Main Characters

    Ana

Businesswoman, wife, mother of three.Ana Servín is a strong and determined woman who has managed to raise a family despite being workaholic. A perfectionist with all its letters, she wasn't prepared for for her entire life to be changed forever by the accidental switch of her baby daughter.


  • Deadpan Snarker: The initial interactions between Ana and Mariana show Ana to be quite snarky. She often chides Mariana for her youth, naivety or inexperience.
  • Control Freak: Her daughter comes with a manual.
  • Crazy Jealous Guy: Elena calls Mariana to warn her that Ana has really lost her marbles after Ana all but raided her home looking for Mariana. She never behaved that insanely jealous for Juan Carlos.
  • Doting Parent: Ana's status as Ice Queen does not interfere with her moving heaven and earth for what her children need.
  • Easily Forgiven: Ana is forgiven again and again all her obnoxious and plain rude attempts to take Regina away from Mariana implying she's not fit for motherhood.
  • Embarrassing Tattoo: Ana had one of her first love, Daniel. She got it removed but still makes Juan Carlos jealous.
  • Gayngst: Downplayed, mostly due to the nature of the series, in season 3 Ana has a tough time dealing with the consequences of falling in love with Mariana. Even her children notice she cries at night. Ultimately all her family supports her so she can get her Happy Ending.
  • Happily Married: To Juan Carlos, subverted, since it appears so at the beginning of the story but it quickly goes downfall.
  • High-Powered Career Woman: Ana paved her way at work and even gives a conference about the role of successful businesswoman in a male-dominated environment. Just before she announces her resignation.
  • Housewife: Averted. She loves working and the few days she took off and spent home, she was driving her children and the housekeeper crazy. Also, she hates to cook.
  • Ice Queen: Her development as a character shows the transformation of Ana to a more free and happier version of herself.
  • It Meant Something to Me: Ana says it out loud when Mariana does not correspond her love confession.
  • I Want My Beloved to Be Happy: Another milestone in Ana's character development, she understands that Mariana leaving for her dream job and taking Regina with her is the right thing to do.
  • Call It Karma: Ana winces when she learns Mariana named her daughter Valentina. Ironic twist of fate that has her ending up with Valentina as her biological child.
  • Long-Distance Relationship: A three-month time skip by the end of the third season revealed that Ana and Mariana are together-together despite living in different cities.
  • Manchild: Despite being a highly successful businesswoman, Ana resorts to tantrums and silent treatments towards her loved ones. Mariana points out how childish that is when she is the recipient of such treatment from Ana.
  • Married to the Job: Ana does not keep her promise of staying away from her job for her third pregnancy. She even tries to manage a conference call in the hospital within minutes of delivering her baby.
  • Maternity Crisis: Ana is in the middle of a guided tour of a factory with important Japanese clientes when her water breaks.
  • MRS Degree: Averted. Juan Carlos was her sweetheart back in college but her professional life is vital for her.
  • Older Than They Look: When Ferrán is flirting with her, Ana mentions she is not as young as she looks.
  • Poor Communication Kills: Whether it's silent treatment or passive-aggressive methods, Mariana makes Ana agree to have better communication and be open with each other.
  • Practically Different Generations: Diego, Tere and Víctor's son, is Mariana's half-brother and is born by the end of the third season.
  • Romantic Fakeā€“Real Turn: When Ana and Mariana should be ready to leave the charade of their romance, Ana confesses she fell in love her.
  • The Perfectionist:
    • Ana worries the pictures after her delivery will be perfect. She asks for the walls to be photoshopped, the room to appear larger and the bedsheets to have another color.
    • When Mariana is taking pictures of Regina and Valentina, Ana asks her to airbrush one of the babies' chubby chin.
    • Very appropriately, Elena refers to her as "Mrs.Perfect"
  • Uptight Loves Wild: She fell for Mariana, after all, with everything she disliked of her at first.

23-year-old undergrad student aiming to get a degree on Mathematics, Mariana, is a free-spirited, idealist who is finding her way in life after being knocked-up by her now ex-boyfriend Pablo. She stands up for what she believes and does not back down but her life will also take her to do things she would have never imagined.


  • Amicable Exes: With both Pablo and Elena. They even try to share an apartment for a while and also work on Konene app.
  • Ambiguously Bi: Averted. Mariana is outright bisexual.
  • Brainy Brunette: Both Pablo and Ana very proudly praise Mariana's intelligence. Plus, she is a mathematician.
  • Girl Next Door: Mariana looks and behaves like one.
  • Fallen-on-Hard-Times Job: Ana is suprised to see Mariana working as a bicycle-riding food-delivery girl.
  • Hollywood Atheist: Averted. Although Mariana does not believe in subjecting children to religious rituals and beliefs until they are old enough to decide for themselves, she understands Ana finds them important. Together they compromise and agree to have a dual ceremony with both their ideas for their babies.
  • Long-Distance Relationship: A three-month time skip by the end of the last episode of the third season reveals that Mariana and Ana are together-together despite living in different cities.
  • She Is Not My Girlfriend: Twice on the same episode, Mariana does not acknowledge Elena as her girlfiend, much to Elena 's dismay.
  • Unwanted Harem: She has Elena, Pablo, Ferrán and Ana all pining over her.
  • What Does She See in Him?: Elena point-blank asks Mariana what the hell she sees in "Mrs. Perfect" to be in love with her.
  • Wide-Eyed Idealist: Ana is extremely annoyed at Mariana when they can't agree in front of a potential investor. Mariana was defending her ideals and vision for the app she built and Ana wanted to focus on handling the financial strategy first.

Ana's Family

Juan Carlos and Ana have been married for twenty years. He works for the family business under his father's orders. He is a family man and has a good relationship with his wife and children.


  • Clueless Chick-Magnet: Ana married him for a reason. Tere had a thing with him that went a little beyond a one-night stand. After his divorce, he meets Fernanda, discovers Alma Toca had a thing for him and even the dog trainer makes a pass at him.
  • Happily Married: To Ana, subverted, he already cheated on her.
  • Odd Friendship: With Pablo and his roommates, they start hanging out together for fun.
  • Trademark Favorite Food: Juan Carlos never fails to mentionChilaquilesfor breakfast. He is especially fond on them when he doesn't want to order from a restaurant but wants Altagracia's, joined by his wife and kids.

    Ceci

Ana and Juan Carlos's oldest daughter, Cecilia, is in her last year of high-school before applying for college. Ceci is mostly friendly and positive.


  • Cool Big Sis: Ro and her get along quite well. Ro even confesses he didn't want her to go on vacation and leave him alone.
  • Daddy's Girl: That's why it hits Juan Carlos so hard when they are not on good terms.
  • Genki Girl: Ceci is always doing something new. She is always full of ideas and eager to help. It doesn't necessarily always go well, like the she ended up diverting traffic instead of acting in a commercial or when a patron got chemical burns in his face because she forgot to remove the cream on time.
  • Weight Woe: Ceci has a hard time dealing with being called out on her weight by her friend Olivia when they both want the same dress for prom.

    Rodrigo 
Played by: Emilio Beltrán

Ana and Juan Carlos's only son, he is slightly awkward with girls. He plays the flute and always wants to find a way to charm his crush(es). Being a freshman in high-school is not easy and it gets slightly more complicated for him when his parents are not only going for divorce but his mother springs a girlfriend out of the blue.

    Altagracia 
Played by: Nora Velázquez

The family's housekeeper, she has been in the family for a very long time. She is helpful and absolutely obedient of Ana's rules.

  • Happiness in Slavery: She did not take the opportunity to retire when Ana offered and is even grateful she was allowed to stay working.
  • Kindly Housekeeper: She has been working for the family for years and does not act like the lady of the house. She is very welcoming to Mariana when she first arrives even wanting to prepare anything she wants for breakfast.

    Romelia 
Played by: Lisa Owen
Ana's mother.


  • Hollywood Atheist: During the baptism she tries to sneak Regina and get the priest to christen her behind Mariana's back arguing she would not reach heaven otherwise.

    Victor Aguilar 
Played by: Rodrigo Cachero

Juan Carlos's younger brother.


  • Friend to All Children: Tere tries to test the waters before revealing she is pregnant. Turns out Víctor has the time of his life looking for baby clothes and attending a kid's party.
  • The Un-Favourite: He calls himself the black sheep of the family.

  • Nice Guy: After an initial jerkass moment, not only does he show genuine interest in raising his daughter and provide for Mariana and her, when confronted with morally ambiguous choices, he steps up and does the right thing, for example, when he did not sabotage the party with Ana's video.
  • Odd Friendship: With Juan Carlos. After the misunderstanding with him and his daughter, Ceci, Pablo becomes friends with him.

    Elena

Best friend of Mariana, incidentally also her girlfriend as the story starts.


  • First Girl: Subverted. Elena is Mariana's first girlfriend and female lover, Mariana ends up with Ana, instead.
  • Nice Gal: Her actions go above and beyond her love and loyalty to Mariana. Ana, Ceci and Ro have many things to thank her for.
  • Mentor in Queerness: Age-inverted. Elena becomes this to Ana. She shows Ana apps and takes her to queer bar to help her define herself. More than that, she gives her a sincere heart-felt explanation that the coming-out process is individual and different for everyone and that it's on Ana herself to figure it out.
  • Pro Bono Barter: Elena requests a bag of cheese potato chips And a Diet Coke per session in exchange for teaching him to play the drums. After her first assessment of him, she increases the fee to two bags.
  • Promotion to Opening Titles

    Lucía

Mariana's grandmother.


  • Karma: Lucia warns Mariana not to play with people;s feelings because not even her can help against bad karma.

    Anuar 
Played by: Fernando Memije

Tere's eternal best friend.Mariana grew up with the idea that Anuar was her father. She discovers that Tere has been hiding the real identity of his father, yet Anuar accepted to be Mariana's father because he was always in love with Tere.

    Cynthia

Ana's assistant. She is bright, young, hard-working and ambitious. Cynthia looks up to Ana and even covers up to her. She also happens to be Chava's cousin.


  • Hero Antagonist: Lampshaded. Mariana and Cynthia agree they could have been good friends but their relationships with Pablo makes it almost impossible.
  • Just Following Orders: Cynthia confesses she was just taking pictures of Regina and Pablo's apartment because Ana is worried sick about the baby.
  • The Reliable One: She anticipates many of Ana's needs and fulfills her job to the point that she considers herself indispensable. She follows Ana to her new job and also proves to be quite efficient helping Pablo with the business side of his app.
  • Schedule Fanatic: She even draws up one to cover Pablo's time with Regina, Pablos time with her and their time with Regina.

    Conrado

One of Pablo's roommates. He is a lawyer and occasional babysitter of Regina.


    Chava

Another one of Pablo's roommates and bowling buddy.


    Manolo

  • Character Tics: He is always flipping his hair back.
  • Erotic Eating: He explains to Cynthia why she shouldn't date Pablo while eating a peanut and a strawberry.
  • Jerkass: He never tries to hide it but is specially noticeable when he dismisses Pablo as candidate for being sort-of-related to Ana.

    Ferran 
Played by: Matías Novoa


  • Child Hater: Zigzagged. Mariana did not notice it when they were at the office, but after starting living with him, it becomes evident that Ferrán is not ready to make the accomodations needed to have a baby at home. He readjusts his views and changes but when it is revealed that he neglected to tell Mariana about the child he has, Mariana breaks up with him for good.
  • Easily Condemned: All love is gone when Mariana discovers her has been keeping the secret of having a daughter he had no intention of taking care of until he felt guilty for taking care of Regina.
"You've made it clear I can't trust you. I can't be with someone who'd hide something so very important, your daughter."
