The Dukes of Hazzard is a 2005 action comedy film adapted from the 1979–85 series of the same name, directed by Broken Lizard's Jay Chandrasekhar and starring Seann William Scott, Johnny Knoxville, Jessica Simpson, Burt Reynolds, and Willie Nelson.

This work provides examples of:

  • Accidental Misnaming: A character misremembers Enos' name as "Anus". Family Guy did the same joke, and they're probably not the only ones.
  • Adaptational Attractiveness: In the series, Boss Hogg is practically the Trope Codifier of the Fat, Sweaty Southerner in a White Suit. In the movie, however, he's portrayed by the much slimmer Burt Reynolds.
  • Adaptational Personality Change: Bo and Luke's personalities are both switched and modernized. In the original series, Bo was the skirt chaser and the Casanova Wannabe while Luke was the more smart and level-headed one. In this movie, Bo is the more grounded one while Luke hits up a lot of the girls.
  • Adaptational Villainy: The movie version has Roscoe and Boss Hogg portrayed as traditional, competent evil guys instead of the goofball minor incompetents they usually were in the TV show. While they were corrupt, greedy jerks in the show, too, they were known to Pet the Dog on occasion, were relatively harmless villains, and had lines that they wouldn't cross - for example, Hogg hated violence and avoided physically harming people as part of his schemes.
  • Adaptation Dye-Job: Daisy Duke is changed from a brunette to a blonde.
  • All Guys Want Sorority Women: There's one scene that involves Seann William Scott and Johnny Knoxville walking through one of these places, and the women wear less and less as they progress.
  • And Starring: The opening's cast roll ends "with Lynda Carter and Willie Nelson".
  • Cops Need the Vigilante: It actually did this mostly right. The Duke cousins all broke the law, but they did so not only without permission but in the face of police antagonism.
  • Dramatic Curtain Toss: The 69 Charger gets a Dramatic Dust Cover Removal.
  • Driver Faces Passenger: Seann William Scott plays this one for laughs.
  • Erotic Eating: Daisy Duke tries to distract some lawmen with some very suggestive (melting) ice cream eating in the direct-to-DVD sequel.
  • Framing the Guilty Party: An example of this being done to a good guy. To get the Dukes out of the way, the cops plant a still at their home. As the Dukes are known moonshine smugglers, it's questioned why the cops had to frame them in the first place. Daisy explains that the cops are just too stupid to find the real one.
  • Groin Attack: The Bar Brawl scene has one when Daisy sends a pool cue ball shooting from a fan into some poor schmuck's groin.
  • I Can't Believe I'm Saying This: Bo and Luke Duke unwittingly get some African-Americans mad at them and, before they have a chance to harm the Dukes, a police car shows up. One of the Dukes comments that he's glad to see the cops, then adds that he never expected to say that.
  • Mistaken for Racist: Bo and Luke are shown stuck in traffic in Atlanta. As several other drivers pass them, they make comments. The first is a stereotypical redneck trucker who shouts out "Southern by the Grace of God!" leaving them a little confused. Then a black couple drives by them and asks them if they're late for their Klan meeting, leaving them even more confused. Another redneck drives by complimenting them again. Then another woman drives by and sarcastically says "Nice roof" before Flipping the Bird at them. Bo and Luke then check their roof of the General Lee and discover the Confederate flag that it was so well known for on the TV series.
Narrator: woops.. there goes the canoe
  • Narrator: Junior Brown narrates the film.
  • Ridiculous Exchange Rates: This exchange between the Dukes and a college kid they've suckered into analyzing a core sample they've given him: "How does 24,000 yen a year sound?" "Sounds like 40 bucks." It's actually about $240.
  • Time for Plan B: Gave us the line: "Plan B's jes' a fancy way of sayin' 'drivin' by the seat o' yer pants'."
  • Torso with a View: Bo Duke is shown a turkey that has a nice hole blown through it.
  • Unrated Edition: There is an unrated scene of the boys crashing in on topless college coeds.
  • Where's the Kaboom?: Sheev and the Dukes need to crack a safe, so they cover it in C4 and try to blow it up. The fuse fails to set if off, so they're left with a safe covered in potentially dangerous C4. Luke solves the problem by shooting a flaming arrow at the safe, creating an impressive explosion.
  • Why Don't You Marry It?: One of the Duke cousins said he'd sleep with their car. When the other asked if he meant in instead of with, the cousin confirmed he meant to have sex with it.
