A Game of Gods Season 3: Renaissance

The Malone Report of 21600 confirmed the suspicions of many.

For all of known history, there have been legends of heroes and villains, men and monsters who came to this world from others. At first people theorized they were legends of beings beyond the stars, but as civilisation expanded across the final frontier, we learned we were alone in the universe.

As more incursions came to light, we realized that although we were alone in the universe, our universe wasn’t alone.

We were a playground of the gods, those with enough power to travel across the void, to punch holes in the fabric of reality. No hole was the same, though: some were ragged wounds, left carelessly open. Others were dainty incisions, sealed as soon as their creator’s business was done.

Over time, we learned to peer through these holes. Although we could not travel, we could observe. We learned much, copied some. Some worlds were primitive, some advanced, some filled with awesome technology, some powered by magic, and some a mix of all four.

Then one day, a universe turned black. Here one minute, gone the other. No threat to the universe was observed, no reason for it to suddenly stop existing. As we watch, more and more universes died.

The first, and most prevalent theory, was entropy. From what was observed, a universe’s energy did bleed through open holes in it’s fabric. Some of the disappearances conformed to all the hallmarks of a universe that simply ran out of easily accessible energy.

But some did not.

The Malone Report was a product of nearly a decade’s research. It took into account all recorded cases of a universe disappearing of our collective radar, cross-referenced all the data, and came to a conclusion.

Holes in the fabric of reality didn’t only threaten a universe with entropy. It threatened them with instability. Enough instability that a universe could simply cease to exist at any moment.

There was panic. Riots. Revolution.

But with a threat so huge, it would have been irresponsible for the Malone Report to not provide a solution.

Under seemingly random conditions, a hole could self-seal. Although it was rare, a universe could have the punctures in it’s reality sealed, and become stable once more. If a way could be found to seal the wounds, our universe would be saved.

On the 19th of October, 21606, we found our solution.

Through one of our observation posts, we spotted a figure entering another universe. Whatever means she used sealed the hole behind her. That began the years of research on this figure.

Her name is Rook. She’s a woman, or the female of whatever species she is. According to legend, a being of enormous power stole her away from her own world, and set her a series of challenges. She overcome everything thrown her way, and at the end of it all, she refused the reward offered. Over the course of her trials, she had grown to love the lonely god, and the god her.

The god gave her technology out of the enormous cache they had accumulated, and let her wander the multiverse. And although it is supposed to be impossible to find the home of the god, Rook would always know the way.

This woman has the power to seal the holes in our reality. But we’re on a race against time. Our universe grows more unstable by the day. Through observation of Rook, we’ve developed a way of temporarily reopening the holes she makes as she passes. But it can only be done once. Any team we sent would be on a suicide mission, never to return home.

Because even if they found Rook, even if she sealed the holes for us from the other side, our universe has grown so unstable that we can only afford one more hole, however temporary, before the next one destroys us completely.

But there are more universes out there. Through our observation, we have discovered people of great powers and abilities. Although their universes are unstable, they’re more stable than ours. If we can open Rook’s holes to those universes at the right times, we can gather a team. A team to hunt Rook down.

The problem is, once we’ve reopened those holes, we can’t do it a second time. They have to find Rook or never return home.

We here at the Center for Universal Survival took a vote. Unanimously, we decided this plan was completely unethical.

Unanimously, we decided there was no other way.

Hello, and welcome to A Game of Gods: Renaissance, a third-generation AGOG game. Despite my long-winded spiel up there, the premise is simple: a dying civilization has dragged your characters together to hunt down a woman named Rook, who holds the key to saving their universe.

The catch? Our heroes (or villains, or neutrals) have been chosen because their universes are unstable too. And if their universes collapse, they too will cease to exist.

But what does “unstable” really mean? What it means is that the universe is changed, liable to outside forces. Effectively, a “stable” universe is a canon universe.

And thus, to be played in this game, any character must be an Alternate Universe version of a canon character.

What counts as an alternate universe version of a character? Any change to the canon. Perhaps they were born the opposite gender, and this affected how society viewed them. Perhaps their lineage was different, and thus they were born with different abilities. Perhaps the entirety of their society has changed.

Or maybe, just maybe, the big change is that they’ve been a part of the game of gods before.

What we want from our players is creativity. Think long and hard about the change you’re making to the character. How does it affect their story? Do they even go on the journey they do in canon? Does the change affect their status in society? Would different treatment as a result of this change affect their personality? Would the change hamper or help the development of their abilities?

Please also remember that if you giveth, you should also taketh away. A Spider-Man who kept the power-enhancing black suit would have major changes to his personality, and infact may be more monstrous than the one we know and love.

We’re asking you to take the dominoes canon sets up, and knock them down in a new and strange way. Maybe even keep them standing.

With the help of a Handler feeding information into their ears, and a mobile base of operations/portal generator, our Alternates will track down Rook and save their own lives, as well as those of billions of innocent people.

And if that’s not enough motivation, legend has it that Rook knows the way to a cache of godlike technology. Technology that their Handler is all too willing to give as payment.

Despite this being a sequel to two previous sets of games, you don’t have to be an AGOG Veteran to join in on the fun, and inexperienced players are completely welcome. The plot connection between this game and previous games is extremely loose.

So, your mission, if you choose to accept it…

Rules:

Signup Rules:

Characters must be A Us of canon characters. These A Us may be created by you, inspired by other people’s takes on the character, be a “canon” AU (for example, House of M, Marvel 1602, Flashpoint, or that one universe where everyone is evil and Spock has a goatee), or simply be a character who has been in an AGOG game before and remembers the experience.

One character per player. Any more than that will be taken on case-by-case basis, but if we believe that you’re able to handle it, we’ll allow it. Try and stick with two maximum to start with, though, even if we believe you could handle three or four.

Duos are allowed, but we’ll taking it on a case-by-case basis. In the past, “duo” has meant characters such as Jak and Daxter, where only one is combat-effective and the other just serves as someone to bounce off of, personality-wise. If you feel like your character’s personality works best when they have their constant partner around, but both are combat-capable (for example, Grif and Simmons from Red Vs Blue work best as a double act), send the pair at us and we’ll discuss it.

We’d also like to keep powerlevels at a reasonable standard, but anything can be nerfed. Even if you think your character is too powerful, send them our way and we’ll discuss it. Rule of thumb, though: if your character can cause or fix natural disasters single-handedly in a short length of time, expect some nerfs.

Gameplay Rules:

No real specific rules, but keep to general R Ping etiquette. No ghosting (simply ignoring any attacks sent your character’s way); no autohitting (whether your character’s attack lands is up to the other player, not you); no taking control of other people’s characters, etc. Of course, this being etiquette and not laws, you can make breaches if they’re discussed with the other player beforehand.

The only real rule is that GM rulings are final, and must be obeyed, though if you have objections these rulings can be politely discussed.

And of course, please obey all Forum Rules, especially those relating specifically to the RP Forums.
Once you’re done here, head on over to the Discussion Thread (Don’t try and read it all, we prefer our players alive) and the actual game thread.

Your G Ms (Makaioh, Meanken, wikkit and Katarsus) hope you enjoy your time playing in A Game of Gods: Renaissance.

  • Name: Rachel
  • Age: Teens
  • Appearance: One version.
  • Universe: Animorphs
  • Personality: Rachel is bold and confident, always the first into the fray and the last to leave. However, she is often reckless and rarely sees the bigger picture, to her detriment. She is also something of a shopping addict and fashionista, a trait that has declined over the years. Her personality has jokingly drawn comparisons to the elven swordmaidens of Middle-Earth and Xena Warrior Princess, but she secretly worries that the Blood Knight side of her will take over, or that she ends up serving to shield what remains of her teammates' innocence. She was once tempted by a near-omnipotent force of evil with the power to singlehandedly turn back the Yeerk invasion and humiliate their greatest enemy, but turned it down as the price was betraying her friends.
  • Backstory: Following the subtle manipulations of the being known as the Ellimist, Rachel was part of a group of teenagers who encountered a dying alien named Elfangor, who warned them of the invading Puppeteer Parasite aliens known as the Yeerks and gave them the power to fight back against them by turning into the many, many deadly animals of Earth. Over several years they waged secret battles against the Yeerks, until the Yeerks no longer needed to exercise secrecy. Rachel went on a last ditch effort to take out a Yeerk splinter faction, but was killed just after killing their leader inhabiting her cousin's body. She was taken out of time for a few seconds by the Ellimist, long enough to understand his story and see that their struggle was not in vain, and accepted her death. And then some transdimensional entertainment executives choose that moment to drag her into their new show, before [Pandemonium ending].
  • Powers/Abilities/Equipment:
    • Animorphism: Thanks to alien technology, Rachel is able to acquire the DNA of animal she is in physical contact with (usually hands). Acquiring can only be done while in human form.
      • The acquiring process puts the animal into a slight daze, long enough to get away from naturally aggressive species.
      • When in morph, the animal's instincts are also present, and in some cases capable of overpowering the mind. Morphing does not transfer memories.
      • The morphing process heals all injuries sustained in either form. However, morphing repeatedly in quick succession is very tiring, and tiredness from battle or sustained effort only adds to it.
      • When in morph, Rachel can communicate via <thought-speak>, a form of telepathy that can send thoughts to other people on a collective or selective basis, described as being much like e-mail.
      • Morphing to another form can only be done by returning to human between both, a tiring process. Direct transition between two morphs or combining two morphs is a symptom of serious affliction and is uncontrollable (though some morph dancers can pull it off deliberately, Rachel is not one).
      • Remaining more than two Earth hours in a single morph causes Mode Lock in that morph (nothlit), retaining thought-speak and any injuries.
      • Morphing is a painless process, but not pretty to look at (especially when morphing insects), as limbs are absorbed, reconfigured or melded together.
      • Loose clothing does not follow the morpher, either falling around them or shredding apart. Clothes such as sportswear stays with the morpher's body.
      • Some animals are allergenic (in Rachel's case, the crocodile), which causes uncontrolled partial morphing in stressful situations. The only known way to remove the allergen (known as hereth illint, "burping DNA") forcibly ejects a copy of the animal.
      • If morphed in a creature that can regenerate (in Rachel's case, a starfish), the two halves may end up with different aspects of the original's personality. The effect can be reversed by both halves morphing into each other if large amounts of energy are supplied (such as electricity).
    • Morphs from the books (the TV series is an abomination):
    • Land mammals (and a bat)
      • African elephant
      • Grizzly bear
      • Anteater
      • Polar bear
      • Wolf
      • Housecat

      • Mole
      • Horse
      • Seal
      • Chimpanzee
      • Cheetah
      • Beaver
      • Squirrel
      • Skunk
      • Bat
    • Aquatic life
      • Dolphin
      • Hammerhead shark
      • Sperm whale
      • Killer whale
      • Giant Squid
      • Trout
      • Eel
      • Starfish
      • Crocodile (only if reacquired, causes allergic reaction until removed)
    • Birds
      • Bald Eagle
      • Seagull
      • Great Horned Owl
      • Parrot
      • Cockatiel
    • Bugs
      • Fly
      • Mosquito
      • Cockroach
      • Ant
      • Termite
      • Flea
      • Bee
      • Dragonfly
    • Other
      • Hork-Bajir
      • Deinonychus (only if on prehistoric Earth)
    • Good fashion sense
    • Good at gymnastics
    • Can usually lie with a straight face
  • Differences From Canon: Dragged into the Pandemonium show at her death, and was in the middle of turning down a disturbing corporate drone who wanted her psychological profile for sinister purposes.

  • Name: Amuro Ray/ RX-93-v-2 Hi Nu Gundam
  • Age: 29-30
  • Appearance: appearance
  • Universe: Mobile Suit Gundam, Char's Counter attack.
  • Personality: As Amuro Ray circa Char's Counterattack, he's a wizened and battle hardened veteran, able to stay calm regardless of the tense situations he finds himself in. At the same time despite an exterior that may come off as quiet and anti-social, he does care deeply for other people and seeks to protect the innocent where possible. Regardless of this he has no compunctions about going for killing blows in battle, as many past hardships have taught him the dangers of allowing emotions to cloud your judgement when everything is going to hell around you.
  • Backstory: Amuro Ray is a veteran of the One Year War where he fell into the cockpit of the original gundam, a war machine designed by his own father which he would then proceed to use to fight against zeon in battles ranging across the globe, earning a personal rivalry with a man known as the red comet. Through these battles Amuro would grow from a scared teenager into a true man, and someone anyone would consider lucky to have on their side. After the one year war, Amuro would continue to fight after a brief retirement, fighting against the corrupt forces of the Earth Federation's Titans faction in the Gryps conflict while function as the key ace of the Karaba resistance, fighting against Neo-Zeon in the first Neo-zeon war, and then eventually settling his rivalry with the red comet during the second Neo-Zeon war in a battle that determined the fate of the world. Also has a wife and as of yet unborn child.
  • Powers/Abilities/Equipment:
    • Newtype/telepathy: some psychic abilites like telepathy and enhanced reflexes, but given his new metal body the ability has weakened and isn't as strong as it used to be.
    • Boosters: boosters built across his body, they allow him to fly, or hover across the ground.
    • Equipment:
      • Gatling Gun: comparable to an SMG, mounted in right forearm.
      • Head Vulcans: also SMG caliber weapons, two mounted in the head.
      • Beam Sabers: mounts 3 of them, two are stored in his wings (which can go darth maul and generate beams from both ends) and one in his left forearm (which is like a standard light saber).
      • Beam Rifle: Comparable to a blaster from star wars.
      • Fin Funnels: attack drones though weaker than his beam rifle, he mounts 6 of them, which them being the 'feathers' on his wings. They can also be used to generate a beam shield to protect him and allies.
      • Shield: it's basically just a shield, though it mounts a beam cannon on it, the fire power is less than that of the beam rifle.
  • Differences From Canon: This Amuro Ray survived the Axis shock, just not in a way anyone expected. The axis shock event, rather than destroying the Hi Nu Gundam and killing Amuro, instead destroyed Amuro's physical body but implanted his soul within the psycoframe system of the Hi Nu gundam, effectively blending man and machine into one, though he's been shrunk down to person size because of the reality warping effects of the event. Despite that one piece of good news, this Amuro is far grumpier as he's lost his sense of smell, taste, and touch due to being trapped within a mechanical body. He's not willing to sacrifice his morals to get a new human body, but there are days where he wonders if the offer might tempt him into damnation. Not to mention there is the ever looming idea at the back of Amuro's mind that his rival may have survived as well, and may still be out there plotting a return.

My response to this sign-up in current form: Hi, no.

  • The entire size-changing aspect is right out. The majority of this game takes place in a camper van that's bigger on the inside, but as it is Amuro-Nu Gundam dwarfs that. It simply wouldn't work size wise, especially when even the most basic of mobile suits would overpower pretty much any challenge through sheer durability. I think it would be reasonable if he could turn into a person-sized gundam, buuut...
  • With the size-changing, the power increase is also much more than is the standard. The SD form's powers and equipment sound reasonable, mostly.
  • You can have a lightsaber, we've had those before, but it can't just cut through things like air like it does in the showNote . Think "very sharp sword" instead of "Qui-Gon cutting through feet of bulkhead".
  • I think that the funnels can work as long as they're just a smidge weaker shot-wise compared to his normal beam rifle.
  • "Sensing hostility directed towards him" is probably going to have to be fallible and won't apply in every situation, if only because it's difficult to keep track of every single time it could be applied.

Can you survive changing your sheet?

sure no issues at all. Truth be told I wasn't fully aware of the scale, so i'm happy to ditch the size shaping mechanic and just switch to a person sized gundam. and all your suggestions are acceptable, i had intended for the funnels to have weaker power output than the rifle.

edit: anyway I made the changes, specified that the funnels have weaker beam weapons than the beam rifle, ditched the size changing, and made a note of how amuro's psychic abilities have been weakened over time due to his new metal body not exactly being good for his mind. Anything else?

  • Name: Ibuki
  • Age: Just Made (Artificial Construct)
  • Appearance: Ibuki on her own, Ibuki in full combat rigging though this version's horns are mechanical in a style like Ayanami's, and she has a small tail to match her horns. Edit: Riged up some pixel art of the change
  • Universe: Azur Lane
  • Personality: Shy and nervous around people, Ibuki is one that prefers to keep to her hobbies and studies rather then being any kind of social butterfly. Such hobbies which include fencing, composing poetry, meditation(though I don't know if you can really call this one a hobby), and of indulgence into otaku culture as well (Though she is much less likely to admit this then Ayanami)
  • Backstory: Ibuki is a prototype ship girl created from advanced research into the Sirens, although she was originally a Light Carrier she was refitted into a Heavy Cruiser during production which has caused the side effect of her being very uncomfortable with her rigging. Honestly there isn't too much I can put down here, Ibuki was never born, and thus doesn't have a history to be proud of. Her completion at the hands of Azure Lane had just concluded before she was taken from her home.
  • Powers/Abilities/Equipment:
    • Inbuilt: Ibuki being a ship-girl is one hell of a simmer, she takes to water almost as naturally as a fish does, and being artificial in nature she can be repaired and is rather durable, although both of these come at the cost of being unable to heal any thing but the most minor of injuries naturally.
    • External: Ibuki has an "Ibuki class heavy cruiser" rigging consisting of 10 main guns, 16 torpedo tubes, 2 scout drones, and a turbine capable of boosting her already capable swimming to 29 knots. While impressive in number her weapons are obviously scaled down to match her more human size, and the torpedoes will have functionality problems on land without modifications.... which Ibuki is unable to do herself. This is compounded by the fact that while her rigging can support itself with its turbine, it is unable to provide any additional mobility capabilities on the ground and is quite heavy and bulky greatly reducing her agility on land and turning her more into a weapons support platform then the gracefully dancer she is in the water.
  • Differences From Canon:
    • Cannon AL is based off a AU of WWII. In this version however, after the battle of the Denmark Straight, Bismark managed to evade being chased down by the Royal Navy due to her much smaller size making the task more equivalent to finding a needle in a hay stack. Emboldened by this, and the influx of Siren Tech, Metalblood proceeds to turn on The Sakura Empire no longer finding them worthwhile allies. Without its ally in Europe, the anti-war faction manages to win out in the Sakura Empire, too hampered by lack of aide and restrictions for desires of eastward expansion to go anywhere. Instead upset about the betrayal they attempt to return to there historical allies in the Royal Navy.
    • Although tensions remain high, they become one of the founding members of the Azur Lane division in an attempt to prove there loyalty to there new allies. As a knock on effect of this, rather then being created based on Sakura Empire designs by Azur Lane, she was created with first hand experience of the Sakura Empire themselves. This allowed for even stronger integration of Siren Tech due to the Sakura Empire embracing it, and is responsible for her more mechanical features.

While Ibuki is pretty hampered on her own due to the fact that I assume most of this RP is not exactly near water, I am more then willing to work with any nerfs as needed, since I realize her full load is a lot of guns (even when scaled for human sizes)

Accepted. Though do be aware that the times we go near water won't be all that often and on land she'd probably have to be quite a bit slower than if she was aquatic.

[up] That was already intended actually, so no worries at all. smile

On land in full rigging, her max speed is quite slow, even for a normal person, that stuff is heavy.

Thanksies though.

I am not familiar with AGOG at all, but am willing to give it a go, and am new-ish to RP'ing. My last experiences at it were pretty much a Dork Age, but I can try again.

Anyway, my application:

Name: Nicole Spencer

Age: 34-35 (in canon, her real age was never stated on Person of Interest)

Appearance: Links are fine. [1]

Universe: The work of media they come from. Person of Interest

Personality: Nicole is a Nice Girl, but gets mistaken for a Defrosting Ice Queen as she hates guys hitting on her needlessly. She also has a habit of walking around in athleisure crop tops and leggings for the sheer hell of it, even in cold weather.

'''Backstory: You don’t need to go into extraneous details and tell us everything in a seventeen page story, just the essential backstory of your character. Help us get to know him/her/them/it.'''

Nicole was born in New Jersey, United States to a Canadian-American mother and a Scottish-American father.

At the age of 7, she had taught herself to read, by reading newspapers, and automobile magazines.

As a child, she had always been fascinated by cars, and motorbikes, and would read magazines like Motor Trend over comic books.

She always had a passion for automobiles, and drove a beater 1989 Honda Accord for a while, all the while saving up for a high-end luxo sedan.

Currently she drives a 2010 Mercury Mountaineer 4.6 V8 Premium AWD, police-spec/special-order model, and she absolutely loves it, due to the limited amount produced for 2010.

Nicole writes a blog on automotive news as "Auto News from Nikki" but she's not in it for the likes; she's in it for the writes.

She has a day job as a freelance journalist and as a fixer (not The Fixer in the criminal sense, but journalistic fixer).

Powers/Abilities/Equipment: Any racial traits beyond normal human should go here too. If you feel they’re too powerful for the game as-is, feel free to tell us here what you’re taking away. Also include any moral compunctions against killing or anything else that would limit the effectiveness of the characters’ abilities, such as cowardice or instability.'''

Nicole has a good working knowledge of automobiles and has defensive driving tactics, plus she also has skills learnt on working in sensitive environments for journalism.

Nicole is hesitant about stealing a car due to being a journalist, unless she's undercover (Kayfabe, at a guess?)

She also has a strong moral code and will not hurt or kill people, considers violence immoral, having seen kids beating a guinea pig/cavy in her highschool when she was 13 years old.

Nicole has a tendency to eat a lot, but somehow remains slim.

Any nerfs added by the G Ms prior to acceptance should be edited into here too.

Differences From Canon: Now, you’ve probably detailed the differences in Personality, Backstory, and Powers/Abilities/Equipment, but for those who don’t know how your character is like in canon, we’d appreciate it if you detailed exactly what’s different in this version of the character. Canon Characters are allowed with GM permission''' Unlike her Person of Interest character who was a One-Shot Character, she is not a Jerkass, and is a Nice Girl, Girly Girl, with an interest in automobiles, and something of a Big Eater who manages to remain slim somehow.

She also is something of a tech geek, with good knowledge of blogging and website design. She is also good on Mac OS X and sudo'ing commands, and has helped her friends with computers.

The original Canon character was a Flat Character anyway, so I've re-interpreted the character.

This takes into Alternate Continuity and Alternate Self territory.

Alright, so the fact of the matter is, this character is too minor. We don't mind reimagining a character, but according to information we GM's have gotten from multiple sources, this character is so minor as to have 0 personality whatsoever. That's too minor for our purposes. The way this is now, you're basically using an OC with a one note canon characters name. Thus, we cannot accept this signup.

No worries. Fair enough. I guess I took the signup too literally.

Would a re-imagined version of Ben Tennyson with the Omnitrix and Heatblast, Four Arms, Grey Matter, Shocksquatch, Jury Rigg, Alien X, Atomix, Atomic-X and Arctiguana work (I've changed Alien X and Jury Rigg from their canon versions) if I resubmitted?

There's enough alternate versions of Ben, so might that be OK?

That sounds acceptable enough, yes. Make a new signup for Ben and I'll review it later.

[up] Thank you. My original character was too obscure; I used her from my old Person of Interest/Mr. Robot fanfic.

Anyway, here's the new signup for Ben Tennyson.

Name: Ben Tennyson

Age: 21-25 (since this is about a multiverse, shall we apply Comic-Book Time to him?)

'Appearance: On WesternAnimation.Ben 10.Characters.Main Characters under Ben Tennyson, the original version.

Personality: Ben is a Nice Guy, a little bit cautious about using the Omnitrix, and wants to help. He's also something of a Big Eater with a trademark favorite food of salt-and-vinegar chips and vanilla Coke.

Backstory Ben got the Omnitrix aged 11, when camping in the woods near Horwich, Greater Manchester, after it permanently affixed itself to his wrist. He was on summer vacation with his Grandma Jax and sister Jennifer. (This almost follows The Stations of the Canon of the original Ben but with change in location and backstory).

Jennifer is different to Gwen, being like Elena Validus in looks, and in personality, she's like Kepner from Grey's Anatomy (taking this a bit Darker and Edgier).

Ben was born in the town of Ince-in-Makerfield, near Wigan, and has a strong Wigan accent.

This Ben is from an alternate universe and has never met Ben Prime unlike Ben 23, No Watch Ben, Ben 10,000 and Gwen 10.

Powers/Abilities/Equipment: As detailed, Ben has the Omnitrix, which contains these aliens:

  • Heatblast - power to use fire, fireproof, also iceproof
  • Grey Matter - high intelligence
  • Four Arms - super strength
  • Diamondhead
  • Jury Rigg - unknown goblin species, has ability to fix and build things.
  • Shocksquatch - electrical powers
  • Alien X - Celestialsapien with power to create universes and other powers too. Omnipotent, but different from canon version
  • Atomix - a robot species of unknown origin, and powered by nuclear power.
  • Atomic-X - fusion of Alien X and Atomix
  • XLR 8 - The speedster of the alien group.
  • Cannonbolt - has ability to spin.
  • Owl-like alien of unknown species (Hootacus possibly?) - has Roman warrior-like build and is Wicked Cultured, also speaks with hoot as Verbal Tic, speaks in Southern accent like West Virginia or Kentucky.
  • Fusion aliens detailed below

The Omnitrix can also add species' DNA to its database via physical contact Ben makes with someone in human form.

Differences From Canon: This Ben Tennyson is English, a Nice Guy, and born in Ince-in-Makerfield, Wigan. In his universe, Grandpa Max never existed, instead it was Grandma Jax (Jacqueline), and Ben is 1/2 American 1/2 Canadian 1/2 English.

Also, the Omnitrix can pick up others' DNA (but modifies their forms as such) and has the best version of them from their DNA.

Alien X is not a Story-Breaker Power, Ben has to be very judicious how he uses him; also, no Serena and Bellicus. He's a bit of The Klutz at times and can accidentally have Power Incontentinence. Also, this Alien X can speak and is not The Voice Of The Legion. Alien X is powerful, but needs to be restrained from overdoing it.

Alien X could be nerfed easily enough, even if he is omnipotent, since he's very new to using omnipotence and creating things in this continuity.

Shocksquatch speaks in a Vancouver accent.

Ben's Omnitrix only has 15 aliens he actively uses so far, 18 if you include some fusion aliens.

There are fusion aliens who are:

- Fusion of Alien-X and Jury Rigg (Jury Rigg's head, Alien X's body), with combination of both

- Grey Matter / Four Arms combo

- Atomic-X (Atomix and Alien X), but different to canon version and not a Story-Breaker Power; hard for Ben to use and only used in extreme circumstances.

- Fusion of Shocksquatch and Jury Rigg, with Shocksquatch's body, Jury Rigg's red color and a mixture of both of their personalities, and a compulsive desire to fix.

Atomix isn't a Story-Breaker Power either, as he's strong, but not that strong (in robot years, equivalent to a 19-year-old human).

As such, since Ben 10 was listed as Fanfic Fuel, I went along with it.

I hope this is acceptable with you, especially about the differences from canon.

One other question regarding this, with regard to the Omnitrix:

Due to its abilities, hw could this be useful for shapeshifting purposes (using another player's form, but in a much-modified, best-of-their-species form) without causing conflict in the RP? Maybe as a distraction technique or such?

If I had permission from darksidevoid, maybe Ben taking on a form of Ammy for her abilities and to use as a clone of Ammy in the RP so she can be in two places at once? (and any other character with the user's permission). Same for Carmilla & Sylpha that Game Guru GG posted, but what would their version from the Omnitrix look like (if Game Guru GG approves of this).

I want to make sure this is kosher with everyone.

In short, it's not kosher at all. It's treif, even.

  • You've included no image links for anything which is just a bit lazy.
  • Your sheet basically requires prior knowledge of a TV series made for children in the mid-to-late 2000s that not all of us have. Just saying "its close to the show" doesn't describe it nearly enough for us.
  • According to this sheet, Ben is somehow one-and-a-half people.
  • The entirety of your powers section isn't just lacking in detail, it's featureless. We expect specific definitions for what powers do, so one word phrases won't work. Especially Diamondhead. What's his power, the ability to exude molten carbon from his scalp?
  • Alien X is a story breaker power. End of discussion.
  • I'm not going into any other broken powers, because they're so ill-defined that I have nothing to work with.
  • While it's nice that you're asking permission for it, planning interactions before you're even accepted isn't a great idea.

It's our opinion that this sheet isn't good, and can't be fixed. The other two GMs would like it if you didn't try again, and I agree with them.

Sooooo I kinda messed up and joined like 2 days too soon, if I had just waited.... I would have had one that I would have been much better for working with... my bad.... I would like to switch if possible....

  • Name: Kawakaze
  • Age: Several Months (Again Artificial Construct)
  • Appearance: Soft and fuzy under a steely exterior
  • Universe: Azur Lane
  • Personality: Kawakaze is at first glance cold and kind of rough, believing there is no morals or beauty to be had in war... the task of which she was created for. The reality is though that this is a shell that she uses to protect herself, deep down inside her she longs for the ability to "dream".
  • Backstory: Kawakaze is a B1 class submarine commissioned by the Sakura empire and one of the most advanced destroyers in existence at the time of her creation. Although considered a valuable asset by the Sakura empire, and one of there most highly rated submarines, none of this comes from any one moment of flash, no single victory against all odds, no moment of glory like the "demon of the Solomons". Instead her history is defined by continual competence through the war that has engulfed her home. Participating in many raids against, ferrying important cargo past the sirens.... as a living weapon these has come to define her, more so then any thing else.
  • Powers/Abilities/Equipment:
    • Inbuilt: Kawakaze being a ship-girl is one hell of a swimmer, she takes to water almost as naturally as a fish does, and being artificial in nature she can be repaired though she is unable to heal normaly beyond the most minor of injuries. In addition being a B1 she is also some what mobile even in her combat gear.
    • External: Kawakaze has a modified B1 class submarine combat rigging, consisting of 2 guns. and 6 torpedo tubes, and several swords, and a single recon drone. compared to the previously submitted Ibuki, Kawakaze's guns are barely more effective then a modern rifle, even if they do have the ability for independent targeting... instead for any form of combat she would rely on her torpedo tubes, which are once again going to need modification. What Kawakaze looses in firepower and durability though, she makes up for in agility, with an aquatic speed of 35 knots above the surface, 8 submerged, and even being able to dance even while on land, though here not really at any kind of agility beyond what some one trained could match.
  • Differences From Canon:
    • Cannon AL is based off a AU of WWII. In this version however, the Sakura Empire empire actually managed to use there technologically superior submarines to there full extent, complete with proper submarine tactics... this resulted in more of there limited resources being dedicated to submarine production rather then destroyer production, and the submarines getting proper names rather then just numbers. Kawakaze is one of these destroyers that was instead made as a submarine.
    • Little has changed from canon in regards to Kawakaze, the big difference is mostly the class of ship that she is, though the hard to detect nature of submarines does allow her to survive longer then normal.

While the idea with Ibuki was to go for a bruiser style character with her being a heavy cruiser, Kawakaze is a submarine, and as such relies way more on her explosive ordinance and speed, her guns are effectively worthless and any kind of nerf they may need I am more then willing to work with.

why am i doing this

  • Name: Doopliss

  • Age: ???

  • Appearance: Hey, Slick!

  • Universe: Paper Mario The Thousand Year Door

  • Personality: Doopliss is an unabashed jerk. He revels in causing chaos and loves when bad things happen to other people. He has a very bad sense of humor and is prone to laugh at inappropriate things. He is also a weird goofball who likes some really bizarre animes thanks to extended visits to the site Mushchan. All in all, he’s an internet troll personified. Also has a habit of calling people “Slick”.

  • Backstory: Doopliss’ story begins in Creepy Steeple. He hung out there with all the other spooky ghost people, routinely playing pranks on people in the neighboring Twilight Town. He would frequently use magic to turn the villagers into pigs, finding their plight simply hilarious. Eventually Doopliss discovered a magical place called the internet and learned that you could play mean spirited pranks on people for a massive audience on Mushtube. He quickly became known around the Mushroom Kingdom as an incredible prankster and "real life shitposter" for his exploits, which mostly consisted of him antagonizing random people on the street. One particularly noteworthy example was the time he threw a bucket of fried chicken at Rawk Hawk (a wrestling hawk man) and told him he had just fried his entire family. These pranks started to escalate in intensity and ridiculousness until he eventually almost ended the whole world with his last one. He decided to steal the Crystal Stars from Mario in his sleep and use them to bring back the Shadow Queen, an ancient evil that wanted to engulf the world in darkness and destroy everything. This final and most ludicrous prank video was titled "OPENING THE THOUSAND YEAR DOOR AND RELEASING AN ANCIENT DEMON - GONE SEXUAL". It received 666,666,666 views and nearly broke the internet.

  • Powers/Abilities/Equipment:

    • Shapeshifting: Doopliss is a Duplighost, a species in Mario which has the ability to take on the forms of other people via shapeshifting. In the game this also gives him the inherent abilities and attacks of whoever he has transformed into. Since this doesn’t seem particularly fair in the context of a massive crossover with tons of different characters, I’m going to remove that particular aspect of his powers entirely.

    • He can also choose to transform smaller parts of his body rather than all of it if he wants, IE turning his limbs into weapons or tools as an example. He cannot, however, significantly change his mass/height.

  • Differences From Canon: In canon, Doopliss spends most of his time watching TV and tormenting the townsfolk of Twilight Town. At the end of the game when the big baddy is defeated, he stops being a jerk and decides to use his shapeshifting abilities to become an actor. Here, Doopliss instead spends his free time on the Internet. This has caused him to spend untold hours talking to random jerks, which has exaggerated his negative personality traits and possibly made him a little crazy.

#472: Jun 1st 2018 at 1:31:32 PM

  • Name: Gwendolyn Poole, aka The Unbelievable Gwenpool
  • Age: 18
  • Appearance: PANTS TO BE… not given at all, actually. (Unmasked.)
  • Universe: Natively? Earth-TRN 656. Currently residing in Earth-616 aka the mainstream Marvel Comics universe.
  • Personality: From the outside, Gwen looks entirely insane. She’s ludicrously gung-ho, and seems to base her actions not on any logic, but on a belief that the world runs on storytelling conventions. Despite this, she is adept at planning ahead and strategizing, especially when it comes to abusing said storytelling conventions. While she won’t scream from the heavens that they’re all living in a constructed world written by multiple writers (anymore), she will obviously and visibly fangirl out at people she idolizes. Beyond that, you’ll find a sweet girl who cares deeply about her friends, genuinely wants to be a hero, and is a massive geek. She does have her cynical side, and has struggled with depression, but the world is a colourful, fun place and she’s gonna make the most of it.
  • Backstory: Gwen was born in a world nigh-identical to the one we currently reside in. By the time she was eighteen, she was a high-school dropout, unemployed despite her best efforts, without enough motivation to even finish a fanfic. All she had left was fiction, which she threw herself into, especially her favourite thing: Marvel Comics. After an incident she refuses to talk about, she found herself in said comics, and decided to become a superhero. After a series of events involving being forced into a mercenary group, taking over said mercenary group Klingon-style, the breakup of the mercenary group, her brother forcing them into a pocket dimension, an evil future version of herself, and finally her desperate attempts to stop her book’s cancellation, she’s now basically in limbo until some other writer decides to make use of her. Which I’m going to.
  • Powers/Abilities/Equipment:
    • Comic Book Physiology: As a denizen of a comicbook universe, she’s become somewhat more physically capable than she was in her real world.
      • Durability: She’s a bit tougher than a normal human. Bullets and knives work as usual, but blunt force trauma is bit less effective. Things will still break if you hit them hard enough, but medium-sized falls can be mitigated by a roll, superhero landing, landing on her face comically, or landing on something that will crumple and break like wooden boxes or convenient mooks. A baseball bat to the chest won’t pulverise all her ribs unless it’s Captain America or above swinging it, neither will a normal person’s punch knock her out unless it’s to the back of the head.
      • Strength: She can’t lift a car or throw a motorbike, but she can throw a sack of gold over her head and slice through thin metal/most of a torso with her swords, and a suit of plate armour or a backpack full of steel objects doesn’t seem to hamper her agility.
      • Agility: She can jump around seven feet vertically, and do the usual action-hero “jump out of the way of the enemy’s telegraphed incoming attack” that everyone else in the RP does in every fight scene that involves ranged combat.
      • Imperfection Removal: Nobody’s perfect, but nobody wants to read about undramatic imperfections. Her lactose intolerance disappeared during her original jaunt between worlds, and she can’t develop cellulite, get spots or acne, cut herself shaving her legs (nor will her legs be anything other than perfectly shaved no matter how long it’s been since she would’ve been able to access a razor), or need glasses. Also, she won’t age past her early thirties at most, unless it’s significant to the plot or character arc.
    • Mercenary Training: Gwen has been trained in both armed and unarmed combat by the legendary villain Batroc The Leaper, which has been tempered in combat experiences both mundane and supernatural. Her fighting style is crude and simplistic, though she is fond of leg-sweeps and kicks, thanks to her mentor. She specializes in guns and sword, though blunt weapons are simple enough to grasp, and she does appear to have practiced with a bow. She also knows how to build bombs.
    • Equipment:
      • Basic Weapons: Two basic semi-automatic pistols strapped to her thighs, two more in shoulder holsters, and a pair of katanas strapped to her back. Willing to accept any weapons given.
      • Bombs: She usually carries a few customized grenades in her cute animal backpack. And let’s give her some of her pink smoke bombs too. They make pink smoke clouds. She has a colour theme going on. Let’s also give her a couple of those magnetic bombs she uses, too.
      • Magic Countdown Watch: A magic watch given to her by Doctor Strange as she fast-forwarded through several adventures. It tells her how many pages are left in her comic. As she has left the comic and the end of the RP is not in anyone’s minds, the clock now shows Infinity. This does nothing but give Gwen an ego boost.
      • Web Shooter: Another one of her fast-forward adventures saw her team up with the Spider-Family to stop the Green Goblin on Halloween. They gave her a single spare webshooter, likely to give her a non-lethal option. This device shoots an artificial spider-web-like substance. The web comes in three main varieties: rope-like (with adhesive end-points, this can also be used to shoot nets of webbing. In this form, the webbing is as strong as steel, yet flexible as nylon), adhesive blob (which is less strong, more akin to fabric, but is incredibly sticky. These blobs range from fist-size to torso-covering) and rubbery web-bullets. Webbing can only travel a maximum of sixty feet in a straight line (further if fired in a parabolic arc) and dissolves into dust after an hour.
    • Massive Geek: Gwen is a massive geek. Comics, videogames, anime, movies, you name it, she’s into it. The pop culture of her world is identical to our own. As a result, she will recognise some of her comrades as fictional characters. Naturally, this will only apply to those who give permission for such knowledge to be available to her. She also doesn’t know everything, not even in her specialist subject of comics. She had trouble remembering who was currently Thor, and despite her name she was never a fan of Deadpool. Anything created after 2015, her arrival on Earth-616, is also a complete blindspot to her.
      • Tactical Geekery: She’s actually managed to turn her geekery to her advantage in combat. How? Well, she’s aware of narrative tropes and conventions, and is able to incorporate this into her tactical and strategic planning. She invokes such tropes as the Unspoken Plan Guarantee, or changes combat strategies to suit the genre that they’re fighting in.
  • Medium Awareness: Even before her powers kicked in, she did have vague awareness of her comics-ness. She was able to discern art-styles. What does this mean here? Well, everything will feel a little wordy to her, and she might notice if someone takes a while to post, or when the journey to a location is skipped with a few lines of description
  • The Power Comic: This power is unavailable to her because she is no longer in a comicbook and is only included for the sake of completion. With that disclaimer out the way, as Gwen stayed in the Marvel Universe, she gained the power to interact and manipulate with her own comic. This gave her the ability to teleport by jumping between panels, change her size by abusing perspective, travel forwards and backwards in time so long as the events were portrayed in the comic, silence all noise by grabbing the sound-effects, read her own narration, interact with her thought and speech bubbles, cut holes in people and pull alternate versions of them out of the hole, and even step outside reality by stepping outside of the panels completely. This was only limited by what the writer and editor let her do. Naturally, we’re not letting her do any of this because this isn’t a comic.
  • Differences From Canon: Okay, so technically, the “original" Gwen Poole is a young girl who lived in a world just like ours, but disappeared sometime in 2015. This Gwen Pool is a young woman with the exact same history, but in the Marvel Universe. Except this history is known only through records, as no-one knew she existed before 2015, not even her supposed parents. This is because Doctor Strange copy-pasted her history from the original universe to the Marvel Universe. So, basically, there’s no differences from canon.
