Character has a tuft of head fur + context as to why (10/50)
  1. Recap.Pokemon PK 7 Pikachu And Pichu: The way to tell the Pichu Brothers apart is to look for the Tuft of Head Fur, which belongs to the eldest and most responsible of the two. Pothole denotes a legitimate reason for the tuft of head fur.
  2. WesternAnimation.Rio: both macaws and toucans are designed with a crest of feathers on their head that varies in size and shape, to give the individual characters more distinct appearances. Taken to the extreme with Roberto in the sequel, whose crest makes him look like a Long-Haired Pretty Boy with Non-Mammalian Hair. Reason given for why the characters have a tuft of head fur.
  3. WebAnimation.Adult Arthur: Both Arthur and Buster have each grown a tuft of fur in order to emulate short hair. Reason given for why characters have a tuft of head fur.
  4. WesternAnimation.Rudolph The Red Nosed Reindeer 1998: Bucks like Rudolph and Arrow have fur on their heads while does like Zoey don't. Reason given for why characters have tuft of head fur.
  5. Characters.Lilo And Stitch The Titular Duo: Stitch has a small tuft of fur on his head as a small sign showing how rough he is. Reason given for why the character has a tuft of head fur.
  6. Literature.Flawed Dogs: Sam has one and it plays a large part of his beauty, as the tuft of head hair is from a valuable bloodline and one of the reasons why he gets destined to be a show dog. Reason given for the tuft of head fur.
  7. Characters.Happy Feet: More like tuft of head feathers, but Ramon, Lombardo, Nestor, and Rinaldo to an extent have prominent and stylized feathers on their head to distinguish them from the majority of the Adelie penguins. Reason given for tuft of head fur.
  8. WesternAnimation.Animals United Uniformity Exception: Chino is the only cape buffalo in his herd with white horns. Also, Biggie the rhino has red hair, which makes him stand out from the other average looking rhinos. Pothole gives reason for tuft of head fur.
  9. Characters.Harvey Beaks (1): Harvey has a fluff of feathers on his head that makes it clear that he is feathered instead of blue skinned. Reason given for the tuft of head fur.
  10. WesternAnimation.Daisy Duck: In some appearances, she has a tuft of feathers in replacement for hair. Fantasia 2000 is one such example. Reason given for why the character has a tuft of fur.

Character just has a tuft of head fur and other ZCEs (37/50)
  1. Characters.Chuck E Cheese: Often seen having a full head of feathers and wearing them in pigtails (or, as of 2016, in a ponytail). Sometimes, like in her orignal incarnation, Helen is seen wearing her feathered hair down. Character just has a tuft of head fur.
  2. Characters. The Lion Guard Non Natives: She has a small one. No context beyond "character has one".
  3. Characters.Thems Fightin Herds: Has small tufts of hair the same color as her fur. It's impossible to tell where the line between the two begins and ends. Character just has a tuft of head fur.
  4. WesternAnimation.Shaun The Sheep: While the rest of the sheep on the show have completely black heads, the titular Shaun has a tuft of white wool on his. Character just has a tuft of head fur.
  5. WesternAnimation.Cats Dont Dance: Both feline leads have a significant amount of fur atop their heads. Orange tabby tom Danny has the standard tuft that even his straw hat can't contain, while pretty angora kitty Sawyer likes to curl hers into a stylish swirl. Being the main characters, theirs are the most prominent of all the anthropomorphic characters in-universe. As written, the entry just says that the characters have a tuft of head fur.
  6. WebVideo.Ryan Toys Review: Combo has a tuft of blond hair on his head. Character just has a tuft of head fur.
  7. WhatCouldHaveBeen. The Lion King: Timon's Disappeared Dad was originally a character. He was scrapped because it was felt there were too many characters in the film already. Timon's dad ended up becoming a Composite Character with Ma. Timon's dad has a buzzcut-like Tuft of Head Fur. Pothole just references a character having a Tuft of Head Fur.
  8. Characters.Lilo And Stitch Experiments 6 Series: Subverted; those three things on his head that look like fluffy fur are actually really short antennae. Still, that didn't stop the Japanese from making them into an actual tuft of fur in an episode of the anime. As written, no reason is given for why the characters have a tuft of head fur.
  9. Characters.Jellystone: She has one underneath her Tuft of Head Fur as revealed in "Business". Pothole just references a character having a tuft of head fur.
  10. Characters.Puppy Dog Pals: Hissy has pink fluff on her head. No context given beyond "character has this."
  11. Characters.Tarzan: More so a bunch of loose hairs on the top of his head, but it still qualifies. No context given beyond "character has this."
  12. Characters.Watership Down: Hence his name; Thlayli ("furhead") in lapine. No context as to specifically why this character has a tuft of head fur.
  13. Characters.PAW Patrol: Both of them have this, although Ella's is longer. Not much context given beyond "character has this."
  14. Animesque: Warrior Cats graphic novels, despite being American in origin, are called manga, and James Barry in particular has a more animesque style than the other artists. He tends to give cats tufts on their heads, even though cats don't actually have said tufts (and in an extreme example, one had actual hair). Pothole merely references characters having one with no reason why.'
  15. Characters.Bluey: She has one. No context beyond "character has one."
  16. Characters.Peep And The Big Wide World: She has a few strands of hair. No context beyond "character has one."
  17. Trivia.Sonic R: The models Sonic Team originally gave to Traveller's Tales were more accurate, but had to be simplified for optimization purposes. For example, Tails' Tuft of Head Fur and whiskers were removed, as were the orange stripes on Knuckles' shoes. The unmodified models are used in the ending images. Pothole just references a character having one.
  18. WebAnimation.Wings: Furry Female Mane: Most female characters have hair and most males simply have tufts, though there are exceptions. For example, Dawn has blue hair. Pothole just seems to say males have tufts of head fur, without explaining any significance as to why.
  19. WesternAnimation.Pinocchio: Figaro the kitten has a tuft of fur on the back of his head. No context beyond "character has one."
  20. SonicTheHedgehog.Tropes F To L Sonic the Hedgehog (Archie Comics) plays this straight with many of its Canon Foreigner female characters (and often males too). In comparison, SegaSonic canon characters tend to avert this. Bunnie is one example where she originally averted this trope and had a Tuft of Head Fur but was later given long hair. Pothole just mentions a character having a tuft of head fur.
  21. YMMV.Mickey Donald Goofy The Three Musketeers: This film's interpretations of Mickey and Minnie really boosted their popularity. Much fan art of the characters is inspired by these versions of the characters (especially Minnie's Tuft of Head Fur). Pothole just mentions a character having a tuft of head fur, but not why they have it.
  22. KungFuPanda.Tropes Short Films: Teenage Po has a short clump of hair on the top of his head. No context beyond "character has one."
  23. Characters. The Walten Files: Astonishingly Appropriate Appearance: A non-superpower variation. Rosemary bears a notable resemblance to Sha, the animatronic character she ends up having her remains stuffed in. Her '80s Hair is shaped similarly to Sha's Tuft of Head Fur, and she is portrayed wearing a puffy green sweater reminiscent of sheep's wool; to drive it home, the cartoon illustration of Sha in Relocate Project repeatedly glitches into Rosemary, with the two sharing an identical silhouette. Considering how her murderer could very likely be her husband possessing the Bon animatronic, coupled with how Bon and Sha themselves have a habit of appearing close together, this is very fitting. Pothole just mentions a character having a tuft of head fur.
  24. Characters.Harvey Beaks (2): Like father, like son. No context.
  25. DivergentCharacterEvolution.Spyro Reignited Trilogy: In Sheila's Alp, the three Mountain Goats had the exact same design and shared the same exact voice in the original game. For Reignited, they now each have distinct designs as well as have different sounding voices. Each of them have different shaped horns and different goatee designs. They each wear different colored vests with Billy's being red, Pete's being violet, and Bobby's being green. Each of their shirts has a different symbol with Billy's having a red triangle, Pete's having a violet diamond, and Bobby's having a blue circle. They as well differ in eye colors with Billy's being blue, Pete's being brown, and Bobby's being green. Each one also vary in tufts of hair with Bobby having a tuft of white hair, Pete just having some strands sticking out, and Billy having none. Lastly, Billy is the only one whose goatee is tied and Bobby is the only one with an earring. Pothole just references a character having a tuft of head fur.
  26. TheGrimAdventuresOfBillyAndMandy.Tropes S To Z: Sassy Cat has fluff on her head. No context beyond "character has one."
  27. VideoGame.Disney Heroes Battle Mode: Off-Model: Downplayed. For some reason, PerBlue added a small Tuft of Head Fur to Angel on her pictures in the skill icons (apart from her White skill Siren Song). She does not have one like Stitch does in her canon, though they did not add one to her actual model anyway. Pothole gives no reason for the tuft of head fur.
  28. Film.Who Framed Roger Rabbit: Roger Rabbit has a tuft of red hair on his head that is different from the white fur covering the rest of his body. No reason given for the tuft of fur.
  29. Characters.Animaniacs The Warner Siblings: Yakko and Wakko both have these in the reboot. No context beyond "characters has these."
  30. Characters.Word Girl: He has a few tufts that stick out above his forehead. No context beyond "character has one."
  31. Characters. The Solve It Squad Returns: He has a tuft of darker brown hair on his head as though it were human hair. Not enough context.
  32. Trivia.Star Fox Adventures: Krystal's original Dinosaur Planet design is vastly different from her finalized design. She wore a simple brown dress and brown boots, had a white face mask, and (due to N64 hardware limitations) had no Furry Female Mane or even a Tuft of Head Fur. Pothole doesn't mention any reason for the tuft of head fur.
  33. VideoGame.Samba De Amigo: Furry Female Mane: Inverted. Linda's head is always covered and Amiga only has a Tuft of Head Fur. However the very male but Bishōnen Rio had a full head of reddish blonde hair. Pothole gives no reason for the tuft of head fur.
  34. WesternAnimation.Elinor Wonders Why: Ari has a spiky tuft as hair. No context beyond "character has one."
  35. Characters.Otherworldly Ravenous Beast: Has one as you can expect from a creature with fur around his head. No context beyond "character has one."
  36. Characters.Duck Tales: Sometimes. His hairstyle varies from episode to episode from a full head of hair versus only the part that is visible when he's wearing his hat. Reason not given as to why the character has a tuft of head fur.
  37. Anime. One Stormy Night Secret Friends: Mei has a hair-looking tuft of pink fluff on her head. Low context beyond "character has one."

    Unclear (2/50)
  1. Characters.Loli Rock: Amaru's is dark blue/purple/indigo. It would be unremarkable, since he's an alien, if not for the fact that this is apparently his "hair", according to the episode "Wicked Red". Unclear. Not sure if "this is his hair" is enough to justify the entry, but I'm putting it here because it might be.
  2. Webcomic.Changed Rebirth: As a white latex wolf, Colin still retains a tuft of his original hair color. Unclear as to if him being a white latex wolf is a tropeworthy reason to have a tuft of head fur.

    Unclassifiable (1/50)
