    Episode 1: The Draw of Destiny 
  • The simple fact that this episode was shown in movie theaters.
  • The new set - a custom built tavern setting, with LCD screens serving as windows and a number of lanterns hanging from the ceiling, all to allow Matt to further engross his players and the viewing audience into the theatre of the mind via mood lighting.
  • As usual, the plug for Hitpoint Press by Sam is amazing, but it's clear that an extended break has had him hold in a few too many plugs. His plug doesn't take the usual form of his comical shenanigans, but instead takes the form of a one-scene musical number asking to be sponsored by anyone who wants an advertisement. Crosses over with funny.
  • This campaign marks the introduction of three new races into the lore of Exandria: the elephantine Pachydan (which received an Early-Bird Cameo in Exandria Unlimited), the lionine Katari and the bird-like Eisfuura. The first is possibly ported from the Guildmaster's Guide to Ravnica's Loxodon, but the other two may be original Mercer creations. note 
  • Matt asking Liam, Ashley and Robbie to come to the table, as they reprise their characters from Exandria Unlimited, with Robbie being confirmed as a Guest-Star Party Member for the immediate future.
  • Not to be left out, Travis is playing his oneshot character from “The Search for Grog”, Sir Bertrand Bell, meaning we get four characters to fully explore who otherwise might have simply been forgotten.
  • The reveal of Sam’s new flask for the campaign - a dirty fuel jerrycan. He manages to completely derail the entire table as they stare in astonishment.
  • He then one-ups that just by listing off the names of some of his siblings and their creator's naming pattern. The table melts down with laughter.
  • Thanks to a Natural 20 and use of his class features, Ashton manages to deal 43 points of damage to the animated table. At Level 3. Naturally, they get the HDYWTDT, smashing the table into powder.
  • Upon rolling the first initiative of the campaign, Matt asks for 20-15, as there'd have to be some phenomenal rolls to get above that at such an early level. Laura, Sam, Marisha chime in for 18, 19, 17. But Ashley, Liam and Robbie get 22 (nat 20), 22, 23 (another nat 20). Taliesin rolls a piddly 13.
    Taliesin: Not terrible, in a normal world, that would have been not terrible but these people for some strange reason...I don't know.

    Episode 2: Trial by Firelight 
  • A point here for Lord Eshteross, who proves himself more than capable in a fight by taking on all eight of the players by himself, giving several of them some good licks and even scoring the first down on a player by knocking out Dorian. While he was still outnumbered, it's possible he could have taken the whole party had he not chosen to end the fight!
  • Orym gets a Natural 20 on an Insight check as to the motivations of Lord Eshteross. This prompts Matt to get up and whisper in Liam's ear as to the motivation, which the cast all immediately celebrates. (due to the pandemic, this was the first "insight whisper" in over a year) They even do a good job in covering anything that the audience could hear by randomly talking about Gargoyles.

    Episode 3: The Trail and the Toll 
  • Danas has her body found by the crew in the room. All of a sudden, here come the guards up the stairs. The team, quite rightly, thinks that the guards will think they killed Danas. Imogen, thinking quickly, grabs Dorian and makes it look like they were having sex with such intensity that it woke the neighbors. The ruse works, and the guards leave them alone.
  • The way Matt and Travis play out Bertrand being attacked. The moment was likely planned out to some extent between them, but nevertheless they play their roles especially well, particularly with Travis really selling his Tear Jerker of a death scene.
  • Imogen's prophetic dream of Bertrand's death depicts him walking proudly and surely towards the storm that consumes him.

    Episode 4: On the Trail of a Killer 
  • When the group finds Bertrand dead, Orym pieces together that his murderer is the same dwarven figure they fought before, by looking at Bertrand's wounds and recognizing them as being the same as the ones Orym himself sustained from the fight.
  • Ashton, despite a bad Charisma score, manages to talk a bartender into giving them the name of the dwarf they're after. Bonus points for this being after the group was struggling to figure out how to get the name, and Ashton being the one to ask why they don't just bribe him and deciding to go take care of it himself.

    Episode 5: The Threat Between the Walls 
  • The Duggar fight gets a few of them as the group takes their revenge for the death of Bertrand.
    • The first combo of the fight is Imogen using Tasha's Mind Whip to make Duggar take only an action, a bonus action, or a movement (only one of those three). Then, Fresh Cut Grass uses Command and orders Duggar to "alphabetize". While the rest of the party is momentarily confused, it forces Duggar to alphabetize the weapons in his hands. And because of the Tasha's Mind Whip from before, Duggar effectively loses his turn from this combo of Level 1 spells.
    • Fearne wraps him around the neck with Thorn Whip, and Laudna coats it in Eldritch Blast. Rule of Cool definitely applies here, as the whip pierces into Duggar's neck. Matt even admits he loves team combos, and that he'll apply Rule of Cool if it makes for a better image.
    • After a grueling battle with a deeply creepy Duggar, Dorian scores the HDYWTDT by using Thunder Wave right in Duggar's face, causing the dwarf to vaporize. Especially fitting as Dorian was the last one to see Bertrand alive.

    Episode 6: Growing Bonds and Teasing Threads 
  • Both awesome and terrifying given the situation, we find out Laudna's patron is: Delilah fucking Briarwood. Laudna admits during the game of "What the Fuck Is Up With That" that the Briarwoods killed her and mentioned that one of them is "in her head". When this entity has a brief conversation with Laudna before everyone goes to sleep, Laudna addresses this entity as "D", which narrows down the possible suspects to a very short list.
  • Dorian gets into a bard showdown, and FCG surreptitiously casts Eagle's Splendor on Dorian. This grants him advantage on his checks. On his first contested roll, Robbie rolls a Natural 20. Liam insists that he rolls again, because he does have advantage... and Robbie rolls another Natural 20. That's a 1 in 400 result.
    Matt (to Liam), laughing: You dick.
    • Dorian wins the showdown, causing the other bard to storm off.
  • Dorian pays off the desk worker to let them into the theater with 10 platinum. Laura starts losing her mind asking where Dorian kept all that money.
    • Even better? Shortly before they go, Fearne leans towards the man pretending to admire his coat, and successfully swipes six platinum back for herself.

    Episode 7: Behind the Curtain 
  • Seven episodes in, and we finally get the full C3 intro, "It's Thursday Night"! It's a live-action affair with the cast playing archaeologists.
  • After a grueling battle (grueling because everybody rolled relatively badly), Dorian once again scores the HDYWTDT and kills the Wall-Mimic with a clutch critical hit on a Chromatic Orb.
  • After a few episodes of Travis being absent and everyone wondering when his new character would be introduced, hearing Matt call for Travis to enter the room when Imogen makes contact with what seemed to be an NPC is incredible. The cast are clearly just as excited as the viewers.

    Episode 9: Thicker Grows the Meal and Plot 
  • Chetney manages to do a pretty good job of infiltration during this episode, especially on the last one, thanks to some good rolls. He manages to grab a trade map and a hundred platinum from a desk, gets a name in the Nightmare King, overhears some key evidence in a basement, and manages to escape out a window. He does have to blow his cover to escape, but the fact he got out without a scratch is still impressive — especially when he gets the metaphorical last word by hurling a tomato through the broken window he just escaped from.

    Episode 10: Ghosts, Dates, and Darker Fates 
  • The group effectively sows the seeds of the Moon Tower being haunted. It starts with Chetney, cornered by Vali, claiming to be a spirit and Imogen claiming she doesn't see him. Laudna then goes on to use her illusion spells and general creepiness to make various guards think they're seeing or hearing ghosts. During a stealth operation, she even causes one guard to run out of the district entirely and another to faint on the spot.
  • Ashton's description of how they got their distinctive injuries makes them sound like far more of a badass than they already were; during a burglary job gone wrong they took a blast of magic to the back that shoved them out of a third story window, shattering their head and most of that side of their torso on the stone pavers. They were able to hold on long enough to receive rudimentary medical attention, which due to being an earth genasi involved filling in the wounds with molten gold and slag glass and binding it all together with chaos magic (explaining where their subclass came from). The coolest part; the gold filling the cracks in their skin was melted down from the money they would've been paid for that job. Milo also deserves credit for being able to save Ashton as well, despite not knowing healing magic.

    Episode 11: Chasing Nightmares 
  • Midway through the fight with the Nightmare King, Chetney reveals a secret: He's not a rogue, he's a Blood Hunter with the Order of the Lycan subclass!
    Chetney: Boy, I bet you think you're real scary. You think Gurge has a gift? (snarls as his voice drops to a guttural growl) Wait 'til you get a load of me! (lets out a wolf howl)
    • As Chetney shifts, his stat card pulls up on screen and his portrait transforms into a werewolf in real time.
    • Before that, Chetney gets a Pre Ass Kicking One Liner when he walks up to an animated chair and says "The wood shop's open!"
  • Dorian and Orym, in the course of a single round of combat, are both downed by the Nightmare King and then roll Nat 20's to come back with one HP. The whole table goes wild, especially after Orym's roll.
    Matt: Take a picture of that shit!
  • Off screen, but Orym's story about the attack on the Air Ashari by the mysterious assassins has a quick bit that reminds people that Keyleth is a level 20 Druid; as soon as she was able to react to the attack, she took out every single assassin near instantly in Earth Elemental form.

    Episode 12: Make It Fashion 
  • Sam and Robbie drop some epic musical improv during the ad sketch.
  • F.C.G. somehow convinces the owner of the store to give him an outfit, which she does free of charge since she sees a possible new clothing avenue for automatons.
  • Chetney finishes Dorian's ship and gifts it to him.
    • Travis brought out an actual wooden ship and gave it to Robbie, which nobody was expecting. For added awesomeness a few minutes later Robbie asks Travis if Travis made the ship. Travis's response is that yes, he made the ship.
  • In an amazing power play, Ashton plans to show up to the ball wearing a mask that makes him look exactly like the Nightmare King.

    Episode 13: A Dance of Deception 
  • While it was far from pretty, the fact that the group manages to pull off their plan with only a minor snag is laudable. Fearne pulls off the ring, they manage to find it in the chaos, and get the tracking ring on their target's finger. In some ways, the messiness and frequent snarls in the execution only make their success that much more impressive - despite almost nothing going to plan, and some very unfortunate dice rolls, they Indy Ploy their way through it by the skin of their teeth thanks to quick thinking and willingness to assist one another however they can manage.

    Episode 14: In Too Deep 
  • Ashton hangs in long enough in a fistfight with Ratanish, the goliath leader of the Paragon's Call, with Ashton using nothing besides his fists and his rage, to genuinely earn the man's respect. After the fight, Ratanish demands his men patch up Ashton on the spot, offers Ashton mercenary work, and even gives Ashton a few glasses of some very expensive alcohol.
  • The group saves a guard named Dunot, who manages to be a Chekhov's Gun for them by vouching that they saved his life. Upon exiting, Dunot asks Imogen who they are, and Imogen gives the group its name.
    Imogen: We're Bell's Hells. And don't you forget it.
  • Seeing his brother Cyrus get taken away, Dorian has to act fast to try and save him. Dorian uses a smoke bomb to get into the middle of Cyrus and the Greenseekers, then casts Charm Person on one. When Dorian has to make a Persuasion check to convince the Greenseeker to let go, Robbie gets advantage, and rolls a Natural 20. Right after that, Dorian casts Invisibility on Cyrus, passing a Stealth check to walk out of the party unseen. Considering that Robbie left the show at the end of the episode, it was one heck of a high note to end on.
  • Laudna chooses to do one hell of a distraction during the above, turning into her Form of Dread and rolling high enough on Intimidation to get a lot more people running. However that puts her in the target line of the guards...
    • First, Imogen refuses to leave her behind and neither does FCG. Both of them cast Calm Emotions and manage to get 6 out of 7 guards to stand down. But the one is getting more and more aggressive...
    • Cue Dunot coming in clutch, vouching for them as having saved his life and fought off attackers.

    Episode 15: The Tunnels Below 
  • Bell's Hells have to team up with the Greenseekers (the private detectives from the previous episode) in order to investigate the weird shade creepers. They need to get into a mine, and the gate is run by the ex-boyfriend of Gus (the half-orc). The party picks up on the slight tension, which leads FCG to run a therapy session for the two of them. Cue Matt having to carry a minutes-long, brilliant, improvised and unplanned conversation with himself with Sam only occasionally offering input.
    • An awesome moment for Sam, too. He could have just done nothing, but he played his character to the hilt, and he had FCG behave appropriately as a therapist. The cast expected him to be a complete troll, and he was, but they were shocked at how well he did. Turns out that Sam read Therapy For Dummies as prep for the role. Even if it was just as a joke, the fact that Sam went that far to get into character shows his dedication to the role.

  • During a battle with some shade creepers in a mine, Chetney gets a double natural 20 on one of his attack rolls.

    Episode 16: The Shade Mother 
  • Thanks to a few clutch turns, what could have been a Curb-Stomp Battle ends with Bell's Hells and the Green Seekers escaping from the Shade Mother, an Eldritch Abomination of a slug monster.
    • Fearne uses Daylight on her first turn. While it was just to light up the cavern for the people who didn't have darkvision, the shade creepers (including the Husks and the Shade Mother) all got disadvantage on their attack rolls, thanks to Sunlight Sensitivity. Fearne remarked that she totally meant to do that.
    • Fearne was on her A-Game during the fight. When the orb after getting stuck in the last bit before their escape was struck and freed by Ashton, she got a Nat 20 on her Dex Saving Throw and she ended up landing on top of the ball and rolling it out and (with another Nat 20) squash quite a few Shade Creepers.
    • Chetney uses an orb from Gus to incapacitate their target, Lady Emoth, in a ball prison, where she can't hurt anybody. Chetney even gets a Nat 20 on the attack roll to trap her.
    • After F.C.G. activates a machine, it turns out to be a drill that causes part of the cliffside to fall on Chetney, though the machine's gears keep turning even after the drill is done. Orym, thinking quickly, grabs his rope and ties it to the Shade Mother's stinger, then tosses the other end of the rope into the machinery. The result is the Shade Mother getting yanked backwards into the drill and stuck in place, allowing Bell's Hells and the Green Seekers to escape with a captive Lady Emoth.
  • After rolling a Nat 1 on an Athletics check, Imogen is just about to fall off of a cliff and hit the ground. Just before impact, she uses Misty Step to teleport and right herself on the ground, saving herself from the fall.
  • Laudna had a relatively bad night with her dice — her rolls to hit were pretty bad, and she didn't cause much damage when she did connect. At one point, after rolling a Nat 1, Marisha stood up from the table and declared that she was quitting the show. However, upon being chased by shade creepers, she took what would have been a knockout blow with Strength of the Grave, managing to just make a DC 19 check to stay up with a Last Chance Hit Point.

    Episode 17: Heart-to-Heartmoor 
  • The 7th anniversary announcement ad deserves special mention - it's Laura in exceptionally good Jester cosplay, and using Duplicity, by which we mean big name Critter cosplayer Ginny Di was brought in as another Jester (and most likely as cosplay consultant, we're sure). It's just as fantastic as it sounds.
  • Fearne dropping the fact that her grandmother is Morrigan (Too soon to say if she's like her main DND counterpart but the fact she even exists in Critical Role universe is pretty awesome!)
  • Laudna being confirmed as one of the victims killed by the Briarwoods and used as one of the corpses tied to the Sun Tree as an "invitation" for Vox Machina (as nightmare fuel inducing as it is) is a nice bit of continuity and how an NPC can become a PC as seen here.

     Episode 18: A Hungry Jungle 
  • Ashton, after being eaten by the plant, frees himself by using the handle of his hammer to break his way through the side of it.
  • Laudna goes down in battle after being eaten by the plant, but manages to get back up due to her skill and her patron.
    Delilah: Not yet. There is still so much work to be done.
  • Fresh Cut Grass and his buzzsaw gets the HDYWTDT on the plant monster, along with Matt Mercer's impressive chainsaw noises.
    F.C.G: All life is precious... but not a weed!

     Episode 19: Omens Above 
  • After learning that her mother may be Ruidusborn — a child born when the moon of Ruidus was having a particularly violent storm — Imogen has her one of her Recurring Dreams of the red storm approaching. But this time, instead of heeding her mother's call to run from the storm, Imogen declares that she's Tired of Running and walks into it.

     Episode 20: Breaking and Entering... 
  • FCG manages to make use of Locate Object to help locate the the earring, in spite of never having actually seen the earring in person, but because he had a detailed description of it.

     Episode 21: Fight at the Museum... 
  • Ashley was not present at the table due to testing positive for COVID-19 — though she was asymptomatic, Ashley wasn't present for the safety of everyone involved. The rest of the cast rolled for Fearne instead, with one particular Acrobatics check from Marisha scoring a Natural 20 for Fearne to avoid being grappled by a clay golem.
  • Orym had a lot of really good Acrobatics checks himself. He rolled his own Nat 20 to leap in the air, slide between two of his teammate's legs, and attack a clay golem with a Goading Attack, all in the same turn. Once the threat had passed, he also rolled a total of 26 to grab the Immovable Rod where it had been stuck by the Verdict, leaping over a pit to deactivate the rod and stash it all in one swift motion.
    • He also got the HDYWTDT on the second clay warden.
  • Bell's Hells did what no one else had ever done before: successfully robbed Hydroga's museum and escaped. He rewarded them with a magical selfie, albeit one where Bell's Hells was beat up, burnt, and ragged. Unbeknownst to Hydroga, they also made off with one of his exhibits (a journal of evil), a pair of magic glasses, and a secret stash of magical papers. The latter two were almost stolen by the Verdict, but Ashton managed to do what they couldn't and pick the lock to open the drawer containing them. It was said that Ashton accomplished this through sheer spite, as Ashton was so pissed off at Hydroga nearly getting both teams killed for his own amusement that Ashton just had to hurt him in some way.
    • Taliesin explained in an interview that Ashton has a code.
    Taliesin: You don’t fuck with a deal. You fuck with a deal, [there’s a] new deal and I get to decide what it is.
  • With the success of the heist, Bells Hells reaches level 6!

    Episode 22: Promise and Potential 
  • As stated before, Bells Hells reached level 6 upon succeeding with the heist. And as part of that, it’s revealed early on that not only did Chetney take a level in Rogue, but so did Fearne. Now the party has two Rogues, where before they had none.
  • Fresh Cut Grass has a mostly private meeting with a curious Jiana Hexum, and finally stands up for themselves. They politely, but firmly, make it clear that they don't like being randomly poked and prodded. They leave on this note.
    F.C.G: I guess just because you have a soul, doesn't mean you know how to use it well. Well, have a smiley day!
  • Bell's Hells receive a letter from Lady Vex'ahlia de Rolo, thanking them for returning Bertrand's body to Whitestone for remembrance and burial.
  • We finally have a full map of Marquet, and it is gorgeous.

    Episode 23: To the Skies 
  • Laudna and Imogen saving Orym after he is knocked overboard, with Laudna casting Feather Fall — after Marisha passes a high Perception roll because Laudna was hiding beneath a staircase when this was all going down — and Imogen casting Fly on herself before going out and grab him.

    Episode 24: The Hellcatch Valley 
  • Early in the episode, Orym spots a giant beast in the sands heading to attack a traveling caravan. The Hells and the crew of the airship are quick to act, harpooning what turns out to be a 100ft sand squid holding it in place long enough for Imogen to fly down and command it to stop long enough to figure out what it's pissed about. Then on Fearne's suggestion they use the ship and a handy Feather Fall from Laudna to LIFT the giant squid out of the sand and away from the caravan.

    Episode 25: A Taste of Tal'Dorei 
  • There's a new intro! Still set to the melody of "It's Thursday Night", it pays homage to previous intros. It has the cast partially cosplaying as their characters like the first two Vox Machina openings and is animated (like the Mighty Nein opening, but with a more realistic style). Matt is shown with his book as NPCs flash around him, like the end of Your Turn to Roll.

    Episode 28: The Deathwish Run 
  • Imogen gets the first HDYWTDI of the race with a lightning bolt, rolling well above average in damage. She shoots it through 3 racers and their car, taking care of the lot of them.
  • Orym leaps onto another cart during the race, trips the driver, then uses Action Surge to uppercut them off of the cart and into the sand, taking control of it away from a very shocked goblin who was riding with him.
    Orym: 'Sup?
  • The cast finally discovers that Dusk is not who they say they are! Erika's narration of their transformation into their standard form is wonderfully evocative, and dripping with pure glee.
    • Travis was the only one to figure out that Dusk was working an angle, and thanks to a whisper from Matt in the previous episode, was able to have Chetney figure it out without metagaming. Which is brilliant, because he has some experience in hiding a big secret from the rest of the cast.

    Episode 29: Dark Portents 
  • Immediately picking up where the cliffhanger went off, there is an extremely tense standoff between “Dusk” (true name now being Yu Suffiad), Birdie, and Bells Hells. And it’s not long before it eventually leads to an initiative roll. But while Yu is repeatedly injured, they don’t make any moves to attack the party.
    • Just the entire standoff in general and its eventual conclusion, where Yu acquiesces to giving their marks a month to resolve what Birdie is hesitant to fully reveal in front of the Unseelie.
  • After all of Yu’s manipulations, Laudna’s had enough of the mind games, and directly shuts them up, even comparing her to Delilah.
    Laudna: We are a comfortable family! Yes, we’re a group of oddballs, but we could all trust each other before you came along!
    Yu: Don’t you have a lady in your head that talks to you?
    Laudna: ...yes. Yes, I do, and she sounds a lot like you!
    Yu: Because we have similar accents?

    Episode 30: Reunion & Revelation 
  • The party are waylaid by a gang of marauders on a large automaton with a large multi-barreled gun called the Kshatriya. Pretending to accede to their demands, Imogen places a backpack containing a bomb that was leftover from the Deathwish Run on one of the legs of the automaton and detonates it for massive damage to the automaton and to all its occupants.
  • After combat starts, Imogen fires a Lightning Bolt spell at the occupants and the gun itself. The initial attack immediately kills one enemy and detonates all the ammunition in the gun simultaneously. The ensuing carnage causes the gun to fire hundreds of rounds wildly with 5 shots each going to everyone in front of it, friend and foe. When the dust settles the Kshatriya is destroyed and 3 gang members are dead with numerous others heavily wounded. That was all in the first round.

     Episode 31: Breaking Point 
  • Ashton suspects, on a simple hunch, that Fearne's parents had their memories modified by Ira. Imogen and F.C.G probe into Ollie's mind and prove he was entirely correct.
  • Marisha rolls a Nat 20, leading Laudna to deal 50 damage onto F.C.G., with her nearly getting a HDYWTDT.
    • For context, F.C.G. was at full health when the attack happened. It dropped them down to 6 hp.
  • Orym lays into the party with a blistering The Reason You Suck speech, telling all of them to do better, and to work as a team. Chat immediately compared him to Steve Rogers and called him Captain Exandria.

     Episode 33: Blood and Dust 
  • Laudna fails two Death Saving throws, and on the final one, rolls a Nat 20. Delilah whispers to Laudna and tells her to get back up.
  • Sam sees that the rest of the party other than Chetney can potentially flee and Travis confirms that he'll be fine. Taliesin snarks that "that's code for 'Travis wants a new character'". Travis's response?
  • Imogen breaks, with her hair flying around as she screams into the sky. She then changes the landscape around them to the one in her dreams. Otohan, watching delightedly, encourages Imogen to give in to the power inside of her.
  • Otohan shows she deserves her reputation, utterly wrecking the party in an unplanned confrontation that takes out two party members through her tactical awareness of the situation and capitalizing flaws in the party's strategy.
  • Otohan gets in a rare chilling example of Leaning on the Fourth Wall when she impales Laudna. She turns to Imogen, with Laudna's unconscious body run through on her sword, and smirks "Your turn." And she's correct about the turn order.

     Episode 34: What Dreams May Come 
  • F.C.G manages to save Fearne with an exact DC of 10. Fearne awakens in a dark dimension lit with a sickly green crescent moon and a horde of hungry eyes glaring at her as she's tethered to something unseen. F.C.G's voice calls out to her and makes a ladder of light, which she grabs onto immediately. She hesitates about coming back only for a second, before saying "Well, I don't think I'm ready for that part yet." She triumphantly comes back to life as the unseen forces howl in defeat.
  • Imogen attempting to confront Delilah after Laudna dies. It needs to be emphasized that Imogen doesn't just attempt intercession with Delilah Briarwood — Imogen outright threatens Delilah over Laudna's life. Imogen contacts Delilah, the de facto high priestess of Vecna, on another plane, using a simple Sending spell, and gets a response. Delilah Briarwood barely considered Vox Machina at the height of their strength to be worthy opponents, but Imogen's impotent threats get an immediate reply.
    Imogen: I know you're there, you bitch. I know you still want her. [...] Get your ass down here and bring her back!
    • When Imogen informs Fearne about their conversation, Fearne is quick to agree with Imogen on their hatred for Delilah.
    Imogen: She's still too fucking weak.
    Fearne: (flipping the coin) That fucking bitch.
  • Joe manages to bluff the Paragon's Call searching his shop for the Hells, keeping them out of sight and unnoticed.
  • Xandis and the Silver Sun answers Imogen's call and fly out to rescue the Hells. While the crawlers on the ground start taking fire at the ship, it's noted to be just fast enough to get out of range with minimal damage.
  • F.C.G casts Gentle Repose on Laudna, a spell that causes the target to become protected from decay and prevents them from becoming undead. Cue Letters getting a sense that the spell "definitely headed something off at the pass", according to Matt. Whatever plans Delilah may have had for Laudna, F.C.G. may have just saved her from those plans, and subsequent damnation.

     Episode 35: Pyrrhic Return 
  • Bell's Hells successfully turn Treshi over to the authorities. A small thing on the face of it, but it shows that their trip to Bassuras wasn't for nothing. The reward didn't hurt: between Lord Eshteross and the city, they earned well over ten thousand gold pieces.
  • And for the moment so many Critters have waited for ever since the start of Campaign 2: we get a crossover! The Hells meet Keyleth at the end of the episode, and she takes them to Whitestone. Matt plays her, as she is technically an NPC, and he ably shows both how Keyleth has changed from her time as Voice of the Tempest, and also how she is still the Keyleth we knew.

     Episode 36: A Desperate Call 
  • When Percy refuses to help resurrect Laudna and storms off, Ashton goes after him. We are then treated to Taliesin telling off one of his previous PCs, baring a bit of Ashton's soul as he does, and reminding the audience that the Lord of Whitestone and the kid from Bassuras are not so different.
    • He uses reason and logic to go along with the anger, pointing out that Laudna has come to the centre of something big, and that even Delilah recognized that she was special. It didn't work, but points for going so far out of his comfort zone to try.
    • Percy also deserves mention here for taking the rant in stride, stating in no uncertain terms that while he's open to the possibility of Laudna being resurrected he will not allow Delilah Briarwood even a chance to return and harm his family, and closing with a classic one-liner:
      Percy: We're all small fish in a big, big pond. Make some waves.
  • In their spirit forms when Ashton rages, he starts glowing iridescent colors.
  • As they ward off the shadowy creatures, Imogen utters: “You fucked with her in life, you’re not fucking her in death!”

     Episode 37: From the Boughs 
  • As the episode starts, Bells Hells' logo appears, with a red moon at the bottom of the "B".
  • In order to escape the barn, Chetney uses his Crimson Rite to light a stick of dynamite he had and tosses it at the vines. As the vines engulf the stick, it seems to have had no effect... and then a large explosion happens, leaving enough room for the Hells to escape.
  • Imogen and Fearne both make some impressive threats towards Delilah.
    Imogen: We're coming for you, Delilah.
    Fearne: We made a promise, bitch.
  • Chetney manages to get a read on whether or not Delilah is bullshitting them with a high Insight check roll. Matt gives him a whisper. He later rolls a Nat 20 on a Deception check to trick Delilah into letting the Hells speak with Laudna's spirit.
  • Delilah yanks Laudna away after dangling her in front of her friends. Imogen, breathing heavily through her teeth, growls this one liner at her.
    Imogen: Delilah Briarwood... we're gonna sunder you.
  • F.C.G. uses Spiritual Weapon and summons a large Pâté to swipe at Delilah.
    • F.C.G's timely (and first ever) use of Turn Undead vaporizes four of Delilah's five summoned skeletons, which would have given Delilah valuable support and could have turned out bad if not for this cast.
  • Orym rolls a Nat 1 and then rolls again for a Nat 20.
  • Despite Delilah being significantly weaker than she was during her prime, she still manages some hefty damages and spells that had the Hells on ropes. At one point she summons a horde of undead by blowing a kiss. She even manages to take out Orym and F.C.G. during the whole fight.
  • Orym manages to climb up onto the tree and hack away at some branches to get to Laudna. He manages to do a significant amount of damage to the tree.
    • While Orym is up there, Delilah tries to yank him down, forcing him to make a Strength save to try to hold onto the branches. Liam laments that Orym's Strength is terrible and that he'll never make it... And then rolls a natural 20.
      Liam: (double birds at the map) FUCK YOU, DELILAH!
  • Fearne was essential for the Hells to win the battle. First, she casts Earthbound on Delilah (shaped like a noose around her neck), denying her ability to fly and granting the melee attackers the possibility to hit her. Then, she realizes thanks to Little Mister that Delilah and the copy of the Sun Tree are connected, and she spends the rest of the fight greatly damaging Delilah's weak point with Scorching Ray, obtaining double damage every time as the tree is weak to fire and unable to save against the spell.
    Fearne: Oh. Is this hurting you?
  • During the battle, Imogen draws power from Ruidus, and in exchange for taking damage, Delilah gets damaged as well.
  • Imogen decides to "empty the clip" and pours all of her energy into attacking the Sun Tree. With 33 points of lightning damage, Laura gets a HDYWTDT. The tree splits down the middle and Delilah lets out a Big "NO!" as her form dissipates in a flash of white. Once again, after Vex, a Laura Bailey character kills Delilah - even sweeter revenge in that Vax was similarly disintegrated by Delilah.

     Episode 38: A Dark Balance 
  • While it's a terrifying situation for Laudna as she just came back, the Lord and Lady of Whitestone were not remotely complicit with the shadow of a chance that Delilah might hitch a ride after all—and, naturally, Vex was not in fact going behind her husband's back to help with a resurrection ritual. When Laudna arrives, she's met with:
    • Vex, trained on her the whole time unblinking with Fenthras drawn.
    "I mean this with all due respect, do not move."
    • Pike, holy symbol at the ready, Turn Undead on a hair trigger.
    • Two invisible Paleguard in each corner of the room, waiting for their lady's word.
    • Then the door opens, revealing almost the entire Whitestone rifle corps and remaining Paleguard with the bakery completely surrounded, guns at the ready.
    • And, of course, Percy on a distant sniper perch with the crosshairs of Bad News drawing a bead on her forehead. He wasn't kidding when he said he'd take no chances with Delilah.
  • Crossing over with Funny and Heartwarming: Laudna's experiences during death, specifically the part where they saw the creation of Pate, saw her absorb a teeny tiny piece of the Hells' lifeforce. She put it into Pate, which allowed her to bring him to life! He is now her familiar! And he can fly! And he's voiced by Matt (hence the Funny, because the personality is completely intact)!
  • From the small amount of blood on Eshteross' cane carrying the scent Chetney is familiar with, it's implied Eshteross managed to wound Otohan before he went down.
     Episode 41: Call of the Wild 
  • Though it becomes to be a problem for the characters Chetney's enhanced werewolf form proves to be a beast in more ways than one. He gets legendary actions!
  • Laudna makes a power move in the fight, casting Darkness over the hole in the cavern's ceiling, blocking the moonlight. This causes Chetney to revert to his normal werewolf form!
  • Ashton gets frightened, and stays that way due to poor roles and a bad wisdom modifier, but he still manages to find a way to be an effective brawler around it. He steps out of his hiding place and directly challenges Chetney to come at him, making himself a target on purpose, and nails the intimidation check to snap Chetney out of it!
    "Through all the appeals to emotion, all the appeals to find friendly connection, all chipping away at this boundary until eventually, the wall that the spirit that has possessed you has put between your and your companions through this trial, through the crack in the middle of this central barrier, another beast meets you eye to eye"
    • Ashton also uses a new ability they got after leveling up: Hyper Rage. The distortion around them becomes so intense they become a red and blue blur, and they rocket across the room at 80 feet per turn.

     Episode 46: Night at the Ligament Manor 
  • As the party is discussing what they learned from Ludinus, they debate on whether they should stop him, since several of them agree with his points about the gods. Ashton, however, offers some surprising insight. To Ashton, a good argument means nothing, since "any asshole can make a good argument" about what they believe. It's actions that matter, and no matter how much of a point Ludinus has or how worthy his cause might be, he and his followers have still killed many innocent people. Whatever the reason might be, that reason doesn't justify mass murder. Plus, Fearne and Imogen witnessed Ludinus render a teacher magically brain-dead just for refusing to give up information, and that's worth opposing.
  • Admittedly it was very much an overkill with Imogen even having to use up a Sorcery Point to pull it off, but the Combination Attack with Imogen's Witch Bolt, Fearne's Scorching Ray, and Laudna's dual Eldritch Blasts is a sight to behold when it targets one poor centaur.
    • Even better, thanks to Imogen using that Sorcery Point, this allows her to exhale fog that allows the Bells Hells to traverse in the fog.

     Episode 47: The Fey Key 
  • The Hells successfully destroy one of the Malleus Keys! Orym plants a stick of dynamite inside the machine while Laudna, Imogen and Fearne all hit the arcane cores on the outside with enough spells to overload and shatter them, creating a massive explosion and reducing the entire thing to unsalvageable scrap.
  • As they're making their escape, Fearne and Laudna are caught just outside the gatehouse, and won't make it in before the fey dragon in pursuit of them gets to shoot its beam attack again, likely knocking both of them out. Imogen and Ashton manage to save them by chaining their abilities — Imogen uses Telekinetic Shove to push Laudna closer to Ashton, who then uses their Gravity Well ability to pull both Laudna and Fearne 10 feet towards them and into the gatehouse.

     Episode 48: An Exit Most Fraught 
  • The fey dragon proves to be a massive problem for the group — low HP and with a limited time left on the cloaks that keep them hidden. Out of desperation, Imogen casts Sending to beg Nana Morri for help, but receives no response... Before the fey dragon is suddenly tackled out of the sky by the massive, hawk-like beast form of Nana.

     Episode 49: The Aurora Grows 
  • Once again, Ashton refuses to believe that killing untold amounts of people is somehow going to create a utopia, talking everybody back from the idea that Villain Has a Point by reminding them that for all of their trauma or valid points, it doesn't excuse their actions.
    Ashton: See, this is what happens when you start externalizing every fucking problem that you have. Easy to take a look at. There's a bunch of people who are treating other people like... just like they're fucking nothing. Like they're fucking pawns. It doesn't matter what the fuck they want, they're doing it wrong. It is not hard to see. You're being fucked with. We're all being fucked with. Whatever the fuck they say that they're doing, that's where I draw the line. If they had such a great idea of what the world was supposed to be and what that thing was, they could just tell people. But instead, they're making everybody miserable. They're killing people. Fuck that, fuck them, and I will be more than happy to drop a fucking ship on them. [...] It's easy to make a nice world if you keep killing everybody who fucking disagrees with you. If you can get down to five, it'll be amazing. Fucking utopia.
  • Orym shuts down Imogen's attempts to justify what Otohan and the Ruby Vanguard are attempting to do in one sentence by reminding her that his lover and father in law were murdered in order to create this perfect world.
  • During the air travel to the Hellcatch Valley, Fearne trivializes a likely difficult encounter with a phoenix-like creature by polymorphing it into a goldfish. While the cast feared the goldfish would simply return to its form by falling onto the airship, Matt reminded them that, being in the middle of a sandstorm, the goldfish was swept away by the winds and just ceased being a threat.

     Episode 50: Red Moon Rising 
  • After a fight with some Vanguard members, an unseen figure pulls Imogen away and asks who she is and why she's fighting the Vanguard. It's Beauregard Lionett from Campaign 2! And she brought Caleb with her! As expected, they've been following Ludinus for a long time.

     Episode 51: The Apogee Solstice 
  • F.C.G. manages to hijack one of the Warders, the massive automatons that guard the Malleus Key, and pilot it like a mech suit.
  • While it doesn't work, it was ballsy as hell: In the middle of Ludinus's speech, Chetney scales the tower, shifts into his wolven form, and tries to leap onto Ludinus's back.
    Chetney: You said something about natural predators?
  • Keyleth makes her big appearance in the battle, healing the Hells... only for Ludinus to cast Power Word Stun on her. Otohan rushes for her, and nearly kills her in 1 round. This causes Vax to appear, putting himself between his love and her enemy... only for that to be exactly what Ludinus had intended the entire time. Vax was coalesced into a ball of divine energy, which was the final piece his engine needed. He set off a trap over a decade in the making, the culmination of a plan he had been working towards for 1000 years, and he won.
  • Despite having countless contingencies and plans to take on some of the most powerful characters in the setting, ancient artifacts, his own magical power, and a small army of fanatical followers, Ludinus' victory still seems to have been narrower than he would admit. Bell's Hells really did pitch quite a few setbacks his way. Sabotaging the anti-magic pulses, almost compromising one of his most powerful generals, killing a bunch of his followers with a plummeting airship, and sabotaging his power sources such that he had to personally power the Malleus Key. Despite his fanaticism and declarations of fate, Bell's Hells actions left him audibly shaken and desperate when he began to enact the final phase of his plan.

     Episode 53: Ripples 
  • A clutch Charm spell from Fearne calmed the monster long enough for F.C.G. to communicate with it. This allowed them to discover that it had awoken from stasis confused, and that its actions were ultimately in self-defense. This in turn allowed the Hells and their allies to get it out of Uthodurn with no further harm to anyone. Doubles as Heartwarming.

     Episode 59: Somewhere Out There 
  • Prism (played by Emily Axford) emerged as the MVP of Team Issylra's first fight. She used her subclass ability (Manifest Mind from the Order of Scribes wizard subclass) to hit all three arboreal creatures with Steel Wind Strike, and she had advantage on all three strikes. She got a Natural 20 on two of the three opponents doing a combined total of 145 damage in a single turn. Many viewers joked that Matt now knows what she puts Brennan through note .
    • On her next round, she used Manifest Mind to get her living spellbook to phase inside of the monster that swallowed Orym, and cast Dimension Door to get him out.
    • She also sent her raven familiar to flank the monster fighting Deni$e. It couldn't hurt the creature, but it counts as setting up a flank for the purposes of a rogue's Sneak Attack, and Deni$e is a multiclassed barbarian/rogue.

     Episode 61: Crisis of Faith 
  • Bor'Dor getting a HDYWTDT by shooting his crossbow and then stabbing his enemy in the throat with his dagger.
    Orym: Where's your god now?
  • Laudna gets mildly triggered in the battlefield, being reminded of what she lived through under the Briarwoods. However, she takes that pain and summons a Hound of Ill Omen from her chest through her Form of Dread and sets them onto a guard.
    Laudna: Sic 'em.
  • Prism manages to get some blood to summon her demon. It's uncontrollable and angered, but she manages to make the demon listen to her and do her bidding.
  • Ashton, unaware that Elder Abaddina's summoned earth elemental has since been freed from her control and has become unpredictable, convinces it to throw them at the Dawnborn Angel. It lobs them with a natural 20, turning the genasi into a rainbow of violence that then deals a total of 45 damage to the Angel.
  • Bor'Dor getting the second HDYWTDT on the Celestial. As his Inflict Wounds takes hold, he kisses the angelic being on their forehead as it brings them to an end.
    Bor'Dor: Enough.

     Episode 62: A Long Walk of Reflection 
  • Despite being a bit of a joke from the party, Matt has the three familiars talk amongst themselves complete with their wildly different voices (and avian croaking).

     Episode 63: A Haunted Past 
  • Utkarsh Ambudkar played the long game with Bor'dor: it turns out he was Ruby Vanguard all along, and had been sent to kill the Hells from the beginning. He did such a good job of Obfuscating Stupidity that, while many fans and the players suspected he was hiding something, most believed his Endearingly Dorky persona was genuine. Nope. He's a vengeful, tired Nay-Theist, and his final scene is one of the most emotional in the campaign so far.
  • Laudna is the one to finish Bor'dor off, using a combination of Form of Dread, Hunger of the Shadow, and Wither and Bloom to drain the life from him and reduce him to ash.
    Laudna: I'm sorry, Bor'dor. But I can't have anybody else betray me.

     Episode 64: Reunited 
  • Bells Hells reached level 10 prior to this episode!
  • The Hells reunite, and the table has ten people around it for the first time since the Vecna fight. The cast and Matt make it work with seemingly no effort.
  • The Hells catch each other up on what happened during the split. Deanna wasn't happy to hear about what Team Issylra had done in regards to the temple of the Dawnfather, so she quietly split off and set up a Commune spell with the Dawnfather. Her first question was if working with the Hells would help. He wasn't sure. She asked him if some of his servants were hurting people with his blessing. They did what they did for the greater good. Then the third question.
    Deanna: Are you worth saving?
  • Crossing over with Heartwarming, the reveal that Keyleth did not fall from her wounds. She’s still alive. Badly hurt with wounds that aren’t closing, but alive. It’s true what the fans have been saying: “The only one who can truly kill Keyleth is herself.”

     Episode 65: A Path of Vengeance 
  • Fearne is barely able to keep up with Chetney when he is lured into the bounty hunter's trap. The hunter tells her to stay away. It's just her and Orym, who is still trying to catch up, and for all anyone knows there are more enemies lying in wait. He barely gets to finish his sentence before she hits him with Blight.
    • She proves to be the fight's MVP. Chetney is bound for most of it, and Orym does well at first but succumbs to a Charm spell. Meanwhile, Fearne does an impressive amount of damage and manages to trick the hunter into letting her get close enough to cast Stoneskin on Chetney by requesting a parting kiss. She then uses Mister to teleport Chetney out of the net and further down the alley, giving him the chance to turn invisible and force the bounty hunter to cut and run.

     Episode 66: Aid of the Tempest 
  • Fearne was the MVP for two episodes in a row. The Hells were up against some particularly dangerous seeming undead, so she cast Aura of Life. It gives resistance to necrotic damage and prevents the hit point loss that powerful necrotic effects can induce. Matt's pained expression said it all. Especially since he was rolling really well.
    Matt: That turned a brutal fight into a difficult one.

     Episode 67: Bloody Flowers 
  • Fearne continues her MVP streak. She's the one who finally takes down their opponent and is able to get FCG in position to save Imogen and Laudna.
  • FCG was barely able to get in position to save Imogen and Laudna thanks to seeing an opening in the wall. By casting Healing word, he was able to get Imogen up long enough to prevent the big guy from getting a reaction off and then was able to get both spellcasters out of there with Invisibility.
  • Orym made a lot of key plays during the battle by using four consecutive Fighter disarming attacks to deprive the nalfeshnee demon leader of its magical greatsword and literally jumping off the Iridon Bastion's tower after it in a desperate plunging sword attack to save Imogen.

    Episode 69: Nice 
  • FCG finally destroys Shithead.

     Episode 70: Embattled in Bassuras 
  • Orym ends up in combat with one of the Paragon's Call members in the back of Joe's shop, where two broken Skirmishers are awaiting repair. With some quick thinking and lucky rolls, he manages to lasso the Paragon's Call member to one of the broken bikes, then hits one of the arcane cores so hard it explodes, which sets off the second arcane core. This maneuver deals a total of 24d6 damage and reduces the thug to minced meat.
  • With some quick thinking, Ashton, Orym and Imogen manage to save Joe and Verna from falling 60 feet onto a spiked iron fence. Ashton uses their wormhole teleportation to catch Joe in mid-air and cushion his fall with their body, Orym uses his Boots of Striding and Springing to flea-jump off the fence and do the same to Verna, and Imogen uses Telekinesis to bend the fence backwards so they land on the sloped side and not the razor-sharp spikes on top.
  • Thanks to a clutch Banishment spell, FCG was able to keep General Ratanish from wrecking everyone in Joe's workshop. This let them set up to kill the second-in-command of the Paragon's Call, with Ashton getting the final blow with a Pre-Mortem One-Liner thrown in.
    Ashton: You really should have killed me that time.

    Episode 75: An Ancient Flame 
  • Ashton and Fearne diving into the lava and emerging with the shard they need.
  • The fight that follows the above was an epic moment for Orym and Launda.
    • For Orym:
      • On his first turn, he was able to kill one of the Reilora that Imogen was able to pull into the lava, then used Seedling to pull one of the humans into the lava, thanks to the fact he picked up a third attack as an 11th Level fighter.
      • On his next turn, he attacked and pushed the other Reliora into the lava, and with six strikes, thanks to Action Surge, killed him.
    • For Launda:
      • Everyone knew the strategy was to use the Teleport Staff to get out, but they also knew Counterspell was a threat, so it became a battle of how to prevent that. When Ludinus launched a 9th level spell, Marisha used Counterspell herself, and needed a 19 to counter it. With her bonuses, that meant she needed to roll at least a 14 on her d20 to counter it. Marisha rolled, and got a 14, exactly enough to counter the spell. Matt then tried to have Ludinus use counterspell of his own. He needed a 13 to succeed, and got a 12, failing by one point.note 
        Liam: TAKE YOUR NINTH LEVEL SPELL AND SHOVE IT UP YOUR ASS!
  • In the middle of all of this, Fearne got captured, and the second plan was to force him to break concentration. Imogen finally got him to drop it with a well-timed Lightning Bolt.

    Episode 77: The Promise and the Price 
  • Ashton attempts to absorb the shard of Rau'shan, despite numerous warnings that this is a very bad idea. When Taliesin quips that Matt probably saw this coming, Matt replies that he didn't. Ashton has to survive 10 rounds of Constitution saves and fire damage, his Rage not helping and healing potions instantly evaporating before he can drink them. He ultimately succeeds, briefly turning Ashton into a being with the essence of two Titans, something that shouldn't exist.
    • Fearne and F.C.G help keep him up with round-by-round healing with Cure Wounds (which damages them from the heat each time), one Death Ward, Aura of Life and Aura of Vitality (which require a concentration check every time they take damage from the heat).
    • Even with that, one failed save sees Ashton blown apart... and saved by the Ring of Temporal Salvation. This one item (which Chetney received from Deana and traded to Ashton) was the difference between success and death.
    • While it ultimately failed, it's a sign of how dire the situation was, and how committed F.C.G was to helping, that he attempted his first Divine Intervention.
    • Matt implied afterwards that any failed Con save would've resulted in instant death, meaning Ashton survived by passing 9 out of 10 saves (the DC was 10 for the first and 15 for the later ones and he has a high Con modifier, but a single Natural 1 and it would've all been over)

    Episode 78: Fractures 
  • Ashton doesn't end up getting any powers from the Shard as he hacks it back up almost immediately, permanently losing two points of Constitution in the process. However, Matt does tell him that a) the fact that he survived at all is a feat in and of itself, and b) something inside Ashton seems to have awakened in the process, likely kickstarting the process of him being able to channel the Shard of Ka'mort.

    Episode 80: A Test of Trust 
  • Fearne decided to absorb Raushan's shard after all, and the Hells and Nana Morri are supportive. The process was difficult, though not quite as dangerous as when Ashton tried it, and in the end she survived (thanks to help from FCG, Ashton, and some clutch healing from Fearne herself). She gained a flame based Super Mode, the details of which are mostly unknown to the audience (being on a sheet Matt passed to Ashley) but strongly impressed her, Taliesin, and Laura. We do know that she can deal fire damage to creatures that touch her without her permission.
    • Doing this allowed her to fully awaken the shard of Ka'Mort within Ashton, granting him an earth based Super Mode of his own. Judging by the reactions, this one is as impressive as Fearne's. They can merge with the earth itself to some degree, but we didn't get a chance to fully see it in action. It's worth pointing out that future uses of these abilities will trigger some kind of penalty, but not this time as it is part of the bonding process, but they do last for an hour.
    • Using his Sympathetic Binding feature and the ability Scatttered Vigour, FCG allows Fearne to regain hit points for several rounds in exchange for Ashton taking necrotic damage (which they accept), though repeated use of this feature does result in FCG accruing enough stress points that he ends up flying into a berserker rage. Unlike last time, however, he is able to warn the others in time for them to take the necessary steps to counter this: Ashton prepares to grapple him, Chetney uses Blood Curse of Binding to pin him in place, and Nana Morri silences his enraged ranting; once Fearne has successfully absorbed the shard, Chetney drops the binding effect and Orym uses a full turn worth of attacks to nonlethally push FCG away from the group long enough for him to make a wisdom save and regain composure.

    Episode 81: The Eve of the Red Moon 
  • For the assault on the forces guarding the Bloody Bridge, Bell's Hells meet the people planning the whole thing. The entire time they are urging Percy to have his newest invention ready for it. When they begin, Matt describes Percy's inventions as large armored carriages, not propelled by beasts of burden and running on their own power. No Mercy Percy invented rudimentary tanks, and they are marching to war.

    Episode 85: Intense Interrogations 
  • Fearne and FCG are caught by Otohan, and Otohan tries to compel Fearne by attacking FCG. In desperation, he tries to cast Banishment on her. She fails the roll but uses a Legendary Resistance. In a moment of inspired brilliance, Sam double checks the spell and realizes that he can cast it on up to three creatures. He also casts it on FCG and Fearne. Matt, stunned, allows it. This gives Fearne and FCG the time they need to return to cloud form before returning to Ruidus so they can escape.

    Episode 86: Doorways to Darker Depths 
  • The gate that Fearne discovered does indeed go to Exandria. There is a back door to Ruidus that the Vanguard doesn't know about. Leading an army through isn't really practical, at least at the moment, but is ideal for a powerful strike team or two. Or three, once the Hells gain a few more levels.

    Episode 87: Arrival at Kreviris 
  • Orym engages a juggernaut. He launches into a rapid flurry of attacks with action surge, dealing a total of 75 damage in a single turn. After Orym subsequently increases his AC, the juggernaut acts next, deciding to attack Orym — which misses. Orym immediately uses a maneuver to riposte, scoring a counter hit that kills the juggernaut via gutting it like a fish.

    Episode 88: Seeking Sedition 
  • Through a clutch Darkness spell from Laudna, Bell's Hells managed to very narrowly evade capture. Even when one of the guards' pet Slither found Imogen and started to chew on her, the group managed to stay completely silent while Fearne transformed into an identical creature to trick the guards while Orym quietly killed it.
  • The end of the episode marks the completion of one of the Hells's main goals: to make contact with the Volition. Their leader, Rashina, leads them down into the underground heart of Kreviris — a gigantic city under the surface, built around a massive spire of Ruidian glass.
    Rashina: What we want is in there; The five minds that have enslaved us for hundreds of years. The glowing heart of this city. We aim to bring it down.

     Episode 89: Divisive Portents 
  • Imogen tries reaching out to Liliana in her dreams. She succeeds, and tries to talk her into switching sides. Liliana refuses, gives many excuses, and reiterates that she always just wanted Imogen to run. Imogen finally has enough and ends the conversation with a line that makes it clear that she's done trying to talk her mother out of her nonsense.
    Imogen: Maybe it's your turn to run.

    Episode 91: True Heroism 
  • Team Demolition is cornered in an alleyway by Zathuda on Gloamglut the fey dragon. Ashton's solution to this is to break down the nearest wall, run through the building, then break through the wall on the other side.
    • When they try the same thing on a different building they overdo it just a little bit, and with a natural 20, they cause the entire two-story structure to collapse with a single hit.
  • Bell's Hells versus Otohan. One of the most intense fights of the campaign.
    • The sheer amount of natural 20's rolled on both sides are ridiculous. Orym crits five times in his first two rounds, Ashton crits a few times and does heaps of damage now that they have access to Brutal Critical, and Imogen comes back from unconsciousness with a natural 20 on a death save. Vice versa, Otohan hits nearly every attack she makes, and crits just about every other round.
    • Orym's first move is to attack Otohan's backpack, damaging it enough that Imogen is able to tear it off her back before she's able to use any of her shadow duplicates. This one move reduced Otohan's attack power from six attacks per turn to a mere four, prevented her from using her teleportation to switch with her duplicates, and made winning the fight remotely possible in the first place.
    • In a villainous moment of awesome, Bell's Hells pushing Otohan to her own breaking point forces her to unleash her "Exaltant Form". Mechanically, this makes her a mythic creature on par with CR25 Greatwyrms, Medusas and even gods like Bahamut or Tiamat. Physically, the group describes her as going "Super Saiyan", which doesn't do it justice. Otohan regained both Action Surge features, Legendary Resistances and got resistance to all damage, so when she regained health she regained twice that amount.
    • With four of the Hells unconscious and the rest cripplingly low on health and resources, F.C.G. enters into a rage. This one is unlike any other rage they've ever experienced before, giving them clarity. They finally realize that they are alive, and it's because of the Hells. They blow up their own core and rush right into Otohan, taking her out at the cost of their own life. Doubles as both Heartwarming and Tear Jerker.
      • While it's unknown how many hit point Otohan had, Matt likely forwent combat rules to make sure she died, the Hells were safe, and the sacrifice was not in vain. In-universe, the fact that the blast radius that Matt asked Sam about never came into play and that Otohan/Letters took the full brunt of the impact could also be seen as one last gift from the Changebringer to her faithful and his loved ones. It was, after all, her Guiding Bolt that they used for this Blaze of Glory.
      • As a further testament to Matt's improv skills, it took him a little bit to figure out exactly how much damage setting off a point blank high explosive would do in this circumstance because he never expected Sam to pull a stunt like this. All the while, he (like the rest of the table) is holding back tears at what is about to happen.

     Episode 92: Broken Roads 
  • The Hells meet Liliana, and while none of them really buy her perspective, they get some fantastic Armor Piercing Questions and Responses in. Orym, Ashton, and Imogen have some excellent moments, and Ashton in particular gives her a blistering "The Reason You Suck" Speech.
    Ashton: I know self-delusion when I see it. I've known it myself. You're in; clearly you're in, and you're gonna think you're gonna be careful, but I think your worst fear is probably my worst fear and we've just got a fuckin' sample of it. I want you to think about that, and think very carefully when things start to go wrong—and they will for you. Will you hear the mental cries of your daughter when Ludinus finally decides it's time to murder her on Exandria? Do you think that'll break through, or do you think you're gonna be surprised?
