The Ghosts

    In General
A team of vigilantes formed to take out terrorists and oppressive regimes.
  • Anti-Hero Team: All of them are willing to kill dozens of people and cause massive property damage to make the world safe.
  • Badass Crew: Ragtag Bunch of Misfits they may be, all of them are among the best in their field and it shows with their combat abilities and strategy.
  • Faking the Dead: All of them have faked their deaths to join the team.
  • Only One Name: Those who choose to reveal their names only reveal their first names.
  • Ragtag Bunch of Misfits: They come from all walks of life: A genius billionaire philanthropist, a former spy, a Professional Killer, a thief skilled in Le Parkour, a doctor, a driver, and an ex-Delta sniper. And as to be expected with such a ragtag team, they're not quite accustomed to each other yet and often argue in the middle of missions.
  • Tomboy and Girly Girl: The two women in the group: CIA agent Action Girl Two (Tomboy) and Medic Five (Girly Girl).
  • Vigilante Militia: Their entire purpose, as they operate outside borders and strike at oppressive governments and terrorists deemed untouchable by law, working as a coordinated team.

    One

One

Played By: Ryan Reynolds

A billionaire who made his fortune in neodymium magnets.

  • Authority Equals Asskicking: One proves he's no slouch in the asskicking department as he takes down numerous foes in Hong Kong and Turgistan.
  • Disappeared Dad: One has a son in New York whom he hasn't met, until the end of the film at least.
  • Everyone Has Standards: He's appalled by Three beating Murat when they're supposed to be rescuing him, to the point of dropping his usual snarky attitude.
One: Fuckin' sick prick. 'I'm so sorry.
  • First-Person Smartass: His narration contains a certain amount of snarking and mockery.
  • Good is Not Nice: He's rather abrasive in personality, and if you can't get out of a situation, he'll leave you to die.
  • The Leader: "One" is of the Mastermind and Charismatic types; he makes the plans and personally recruits team members.
  • No Name Given: His name is not mentioned at any point.
  • The Team Benefactor: His fortune is the main thing funding the Ghosts.
  • Wealthy Philanthropist: Before becoming a vigilante he's seen visiting an aid camp he plans to donate money to, although one of the people there speculates it's also a Photo Op with the Dog for him.

    Two

Camille/Two

Played By: Mélanie Laurent

A former CIA spy.

  • Action Girl: A highly skilled killer.
  • Apologetic Attacker: To Murat in the flashback, saying she begged her boss not to take that course of action.
  • The Atoner: The Turgistan mission is important to her as she handed Murat Alimov over to his brother. Now the team's breaking him out.
  • Battle Couple: With Three as they fight side-by-side in Las Vegas, Hong Kong and Turgistan.
  • Handicapped Badass: Two manages to take out several Mooks in Florence while in the middle of being operated on by Five.
  • Rogue Agent: Used to work for the CIA, although it's unclear what she did aside from handing Murat over to his brother.
  • Ship Tease: With Three. It quickly becomes canon when they have sex after finishing off their targets in Las Vegas.
  • We Have Ways of Making You Talk: When the Ghosts need to interrogate someone, Two is called up.

    Three

Javier/Three

Played By: Manuel Garcia-Rulfo

A former hitman.

  • The Atoner: It's heavily implied that he joined the team to make up for his past as a sicario.
  • Badass Driver: He's the Ghosts' secondary driver (upgraded to primary after Six's death), and proves his mettle multiple times in the film.
  • Battle Couple: With Two; the two are paired up in every mission outside of the first.
  • Even Bad Men Love Their Mamas: He visits his senile mother, who is ashamed of him.
  • My God, What Have I Done?: Had one of these in his backstory when he met a little girl... right after he killed her father. It only gets worse when he asks where her mother is and is told she doesn't have one.
  • Perma-Stubble: Typically has a day or two's worth of stubble to indicate his grim profession.
  • Professional Killer: Used to be one of these before joining the Ghosts.
  • Running Gag: Trying to learn the language of whichever locale the Ghosts are in.
  • Ship Tease: With Two. It quickly becomes canon when they have sex after finishing off their targets in Las Vegas.

    Four

Billy/Four

Played By: Ben Hardy

A former thief.

  • Distressed Dude: In two of the three missions, he gets into life-threatening situations where he requires help from one of the other team members.
  • Grenade Launcher: Uses one to kill four Mooks in a car in Florence.
  • Le Parkour: Highly skilled at this, as he scales dozens of stories in this manner.
  • Roofhopping: Part of his role in the Action Prologue is running down the dome of the Santa Maria del Fiore Cathedral.
  • Ship Tease: With Five, and they begin a relationship at the end of the film.
  • With Friends Like These...: In his flashback, at least one of his two surviving crew members was more concerned about retrieving their valuable necklace than about the fact that Billy fell off a roof and might be dead.

    Five

Amelia/Five

Played By: Adria Arjona

A doctor.

  • Flat Character: While most of the rest of the Ghosts get a flashback delving into their past (with the exception of Six because he dies early), almost nothing is revealed about Five apart from her name.
  • The Medic: Her role in the team. Doesn't quite reach Combat Medic as she mostly doesn't participate in the action.
  • Non-Action Guy: While the rest of the Ghosts fully participate in killing, Five mostly stays out of the line of fire until needed, except for a field surgery and gassing an apartment complex where Murat is being kept.
  • Pink Is Feminine: She's the more overtly feminine team member compared to Two and calls dibs on the pink ballistic gas mask in Hong Kong.
  • Ship Tease: With Four.

    Six

Six

Played By: Dave Franco

A driver.

  • Burial at Sea: The Ghosts put him in a body bag and dump him in the ocean.
  • The Driver: His role in the team, and the film opens with him trying to extract the team from a job in Florence.
  • Impromptu Tracheotomy: Killed when he crashes into a forklift which impales him through the throat.
  • No Name Given: Thanks to being a Sacrificial Lamb, Six's name is unmentioned.
  • Sacrificial Lamb: Killed to show how dangerous the Ghosts' missions are. He doesn't even make it past the opening scene.
  • We Hardly Knew Ye: Thanks to getting killed so early, we learn nothing about him.

    Seven

Blaine/Seven

Played By: Corey Hawkins

An ex-Delta Force sniper.

  • Big Damn Heroes: In Hong Kong, he saves Four's life by gunning down a Mook about to beat him to death.
  • Big "WHAT?!": He lets out a surprised and upset reaction upon finding out that the team only has one (somewhat unsuccessful) mission under their belt after he's faked his death to join them.
  • Friendly Sniper: Looks out for the other team members from a long range.
  • From Camouflage to Criminal: An ex-Delta sniper, now a Vigilante Man.
  • Military Brat: Somewhat; his grandfather is mentioned as being a soldier who died at D-Day.
  • Only Sane Man: Objects to some of One's policies as being unnecessary and dangerous.
  • Survivor's Guilt: Suffering from it when he didn't receive clearance to take out a car bomber before two of his comrades got killed. One of the reasons why he joined the Ghosts was that One promised him that he could follow his conscience to take a shot.

Other Characters

    President Rovach Alimov

President Rovach Alimov

Played By: Lior Raz

The President of Turgistan.

  • 0% Approval Rating: Nobody in his country seems to like him, thanks to his tyrannical policies, and readily defect to Murat when given the opportunity.
  • Bad Boss: Has the second-in-commands to his top generals executed out of suspicion.
  • Bald of Evil: He's a President Evil who's bald on the top of his head. Contrast with his brother Murat who has a full head of hair and is miles more sympathetic.
  • Beard of Evil: He also has a day or two's worth of stubble.
  • Big Bad: The central antagonist of the film.
  • Cain and Abel: The Cain to his brother Murat's Abel. Rovach keeps him alive, but Murat's "bodyguards" are only there so Rovach can keep an eye on him, or kill him if need be.
  • Even Evil Has Standards: Played for Laughs when he criticizes the tacky shirt one of his men is wearing.
  • Karmic Death: One dumps him in the middle of the refugee camp he massacred, and the refugees beat him to death.
  • The Paranoiac: Given that he has the lieutenants to his top generals thrown off a building on the mere suspicion that they killed their bosses...
  • President Evil: He's a dictator who regularly gasses refugee hospitals and orders his military to open fire on the population when a rebellion breaks out. He even orders his chauffeur to run over civilians in his path when he tries to flee.

    Murat Alimov

Murat Alimov

Played By: Peyman Maadi

President Rovach Alimov's younger, nicer and more popular brother.

  • Cain and Abel: He's the Abel between him and his brother Rovach; he hates his brother's policies and intends to change them once he's in power.
  • Gilded Cage: His life in Hong Kong; it's a very nice penthouse, but the guards are there to keep him there or kill him if he tries to escape. It is even lampshaded as such.
  • Loved by All: All it takes is a video from him to incite the populace to revolt against his brother and a meeting with the military brass to get them to stand down.
  • Noodle Incident: Why Two handed him back to Rovach is never explained, outside of the fact that the CIA (via Two) was involved.
