Voice Actor Roles that Surprised You!

When watching some show, you may hear a familiar voice. Then you realized who that voice belongs to and what character uses that voice.

Hearing the intro of "Where on Earth is Carmen Sandiego," I just now realized that the voice of "Da Chief" is also the voice of Squidward Tentacles.

And for some reason, Candi Milo's roles surprised me the most.

Which ones surprised you?

I was going over a video of the dub voices for My Hero Academia and the ones that shocked me the most were Caitlin Glass as Mina Ashido, Jerry Jewell as Principal Nezu (well, not so much shocking as utterly hilarious because it means he went from a cat to a rat) and Eric Vale as Tomura Shigaraki (whom I once called "Crazy Hands"). Was also surprised to learn of Justin Cook as Kirishima, but I think my best friend was more shocked at that one because I phrased it as Kirishima being voiced by Hatsuharu (and I quote, "MY BAE IS VOICED BY MY BAE!?!?!?")

Not particularly ironic, but while playing LEGO DC Super-Villains, I noticed Catwoman's voice sounded really familiar. A few more minutes in, and I realize it's Grey Delisle, in a voice that's quite similar to the one she used for Azula!

She also played Shaak Ti, Asajj Ventress and Padme Amidala in the 2003 Clone Wars series.

On more related notes (to both Avatar and Star Wars), the guy who plays the Clone Troopers in the 2003 Clone Wars series is Andre Sogliuzzo, the same dude who played both Hakoda and King Bumi from Avatar: The Last Airbender.

Two: Shoreh Aghdashloo as Lakshmi-2 in Destiny 2 (I realized it after seeing her as Avasarala in The Expanse) and Alex Mallari as Nomad in Ghost Recon Breakpoint.

Surprised that Leon's voice actor also played a fridge.

I needed that laugh. Thank you.

The girl who played Lilo in Lilo and Stitch also played Samara in The Ring. She also plays Chihiro in the Spirited Away dub I think.

Marvel's Spider-Man and Persona 5. Max Mittelman voices Harry Osborn and Ryuji Sakamoto while Robbie Daymond voices Peter Parker and 'effin' Goro Akechi.

I was surprised when I found out that Fujio Akatsuka (yes, THAT Fujio Akatsuka!) voices the President in The Mystery of Mamo.

Recently found out Tamaki Amajiki is voiced in English by none other than Aaron Dismuke. Mind = blown.

Surprised that Lucas Neff, the guy who played main character Jimmy Chance on Raising Hope voices Noodle Burger Boy on Big Hero 6: The Series. It doesn't even sound like him imo!

Riki's English voice actor (Wayne Forester) is also the voice of Horrid Henry's dad.

A couple of Xenoblade voice actors also had roles in the Dark Souls series.

Phil Lamarr has some excellent range. Case in point: he did both voices for Bolbi here.

Charles Martinet was the evil Marshal in Magic Pengel for PS 2.

A dub-related one: I found out a while back that in both Japan and Latin America Gumball Watterson shares his voice with Naruto Uzumaki!

Speaking of Charles Marinet, I was surprised to learn that he voiced Paathurnax from the The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim!

This may be obvious to a lot of people, but just a few minutes ago, I found out that Miranda Cosgrove AKA iCarly voiced Margo, the girl with glasses from Despicable Me.

I associate Jim Cummings primarily with Disney and family-friendly animation, so it was a bit weird hearing him swear as the mask in Splatterhouse. He does a good menacing bad-guy voice, but I didn't expect to hear him in such a gory game.

Manuela from Fire Emblem: Three Houses is voiced by none other than Veronica “Ash Ketchum” Taylor! Who knew?

I could tell it from the start. I was surprised at first and had to look it up. I wonder if she'll be in other Nintendo related media in the future.

Clato...Verada...THREAD NECROMANCY! Spooky. Anyways, this is a minor one, but I always thought that the Silver Shell, Sheldons alter-ego from My Life as a Teenage Robot was played by a different voice actor Cast as a Mask, but I found out today that it was just Quinton Flynn doing a completely different voice! That guy has amazing range and tbh is better looking than I expected the voice of Sheldon to be.

So apparently, N.Brio in Crash 4 is voiced by Roger Craig Smith.

That's quite a surprise, I didn't know he had such range! But now, I also can't get the image out of my head of N.Brio drinking a potion and transforming into Sonic.
