing into her clothes and lets him off with a warning.
  • Fragile Speedster: Her Defense and HP growths are the absolute worst in the game, but she boasts the highest Speed and Skill growths, and her Strength is exceptionally high, too.
  • Friendless Background: While she did have loved ones in the form of her mother and the Hoshidan royal family, she has always been a social outcast in both Hoshido and Nohr. Corrin is the first friend she's ever actually had.
  • Gameplay and Story Segregation: She's repeatedly shown throughout the story to be engaging in combat in ways that, due to her absolutely atrocious Defense and HP growths, would be outright suicidal no matter what you decide to reclass her into. For instance, in Conquest Chapter 17 she apparently takes out an entire group of Hoshidan troops singlehandedly offscreen without breaking a sweat, in Conquest Chapter 21 she jumps to protect Corrin from a Faceless attack, an action which shortly after gets the much more durable Lilith killed instantly when she attempts it, and in Chapter 24 of Birthright she fights alongside Corrin and Ryoma and keeps up with them while they fight a bunch of Heroes and Generals.
  • Go Out with a Smile: At the end of Birthright. Despite clearly being in pain as she turns into water, she dies with a Tearful Smile on her face. Her last request is for Corrin to smile for her one last time.
  • Going Native: She's quite comfortable with her life in Hoshido despite not being fully accepted there, and she finds its people to be wholly good-natured, much like Sakura. It goes into gameplay as well; she starts off with a Bronze Naginata, a Hoshidan weapon, her main reclassing option is the Hoshido-only Sky Knight, the poison marshes in Birthright chapter 18 harm her like other Hoshidan units, and her son, who himself starts off as a Sky Knight, has a Hoshidan-sounding name: Shigure.
  • Heroic Sacrifice: After constantly overusing her powers to assist Corrin, Azura finally dies when she burns up all her life force to weaken the final bosses of Birthright and Conquest enough for Corrin to kill them.
  • Hidden Depths: She's more scarred by the bullying from Garon's concubines than she lets on, and is The Stoic because she's afraid of opening up to people only to get rejected or teased. When she does open up, she proves to have quite the mischievous side, such as Trolling Sakura by scaring her with ghost stories.
  • The High Queen: Will become this with the Male Corrin, Ryoma, or Xander if she marries any of them in Revelation.
  • Iconic Outfit: Her pure white outfit is associated with Hoshido, where she was raised. In Conquest she very briefly dons a black variant, a color associated with Nohr.
  • I Just Want to Be Loved: Despite trying to act tough and aloof, she's really a sad, lonely girl who's terrified of being hurt and desperately wants true affection from another.
  • "I Know You're in There Somewhere" Fight: Although it's not really a fight. She confronts Corrin alone after they first shift into their dragon form, trying to get them to snap out of it, and gets pinned to the ground and strangled. The whole time, she refuses to raise her weapon, and keeps pleading with them to remember who they are.
  • Incest Subtext: Played with. She can potentially romance her male siblings, though she's not actually related to either, having been adopted by both families. However, she is blood related to her Implied Love Interest, the Male Corrin, being his cousin. Given Fire Emblem's medieval inspired setting, cousin marriage is likely common. In fact in medieval times cousin marriage was common among royalty, to keep the bloodline pure. This makes sense for Azura and Corrin as they are both Vallite royalty.
  • Innocently Insensitive: Like Corrin, Azura sometimes tends to insult others without meaning to, though via bluntness rather than naiveté. A good example is in her supports with Elise, where she unintentionally hurts her feelings by comparing her to Sakura.
  • Kissing Cousins: With the Male Corrin, should they marry—her mother, Queen Arete of Nohr, was the older sister of his mother, Queen Mikoto of Hoshido. Neither of them are aware of this, and they don't find out until rather late in Revelation. If Azura and Corrin are still single by this point she can still marry him even after finding out their family relation. Given the medieval setting, and Azura being raised in the Japanese inspired Hoshido, being cousins doesn't stop her.
  • Knight in Sour Armor: Azura is rather more cynical and world-weary than Corrin, but she shares their conviction in trying to make the world a better place.
  • Lady of War: Azura has a calm and graceful bearing, and moves with fluid spins and twirls in battle while wielding a lance.
  • Last Request: As she's turning to water in the end of Birthright, she asks Corrin to smile for her one last time.
  • Leitmotif: "The Water Maiden", a serene melody that plays when Corrin first meets her and in some other scenes centered around her later on.
  • Like Brother and Sister: Discussed in her S-support with Ryoma, who couldn't see her this way because of his feelings for her.
  • Like Father, Like Son: She's said to take after her mother, Queen Arete, in terms of beauty, grace and singing ability. They're both also willing to give up their lives for the greater good.
  • Living Emotional Crutch: On Conquest, Corrin comes to rely heavily on her for reassurance and emotional support.
  • Lonely Rich Kid: She's a princess who has never had a single friend in her life, before Corrin, and is desperately lonely for it.
  • Love at First Sight: Her confession on the third route has her telling the Male Corrin that she feels as though she's always loved him, implying this.
  • Love Confession:
Birthright: I...I love you too. Please forgive me for my many faults...and promise to stay with me forever.
Conquest: I finally know what true happiness is. No matter what happens, dear love...I will always be with you.
Revelation: I somehow feel that I've always loved you... Together we will save this world. Please, never let me go...
  • Magical Barefooter: She does not wear any shoes and uses water magic.
  • Magic Music: Azura is the only unit with the Songstress class, which has the ability to allow another unit to move once more during the turn using their songs.
  • Making a Splash: Wields power over water, including using it during her dancing scenes with Garon, with both her names referencing it in some form (Water is usually blue or Azure, Aqua is another name for Water), and has long, flowing blue hair. This is due to her Pendant, which also drains her life force.
  • Meaningful Name:
    • "Azura" is derived from "azure", a shade of blue associated with the sky. This hints at her connection to the kingdom of Valla, which is a Floating Continent.
    • Her Japanese name, Aqua, is an obvious reference to her connection to water.
  • Messy Hair: Azura's hair is normally neat and tidy, but she has the worst bedhead out of the army according to her bio. Referenced in a page of Fire Emblem Heroes: A Day in the Life, where Azura and her variants have to conceal it by wearing accessories.
  • Missing Mom: If she gets married, Azura will become this to her son Shigure and his sibling at the end of Birthright and Conquest.
    • Is also on the receiving end of this herself, as her mother Arete died in a Heroic Sacrifice and, in Revelation must be killed off again.
  • Misunderstood Loner with a Heart of Gold: Due to her naturally introverted nature, people often mistake her as suspicious or scary, when she's one of the kindest people in the army.
  • Ms. Fanservice: A very downplayed example, especially compared to other dancers in the franchise, but she still shows a leg and (part of) her belly on a fairly form-fitting outfit, in addition to being very beautiful.
  • Mysterious Waif: Deconstructed. She considers her powers nothing but a curse, and her solemn exterior drives people away rather than drawing them to her. The two factors combined make it even harder for her to bond with or trust people, which in the end leads to her Heroic Sacrifice in two of the three routes. Her solo ending even states many were unsure if she even existed, while her married ending "upgrades" her to being a historical mystery.note
  • Naginatas Are Feminine: Presumably the reason she joins you with one instead of a sword like the dancers of old.
  • Nerves of Steel: Her reaction to being pinned to the ground and choked by Corrin in their dragon form is to stare up at them calmly and beseech them to come to their senses. This is far from the only time she keeps a cool head under pressure, as seen in several other of her supports, such as Saizo's and Silas's. This is even the case gameplay-wise, as she has a solid 50% strength growth.
  • Nice Girl: Azura's generally a calm, kind soul, who does her best to guide and help others, even if she sometimes comes off as harsh.
  • Not So Above It All: Trolls Sakura when the latter doesn't want to hear a horror story in their support. Azura even smirks a little doing so.
  • Not So Stoic: Though most of the time she's pretty stoic, she openly loves singing and dancing, and squees in proximity to cute things. She also has a playful side, which usually comes out when she's with someone she trusts (like Sakura, who saw her as a Cool Big Sis), and is just as affectionate to a Male Corrin if she's his Love Interest as everyone else.
    • She also expresses more emotion when it's a particularly strong one. During the Revelation route, for example, she breaks down crying after being forced to Mercy Kill her mother.
  • Not the Intended Use: Her unusually high strength growth was meant for Azura to defend herself if she ends up within enemy range, but some of the more experienced players who aren't interested in her sing ability change her into a physical class to abuse this.
  • One-Song Bard: Azura is a Songstress, but she only ever really sings one song, "Lost in Thoughts All Alone". This is justified in-story by it being a versatile Magic Music, which she can use to achieve different magical effects, focused on buffing allies and debuffing enemies. Thus, Azura simply doesn't ever need to learn any other songs.
  • Paper-Thin Disguise: In Conquest, for her attempt to assassinate Garon without being seen, Azura wears a black Palette Swap of her normal outfit with a semi transparent veil. Ends up being subverted, as while this likely wouldn't fool anyone up close, Garon, Leo and Corrin (the only ones she would need to hide her identity from) are all shown being fairly far away from where she does her performance, making it hard to make out the features of her face (especially with the veil), and probably even her outfit. She also sings a verse from her song that not even Corrin has heard before while somewhat disguising her voice, making the connection even more unclear. When throwing in some reasonable doubt due to a lack of a known motive, and the Hoshidan forces' bad timing inadvertently taking the blame, and it starts to make sense how she was able to pull it off.
  • Perpetual Frowner: Due to her stoicism, though she does smile when she's with someone she feels particularly close to.
  • Please Kill Me if It Satisfies You: Offers this to Corrin after their Traumatic Superpower Awakening in Chapter 5, as an elaborate attempt to get them to come to their senses.
    Azura: ...do it as yourself.
  • Pre-Mortem One-Liner
    "My heart is singing!"
    "Time for your final bow!"
    "It's over!"
    "Let us begin!
  • Prefers Going Barefoot: Azura goes barefoot at all times, even in terrain and climates where that would be quite difficult, wearing only a single anklet. This is most likely to make it easier for her to dance, which she does at several important points in the game. To press the point even further, virtually all of her alternate outfits in Heroes, save for a single seasonal variant, depict her barefoot as well.
  • The Promise: Makes one with Corrin during Chapter 20 of Birthright, that they'll both survive the war and enjoy a life in a world of peace. She is unable to keep it. Her Conquest support with them also has her promising to always stay with them and support them, even if doing so condemns them both.
  • Recurring Element: She falls into the same archetype as Deirdre and Ninian, being a pale-haired Mysterious Waif whose heritage/powers are central to the plot, is the Implied Love Interestnote  of the male lord, and has an unknownst-to-them relation to a major characternote . As the unit who "refreshes" allies she can both dance and sing, and can fight to boot.
  • Red Oni, Blue Oni: Blue to Corrin's Red. She's the more cool-headed and reserved of the two.
  • Replacement Goldfish: Views herself as one for Corrin's Hoshidan family. Her supports with her adopted siblings Ryoma and Hinoka have her telling them they don't have to pretend to love her anymore now that their real sibling is back, and she apologizes to Corrin in their Hoshidan supports for "stealing" their birthright from them. Ryoma and Hinoka tell her their familial love for her was never faked, and Corrin assures her that they don't blame her at all.
  • Rescue Romance: She's on both ends of the trope:
    • She attempts this with Hinata, who was fooled into buying vegetables from a Nohrian spy. It doesn't go as planned, but she does manage to chase said spy off in their B-Support, and in their A-Support Hinata's learned his lesson about only buying from honest shopkeepers.
    • She's quite more successful with Saizo, as he is grievously injured while helping her and she returns the favor by dressing his wounds and helping him get to safety. This also totally changes their dynamics, since up until then he really didn't trust her and when she ripped her clothes to stop the bleeding, he got to see a very ugly scar from her past.
    • She's on the receiving end in the supports with Subaki, who chases away a bunch of people who wanted her dead and turn out to be racist Hoshidans who hate her for her heritage.
    • Is on the giving and receiving end of this for the Male Corrin on Conquest; they reunite when he rescues her from the Hoshidan soldiers out to kill her, and in their support chain she in turn jumps in and protects him from Hoshidan assassins.
    • As she is speaking with Silas about Corrin, she realizes that an evil spirit is about to attack him and exorcises it it swiftly. Like in Saizo's case, up until then Silas was skeptical about her loyalties, but from that talk onwards he trusts her far more.
    • In Birthright, she can strike this with Takumi since she uses her powers to defuse the More than Mind Control that has been inflicted on him.
    • In a roundabout way, she might score this with Xander and/or Ryoma in Revelation, since she uses her singing to stop them from what would've otherwise been a Duel to the Death between the two.
  • Royalty Superpower: As a descendant of the First Dragons, she is able to use Dragon Vein, which will be inherited by any child mothered by her.
  • Shared Family Quirks: The Child Scramble DLC shows that all her potential children, sans Soleil, inherited her talent for singing.
  • Ship Tease: Heavily with the Male Corrin, especially in Chapter 5 where an old lady mistakes her for his girlfriend, she is the one to snap him out of his draconic rage, and they talk about how much they trust and feel comfortable around each other.
  • Silk Hiding Steel: She's reserved, beautiful, and graceful, with a spine of steel and a lot of courage underneath.
  • Spirit Advisor: Serves as one for the kids, especially her son Shigure, in the Heirs of Fate DLC.
  • Star-Crossed Lovers: She and anyone she gets an S-Support with can become this. Whomever she marries will always lose her in the Birthright and Conquest routes, as she either turns into water or disappears offscreen after the defeat of the final boss. And if she marries Kaze in Birthright, that can potentially go wrong if you don't have him reach A-Support with Corrin. Happily averted in Revelation, however.
  • Stepford Smiler: Her dialogue in Chapter 7 of Revelation indicates this.
Azura: I was trapped—no matter how much I missed my parents... I had to bottle it all up inside.
  • The Stoic: Azura is very reserved, very rarely displaying her emotions openly. It's even the point of her supports with Keaton, who's a little freaked out by her perpetual stoicism. It turns out she acts like this because she's afraid of opening up to people.
  • Sugar-and-Ice Personality: At first glance she seems rather cold and unsocial. In truth, she's very kind, but has trouble expressing her emotions due to her fear of rejection. When she warms up to someone or is with someone she is close to, she expresses her feelings more easily, and can even be rather teasing.
  • Supernatural Gold Eyes: Azura has bright yellow eyes and magic powers. Her mother, Arete, and Lilith also have these, hinting at their connection to Valla.
  • Support Party Member: Due to her poor defenses and the Songstress class maxing out at C rank for lances, Azura's greatest asset will be her singing and vast array of supportive skills.
  • Tears of Joy: In her B-support with Kaze, Azura sheds these upon recieving flowers from the carrier pigeon that her nana used to make them into flower crowns.
  • That Makes Me Feel Angry: In her supports with Keaton, he tries to make her show more emotion. First, he makes her hold a frog, expecting her to freak out like any other girl he'd done this to. She claims to be disgusted, while keeping a blank face. He then decides to anger her by bashing her singing skills. Again, she shows no change in expression, despite claiming to be "absolutely livid".
  • The Three Faces of Eve: Azura is the calm, wise "wife." Her fellow Nohr princesses, Camilla and Elise, are the "seductress" and "child," respectively.
  • Together in Death: Can be this with Kaze in Birthright if they get married and Kaze does not have an A-Support with Corrin.
  • Undying Loyalty: To Corrin. However, while she joins the group right away in Birthright and Revelation (the latter consisting of just Corrin, Azura herself, and either Jakob or Felicia), she doesn't join in the Nohr route until Chapter 9. This can be chalked up to her biased view against Nohr, making her hesitant.
  • Warrior Princess: Like the female Corrin, Azura can certainly hold her own in battle.
  • Warrior Therapist: Several of her supports have her giving sharp but kind advice to people who are in dire need of it, like Laslow (so he can get over his Stage Fright) or Odin (to help him with his fear of heights).
  • Water Is Womanly: She wields power over water which is seen during her dance sequences, has long, flowing blue hair, and is a graceful, reserved Songstress garbed in a white dress adorned with blue ribbons. Her name in the Japanese version is "Aqua", Latin for water, and her epithet is "Lady of the Lake", fitting her water motif.
  • Weapon Specialization: Specializes in lances.
  • What If the Baby Is Like Me: Her conversation with Kana in the Child Festival Scramble DLC, if she's her mother, shows that she's afraid of Kana ending up as cold and reclusive as her.
  • White Magic: Her Magic Music falls under this category; it's assorted uses in gameplay involve debuffing enemies and refreshing, buffing, or healing allies, while in the plot it serves to sooth angry minds and is effective at purging evil and corruption, such as in Garon. It originated from Corrin's father, the god-king Anankos, and its cost? Her own life.
  • The Wise Prince: A female example of a mostly-male trope. She's melancholy, compassionate, wise, and not afraid to step onto the battlefield.
  • Your Days Are Numbered: Due to her overuse of her powers, Azura only has a short while left to live, and it gets shorter with each song. On Birthright, she outright dies; on Conquest, she disappears to spare everyone the sight. Subverted on the third route: because she doesn't have to purge Takumi or Garon, she doesn't expend as much energy, and gets to live.

"Indeed, I am. Lord/Lady Corrin gave me a home when nobody else would. I will happily serve him/her until my dying day."

A butler who personally serves Corrin, and an ally no matter what. From household chores to combat, he can do it all, but he doesn’t show an ounce of friendliness towards anyone besides Corrin. His class allows usage of staves and kunai, like Maids. Ironically not a morning person despite his job. His birthday is December 3rd.

Class: Butler
Voiced by: Jun'ichi Suwabe (Japanese), Ben Diskin (English)

  • Abusive Parents:
    • As revealed in a few of Jakob's supports, his parents were nobles who straight-up abandoned him at the Nohr castle to be a servant.
    • His relationship with his son Dwyer is often misconstrued as this as well. However, it's mostly because Jakob is being... well Jakob (at most, he's guilty of sending him and his potential brothers to the Deeprealms, just like the other well-intentioned but severely time-limited parents). In their conversation in Dwyer's Paralogue, Jakob is very sharp in expressing that he's disappointed in Dwyer, and his dialogue implies that Dwyer disappointing him is a very common topic between them. The support chain between the two of them shows that Jakob is competitive and strict, however, Dwyer also acts quite rude to his father, and Jakob admits defeat every time they compete in household chores (though he doesn't always say this so that Dwyer hears him). It's also worth noting that his supports with Gunter show that Gunter brought Jakob up in a very similar manner.
  • Back-to-Back Badasses: In Chapter 7 of Conquest, Jakob backs up the Female Corrin when she is vastly outnumbered by Faceless.
  • Battle Butler: His starting class and profession.
  • Battle Couple: Can marry the Female Corrin, Azura, and any of the females on both sides (except Reina and Scarlet from Hoshido, and Flora on the Nohr side).
  • Because You Were Nice to Me: He explains to Azura that Corrin was kind to him when nobody else was, during his early days as a butler when he'd screw up constantly. That's why he's so devoted to them.
  • Big Damn Heroes: When a Female Corrin is facing a group of Faceless all on her own, he shows up to save her.
  • Birds of a Feather:
    • His supports with Hana have them realizing, with some surprise, that they're more similar than they thought, in that they both desire to protect their liege above all else.
    • Similarly, both he and Azura have an Undying Loyalty towards Corrin and that helps them bond and get along. In fact, Azura is one of the few non-Corrin people Jakob is constantly polite to.
  • Bodyguard Crush: Can develop this towards the Female Corrin through supports.
  • Combat Medic: As a butler, he can fight with knives and heal with staves.
  • Dark and Troubled Past: His supports reveal that he was mistreated and abused by his parents for as long as he can remember before they ultimately abandoned him to become a servant in Windmire purely so they could be rid of him. And even then, he was still constantly belittled and mistreated by the rest of the palace staff until Corrin came into his life, which is why he's both devoutly loyal to them and why he's so anti-social to everyone else. In his supports with Mozu and Azura, he outright says that Corrin was the only person in his life up to that point who ever treated him with kindness.
  • Deadpan Snarker: Some of his supports involve some blunt sarcasm left and right, especially with Peri.
  • Defrosting Ice Queen: King in his case, but in pretty much all his supports, he starts out cold and mocking towards the other person, but by the A-support it's clear he cares about them. Particularly noticeable if he reaches an S-support.
  • Disc-One Nuke: If Jakob is your first servant, he can be changed to the Paladin or Great Knight class and be an excellent tank early on.
  • Fainting: In two support chains. His A-rank with Corrin of either gender has him faint from them praising him. The other time is in his S Support with Azura, after she reciprocates his feelings.
  • Foil:
    • To Felicia; she's friendly, but clumsy. He's cold, but skilled.
    • Also to Silas. Both are loyal childhood friends to Corrin, but while Silas is very open-hearted and willing to help anyone, Jakob actively makes himself exclusive to Corrin's care. Their supports focus on this difference.
    • But mostly, to Frederick. Both extremely loyal to their respective Lords, and both being heavily distrustful of everybody else. Also, Jakob has natural access to the Great Knight class. Their special conversation in the Before Awakening map has them bond around this, in their usual manner.
  • Follow in My Footsteps: He raised his son to be a Battle Butler just like him.
  • Haughty Help: Jakob is Corrin's personal butler and attendant, and serves them with the utmost care and is unfailingly polite to them, even when things are rough. However, he's snobbish and rude to everyone else and strikes up conversations with others, even Corrin's close friends, just to mock them.
  • Heavy Sleeper: Not quite to the same extent as Dwyer or Mitama, but he admits in his free time quote that he likes taking naps and his roster-info states he's "not a morning person". This may be tied to his claims that he'll "rarely, if ever, sleep" when idle in Corrin's castle, as his Workaholic tendencies imply he rarely does anything else but chores otherwise.
  • Hidden Heart of Gold: If anyone so much as implies Jakob is actually a nice guy deep down, he will belligerently deny it and try to prove them wrong.
  • Hyper-Competent Sidekick: Corrin wants for nothing with Jakob - he's good at chores, cooking, holds vast knowledge on almost any subject, and is highly skilled in combat. According to his supports with Azura, this wasn't always the case; his parents were Nohr nobles who turned him over to the royal family, so at first he didn't know how to do most things, and it was only thanks to Corrin that he stayed in service.
  • I Am Very British: Speaks with a very formal Received Pronunciation accent in the English dub.
  • Jerkass to One: Inverted. He's quite the jerk to almost everyone that isn't Corrin.
  • Jerk with a Heart of Gold: Is callous to sometimes-hilarious extents towards almost anyone who isn't Corrin, who he loyally and enthusiastically serves. Hilariously, he's also this way towards his own son.
  • Laser-Guided Karma: Experiences this if paired with Setsuna. He will express annoyance at having to rescue Setsuna from pits and traps. Their "A" support starts with him stuck in a pit.
  • Last Guy Wins: If playing on the Birthright route with a male Corrin, he is the last generally eligible bachelor to join the party and thus qualifies for all of the women (except Felicia from a story standpoint).
  • Lightning Bruiser: If you immediately reclass him into Paladin, there's pretty much nothing stopping him from bulldozing a large portion of the game. This isn't the case where the Male Corrin is picked, however.
  • Love Confession:
I love you...I was always afraid to say it, but from now on I will tell you every single day. I love you.
  • No Social Skills: Is rude and dismissive to almost everyone. The very few exceptions include Corrin, Azura, Hinoka, Sakura, Nyx, and Mozu.
  • Not a Morning Person: His bio notes that he hates mornings the most out of everyone in the army.
  • Opposites Attract: In his S-support with Felicia.
  • Parental Abandonment: In his supports with both Azura and Mozu, he reveals that he was turned over to the royal family as a child, and he never saw his Blue Blood parents again. He even tells Azura that he can't remember what his parents looked like anymore.
  • Parental Favoritism: If he is Kana or Shigure's father, he is notably nicer to them than he is to Dwyer. Of course, this is by virtue of how their supports with their fathers are mostly the same regardless of who he is, but still.
  • Pre-Mortem One-Liner:
"I'm afraid this will be messy!"
"Time to take out the trash!"
"You are about to be served!"
    "You are excused!"
  • The Promise: If he gets an S-support with Oboro, he makes her personally promise that she will never oppose Corrin so he won't have to kill her over having to choose between the two persons he loves the most. In addition, if he gets an S-support with Camilla, he makes her promise that, if she ever has to choose between saving him and saving Corrin, she will save Corrin.
  • The Reliable One: Jakob proves himself to be a great asset to Corrin in innumerable departments from combat, to household chores, to advising. He even knows every inch of the Nohr kingdom in case Corrin should ever need directions.
  • Servile Snarker: Ever-polite and loyal as he is to Corrin, he does have some moments of snark, such as when trying to teach them to make tea:
Corrin: All I need to learn now is how to keep the tea from going bitter.
Jakob: Quite, but... I'm afraid we'll run out of tea leaves first. And by "we," I mean the nation.
  • Static Role, Exchangeable Character: With a male player character, Felicia takes on the role of primary assistant, but he ends up joining later.
  • Stiff Upper Lip: One of his voice clips has him say this trope word for word. Since he was given a British accent in the localization, it fits.
  • Sugar-and-Ice Personality: He's attentive and kind towards Corrin, but very rude and abrasive towards almost everyone else. This even extends to Dwyer, who is Jakob's son.
  • Supreme Chef: The food he cooks in My Castle gives very large stat boosts (Boosted stats +1; random stat +2) to whoever eats it. Another of the many contrasts between him and Felicia. He is in the same class (Exquisite) as Peri, Percy, and Anna.
  • Tough Love: His manner of raising Dwyer appears to be something along these lines. It appears to have worked very well when it came to Dwyer's butlering ability, but not so much his combat skills.
  • Training from Hell:
    • Both he and Felicia got their fighting competence by training under Gunter.
    • From his supports with Dwyer, he also seems to put his son through a version of this.
  • Took a Level in Badass: In his supports with Azura, Jakob admits he was basically talentless as a retainer when he first started out and put in serious work to get to where he is now - a large portion of which he attributes to Corrin, whose kindly acceptance of him gave Jakob the motivation to do better.
  • True Companions: If Corrin is ever in peril, Jakob will be there to aid them. His personal skill specifically serves to protect Corrin, and no matter what path is taken, Jakob will never be an enemy.
  • Tsundere: A mild type A. Most of the time when he does something nice, his words are along the lines of "it's not for you" or "I have nothing better to do anyway".
  • Undying Loyalty: Like Felicia, he'll follow Corrin if they choose Hoshido, or even if they abandon both sides in Revelation. Jakob's devotion is so strong that he, against his better judgement, aids Takumi in very dangerous archery practice just because refusing might disappoint Corrin. His unpaired ending states that while he received many job offers, he turned them all down in favor of remaining by Corrin's side.
  • Weak, but Skilled: Jakob is technically a promoted unit, but his base stats and experience gains are like that of a level 1 base class. As a result, his lack of promotion gains combined with his subpar growth rates mean he'll likely fall off in the long run, and even before then his offense is average at best. However, being a pre-promote who levels like a total rookie, he has a much easier time learning the most advanced of advanced skills before the rest of your team can even promote.
    • However, he can prove to be a very competent Great Knight if reclassed during the mid-game and you save up an Arms Scroll.
  • Worthy Opponent: Finds one in Frederick in the Before Awakening DLC, considering each other equals in regards to serving their lords and getting a few tips from him as well.

"I don't want to be a good warrior anyway! We have plenty of soldiers already. I want to be a good maid. I want to be able to mend clothes and make food and wash dishes and the like. Have you seen camp lately? We need that more than we need extra muscle."

A maid who personally cares for Corrin. A hard-worker who puts on a brave face, but also clumsy and prone to making mistakes. An ally regardless of Corrin’s chosen course, though she shows up sooner if the Male Corrin is selected. As a Maid, she can heal with staves, or attack with daggers, kunai, and shuriken hidden in the back of her heels. Very destructive. Her birthday is February 19th.

Class: Maid
Voiced by: Nozomi Sasaki (Japanese), Connor Kelly-Eiding (English)

  • Always Identical Twins: Averted, as with Kaze and Saizo, Felicia and her sister are fraternal twins of the same sex, which is a rarity in fiction.
  • Back-to-Back Badasses: In Chapter 7 of Conquest, Felicia backs up the Male Corrin when he is vastly outnumbered by Faceless.
  • Badass Adorable: Tiny, sweet, clumsy outside of combat, and a deadly fighter thanks to Gunter's training.
  • Battle Butler: Outright admits she's a better fighter than domestic servant. This comes in handy when Peri tries to murder her in their A Support.
  • Battle Couple: Can marry the Male Corrin, Jakob, Silas, Kaze, and any of the males on both sides (except Yukimura, Fuga, and Izana from Hoshido, and Shura and Gunter on the Nohr side).
  • Beware the Silly Ones: She might be clumsy, but she's also pretty deadly in combat thanks to Gunter's training.
  • Big Damn Heroes: When the Male Corrin is facing a group of Faceless all on his own, she shows up to save him.
  • Brilliant, but Lazy: Felicia deconstructs this since she's highly talented in fighting, but never gets any better at it because she doesn't want to develop that talent, due to her hating fighting.
  • Break the Cutie: Having to fight her older twin sister and watch her commit suicide by fire in the Hoshido route, resulting in her having a Heroic BSoD.
  • Bodyguard Crush: Her supports reveal that she's been crushing on Corrin a long time, too, so it overlaps into First Love as well.
  • Bunny-Ears Lawyer: She is a total klutz and a Lethal Chef, but what she lacks in skills as a maid, she makes up for as a combatant.
  • Cain and Abel: Becomes the latter to Flora, should Corrin side with Hoshido. It doesn't end well. This also briefly happens in the other 2 routes, Conquest and Revelation, where she ends up having to fight her sister with the Male Corrin, but unlike Birthright, it ends well.
  • Catchphrase: She always vocalizes her surprise or distress in a peculiar fashion.
"Whoa, whoa, whoa!" ("Hawawawawa!" in Japanese)
  • Combat Medic: As a maid, she can fight with knives and heal with staves.
  • Crouching Moron, Hidden Badass: While she's clumsy at domestic tasks, she's also a skilled warrior trained to protect Corrin.
  • Crutch Character: Downplayed but present. Her ability to debuff with knives is absolutely necessary early on for harder difficulty playthroughs, especially in Conquest where units that can use knives are more scarce.
  • Custom Uniform: Her outfit has a blue gem instead of a red one, and it's the only one of its kind even compared to her sister Flora.
  • Cute Clumsy Girl: A graceful person she is not. She's a classic example of a cute and hard-working but clumsy maid.
    • Her solo ending mentions her time on the battlefield helped her overcome her clumsiness. But she still would break a dish every now and then for old times' sake.
  • The Cutie: One of the most open-hearted and friendly characters among Corrin's allies, which makes her easy to like despite her shortcomings as a maid.
  • Does Not Like Spam: She claims to be allergic to milk should the player have a dairy tile in their castle. Not that this stops her from eating dishes made with milk in the Mess Hall, though.
  • First Girl Wins: If the Male Corrin marries her, due to being the first female unit recruited. Overlaps into First Love as well.
  • First-Name Basis: Near the end of their support line, Felicia will begin referring to Corrin without honorifics.
  • Foil:
    • To Jakob; she's social but clumsy, and he's cold but skilled. Naturally, they can get hitched.
    • Also to her twin Flora, as she's the better fighter but Flora's the better maid. Felicia also stays with Corrin, no matter what, while Flora's sense of duty to her father and the Ice Tribe compels her to leave Corrin's side.
    • One to Kaze as well, being the younger twin of two siblings who join Corrin regardless of the route chosen, but Kaze remains thoughtful and calm while Felicia is more open and excitable.
  • Foolish Sibling, Responsible Sibling: The Foolish to Flora's Responsible, being the clumsier, less competent maid.
  • Gameplay and Story Segregation: Felicia is supposed to be a more capable fighter than Flora. Flora's growths and bases (compared to if Felicia is recruited) are actually higher, as Felicia has stats more appropriate to a level one character despite being a promoted class. However, this may be the case as Felicia was stated to be a natural prodigy with weapons, whereas Flora had to work at it.
  • Gilded Cage: She's not just a domestic servant. She and Flora were actually kidnapped away from the village of the Ice tribe to be held hostage to prevent them from starting a violent insurrection. Felicia herself appears unaware of this, however; when Niles confronts her about it, she denies that she is a hostage. In Felicia's boss dialogue with Flora in the Nohr path, it's implied that Kilma and Flora deliberately kept Felicia in the dark.
  • Heroic BSoD: Watching her sister, Flora, burn herself to death in the Birthright route saddens Felicia for a while. She does come to terms with it eventually though.
  • An Ice Person: Like her father and twin, she can use ice powers to some degree. Also, all of her attacks passively produce an icy effect, though it has no effect on combat.
  • Innocent Blue Eyes: Sweet, kind, and packing very large blue eyes. Also doubles as Icy Blue Eyes because of the aforementioned Ice powers she has.
  • Innocently Insensitive: Mostly played for laughs but her ignorance of the situation ends up unintentionally deeply wounding her sister Flora in Birthright.
  • Insecure Love Interest: Shows shades of this in her S-rank support with high-ranking characters, such as the male Corrin and Leo, with some of her comments being along the lines of "I Can't Believe a Guy Like You Would Notice Me".
  • Irony:
    • Despite being much better at fighting, most of her supports show Felicia would rather improve on her maid skills and finds that to be more important since there are enough good fighters around anyway. If she raises it to S-rank, in her paired ending she decides to stop being a maid and instead becomes a military commander. Adding to that, it's during the war that she deems maid duties as more important, and only after the war that she decides she should be a commander.
    • Felicia hails from the Ice Tribe and generally is associated with the cold, yet her most reliable weapon in her base class is the Flame Shuriken.
  • Kindhearted Cat Lover: Her supports with Kaden involve them bonding over taking care of an injured kitty.
  • The Klutz: She's infamously careless and makes lots of mistakes, often dropping dishes and spilling tea.
  • Last Girl Wins: If playing on the Birthright route with a female Corrin, she is the last generally eligible bachelorette to join the party and thus qualifies for all of the men (except Jakob and Silas from a story standpoint).
  • Lethal Chef: Her clumsiness extends to cooking, often getting ingredients wrong or burning food. While working in the mess hall, Felicia's cooking skills are among the absolute worst. Her meals give a tiny boost to Magic and Strength, but actually minuses 1 point from all other stats that would have been increased, and can even inflict negative stats. In Fire Emblem Heroes, Lukas is one of the few people who actually likes Felicia's cooking.
  • Love Confession:
I'm so glad I didn't mess this up. I love you...
  • Major Injury Underreaction: Her defeat quote on a Non-Lethal K.O. has her remarking that she probably shouldn't be able to see her bone poking out like that. Though when you consider her healing abilities and lack of dexterity, this probably isn't her first compound fracture.
  • Meido: Her profession. Coupled with the Maid's combat abilities, Felicia effectively functions as a Ninja Maid.
  • Modern Major General: Felicia is a good healer and a highly capable warrior (and is even implied to have a decent grasp of tactics), but is absolutely awful at pretty much everything to do with being a maid... which is unfortunate, because that's her chosen occupation (and she hates fighting). In her ending, she eventually gives up on being a maid and goes on to become a celebrated general.
  • Mutual Envy: While Felicia is jealous of Flora for being a superior maid than her, Flora is jealous of Felicia's superior fighting skills.
  • Nice Girl: Despite being such a klutz, she's very friendly, especially compared to Jakob.
  • Ninja Maid: Is a lousy maid, but skilled with hidden weapons such as daggers and shuriken.
  • Opposites Attract: In her S-support with Jakob.
  • Plucky Girl: Many characters note that despite constantly embarrassing herself, Felicia never stays down for long.
  • The Pollyanna: Despite her many slip-ups and going through many tragic events in the story, Felicia remains her kind, cheerful self.
  • Pre-Mortem One-Liner
    "I won't mess this up!"
    "You're just a stain!"
    "I'm gonna break you!"
    "Here goes nothing!"
  • Reluctant Warrior: As her supports seem to indicate, Felicia absolutely hates fighting despite being really good at it.
  • Rose-Haired Sweetie: A very sweet, kind-hearted girl with salmon pink hair.
  • Shared Family Quirks: As it turns out, despite mostly being Polar Opposite Twins (please excuse the pun), Flora and Felicia both turn out to be Insecure Love Interests in their S Support with Corrin, with both getting incredibly flustered and having essentially a moment of "I Can't Believe a Guy Like You Would Notice Me" in their respective S Supports.
  • Shrinking Violet: As stated in her supports with Laslow, she's rather shy around strangers. Laslow attempts to help her get over it by teaching her to flirt with other men. This is a bit of a Mythology Gag - Maribelle had incredibly similar thought process with her attempts to embolden the similarly nervous Rose-Haired Sweetie Olivia in their own support conversations in Awakening. This in turn was heavily implied to inspire Olivia's advice to her future son, resulting in him being a shameless womanizer. Talk about coming full circle.
  • Sibling Team: Can be this with Flora on the Conquest and Revelation paths.
  • Squishy Wizard: Her growths put an emphasis on Magic and Resistance, making her an excellent healer but her low Strength growth hurts her potential as an attacker (though you can fix that by giving her a Flame Shuriken).
  • Static Role, Exchangeable Character: With a female player character, Jakob takes on the role of primary assistant, but she ends up joining later.
  • Stronger Sibling: Ever since their childhood, Felicia was naturally more adept with weapons than Flora.
  • Support Party Member: As a Maid she has unimpressive damage output, but she can use staves to heal other characters and inflict debuffs on enemies with knives or shuriken. Her personal ability, Devoted Partner, also gives extra buffs to Corrin if they are Paired Up with her as the supporter.
  • Suspiciously Similar Substitute: Of Sumia from Awakening. Even though they're surprisingly competent fighters, they're very clumsy outside of battle and sometimes pretty sensitive to criticism.
  • Training from Hell: Both she and Jakob got their fighting competence by training under Gunter.
  • True Companions: If Corrin is ever in peril, Felicia will be there to aid them. Her personal skill specifically serves to support Corrin, and no matter what path is taken, Felicia will never be an enemy.
  • Tsundere: Type B. While typically sweet, she can get feisty if she feels like she's being talked down to, particularly in her supports with Subaki, Saizo, and Takumi.
  • Undying Loyalty: She will follow Corrin even if they choose Hoshido, or even if they abandon both sides in Revelation. Her unpaired ending states that she remained Corrin's maid for the rest of her life.
  • The Unfettered: When it comes to protecting Corrin, Felicia does not hesitate even against her own sister and fellow tribe members, determined to defend her master to the last.
  • Weak, but Skilled: Felicia is technically a promoted unit, but her base stats and experience gains are like that of a level 1 base class. As a result, her lack of promotion gains combined with her subpar growth rates mean she'll likely fall off in the long run, and she's not going to be doing much damage unless she picks up a tome or a flame shuriken. However, being a pre-promote who levels like a total rookie, she has a much easier time learning the most advanced of advanced skills before the rest of your team can even promote.

    Kaze (Suzukaze)

Click here to see Kaze in Fire Emblem Heroes

"I come from a long line of ninja that have always served the Hoshidan royalty... I was trained from an early age. If anyone should have understood, it was me. For such incompetence, I should have paid with my life. There's no way I can ever heal the suffering I've caused you and your birth family. I should not even be allowed to speak with you... I am so sorry, Lord/Lady Corrin."

Comes from a long line of ninjas that has served the Hoshido for generations, but unlike most in his clan, he doesn't feel strong loyalty to a particular master. The polar opposite of his older twin brother Saizo; he’s polite, calm, and has quite a composed personality. He'll join Corrin in both campaigns. Everyone in the army likes him. His birthday is October 2nd.

Class: Ninja (default), Master Ninja (Heirs of Fate 6 DLC)
Voiced by: Daisuke Ono (Japanese), David Stanbra (English, Fire Emblem Fates), Xander Mobus (English, Fire Emblem Heroes)

  • Always Identical Twins: Averted, he and his brother are a rare fictional example of fraternal twins who are the same sex.
  • Animal Motif: It's never played completely straight but a few of his supports notably involve mice with both Orochi and Rinkah referring to themselves as mice when talking to him while his supports with Oboro are about a mouse hunt.
  • Battle Couple: Can marry the Female Corrin, Azura, and any of the females on both sides (except Reina and Scarlet from Hoshido, and Flora on the Nohr side).
  • Blue Oni: The blue to Saizo's red. Kaze is extremely relaxed and overall a Nice Guy, while Saizo is stern and can easily be angered.
  • Bodyguard Crush: Can develop one on the Female Corrin if S-Support is reached.
  • Born Unlucky:
    • In gameplay, Kaze's Luck growth of 20% is one of the lowest, tying with Nyx and Fuga, and beating only Reina (10%) and Arthur (5%). He also has a personal Luck modifier of -2, tying with Camilla for the second-lowest and only beating Arthur and a Corrin with Luck as their bane (-3 each).
    • In story, Kaze was unable to prevent Corrin's kidnapping all those years ago, and he can additionally die on Birthright should he not obtain an A-support with Corrin.
  • But for Me, It Was Tuesday: In their A support, Camilla thanks him for saving some of her subordinates from an ambush. Kaze has no idea what she's talking about; Camilla reasons that such a thing must be unremarkable for a man like Kaze.
  • Cain and Abel: Will possibly become this with Saizo if you side with Nohr.
  • Clueless Chick-Magnet:
    • In his C Support with Corrin, Kaze mentions that random women tend to approach him to talk or give him gifts, and he can't understand why. Corrin has to tell him that it's because they find him attractive. If he marries Corrin, he'll find that his son, Kana, has inherited this trait, with random girls giving him tons of gifts and food at the Hoshidan Festival.
    • In his supports with Nyx, his casual speech is so alluring she accuses him of flirting with her.
  • Foil:
    • Serves as one to Felicia, also being a younger twin sibling who's opposite of the older, and joins Corrin regardless of the route chosen, but Kaze is level-headed and competent while Felicia is excitable and klutzy.
    • Also serves as one to Silas. Both Kaze and Silas will join Corrin in all three scenarios, even if it means defecting to the other country. Both pledge Undying Loyalty to Corrin due to a childhood connection: in Silas' case, a warm friendship, but in Kaze's case, it was guilt for not having prevented their kidnapping. Kaze joins Corrin's party before the route split, and remains in the party if they side with Hoshido, but he won't join until chapter 11 is cleared in Conquest— however, the map has a 'Defeat the Boss' objective and it's entirely possible (though difficult) not to fight him, he'll still join because he overhears Corrin expressing their desire for peace. Silas, on the other hand, is recruited after the route split in both Conquest's and Birthright's chapter 7, alongside the youngest princess and her retainers. He'll come to reinforce you on Conquest, but is trying to take you back to Nohr and must be defeated in Birthright. At chapter's end, though, he instantly agrees to defect for Corrin's sake. They're both friendly nice guys who spend their Supports trying to help their comrades, and are considered trustworthy friends by nearly everyone, even if they are the turncoat on that route— but Silas is subject to more open hostility from the Hoshidans, while the Nohrians Kaze supports with are rarely wary of him and respect his reputation and skills.
  • Fragile Speedster: Kaze has a very high Speed growth, and good Skill and Resistance, but he has average Strength and poor Luck and Defense.
  • The Gadfly: If he's not around someone he regards as a superior, then he can be rather lighthearted and teasing while pretending to be completely serious. He's able to beat Orochi at her own game in their supports, teases Rinkah over sweets and plays along while she (very poorly) lies to his face, and pokes fun at Nyx over her love of romance novels.
  • Glad-to-Be-Alive Sex: Implied in Birthright. Normally, when two units gain an S-rank support, a Paralogue will immediately open up allowing the player to recruit their child. In Birthright, however, Midori's paralogue will remain closed until after Chapter 15 if Kaze has an S-rank support before then. The same does not hold true for a Kaze-fathered Shigure or Kana, however. However, it's easily averted if he's not married by that point.
  • Gameplay and Story Integration: Kaze says in his B support with Kagero that while he's confident in his stealth and speed, he's less certain of himself in direct combat. This is indeed true in gameplay, as Kaze has very high Skill and Speed, but low Strength and Defense.
  • Gratuitous Ninja: If playing Conquest.
  • Guide Dang It!: In Birthright, the game makes zero mention that you have to have Corrin reach an A-support with him to prevent his death.
  • Heroic Sacrifice: If Corrin does not achieve at least an A support by Chapter 15 of Birthright, then as the two dangle over a cliff, he tosses them to Hinoka and safety before falling to his death.
  • Heroic Self-Deprecation: He's still kicking himself for being unable to stop Sumeragi's death and Corrin's kidnapping, even though he was far too young to have possibly done anything. It's also implied he's a bit insecure about the fact that, unlike his brother, he doesn't directly serve any royal, which is part of the reason why he becomes so loyal to Corrin.
  • Hoist by His Own Petard: A very, very strange variant. In his S-support with with Orochi, Kaze proposes to her after they've continually had games of her trying to catch him. Orochi stops, asks to see the ring and ends up putting the ring on him. She even name-drops the trope after doing so.
  • I Am Not Pretty: He doesn't consider himself attractive, which contributes to his inability to understand why ladies like him.
  • Informed Attractiveness: More than a few characters will comment that Kaze is very easy on the eyes and is quite popular with the ladies. Which he is, but so are most if not nearly all of the recruitable characters.
  • Irony: Several previous members of the Abel archetype were Chivalrous Perverts. Kaze is instead a Clueless Chick-Magnet.
  • I Owe You My Life: His decision to side with Corrin is partially influenced by them sparing his life.
  • It's All My Fault: Kaze blames himself for Corrin being kidnapped, since he was present and couldn't do anything to stop it.
  • Locked Out of the Loop: Kaze is unaware that his and Saizo's father, the former Saizo, had been murdered by Kotaro from Mokushu. He only knows that their dad had died in the line of duty, and when he does find out the truth, he feels horrible because this means his twin brother had carried an enormous amount of pain and anger on his own for years.
  • Loophole Abuse: Since he has no one master among the Hoshidan royalty, he can pledge his services to Corrin since they are still a Prince/ss of Hoshido regardless of the route choice.
  • Love Confession:
My liege… my love… I adore you with all my being. I promise to treasure you forever… and to keep you in my heart, always.
  • Mage Killer: He's a great anti-magic unit due to his good Resistance growth and weapon triangle advantage against mages.
  • Married to the Job: The reason he's uninterested in romantic entanglements; he'd rather focus on his duties. Averted if the player has him achieve an S-rank with someone, however.
  • Meaningful Name: "Suzukaze" means "cool breeze" and is the name of a Japanese destroyer from the Imperial Japanese Navy. "Kaze" directly translates to "wind," and he is somewhat famous for his amazing speed amongst Nohrians, i.e. "swift as the wind."
  • My Greatest Failure: Corrin's kidnapping is this for him, and he considers himself an Unwitting Instigator of Doom for not having been able to do something. This is despite the fact that he would have been a kid himself at the time, and really couldn't be held responsible.
  • Mundane Made Awesome: His potato peeling skills are so fast Mozu is left astounded. When he peels at his fastest speed he even begins shouting.
  • Nice Guy: Kaze is a calm, kind, and polite ninja.
  • Not So Above It All: Midori mentions she saw Kaze get into a disagreement with his brother once about the proper application of an herb. Their argument escalated to the point where they got into a fistfight.
  • Oblivious to Love: See Clueless Chick-Magnet above. Ultimately averted once he reaches a S-Support.
  • One-Hit Kill: Can learn Lethality if promoted to Master Ninja.
  • Polar Opposite Twins: With his older brother. They form a Red Oni, Blue Oni pair. Gameplay wise, one always joins you, the other only joins you on a specific path. Kaze is the former.
  • Pre-Mortem One-Liner
    "The pain will pass!"
    "It ends here!"
    "I'll make this quick!"
    "You leave me no choice!"
  • Recurring Element: The green knight to Saizo's red. Only this time they're ninjas instead of horse riders. And unlike the major part of these characters, Kaze can be killed through a Heroic Sacrifice in the Hoshido route — unless Corrin has at least an A support with him.
  • Red Oni, Blue Oni: The blue to Saizo's red, with Kagero as their mediator. Their epitaphs allude to this as the Easygoing, Angry, and Traditional Ninjas respectively.
  • Security Blanket: A mild example, but he mentions in the Ghostly Gold DLC that he has a favorite pillow that makes it easier for him to fall asleep.
  • Sensitive Guy and Manly Man: Kaze is the Sensitive Guy to Saizo's Manly Man.
  • Shout-Out: While him and Saizo's colors are obviously fulfilling the archetype of the cavalier duo (except this time as ninjas), it couldn't have been a coincidence that they're twin brothers and Kaze, the younger one, is green.
  • Sibling Team: Can be this with Saizo on the Birthright and Revelation paths.
  • Sibling Yin-Yang: He's easygoing and polite, while Saizo is gruff and strict.
  • Star-Crossed Lovers: Potentially on Birthright with any woman he marries, sans the Female Corrin. If he doesn't have an A-support with Corrin, Kaze can die via Heroic Sacrifice leaving his wife widowed and without a child, unless he marries Azura, and even that situation is just going ensure that Shigure is an orphan by the end.
  • Stealth Hi/Bye: All Hoshidan ninja are stealthy, but Kaze is so silent he often scares people because he forgets to announce his presence first, and often leaves abruptly to the annoyance of others.
  • Token Enemy Minority: On a Conquest campaign, Kaze is the only Hoshidan unit to explicitly turn his coat and choose to defect to Nohr. His daughter Midori is following him, Mozu is a refugee, and the capturable bosses were, well, captured.
  • Undying Loyalty: To Corrin. Kaze will join on all three paths, even if it means turning his back on Hoshido. Should they reach A support, Kaze will swear absolute loyalty to Corrin alone, and Corrin dubs him their official retainer.
  • Unwitting Instigator of Doom: Kaze believes that him not reporting some odd behaviors he noticed in Garon's entourage is among the causes behind Sumeragi's murder and Corrin's kidnapping.
  • Wax On, Wax Off: Part of Kaze's ninja training was doing mundane chores that contribute towards refining his martial arts. As a result, he's very skilled at things like painting fences, polishing armor and cooking.
  • Wind Is Green: "Kaze" means "wind" in Japanese, and his hair is green.
  • You Lose at Zero Trust: In Birthright, if he doesn't have an A support with Corrin by chapter 15, he bites it.

    Silas (Cyrus)

"It makes me happy to reunite with a childhood friend likes this."

A silver-haired cavalier from Nohr who will join you regardless of your alliance. He's a good friend of Corrin's from their childhood, but Corrin completely forgot about him due to how young they were when they were separated. He is a perfect knight, with a strong sense of honor and chivalry. Worst "bedhead" in the army. His birthday is November 1st.

Class: Cavalier (default), Paladin (Heirs of Fate 6 DLC)
Voiced by: Shou Okumura (Japanese), Antony Del Rio (English)

  • Agent Scully: His support with Orochi shows that he's rather skeptical about the legitimacy of fortune-telling.
  • Anti-Villain: In both Birthright and Revelation, he shows up as a reluctant enemy to Corrin. In Birthright he tries to get them to return to Nohr so he doesn't have to kill them, while in Revelation he's willing to go through with (but clearly isn't happy about it).
  • Armor-Piercing Attack: Can get Luna if promoted to Great Knight, which has a chance to let him ignore half of the opponent's Defense.
  • Battle Couple: Can marry the Female Corrin, Azura, and any of the females on both sides (except Scarlet and Reina from Hoshido, and Flora on the Nohr side).
  • Belligerent Sexual Tension: His Supports with Hana give off this vibe, with them getting into a fight about who fell in love with the other first after they confess their feelings.
  • Best Friend: He claims to be this even though Corrin doesn't even remember who he is. They can get their memories of their friendship back if you support them, though.
  • Best Friends-in-Law: Can become this with Corrin, if he marries Sakura, Hinoka, Elise, or Camilla even if none of them are actually blood relatives. Azura definitely counts though. Or if Corrin, or their child, marries his daughter Sophie.
  • Birds of a Feather:
    • He and either Effie or Hana are both very devoted to their lord, who also happens to be their best friend, and their goals revolve around self-improvement for the sake of protecting them.
    • He and Mozu have similarly kind and humble personalities.
  • Big Damn Heroes: How he joins you in Conquest: he and Elise show up to save your skin from an onslaught of Faceless.
  • Blue Blood: In his B Support with Charlotte, he mentions that he's actually from a family of Nohrian nobility.
  • Brutal Honesty: Silas wants to help people better themselves, but he can be pretty tactless when delivering his criticism. His remarks about the various activities Kagero is doing in their Supports come across as vindictive (such as his comments about her art being "monstrous"), while his C Support with Hana has him technically insult her battle prowess by saying she was underwhelming and that Sakura deserves a better retainer.
  • Childhood Friends: He's known Corrin since they were kids, and they would often play together when they were younger.
  • Childhood Friend Romance: Should he and a Female Corrin gain an S-support. Surprisingly, he can become this to Camilla in the localization, as they reveal in their A-Support that they had feelings for each other when they were younger.
  • Chronic Hero Syndrome: Silas has a strong sense of chivalry, always attentive to the needs and distress of others, and cannot help but involve himself in the problems of others once he becomes aware of them.
  • Critical Status Buff: Not him personally, but with Corrin. His personal skill, Vow of Friendship, lets him deal 3 additional damage and take 3 less damage if Corrin's HP is below 50%. Since Corrin can tank enough damage that wouldn't kill them with their Dragonstone, it allows Silas to deal a lot of damage and take a lot of damage during the early game.
  • Damage Reduction: Can get Aegis if promoted to Paladin, or Armored Blow if promoted to Great Knight.
  • Declaration of Protection: His only ambition is to protect the people he cares about, especially Corrin.
  • Defeat Means Friendship: Downplayed since you are already friends, but in Birthright and Revelation you have to beat the snot out of him before he joins your party.
  • Disc-One Nuke: On the Birthright and Conquest routes, he joins in the first chapter after the route split and his starting skills give him bulk and power comprable to Effie without her speed and mobility issues.
  • Forgotten Childhood Friend: Got kicked out of the castle many years ago, and Corrin initially can't remember him. A-ranking their support reveals that Corrin was conditioned by their retainers and servants to forget Silas existed, in order to stop them from crying in his absence.
  • Foil:
    • To Jakob. Both are loyal childhood friends to Corrin, but while Silas is very open-hearted and willing to help anyone, Jakob actively makes himself exclusive to Corrin's care. Their supports focus on this difference.
    • Also serves as one to Kaze. Both Kaze and Silas will join Corrin in all three scenarios, even if it means deserting and defecting to the other country. Both pledge Undying Loyalty to Corrin due to a childhood connection— in Silas' case, a warm friendship; in Kaze's case, guilt for not preventing their kidnapping. Silas joins Corrin immediately after the route split in Conquest and Birthright, alongside the youngest princess and her retainers— if playing Birthright, you'll already have gotten Kaze before then, but if playing Conquest, he'll join 4 chapters later. In Revelations, however, Kaze joins alongside Hoshido's youngest princess and her retainers, while you'll get Silas in chapter 14, alongside Nohr's youngest princess and her retainers. Silas' and Kaze's support chains trend along similar themes, with both of them attempting to help their various comrades with their problems and acting as a straight man to their comedic foibles, though Kaze's assistance tends to be immediately appreciated because he's rather lowkey about it, while Silas' is often resented at first, because he's more direct and critical, though it always is coming from a good place. Compare their supports with Felicia— Kaze follows her around and helps her with her chores so discreetly that she doesn't always notice him, and it takes a couple conversations before he admits that he's doing so by Corrin's request, while Silas bluntly tells her that people suspect her cooking of making Corrin sick and to be more careful. Interestingly, in their mutual support chain, since they can't both be the helpful agony aunt straight man, Kaze ends up having his seriousness and helpfulness taken up to comedic foible levels because Silas saves his life from a Faceless and he's attempting to repay the debt, while Silas plays the straight man who has to sit through Kaze's many, many attempts to help him with things he doesn't need help with, until Kaze gets the chance to save his life in return, and Silas begins wondering how he can repay him... though, in the end, they decide they just want to hang out together without worrying about repaying favors and helping each other.
  • Friendless Background: Before he met Corrin, Silas had no friends and was rather antisocial. His parents set up a playdate hoping to change this, and it worked.
  • Grow Old with Me: In his S-Support with Charlotte.
  • Hazy-Feel Turn: Defects to Hoshido after being defeated in chapter 7 of Birthright, and chapter 14 of Revelation.
  • Heroic Resolve: His personal skill makes him stronger should Corrin be at half health or less.
  • Honor Before Reason: Claims that his oath as a knight means more to him than anything else, even his own life. The reason he's okay with defecting is because he took that oath for Corrin's sake, so not defecting would actually have broken it more. His supports with Oboro also mention him going out of his way to save enemy civilians, and his supports with Hinoka reveal he lets enemies who surrender flee.
  • Horseback Heroism: How he introduces himself in Conquest, appearing as Corrin is almost overwhelmed by Faceless in a swamp to rescue them from atop his horse. He joins the party once the chapter is over.
  • Humble Hero: Despite being coming from a Blue Blood background, his friendship towards Corrin is the only thing he holds value to. He is also willing to protect anyone and does not ask for anything in return.
  • I Owe You My Life: His devotion to Corrin is partially fueled by how they saved him from being executed in the past.
  • Innocently Insensitive: Silas can occasionally be insulting without intending to come across as such—for example, he doesn't realize how much his criticism of Kagero's artwork hurts her feelings.
  • Jack of All Stats: Has good bases and growths all around save for Magic and Resistance, which he wouldn't need as much in the physical classes he has access to. His growths as a Cavalier and Mercenary encourages this, and if raised well he can end up a Lightning Bruiser.
  • Lonely Rich Kid: A few of his supports imply he was this as a child, as he had no friends until he met Corrin, hence his Undying Loyalty to them. He also didn't have any siblings, which is partly why he was envious of Corrin's relationship with Camilla and why, when Elise asks what he would like as a reward for running an errand for her, he asks if she could be his little sister for a day.
  • Love at First Sight: Zig-Zagged with the Female Corrin. He acknowledges the absurdity of the concept, which is why it takes until S-rank for him to accept that it was the case for him with her, and even then his admission is tinged with embarrassment.
  • Love Confession:
I've always cherished you as my best friend, but now you're so much more. I love you, and I'm honored to be your partner in this life. I promise to never leave you again.
    • Hilariously, in his English A-support with Camilla he accidentally gives one to her and she responds she felt the same way at one point. Naturally, they can have a proper Relationship Upgrade if one wishes.
  • Mighty Glacier: Starts out like this in Revelation.
  • Nice Guy: Brutal Honesty aside, Silas is a genuinely upstanding and humble guy who constantly tries to help out others, often going out of his way to do so.
  • Normal Fish in a Tiny Pond: In Conquest, he's quite useful but will eventually be overshadowed by most other horse riding characters and especially other Cavaliers/Great Knights/Paladins. In Revelations this is made even worse due to how late he joins compared to the other campaigns. In Birthright, however, which mostly features much fewer mounted classes and characters with access to them, his presence is more appreciable even in the late game, since while he can't fly, he can still move at a much faster pace than most and his personal skill allows him, when paired with the Avatar at C Support or more, to deal +5 damage while taking -5 which is quite strong in the early game. He is also the main way to acquire more of the Cavalier class as one of only two units on that path, the other being Jakob, who has the Cavalier as a base class and between the two, is the only one who can pass it along via his A+ Supports with Kaze and Ryoma, his S-Support with any of his potential wives and his daughter Sophie's A+ and S-Supports as well.
  • Only Sane Man: As one of the most normal characters in the game, Silas is naturally this in almost all of his supports.
  • Pre-Mortem One-Liner
    "I will protect my friends!"
    "Stand down!"
"Fall so that others may live!"
    "I'll make this quick!"
  • The Reliable One: The rest of the army seems to view him as this, considering how willing they are to open up about very personal issues to him or ask for his help in matters.
  • Rescue Romance: Can have this with Azura, who saves him from an unknown monster who snuck into his tent while he slept during their B support.
  • Second Love: His localized A Support with Camilla reveals that they both had feelings for each other when they were younger, but they never entered a relationship and decide during their conversation that it's probably better that way. Anybody he marries before or after that conversation will be his second major love.
  • Token Enemy Minority: On a Birthright campaign, though considering you'll also get Jakob, Felicia, and Scarlet, it's not that 'token.'
  • Took a Level in Kindness: A mild example, but his supports with Ryoma imply that Silas was less outgoing and friendly as a child. Corrin helped him change that.
  • Trickster Mentor: His supports with Rinkah revolve around him using a game of Predator — the Nohrian equivalent of Tag — to get her to talk to and open up around the others in the army.
Rinkah: Well... I talked to the troops and got them to tell me where you ran off to. Then they all helped me... look for you... Oh no... Don't tell me you were trying to get me to talk to people the whole time.
Silas: Guilty as charged. I figured it would work, since you'd do anything to win.
  • Undying Loyalty: He's utterly devoted to Corrin above all else. He spent years working his way into the Nohrian army to become a knight in order to be reunited with them, and is perfectly willing to betray his country just to stick by their side.
  • Your Favorite: Each time he is recruited, he brings with him Corrin's supposedly favorite food from their childhood.

    Mozu (Mozume)

Click here to see Mozu in Fire Emblem Heroes

"Y-yes. I'm fine. I just had a dream about my hometown. Before the Faceless came. I saw them all. I talked to them. My family, my friends, all the townspeople. Then I woke up. And it's like they were taken from me a second time... WHY?! Why did it have to happen to them? What did any of them DO?!"

A Hoshidan villager; a farmer’s daughter who’s good at farming. Has a heavy accent and a unique way of speaking. Although she’s meek, often hesitant and lacks confidence, she always works her hardest so she’s useful for everyone and always does things as best as she can. Mozu is one of the units who can join the player in all 3 routes. The best at survival. Her birthday is October 6th.

Class: Villager
Voiced by: Juri Kimura (Japanese), Karen Strassman (English)

  • Absurdly Youthful Mother: Mozu is probably around Hana and Sakura's age, but fully S-supportable as well.
  • Action Survivor: She was just an ordinary farm girl when her village was massacred by Faceless, but managed to survive long enough for Corrin and their group to save her. Her survival skills are even considered a defining trait for her in her roster description.
  • Badass Adorable: She happens to be as cute as a button, yet she's capable of defending herself:
    • In her B-Support with Corrin she tells the story of how she managed to kill a boar and a bear on two separate occasions by herself, the former using solely a knife.
    • In her B-Support with Ryoma she reveals that she's actually capable of keeping up with him while sparring despite her relative inexperience in combat and Ryoma's training and natural competence with a blade.
  • Battle Couple: Can be this with the Male Corrin, and any of the males on both sides (Except for Izana and Yukimura of Hoshido, Gunter of Nohr, and Shura).
  • Birds of a Feather: Her Supports with Keaton are based around the fact that both are country-folk. The same goes for Silas due to their similar personalities.
  • Book Dumb: While she has a lot of practical knowledge, especially about wilderness survival and farming, she doesn't have much in the way of formal education. Her supports with Nyx and Corrin have her working on changing this.
  • Break the Cutie: The destruction of her hometown and the loss of her mom was this for her.
  • Brutal Honesty: Despite her outwardly meek appearance, Mozu actually possesses a hidden sharp tongue and is not afraid to speak her mind, even to those of a higher status than her. This is especially shown in her supports with Takumi, in which Mozu is unusually passive-aggressive when he accidentally tramples over her garden. When Takumi offers to make up for it, Mozu outright tells him he'd be a lousy farmer.
  • Character Development: When the player first comes across her, she starts out as a cowardly young girl who has low self-confidence. However, supports with her shows that she's willing to become a more self-confident girl who is willing to fight alongside her comrades. This is quite evident with her supports with Jakob and Silas. This apparently reflects on her nature as a unit.
  • Cowardly Lion: Considering that she's an ordinary villager, Mozu is understandably afraid of combat. Her battle animations as a Villager actually show her trembling in fear before attacking her enemy and breathing a sigh of relief if she wins.
  • Curtains Match the Window: Mozu's eyes and hair are the exact same shade of brown.
  • Doomed Hometown: The reason why she joins Corrin's army. In her C support with Jakob, she's still reeling from the trauma and a bit prone to Tender Tears for it. Her endings reveal that she eventually decides to return to the village to rebuild it.
  • Foil: With many characters in both Hoshido and Nohr:
    • To Oboro. Oboro is an urban Fashionista who actively cares for her appearance, meanwhile Country Mouse Mozu neither cares for nor has much confidence in her appearance.
    • She and Keaton both come from the country, but he does his best to downplay and outright deny it while she's proud of it. In their Supports, she constantly ribs him about it, much to his consternation.
    • She and Jakob suffered tragedies where they lost someone close. Whereas Mozu still holds emotional attachment to everyone killed in her Doomed Hometown, Jakob never held any emotional attachment to his own hometown nor his parents due to being abandoned. Furthermore, Mozu is a kindhearted young girl who shows concern for everyone, while Jakob is a cold Tsundere that only shows concern to Corrin.
    • She and Silas both have kind-hearted and humble personalities, but whereas Silas is a trained soldier and Blue Blood, Mozu grew up as a simple villager who still struggles with combat.
  • Fragile Speedster: Has very high skill, speed, and luck growths, but her defensive stats are very low. Depending on her support classes and the general luck of your draws, however, she will become either a Glass Cannon or a Lightning Bruiser. Her stat growths are close to the highest in the game, allowing her to transition into most classes in the game with very few shortcomings.
  • Geo Effects: Her personal skill Forager makes it so she recovers 20% of her HP when standing on Mountain, Forest, Field, or Wasteland terrain.
  • Gender Flip: Her personality, class, speech patterns, and appearance make her more or less a Suspiciously Similar Substitute to Donnel from Fire Emblem: Awakening.
  • Heroic Self-Deprecation:
    • Seems to be a bit insecure, as her initial reply to Jakob's marriage proposal in their S support can be summed up in "But I'm Not Pretty!".
    • Her Supports with Oboro also have her doing this in response to the attention she gets upon changing her wardrobe.
    • Her first reaction when Corrin comments on her physical strength in their C-Support is to immediately downplay it.
    • Her S-Supports with Ryoma and Takumi have her thinking that they'd never work out due to differences in social class.
  • Hidden Depths: Despite her unassuming and timid nature, she's a skilled hunter and has killed large animals like boars and bears on her own with only a knife.
  • Humble Hero: She has shown little to no interest in appearance or luxuries, as evident with her supports with Oboro. She also doesn't ask anything in return as evident with her A support with Niles, as she was surprised that Niles is willing to go through great lengths to get her jade pendant back for her despite the fact that Niles was acting mean towards her in the previous support conversation. The only thing she holds value to is her happy memories from her Doomed Hometown and being part of the new family with Corrin, and nothing else.
  • Love Confession:
You've opened up a whole new world to me! Let's explore it together.
  • Luminescent Blush: It goes all the way to her ears.
  • Magikarp Power: Like most "villager" classes, she starts out weak, but becomes one of your best late game units. Even more so in the Nohr route where she's one of the few characters that can access bows by either promotion to Merchant, or reclassing to Sniper where she takes full advantage of her speed and skill growth.note
  • Meaningful Name: "Mozu" is Japanese for shrike, and much like a shrike's hunting patterns, her default method of attack is spearing her enemies. Her default color scheme also references the brown shrikes commonly found in Japan.
  • Muscles Are Meaningless: Despite her slight build, she can easily carry around a huge basket of vegetables that Corrin couldn't even move with in their C-Support.
  • Nice Girl: Very kind and helpful towards others. This trope is actually one of the reasons why Saizo is quite soft on her.
  • The Nose Knows: Tells Keaton she can tell he's from the country based on how he smells.
  • Plucky Girl: She has her ups and downs, specially after being the Sole Survivor of her village, but she ultimately keeps going on.
  • Pre-Mortem One-Liner:
    "You reap what you sow!"
    "You smell like a goat!"
    "You're a bad apple!"
    "I can do this!"
  • Prone to Tears: She's prone to crying relatively easily, especially when reminded about her Doomed Hometown.
  • She Cleans Up Nicely: Mozu's Supports with Oboro reveal that with the right outfit and some makeup she can easily attract guys.
  • Shrinking Violet: She starts off rather shy, though she gets better as her support chains go on.
  • Sole Survivor: The only survivor of her village, which was ransacked by the Faceless monsters.
  • Stronger Than They Look: Despite looking small and thin, she is actually fairly strong thanks to her rural upbringing. She can easily lift something like a huge basket of vegetables.
  • Supreme Chef: She's known to be a very good cook, and gameplay wise, if you make her the chef in the mess hall, the stuff she cooks boost all of your characters' stats (+1 for all stats, additional +1 for random stat) for the next battle. She is in the same cooking category (Delicious) as Mitama, Caeldori, Dwyer, and Flora. In-story, one of her mess hall quotes mentions she was pretty well known in her village even beforehand for her cooking skill.
  • Survivor's Guilt: In her B Support with Niles, she alludes to feeling guilty about being the only person who survived out of her entire village.
  • Team Chef: Is more or less in charge of food acquisition for the army, and a lot of her Supports have to do with either collecting produce or cooking.
  • Tender Tears: Despite wishing to build up more self-confidence, she is still traumatized from the destruction of her village and loss of everyone she knew and prone to cry easily. This is quite evident with her supports with Jakob.
  • Through His Stomach: A lot of Mozu's Supports have people mention that part of their attraction to her besides her resolve is that they love her cooking.
  • Tragic Keepsake: She tells Niles in their supports that the only actual memento she has from her hometown is a jade jewel that once was its treasure... but she lost it to other bandits. If the player pursues more support talks between the two, Niles has quite the Pet the Dog moment by getting the jewel back for her.
  • Youthful Freckles: Like with Scarlet, they aren't easy to see, but they're there.

    Shura (Ashura)
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/asyura17.png

"It was. It was a beautiful, mountainous land, lush with greenery. And our people...they were so joyous—so cheerful. The laughter never truly ceased. In truth, it may not have been too different from other small countries... Nostalgia could easily have clouded my judgment in such matters. But for me it will always be an earthly paradise... one that must be restored at all costs."

The leader of a Nohrian band of thieves. He was born in Hoshido and lived in the now-ruined Duchy of Kohga, and if his life is spared, he can join Corrin's cause in all paths. Originally a ninja who served the royal family, he disguised himself as a common crook to keep low. Has an aloof attitude, but is kind at heart. The best at long-distance swimming. His birthday is December 21st.

Class: Adventurer
Voiced by: Madoka Shiga (Japanese), David Stanbra (English)

  • Already Done for You: How he is introduced in Revelation. Shura is found gathering strength from the Rainbow Sage to defeat the boss you killed 4 chapters ago, and joins you out of gratitude when he learns you exacted his revenge for him.
  • And This Is for...: He can deliver one of these to Kotaro if allowed to fight him in Conquest Chapter 17.
  • The Atoner: When spared in either route. He wishes to rebuild his hometown of Kohga, and is not too happy about his past actions.
  • Battle Couple: He fights alongside and can S-Support with a Female Corrin.
  • Combat Medic: Uses bows and healing staves as an Adventurer.
  • Dub Name Change: From Ashura to Shura, possibly because his original name was pronounced similarly to Azura's English name.
  • Earn Your Happy Ending: If he survives to the end of any of the campaigns his endings states he succeeds in rebuilding Kohga with the help of Hoshido... and additionally, if he stays unmarried, he becomes its elected ruler.
  • Face Death with Dignity: If the player chooses to execute him in Conquest.
  • Former Regime Personnel: After the fall of Kohga he was known for taking up paid jobs in addition to being a thief. Jobs such as helping to kidnap Azura.
  • Freudian Excuse: Being forced to live as a common bandit didn't do him too good for his honor after his hometown was felled.
  • Gameplay and Story Segregation: Even though he hails from Hoshido (Albeit having spent a large portion of his life in Nohr), he is considered Nohrian mechanically because his base class is a Nohrian class, Outlaw. As a result, he still takes bonus damage from Oboro's Nohr Enmity.
  • Heroic Self-Deprecation: His self-image is noticeably poor after everything he's been though and often makes jabs at himself.
  • Hidden Heart of Gold: He tries to drive away the female Corrin from spending time with him, as he worries that it would be bad for her reputation to be in the company of a thief.
  • It's Personal: With Kotaro of Mokushu for his hand in the fall of Kohga.
  • Jerk with a Heart of Gold: He's somewhat rude, impatient, and grumpy, but despite fate throwing him under the bus he's got a kind heart deep down.
  • Justified Criminal: He was forced to choose between starving or stealing after the fall of Kohga. He chose to steal.
  • Last Guy Wins: He's the last man encountered in the story in Birthright, and thus has a claim to this if he romances the female Corrin.
  • Long Range Combatant: Uses bows in his default class.
  • Love Confession:
This dream was built to last. No matter where the future takes us...
  • Lucky Seven: He can learn this skill, which grants +20 Hit rate and Avoid for the first seven Turns.
  • Master of Unlocking: Starts out with the Locktouch skill.
  • Meaningful Name: The Shura were malevolent deities who participated in many wars. He attempted to start one by helping Hoshido abduct Azura for Revenge against Mokushu, and is very unhappy for such an action.
  • Ninja: Fittingly as a Kohga citizen, he can reclass back to a Master Ninja or Mechanist.
  • Palette Swap: His Adventurer outfit has green accents as opposed to the uniform blue.
  • Pre-Mortem One-Liner:
    "Get out of my way!"
    "No one beats me!"
    "Now you've done it!"
    "It's your time to die!"
  • Sole Survivor: He's almost all that's left of Kohga.
  • Tears of Joy: In the Hoshidian's Festival DLC, should he be Kana's father, Shura will cry after his son confessed him how much he admired his father and shares his dream to rebuild Kohga together. He'll denies he does as "tears don't suits a dirty thief like him" when Kana worries about having hurt his feelings.
  • Theme Song Reveal: Uses the playable Hoshidan boss theme when fought, which is your first clue that he's more than the Nohrian bandit he seems.
  • Undying Loyalty: If spared in any route, he'll develop a deep loyalty and trust towards Corrin.
  • You Can't Go Home Again: In his supports with Corrin, he constantly mentions his desire to rebuild Kohga.

    Izana
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/izana_portrait.png
"Oh, ancient gods... What's up?"

Ruler of the Principality of Izumo. A descendant of the First Dragons with the power to predict the future. He has an unexpectedly cheerful and joking personality in contrast to his beautiful and divine appearance. Appears as an NPC in all three routes, but can also be recruited in Birthright and Conquest as a Secret Character. Speaks the most languages. His birthday is December 29th.

Class: Onmyoji
Voiced by: Koichi Tochika (Japanese), Liam O'Brien (English)

  • Affectionate Nickname: If he's Kana's father, he likes to refer to him as "Squishbubble."
  • Apologetic Attacker: Played with; one of the things he says after killing an enemy is a singsong, "Oops, sorry." He also apologizes sometimes in the Japanese version, but sounds much more sincere and even shocked (speaking in a somewhat unsteady voice).
  • Battle Couple: Can be this with the Female Corrin on the Hoshido and Nohr paths, but not on the Revelation route.
  • Beware the Silly Ones: Goofy demeanor aside, he's just as capable of kicking ass as anyone else in Corrin's army.
  • Brick Joke: Izana's mention of him winning the "Best Hair" contests comes back in his solo ending.
  • Bunny-Ears Lawyer: He's a head of state, yet acts in an extremely casual manner and seems to be more concerned with pleasure and other trivial things (like his hair). He's implied to still be competent at his job, and even has the ability to communicate with the gods.
  • Camp Straight: Big time.
  • Cast from Hit Points: He can commune with some pretty old gods, but they always demand something personal of him. In Revelation, the message he gets is that Corrin's cause is legitimate and that Takumi needs to trust him. He then dies soon after saying it.
  • Character Exaggeration: While he's relaxed and happy-go-lucky in the Japanese version, the localization plays up these traits substantially, to the point of rewriting a lot of his dialogue and his solo character ending to be more comedic than the original.
  • Cloudcuckoolander: In the North American version, he talks and acts like a party-obsessed sorority girl and hardly seems to care about the war at all.
  • Combat Medic: As an Onmyoji, he can use staves as well as tomes.
  • Cunning Linguist: Said to be the best with languages in the army.
  • Dropped a Bridge on Him: He is killed off in Revelation shortly after his first appearance.
  • Facial Markings: A red one on his forehead, and smaller ones under his eyes.
  • Heroic Sacrifice: Sacrifices his life in order to convince Takumi to trust Corrin in Revelation.
  • Keet: Is very cheerful and energetic, but no one wouldn't know it just by looking at him.
  • Last Guy Wins: He's the last man to appear in the story join the party in Conquest, so he qualifies if he romances the female Corrin.
  • Last Request: While his Plotline Death seems random, he makes use of it well by convincing Takumi to join Corrin. He goes as far as threatening Takumi to haunt him if he doesn't comply.
  • Long-Haired Pretty Boy: He has long, gorgeous white locks, adding to his beautiful appearance. He even wins "Best Hair in Izumo" six years in a row.
  • Love Confession:
We were destined to be together. I'm not even making that up...
  • Mutually Exclusive Party Members: He cannot be in the party alongside Fuga, who is exclusive to Revelation.
  • Mystical White Hair: Is shown communicating with various gods, and has very pretty white hair.
  • Omniglot: Izana is said to speak the most languages out of everyone in the army.
  • Pre-Mortem One-Liner
    "Prepare to be judged!"
    "I'm predicting this!"
    "This is the best part!"
    "And now...I rage!"
  • Red Mage: As an Onmyoji, he can attack with tomes/scrolls or heal with staves.
  • Reasonable Authority Figure: Rules over Izumo pretty well, and is more than happy to lend his aid in Corrin's time of need.
  • Secret Character: In Birthright and Conquest, he is recruited only if you level up the Hot Spring to level 3.
  • Stepford Smiler: Played for Laughs. If he does not marry the Female Corrin, his solo ending will say that he tried to throw parties and take vacations, but always felt hollow inside due to the war causing him to never win another "Best Hair in Izumo" contest.

    Fuga (Fuuga)
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/fuuga16.png
"You've shown some fortitude. Now show me that you're worthy of my attention!"

The chieftain of Hoshido’s Wind Tribe, and a good friend of the late King Sumeragi. He possesses a majesty unique to a veteran hero and his entire body exudes the presence of a stalwart warrior. He uses his opponent’s strength to determine their character and ability. In addition, he is Hayato's adoptive father. He is the most loved by children. Can be recruited solely in the Revelation route. His birthday is January 8th.

Class: Master of Arms
Voiced by: Hiroshi Matsumoto (Japanese), Imari Williams (English)

  • Bald of Authority: Fuga is the wise, serious chief of the Wind Tribe who has no hair on his head (save for his eyebrows).
  • Battle Couple: Can be this with the Female Corrin on the Revelation path.
  • Born Unlucky: It's not really that present in his character, but he actually ties with Kaze and Nyx for the third lowest Luck Stat in the game, clocking in at a palsy 20%.
  • Blow You Away: His attacks have a windy effect to them, though it has no effect gameplay-wise.
  • Cool Old Guy: A male Corrin considers him this in their support in Revelation
  • Friend to All Children: He has a fatherly side and children like him a lot.
  • Gameplay and Story Segregation: Downplayed, but his named weapon is a club rather than a katana, and in Birthright, he has a boss-only weapon that is an Axe/Club, indicating his preference for Axes/Clubs. That being said, the Master of Arms class is more proficient with swords (A Rank Max) than axes (B Rank Max)
  • Heroic Build: Fuga is ripped and his constant shirtlessness will remind you of this fact.
  • Heterosexual Life-Partners: Fuga considers King Sumeragi his best friend, fondly recalling all the adventures they had together.
  • Intergenerational Friendship: Should they reach A support, he and Corrin. Fuga even reminisces their friendship reminds him of a younger Sumeragi.
  • Last Guy Wins: He is the last guy to join the party in Revelation (and the last character to be made playable overall), meaning he has a claim to this status if he romances the female Corrin.
  • Love Confession:
You are a remarkable human being. Let us be joined forever.
  • Love Triangle: Was involved in one of these in his past. The other two persons in it would become Hayato's parents, and then they were murdered by Faceless. Fuga took their orphaned child in and raised him as his own son.
  • Meaningful Name: Fuga's name may come from the Japanese Fūga (風牙), meaning "wind fang".
  • Mentor Archetype: Towards Hayato, and bit towards Corrin, pushing them forward on their path of peace in Revelation.
  • Mistaken for Murderer:
    • In Revelation, Fuga is very angry at Corrin and Co. since he believes they killed some of his clansmen.
    • A similar situation happens in Birthright, although Fuga is more reasonable about it there.
  • Multi-Melee Master: As a Master of Arms, he can use swords, axes, lances, and the equivalents thereof. (Ex. Clubs, naginata, etc.)
  • Mutually Exclusive Party Members: He cannot be in the party alongside Yukimura (exclusive to Birthright), Izana (exclusive to Birthright and Conquest), or Scarlet (who dies in both Conquest and Revelation - the latter after a brief time in your party that ends before Fuga becomes recruitable.)
  • Old Soldier: Deconstructed in that Fuga has devoted so much of his life to fighting that he questions if he spent his life well, wishing he had enjoyed life and started a family like Sumeragi. He wonders if he's so old he should retire, but Corrin encourages him his wisdom is needed for their cause to be successful.
  • Parental Substitute: To Hayato. Near the end of their supports he also shows some fatherly qualities towards Corrin.
  • Pre-Mortem One-Liner:
    "We end this now!"
    "You are not worthy!"
    "Prepare for oblivion..."
    "Any regrets?"
  • Right Makes Might: Fuga's philosophy is that innocence can be proven through one's conviction in battle. Basically, a sure way of knowing one has good intentions is beating Fuga in a fight.
  • Secret Character: In Revelation, he can recruited by leveling up the Hot Spring to level 3.
  • Walking Shirtless Scene: As shown in his sprite. Also doubles as a Custom Uniform of sorts, as the regular Master of Arms uniform has a top.
  • Worthy Opponent: To get through the chapters that involve Fuga's appearances, the group must rise up to his challenges and then win the fights and tests he subjects them to. Once this is done, he regards Corrin and Co. as this trope and lets them pass through the lands of the Wind Tribe... and in Revelation, he even joins the group itself.

    Anna

Anna

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/anna_fates_portrait.png

Anna returns as a DLC character, and joins the party upon being saved from bandits after clearing her DLC map.

Class: Outlaw
Voiced by: Saori Seto (Japanese), Karen Strassman (English)

  • Badass Adorable: Just like Awakening's Anna, she's a cute young woman whose Money Fetish makes her even more quirky and endearing. Her design is a bit cuter than her Awakening counterparts, with larger eyes and a slightly more practical outfit.
  • Badass in Distress: At the start of her DLC chapter, she's cornered by Lloyd, Llewelyn, and a crowd of their identical brothers, and Corrin and their crew have to save her.
  • Battle Couple: She can be this with Male Corrin if they S-Support.
  • Born Lucky: Similar to how she was in Awakening, her best stat is her Luck, with a whopping 70% growth rate. Her personal weapon even gives a luck bonus.
  • Bow and Sword in Accord: If one decides to promote her to a Bow Knight, she'll gain Swords to go along with her Bows.
  • Combat Medic: Anna can become one if she promotes to an Adventurer, which lets her use Staves in addition to Bows.
  • Downloadable Content: She's part of Fates' second season of DLC.
  • Extra Digits: Bizarrely, this incarnation of her has six fingers on her right hand.
  • Fourth-Wall Observer: In her "A Gift from Anna" DLC, she directly addresses the player and even advertises purchasing more DLC content.
  • Horse Archer: Can promote into Bow Knight, allowing her to use her bows on horseback.
  • Hypocritical Humor: When confronted by Lloyd and Llewelyn's bevy of identical brothers, she notes how unsettling it is that they all look alike, then admits that she has no room to talk.
  • Love Confession:
Being with you makes me feel like nice things will keep happening. Is it OK that I still love money a little more than you?
  • Money Fetish: Just like the Awakening incarnation, Anna obsesses over money. It even ties into her Personal Skill, "Make a Killing", which gives her a chance of getting some gold from enemies she defeats based on her Luck stat (which is rather high, letting it activate often).
  • Mythology Gag: Her DLC recruitment chapter takes place on the same map as her recruitment chapter in Awakening, with the same music to boot.
  • Optional Party Member: Just like in Awakening, except one has to buy and download her level in order to unlock her.
  • Power Creep, Power Seep: While she was rather strong in her Awakening incarnation, in Fates she initially doesn't have a lot of ways to defend herself at close range due to using bows. Additionally, she is more susceptible to physical pain due to her mediocre Defense growth and the inherently low Defense stat of her Outlaw class.
  • Pre-Mortem One-Liner:
    "Right to refuse service!"
    "Business is booming!"
    "Chaaa-ching!"
    "Slashing more than prices!"
  • Pungeon Master: She makes a lot of money puns, often peppering her comments with salesman vocabulary.
  • Series Mascot: Anna serves as the mascot of the Fire Emblem franchise as a whole, this time having full rein over the Dragon's Gate and all DLC content.
  • Squishy Wizard: Her defensive stats aren't that good, but she has a surprisingly great Magic stat. Shining Bows are great weapons for her because of this, since they let her deal magical damage without the need to change to a class that can't use bows.
  • Supreme Chef: Her cooking in the mess hall shares the same top-tier modifier (Exquisite) as Jakob, Peri and Percy's.
