The Team

    Ava Winters

Ava Winters

Played by: Shelley Hennig

  • First Girl Wins: Ava met McKnight first, and she ultimately gets together with him.
  • Freudian Excuse: Ava was engaged to an MI6 agent, who was captured and tragically killed during a mission that went awry. Because of this, she maintains a rigid no-nonsense demeanor to her team as a mechanism defense to cope with he loss.
  • High Heel Hurt: After the team gets called back, and are walking into the military base to be briefed, she face-plants due to wearing high heels and being very drunk. They get her a pair of boots to wear for the rest of the mission.
  • Jerkass Has a Point: Ava may be very frosty to her team and she really is remorseful when Maya gets the wrong conclusion about her and Chad, but she's understandably fed up with Maya's childish behavior toward her everytime she brings it up, especially when they are back on duty trying to locate a bomb that threatens the lives of innocent people, and all this girl does is complain that Ava "betrayed" her.
  • Little Black Dress: Her attire for most of the show.

    Chad McKnight

Chad McKnight

Played by: Nick Zano

  • Chick Magnet: His attractiveness catches the attention of both Ava and Maya.
  • Heroic Sacrifice: While he and Ava are trying to climb the elevator shaft, Ava is attacked by one of Anastasia's soldiers who grabs her by the shoe. When McKnight is unable to get him off of her, he makes the hard decision to sacrifice himself by making the soldier let go of Ava, resulting in him and the man falling off hundreds of feet to their presumed deaths. They are both revealed to have survived the fall, and McKnight finishes the goon off by leaving him to be crushed by the elevator when it reaches the top floor.
  • Momma's Boy: He has a close relationship with his mother, as shown when he calls her after the mission is supposedly over to tell her how much he misses her, with Ava in earshot. Also, there's a flashback at the beginning of Episode 5 when they are watching Hercules (2014) together, which stars Dwayne Johnson.
  • Moment Killer: McKnight manages to ruin things with Winters mid-coitus by saying "I love you".

    Trunk

Trunk

Played by: Terrence Terrell

  • Fun T-Shirt: Spends most of the show wearing a sleeveless hoodie (a gift from McKnight) that says "This Is What Happens In Vegas" with an arrow pointing down at his genital area.
  • Groin Attack: Gets a drill slowly inserted into his urethra, with the mook torturing him threatening to turn it on.
  • Manly Gay: Trunk is big, strong, and macho. He doesn't exactly make a secret of his sexuality, but since he never actually came out to him, McKnight never realised (as Gomez points out, McKnight just saw Trunk as a larger version of himself, and Trunk didn't want to let his friend down).
  • Twofer Token Minority: Black and gay.

    Angela Gomez

Angela Gomez

Played by: Paola Lázaro

  • Butch Lesbian: Is quite tomboyish and is unashamedly attracted to women.
  • Cold Sniper: Is pretty cold and efficient as a sniper. She admits applying that mindset to other aspects of her life can make her mess up.
  • Twofer Token Minority: Hispanic and lesbian.

    Hagerty

Hagerty

Played by: C. Thomas Howell

  • Ambiguously Bi: Is completely okay with fucking women he just met, but he also has No Sense of Personal Space concerning Paul.
  • Bunny-Ears Lawyer: He's a whackjob who needs to listen to music before disarming a bomb, but he's also undoubtedly the only person who can safely deactivate the nuclear bomb.
  • Fan Disservice: His Male Frontal Nudity at the party in the first episode, then his bare feces-stained buttocks when Maya has to clean him by a fountain.
  • Fingore: Lost his right thumb in an explosion in Tel Aviv a few years prior. He sees it as a badge of honor.
  • Has Two Thumbs and...: Does it after he disarmed the bomb in the first episode, except for the "two thumbs" part.
Hagerty: Who has one thumb and just saved Las Vegas? THIS GUY!
  • Kavorka Man: Is an elderly man, but his hedonistic tendencies didn't stop him from catching the attention of two attractive women at the party where the team was celebrating their initial success with deactivating the nuke, and Yani, whom he met at a local yacht party shortly after regaining consciousness, courtesy of Maya inadvertently leaving him adrift in a river while lying on a raft.

    Maya Lerner

Maya Lerner

Played by: Kimi Rutledge

  • All Girls Want Bad Boys: Maya is very attracted to the belligerent, rule-breaking alpha male McKnight.
  • All Love Is Unrequited: Has a huge crush on McKnight, who is way too old for her to date. She gets upset and acts like an asshole to Ava after catching them together. She eventually loses interest in him and lets Ava be happy with him.
  • Asian and Nerdy: She is rather nerdy, to the point Chad calls her 'Tech-Chick'.
  • Beware the Nice Ones: Don't be fooled by her awkward personality, as she's not too afraid of speaking her mind when it comes to blowing on Ava after she and McKnight were caught having sex, overcoming her fear of scorpions in a life-or-death situation, or even arming herself to face a bunch of bad guys, not that it goes too well for the last one. Even McKnight was impressed by how she let all her emotions out.
  • Bowel-Breaking Bricks: Recreates the whipped cream bikini scene from Varsity Blues in an attempt to seduce McKnight, only to catch him and a half-naked Ava together. Cut to a shot between her feet of a cherry slipping off her boob and hitting the floor.
  • Broken Pedestal: Tears into Ava with this speech after catching her and McKnight together, revealing how she admired her but now thinks of her as nothing else but a phony, especially after that touching conversation they had during the party.
Maya (to Ava): You know, I actually looked up to you, but you're full of shit. That's why you work undercover, because you're so good at lying. Bitch.
  • Cassandra Truth: Doesn't initially believe Ava trying to warn her that Sharonda is a spy working for Koslov and wants to dispose of her.
  • Embarrassing Hospital Gown: When she walks out of the ER, barely recovering from a morphine induce coma, she exits the hospital only wearing a gown with her butt on full display. Later, Ava tells her she should get some pants, but she answers she actually likes the breeze (clearly still being affected by the morphine).
  • Everyone Knew Already: When she has an "Eureka!" Moment while in a medically-induced coma and rejoins the team to tell them that Lana is actually a Russian double agent, the team answers they already knew since last episode.
  • Graceful Loser: Accepts that McKnight is not the man of her dreams and gives her blessing to him and Ava.
  • Meaningful Name: Maya Lernernote  is the team's youngest and least experienced member. Though she certainly gains a fair bit of experience during the mission.
  • Never My Fault: Behaves unprofessionally most of the time to Ava at the beginning of the mission, blaming her for "stealing" McKnight from her, not acknowledging that she was blinded by her own insecurities of not being taken seriously by the team as well as her unrequited crush on McKnight.
  • Took a Level in Jerkass: Behaves unnecessarily mean and disrespectful to Ava after seeing between her and McKnight what she thinks is an attraction to each other. Ava has had enough of it whenever Maya brings it up and tells her to focus on the mission instead of whining over some man who is too old for her. Maya eventually grows out it.
  • Trauma Button: Maya has to relive the trauma of her failed attempt to seduce McKnight with the whipped cream when the male stripper sprays it all over his penis, which causes Maya to break down in tears.
  • Ungrateful Bitch: Even though Ava and the team saved Maya from Koslov's associate Sharonda, this wasn't enough for Maya to get over the petty grudge she has against Ava for "stealing" McKnight from her.
  • You Are Better Than You Think You Are: Maya is given at least two speeches of this by both Gomez and Paul. Even a male stripper she just met understood what she was going through and encouraged her as well.

    Captain Paul Yung

Captain Paul Yung

Played by: Eugene Kim

  • Ace Pilot: Zig-zagged. Normally, he is, but because of all the hallucinogens in the guacamole he ate, he winds up crashing the helicopter. Later, once the drugs wear off, he's back to his normal skill level by the finale, where he is evading heat-seeking missiles, and also trying to keep the helicopter steady so Gomez can take out the guy firing at them.

Russians

    Ivan Koslov

Ivan Koslov

Played by: Costa Ronin

    Anastasia Koslov (ALL SPOILERS UNMARKED

Anastasia Koslov

Played by: Alyson Gorske

  • Alas, Poor Villain: After Ivan is killed by Ava, Anastasia lets out a Big "NO!", drives off in her motorcycle and mourns her deceased brother. Although she was the one who killed Ivan, even Ava is sorry for her.
  • Big Bad: The ending of Episode 6 reveals that she's the mastermind behind the nuke, making her the main villain of the show.
  • Big "NO!": Anastasia screams one out after Ava kills Ivan when he attempted to shoot Mc Knight.
  • Bitch in Sheep's Clothing: Lana. She introduces herself as a typical Dumb Blonde and partying girl who insists on helping the team in every way she can with the mission, despite being repeatedly and understandably sidelined because she's a civilian. Shortly after she is let go by Ava, Episode 6 reveals that not only she lied about her name, but also is the mastermind behind the nuke and her real name Anastasia, Ivan Koslov's sister.
  • Even Evil Has Loved Ones: Anastasia Koslov’s (Lana) main motivation for her plan is revenge against the United States for an air strike that killed her and Ivan’s parents. When Ava kills Ivan, Anastasia is left weeping for her brother.
  • Evil Costume Switch: Once Lana/Anastasia reveals her true colors, she changes from the blue party dress she'd been wearing so far for a black leather outfit.
  • Faked Kidnapping: Lana/Anastasia is revealed to have orchestrated her own kidnapping inside the bedroom so Ava wouldn't suspect her.
  • Line-of-Sight Alias: Anastasia goes undercover as an influencer and civilian named Lana Kirkwood to infiltrate the team.
  • Ms. Fanservice: She is first seen bound and gagged in a very revealing black sex outfit. Later on, when she and Trunk are kidnapped by Koslov's men and locked up in a sauna, leaving them to be fried to death, she removes all of her clothes.
  • Put on a Prison Bus: Anastasia is defeated by Ava and arrested (off-screen) for her crimes.

    Vlad Litvin

Vlad Litvin

Played by: Ivan G'Vera

FBI

    Ferguson

Ferguson

Played by: Michael Landes

  • Armor-Piercing Question: While he's scolding the team over their irresponsibility, Ava tries to defend herself and the others by pointing out that they were doing their jobs once the mission was back on. But Ferguson throws in her face the fact that they had Koslov's sister Lana/Anastasia right under their noses the entire time and didn't even notice, asking her if that is her definition of doing her job. Ava cannot answer.
  • Boom, Headshot!: He is shot in the head by Anastasia in his attempt to shoot Ivan, killing him shortly after his men in the tunnels are killed too.
  • Hero Antagonist: He sidelines the team due to their incompetence in handling the mission, although it is partly justified. Ferguson wants to stop Koslov as much as they do, but while that doesn't stop him from being a jerkass, at least he is the sanest agent left on the field.
  • Insult Backfire: After he relieves the team of their duties for the him and the FBI take over the mission instead, Gomez insults Ferguson calling him "a fucking clown". But he simply replies "Do you see me laughing?" before leaving.
  • Jerkass Has a Point: While removing them from the mission for the FBI to take over was not the best call, Ferguson had plenty of reason to be mad at Ava and her team over the wild party they had and how irresponsibly they handled the situation.
