Welcome to the Trope Pantheons thread! Please read the rules:

    Rules
Rules. The following are not suggestions or tips, but things that have to be followed:
  • When writing a profile, take note of the following:
    • Gods cannot be followers or high priests for obvious reasons. The 'gods' have ascended meaning there is no need for said character to be a follower of another if they have ascended.
    • No hype profiles, please. 'Hype Profiles' are profiles that have been made out of ongoing events and have not been around for a long time. This creates 'hype' due to popularity and certain elements either through certain scenes, memes, dramatic acting or considered overly awesome. They are not bad tropes but building a portfolio solely for that is a bad idea, as they do not say a thing about representing the trope best (unless it's those trope concepts that they are trying to embody for a long time)
      • You can see one if the profile is only showing off how awesome they are or suddenly pushing how 'significant' they are thanks to the just very recent events rather than respecting the longstanding good representations of the trope. And usually having... minimum portfolio or flavor texts and being a bit too generalized or self-contained to events from within their home series instead of interacting with other Pantheon members.
  • When posting in the forum, take note of the following:
    • When you suggest a God, please explain why they fit the trope. Not everyone is going to understand just "X should be the God of Y because they exemplify the trope" off the bat, especially if they're unfamiliar with the work.
    • You must use the Trope Pantheons discussion thread in the forums if you wish to add a new deity, story, something else of importance to the Trope Pantheon canon, or reworking an existing deity (be it simply improving their existing profile or changing their title).
      • For new and reworked deities, 3 [tup] means the profile will have a one week waiting period.
      • For new and reworked deities, 4 [tup] is a 3 day waiting period.
      • 5 [tup] is an automatic ascension for new and reworked deities.
      • Speaking of reworks, for anyone that wants to improve such profiles, they have to review the current trope the character(s) has and see if it still holds up or if there is a better rep for their trope.
    • For adding new Treasures to The Great Treasury or new Dominions to the Dominions, the following rules apply:
      • For new Treasures or Dominions, 3 [tup] is a 3 day waiting period.
      • 4 [tup] is an automatic addition to the Great Treasury or Dominions.
    • Do not repost a profile in the forums more than twice in a day if noticeable changes have not been made in between. If a profile is posted a third time in a row without noticeable alterations, it will be downvoted. This is so spamming of no-effort profiles is less frequent and to prevent tropers from getting aggravated seeing the same profile over and over. The minimum acceptable change has to be a single flavour text.
    • The Pantheon is not a mouthpiece for you to voice your opinions on certain characters. You may like certain characters more than others, but do not make the mistake of making profiles for characters you like look like Character Shilling.
    • Tropers new to the Pantheon are barred from approving or downvoting profiles until they have ascended at least two profiles.
    • Do not include fan reception in any profiles. It has nothing to do with the character themselves and will create unnecessary conflict.
    • Write a detailed explanation on why the character is the best candidate for deity of that trope. If people disagree with you, do not force it on the people.
    • Keep in mind that if you still want to try to find a trope for a particular character, you are only given three chances to find a particular trope for them. If a suggestion goes past three possible tropes, then it will come off as shoehorning a character into the Pantheon just for the sake of that character to be there.
      • On a related note, even if a character does have a free trope being suggested, there is still a limit of three attempts for suggesting that character for that trope. If no one responds to that certain proposal after being posted three times, then it will get to the point where the idea will be seen as being shoehorned into the Pantheon. In addition, the idea needs to be considered acceptable and approved because they are good, not for the sake of pitying others because no one is responding to their idea.
  • When posting Pantheon related stuff to the wiki, take note of the following:
    • Do not put a link to these Pantheon pages into the main wiki page. The moment you want to add in a main Characters page that the character is a God of this trope, do not do it. If you see leftovers of this practice, inform the forum and use the cutlist. This also goes to the Trivia page. The only exception to this rule is if a page in the Pantheon could be confused for a page in Main, like Good Colors, Evil Colors and Good and Evil Colors.
    • Rule of Cautious Editing Judgment ALSO applies here. Do not bring things that would incite fights, even if it is what is currently the hot topic and might be 'urgent'. For example, the political scene and some really bad politicians. We are not here to fight at each other, so don't suggest things that go to that direction, this is a fictional Pantheon after all.
    • To add a Pantheon page for a certain work, 4 or more characters coming from the same series/franchise should be ascended before adding the page. For Creator specific pages, 4 deities coming from the same creator and 2 individual work pages coming from the same creator is the minimum to warrant a page.
    • Do not create a trope page for a story until the story is fully completed.

    Instructions and Tips
Here are some tips one should keep in mind when editing:

  • Preparing to write:
    • First thing to do before present a profile is to go to the Trope Pantheons discussion thread. In the forums, you must discuss with other users on adding ideas and seek their approval with sound reasoning. You can also get some assistance in the forum thread by either asking for help and those interested asking if they can help. Submissions that are added without discussion are likely to be deleted and those who violate those rules by adding Pantheon content without discussion will get reported to the mods.
    • If you feel the need to remove a character for some reason (poor quality, outdated titles, etcetera) and replace him/her with another or outright rework, please see what the other tropers think about this in the discussion thread before doing anything hasty. Use good reasoning to see if your idea can easily replace the character present without drawing out your statement or giving too ambiguous claims most do not understand.
    • Please be sure to consult others in the discussion about what you want to work before making the profile. This is done to see if your proposal is the best representative and so, in case your profile is turned down, you do not waste time writing something that others might not find suitable.
      • In the same vein, if you adopt a profile from another troper, it is recommended that you make an announcement that you have done so on the discussion thread. More often than not, a trope that was reserved for something was given away to someone else. Check the Related tab on the top of a page to see if a trope or character has been reserved by a user.
    • If, for whatever reason, you are writing about a God who just happens to be a person in real life, just try to be very careful about what you decide to say. Do not try to make the editing seem too meta (self-referential) and use the aformentioned creativity to create hypothetical scenarios towards fictional characters.
  • When writing a profile for a character, here are a few things to note:
    • All deities should be sorted by their divine ranking. Put Overdeities on the top of the page and Quasideities on the bottom. Also be sure to add them in alphabetical order by their first/given name (can be reversed if it is Eastern ordered). For a group, if there is no official name for them all list down all their names by order of relevance or (if too long to list) title them as Insert Name Here Main Characters or some other identifiable title along the same lines.
    • The maximum number of tropes that a god can have is two, but do not try to abuse that fact. If you need to use a second trope to specify a certain thing about their position, that can be excused either because said character represents their trope choice very well alongside the first trope. It is still generally encouraged to only have one trope.
    • A trope can only belong to one profile at a time. The only time two profiles can share a trope is if there are explicit variations listed in the trope page proper (e.g. Muscle Angst is held by both Biscuit Krueger and Chihiro Fujisaki as the former represents "Too Much Muscle" and the latter represents "Not Enough Muscle")
    • If the character you are about to add to a House already exists in another, make sure to mention that this person has spots in other House as well. Up to 2 places can be made for a deity, with the sole exceptions being those at the Main House to highlight those characters’ importance to the Pantheon’s lore.
    • For a character's theme song, try to avoid calling it "Theme of God X" or "Theme of (Show where God X originates from)". If possible, try to find out if the song has an actual name through research. Most importantly, it has to be part their series’ official soundtracks from media. Do not list songs that are made by fans or outside sources. If they were not specifically used as music for that specific character, then they do not count. Furthermore, it has to be a general theme specifically made for that characters’ appearances, not some generic music that plays for many other instances not related to the character in question.
    • For images, when adding an image for your chosen character, it is highly recommended to use a stylized image that embodies the character or renders that also highlights a character’s behavior (such as cool poses). Most images should be from the main adaptations of the character, unless the images from the other media are of a higher quality than the adaptation. Unless it is needed, do not use fanart for images. If you are, please attribute to the original artist. Due to the website’s dark mode, removing white backgrounds from an image is paramount. This website is suggested to do the background removal. If an image you have takes up too much bytes, it is suggestible to use this site to reduce the byte size. If the byte is still too big, put the compressed image to other sites (or even the same one) to compress even further. Use wikias to look for better images, as even wikias for the series might not contain good official images.
    • Creativity is your friend. While it is not recommended to get too ditzy at your ideas, it is best that when writing a profile for a certain character, do you think of capable scenarios between X and Y. Tip: do not use shallow examples (X wields a sword and Y wields one too) and try to think of relationships that makes sense (i.e those characters that are shout-outs for another).
  • Pantheon Content:
    • Some series or genres will eventually have greater representation in the Pantheon than others. This is unavoidable, but a little diversity helps to make you not look like a shill per say. Try to ensure that if you add a deity from a popular series, make sure that it is because they are a good representative for the trope in question, and not just because they are connected to another deity in their respective canon.
      • As far as deities from actual mythologies, there is generally expectation to build the profiles off interactions from fictional portrays rather than basing it entire from the actual myth. Therefore, a mythological deity should be more of a Composite Character whose main identity is from the actual myth.
    • Occasionally there will be Gods that carry a title without a trope. This is not forbidden, but it is well advised not to abuse them. The only house that a tropeless profile are wholly allowed is the House of Food. Mainly due to most food items lacking tropes, and adding tropes about said foodstuffs is slightly unnecessary. However, the character being ascended for their choice of a food, or food-related thing must be a decently good representative of said item. (i.e their Trademark Favorite Food, or something that they are closely associated with In-Universe, or both).
    • For Dominions and Treasures profiles, always consider what made those places/objects popular in the first place. Were they plot-important, identifiable imagery or have a unique aspect of it? Do not just bring regular objects under the basis of following a certain canon.
  • For Profile Standards:
    • Flavor text is used to describe certain things about a character, place or object. To avoid short ones, it is recommended to write flavor text with 4-7 sentences that can fill around 2 lines each. Be warned that adding too many sentences does not equal good flavor text as it is not an essay of sorts (unless words are substantial and do add to the overall line).
    • Character Profiles of a certain person should have the following:
      • A portfolio that contains at least 7 (at the minimum) tropes describing their character.
      • Flavor text count for a deity profile should have by minimum, 10 (depending if the character in question has enough relationships/characterization) to 15 with a maximum of 20-25 for an individual profile.
      • On the other hand, group profiles (profiles of a group that has 4 or more members) have their maximum flavor text count to 15 minimum, giving individual lines for the other members of the group (unless the members are not as characterized) up to 30 at max.
    • Dominion profiles of a certain place should have the following:
      • A portfolio that contains at least 5 (at the minimum) tropes describing the context of the place.
      • Flavor text count should range at least 10 to 15.
    • Treasure profiles (inanimate objects without a trope) should have the following:
      • A portfolio that contains at least 6 (at the minimum) tropes that describes the object itself.
      • Flavor text count should be at least 7 flavor text up to 12 to constitute a treasure profile.

    Divine Ranking System
  • Overdeity: Omnipotent-level Reality Warpers capable of manipulating the entire universe (or at least the world) at will. Within their own universe they are believed to be omnipotent, or at least impossible-to-completely-destroy embodiments or concepts.
  • Greater Gods: High-level Reality Warpers and that are extremely powerful (capable of destroying or changing anywhere from a large city to a planet at will) and very strong non-reality warpers capable of doing the same thing.
  • Intermediate Gods: Deities at this level are capable of strong but specialized powers such as hydrokinesis, pyrokinesis, etc. without major drawbacks and low level Reality Warpers capable of affecting their immediate area at will.
  • Lesser Gods: Capable of highly specific or little power on their own, or suffer from Power at a Price. However, they may be able to ruthlessly exploit their power or combine it with just being badass enough to make up for it.
  • Demigods: Basically the Badass Normals of the pantheon, making up for their lack of abilities with strength, strategy, and/or planning.
  • Quasideities: Any otherwise normal human, human equivalent, or below without any special powers or training will fall here.

    Templates
Template for adding a new deity:

God X, God/dess of (Insert Trope Here) (Alternate names/Nicknames, Fan Nickname)

  • An image, if possible. Please use official art or a screenshot for a picture.
  • Rank: This can range from Quasideity, Demigod, Lesser God, Intermediate God, Greater God, to Overdeity, based on representation of power mentioned above.
  • Symbol: An image or icon used to represent the deity.
  • Theme Song: Official song (in other words, no fan music, regardless of quality) that usually is used in affiliation with the character. If the deity is a musician this will most likely be their Signature Song. If possible, give a link for reference, preferably on either a website like Soundcloud or YouTube.
  • Alignment: Good, evil, neutral etc. Forget about The Great Character Alignment Debate here, the Pantheon is one of the few places where you can assign Dungeons & Dragons alignment to characters that don't have alignment system. After all, the Pantheon is based on D&D and is made for fun.
  • For Pokémon deities only:
    • Gender: Defines the gender of the Pokémon; if genderless, it instead defines what gender they identify as.
    • Ability: Provides the Pokémon's ability. If they can Mega Evolve, the new ability is listed as well.
    • Moves: Defines the four moves used by a Pokémon. A Z-Move may also be listed.
  • Portfolio: Tropes associated with the character.
  • Domains: Things that the character has influence over.
  • Herald: Non-ascended loyal character that is from the same series as the ascended character.
  • High Priest: Non-ascended like heralds, but not from the same series, and can serve as a worthy replacement in case something would happen. They can be served as part-time workers in case the originals are busy with some jobs. Co-Godhood is accepted depending on the approval of the originals, usually if the co-deity is from the same series.
  • Followers: Non-ascended characters that are not part of the Pantheon, but would probably worship this character by the fact that they share the ascended character's trope.
  • Relationships between ascended characters go here with your chosen character, it goes something like this:
    • Allies: Members of the Pantheon that are allies, those that share the same values as them and would theoretically be friends with them.
    • Rivals: Members of the Pantheon that are rivals, people who may look at your character with suspicion or a challenge.
    • Enemies: Members of the Pantheon that are foes, those who would see your chosen character as a threat, either on their pespective or yours.
    • Additional Character Relationships: Members of the Pantheon that do not fit in various relationships (examples include Enemy Mine, Vitriolic Best Buds, Teeth-Clenched Teamwork, Headbutting Heroes, Friendly Enemy, Friendly Rival, Just Friends, etc.), allies, rivals, or enemies.
    • Partner: Defines a partnership with an ascended deity and Mon-type. (if any)
    • Feared by/Fears: A deity whom the members of the Pantheon notably fear or are feared by.
    • Respected by/Respects: A deity whom the members of the Pantheon respect or are respected by.
    • Opposed by/Opposes: Not necessarily the same as "Enemies", but this is used for any deity whom the members of the Pantheon directly opposes or is opposed by (basically the opposite of "Respects") terms of certain viewpoints, regardless of alignment.
    • Pitied by/Pities: A deity whom the members of the Pantheon feel pity for or are found pitiable by.
    • Conflicting Opinion: Sometimes, the Deities argue over specific themes and philosophies.
  • Add the Intro. The intro is made up of two trivia, the Ascension Text (or just the Ascension) and The Bio. Both are necessary, but which order you use for them may vary depending on the profile in question. It may be better for one profile to have The Bio first and the Ascension second or vice-versa, although for the most part the order is irrelevant:
    • The Ascension Text: This the story of how the character got into the Pantheon and/or was ascended. There are many ways for this to happen. They may be tricked into it or have simply wandered into the Pantheon, they may have had an already ascended character bring them in, they may already be in the Pantheon (via being another deity's Herald or sharing a trope) and got "promoted", or some combination of the above. Anything is possible in the Pantheon, so use your imagination, but try to incorporate their trope into the story, if possible.
    • The Bio: A brief synopsis on the character's backstory. No need for the character's entire life/production history, but just give enough that those who don't know the character can get an idea of how the character works.
  • Now add some random trivia/facts about events/alignments/moments/fights/friendships/relations etc.
  • And some more trivia/facts.
  • And a couple of more.
    • Note: Standard amount of flavor text for Deities/Characters is 10-15 (15-20 for group profiles) at minimum to 20-25 (30 for group profiles) at maximum.

Template for Dominions profiles:

Place X, Place of (Insert Trope Here) (Alternate names/Nicknames, Fan Nickname)

  • An image, if possible. Please use official art or a screenshot for a picture.
  • Theme Song (Optional): Not important as compared to Deity and Dominion profiles but a notable mention if there is an accompanying song in use with the object.
  • Alignment: Refers to the dominion's role in their story, be it those used by villains or used by the Player Character.
  • Portfolio: Tropes associated with the dominion.
  • Domains: Things that the place has links to.
  • Relationships (Optional): Unless the location has a connection with a specific deity, relationships are optional and may not be required. However, if there are deities linked to the same series as where the dominion is linked to, note them using the relationships, this includes deities that theoretically have interest with said dominion, good or evil otherwise.
  • Add the Intro. Here the introduction of the Dominion is added with some tidbits regarding the origins of its' creation and usage in the story. You can also add what made it popular/iconic/important here.
  • Now add some random trivia/facts about events/alignments/moments/fights/friendships/relations etc.
  • And some more trivia/facts.
  • And a couple of more.
    • Note: Standard amount of flavor text for Dominions is 10 at minimum to 15 at maximum.

Template for Treasure profiles:

The name of the item in here (Alternate names/Nicknames, Fan Nickname)

  • An image, if possible. Please use official art or a screenshot for a picture.
  • Appearance: A shortened description of the item's looks with some notable features also mentioned.
  • Class: Refer to the Treasure Classification System in the Great Treasury.
  • Alignment: Refers to the objects' role in their story, be it those used by villains or used by the Player Character.
  • Theme Song (Optional): Not important as compared to Deity and Dominion profiles but a notable mention if there is an accompanying song in use with the object.
  • Museum Check: A note that says whether the item is viewable by the public.
  • Portfolio: Tropes associated with the item.
  • Domains: Things that the item has links to.
  • Relationships (Optional): Unless the item has a connection with a specific deity, relationships are optional and may not be required. However, if there are deities linked to the same series as where the item is linked to (especially the original owner of the item), note them using the relationships, this includes deities that theoretically have interest with said object, good or evil otherwise.
  • Add the Intro. Here the introduction of the Treasure is added with some tidbits regarding the origins of its' creation and usage in the story. You can also add what made it popular/iconic/important here.
  • Now add some random trivia/facts about events/alignments/moments/fights/friendships/relations etc.
  • And some more trivia/facts.
  • And a couple of more.
    • Note: Standard amount of flavor text for Treasures is 7 at minimum to 12 at maximum.

Zechs has been axed.

Heel–Face Revolving Door is taken by Harry Osborn.

Also, when I edited Fictional Expies, I got a "too long" warning. The warning isn't there at the moment (the page is at roughly 224,000 bytes long after the profile removal), but I do get the feeling that something will need to be done at some point about the page since a longer profile or two getting added will make the warning come back.

[up] Looking at the page, Kotori Itsuka's profile also looks bad and she shares Fiery Redhead with Stella Vermilion since the former used to have Shana Clone before it was disambiguated. With how poor her profile is I think Kotori can be axed too. I'm also thinking that Shinobu Oshino can be removed since she's already in Vampires and Vampire Lolita Archetype's expy qualities feel more distant than the other expy tropes (most examples don't feel as connected and recognizable to the original example, Remilia Scarlet).

Speaking of pages with the too long warning, Death Archetypes has it with around 270K bytes, and I'm thinking of moving Jeanne (Belladonna of Sadness) to Executions since Burn the Witch! is more about how someone dies than who dies.

[up][up] Yeah, it is taken. But on account of its mediocre to poor quality, I think Zechs Merquise replacing him can be in order.

That said, I won't mind the deletion. I'll rework Zechs' profile from scratch.

Not sure right now how we would deal with preventing those Halls from becoming too big. I'd be happy to hear ideas

What should I add to these profiles?

The Millennium Items

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/sennenitems.png
  • Hall: Artifacts Library
  • Appearance: Different golden items, almost all identified with an eye symbol
  • Class Level: 4
  • Museum Check: Cleared
  • Alignment: Neutral Good and Chaotic Evil (the Millennium Puzzle and Ring respectively). The other items are True Neutral with potential for evil
  • Portfolio: Artifact of Doom, The Result Of Sacrificing a Village, Shadow Games, Ancient Egypt
  • Domains: Magic, Sacrifices, Souls, Darkness, Gaming, Mystery, Curses
  • Soul Jar for: The Other Yugi/the Nameless Pharaoh (the Millennium Puzzle), Dark Bakura/the Spirit of the Millennium Ring (and by extension, Zorc Necrophades) (the Millennium Ring)
  • Deities that have wielded the item: Yugi Muto (the Millennium Puzzle), Ryou Bakura (the Millennium Ring), Pegasus J Crawford (the Millennium Eye), Marik Ishtar and Dark Marik (the Millennium Rod)
  • Source of interest: Edward and Alphonse Elric, Van Hohenheim, Father and the Homunculi, Lord Voldemort, the D'arby brothers (in general), Bender "Bending" Rodriguez (the Millennium Eye), Isis (the Millennium Necklace), the Phantom Thieves, Razputin Aquato (the Millennium Key), Ammit, Osiris, Anubis (the Millennium Scale)
  • The Millennium Items date back over 3000 years, commissioned by the pharaoh Akhenamekhanen to protect Anceint Egypt from an invading army. Made by his brother Akhenaden, these seven items had various powers, all sharing the ability to perform the dangerous Shadow Games. Their creation was soaked in blood, however; the 99 residents of the thief town Kul Elna were sacrificed to make them. This was the Start of Darkness for the Thief King, and it's what allowed the monster Zorc Necrophades to begin his scheme to cover the world in darkness. The Nameless Pharaoh sealed the darkness away, and eventually the items would be dug up in the modern day.
  • Applies to the artifacts as a whole
    • Following the passing the Nameless Pharaoh true name Atem, the items were buried deep underground...at least until Kaiba dug them up as part of his scheme to have one last, definitive duel with his rival. He refuses to go into detail as to how that went, instead having Kaiba Corp make a delivery of the Millennium Items to the Great Treasury. Interviewers attempted to get an answer for why but he wasn't available for an answer. The only thing known is that before the overhaul of the treasury they used to be artifacts in the pantheon, but were removed in the overhaul for some beauacratic reasons. The current display is supposed to have all seven, but the Millennium Ring is almost always missing from it because it is taken/linked to Yami Bakura. The Millennium Puzzle is normally on loan with Yugi, due to its ties to the Nameless Pharaoh. While the other Millennium Items can be loaned to other deities, permission is required and they are items not to be trifled with.
    • Created from blood sacrifice following instructions of the Millennium Spellbook, together the seven items have the ability to summon Zorc Necrophades to the mortal world. Their ability to initiate Shadow Games and dark magic associated with them gives the items great potential for evil, though except for the Millennium Ring none of the items are evil persay. A comparison could be made with the Fullmetal Alchemist with how the Philosopher's Stone is made, except the Items don't contain still-screaming souls. The Elric brothers and their father are trying to make sure Father and his homunculi don't try to pilfer the items, and make sure if the Spellbook is ever ascended it's kept lock and key to make sure nobody tries to make more Millennium Items. There is a rule against using the Millennium Items in the House of Gaming to prevent any Shadow Games, and even outside of that their abilities would allow someone to cheat at the games. The D'arby brothers think it's a silly rule given their own abilities are similar to the Shadow Games, and despite everything they've done their position in their house is secured.
    • According to Shadi three items (the Key, Scale and Necklace) represent justice, three items (the Ring, Rod and Eye) are weak to evil and the Puzzle represents both evil and justice. Because of their dark background and potential for evil they're of interest to the GUAE and the GUAG. Also, their dark history has been yet more fodder for Linkara's jokes about how Ancient Egypt is evilnote . They're of more interest to the House of Magic and Sorcery, mainly because the various members of the house are seeking to use their powers for good, ill or just because they're useful. The House of Death and Postmortem, namely its Psychopomp leaders, feel they should keep an eye as all together the seven Millennium Items are a necessary part in allowing the other Yugi to move on to the next life.
    • Before being put in the Great Treasury Jack Spicer tried to take them to have a leg up on his and the Xaolin Dragons' rivalry to obtain other mystical artifacts; in their case the Shen Gong Wu. Both parties are wondering what kind of stuff they could do by combining their power with Millennium Items; for example, wearing the Millennium Necklace and the Crystal Eyeglasses could give the wielder near perfect prescience. The Symphogear wielders have been comparing them to Relics, ancient weapons and objects created through the lost art of heretical technology that inspired many myths and folklore, and their own gear is sourced from fragments of those relics.
    • The items do not respond well to the unworthy, usually killing them (sometimes worse). Indiana Jones was pretty Genre Savvy in treating the Millennium Items gingerly, emphasizing that they belong in the pantheon's museum and should be kept in the Great Treasury. Any discussion with him that they should have their power combined with another artifact just frustrates him. Some D-Class schmuck was given a test to bring the Key near the Ark of the Convenant, which ended with him and the foolish researches who ordered it becoming pillars of salt...who'd have thought the Abrahamic God wouldn't like these blood sacrifice Egyptian relics near the Ark? Ahkmenrah has stated that he wants them to be kept separate from his Tablet as he's wary of how they might affect another Egyptian magical artifact.
  • Applies to the artifacts individually
    • The Millennium Puzzle and Ring are unique since, as already mentioned, they contain the spirits of people. The Puzzle is notoriously hard to solve in large part due to Yami Yugi's influence and has a more general purpose of enhancing skill, accessing and protecting from magic. The Ring can find what the wielder is looking for like a compass, but benefits are outweighed by the malignant evil in the item. Even without Zorc or the Thief King, it's still corruptive. Voldemort was fascinated by these items since they work as a sort of Horcrux variant, though the abilities and how they function as "horcruxes" is somewhat different. He doesn't intend to steal them because he can't make a horcrux over something already "occupied" like they are, but it has inspired him to try and steal the other Millennium Items and make them horcruxes. Zorc is intrigued by this since it could allow him to influence Voldemort, but he and by extension Yami Bakura refuse to let him co-opt the artifacts.
    • The Millennium Eye lets you read people's minds. Admittedly useless for telepaths like the Martian Manhunter unless you want to play a Shadow Game, but pretty useful for anyone wanting telepathy. It's only got two downsides. One, if someone can pull a Memory Gambit like flipping between different personalities they can cheat the system. Two, it requires an empty eye socket. This wasn't a problem for Bender that time he managed to steal the Eye, calling Pegasus "a lightweight meatbag" as he could just unscrew one of his eyes and plug the artifact in. He freaked out a bit when he saw the spirit of the Countess de la Roca, much as how Pegasus saw a vision of his lost love, but got over it. Bender almost won a big poker game until he went up against Fry, who's mind still couldn't be read even with a magic artifact. The Eye was later recovered from a nearby trash can and returned to the museum.
    • The Millennium Rod has perhaps the most potential for evil since not only is it used for mind control, but it also has a sharp end to stab people with. Marik set up a rumor that it can only control people named Steve and can be used as a lightsaber, but no-one really bought it and he admitted he made it up for a lark. However, strong enough Heroic Willpower can allow one to break out of control. The Hall of Mind Control wonders if their own techniques could somehow enhance the item. Death Phantom muses that compared to his own power of Mind Manipulation, it might as well be glorified metal, but Jervis Tetch thinks it's a neat secondary means of control and looks fashionable. There was a test to see if it could entrance someone already entranced by the Hypnotoad; it succeeded, but the Hypnotoad simply stared and mind controlled
    • The Millennium Necklace's role was formerly used by Ishizu Ishatar, and way back in the day her previous life Isis. No, not the goddess, she just happened to share the name. The actual goddess is interested in it, but more as a glorified piece of jewelry as her own divine powers overshadow the Necklace. It's main ability is to see the future, and also the past. However it still has its limits, and its abilities are obscured by other millennium items. Though Ishizu never had any intent to use it for Shadow Games, if she ascends she still cannot be expected to use it in the House of Gaming as it could be seen as a form of cheating. How effective the Necklace is can fluctuate wildly; tests from the House of Prophecy shows it's highly effective in deterministic settings but useless in ones that break fate. Anyone wearing it within the House of Time and Temporality will suffer a migraine due to the conflicting laws of time inevitably present there.
    • The Millennium Key stands as the only Item to lack the eye symbol on it. It allows you to unlock and enter somebody's mind. It's comparable to what the Phantom Thieves and Razputin Aquato are capable of, however Yami Yugi's amnesia caused his mind to come off as some labyrinth. Some poor Arkham guard tried to use the Key to enter the Joker's mind in order to figure out what was wrong with him, only to be lost in a maddening MC Escher-esque carnival. Perhaps he should've been found as unworthy by the Key.
    • The Millennium Scale is perhaps the least explored of the Items, and like the Key was primarily in possession of the enigmatic Shadi. can weigh a person's sin against the Feather of Ma'at. While extremely evil hearts like Yami Bakura and probably the Joker too overwhelm it, most wicked souls can expect to face the wrath of Ammit eating them. Anubis has dryly mused that the Millennium Scale is basically a knock-off of the Scales of Justice he and Osiris use to judge the dead, jokingly wondering if they should sue for plagiarism. Judgement Bird muses it is fairer than the scale he possesses. Well, his used to be fair, but when someone pointed out the possibility of it never leaning toward one way the scale was rigged so it could always yield a clear verdict: guilty, and the execution method was lynching. The Millennium Scale tends to twitch whenever the Judgement Bird is near
    • The Pyramid of Light and Quantum Cube are considered by some unofficial Millennium Items, but aren't listed in the canon seven so they aren't officially listed in the Great Treasury. The former is basically an in-universe knock-off of the Puzzle that got co-opted by the sorcerer Anubis for his own purposes, also acting as a Soul Jar. The actual Anubis is embarrassed by the whole thing since he doesn't like some Generic Doomsday Villain giving him a bad name. The latter is "semi-official", and can send others to another dimension where they're doomed to disintegrate. Some SCP Foundation agents argued it should somehow join the canon seven, only to sheepishly admit it's yet another scheme to terminate SCP-682.

  • Annoyed by: Bubs
  • Suguroku Muto (or Solomon Moto if you're watching the English dub) is the grandfather of famed duelist Yugi Muto and owner of the Kame Game shop. In his youth he was an archeologist who visited the Valley of the Kings in hopes of finding the tomb of the Nameless Pharaoh aka Pharaoh Atem, being the one to find the Millennium Puzzle, though he was never able to solve it. Interestingly, in a past life he was that pharaoh's Grand Vizier, Shimon Muran, and wielded Exodia. Suguroku is a skilled player of games and a gambler who rarely lost, though one of the few times he did it led to him wearing overalls and retiring. Now he's content running his game shop, and serving as a mentor for his grandson Yugi. Occasionally he has gone out to play Duel Monsters like dueling with Jonouchi in KaibaCorps Grand Prix.
  • Yugi's grandfather was minded his own business, taking care of his shop on a quiet day where there weren't many customers. Everything seemed normal until he opened his mailbox and discovered an invitation to something called the Trope Pantheon. After the VHS tape Pegasus sent led to his soul getting stolen he was suspicious and asked Yugi if he knew if a trick was afoot, only to be informed that it was the same thing he and many of both his allies and enemies had joined. As a character defined by their familial relationship to another character, he was under consideration for the trope of Satellite Family Member. Suguroku may be in his seventies but he's not technologically blind and quickly adapted to using TV Tropes. His temple is Kame House, technically part of the House of Family and Relatives but functionally part of the House of Gaming as that's where his revenue comes from. For deities wanting to play Duel Monsters he's usually the one to check if they're looking for a more humble and friendly game shop. At his age he isn't ready to go on big adventures, though he is penpals with the retired adventurer Old Buran. You can find him in the Monster Sanctuary training new adventurers, which is what piqued Suguroku's interest.
  • He had met Judai/Jaden and friends "the long way round" at his card shop where even in his eighties he still was as chipper maintaining his shop. He helped guide them through the city in return, but unfortunately he got kidnapped by Thunder and Frost. Jaden and his friends managed to find and rescue him, and he gave them some hamburgers for their trouble. Overall, Sugoroku is generally friendly and doesn't hold a grudge, though he's still somewhat sore around Seto Kaiba and Pegasus; the former beat him and destroyed his Blue Eyes card, leading to him going to the hospital, and the latter stole his soul as part of his scheme. He's on speaking terms with them because they ultimately turned a new leaf, but they're otherwise neutral. Ultimately he only really opposes the unrepentant villains who threatened his grandson (and the world, given the scope of their plans). Yugi's grandfather is on really good terms with Exodia, interestingly enough. As mentioned, his previous life in Ancient Egypt had Exodia as his ka, and he used to have Exodia in his playset.
  • He's been trying to catch up with the protagonists of Yu-Gi-Oh series 5Ds and beyond, studying their adventures so he can better understand the later Duel Monsters meta. Yes their series are either far enough in the future he's probably passed of old age, and/or a different timeline altogether, but since he owns a Duel Monsters game shop he wants to be informed. He got some help with the updates and suggestions on how to boost sales from Aldo and Arnold. They were raised by their grandparents and are generally kind-hearted individuals, so they were happy to help. The two like swapping stories with the old man whenever they visit the shop for gaming accessories.
  • While he's retired from the archeology business, he still knows his stuff about Egypt and has stories to share with other archeologists. Him and Indiana Jones have become good friends discussing their past adventures, though Suguroku readily admits Indy has seen a lot more than he was able to. Him and Simon Petrikov are also friends, the latter having been an antiquarian who had studied some magical artifacts...sadly he spent the better part of a millennium driven crazy by one of them. With all the things he's seen of the Millennium Items and Shadow Games, he wasn't exactly surprised to learn the Egyptian gods were all too real in the Trope Pantheon. He's become quite interested in learning more about them, alongside the many pharaohs present asides from the Nameless Pharaoh. He's especially interested in Ahkmenrah, a Chummy Mummy who was brought to the land of the living thanks to a magical Egyptian artifact...he reminds the old man of Yami Yugi.
  • Suguroku's shop being called "Kame Game", basically translating to "Turtle Game", reminds a good amount of people of Muten Roshi. There's more than a few similarities between them; both are old, wise mentors of the protagonist, though Roshi has more of a role as the mentor, and they're both perverts. This isn't as obvious with Yugi's grandpa as his lechery was more an early characterization, but his interest in Vivian Wong and Otogi's cheerleaders wasn't exactly innocent. He still thinks Roshi is pervy, though to the older man's credit he's become better at controlling his lust. While they sometimes chat about beautiful women, most of the time they talk about their life experiences and how to give advice to those they care about. Roshi has decided to learn from him how to play Duel Monsters as a hobby.
  • He has somewhat of a rivalry with Comic Book Guy, come their mutual roles in the House of Commerce. He owns a major comic book shop of the Trope Pantheon, and Suguroku owns a major game shop. Comic Book Guy keeps trying to push advertisement for his shop over the old man, trying to get more customers. He was a bit annoyed to see a regular like Bart Simpson start to spend more pocket change at the Kame Game shop, causing the old man to quip "didn't you ban him?" Jeff simply responded with "we worked that out". While Yugi's grandpa is a bit exasperated by how much of a jerk Comic Book Guy can be, their rivalry is a harmless one and they'll sometimes show up at each other's shop to buy stuff from one another. Occasionally they meet up and chat, and/or snark, at the Kwik-e-Mart. Him and Apu seem to get along as small businessmen.
  • Brand X attempted to exploit the old man in hopes of pushing their awful, awful food products. Why him? Simply put, they wanted to look more appealing and "human". They propositioned him with an idea of becoming a promoter for Brand X food, by tying them with the games he sold. Suspecting them from the start, he asked the representative "could you taste test your food first?" That representative was nervous since he knew what their food taste like, so instead he decided to gamble and say "OK, let's decide it over poker. You win, I'll taste test it and we'll leave you alone forever. I win, you sell your game shop to us and we turn it into a market". Unfortunately for that representative Suguroku was a very lucky gambler and took some pride in seeing the representative prove how bad that proposal would've been for him. He got a high five from another shopkeeper, Uncle Chan, for pulling that off as it seems to have prevented them going after his business next. He's been interested in learning about Egyptian magic recently, and seeing another small business do well in the Trope Pantheon has made him smile.
  • As he's a friendly old man with a humble job, it's hard to really piss him off. Make jokes about him lusting over Black Luster Soldier and he'll just go "ah, I see you're a fan of that abridged series". Some people do piss him off, though. Though a bit of a pervert, he's far from the creep that Nobuyuki Sugou is. His abuse of the virtual world's gaming system and general sleaze-baggery made him permanently blacklisted from Kame Game. No, the fact he has no interest in Duel Monsters or the other games at his shop doesn't change that. He's definitely not a fan of Yoshihiro Kira either. For one, he's worried his Stand ability might cause some chaos if he gets access to Duel Monster cards, despite Yoshihiro saying "that's not how my Stand works you old fool!" More seriously, Yoshihiro is aiding and enabling his Serial Killer of a son and making Morioh a less safe place. The ghostly Stand user tried to defend his actions by saying he's making up for his wife's abusenote , only for Sugoroku to say that's a BS excuse.
  • While an expert gambler, Sugoroku Muto knows that eventually, your luck will run out. This is but one of many reasons why he has absolutely no interest in playing any game with the D'arby brothers, who he's naturally horrified by them gambling with human lives. Daniel at least finds his refusal to duel unfortunate, since he respect for his skill, but Telence is just an ass so he doesn't care. Yugi is glad they aren't trying to antagonize his grandpa outright since the way their Stands work is highly reminiscent of a Shadow Game. However Sugoroku is fine gambling for smaller wagers like a chocolate milkshake. Him and Tsunade decided to gamble over who pays for a month's worth of bento boxes with a game of Duel Monsters...Sugoroku won, though she insists that this was unfair because it was her first time playing Duel Monsters. They'll still make friendly wagers, just with more fair games. Recently he has been doing some bets with Uncle Chan over who can sell the most from their stores on a weekend.
  • Has a bit of a complicated opinion on Grunkle Stan. Sugoroku sees him as a troublemaker, a swindler a washout...but also a good friend, who reminds him of some of the stuff he got up to back in the day. Stan wishes that he did more higher stake gambling with him and thinks he's a bit of a washout, but this comes off more as friendly ribbing. While Yugi's grandfather is annoyed by Bubs and his swindling ways, he sees in Stan Pines a more devious version of himself but really fun company, who'll prove his worth when he needs to. The two like to swap stories, though the elder Muto admits he's got a lot stranger to say. One story both of them got caught off guard was Big Bird's, who dressed down Osiris when he refused to let a boy into the afterlife.

[up]Uncle Chan's VA also voices the Cabbage Merchant so Solomon could become friends with the Cabbage Guy. Moreover, given that Rebecca Hawkins is in the Pantheon, you definitely should add some interactions between the two.

First draft of Eike Kusch in. If there's an FMA fan I'd really like info and I need deities not related to Time and Temporality or else I'm just repeating my Aldo profile.

(also I did a check on Eike's voice actors; he has two of them, one is Yuri Lowenthal and the other one's only role was a character from Soulcalibur)

  • Pities: Homura Akemi

  • Commonality Connection: Luka Redgrave, Ben Tennyson, Heishiro Mitsurugi
  • In the year 1580, a man known as Wolfred Wagner tampered with alchemy in the hopes of finding a cure for his ailing wife. Unfortunately, his search ended in failure as his wife died four years later, also sending his children into despair. Through the use of the Philosopher's Stone, he managed to conjure a Homunculus and asked him to have a chance to redo his life all over again, but not before drawing a pentagram to seal the Homunculus back to where it came from. Homunculus cursed the immortality with memory erasure to ensure that Wolfred did start from the beginning and even destroyed Wolfred's alchemical lab for good measure. Thus, the younger Wolfred walked away, never to be seen again.
    • Fast forward to April 8th, 2001. In the city of Lebensbaum, Germany, a man known as Eike Kusch walks out of a café, only to be stabbed in the back and left to die. Eike then woke up in a strange afterlife chamber and was given an offer by a being known as Homunculus to escape his pre-determined death through a unique device called the Digi-Pad (or Z-Pad in another retelling) that let's him travel back and forth in time, but only to time periods within Lebensbaum that hold some sort of connection to him. With nothing left to lose, and not wanting to die, Eike begins his journey trying to avoid his death, dying, avoid his death again, then dying again, while trying to untangle the mysteries of who wants him dead, and why.
  • Eike Kusch went through multiple timelines to gather the information needed to stop Homunculus and the cycle of death and either gave the Philosopher's Stone to Wolfred to make a cure for his wife, or threw the stone at Homunculus that caused a Temporal Paradox and killed him. Regardless, he faded away knowing that he's finally free from his cursed life. In a new timeline, a descendant/reincarnation of Eike Kusch was now able to live a new life, leaving Lebensbaum for what might be the last time. This is where he encountered a stranger with a long scarf who asked him a question, "Do you believe in Fate?" Said stranger was Luka Redgrave, who was doing a report on Wolfred Wagner's studies of alchemy and asked for some questions. Eike tried to walk away, but Luka was ahead of him with his grappling hook, even handing Eike an invitation. After telling Eike that no, Luka wasn't going to kill him, Eike read the invitation to learn that it was an offer to become a deity in the Pantheon. Seeing as he had nowhere to go, Eike followed Luka to the Pantheon, where he gained the title of God who died at his story's beginning along with two temples to go with it.
    • Given how most of Eike's life prior to recalling his past as Wolfred Wagner is unknown due to his amnesia, the Master Builders were unsure as to how he'd want it decorated. So they decided to make it a combination of one of the houses in Lebensbaum mixed with some alchemical doo-dads back when he was Wolfred Wagner. Eike did make a suggestion for a painting of a juggler with a white mask. When asked why, he just said that "it reminded me of myself".
  • Eike's next move was to appoint some heralds, so he went and picked up the waitress Dana and Wolfred Wagner's children Hugo and Margaret. He then had the three of them sit down and had them explain the truth of why they were connected: Homunculus switched Dana and Margaret at birth, which explained why both of them felt like they never fit in, and that he was actually Wolfred Wagner in an immortal, youthful body. The three were shocked, but Hugo was devastated — he had been repeatedly been trying to kill his father this entire time. Eike just gave Hugo a pat on the head.
Eike: It's okay, Hugo. You had no idea. You don't have to carry this guilt anymore.
  • Due to his time-travel shenanigans, Eike's first stop was the House of Time and Temporality. There, he was amazed at how there were numerous devices to travel through time: phone booths, a DeLorean, giant contraptions, wrist gadgets, etc. He also learned that some gods had the innate ability to travel through time. One of the deities he bonded with was Max Caufield, who has the ability to rewind time but also has to deal with the consequences of her actions, the biggest one being whether she should let her friend live or die to prevent a storm from destroying her home. Another god he befriended was Hiro Nakamura, an Otaku who gained the ability to travel through time and was a huge fan of video games with time travel as a motif. Hiro was curious as to how the mechanics of the Digipad worked while Eike was a bit flustered at the fanboying.

[down]Ben Tennyson's connection is that both he and Eike wear green jackets and Ben has an alien that allows him to manipulate time. Meanwhile Mitsurugi is known for Walking the Earth and would be amused to learn how Eike has been traveling the world for 400 years but also pity that Eike couldn't remember what he did due to that amnesia.

EDIT: Actually I should edit the Ben Tennyson connection cause time travel is shown throughout the franchise. There's Professor Paradox (Ben 10's Doctor Who), Gwen tried to rewind time before Kevin was turned into his mutant form and the final arc of Omniverse is centered around time travel and Ben accidentally made Vilgax are of the Omnitrix, thus creating a Stable Time Loop.

[down][down][down]Oh RJ, I just remembered that Anri Sonohara has an antique shop in the Pantheon and basically lived alone due to Saika. Solomon would pity her and try to also be an adoptive grandpa for her.

[up] Speaking of FMA deities, Van Hohemhein is a 400 year old man who was manipulated by the homunculous Father into destroying his country Xerxes. The Cooper Gang should be potholed to the Hall they're in. By the way, we don't do interactions based purely off of shared voice actors, so if that's the only think Eike shares with the guys in the Commonality Connection section, then it should frankly be removed (Luka can stay given the fate thing).

EDIT: The Mitsurugi interaction idea sounds good but Ben's is a little more tenuous since "they wear green jackets" feels like a pretty shallow similarity to me.

[up]Asides from that I don't see enough to really tie them together

@ Camilla: I should probably point out we don't really do interactions based on shared VAs anymore

So I am thinking that with the trope Time-Traveler's Baby, do you think I should change John Connor's trope to it instead of his current trope of Time-Traveler's Baby, or would you rather someone new have that trope? The reason I bring this up is that I think he might fit it better, as the original plot twist is that he was fathered by the time travelling Kyle Reese who was trying to save his mom so he could be born, unknowingly filling John's Stable Time Loop gambit. However I want to hear out if someone has an alternate, newer choice for Time-Traveler's Baby first

Now that a month has passed since the Trope's creation, I propose we change the Frontier DigiDestined's associated Trope from Elemental Embodiment to Mon Mode.

While their transformations do use various elemental powers, they're ultimately closer in design and powers to your typical Mons than elementals, which tend to be composed of their respective element, have only a vaguely humanoid shape and have otherworldly if not feral personalities; rather than being full organic/mechanical looking humanoids or animals with human-level intelligence like the Frontier DigiDestined's transformations.

Plus, their ability to transform into monsters is so iconic that when other shows do it, one can't help but think of Digimon Frontier, like when Pokémon did it.

Just need one more bullet...

Prince Huepow, God of Platforming Pocket Pals (Hewpoe)

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/hyupo.png
His true form

  • Hall of Game Characters
  • Lesser God
  • Symbol: The Moon Kingdom's crescent symbol
  • Theme music: I'm On Your Side
  • Alignment: Neutral Good with some chaotic leanings
  • Portfolio: Floating Limbs, Non-Player Companion, powers the Wind Ring, Blue Is Heroic, Prince Incognito, Royals Who Actually Do Something, Voluntary Shapeshifting, gives Klonoa Fake Memories of them always being friends but starts to like him for real, Manipulative Bastard, feels guilty for using Klonoa, Disney Death, delivers a Cruel Twist Ending, his appearances in spinoffs contradict all of this
  • Domains: The moon, wind, deceit, guilt, memories
  • Herald: The Moon Queen
  • Complicated relationship: Klonoa
  • Allies: The King of Sorrow, Princess Luna, Nebby (as Lunala), Sailor Moon, Naminé, Shūkurō Tsukishima, Sparx
  • Enemies: Joka, Lenna, Shadow the Hedgehog, Dr. Eggman, Majora's Mask, Nightmare Moon, Nightmare, Wizeman
  • Of interest to: Cream the Rabbit
  • Huepow is a spirit who lives inside the wind ring, a magical object that allows its bearer to inflate mooks. Klonoa met him while walking in the woods one day, and they've been best friends ever since. Except... that was all a lie. He's actually the humanoid prince of Cress, the long-hidden Moon Kingdom, who summoned Klonoa from another world and gave him fake memories so he could save Phantomile from Ghadius' nightmares. However, during their adventure, he grew attached to Klonoa, and felt horribly guilty when he told him the truth. When Klonoa was forcibly sucked out of Phantomile, Huepow was on the verge of tears.
  • Huepow was chosen to represent Platforming Pocket Pal because because he disappears into the wind ring during gameplay, allowing him to stay with Klonoa at all times. He used to be Klonoa's herald, so naturally they reunited after Huepow ascended. Their history had been an Elephant in the Living Room for a while, even though Klonoa had long since come to accept his role as the Dream Traveller. Huepow's ascension gave them a chance to talk things through with each other. Despite how much they've changed, they still agree that Joka is their enemy. When they learned he was causing trouble in the Pantheon, they teamed up to stop him.
  • Huepow had never met the King of Sorrow before the Pantheon, but Klonoa had. They have a lot in common: they're both royals from a long-hidden kingdom with a blue and gold colour scheme, and the Kingdom of Sorrow is called Hyuponia. They have so much in common, in fact, that some interpret the King as the embodiment of Klonoa's sorrow about being forced out of Phantomile. Regardless of whether this is true or not, the King of Sorrow regarded Huepow with suspicion at first, but they eventually bonded over their similarities.
  • Lenna was horrified when she learned about what Huepow did to Klonoa. Despite his repentance and best intentions, she just can't forgive him. It's eerily similar to what Delvin did to her — altering her memories and then manipulating her because he thought it would save the kingdom, but instead only corrupting it more. Similarly, Shadow the Hedgehog thought he had fake memories at one point, so he's wary of Huepow.
  • Naturally, Huepow gets along with moon-related deities. He especially sympathises with Princess Luna, who was sealed away in the moon, much like how the Moon Kingdom was sealed off from the rest of Phantomile for a long time. Plus, just like Klonoa, Luna can enter dreams. Usagi, or Sailor Moon, is also the heir of a moon kingdom, though in her case, she didn't know about it until later in life. Huepow also gets along with Nebby's Lunala form despite not having any powers over the moon; she just happens to have the aesthetic. He doesn't take kindly to Dr. Eggman, who once blew up half the moon, or the entity possessing Majora's Mask, who tried to crash the moon into Termina.
  • The world of Phantomile is made of its inhabitants' dreams. Every night, they're all channelled through a crystal in the Moon Kingdom, which causes people to forget them when they wake up. Ghadius tried to corrupt this crystal so he could turn the world into a living nightmare. As a result, Huepow is enemies with all nightmare-related deities, such as Nightmare Moon and Wizeman. Special mention goes to Dream Land's Nightmare, whose high priest is Ghadius and who was responsible for Joka's ascension.
  • Huepow has a lot in common with Naminé and Shūkurō Tsukishima. Naminé was forced to alter Sora's memories to make him think she was his childhood friend instead of Kairi, who she was a clone of. She hates using her powers, and eventually restored Sora's memories to normal, but he had to forget all about her as a side-effect. Shūkurō is the God of Fake Memories, and used to use his powers to mess with people, but eventually reformed and felt remorse for his actions.
  • On a lighter note, Klonoa encouraged Huepow to seek out other gods who share his trope. Sparx really is Spyro's childhood friend, and they've been together for all their adventures. While Huepow allows Klonoa to attack, he's interested in how Sparx has an even more important role: magically taking damage for Spyro.
  • Cream the Rabbit is never seen without her pet, Cheese the Chao, who's also a rounded, floating, cyan creature. As a result, she was fascinated by Huepow because she mistook his spirit form for a chao. He explained that he wasn't, but Cream thinks he's cute. His humanoid form... less so.

[up][up][tup]. Guess that frees up Elemental Embodiment for entries more...I guess blatant about it would be my choice.

Is it me or have we entered a lull in activity this fortnight. On another note for some time I've been wondering if someone thinks there's a group of gods we should combine under Cast of Personifications (I am mainly thinking the Endless) or if no, we would prefer a newer group of characters

  • “Go home and be a family man.” A certain soldier who wears the American flag as a tattoo on both of his shoulders would often state this line to defeated opponents. But was he trying to speak sense into his opponents, or to himself? The subject of this certain mystery is a United States Air Force soldier by the name of Guile, who competed in the second World Warrior tournament to avenge the death of his best friend Charlie at the hands of the tournament’s host, Master Bison. He almost succeeded, having actually cornered Bison after the tournament, but was convinced by his wife and daughter to instead come back home and allow justice to deal with Bison.
    • Guile ventured back out onto the battlefield due to two revelations. One, that S.I.N., a weapons company whose name stood for Shadaloo Intimidation Network, was starting a brand new tournament. Two, that Charlie Nash’s body had never been found the entire time. Thus, he somehow became hopeful that Nash might still be alive, on top of returning to his mission to stop what was assumed to be the remains of Shadaloo. It was during this campaign that he met Abel, the French mixed-martial-artist seeking out his own past, who became an ally during later travels on numerous occasions.
  • Ascended in the early days of the Pantheon as the God of both Simple, Practical Combat and Charged Attacks, Guile is well-known for his ridiculous and obviously maintained standing disc-shaped broom hairstyle, his American flag shoulder tattoos, and his iconic attacks, the Sonic Boom and the Flash Kick. The bulk of his battle strategy is a defensive counter-style, aimed to find openings to hit those two moves or variations thereof in order to incapacitate enemies. Both in terms of gameplay input and in actuality, he would virtually always launch his trademark moves and their powered-up variations after concentrated moments in a defensive position, charging and building to use the attacks at the perfect time. Not only does nobody taunt him for having only two special moves, because that's all he needed, but this actually became a popular trend, with most fighting tournament events having at least one contestant turtling and charging his or her way to victory. Mitsuru Kirijo, with her calm demeanor and efficient approach remindimg him of Nash, was one who Guile trained personally for the P-1 Grand Prix tournament.
  • A strong figure among the good soldiers of the Pantheon, Guile is a stoic and respectable God for the most part. His one tragic flaw is that he is sometimes too hotheaded about the events around Charlie’s death, whether that be taking revenge for his apparent demise or finding out if Nash could still be alive. On the matter of revenge, he’s been tempted to take his next best shot since he heard Bison ascended to the Pantheon, but has been able to keep an even keel since getting along with the God of Vengeance. In Guile’s early days here said God was Teru Mikagami, but he since left the place and had his temple taken over by Edmond Dantes. While not one bit reluctant to encourage Guile’s revenge against the Shadaloo Dictator, the Count of Monte Cristo had learned from experience and would often advise Guile to temper himself lest he go too far like Edmond himself once did.
  • Once heard someone with a very similar voice to his in English saying that they could’ve worn they heard an echo speaking the words of a fool. Taking umbrage to this, the Air Force soldier found himself face to face with the Mad Puppeteer, Relius Clover. Rather than take Guile’s apprehension seriously, Relius turned the conversation into an experiment with Guile as the test subject, courtesy of a sudden attack from Relius’ iron puppet Ignis. After fending off this attack and failing to capture Relius, Guile did some research on this man. To his horror, he discovered that Relius is one of the worst kinds of "family men" imaginable, running expriments on his own wife (the soul within said iron puppet) and even his daughter. It didn’t take much persuading for Valkenhayn to get him to join forces in the interest of putting Relius down. He hopes to give him the second mightiest Flash Kick he could ever muster, or at least something that’s hard enough on the jaws that the next Relius-wannabe is gonna. feel. it.
    • On ther other hand, when Asura the Destructor ascended to the Pantheon and it was noted that he and Guile share a Japanese vocal base, the Air Force Major took his time to learn about this man. Upon seeing the tale of how Asura took down his world's own pantheon of gods of which he himself was a member almost singlehandedly because of their corrupt methods of "protecting" their world including the planned sacrifice of his own daughter, Guile couldn’t help but to proclaim him one of the greatest family men to exist. The two have yet to meet, Guile did learn more about his power from Ryu, who fought Asura both as his normal self and under the Satsui no Hado's possession and lived to tell the tale.
  • Still believing that somewhere, in the Pantheon or in the world he calls home, his old friend Charlie Nash may still be alive, Guile never wavered in his search. Looking around the site of Charlie’s fatal battle with Bison, he was confronted by a hostile woman named Helen who defeated him and turned him back with ice powers. However, following a losing battle with Shadaloo’s Four Kings in New York City, he got the answer he was looking for...and almost wished he didn’t. Nash appeared before him, Chun-Li, and Cammy, but in a horrifically stitched-up state. What’s more, Charlie fought Guile in cold silence to take a chess piece which had been delivered to him. Said chess piece turned out to be a key to one of Bison's seven Black Moons in the Dictator's latest and greatest scheme to achieve Nigh-Invulnerability.
    • Fortunately, Nash wasn’t truly quite the one-track Revenant Zombie he appeared to be in that moment; just a man who was pissed, paranoid, and impatient in his desire to kill Bison for several good reasons. While the two operated as part of separate factions, they ultimately found themselves reunited on an escaping helicopter from the first salvo at Shadaloo’s base. Fortunately, things got better and the brothers-in-arms were able to somewhat reconcile. Unfortunately, Charlie sacrificed himself absorbing as much of Bison’s Psycho Power as his body could take before imploding, weakening the Dictator enough for Ryu to put him down. Thanks to the Pantheon, though, things wouldn’t end there just yet.
  • During a confrontation with Balrog on an airstrip in the Pantheon, Guile soon found himself double-teamed and momentarily overwhelmed by Balrog and Kano. Before the two criminals could finish him off, however, Kano was suddenly clobbered from behind by a vertical Sonic Hurricane, then collapsed to the floor and revealed Charlie Nash, in his stitch-revived state, standing behind him. Not wanting to deal with anymore, Balrog ran off. Charlie had this to say.
Charlie: We never did get to finish that conversation at Miss Kanzuki's, did we, Guile?
    • Said conversation involved revealing information about the circumstances of Nash's revival as well as the things he saw that made him so uncontrollably angry in his downfall to begin with. Charlie also informed Guile that President Bartlet, whose mutual admiration with both men is well known, wanted another word with him. This led to the beginning of seeds that would form a larger command unit with Bartlet, the World Warrior officers, and various smaller factions they were either already in on or in the process of forming.
    • Guile’s faction would be the Mighty Majors, led by the Chief Major Motoko Kusanagi. Chun-Li being their mutual friend, she’d recommended Guile to Major Kusanagi to join the team shortly after Kusanagi assumed its leadership. When Motoko and Edward Elric presented the offer to him, he accepted posthaste. Among the Majors, he can often be seen training with Alex Louis Armstrong, and Edward calls him the "circletop soldier" relating to his disc-shaped hair.
  • Is well known for the meme that his theme song goes with everything, capable of taking place making his theme even when he's not present. This has earned him comparisons to another famous soldier, Elzam von Branstein, but the two have yet to meet and no one currently knows whether Branstein is still a deity at this point. One parody of lyrics to his theme talks about how he always shaves off his eyebrows before fighting, but it’s unknown whether this is the case, or if said eyebrows were shaved earlier in life and never grew back.
  • On the subject of his hair, his hairstyle and classic attire have two inspirations, both from the world of the Bizarre Adventure: Jean-Pierre Polnareff for the general idea of standing hair and a sleeveless top shirt with pants, and Rudol von Stroheim for the extending disctop and clothing color green. He also shares two commonalities with both men as well: a revenge quest with Polnareff, and strong patriotism with Stroheim. Polnareff was at first peeved to hear the man introduce himself as Guile sounded too much like Geil as in J. Geil, but after clearing up the misunderstanding the two came away with respect for one another. Guile promised that anytime he saw J. Geil he would clean his clock for Polnareff’s sake, while Polnareff gave his word that the Joestar group would be on the scene if Shadaloo attacked the Pantheon. As for Stroheim, Nash has told Guile how he once teamed with a World War II Nazi eccentric who kind of looked like him in order to help repel a wide-scale incursion of XANA’s monsters. While Rudol was able to recognize that supernatural threats to humanity are also threats to the esteem of German science, Charlie was never at ease with his presence. Both Americans agree that it’s probably for the best Guile never met the man before he left the Pantheon.
  • During one mission, Guile called for Captain America for assistance on combating Shadaloo, but wanted a friendly spar first to see if he was up for it. Steve Rogers didn't disappoint and thoroughly beat Guile in just one minute. He's also heard that some believe John Cena's constant displays of respect for soldiers and sick children is moreso PR-motivated than it is genuine, a possibility only not ruled out because of Vince McMahon, but overall got along decently with Cena whenever they met in person. Someone he isn't as glad to meet in person would be Rugal Bernstein; Guile was rather annoyed at the fact that the criminal mastermind had a prized statue of Guile in his personal ship, the BlackNoah. Upon one meeting, Guile destroyed it. It's been said that Rugal has been wanting to replace it ever since…
  • The years following the fall of Shadaloo have seen Guile move forward past the betrayal that claimed his best friend's life. In addition to truly becoming the family man he infamously admonished his foes to be, Guile has maintained his post in the US Air Force and even been promoted to Colonel. He now fully embraces the cool-headed mentality passed down to him by Charlie, passing it down as a veteran guide to younger soldiers. Naturally, this would lead to new military introductions and interactions in the Pantheon as well, the most notable of whom include the following:

How many up votes are needed to change a god's trope and move them to another hall? The same as when proposing a new god or a rework?

[up] When it comes to any proposal (new god, rework, dominion, trope change), so long as you get at least 1 [tup] with no opposing opinions, you're free to go make it happen. Since you got 2 [tup]s, you can change their trope (don't forget to move them to a more fitting hall/page since Mon Mode doesn't fit Elements and Nature: Other).

[up]Guile would be good friends with Captain Falcon, given they're both Eagleland inspired characters and in SSBU, Guile's spirit match is through a Captain Falcon.

Been back to working on my old profiles but I'm having some trouble with Ritchie Foley. I got most of the basics down but is there anyone who can help me pinpoint specific bad guys outside of the DC bubble that he'd hate? And are there any deities who are racist that would rub him the wrong way (due to his father and all)?

[down] Basics: Ritchie Foley is the Token White and Virgil Hawkins' best friend, the first one to learn about Virgil having superpowers and convincing him to be a hero. For most of Season 1 and 2, he's Mission Control and Damsel in Distress. He gets targeted a lot by the Meta-Breed due to his closeness to Static and he also had to contend with getting a bullet to the leg and his father's racism. Also had superpowers for a day as Push but that was akin to a drug addiction so he stopped.

Then Season 3 came, which is when he got superpowers (apparently this was due to writers having trouble keeping Ritchie relevant) and would aid Static with his gadgets, intelligence, and hacking. He gets brainwashed by Brainiac for a few episodes but other than that, there isn't a lot past that (aside from learning that his Big Eater habits will cause him to gain weight). DCU bad guys he did encounter outside of Brainiac include Toyman and Sinestro.

Also, Ritchie is canonically gay according to Word of God. Would there be deities who help him get out of the closet/those who are homophobic.

[up] Benjamin Cameron is a racist man who founded the KKK in his world. As for other specific baddies he'd hate, you should list out specific traits so we can figure out who would be his enemies easier as not everyone is familiar with Static Shock.

EDIT: Fuuka Yamagishi, Rise Kujikawa and Futaba Sakura serve as the Mission Control for their respective groups. Hal Emmerich/Otacon is a nerdy Mission Control who helps Snake on his missions. Also, the GUAG White Hats no longer exist due to the GUA's getting a massive overhaul a while ago.

I have an idea for a notable trope. I want to see if you guys think he's a good choice or you'd rather someone else have the trope

  • Jurgen Voller, God of Trying (And Failing) To Remove Hitler Via Time Travel (Hall of Time Travelling, Neutral Evil)-the Big Bad of Dial of Destiny is Jurgen Voller, seeking the Antitkythera mechanism to go back in time and take out Hitler right before WW2. He's a unique example of this trope in that he's a Nazi trying to pull this off; he believes in their vision but thinks that the Fuhrer specifically was to blame for Germany losing the war, so he wants to make sure they start the war with a more effective leader (three guesses on who he has in mind). True to the trope, though, his efforts are All for Nothing; the mechanism only sends you back to the Battle of Syracuse as part of Archimedes' attempt to stop the Romans. And the whole thing was a Stable Time Loop, furthering the fact his efforts were in vain.

Permission to change Kotori Itsuka's trope to Split-Personality Switch Trigger.

My reasoning came from her profile in the character page:

  • Her character changes according to the color of the ribbons she's wearing. While wearing white ribbons or not wearing any, she is that of her "weak self"; a delicate little sister who is very dependent upon her big brother. When wearing black ribbons, she becomes her "strong self"; a charismatic and sometimes domineering leader able to successfully command the airship, Fraxinus. The personalities are considered "little sister mode" and "commander mode" respectively. This switch in character is due to Shido giving Kotori black ribbons as a present for her ninth birthday after sealing her powers, and telling her to be strong as long as she wears them.
