Like many "Shuffled" fics, the Total Reordered Series is a set of Total Drama stories created by Aya Williams that start the series over by switching around which characters debut in different seasons (along with adding two original characters and several Ridonculous Race cast members) to create a whole new story with new friendships, new romances, new alliances and new plotlines to follow.

Total Reordered Island introduces twenty-two teenagers to the first season of a brand new reality show. The cast consists of Alejandro (the Spanish Heartthrob), Amber (the Bookworm), Amy (the Mean Twin), Anne Maria (the Jersey Shore Reject), Cameron (the Bubble Boy), Crimson (the Goth), Dawn (the Moonchild), Duncan (the Delinquent), Ella (the Princess Wannabe), Ellody (the Genius), Geoff (the Party Dude), Harold (the Nerd), Jo (the Jockette), Kitty (the Selfie Lover), Lightning (the Athlete), Max (the Evil Wannabe), Noah (the Cynic), Sammy/'Samey' (the Nice Twin), Scott (the Deviant), Trent (the Guitarist), Tyler (the Clumsy Jock), and Xena (the Over-Logical Thinker). With several villains causing trouble, Jo making the first alliance in the series, Amber resisting her attraction to Alejandro and more, it turns into a crazy summer towards the finale where only one camper will win the hundred grand.

Total Reordered Action begins two days after the Race for the Case, where the sixteen contestants who tied are brought to an abandoned film lot for a chance to win a million dollars. The second season proves to be crazier than the first as one castmate is seriously injured, another tries to undermine a couple, and someone finds herself having to learn to stand her ground. Also included is the Aftermath show, where even there drama is present. Alejandro, Amber, Amy, Crimson, Duncan, Ella, Ellody, Geoff, Harold, Jo, Kitty, Noah, Sammy, Scott, and Trent compete this season and are joined by two new contestants; Gwen (the Loner) and Topher (the Chris Fan).

Total Reordered World Tour has sixteen contestants, along with two more newcomers, competeing for another million dollars in challenges taking place all over the world. Alejandro, Amy, Amber, Anne Maria, Dawn, Duncan, Ella, Gwen, Harold, Jo, Lightning, Max, Noah, Topher, Tyler, and Xena all return, and joining them this time are Brick (the Cadet) and Eva (the Iron Woman). Three teams are made, two contenders compete to ally with one of the newcomers, and the other develops a rivalry with someone.

At the start of the series, Aya confirmed that only the first three seasons would be written on the statement that the 13-episode seasons would not allow proper Character Development.

This series contains examples of:

  • Adaptational Early Appearance: Many Revenge of the Island, Pahkitew Island, and Ridonculous Race contestants and Alejandro appear earlier than they did canonically. Alejandro, Amy, Anne Maria, Cameron, Crimson, Dawn, Ella, Ellody, Jo, Kitty, Lightning, Max, Sammy, and Scott now debut in Island, Topher debuts in Action, and Brick debuts in World Tour. In terms of non-competing contestants, Ennui, Sugar, and Mary all appear as guests on the Aftermath.
  • Adaptational Late Appearance:
    • Even though Gwen first appears in Island, she is introduced in the special alongside Topher as an intern before debuting in Action.
    • Eva debuts in World Tour in this timeline, two seasons after she appeared cannonically.
  • Adaptational Nice Guy:
    • Believe it or not, Alejandro. While he remains one of the most cunning and strategic contestants with numerous enemies, his feelings for Amber cause him to hold back against her. In Season 2, Topher tries to negate this by eliminating Amber so Alejandro will become the season's villain, but even after he succeeds, Sammy is tasked by Amber to keep Alejandro from going full villain.
    • Geoff when hosting the Aftermath. Unlike in canon, where his Took a Level in Jerkass was strongly implied to be a result of the fame going to his head, here it's made clear that he's only doing it because the producers have threatened to replace him and Kitty if they don't go along with it, and even manages to put his foot down when they try to get him to do stuff that hasn't been cleared with legal.
  • Adaptational Sexuality:
    • In canon, Ella was only shown to be interested in guys due to her crush on Dave. Here, she's Ambiguously Bi due to her crush on Dawn and attraction to Alejandro.
    • Topher, who had been Ambiguously Gay, is actually gay here but is in denial about it.
  • Adaptation Name Change: All three teams in World Tour have different names; Team Victory becomes "Team Conquest", Team Amazon "Team Valkyrie", and Team Chris is Really Really Really Really Hot is switched to "Evil".
  • Adaptation Relationship Overhaul:
  • Adapted Out:
    • Word of God has confirmed that Revenge of the Island, All Stars, Pahkitew Island, and the reboot seasons will not be adapted here, focusing only on the original generation's seasons.
    • Blaineley is not involved in the World Tour Aftermaths. Geoff and Kitty explain that the producers tried to bring her on to increase the drama, but gave up when the two of them threatened to quit in response, not wanting a repeat of what happened when they replaced them the previous season.
  • Alternate Universe: This series is what canon-Total Drama would be like if only the first three seasons existed and certain characters had their debuts season switched, in addition to having two original characters join the line-up.
  • Amazon Brigade: Team Valkyrie, which is comprised of Amber, Amy, Anne Maria, Dawn, Jo, and Topher.
  • Arch-Enemy:
    • Amy and Trent become these due to Amy causing both of Sammy's eliminations, leading to Trent seeking revenge by getting Amy eliminated.
    • Humorously, Max considers Ella his own enemy since he's "evil" and she's naturally good. It results in him causing Ella's elimination in the first season.
    • Amber and Topher fall into this as Amber is Alejandro's girlfriend and initial Morality Chain while Topher hopes to bring out Alejandro's villainous potential.
  • Ascended Extra:
    • Both Trent and Noah last much longer than in canon Island, the former in particular being the runner-up.
    • In-Universe, Gwen and Topher go from interns working for Chris in Season 1 to full-on cast members in Action. Gwen even lasts far longer than she did in canon, reaching the final four.
  • Back for the Dead: Lightning is one of the returnees in Island, but he gets eliminated in the same episode he returned in.
  • Big Bad: Amy for Island, Topher for Action, and Xena for World Tour.
  • Big Bad Wannabe: Jo plays the part in the first two seasons, as her cutthroat attitude, lack of social connections, and mistreatment of all her allies (along with her mole status in Action) lead to her downfalls.
  • Bridal Carry: Alejandro carries Amber this way to the infirmary in order to treat the bee stings she got during Season 1's cooking challenge.
  • The Cameo: Several of the canon competitors who aren't part of the Reordered universe pop up as surprise webcam guests during the Aftermaths:
    • Ennui appears during Crimson's interview during the first Aftermath wanting to see if she's truly happy with Noah.
    • Sugar appears during Ella's interview during the second Aftermath spewing her usual Ella-hate.
    • Mary appears during Ellody's interview during the third Aftermath gushing over her recent Relationship Upgrade with Harold.
  • Cassandra Truth: During his short run in Season 3, Harold tries to get Xena to confess that she left Ella stuck to a pole in the Yukon. While Xena admits it, everyone but Brick thinks it was an accident due to Ella being drenched from falling in the frozen river.
  • Chekhov's Gun: In "If You Can't Take the Heat...", Noah agrees to help Trent get Amy eliminated in exchange for him voting off whoever Noah chooses later. Noah would use Trent as a swing vote to get Alejandro eliminated in "Camp Castaways".
  • Coming-Out Story: Two in Island.
    • Ella finds herself falling for Dawn since she fits all the qualities for a classic fairy-tale prince, but she hesitates to accept her feelings out of traditionalism.
    • Xena comes to find that she isn't interested in romance due to not being an emotional person or finding the idea of sex appealing. Kitty helps her see that she's asexual since she's not interested in physical relations.
  • Commonality Connection: Sammy ends up finding one with Alejandro due to their older siblings bullying them.
  • Composite Character: In Action, Jo takes both Courtney's role as the contestant who sues her way into the competition and Owen's role as Chris' mole among the cast members.
  • Crush Blush: The big indicator that Amber is interested in Alejandro despite trying to deny her feelings for him.
  • Demoted to Extra:
    • Canonically, Cameron was a finalist in his first season and lasted past the merge in his second. Here, he only competes in seven episodes before falling Out of Focus.
    • Scott only lasts for three episodes in his second season compared to All-Stars where he reached the Final Three.
    • Kitty and Trent (who were the finalists in Island) are eliminated early in Action. Meanwhile Sammy (the winner of Action) doesn't qualify for World Tour, nor do the former two.
    • Max canonically lasted to 5th place in his only season; here, he's the first boot in both seasons he participates in. Averted in World Tour when he becomes an official troublemaker at Chris' request.
    • Harold did fairly well in canon, with his worst season on record being World Tour where Alejandro tricked him into quiting the competition. Here, he does poorly in the first two seasons, but lasts to "Broadway, Baby!" in Season 3.
    • Tyler does even worse in this version of Island as Alejandro manages to cause his elimination in"Dodgebrawl".
  • Disc-One Final Boss: Alejandro ends up being eliminated at the Final Five in Island thanks to Noah, allowing Amy to take her place as the season's villain.
  • Emotionless Girl: Crimson, as always, and Xena, who doesn't see the point of having emotions at all.
  • Everyone Can See It: During Season 2, it becomes clear to everyone that Topher's interested in Alejandro except for Topher himself.
  • Explain, Explain... Oh, Crap!: After being told by Jo to stop being friends with Dawn in "Phobia Factor", Ella says in the last confessional that she won't because of how she feels around Dawn before realizing what she was about to say.
Ella: (confessional) I don't care what Jo says. Dawn is sweet and kind. I feel lighter than air around her. It's almost like she's my-(eyes widen) I have some thinking to do…
  • Genre Savvy: Amber quickly catches on to Alejandro's advances towards her being an attempt to manipulate her. However, her attraction to him counteracts her resistance to him.
  • The Ghost: Kitty constantly mentions her older sister Emma, and even finds comfort in Noah because they're so alike.
  • Green-Eyed Monster: According to Dawn, Topher has it out for Ella because she's the most popular member of their band.
  • Grew a Spine: Once Sammy returns and has confirmation that Trent likes her for herself and not because he pities her like Amy tells her, she becomes determined to beat her sister at something.
  • Hidden Depths: In Island, Noah shows a vast knowledge in poetry, being able to recite Emily Dickenson off the top of his head. He uses this talent to respond to Crimson's interest in him.
  • Hostile Show Takeover: In the third aftermath, the producers fire Geoff and Kitty as the hosts and replace them with Scott and Anne Maria, who are more willing to follow their orders and more lethal methods of getting answers. However, it only lasts until the end of the episode as they're forced to comply with the fans' demand to give Geoff and Kitty their jobs back.
  • In Spite of a Nail:
    • Geoff and his girlfriend are still the first ones voted off in Action and go on to host the Aftermath.
    • Trent and his girlfriend still serve as team captains for the Killer Grips and the Screaming Gaffers, respectively.
    • Gwen and Duncan still end up becoming a couple.
    • Harold and Trent form a band between seasons and Harold's leaving the group causes their fall from fame.
    • Despite Team Chris being the third and final team to be created in Season 3, Tyler ends up being a member.
  • Irony:
    • Scott, the most untrustworthy member of the Killer Bass, gets eliminated in "Who Can You Trust?", where the challenges were based around trust.
    • Jo (who acts as The Mole in Action) gets eliminated in the same episode where Owen (who played the part in canon) returned.
    • In trying to make Alejandro be a villain, Topher ends up becoming the Big Bad of Action.
      • The following season, Topher (who's gay) ends up being The One Guy on a team of girls.
  • Insult Backfire: At one point during the Island special, Scott tells Max he's as "evil as a bunny". Max takes it as a compliment since rabbits are pests in Australia.
  • Laser-Guided Karma:
    • For causing both of Sammy's eliminations, Amy gets eliminated in Island thanks to a dare from Sammy which leads to her losing the left half of her hair.
    • Topher makes it all the way to the finale in Action, but because of his villainous actions (mainly trying to get Alejandro to become a villain) he loses the million to Sammy, the last person standing whom Alejandro was close to.
  • Loophole Abuse: Despite being an intern, Topher takes part in the Race for the Case. When Gwen says he can't do that as only the contestants are eligible, Topher points out that Chris only said whoever brings the million dollar suitcase to the Dock of Shame wins and Chris will allow any loopholes to be exploited.
  • Love Is a Weakness: Jo singles out Amber on a constant basis because of her attraction to Alejandro, deeming her as a liability to the Gophers. Once the merge hit, Amber tells her to shove it and they become enemies.
  • Mistaken for Gay: Because of Lightning misgendering Noah, he thinks this applies to him for dating Crimson and vice-versa.
  • Mistreatment-Induced Betrayal: Once Amy learns that Jo intends to get her eliminated a second time in Island because Jo decided she's outlived her usefulness, Amy decides to vote her off. Amy only succeeds thanks to Alejandro's alliance.
  • The Mole:
    • Just like Owen in canon, Jo takes on this role for Chris during Action. Ironically, she gets exposed and eliminated in the episode Owen returned in in canon to begin said mole plot.
    • After Max once again becomes the first contestant eliminated in World Tour, Chris allows Max to stow away in the cargo hold in exchange for causing trouble amongst the other contestants.
  • Mythology Gag: Early on in "The Sand Witch Project", Gwen and Duncan have the same conversation gushing over their love for horror movies that they had at the beginning of "Hook, Line and Screamer" in canon.
  • Non-Gameplay Elimination: In "Basic Straining", Alejandro rigs the votes to send Dawn home so she can't warn Ella about his true nature.
  • Not Helping Your Case: In "Who Can You Trust?", Amber checks on Alejandro while he's in the medical tent in secret. When confronted about it, she claims that she was checking on Jo but it's clear she's a Bad Liar.
  • Official Couple: Sammy/Trent, Geoff/Kitty, Alejandro/Amber, Crimson/Noah, Dawn/Ella, Duncan/Gwen, and Ellody/Harold.
  • Once Done, Never Forgotten: Scott's history of being a Team Killer makes everyone see him as an untrustworthy teammate and results in his early elimination in Season 2, despite having done nothing to hinder his team.
  • Only Friend: Amy sees Ella as such, for Ella is the first person to treat Amy as an individual rather than a package deal with her sister. Dawn later becomes her friend by association since she's dating Ella.
  • Pet the Dog: Despite Kitty throwing away her Island winnings for the chance to win a million in the Race to the Case, Chris still has half her winnings given to her sister Emma's college fund like Kitty had planned with the money.
  • Plot Allergy: In "The Sucky Outdoors", Xena reveals she's allergic to rabbit fur and asks Dawn to keep Bunny away from her. Chris uses this as her fear the following episode.
  • Positive Friend Influence: As the first real friend Amy's ever had, Ella helps to make her be a better person. However, Dawn says it works both ways as Amy's toxic influence could have a negative effect on Ella if she keeps being friends with the evil twin. Ella decides it's Worth It, and Amy at least becomes tolerant of her.
  • Precision F-Strike: Duncan drops an F-bomb in his elimination clip upon learning there's an aftermath show.
  • Running Gag:
    • Like in canon, Lightning mistakes Jo for a guy. He doubles down on the gag by mistaking Noah for a girl.
    • Noah sleep-cuddling with someone of the same gender.
    • Max announcing that he's the most evil contestant and someone either denounces his claims or tells him to shut up.
  • Sarcasm-Blind: Xena's reliance on logic makes her unable to tell when someone's being sarcastic.
  • Straw Vulcan: Original Character Xena has this personality. The author even describes her on their user page as what it would be like if Spock appeared on Total Drama.
  • Team Killer: Scott uses this in Season 1, causing his team to lose several challenges until Alejandro and Xena catch on and get him eliminated.
  • Team Member in the Adaptation:
    • Tyler is placed on the Screaming Gophers in Island.
    • Duncan and Gwen are both selected by Trent as teammates for the Killer Grips in Action.
    • In World Tour, Alejandro, Duncan, and Noah end up on the first team, and Gwen and Harold end up on Team Chris.
  • Token Evil Teammate: After Scott's eliminated, Alejandro becomes this to the Killer Bass. Next season, Amy becomes this for the Killer Grips after Scott leaves, and Amy's replaced by Jo after she comes back and joins the team.
  • Token Good Teammate: Regarding Jo's alliance, Ella is the only kindhearted member compared to Jo and Amy.
  • Touché: When the Bass and the Gophers merge, Duncan has Geoff give Noah a bear hug to mess with him. Noah gets revenge by getting Duncan voted out soon enough, and Duncan leaves impressed with his tactics.
  • Two Girls to a Team: Both Team Conquest and Team Chris in World Tour have the girls outnumbered 2 to 1 by their male teammates; Team Conquest has Ella and Eva, while Team Chris has Gwen and Xena.
  • Vitriolic Best Buds: Duncan and Noah start out messing with each other but come to respect one another without actually befriending each other.
  • You Remind Me of X: It's strongly hinted that Alejandro's wanting to help Sammy stand up for herself during Action is a result of seeing himself and José in her and Amy and officially confirmed in "2008: A Sammy Odyssey".
  • Your Mom: Instead of casting a vote in the Action finale, Duncan writes this as an answer just to troll Chris into saying it.
