    Bloodshot

Bloodshot

Bloodshot is a former soldier with powers of regeneration, technomancy and meta-morphing made possible through nanites injected into his blood. After escaping from his masters at Project Rising Spirit, Bloodshot seeks to discover his true identity and other purpose besides killing.

  • Healing Factor: The nanites in his blood allow him to survive almost anything
  • Hero Killer: More like super human hunter. He was made primary to hunt Harbringers.
  • Multiple-Choice Past: Has a large number of fake memories implanted in him.
  • Wearing a Flag on Your Head: The Japanese Circle of the Sun. In the original Valiant Comics continuity, it had connections with Rai.
  • Wolverine Wannabe: Bloodshot fits most of the criteria. Being a Super-Soldier who had Nanites injected into his bloodstream that gives him enhanced physical abilities including a Healing Factor. Bonus points in that just like Wolverine he is given Fake Memories. One notable distinction between Wolverine is that Bloodshot uses guns for combat rather than blades.

    Doctor Solar

Doctor Solar/Phillip Seleski

A scientist who gained godlike power in a science accident. While the details of how he gains his powers vary for each incarnation, the results are always the same: absolute mastery over matter-energy manipulation.

  • A God Am I: Played with in the valiant comics run. While it does occur to Phil that he is no longer a man and does things that mess with time, space, and reality, even creating an alternate version of earth, he never outright thinks of himself as a god.
  • A God I Am Not: This is played straight during the Dark Horse mini-series with Dr. Seleski outright denying he is one and refuses to see himself this way.
  • Super Power Lottery: Solar is probably one of the biggest winners in comics barring cosmic level beings that can warp reality on a vast universe wide scale. His primary ability is that he can completely control matter and energy, conversion from one to the other, and has the senses to perceive all levels of reality. This give him a wide array of abilities which include:
    • Barrier Warrior: Solar can create multiple types of energy fields and even give shapes to them much like the DC hero Green Lantern.
    • Biomanipulation: While he cannot create, Solar can manipulate life and organic compounds via molecular and atomic manipulation.
    • Energy Absorption: Solar is able to absorb any type of energy and use it to increase his own abilities or convert it into toher effects.
    • Energy Donation: Solar can transfer energy from himself to other sources be they machines or other super-powered individuals.
  • Healing Factor: Any damage done to Solar's physical form can be repaired almost instantly through his ability to manipulate atoms and molecules.
  • Immortality: Solar is no longer bound by biological limitations and control his form completely becoming Ageless and immune to any physical ailment.
  • Mind over Matter: By being able to manipulate matter and energy interchangeably, he can move, shape, and control various forms of matter.
  • Power of Creation: While Solar cannot make energy or matter from nothing, he can reform and restructure energy and matter to create theoretically anything.
  • Reality Warper: Of the manipulate his physical surroundings variety. It's also important to note that Solar's powers require him to build and shape things around him the way an architect plans a building and a construction worker puts it together. He doesn't simply wish things into existence.
  • Space Master: Solar can shift himself from one point to another via extra dimensional shifting and quantum entanglement.
  • With Great Power Comes Great Insanity: Solar in the Valiant comics run had difficulty using his powers for the benefit of others and would often cause as much harm as good. This ultimately caused his sanity to deteriorate somewhat and to say he made some bad decisions with his power is an understatement.
  • With Great Power Comes Great Responsibility: The Solar in the Dark horse mini-series was arguably a reconstruction of the Valiant version of Solar and the writer, Shooter, goes out of his way to show that with this version of Solar, power doesn't have to corrupt. This version of Solar is a more straight up hero.

    Ninjak

Ninjak/Colin King

Rai is the perfect combination of biology and technology created by Father to protect the futuristic nation of New Japan in the year 4000 AD.

  • Legacy Character: Powered by the Blood of Heroes, the same nanites that power Bloodshot.
  • Legacy Immortality: The Rai name exists to be a "Spirit Guardian" for Japan in the 41st century, passed down from parent to child or given to a new hero.
  • Wearing a Flag on Your Head: Japanese Circle of the Sun (also inherited from Bloodshot).
    • In the rebooted version, he wears a Japanese Rising Sun.

X-O Manowar/Aric of Dacia

Returning to Earth where centuries had passed due to time-space relativity, Aric finds himself a barbarian in a "civilized" world, possessing the galaxy's most advanced weapon.

    Toyo Harada

Toyo Harada

Toyo Harada is head of the Harbinger Foundation and the most powerful telekinetic in the world. He has vast mental powers including telepathy, telekinesis and mind-control. Harada wants to make the world a better place - as long as it's under his control!

  • Big Bad: Shaping up to be one for the bulk of the Valiant Universe.
  • Composite Character: Take the powers of Charles Xavier, the vision of Magneto and mix them with Norman Osborn, and you'd get Harada.
  • Older Than They Look: He was present at the bombing of Hiroshima, which also activated his powers, but doesn't look any older than 50 at most. In the modern comics, an encounter with Bloodshot during the Harbinger Wars crossover revealed that it's just a Glamour that he puts on with his powers; during the fighting, it briefly slips and shows that he actually looks more like you'd expect, with gray hair and wrinkled skin.
  • Psychic Powers: Currently the most powerful one in the Valiant Universe.
  • Well-Intentioned Extremist: His actions stem from witnessing the destruction of the atomic bomb firsthand and being afraid about mankind's potential for self-destruction. Unfortunately, his idea of stopping that is him ruling the world.

  • Acrofatic: She is a large person, but remarkably agile.
  • The Cape: The Valiant Universe's counterpart to Superman and Captain America.
  • Clark Kenting: Played with. While Faith Herbert is her real name, it's not her secret identity, but rather that of Summer Smith, an office worker with a redhead wig.
  • Fangirl: She is an enthusiastic fan of science fiction pop culture.
  • Genki Girl: She has a happy and enthusiastic personality, and loves being a superhero.
  • Ironic Name: She's much heavier-looking than the name Zephyr might imply, but she can fly, is fast, and overall is a very effective superhero.

Now, the two travel the world to solve mysteries and take down secret societies. He is a Psiot with the ability of perception and a skilled martial artist.

    Armstrong

Armstrong/Aram Anni-Padda

Aram Anni Pada, aka Armstrong, is one of the eternal brothers in the Valiant Universe and an immortal. He travels the world with his buddy Archer to take down the evil Sect.

  • Big Fun: Armstrong is a fairly stocky, almost chubby-looking guy, but is a fun-loving hedonist with a surprising amount of charisma.
  • Complete Immortality: The Eternal Brothers have been granted independent control over their souls, making their physical forms merely shells they sculpt through unconscious will. This renders them Nigh-Invulnerable, with a powerful Healing Factor that allows them to restore any damage that they do take. Even complete physical destruction only temporarily renders them inactive, until they will themselves back into being. There is no known method to kill them.
  • Disproportionate Retribution: The Sect's pursuit of Armstrong ultimately began with the Order of Saint Phoebe, a sect of the Knights Templar who believed their titular leader, Mademoiselle Phoebe, was a living saint — in fact, she was actually a con artist playing them for a fool and secretly allied with King Phillip II of France. When Armstrong inadvertently spoiled Phoebe's efforts to seduce an important young English knight, Lockinbar of Kent, by taking his place and seducing her instead — and getting her pregnant. When her condition came out, she deflected the blame by accusing Armstrong of being a demon who raped her. The Order of Saint Phoebe became the core of the Sect, a religion-spanning cult that has spent centuries hunting down Armstrong in an effort to kill him dead for this.
  • Healing Factor: Part of the package powers from his immortality; Armstrong is hard to hurt in the first place, but once he is injured, he quickly reverts to his uninjured self.
  • Immortal Immaturity: Unlike his similarly immortal brothers, who are stoic, serious heroes, Armstrong is a laid-back hedonist whose ambitions start and end at enjoying himself for all eternity. He cares only for good food, strong drink, and plenty of willing women, and has no real interest in being a hero.
  • Nice Job Breaking It, Hero: The Sect first took shape and began its centuries-long crusade against Armstrong when he inadvertently destroyed a mosque sacred to the family of the Islamic emperor Saladin whilst trying to flee a band of angry Knights Templar.
  • Really Gets Around: Armstrong openly boasts about the thousands of hot women he's shagged over the centuries he's been alive, and is ever-ready to increase the score.
  • Super-Strength: He possesses incredible strength that allows him to achieve feats like uprooting trees and casually punching out T-rexes.
  • Super-Toughness: As a side-effect of his immortality, Armstrong is incredibly resistant to physical injury, although he can be hurt.

    Timewalker

Timewalker/Ivar Anni-Padda

Ivar Anni-Padda is one of the eternal brothers: Ivar (the Timewalker), Gilad (the Eternal Warrior), and Aram (Armstrong). They all are immortal.

    Quantum

  • The Whitest Black Guy: Grew up with a privileged upbringing in the suburban Connecticut as the only black kid around and is far less in tune with the plight of urban blacks than he'd like to think he is.

Woody/Woodrow "Woody" Henderson

Woody is the wisecracking partner and best friend of Quantum. The two share control over an energy matrix that gives them their powers but also requires them to touch their control bands every 24 hours or they will discorporate. Woody's portion of the energy spectrum manifests as force beams.

  • Bash Brothers: With Quantum.
