Episode 1: The Draw of Destiny
  • After a year and a half, the team are finally back around the same table.
  • Imogen and Laudna's first introduction is the two walking into town arm in arm. Whatever the two have been through, they're clearly close.
    • After Imogen reads her letter and finds out she's been rejected, Laudna tries to cheer her up by finding out what other ways they can apply.
    • Imogen tries to use a mind-reading ability that accidentally picks up voices from a nearby crowd and gives Imogen an instant-onset headache. Laudna notices and encourages Imogen to take a moment away from people and get some tea.
    • During the fight when Laudna fails to curse a knife, Imogen has no problem with her Super Mode form and comforts her by patting her head with no discomfort.
  • Laudna, despite her looks, is quite a pleasant person and she's very fond of children as she tried to play with a few dwarven children who were spying on them. Unfortunately, this causes the children to run off in a panic. Imogen does her best to console Laudna who just wanted to play with the children and doesn't understand why they think she's scary.
    Imogen: Kids like fun-scary.
    Laudna: I'm fun-scary!!
Imogen: No, you're scary scary. (beat) But in a good way.
  • F.C.G. just being an all around pleasant character who does what they can to help others out. Despite Ashton's rough personality, they genuinely seems to like and appreciate F.C.G.'s company.
    • During their first fight, FCG transfer's some of the damage Betrand took to themself. Betrand immediately thanks the automaton.
  • While Ashton immediately regrets it soon afterwards, they let F.C.G. eat the copper coins saying that even if they like money, they enjoy watching F.C.G. eat it as well.
  • Matt calling Liam, Ashley, and Robbie to the table. For those who liked the Exandria cast and wished they had more screen time, they now get that chance in the third campaign, with Robbie being a guest party member.
    • Orym and Dorian being concerned friends as they try to figure out a way to keep Fearne's kleptomaniac tendencies under control.
  • While slightly creeped out, Dorian thanks Laudna for saving his life.
  • Dorian failing at his performance due to a low roll and immediately tries to flee the scene in embarrassment. Fearne tries to motivate him by pretending to be an enthusiastic fan. He initially tries to stop before getting angry at the tavern audience for laughing at him and then trying again. While he makes an okay performance, another musician sympathetically gives him a gold coin.
  • Most of the party take rooms at a tavern for the night. Since Fresh Cut Grass doesn't need to sleep they find the drunkest patron in the bar and gives the man their room so he'll be comfortable.
  • While Bertrand's low energy as an old man is played up for all the jokes there is, Orym takes him by the finger to lead Bertrand to his bed. Once he noticed how often Bertrand is falling asleep while they were talking, he decided it was better the old man actually get some rest.
Bertrand: See you in the morning.... Oryn.
Orym: (beat) You got it, pal.
  • Even though most of them have only just met, when Fresh Cut Grass asserts that as an automaton they don't have a soul, the entire group is quick to object and point out that F.C.G.'s capacity for compassion and emotion is proof enough that they have just as much of a soul as any organic person.

    Episode 2: Trial by Firelight
  • Laudna takes significantly less punishment in the opening fight than either Orym or Dorian, and is still in fighting shape. Nevertheless...
Imogen: After seeing what he did to Laudna, my eyes flash white.
  • Ashton likely threw their knife at Betrand in annoyance for the old man hitting their allies, but it's slightly likely they also did it as payback for Fearne.
  • After learning that Lord Eshteross anonymously sponsors adventuring groups, Ashton makes a point of confirming if he was behind the mission that got F.C.G.'s creator and fellow automatons killed.
  • Laudna proudly and emphatically making it clear that if Imogen wanted to attend the Conservatory as a student, she's brilliant and gifted and could absolutely do it and Laudna would "of course" support her wholeheartedly.
  • Beforehand, Laudna was against going into her history and clearly hated remembering Whitestone. However, when the group rest at a bar, she slowly opens up to the group about her past.
    • She even names her dead rat Pâté de Rolo.
  • The somewhat awe and reverence the group have when discussing Vox Machina.
  • While creepy, Laudna enjoys showing off Pâté to the group, even teasing F.C.G. that they'd have to wait to see if her headpiece could talk too.
  • Fearne and Betrand have a decent chat together, each asking each other a bit about their past and if they had families.
  • For the most part, the intense awkwardness and mutual instant regret of Dorian trying to princess-carry Laudna onto the roof is incredibly funny. However...this is still Laudna, who most people take one look at and run away screaming. Dorian is probably the only person who has ever made the effort to be gallant and gentlemanly with her.
  • Ashton talks Laudna and Fearne out of swiping the last three coppers from a passed-out drunk man’s pocket.
Ashton: You never take copper. That's just kicking someone while they're down. You take silver if they're an asshole and you take gold regardless, but you don't—that's just sad. Put it back.
  • Dorian's Undying Loyalty really shines this episode; he makes multiple comments that Orym is "the leader" and, when Bertrand and Imogen waver over pursuing a target, firmly states that he's sorry he can't help but he is not leaving his friend alone.
  • While their actions wind up making Orym have more anxiety, the Back Door group still checks in with him to make sure he's doing okay since they know most of his group is not present at the moment.
    • When Laudna reports to the others that Orym thinks his friends are still outside, F.C.G. is quick to say "We're his friends!" Laudna seems to get excited as she then asks if she and the others were now friends.

Episode 3: The Trail and the Toll
  • As the party winds down after their extremely long day, Orym places a hand on Dorian's shoulder:
Orym: Thanks for not letting me die on the floor back there. I owe you one.
    Dorian: No debts between us.
  • Crossing over with Funny: As per usual, never doubt Imogen in front of Laudna. When Imogen hesitates to use her psychic abilities in a crowded tavern and asks FCG to do it instead:
Imogen: I would, but I...I just...
    FCG: You can't.
Laudna: She can! She can. It's just a lot for her right now, okay?!
  • It crosses over with Tear Jerker, but Bertrand Bell's last word definitely qualifies.
Bertrand: (lying on his back, bleeding out) Lieve'tel...
  • Fearne shyly buying Bertrand a drink, especially with the Reality Subtext that the cast likely had some awareness that Bertrand would not be a permanent member of the group.
  • Laudna casually referring to Imogen as "my girl".
  • When the party discovers Danas' body, Dorian is the only one to think of removing his cloak to cover her and give her some dignity in death.

Episode 4: On the Trail of a Killer
  • Remembering that Bertrand mentioned he was once a member of Vox Machina, Imogen suggests sending his remains back to Tal'dorei and [the people she presumes are] his friends. It's also suggested that, at the very least, Sir Bertrand Bell deserves a knight's funeral.
  • While there are a few amusing moments due to a few people being Innocently Insensitive, the group's goodbyes to Bertrand are sweet. Dorian's is a simple "I'm still working on your song", while Orym says that, while they didn't know him for very long, Bertrand is still responsible for them being brought together, and they intend to honor him for it.

Episode 5: The Threat Between the Walls
  • After they return to Lord Eshteross with news of how they killed Duggar, Lord Eshteross reveals that not only will he send Bertrand's body to Tal'Dorei at his own expense, he placed a bounty out for the killer. He did this even though his relationship was Sir Bertrand was a bit fraught.
  • Heavy crossover with Tearjerker, but Laudna clawing at the floor and screaming in desperation to get to her when she sees Imogen in danger.

Episode 6: Growing Bonds and Teasing Threads
  • While in her own creepy way, Laudna gifts Dorian the Betrand doll she made, likely thinking Dorian still blamed himself for Bertrand's death and trying to cheer him up.
  • During the game of "What The Fuck Is Up With That?" Laudna rolls the highest while Imogen rolls the lowest in that round. However, instead of trying to ask personal questions, Laudna simply asks Imogen if she was feeling alright giving up her father's location for collateral. Imogen admits that while she thinks those people wouldn't be able to get to her father anyway, she feels he's better off without her and still cares for him regardless.
    • F.C.G. wondering about his other "soul-touched" party members and how they dream, a bit sad he can't experience it. That night as he falls into stasis, he tries to make himself dream. Imogen gently talks into his head, perking up the little robot who believes he's dreaming.
    • Fearne asking Ashton if he's ever been in love. Ashton seems pretty introspective in his thoughts as he admits that while he's not sure he's been in love, he's probably confused friendship and lust for love. However, he does admit that he has slowly grown to love and care for his small group. The group then start discussing the different kinds of love from romantic, familial and platonic.
  • As the others walk around, Imogen tells them she hoped none of them were leaving soon since she liked being around them. The others all agree.
  • Laudna and Imogen take the group to their lodgings where they meet Zhudana who took them in. It's clear that she adores Laudna and Imogen who in turn take care of her as best as they can. She even gets excited when she sees F.C.G., calling them adorable.
  • Dorian basically winning his showdown match with Anni through The Power of Friendship, after getting a boost from F.C.G. and Orym Druidcrafting a flower in his hair. After Anni storms off when she loses, the group cheer for Dorian who immediately says they were the ones who should get some credit.
  • Despite having constantly turned down Bertrand's self-absorbed names for the group, as the group tries to find a name, they frequently try to work Bertrand's name into it in his honor.

    Episode 7: Behind the Curtain
  • Even as the whole core cast now sings the theme, "It's Thursday Night", the first to be on lead vocals are Ashley and Laura - who were the leads for their first full-fledged theme "Your Turn to Roll".
  • F.C.G. going to meet the performers because one of them got injured and offers his aid. Matt describes the group as a tight knit family who stare at F.C.G. warily and immediately grab him when it looks like he hurt their friend.
  • While Stuvan comes across as a somewhat shady businessman, it later becomes clearer that he did care for the people who worked for him as well as the missing guests. The guards weren't making his life easier since they saw him as the main suspect and he is more than glad to see the group manage to clear his name.
  • As Laudna is attacked by the wall monster, Imogen once again sports glowing eyes and angrily shoots it with electricity.
  • F.C.G. scouring through the remains of the monster to see if he could find any remains of the theatre people so they at least had some identification for their loved ones.

    Episode 8: A Woodworker's Quandary
  • F.C.G comforting and successfully casting Calm Emotions on a distressed Imogen in the cable car.
  • The party referring to each other as close friends, even including Chetney. (Ashton quibbles a little but they don't actively deny it.)
  • While there seems to be a bit more to the brother's backstories, Dorian and Cyrus do seem to get along fine with Dorian even affectionately saying, "this is why I like you". He also gives Cyrus his sending stone just in case, since there was a bounty on his brother's head.

Episode 9: Thicker Grows the Meal and Plot
  • Fearne calling for the chef so she can give her compliments to the dish. As the chef comes out of the kitchen, he's revealed to be a lumbering ogre named Pretty. When Fearne compliments his food, Pretty fights back Tears of Joy; Fearne tells him his dish was the best meal she ever had, thoroughly making Pretty's day.
  • While it was to distract Pretty from seeing the boys stumble out of the kitchen, later Imogen, Launda and Fearne tell the others they have to return in a few hours to keep their date promise to Pretty. The girls admit that Pretty is "pretty" nice and would feel bad for standing him up.
    • When Imogen asks Pretty if he wants to go on a date, he seems flabbergasted as he looks back and forth between the party's table and his Boss. Preio is just as shocked as him, but encourages him to take the date. Pretty practically rushes to the kitchen so he could get off as soon as he can.
    • Throughout the rest of the session, the players keep asking Matt what time it is, wanting to make sure they don't miss the date, even though it was just done as a distraction and you'd expect them to just forget about it.
  • After accidentally letting some information slip regarding Dorian's brother Cyrus, the group decides they need to get Cyrus out of the city fast, and go see Lord Eshteross for help. He agrees to assist, but comments that they'll owe him a favor in return. Chetney speaks up and essentially offers to take on the burden of paying back Lord Eshteross on Dorian (and Cyrus)'s behalf, despite their usual antagonism and Chetney's relative unfamiliarity with the group.
    • While Dorian regretted giving out that information, when they were talking to Avita, he was genuine when he asked if they would drop the bounty. Not because the bounty in question was their friend, but because they were Dorian's family. She takes in this information and does tell him a way for Cyrus to avoid the bounty on his head while keeping safe.

Episode 10: Ghosts, Dates, and Darker Fates
  • As they run into some guards, the group pretend that they saw some ghosts, with one of the guards believing them. Then F.C.G. gently asks that guard if he was experiencing some stressors in his life that could lead to him "seeing" ghosts. The guard immediately starts telling F.C.G. about some marital issues he's been having. While his partner shuts him up, F.C.G. advises that the man and his wife not go to bed angry and to talk it out.
  • While the group discusses what to do next, the others don't hold it against the girls to go along with their date with Pretty. The girls even let F.C.G. tag along so they could experience what a "date" was.
  • Dorian and Chetney actually getting along with one another, acknowledging each other as friends.
    • Dorian gently placing a hand on Chetney's shoulder while the other puts his hand on Dorian's. Cue aww's from the entire table.
      Matt: That's fucking adorable.
    • The two also have a conversation about how it feels to belong to a group, starting with Chetney asking if the group ever fights. Chetney even admits that Dorian gets in a good line during their talk.
Dorian: I don't know if I've ever fought any of them.
Chetney: You know, you don't truly know someone until you fight them.
Dorian: Hmm... I would say you don't truly know someone until you fight alongside them.
  • Pretty being delighted to see the girls and got each of them a gift. Matt even describes Pretty as wearing a tiny bow being stretched out with other bows to fit around his neck, which the entire table is delighted by.
    • While Pretty ends up gently turning the girls down after their date, they all agree they're fine being friends. Pretty hopes the girls find their special person and asks them to bring them back to the Soot and Swill to treat them to a meal.
Laudna: But of course, they would need your approval.
Pretty: Of course! I'm invested in your happiness!
  • Ashton gives the group the rundown of what he did and when he talks about why he and the Nobodies disbanded, everyone immediately tries to ask Ashton if he was feeling okay. F.C.G. in particular seems worried about how Ashton would feel, to which Ashton responds that he understands why the Nobodies left and would have done the same.

    Episode 11: Chasing Nightmares
  • While Ira is cruel and sadistic, he stops attacking the party and seems to show some respect towards Fearne as he recognizes her as a fae and a Calloway.
  • Orym and Chetney stare up at Ira's full height, with Chetney quietly reaching over to hold Orym's hand for support.
  • As rubble from the exploding lab rains down on the town, Chetney manages to dodge but Dorian gets struck unconscious. Ashton immediately turns back from running and runs over to where Dorian and F.C.G. were. He holds out his hammer in anticipation of protecting them from further injury.
  • After the fight, Chetney comps everyone's sleeping arrangements. The day after, he pays for their breakfast and spends a whopping fifty gold to treat the party to a day of pampering at a high end spa, explicitly because he feels bad about lying to them and the situation he unwittingly dragged them into. The party is touched, and assure him that he doesn't have to buy their friendship.
    • Dorian spends the whole day with Chetney, making sure he gets to experience all the joys of a high-end bathhouse, and is thrilled to see the old man enjoying himself.
  • Laudna attempting to practicing announcint the group as the "New Nobodies" if they were to attend the party. While it's clear she's more creepy than charming, Dorian still politely claps for her and quietly motions for the party to do the same so Laudna wouldn't feel bad.

    Episode 12: Make It Fashion
  • Laudna and Imogen's bond, especially in this episode in how she finds information in the library for Laudna and Laudna comforting Imogen after she had a nightmare.
  • Another moment for Laudna. Her interactions with Marwa the shopkeeper... who is entirely unfazed by her appearance or mannerisms, especially when Marwa is just in awe regarding Pâté. A combination of that and a pastry nets Laudna a Bloodwell Vial +1 for 50 gold cheaper and a new friend!
  • the fact that it's Ashton who ask Marwa for doll clothes with the intent to get Pâté a nice suit, completely unprompted and unasked for is a very thoughtful gesture
  • Mixed with funny, the group spending time together and having a craft day making masks, with Chetney having a ton of respect for Orym and him making a wooden mask and offering to teach him woodwork.
  • Orym and Imogen ask Lady Lumas for permission to search the late Lumas twins' personal effects, following up on a lead. Imogen isn't quite sure how to inquire in the most respectful way, so she confers telepathically with Orym, who offers her advice and support. As they leave the estate, the two of them have a brief but very sincere Friendship Moment.
    Orym: You're a good egg.
    Imogen: (smiling) You too, Orym.
  • While Dorian's reaction to having to attend the ball under his actual name and identity is quite sad, Orym and Fearne's immediate instinct to be in the same group as him is a sweet demonstration of the bond between the three.

Episode 13: A Dance of Deception
  • Imogen starts to feel overwhelmed by everything and takes herself off to the side. As she catches her breath she asks Orym if he could help her if she starts freaking out. He calmly assure her he will.
  • Chetney and the group recognizing Cyrus in the crowd. This leads to Chetney trying to get Cyrus away and out of the ball, but he refuses.
  • As Chetney looks around for Cyrus, he recalls that the person who distracted the guards for him asking where the bathroom was sounded a lot like Cyrus. Remembering that Ethon was where Cyrus was Chetney starts angrily muttering, "I don't care, I don't care, I don't care." However, after stewing for a few more seconds, he growls, "fuck" as he turns back to try and look for Cyrus.

     Episode 14: In Too Deep
  • The guard they saved asks how he should address the group as. Imogen initially throws something out, but later turns back, points at him and declares them Bell's Hells. She also adds he not forget that name.
    • Later the guard they saved vouches for the group saying they saved his life and helped fight off the attackers.
  • Laudna entering her Form of Dread to distract the partygoers after her darkness spell doesn't work. As some of the party splits off, Imogen immediately stands firm as she says she won't leave Laudna behind as she walks up to her and casts Calm Emotions on the guards.
  • Dorian has to leave the group in order to escort his brother to safety. They tearfully say goodbye, and members of the group reassure him that he's a good man. Dorian isn't so sure.
Orym: You are a good man. We've seen all the proof we need.
  • Dorian asks Imogen if they were really going to be called "Bell's Hells" and asked if she liked it. She pauses for a moment before admitting she did really like the name, to which the others come to an agreement on.
  • Dorian bidding farewell to Orym and Fearne, affectionately calling them, "Big spoon, medium spoon, little spoon".
  • After Dorian and Cyrus leave, a sheepish Laudna asks Lord Eshteross if he's mad at them. He's not.
Lord Eshteross: I didn't bring you to be good party guests. I brought you to be problem solvers. You did a good job.
  • After Dorian and Cyrus have left, Robbie describes the ship Chetney had crafted for Dorian floating in the air with a Levitation spell. A child below happily chases and plays with the ship.
  • The cast is visibly emotional after Matt ends the episode, just like the chat. As the episode ends, a title card comes up: Dorian Storm will return in a two-part Exandria Unlimited special.

     Episode 15: The Tunnels Below
  • Fearne admitting she was able to sleep okay the night before, but still misses Dorian. Imogen and Laudna immediately offer to join the cuddle pile if it would help Fearne sleep better.

     Episode 16: The Shade Mother
  • Imogen creating a makeshift sling for Laudna arm.
  • When Laudna felt like she was dead-weight in the fight with the Shade Mother, Ashton gave her a good pep talk in his own way.
Ashton: There’s always a lesson to be learned, and I feel like it’s one of my favorite lessons today, which is sometimes there’s no lesson to be learned. Sometimes shit’s just fucked up, and the only thing you can do, because you didn’t do anything fucking wrong, is get the fuck back up and do the exact same thing all over again knowing that there was nothing to learn.
Laudna:I feel oddly comforted and it disturbs me.
    Ashton: Thank you.
    Laudna: That was good advice.
    Ashton: THANK you.
Laudna: For pretty much no fucking advice.
Ashton: Honestly I feel like that’s kind of my brand.
  • Orym sits down with Fresh Cut Grass to express his concern for their condition and earnestly encourage them to take better care of themself, pointing out that they don't have to take everyone's worries on themself at their own expense and that helping and caring for the group does not have to be a one-way street. Ashton chips in a few times in agreement, and offers a timely reminder that complicated issues like the ones the group is facing will not, and should not, be resolved quickly but will take time to work on.

     Episode 17: Heart-to-Heartmoor
  • Imogen has the storm dream again. When she wakes, very shaken, Laudna reassures her that she won't leave her and will follow wherever she needs to go, even into the dream, if that's possible.
  • While also a funny moment, Sam brings up his gas can just as Marisha is making her first roll for the session. The message on the can this time referred to the former's poor dice rolls in the previous session, reading: "Marisha, we're sorry we suck. We promise to roll better. Please don't give up on us."
    • And then Marisha rolled a 16, which while not amazing was still a lot better than the rolls she got last session.
  • Ashton checks in with F.C.G. first thing in the morning to see how he's doing. He tells them that they need them working , then amends it to "you need you working" and that "you're never going to disappoint anybody" if they need something. It's very sweet coming from the normally gruff Ashton.
  • After Laudna and Imogen give Zhudanna money for their rent, Zhudanna states that she was happy just to provide homestead for anyone that needed it, and therefore paying her was unnecessary. They give her the money anyway.
    • Then, moments later, Orym Druidcrafts flowers onto Zhudanna's door before he leaves.
  • Orym listens quietly and respectfully to Laudna's story, asking permission before hugging her tightly and telling her how sorry he is that it happened to her.
Laudna: Honestly, I'm fine. It was a long time ago.
Orym: [softly] Respectfully... so fucking what?
  • While the story behind his moon tattoos are tragic, and Orym does miss his husband terribly, he chooses to look back at the fond times they had together. The usually chaotic Chetney is touched by Orym's story and as he calls it beautiful, he looks up to the moon and is clearly Trying Not to Cry.
Orym: He was, uh... half-elven and um... big moon, little moon.
    • When Orym confirms to Chetney that his husband is dead, Chetney immediately apologizes and makes sure he's not hurting Orym or overstepping by asking. It's a marked departure from his usual, irascible grumbling and sniping, especially after he's noticeably avoided more personal conversations with various members of the Hells previously. But from the moment Orym just mentions his husband, Chetney's voice softens in a way it never has before, almost immediately realising what Orym isn't quite saying yet. He lets Orym speak as much or as little as he likes, listening and occasionally prompting with incredible sympathy and care, gently complimenting the tattoo and asking if he can know Will's name. It's a startling show of compassion and tenderness from a gnome so keen on rubbing people the wrong way.
Chetney: You're a good guy, Orym. I'm sure Will was very happy.

     Episode 18: A Hungry Jungle
  • When the elf who runs the museum sees F.C.G. he asks how much he would be worth. While F.C.G. nonchalantly tries to remember what his price was from Lady Hexum, a few of the party members protectively say that F.C.G. isn't for sale.
    Imogen: He's not for sale.
Orym: He's one of a kind.
    Ashton: Priceless.

     Episode 19: Omens Above
  • Imogen shows the little doll that she got from the knick knack store and Launda was ecstatic to see it. Crosses over into funny a little with the name Sashimi, but the fact she was so happy to see the doll was cute
  • When Imogen wakes up in a sobbing panic from the worst nightmare of her life, Fearne immediately shakes Laudna awake to reassure her—and then deliberately takes her hand out of Imogen's pocket without stealing anything before settling in to help calm her down.
  • All the Hells currently available close ranks around Imogen when it becomes clear that the nightmares are Ruidus-induced and magical in nature.
    • Orym calmly assures Imogen that while they may not be able to follow her into her dreams—at least not yet—in the real world, they're not going to leave her.
    • Fearne, inspired by this comment, has a brainwave. She takes one of her own hair ribbons and some of Laudna's trademark red yarn, braids them together like a friendship bracelet, and ties them around Imogen's wrist—so that when the nightmare hits, she can look down and remember that she's not alone.
    • A tearful Laudna declaring that "I would murder everyone around us if anything were to happen to you."
  • Bell's Hells, realizing that Imogen would be a person of interest to the shadow-assassins targeting anyone connected to the Ruidusborn, immediately decide to sleep in shifts from now on, even if they're staying at an inn. Imogen tries to protest that they're going to too much trouble on her behalf.
Imogen: Oh, God, no, that's so much...
    Fearne: No, no it's not—
Laudna: Everyone here loves the fuck out of you.

     Episode 20: Breaking and Entering...
  • When Chetney gets caught in a trap by himself the rest of the team are quick to rig a rope to rescue him, with Orym being quick to volunteer to be tied to the rope and go down to get him. When the rope proves just to short to reach, the whole team forms a human chain to make up the difference
  • After getting caught in the above trap Chetney is under half health, meaning he has to roll Wisdom Saving Throws to avoid losing control and attacking whoever is closest. He has to make these saves while being slowly pulled out of the trap, hand-in-hand with Orym, who can tell something is wrong but holds on anyway. Once they're free, he finally fails the saving throw, and lashes out at Orym— who, despite being explicitly pissed off and hurting, not only holds on despite Chetney being out of danger, but takes hold with his other hand as well. Chetney, still struggling not to lash out again, immediately regrets hurting his friend.
    Chetney, growling: I'm sorry... sorry.

Episode 21: Fight at the Museum...
  • As willing as Bell's Hells are to mess with their heist rivals The Verdict, they draw the line at any of them dying. After intentionally triggering a fire trap on them, Imogen holds back to ensure it causes nothing more than unconsciousness, and FCG stabilizes those who are. Ashton in particular is genuinely outraged at Evon Hytroga for putting both teams in lethal danger, and is ready to lay into him when he makes a joke about the losers being killed.

     Episode 22: Promise and Potential
  • Laudna attempting to write an apology note for the Verdict, as she along with the others felt bad at what they had done to them during the heist.
  • Ashton has openly stated they hate other people touching them. But they've become much more comfortable with the Bell's Hells. So when Chetney lounges on one of the beds and says anyone can join, Ashton playfully body slams him.
  • Ashton had said in previous episodes that all of the Nobodies abandoned them after they got injured and left him to take the fall, we learn here that that's not entirely true. Milo was also a member of the Nobodies, and not only did they stay with Ashton all this time and save his life they did so even as other members of the group were telling them to leave Ashton behind as a lost cause.
    • While delving into his memories, Imogen immediately asks F.C.G. to cast calm emotions on Ashton when they get to where he fell out the window. Imogen knows how traumatizing that was and explicitly says she doesn't want Ashton to relive it.
  • After Ashton wakes up and F.C.G. lifts the calm emotions, he rushes towards the wall and beat his knuckles until they're bloody. While the rest of the party attempt to intervene, Fearne calmly tells them to let Ashton vent. Once he's finished, he does seem noticeably more relieved.

     Episode 23: To The Skies
  • Eshteross sending off the Hells with some cookies and hoping they come back safe and sound.
  • Chetney giving Orym his gift, a box with his "big moon and little moon" motif, adding in "and whatever comes next".
  • The captain asks who the "leader" of the Hells are, F.C.G. points to Ashton. However, Laudna adds that each of the Hells has a talent that they each could provide.
  • The moment the group realizes Orym fell overboard, they all yell at the captain to turn around so they can get him. Laudna, who barely saw it happen, casts Feather Fall almost on instinct, and Imogen uses her powers to fly off of the ship to catch Orym out of the sky. Orym is immensely grateful afterwards.
Orym: (holding both of their hands) You two saved my life. You two saved my life.
Laudna: You've done it for us many a time, Head of Security.
    • Orym is left completely exhausted and disoriented, and vomits over the side before collapsing backwards onto the deck. Ashton, genuinely concerned for his wellbeing, gently picks him up and takes him someplace calmer, and gives him a bottle of booze from their own room.
Ashton: That's okay, you did good. You flew. You flew!

     Episode 24: The Hellcatch Valley
  • Even though the two aren't acting as close as they were previously, Imogen is still willing to talk to Laudna after the incident. When they see an imposing figure in Hellcatch Valley, Laudna says he's not that scary with Imogen immediately adding that Laudna was a lot scarier than him.
  • The group come across a creature who is looking for their offspring, with Imogen attempting to empathize with and and calm its rage.
  • Chetney gifts Laudna a doll house for Sashimi and Pâté, since he wasn't able to make Pâté a girlfriend in time. This leads Laudna to tearfully and happily thanking Chetney.
  • During their watch, F.C.G. and Chetney talk with one another. F.C.G. recalls a hawk that used to antagonize them when they last went to Hellcatch valley, and Chetney doesn't make fun of them. In fact, Chetney asks for F.C.G. to let him know if he ever spots that bird and he'd happily take it out for them. F.C.G. asks Chetney to not tell the others as he felt foolish about it, which Chetney agrees to amid the table aw's.
Matt: You're now considered a trusted companion.
  • The party stumble across an elf who is being intimidated by a group and while a bit hesitant, they eventually charge forward to help them.
    • Dusk as they watch the party fight, happily cheers them on and calls the Bell's Hells cool.
  • Due to wild magic, Imogen loses all of her hair, leaving her bald. Chetney tosses her his cap while Laudna tries to console Imogen saying she doesn't look that bad. Fearne attempts to salvage Imogen's hair and make it into a wig.

    Episode 25: A Taste of Tal'Dorei
  • There is a tinkerer in Bassuras named Imahara Joe. Grant Imahara was close friends with Matt and Marisha, and helped Matt with his elaborate proposal to Marisha.

    Episode 26:Hidden Truths
  • We meet Imahara Joe, and Matt channels Grant's mannerisms perfectly, making for a lovely tribute to his friend. His name is also written surname-first, respecting Japanese convention. note

Episode 27: A Race for the Prize
  • Laudna and Imogen take a moment to reconcile! They apologize to each other, and Imogen admits that she knew that Delilah was at fault for everything. However, they decide to bring FCG into it in order to distract them from everything about Dancer. It quickly becomes a Tear Jerker because FCG is really not doing well.
    • During the conversation with FCG, Orym checks in with Dusk to see how they are doing after Laudna's low-key rejection and to try and help them remember their past. It's sweet... if you ignore the fact that they are a plant who wants to kill Fearne's parents and now Fearne.
  • Before the Hells go to sleep, Ashton tells FCG that if anyone makes them feel bad, he’ll kill them. This is followed up by Ashton telling FCG that he’s the “best of us”. It’s sweet to see how protective Ashton is of their little robot friend.

    Episode 28: The Deathwish Run
  • Dusk gently lifting Laudna's head up so they could heal her.
  • Mister holding Fearne's hand as they hurry off to help the Bell's Hells with the race.
  • When FCG is brought to Imahara Joe’s after being badly damaged by the race, Joe doesn’t hesitate to fix him up. Ashton decides to stay with FCG while he’s being fixed in order to make sure that the mechanics at his store don't try any funny business. When FCG protests against this, Ashton tells them they “don’t have a choice”.

     Episode 29: Dark Portents
  • As Laudna goes to attack Yu, they shift into Imogen's form, causing Laudna to hold back.
  • While how much of what Yu says should be taken with a grain of salt, they seem genuine in their affection towards Laudna, who feels hurt at their betrayal. Yu still continues to flirt with Laudna and push away her doubts on receiving affection.
  • Instead of immediately offing Yu, the Bell's Hells instead keep them at a stand-still. While they are hurt at Yu betraying them, they're not going to kill someone how hasn't done them direct harm.
  • A fantastic illustration of the difference between fondness and love, courtesy of Orym:
Yu: I wouldn't dream of harming your daughter.
Orym: [deadly soft] You won't be able to harm their daughter.
  • Birdie meeting Fearne. While she admits she may not have been the best parent and hadn't got to spend enough time with Fearne, she's still happy to be able to finally hold her in her arms.
  • Chetney hits Imogen to let her know not to use her fire spells inside the room full of dynamite. Imogen immediately lets him know she uses lightning magic and Orym tells Chetney off for hitting her.
    • Becomes Ironic the next episode when Imogen actually does set off explosives

     Episode 31: Breaking Point
  • Sam's ad, believe it or not. The sponsor was NordVPN, and rather than continue the storyline, Sam uses the opportunity to speak to his potential grandchildren. He works in references to the service, and to movies like Waterworld and The Matrix, but it's mostly him heaping love and appreciation on his wife, his kids, and his best friends.
  • F.C.G. and Imogen help Fearne work through her issues with her parents. She tells them that she's mad and isn't ready to forgive them yet, and they agree that she's right to be. They hope they can work to make it up to her someday, but they'll give it time and let things move at Fearne's own pace.
  • Fearne introducing Mister to her parents, and calling him her child.
  • Before going to sleep, Orym uses the Sending stone to contact Dorian. Dorian is keeping his half of the family intact, and wishes Orym luck.
  • Despite just witnessing FCG attack the party Ashton never once goes on the offensive to attack the bot back. Once the fight ends they stand guard beside FCG's strung up unconscious body and Taliesin states they are watching the party for any sudden movements. Despite their aloof outlook of friendships Ashton's loyalty to FCG is unshakable.
  • While Imogen looks through FCG's thoughts, she sees what FCG has picked up from the party. Chetney talks about his love for woodworking, and Orym, while somewhat tearjerking, reminisces over the time he had with Will.
  • Afterwards, Imogen goes to comfort Laudna, who feels terrible over nearly hurting FCG. She then tells Laudna that no matter what Delilah says about the others leaving Laudna in the end, she'd always be there for her.
Imogen: You have one of the biggest sparks i've ever seen. You don't need a pulse for that.
Laudna: .... pales compared to yours
  • FCG profusely apologizes to Chetney several times for attacking him. Chetney, being more than familiar with what FCG's going through assures him that it's water under the bridge.

     Episode 32: A Stage Set
  • While Dancer is still not ready to forgive F.C.G. Even knowing that, F.C.G. advises them to find someone to talk to, to remember to have meals and just to look after themselves.
    • Dancer admits to Orym and Imogen when they found F.C.G., they just turned him on and... his good nature was something he picked up on his own, along with mimicking Dancer's accent.
    • Even though Dancer is unready to forgive F.C.G., there were enough good times for them to remain open to the possibility of doing so some day.
    • Look at how Matt reacts when FCG says Smiley Day the little laugh is more relief then anything. In character, that's Dancer remembering the times FCG would be all smiles. Deep down she still cares for the little robot.
  • Ashton and Laudna have an odd heart to heart with each other in a sandstorm and at a store. Ashton advises Laudna to not always pretend she's alright, with Laudna saying both of them could be broken together.

     Episode 33: Blood and Dust
  • Matt's reaction to the official Beau vest is first shock, followed by utter childlike glee. He asks for a vest himself and wears it for the rest of the episode. Crosses over with Funny.
  • Orym, knowing he is going to die, is comforted knowing he'll be able to see Will and his father again in death.
  • Fearne calmly accepts her death as she is killed. Even in her last words, she truly had fun with the Hells.
Fearne: Boy. That was a hell of a run.
  • Laudna is out and Marisha is rolling for Death Saves. She manages to roll a Nat 20. As Laudna manages to get back up, the first person she calls out to is Imogen.
  • Crossing heavily with Tearjerker, Imogen's increasingly raw and desperate pleas to Otohan that she'll give in and surrender, in exchange for the party's safety.
    • Initially, Imogen was resisting—playing along to buy time, but clearly looking for an out and doing her best to angle for a way to keep fighting. Then Otohan takes her time tracing a long glance between Laudna, and Imogen, and back again, smirks, and:
    Otohan: ...Is she your favorite—?
Imogen: I'LL COME WITH YOU! ...I give in. Don't hurt her.
    • Similarly, Imogen reentering the battle with everything she has. It's clear even from the beginning that Otohan primarily wants her, and the others are a distraction. The rest of the Hells are relieved when Imogen manages to teleport away early in the confrontation. A round or two later, people are starting to drop and the party decides to scatter in the hope that most of them might escape. Imogen already has a head start, and is the only Hell not trapped in melee combat, but...
    Imogen: Laudna?! Where are you?!
    Matt: ...No response.
    [pause]
    FCG: Go.
    Imogen: ...
FCG: Go. Go, do not come back here—
  • Chetney, prone on the ground and barely able to move, still tries to trip up Otohan as she runs towards Laudna.

Episode 34: What Dreams May Come
  • When Ashton sees that Laudna is also dead, he tells Imogen to contact Jiana Hexum, saying "I will do anything, go anywhere" if Hexum can hook them up with someone who can bring Laudna back.
  • Upon raising Fearne from the dead, F.C.G. says that he doesn't want Fearne to go, and what while she already has a family around the planes, they're making a new one up here.
  • Fearne tearfully calling Orym her friend as she gently cradles his lifeless body in her arms.
  • After dying, Orym sees his husband Will in the afterlife. Orym stays just long enough to hug Will and say how much he misses him, prompting Will to say that Orym's strength is needed back on Marquet. It shows how selfless Orym truly is that he'll turn his back on eternity with the man he loves to help out Bell's Hells.
  • The group's entire goal has now gone from "find out what's happening with Ruidus" to "bring Laudna back". They suggest such things as the aforesaid deal with Jiana Hexum, making another deal with Lord Eschteross, leveraging the guilt of the Lord and Lady of Whitestone for a connection, and even contacting Keyleth of the Air Ashari to have her do it. They know any of these options are going to open up great personal risks to themselves, but they don't care; they want to save Laudna, and that's all that matters.
  • Imogen tries to search for Laudna in her dreams. Laudna isn't there, but Matt describes a familiar feeling to Imogen.
  • Chetney gives F.C.G. his gift: a clock with different images of emotions on it that F.C.G. can use to communicate how he feels to the group. Then F.C.G. shows he himself carved a toolbox for Chetney, along with a small etching of Chetney's tattoo on it. While Chetney snarks at how amateurish the piece is, he's clearly touched by F.C.G's thoughtfulness.
  • After managing to hide the Hells from the Paragon's Call, Joe tells the group he wants them out ASAP for the danger they're bringing to him. Despite the spot they put Joe in, the Hells are genuinely grateful for all he's done for them and offer to make it up to him when they can.
  • F.C.G. performs Gentle Reponse on Laudna to keep her body from decomposing further. He notes that he doesn't have lips, so Imogen leans down and kisses Laudna's forehead.

     Episode 35: Pyrrhic Return
  • As they board the ship, Imogen is noted to have immediately taken care of Laudna and put her somewhere safe. That night she chooses to sleep in the hole next to Laudna's body.
    • Xandis warns the group to tie down or keep any important items of theirs close. Imogen lets the group know she tied the hole up securely.
  • F.C.G. contacts Jiana Hexum asking for help with resurrecting Laudna. Lady Hexum is very coy as to what price she would ask of the Hells, but it's clear to all that it would involve her opening F.C.G. up to poke around their insides. F.C.G. is perfectly willing and starts brainstorming ideas to make it as safe as possible. Ashton immediately shuts that talk down, saying that No One Gets Left Behind.
Ashton: Do you like me happy? Do yo like me fuckin' happy? I'm gonna have this moment. Do yo like me fuckin' happy? [...] I have one thing, since I'm now caught in these fuckin' crazy people... (to Orym) Except you. (back to FCG) Do not leave people the fuck behind. Not you, not Laudna, not fucking anybody. That shit is done. No more offering yourself fuckin' up, cause that's just gonna make me not happy. And I know you like people being happy. I wanna be happy. I wanna be happy because you're making me happy. And you make me so happy when you're not offering yourself up like a piece of fuckin' meat.
  • While the person she's having a conversation with doesn't have the highest moral, Imogen tells Delilah she would do anything if it meant saving Laudna.
  • Keyleth's despite her power and title as the Tempest, still awkwardly greets the group. It's been years since the first campaign with Vox Machina, but Keyleth is still Keyleth.
  • Keyleth's inexpressible tenderness when she sees Laudna's body and finally understands what the problem is and why Orym called her in personally for help.
    • It's unclear from her reaction—which consisted mostly of gentle silence—how much Keyleth understood from just Orym's roundabout explanation and the sight of Laudna's body. He never actually told her why he thought Laudna had a personal connection, but she never asked. She just helped.
    • At the very least, she would have instantly recognized Laudna as undead and stepped forward to help save her despite being a druid, and despite Keyleth's personal extremely bad experiences with the undead. More likely, due to Imogen's reference to a "strong tie to Whitestone" she deduced that Laudna was one of the Briarwoods' victims and took personal responsibility for helping her to the best of Vox Machina's abilities. But it's implied by her long silence that—even in different clothes, wearing ear caps, and after thirty years have passed— Keyleth saw the face of the girl who was murdered at the Sun Tree and recognized her instantly.

     Episode 36: A Desperate Call
  • We reunited with Keyleth last episode, and here we get to reunite Percy, Vex, Pike, and even Trinket! Matt does a masterful job of portraying each.
    • Percy may be a bit standoffish, but he is a loving family man and very patient with his youngest daughter Gwendolyn. He even very kindly appraises Chetney's craftsmanship. He warns Ashton that should the Hells accidentally bring Delilah back into this realm, he won’t hesitate to take them down with her to protect his family.
    • Vex is gracious and welcoming, much more so than Percy. Perhaps because she knows what it is to feel unwelcome in a palace. She thanks Imogen for sending Bertrand to Whitestone, and she resolves to help Laudna even before she knows the entire story. And when she does, she offers to foot the bill for the whole thing.
    • Vex and Percy's family continues to grow, including a young tiefling daughter; and their relationship is exactly as sweet, loving, and—while we see them in a somber moment—clearly as playful as it was thirty years ago. Even with everything going on, they exchange quick kisses in front of strangers and don't even bother with any formality around their children.
    • Pike may be a humble baker now, but she is still the Everlight's Champion, a beacon of warmth and hope and compassion, helping a group of strangers with ties to one of her greatest enemies because it is right and because Keyleth and Vex both agree.
  • Orym asks Keyleth to pass on a message to the other guards for him, which she happily agrees to do. She couldn't do much for the Hells since she has so much on her plate, but she was more than happy to help them however she could.
  • Ashton carefully unwraps Laudna, and even glances at Imogen multiple times to see if she's okay with it before proceeding further. She quietly nods at him to continue.
  • Percy is initially firmly resistant to the request for a resurrection, and not less so once it's clear that there's a connection to the Briarwoods—he's entirely willing to give Laudna all the dignity in death that Whitestone can offer, but resurrection is a big ask. Orym makes an eloquent speech that doesn't get them much more than polite sympathy. What eventually convinces him to call Pike is Imogen's comment about Laudna being "chosen". She seems to mean it as "chosen for a higher purpose," but Percy's reaction is quiet and subdued...and reminds the audience that Laudna, lying dead on the floor of his office, was also once chosen for her strong resemblance to his wife.
  • Chetney offers Gwendolyn one of his carvings free of charge. This is likely the first time in a while he’s been able to gift one of his crafts to a child. Gwendolyn is happy to receive a new toy.
    • When Percy asks for Chetney's qualifications in his woodwork, the Hells are quick to back him up and provide some of the gifts Chetney made for them as evidence. Percy seems particularly impressed by the box Chetney made for Orym.
  • The Hells see two teenagers run past, ribbing each other for their hunt, but clearly happy with each other. Vex soon follows them from behind, telling them to get ready for their tutor. Whitestone, once empty, is now full of life and families again.
  • Vex fondly recalls Derrig being at their wedding when Orym asks if she remembers him.
  • While the connection is a sad one, Orym nudges Imogen when they see Vex and points out how she and Laudna looked similar. Imogen calls Vex beautiful.
  • All Percy has to say in order to instantly get both Pike and Vex fully committed to Laudna's resurrection, at any cost of magic or resources to themselves:
"She was on the Sun Tree, Pike."
    • Vex was already deliberately warm and welcoming toward the Hells. When she overhears this, she instantly treats Laudna's body with nothing short of reverence. She's utterly heartbroken, kneeling by her side, stroking her hair with no revulsion toward the undead, and softly begging Percy to help give the poor girl anything that's in their power.
Vex: ...Darling, we have to help them.
  • It's obviously difficult for Percy—who is also somewhat playing the bad cop in this situation for the sake of Whitestone's security—to have a calm discussion about Delilah Briarwood with no warning. But even after he loses his temper at the prospect of any chance of resurrecting her by accident, he takes the time to take several deep breaths and clarify, more calmly, that he is still willing to help them pursue other paths and would be happy to see Laudna returned if they find a way to separate the two souls.
  • Ashton tries to give Percy a piece of his mind and how much he cares for the Hells and Laudna, making the point that Laudna is a kind soul who didn’t deserve either of her deaths.
  • Trinket apparently has a family too; Matt makes note of a smaller bear who Ashton sees. Ashton actually gets along amicably with the bears and even calls Trinket "nice".
  • Pike letting the Hells into her home and telling them to help themselves to any of the day-old pastries.
  • Pike finally settles the question of whether F.C.G. is alive. He is.
F.C.G: Well, maybe it's just because of the coin or somethin'—
Imogen: No, F.C.G., it's because of you.
    • The Hells even wager money on the question. All but Ashton wager money on him being alive, and Ashton only dissents to give the bet some weight; he has no question that F.C.G. is alive.
  • Orym worries his sword won't be able to be brought into the other realm since it isn't magical. Vex immediately walks out and comes back with an enchanted sword for Orym to use.
  • As the small hut catches fire, Chetney runs inside. Even though he gets burnt by the flames, he quickly scoops up the crow skull and rat body Laudna had been working on.
  • After defeating the shadowy figures, Imogen calls out to Laudna, telling her she's safe now.

     Episode 37: From the Boughs
  • Matt describes Laudna's spirit looking similar to the purple color of Imogen's powers.
  • Imogen talking to Matilda and gently calling her "honey" whenever she speaks with her.
  • Whenever the Hells come upon one of Laudna's memories, they're nothing but gentle and caring for her:
    • When Andy attempts to trick Matilda so he can throw dirt in her face? Imogen advises the little girl not to listen to him. Matilda hesitates, but takes Imogen's advice.
    • At the barn, the Hells gently ask Matilda about her drawings and the dolls she made. Being nothing but patient and respectful of her plight.
Matilda: I made a lady, and a bird... to take me far away from this place.
Imogen: We can be that bird for you. We can take you away from here.
    Matilda: Take me where?
    Imogen: Home. Some place safe.
    • Before the dinner, Laudna is getting dressed. Imogen desperately wants to tell her to not go to the dinner, but Ashton advises she focus on the present, and not the past that can no longer be changed. Imogen places her hand on the window and tells Laudna they will save her. Laudna seems to notice this as she places her own hand on where Imogen's was.
  • Fearne decides to hold onto the dolls and the necklace Matilda had put on one of them for safe keeping.
  • Misplaced though their good intentions might have been, FCG honestly tried to give Delilah Briarwood the benefit of the doubt and assumed that the reason she torments others is because she was tormented herself and lashes out at others due to misplaced aggression. A serious case of Good Cannot Comprehend Evil? Sure, but the tin therapist sure does get points for trying.
  • Delilah calls Laudna onto the field to "prove" she couldn't be brought back without Delilah. Imogen and Laudna immediately call out for one another, with Laudna calling Imogen "darling".
  • During the fight, Liam rolls a Nat 1 and rerolls for a Nat 20.
    Orym: (smiling) That was Will.
  • Orym manages to climb the tree and hacks away at its branches to get to Laudna.
Orym: Matilda, Laudna, come on buddy, we need you!

    Episode 38: A Dark Balance
  • They attempt the resurrection ritual. Orym, FCG, and Imogen are the ones to step forward.
    • Orym emphasizes Laudna's gentleness and how deserving she is of love and care, and druidcrafts red poppies into her hair as his contribution.
Orym: You deserve to be more than a footnote in Delilah's story. There are people here who need you. They need your life, and your heart. I don't know what Bell's Hells would be without your darkness, Laudna. Or your light.
    • FCG's attempt at casting Compulsion out of desperate grief earns him a poetic Natural 1. Before that moment, however, his appeal was genuine and kind.
FCG: You might not have been perfect, but you loved. And you loved...Escargot, and Sashimi, and Imogen. And I've always been told that a soul that loves at least touches perfection.
    • Imogen, naturally, is the lodestone of the ritual. While her contribution fails due to Delilah's lingering interference, her plea with Laudna's spirit—especially directly in the wake of FCG's disastrous Compulsion attempt—is gutwrenching in its tenderness.
"...You know you saved my life, right? If you hadn't'a come into town when you did I don't know how long I woulda lasted. These last few years have been...they've been everything. And through it all, all the laughter, all the hardships, she was with you. She was choking you. If you come back...I don't know how you're gonna feel, if you'll feel free, or if you'll feel empty. But I want you to know whatever...whatever hole she's leavin', I'll be there. To help fill it. All right? I'll be there for you."
    • Deserving their own mention are Imogen's last words in the ritual. The ultimate defiance of Delilah Briarwood is this—Imogen being willing to let go, putting aside her own devastated, crushing grief in abject refusal to do "whatever it takes" to get Laudna back if the price is denying Laudna agency and respect the way Delilah did.
Imogen: I'm not gonna tell you to come back, I'm not gonna try to—to compel you to come back, because that choice, Laudna, is yours now. No one gets to control you anymore. Just know that I love you.
  • Laudna clings desperately to Imogen's hand from the moment she wakes up, but hesitantly says she'd...maybe...like to see Whitestone again.
    Laudna: [weakly] Stay close...?
    Imogen: Always.
    • Laudna almost breaks down over seeing Whitestone reborn. Matt's narration is impossibly tender and loving. He emphasizes how the first thing Laudna sees is color, and life, and the laughter of children. For the first time in nearly thirty years her memories of a generally happy and loving childhood are stronger than her memories of the occupation. She even asks to approach the Sun Tree, resplendent in autumn colors, and can't keep from crying at how different the living city is from the twisted vision Delilah trapped her in.
Laudna: It doesn't feel real. Like this is still a dream, it's just this one's not a nightmare.
Imogen: This gets to be real now.
Laudna: ...Are you sure...this isn't one of her tricks?
    Imogen: I'm sure.
    Laudna: Do you promise.
    Imogen: ...Cross my heart.
  • Vex formally introduces herself to Laudna as soon as Pike confirms that she is Laudna and not Delilah. It's a brief exchange, but Laudna tells her that she is very pretty. Vex returns the compliment.
    • Percy introduces himself to Laudna, shortly after he's assured that she isn't Delilah. He apologizes to her on behalf of his family, and formally welcomes her home to Whitestone. He's typically awkward about it, which Vex lightly calls him on.
  • Laudna talks to a little girl at the Sun Tree. The girl agrees that she is "fun scary," and likes Pâté.
  • Laudna, trying her hardest to replace the memory of the Sun Tree in her mind with the one in front of her, touches it and is amazed by how warm it is. She convinces Percy to do the same, and while initially exasperated, he softens as he realizes how long it's been. He and Laudna have a brief conversation that shows how much he's been healing:
Laudna: I’m sorry for what the Briarwoods have done to you, too.
Percy: That’s what it means to be a survivor. To break the cycles.
    Laudna: To break the cycles.
  • Fearne tries to steal Pike's necklace, but Pike doesn't take it personally. She just gives her a wink and a knowing look. Orym is equally impressed by Fearne's attempt.
    Orym: You're incorrigible. And amazing.
Fearne: Well, no, I was just thinking, because—well, if we ever needed to bring somebody back again...it seemed it...the necklace seemed to help.
Orym: [takes her hand and leads her away from Pike] Alright, you. C'mon, c'mon.
  • In a mixture of funny and heartwarming, Pâté is now Laudna's familiar, meaning he can interact and talk with her and the others!
  • Vex expresses her sorrow to Laudna for what happened to her, and Laudna tells Vex that she reminds her of the elegant ladies that Laudna used to admire as a little girl. Vex, who herself used to be impoverished, abused, and a victim of racism, gently tells her to take care of herself, and gives her a protective ring. It's incredibly sweet.
  • Laudna quietly mentions that she doesn't want to sleep in Whitestone Castle, and leaves to sleep by the Sun Tree instead. The rest of the Hells immediately follow her.
Laudna: I don't want you all to sleep out in the cold...
Orym: Laudna, we just crossed the planet. I think we can camp with you.
  • Amongst the many things Eshteross left for the Hells, he gave them his recipe for his maple cookies.
    • He also writes that he actually enjoyed their company, and their willingness to face down their enemies made him unafraid to face his own when his death came.

Episode 39: The Momentum of Murder
  • When Laudna starts in on once again saying how much she owes the group for bringing her back and how she can't begin to pay them back. Imogen and Ashton shut her down by saying there is no debt, they wanted her back and thanking her for coming back since they would have missed her

     Episode 40: Compulsions
  • Ashton realising that labeling Orym the stable one is putting too much pressure on him, and tells Orym he can lean on him, as well as asking for their help if need be.
  • As Matt introduces a Chimera to battle the party, he makes an aside to note that Travis and Laura’s 4 year old son Ronin picked the monster.

Episode 41: Call of the Wild
  • At the start of the episode, Orym receives a message from Dorian, recorded by Robbie. He tells his friend how his heart aches that he can't be with them now, but still wishes him and the Hells safe travels.
Dorian: Oh, Orym. My heart aches that I cannot be there to help you. Find strength. Stay steadfast. Sending you fairer winds.
  • While silly in concept, F.C.G. wishes to be a were-fish just to be able to feel what water is like.
  • The group are very supportive towards Chetney and assure him he can pass his trials and will be there for him. During his actual trial when he loses his mind, the group do everything they can to call out to him. Some of them are even initially hesitant on fighting Chetney, not wanting to really hurt him.
    • Orym reveals a crude but mostly done wooden carving of a wolf he had been working on. Holding it aloft and calling out to Chetney, this causes him to falter, and a wisp of red smoke appears around him.

Vitro: You are not defined by what you were told your purpose was. You carve your own path. Besides, if you don't really have memories of anything before [F.C.G's creation in Aeor], then that's really not who you are.
    F.C.G: I suppose so. It's scary, though.
Vitro: Yeah. Being alive is very scary. Being conscious. Free will. Frightening. But also, worth everything.
F.C.G: I wish... I mean, it would be way easier if you were just to tell me that I was made to kill, and that's my purpose. Or made to heal, and that's my purpose. But if I gotta find my own purpose, that's... that's harder.
Vitro: You're not wrong. I wish I could offer you that sort of solace. But... you're more beautiful than a simple binary answer.

Laudna: How are you so sure that they're alive? Especially Imogen. You saw how all those red-eyed, moon-worshiping zombies were all reacting. What if she just got... I don't know. Vaporized, or blasted into space?
Ashton: If she got blasted into space, we'll go to space. If she got vaporized... It's not like we didn't fucking find you. There is nothing else until this is dealt with. This is what we do, is we bring everybody back. There is no failure in this. We are going to figure it out, because it's what matters. [...] Sure, we're not enough to save the world, but we can get everybody back. We are more than enough.
  • Orym and Deni$e have a talk as well, and Orym discovers that Deni$e's ex-fiancee is none other than his old friend Dariax. They talk about how neither one of them has anybody, and how they are already impressing each other with their skills and their character.

Just hearing that, as well as the knowledge that she’s home in Zephrah, draws out a sigh of relief from Orym.
  • Bells Hells seeing their new friends off, ranging from Deanna telling Chetney “I love you” to her and Fearne complimenting how good of a lay they each were, to FCG and FRIDA’s emotional parting, to Prism giving Laudna one final moment of solidarity and comfort.

  • After they leave Milo and the Krook House, Ashton and FCG have a serious talk. FCG is worried that Ashton might be suicidal, but in fact the opposite is true. Ashton is committing everything to the Hells and their goal, and he asks them all about FRIDA. He's overjoyed that FCG has finally gotten what Ashton was trying to give them the whole time.
    FCG A kiss?

    • Ashton goes on to reassure FCG about the strength of their bond. There will be rough patches, and they won't always agree on everything, but the two of them are family.
  • Imogen and Laudna go meet up with Zhudanna. Perfectly heartwarming in itself, but they then go do some shopping for her and talk more. Then we get the moment so many have awaited since the beginning of the campaign.
Imogen: I can't hear your thoughts.
Laudna: You can always have my thoughts. You don't have to read them.

She assures him that Whitestone will not be targeted, addressing him by his full name in fond exasperation the way only an old mentor and friend can do. It's clear they have a great deal of respect and care for one another, despite their completely different disciplines.
  • Orym coming upon Gwendolyn and offering to introduce her to his friends. The little girl is excited and "commands" Orym to introduce her. The Hells indulge Gwendolyn calling herself the queen of the house and Laudna attempts to appeal to the child's fascination with "scary" things. Unfortunately, the moment is ruined by Gwendolyn sensing Delilah's hatred through Laudna, scaring her.
    • The witches gently try to comfort Gwendolyn after she runs off. Imogen telling her that Laudna is really kind despite how she looks, Laudna offering to speak to Gwendolyn again if she wished, and Fearne giving her something to play with.
  • Amid everything that's going on, in the middle of a mass debate about whether the gods are even 'worth it' to save at all that tends toward the cynical, Orym is the only one with the simple compassion to tell the Matron of Ravens that he's sorry for the loss of her friend.

Chetney: If there's any part of you that wants out—whatever that means—you can always come to me.
    • He then offers an activity to help Fearne feel better: smashing all the windows they can find in the castle. This does end up cheering her up. Even Gwendolyn gets in on the fun.
  • Ashton, wandering around feeling sorry for themself, finds Percy in the gardens watching the chaos, and they get to talking. Percy gives Ashton some genuinely good and heartfelt advice—do what they can to make up for their mistake, punish themself as much as they need to without dragging down their friends, and surround themself with better people. Ashton is grateful, promises that they owe Percy one, and even asks Allura to tell him they said thanks before plane-shifting off to the Feywild.
  • Worried over Laudna's well being, Imogen wanders around Whitestone all night looking for her.
  • Laudna gingerly offers Ashton her version of an olive branch. A doll she managed to cobble together to look like Ashton. When she calls him a child, she explains that he had his childhood taken from him, and that he should embrace his child side. Ashton is nearly brought to tears as they gratefully hold the doll Laudna made.

  • Allura assuring the Hells that taking some time to regroup and work on their emotional state is just as important as their mission to get to the moon. Sure, the situation is very dire, but if they left in their current state, they may not be as focused as they could be as a team.

Episode 79: To Hurt Is to Heal
  • Orym finally gets a chance to talk to Ashton, which he confesses he didn't do the day before because he didn't want to just blurt out the first thoughts that came to mind. He quietly reassures Ashton that everyone in Bell's Hells cares about them, and that they're entitled to their emotions no matter what those emotions are. It ends with Orym kissing them on the forehead, followed by Ashton pulling Orym into a crushing hug.
  • Dangerous and unsettling as the first two of Nana Morri's scavenger hunt/team building challenges are, they have the desired effect of rebuilding trust and communication between Bell's Hells. The honesty challenge forces them to be open about their fears and insecurities to escape a leech infested swamp within a cavernous gorge; the communication challenge has members being led blindfolded and given verbal commands by teammates, along a narrow and winding walkway above a bottomless abyss, with many switchbacks and curves to navigate, obstacles in the form of thunder-wasp swarms to avoid or plow through, and penalties for cross-talk or getting too loud.
    • When Ashton falls at the last hurdle of the second test due to bad luck and poor rolls, Nana Morri returns him unharmed to the rest of the group and offers them a chance at a retry, albeit one with no safety nets, a five minute countdown clock and the path behind them crumbling out from under them. Orym volunteers, picks Imogen and Chetney as his guides and makes it through the maze without putting a foot wrong and with time to spare.

Episode 80: A Test of Trust
  • As Fearne is preparing to take in the shard, Imogen takes Ashton by their lava-hand, and kisses them on the cheek.
Imogen: I'm sorry you felt you had to hide your motivations and your feelings from us before.
Ashton: Yeah. It was nothing on y'all, it was just... Well, here's to old damage. May we all get the fuck over it.
  • After learning more about her own history and rebuilding her trust in the rest of Bell's Hells, Fearne decides to take the shard of Rau'shan into herself. And she does, in the garden of the home she grew up in, surrounded by her friends, found family, and Nana. She still takes massive amounts of fire damage, but thanks to healing from herself and F.C.G., Ashton's ring, and Orym's Potion of Heroism, she stays conscious the entire time.
    • F.C.G. uses a new ability, Scatter Vigor, to keep Fearne up by siphoning hitpoints from Ashton, but after a few times, he warns the Hells that if he does it again, he'll go into a rage. The others tell him to just do it, and F.C.G. trusts them enough to willingly trigger his berserk mode with the promise the others will keep him in check.
  • Ashton's shard gets activated when Fearne shakes his hand, giving him a titan-based Super Mode of his own.
Matt: As you release your grip and pull back, the orange glowing veins subside, but you feel this sense of strength and sturdiness that you've never understood until now. You feel like as a being that spent their life feeling broken and un-whole, for the first time in a long time, not just because of what power you found in yourself, but the people that surround you... you feel complete.
    • In a beautiful indication of their mending relationship, Ashton and Fearne proceed to run down into the heart of Ligament Manor to find a place to test their new powers, like two kids excited to play a new game.
      Fearne: Should we go downstairs?
      Ashton: ...Race you.
    • Rau'shan and Ka'Mort were said to have been lovers in the time that they were awakened and active in Exandria. Now, thanks to the efforts of Bell's Hells, the two of them have been able to find a way to be reunited and rekindle their romance through Fearne and Ashton respectively.

Episode 81: The Eve of the Red Moon
  • Keyleth assures Bell's Hells that she firmly believes they're the right people for the job, commenting that looking at them feels very familiar. Percy, smiling, adds "Why does it always take a bunch of assholes to get anything done?"
    Ashton (grinning): He likes us.
  • Laudna has a conversation with Keyleth, and the first thing she does is tell her she's "very pretty". She then asks if Keyleth is concerned about the man who saved her and was turned into the power source for the Bloody Bridge, and Keyleth can only say with conviction that they must set him free. Before she walks away, she tells Laudna she's sorry, and when asked what for, she simply responds "Everything".

Episode 82: Rush for the Bloody Bridge
  • Orym and Fearne both try to hang back to ensure everybody else makes it through the Bloody Bridge okay. Ashton decides that that's not going to fly, and instead grabs them both and throws them into the Bridge before stepping in himself.

Episode 86: Doorways to Darker Depths
  • Orym tries to try to contact Caleb on a whim... and discovers that Sending is working again. Neither he nor Imogen are able to contain their excitement as they immediately explain the situation to Caleb, then contact Keyleth to tell her about the portal to Ruidus.
    • After contacting Keyleth, Orym looks about ready to collapse out of sheer relief. In the middle of planning, he suddenly pulls Imogen into a massive hug.
    • As they're discussing their options, Imogen suddenly hears a different voice in her head... that of an extremely excited young woman who is friends with Caleb, who is overjoyed that Sending works again and burns an absurd amount of spell slots trying to get her messages across. The cast cheers at Jester making an appearance in the third campaign, and Laura especially looks very touched.
      • After a short chat, Jester promises Imogen that she'll hug her if they ever get the chance to meet in person.

    Episode 90: Mission Improbable
  • Sam's ad is heartwarming this time around. After setting off a false fire alarm to get everyone to leave the studio, Sam tries to reveal the cast's deep, dark secrets, like that Matt... is as nice off camera as he is on camera, and that whenever Taliesin goes to Burning Man, he has a habit of... taking newcomers under his wing to make sure they're safe and comfortable. Sam then decides to mess with Laura's dice to make her angry... only to realize he feels too guilty to do that, because she sends him funny TikToks all the time and it's the highlight of his day.
  • Due to the party split the seating arrangements were temporarily changed, putting Taliesin next to Ashley and Marisha next to Laura. Both pairs take advantage of this immediately — Laudna and Imogen are very physically affectionate, and when Fearne reunites with Ashton and F.C.G. after the explosion, a relieved Ashton immediately hugs her.

    Episode 91: True Heroism
  • On FCG's final day, they got to have a tongue, lick things, eat a pastry, and brought his friend back from the dead.
  • Fresh Cut Grass's Heroic Sacrifice. With the fight against Otohan is looking like it's going to end in a Total Party Kill, F.C.G.'s stress levels rise to a peak, and they finally understand that though they are made of metal and wire, they're still alive. With that, F.C.G. grabs onto Otohan and casts a 4th level Guiding Bolt on himself, detonating the Arcane Core that powers him and blowing himself and Otohan up, saving the lives of everyone else in the process.
    • F.C.G.'s last thoughts.
Sam/F.C.G.: I am alive. I am alive for the first time. And I am alive, not because I was made by D or Dancer or even the Changebringer. I’m alive because they made me alive. And it’s the connections that I made with all of them. And it’s a feeling of joy. And I’m happy to do this, because they saved my life and I’ll save theirs. [...] The last things I see are Bertrand, and Dorian... and FRIDA. I just feel connected to everybody. Some connections are made with wires, and some are made with blood, and some are made with bone... and some are made with wood. But they all matter. And even in this dark, dark cave, they make every day a smiley day.
    • Upon Matt's request, the cast pools their dice together to lend Sam the 20d8 he needed to roll for damage, symbolically providing support for FCG.
    • After the explosion, the Coin of the Changebringer is embedded into the wall, pointing the way to the exit. Ashton, F.C.G.'s closest friend, collects it immediately.
  • A small one that gets forgotten by the later events of the episode, but after Otohan destroys Chetney in one turn, killing him instantly though temporarily, Orym's reaction to seeing him is to whimper "Pops?" at the sight. While previously, Orym's genuine belief that Chetney might be his biological father has mostly been played for laughs by Liam and Travis, there's something heartwarming (and also tear jerking) about seeing how Orym does truly view Chetney as his father now, biological or not.

     Episode 92: Broken Roads
  • As the Hells are trudging back to the encampment, they take a moment to start processing their grief in a scene that is as tearjerking as it is heartwarming.
    • The Vanguard has hung the equipment and holy symbols of fallen clerics and paladins on iron spikes around their territory as trophies. When Orym finds a cloak adorned with the symbol of the Changebringer, he takes it off its spike and brings it with him in honor of the cleric they lost.
    • Laudna gives a teary-eyed speech to the rest of the Hells about living on in memory of F.C.G., and not letting their creators, divine or otherwise, tell them what they can and cannot be. She ends the speech by telling everyone she loves them, because she thinks they don't say it enough.
    • Ashton still isn't processing things very well, but in a moment of calm, observes that things like this always happen when a major life change is about to occur. He sounds sad but also curious when he wonders who he and Bell's Hells are going to be next.
