Lynn's Team

    Lynn

The protagonist of the story. Lynn comes from a remote village, where she is fairly popular with the girls because of her alleged sexual experience, when she is actually a virgin. After her village was attacked, Lynn vowed to become a strong woman like Queen Brunhild and has set out to Burgundy to participate in the Rosengarten Schlacht to impress Brunhild.

  • Action Girl: Oh yes. Lynn has no formal training and she's inexperienced, but she can still put up a fight. She punts people through walls, buries Dietrich with a single axe kick, and can mimic Siegfried's sword technique even when he's not possessing her body.
  • Backstory Invader: First hinted at in the Volume 7 extras, when all of the villagers try recalling things about her and simply put her in place of someone else before realizing that they've done so. Chapter 58 confirms that she's the creation of the Ring of Nibelung, twisting Kriemhild's wish to be reborn when Seigfried dies to be able to go on adventures with him rather than be stuck in the castle, to be hideous to men so that women wouldn't shun and avoid her, and to have Brunhild be able to see her true self so they can be closer. The real reason she didn't get invited to Seigfried's orgy the night before he died is because she didn't even exist yet.
  • Berserk Button:
  • Bestiality Is Depraved: When Siegfried forces her to rape a dragon during the People course, Lynn is disgusted about the act itself, yes, but she is absolutely mortified that she's being forced to do it in full view of the other contestants.
Takeru: Hehe! You're a real funny girl!
Lynn: AHAHAHAHA! KILL ME!! SOMEBODY KILL ME!!
  • Butt-Monkey: She keeps getting dragged into fights and other unpleasant situations against her will. Mostly thanks to Siegfried.
  • Chick Magnet: Fortunately for Lynn, who's a hopelessly thirsty lesbian, her ability to attract women isn't hampered by her curse. Men might find her ugly, but babes flock to her like there's no tomorrow; albeit, they still don't see that her and Kriemhild actually look identical. All the same, she claims to only have eyes for Queen Brunhild.
  • Cool Big Sis: The other village girls looked up to Lynn even before she left on her journey. Later fills a similar elder sister role for the dragon twins, Lofn and Lyng.
  • Covert Pervert: Lynn is positively demure compared to the rest of the cast, but still shows anxiety over not being invited to Siegfried's orgy alongside the other village girls and fantasizes about spending some alone time with Queen Brunhild.
  • Determinator: Lynn quite understandably loses her cool over the ludicrous scenarios she's found herself in, but keeps moving forward. Haunted by a deviant prince? Accosted by ex-legionaries? Followed by another deviant prince? Bumps in the road to Brunhild's side.
  • Hammered into the Ground: When sufficiently pissed, Lynn will bury the target of her unfathomable wrath up to their face. Dietrich, Witige, Hildebrand and Heime (for some reason) experience this on separate occasions.
    Lofn: Amazing...
Lyng: This has to be a new record depth...!
  • Hermaphrodite: Whenever Siegfried gets randy, he makes Lynn grow a penis to satisfy his lust.
  • Heroes Prefer Swords: Lynn wields Siegfried's sword, Gram, which can turn men into women and sexually stimulate people.
  • Identical Stranger: She looks exactly like Princess Kriemhild (Sieg's widow), but the only other person who can see the resemblance is Brunhild.
  • Informed Deformity: No man ever calls Lynn beautiful, despite her seemingly having the same face as Princess Kriemhild, the most beautiful woman in the Germanic lands. In fact, people claim that Lynn has zero sex appeal and Siegfried doesn't feel attracted to her at all. Ultimately justified. Her face has a curse that makes her look ugly to others.
  • Only Sane Woman: The only character in the series that is both genuinely nice to others and has no weird fetish to get in the way of social interactions.
  • Parental Abandonment: Lynn doesn't have parents. She grew up alone in her village.
  • Powers via Possession: Siegfried can possess her body for a boost in strength and skill.
  • Sex Shifter:
    • One of Gram's magical powers is to change men into women.
    • After being hit by Gram's twin blade, Balmung, Lynn is turned into a man. Siegfried's magic can suppress the effect, but if he and Lynn are too far apart she'll revert.
  • Single-Target Sexuality: For Lynn, it's Brunhild or bust.
  • Unexpected Virgin: Lynn claims that she Really Got Around and has quite a lot of experience, but she actually has never had sex before. She does have sex with some people, but that's after Siegfried turned some of her assailants into women and then made Lynn grow a penis... So she technically has had vaginal sex already, even though her cherry was never popped.
  • Wrestler in All of Us: After Dietrich, against all odds, manages to get their team past the preliminaries, Lynn shows him her gratitude by cheerfully subjecting him to a German Suplex, much to Dietrich's delight and Aladdin's confusion.

    Siegfried

Prince of Netherland, world-class warrior, hero of all the Germanic lands, lifelong adventurer, and violently insatiable lecher. He was assassinated after assaulting Queen Brunhild of Burgundy, creating a power vacuum which led to the attack on Lynn's village. His spirit currently inhabits the magical sword Gram, carried by Lynn.

  • Aw, Look! They Really Do Love Each Other: No one could be blamed for thinking Siegfried wasn't the best husband to Kriemhild, but every so often Siegfried shows that he really does love her in his own way.
  • Barbie Doll Anatomy: Siegfried lacks definition in his current ghostly form.
  • Berserk Button:
    • Siegfried is not amused when others take what he sees as his property, be they his villages, his women or his treasures.
    • He also does not appear to take kindly to impostors pretending to be Kriemhild.
    • Matter of fact, he will respond to any form of disrespect towards Kriemhild (barring his own brand of disrespect, that is) with lethal force. When Takeru beheads all the Kriemhild impostors in the People course and callously crushes the head of one, Siegfried immediately jumps at him with killing intent, without uttering a single word, after he remembers a brief memory of her laying with him.
  • Collector of the Strange: He accumulated a vast array of magical items as an adventurer, several with, uh, questionable utility.
  • Extreme Omnisexual: He will gleefully force himself on any female he finds attractive, and possesses (in several senses) a magical sword that allows him to turn any man or beast into an attractive female. The results were inevitable.
  • Hunk: Handsome face, chiseled body, twisted personality.
  • Hyper-Awareness: Siegfried only needs to lay eyes on the Kriemhild sitting before Lynn during the People course to immediately tell that she's a fake, even though magic was used to make her look exactly like the real thing.
  • Invisible to Normals: As a ghost, Siegfried is outside the perceptions of normal people. This affords less of a benefit than one might expect, since the Rosengarten competitors are hardly normal.
  • O.O.C. Is Serious Business: After Siegfried and Arthur fail to defeat Takeru during the People course, Siegfried becomes uncharacteristically pensive, because this means they are nowhere near strong enough to defeat Beowulf. He then asks Lynn to work with him and lend him her strength.
  • Sleeps with Everyone but You: The night he had an orgy in the chapel in Lynn's village he invited every single virgin living there. Every virgin except for Lynn, that is, whom apparently he failed to notice because of her curse.
  • Spirit Advisor: Ever wanted to have an extra horny Dark Schneider-looking whackadoodle following you around? Neither did Lynn.

    Dietrich von Bern

Prince of Bern (hence the name). An unabashed masochist who goads people into beating and abusing him for his own amusement. Decides follow Lynn to the tournament after she inadvertently flipped his switch.

  • Aw, Look! They Really Do Love Each Other: While Dietrich worships the inhuman amounts of pain that Lynn regularly subjects him to, he makes it abundantly clear during his duel with Hildebrand that he truly admires her character as well.
Dietrich: It is true that... Lynn-sama is... unattractive... She also does not have... any status or wealth... But she is... SO MUCH MORE!!! Regardless of whom she interacts with, she does not put up a front! Royalty, commoners... Such things do not matter! Also... Even in this tournament of monsters... She remains steadfast!! That is why... That is why Lynn-sama is...!! An amazing person!! Why can't you stop seeing only her looks, and start seeing her for who she truly is...?!
  • Berserk Button:
    • Being denied his source of pain is a good way to rile Dietrich up.
    • After he becomes infatuated with Lynn, Dietrich goes berserk with rage whenever anyone denigrates her. For whatever reason he considers calling her a "Kriemhild-lookalike" an insult, as if the comparison is offensive.
  • Combat Sadomasochist: With emphasis on the latter part; Dietrich loves getting hurt.
  • Crouching Moron, Hidden Badass: Yes, Dietrich is an idiot, a degenerate masochist and a Butt-Monkey, but he's still a powerful swordsman on Siegfried's level.
  • Foil: To Siegfried. While both are Master Swordsmen, Siegfried enjoys thoroughly dominating his opponents until they submit to him in mind and body, while Dietrich enjoys nothing more than being dominated. Their first duel is as much a battle of skill as it is of ideology.
  • The Good King: Discussed. As per Hildebrand's teachings, Dietrich wholeheartedly believes that a good king is one who can understand the suffering of their people and work to make sure they do not suffer. Because he draws enjoyment from physical pain, however, Dietrich still hasn't quite figured out how to become such a king, and believes Lynn can help him find the answer by subjecting him to more pain than he has ever experienced in his life.
  • In Love with Your Carnage: Especially when said carnage is directed at him.
  • Made of Iron: He takes a lot of punishment despite being a nominally bog-standard human. After a lifetime of experiencing increasing amounts of pain, it makes you wonder if anything can actually hurt him.
  • Master Swordsman: His sword skills are a match for Siegfried's, even when his size-changing blade Eckesachs is in its diminutive default state.
  • My Friends... and Zoidberg: Lynn initially leaves him out of her plans to fight in the tournament after recruiting the twins, only very reluctantly recruiting him after Lyng becomes incapacitated the night before the preliminaries.
  • No-Holds-Barred Beatdown: Dietrich goes ballistic on Hildebrand after he seemingly projects Kriemhild's face on Lynn, which Dietrich considers an insult to her. As if to emphazise this, the usually-smooth edge of Eckesachs becomes serrated and jagged as he whales down on his former teacher.
  • Phallic Weapon: Eckesachs might well be the biggest example of what a phallic weapon is. When Dietrich becomes aroused, his usually-dagger-sized weapon... grows.
  • Too Kinky to Torture: Dietrich initially subjected himself to different forms of pain in order to understand the suffering of his subjects. Eventually he decided that he actually enjoyed feeling pain, which puzzled him as he couldn't understand why people would suffer from something so enjoyable.

    Lofn & Lyng

A pair of twin girls who are actually dragons. After Siegfried did his thing to their older brother Fafnir, they were sent out to recover the treasure he stole and forbidden to return without it. Following an energetic punch-out, they joined up with Lynn after she offered to help them kill ghost Siegfried following the tournament.

  • Breath Weapon: Capable of exhaling a traditional cone of flame when fused, or spitting sparks sufficient to light a campfire when separate.
  • Expressive Mask: The eyes drawn on Lofn's bag are surprisingly mobile.
  • Fusion Dance: The twins can resume full-sized dragon form by fusing with each other.
  • Intimate Healing: After an unknown party attacks Lyng in the castle, Lofn tries to heal her the morning after by licking her wounds. While Lyng is not exactly feverish, it does increase her temperature.
Lyng: What do I do, Lynn? I think I'm starting to enjoy the pain...
Lynn: LOFN, STOP! YOUR SISTER IS ABOUT TO DEVELOP A WEIRD FETISH!!
  • The Nose Knows: Their sense of smell is sharp enough to track Lynn across the city (because of "the harsh stench of her virginity"), and even notice Siegfried, who is a ghost. Lofn could also tell Gawain was male from his scent.
  • Pintsized Powerhouse: They're both pretty strong despite looking like middle schoolers.
  • Take Me Instead: After Beowulf floors Gawain while he's trying to protect her, Lofn offers her own head to Beowulf in exchange for Gawain being spared, as a way of taking responsibility for going berserk earlier. While Beowulf seemingly takes her up on the offer, instead he deliberately misses his attack and chastises Gawain for allowing his charge to protect him.
  • Twincest: Lyng and Lofn seriously have it out for each other. It's so bad, Lofn has to wear a bag over her head to keep Lyng from getting distracted and leading to... situations.

KRT13

     Arthur

Center performer for the hottest idol group out of pre-industrial Britain. Arthur's more interested in finding new members for his troupe than winning the tournament but still not to be taken lightly. Competes in the "People" round.

  • All-Loving Hero: Arthur declares that as an idol, he's everyone's ally (except Takeru and Siegfried).
  • Alternate Self: Excalibur has the power of manifesting a version of Arthur from another timeline, granting the prime Arthur their abilities and knowledge. During his duel with Alibaba, Excalibur turns Arthur into a version of himself that met Morgiana, learned science from her and became a member of the Arabian Knights, granting him the means to neutralize the nanomachines that are killing Alibaba.
  • Big Damn Heroes: Saves Galahad from being pampered by Hagen by punching the latter into the ground.
  • Blue-and-Orange Morality: Arthur has no problem with Siegfried raping women wantonly, but he draws the line at the fact that some of his victims are men that Siegfried intentionally turned into women using Gram. Arthur sees this as a waste since, in his mind, men can also be "virgin maidens" at heart. Naturally, Arthur's logic only confuses Siegfried.
  • Dude Looks Like a Lady: Arthur fits the idol aesthetic better than his brothers-in-arms.
  • Hammerspace: Arthur stores Excalibur somewhere under his skirt, next to his other sword.
  • Lightning Bruiser: Despite his thin limbs and short stature, Arthur packs monstrous physical power into his strikes. Also manages to keep pace with Alibaba's motorbike while on foot.
  • Made of Iron: Shrugs off explosions and head-lopping magic swords with more damage to his outfit than his body.
  • Pint-Sized Powerhouse: Arthur may look like a little girl, but make no mistake. His physical strength borders on the insane.
  • Power Limiter: As with Goku's gi or Rock Lee's weights, Arthur's gloves apparently weigh a ton to help him hold back.
  • Wholesome Crossdresser: Arthur's shown little malice toward the other contestants, aside from Takeru, and compared to sex monsters like Siegfried or Dietrich his proclivities are harmless.
  • You Are Better Than You Think You Are: Cheers up Galahad after Hagen turns her into a boy by showing that her fans still love her, before declaring that, with or without boobs, Say!Hi!Jump! has already become a group of splendid Idols.

     Gawain

One of Arthur's bandmates. Originally dreamed of being a cool swordsman, but went along with Arthur's goal. Still has lingering doubts about the direction his life has taken. Competes in the "Items" round.

     Kay

Arthur's foster brother and on-stage backup. More enthusiastic about the whole lifestyle than Gawain, but worried that he doesn't quite understand what it means to be an idol. Competes in the "Money" round.

  • Big Brother Worship: Inverted. Kay absolutely worships the ground his adoptive little brother Arthur walks on, almost bordering on (if not outright) brocon territory. If Arthur wants to start an Idol group, then Kay will become the best goddamn Idol in the world to support Arthur's dream.
  • Cuteness Proximity: Becomes incredibly motivated (and erect) at the thought of Arthur wearing a swimsuit after their team wins the Rosengarten Schlacht.
  • Dance Battler: Kay's moves are so fresh, they unleash shockwaves with each twirl and spin.
  • Fighting Spirit: When Kay uses his true form and Sinbad attacks him with the Golden Staff, Kay absorbs the energy from the attack to create a humongous avatar with it. In this state, Kay becomes powerful enough to make short work of Sinbad's roc birds.
  • Hypocrite: When the Kamikaze Suit's nanomachines go berserk and start, uh... fiddling with Arthur, Kay calls Alibaba a goddamn pervert. An annoyed Gawain points out how Kay's nose is bleeding.
  • Knight Templar Big Brother: After Alibaba bombards the arena during the redemption round while Arthur is fighting Hagen, a very pissed off Kay threatens to murder him in retaliation while striking a pose.
Kay: WHAT THE HELL DO YOU THINK YOU'RE DOING TO MY LOVELY LITTLE BROTHER?! I WILL FUCKING KILL YOU!!!
  • Let's Get Dangerous!: After Kay remembers that Arthur pondered wearing a School Swimsuit to celebrate winning the tournament, he becomes motivated enough to agree to join Aladdin's heist team in order to pass the Money course, since that's the only way anyone will make it to the tournament proper.
  • Skewed Priorities: After Dietrich retrieves everyone's weapons during the Money course, the heist crew prepares to fight off the Valkyries. Not Kay, though; he needs to get dressed first. When Aladdin calls him out on it, Kay insists that the costume is an Idol's weapon.
Valkyries: Why do we have to see a muscular man changing clothes...?
  • This Cannot Be!: Kay is left in disbelief at the sight of Alibaba's Magical Girl transformation overpowering Arthur's brute strength.
  • Tranquil Fury: Becomes furious with Sinbad for forcing him to rely on his true form.
    Kay: IT'S ALL YOUR FAULT.
  • Voluntary Shapeshifting: Kay's true form is that of a child even cuter than Arthur. He hates having to use it because it takes away from Arthur's popularity, though Arthur himself loves how cute Kay looks while using it.

     Merlin

Producer, manager, and literal stage magician for KRT13. Disguises his face as a giant capital P.

  • Bunny-Ears Lawyer: The barrier used to shield the spectators from the contestants? Merlin sold it to Gernot. The fact that it still breaks too easily when the monsters participating in the Rosengarten Schlacht cut loose and that Merlin later provides an even stronger (and expensive) barrier for Arthur's fight with Alibaba implies that the first barrier was designed to break, something Morgiana cheekily accuses Merlin of.
Merlin: Please cease your baseless accusations.
  • Every Man Has His Price: Morgiana convinced Merlin to help her build toys and gizmos for the Arabian Knights by bribing him with a School Swimsuit for his Idol group to wear.
Gawain: I don't know what they're talking about, but I've got a bad feeling about it...
  • Everyone Has Standards: Even Merlin can't wrap his P around the Kamikaze Suit's Transformation Sequence requiring an activation code.
  • Master of Illusion: Merlin uses illusion magic to make his face look like a giant letter P (it used to be an M). When Morgiana came to visit him a few years ago, he used an illusion to make his lab look like a cave filled with magical paraphernalia, only to lift the illusion and reveal it was full of Idol merchandise.

Yamato

     Yamato Takeru

Second in command of the nation of Yamato and heir apparent for their ruling Yamato Dynasty. Carries a sword that looks worn and nicked, but still fully capable of severing necks. Takeru is fascinated with the elements of foreign culture on display, and interested in acquiring treasures and concubines to send back home to his father. Competes in the "People" round.

  • Absurdly Sharp Blade: His sword—which may well be the Kusanagi/Murakumo—slices through people like a hot knife through butter. Also, it flies.
  • Cloud Cuckoolander: Takeru operates on his own strange internal logic that stands out even against the other dysfunctional members of the cast. He wears the same wide-eyed expression of intense interest whether he's examining Alibaba's motorbike or the severed head of a mob.
  • Culture Clash: Sees no problem with beheading all the princess look-a-likes in the "People" round. When Arthur and Siegfried!Lynn object, he calls them barbaric.
  • Empty Shell: Takeru's dedication to his father is not just the core of his identity, but the whole of it. Consider the following from his duel with Beowulf:
I am simply whatever my old man asks me to be. If he tells me to be a woman, then I will whole-heartedly be a woman. If he tells me to be his sword, then I will whole-heartedly be his sword.
  • Establishing Character Moment: Takeru enters the plot by admiring the sword and attire of a foreigner waiting to enter the tournament. When said foreigner attempts to kill Takeru in order to set a proper atmosphere for the coming bloodbath, Takeru responds by cheerfully decapitating him so fast it takes the witnesses a few seconds to realize what happened.
Takeru: Wouldn't you know it, they're the same as us on the inside... That means I can kill them just like anyone else!
  • Graceful Loser: Beowulf realizes that Takeru threw the match at the end of their fight and asks him why. Takeru responds that he froze in place after feeling acknowledged by Beowulf, before peacefully falling asleep.
  • Murder Is the Best Solution: Takeru is very quick to resort to murder, especially when he finds something (or someone) he wants to take home as a souvenir.
  • Nightmare Face: Takeru's eyes bulge and features distort when dialing up the crazy.
  • One-Winged Angel: When sufficiently angry, Takeru becomes wrapped by Kusanagi's malevolent aura, takes a form akin to a red harpy and emits feathers that will castrate every man present. Tsuchigumo reveals that this form is called Kusanagi's Annihilation Form, Imperial Spear Body.
  • O.O.C. Is Serious Business: At the climax of his duel with Beowulf, Takeru takes a formal sword stance. Tsuchigumo remarks that this is the first time he's done such a thing.
  • Parental Incest: His constant ravings about his father is very borderline obsessive. During his battle with Beowulf, he talks about how he will only accept his father's dick and ramble about how being penetrated by his father's penis would be unbearable with a very giddy tone. After transforming as woman, Takeru tells Beowulf that his/her body is his/her fathers, and accuses him of cuckoldry.
  • What the Hell, Hero?: Ok, not exactly a hero, but Takeru gets chastised by Beowulf for getting distracted during their fight.
Beowulf: A warrior like thou should not do foolish things in the middle of a fight! If thou art truly a warrior, then thou should put thy entire heart and soul into the fight!

     Orochi

A strange reptilian woman fond of strong alcohol and casual copulation. Makes friends with Lofn (not that way) and Gawain (precisely that way) during the "Items" round.

     Tsuchigumo

A masked and bandaged shinobi who serves as part of Takeru's entourage. Competes in the "Money" round, where he joins Aladdin's heist crew. Fond of contracts. Concerned about workplace harassment.

Persia

     Alibaba

President of Persia and leader of their Rosengarten team; a man who enjoys fast motorbikes, powerful explosives, and the intoxicating thrill of victory. Competes in the "People" round.

  • Badass Biker: Styled after stereotypical Bōsōzoku with his (turbaned) pompadour, hot temper, and small army of mooks.
  • Be Yourself: Alibaba is not particularly miffed about being turned into a woman, and he certainly doesn't allow it to alter his personality. He also does not give a damn if Arthur thinks he could be cuter or whatever; he will remain true to himself no matter what.
Alibaba: Man or woman, cute or not, I don't give a damn what other people think... No matter what anyone says, I will always be myself!!
  • Berserk Button: Reacts violently to Arthur standing on the seat of his bike, and drops a bomb on his face while telling him to get his dirty feet off of it.
  • Body Horror: Even after Alibaba wakes up and regains control of the Kamikaze Suit, the result is not pretty, and he starts looking like he took a page out of AKIRA. Mjinn points out how the nanomachines might erode his brain if he doesn't stop fighting, but Alibaba doesn't care as long as he can defeat Arthur while he's still himself, aware that even after going berserk he's still not guaranteed to win. At one point his face starts crumbling apart.
  • Catchphrase: Naturally, "Open Sesame!" Used to punctuate powerful explosions.
  • Clothes Make the Superman: Alibaba's Magical Girl transformation, enabled by the Kamikaze Suit, grants him enough strength to not only overpower Arthur, but to also leave a sizeable crack in the reinforced barrier after punching Arthur into it.
  • Determinator: Alibaba is determined to do anything in order to win and to keep fighting no matter what, consequences be damned. Crosses into Detrimental Determination territory when the Kamikaze Suit's nanomachines go berserk and start eating away at his body and mind. When told to stop by his teammates, Alibaba tells them to shut up and that he doesn't care; he will defeat Arthur or die trying.
  • Let's You and Him Fight: During the People course, aware that using explosives with too much power will level the castle he's fighting in, Aladdin convinces the rest of the contestants to gang up on Arthur by pointing out that in doing so they won't have to face him in the main tournament. Not that it does them much good...
  • Gender Bender: Takes a hit from Gram during the People round. Morgiana uses Fem!Alibaba's body as incentive for Aladdin to continue in the Money round.
  • Healing Factor: Being made of nanotechnology, the Kamikaze Suit can heal injuries via nanomachines. It can even heal Alibaba's wrist after Arthur breaks it.
  • Heroic RRoD: The Kamikaze Suit and accompanying bike increase Alibaba's fighting prowess enough that he can put the likes of Arthur on the ropes. However, his attacks become so powerful that he ends up mangling his own arm. While Alibaba tries to shrug off the pain to continue fighting, eventually the pain makes him pass out, which makes the Kamikaze Suit's nanomachines go berserk.
  • Insistent Terminology: Refers to his motorbike as a magic carpet.
  • Mad Bomber: Carries loads of explosives and does not hesitate to use them.
  • Major Injury Underreaction: Alibaba breaks both his left wrist and the entirety of his right arm while fighting Arthur, and still remains focused on beating the Idol. That the Kamikaze Suit comes with a Healing Factor probably helps... Until it doesn't: because Alibaba briefly passes out from the pain, he loses control of the Kamikaze Suit and the nanomachines start going berserk, becoming as much a danger to Alibaba himself as to everyone else.
  • Not Afraid to Die: Even as the Kamikaze Suit's nanomachines start eating away at his mind and body, Alibaba is determined to continue fighting Arthur, well aware that whether he wins or loses he probably won't survive.
  • Sore Loser: Alibaba declares the fight against Arthur to be his defeat since Arthur saved his life, but he's certainly not happy about it. When Arthur insists that it's his defeat, Alibaba has none of it and starts fighting him again so he can't forfeit.
  • Transformation Sequence: Version 8.3 of the Kamikaze Suit, once activated, triggers a magical girl transformation which Alibaba dubs "Alipure". It even requires an activation code.
Alibaba: Alibaba! Kamikaze Suit! Dress up! Vroom vroom! [...] Everyone, Open Sesame your hearts!♥ Sparkling Fancy Pompadour! Alipure!!

     Sinbad

Persia's representative for the "Items" round. A laid-back guy willing to act on opportunities.

  • Combat Pragmatist: Waits for Beowulf to leave himself open while fighting Gawain before ambushing him. When Gawain protects Beowulf and even Mulan's assistance proves futile in the face of Orochi's intervention, Sinbad instead moves to kill Lofn in order to have everyone fail the Treasure course.
  • Eating the Eye Candy: Sinbad starts taking pictures of Alibaba's Magical Girl transformation.
Sinbad: The President in V8.3... Nice...
    Aladdin: Yep... Nice, indeed...
  • Know When to Fold 'Em:
    • Withdraws from attacking Beowulf after Gawain and Orochi defend him and leaves Lofn alone after Beowulf breaks free of his restraints to protect her.
    • When Kay starts using his true form to No-Sell Sinbad's Golden Staff and destroys all of his roc birds, Sinbad uses Plan K: Kneel.
  • Macross Missile Massacre: Accidentally shoots a barrage of Golden Staff kinetic missiles on Fafnir after Mjinn shocks him while zapping Aladdin.
  • Oh, Crap!:
  • Robot Master: He controls an army of roc bird aerial drones equipped with a variety of functions, such as recording from a distance, binding a target with rope or charging in for an explosive suicide attack.
  • Surfer Dude: His primary visual aesthetic, complete with board shorts and talk about riding waves (both metaphorical and real ones).
  • Taking You with Me: The rules of the Treasure course state that, in order to qualify, participants must collect at least one treasure and carry it on their person when they defeat the boss. After Sinbad's plan to take out Beowulf doesn't work, he goes for plan B and moves to kill Lofn, who became the boss after going berserk with a cursed item. Because Sinbad has no treasure on him, if Lofn dies by his hand then everyone in the Treasure course will be disqualified.
    Sinbad: Let's all fail together!

     Aladdin

Persia's representative for the "Money" round. A man well aware of his limits, but fortunately he's not alone.

  • Badass Boast: Declares that he will win the match against Gawain after Alibaba gives him a little motivation.
Aladdin: I will win. Even if the world is against me, with the President by my side, it's like having a hundred allies!
  • The Generic Guy: He's not a hothead like his boss, nor is he personally daring like Sinbad, but he still manages to wrangle together his fellow competitors despite their abrasive and peculiar personalities.
  • Genie in a Bottle: Well, smartphone. His mobile device houses a djinn (or possibly A.I.) named Mjinn who's happy to help Aladdin out. Or shock his junk, depending.
  • Honor Before Reason: Aladdin is ultimately left in a situation where he only needs to hide from the Valkyries until sunset in order to pass the Money course. However, the rest of the heist team has been captured by Queen Brunhild, meaning he would be effectively sacrificing them to win (which is exactly what Mjinn's real plan is). Even though Aladdin acknowledges how stupid it would be to reveal himself at this point, he still comes out of hiding to surrender his chips in exchange for Brunhild sparing the rest of the guys, shocking Mjinn and the Valkyries with his decision.
Aladdin: Oh, I'm definitely an idiot. But these guys are even dumber than me. Even if they're from the enemy teams, they put their bodies on the line for this... And you know what? We don't win by selling them out. That's not what we Arabian Knights do! I'll give you the chips back. So leave them alone.
  • Only Sane Man: Aladdin becomes increasingly creeped out by the people he recruits for the heist team.
  • Powered Armor: For his match against Gawain, Alibaba lends Aladdin his Kamikaze Suit, which turns into body armor that looks like it came out of Kamen Rider. It's powerful enough to let him defeat Gawain in a single blow. It comes with the downside of taking a massive toll on the user's body after prolonged use (version 9.0, at least; version 8.3 doesn't have that drawback).
  • Sex for Services: At first Aladdin is not particularly motivated to try his luck against Brunhild, knowing that defeating her is impossible. In response, Morgiana sends him a picture of Alibaba turned into a woman by Gram and tells him that she'll let him have sex with her if he gets their team to qualify; Aladdin promptly gets on his feet and starts working out a plan for victory with Mjinn's help. When Aladdin actually manages to pull it off and learns to his shock that the "brown beauty" in the picture was his own boss, he still garners the courage to earnestly proposition Alibaba for sex. Against all odds, Alibaba relents and grants Aladdin his "reward", much to Mjinn's chagrin.
    Alibaba: Geez... Just this once.
  • Smells Sexy: Sniffs Alibaba's coat before the match with Gawain to psych himself up. Mjinn is not at all amused.
  • The Social Expert: Aladdin considers himself an excellent judge of women, which allows him to tell that defeating Queen Brunhild in any kind of contest is utterly impossible.
  • This Cannot Be!: Aladdin is left in utter disbelief that even Attila and Dietrich couldn't put up a fight against Brunhild.

     Morgiana

Coach and mechanic for the Persian delegation. Somehow capable of looking into the future and implementing technology with pre-industrial magic, she's the reason the Persians have motorbikes, drones, and smartphones.

  • Humans Are Special: Morgiana believes that the Age of the Gods is a thing of the past, and that the world is entering the Age of Man and Science.
  • Support Party Member: She's not a (direct) competitor, but without her Alibaba and company would have a much harder time of it.

     Mjinn

The djinn-looking A.I. inhabiting Aladdin's smartphone. She's capable of interfacing with the various drones used by the Persian team, and masterminds the plan to win the "Money" round. Possessive of Aladdin's attention.

  • Ain't Too Proud to Beg: When it seems that Brunhild is about to flatten Aladdin, Mjinn starts begging for mercy.
  • Clingy Jealous Girl: She really doesn't care to see Aladdin eye other women, and will zap his family jewels whenever she catches him leering at them. When he takes up Fem!Alibaba on her offer of a roll in the hay for beating the qualifier, Mjinn throws a fit.
  • Combat Pragmatist: Mjinn's strategies usually involve less-than-honorable but effective tactics to attain victory.
  • Grew Beyond Their Programming: While at first Mjinn would fulfill Aladdin's orders and requests without question, over time she began to develop feelings for him after he started treating her like a real woman (as opposed to Alibaba and Sinbad, who would reject her instructions after failing to understand her calculations), to the point she began disobeying Aladdin and giving him wrong instructions in order to deliberately keep him from hitting on other women (much to her own confusion, initially).
Mjinn: Wh-why am I giving him the wrong instruction on purpose? Just what is this err♥r?
  • Groin Attack: Zaps Aladdin's rod when he gets aroused from other women, but not so much that he won't be able to reproduce afterwards. She doubles the output when Aladdin calls her flat.
  • Shock Collar: Or rather, shock cock ring. No, really. Mjinn routinely zaps Aladdin's junk when he starts lusting after other women. Uses several such rings during the Money course to rouse the heist team back on their feet for their final gambit.
  • Virtual Sidekick: Mjinn is an incredibly lifelike artificial intelligence created by Morgiana that spends most of her time assisting Aladdin from his smartphone. She can move to other devices, such as Morgiana's tablet.

Götaland

     King Beowulf

Reigning king of Götaland and a living legend. Beowulf is renowned for his honorable nature, world-class martial skill, and never wearing trousers. It would interfere with his three swords style, you see. Competes in the "Items" round.

     Wiglaf

Beowulf's protegé. Young and enthusiastic, but lacking in experience or skill, he still wishes to be useful to his liege. Competes in the "Money" round.

  • Determinator: Can't fault his spirit. While not necessarily weak, Wiglaf is physically and technically outclassed by the other contestants; even so, he still shows remarkable resilience.
  • Iron Butt Monkey: He may not look it, but Wiglaf can take absurd amounts of punishment while keeping a cheerful smile on his face. The only thing that allows him to withstand it is his utter devotion to Beowulf.
  • Let's Get Dangerous!: While initially disheartened upon learning that Beowulf failed the Treasure course, he quickly comes to see it as an opportunity to be of service to his king and pesters Aladdin until he's allowed into the heist team for the Money course.

     Unferth

A temporary royal guard drafted to fill the third slot for the Götaland team. Once a spirited man who challenged Beowulf himself, now feeling his age as time takes its toll on his strength and dignity.

Army of the Huns

    Attila

The head Hun. Handsome, fashionable, and wealthy several times over by his own hand, Attila has managed to rise high in the world. Has a soft spot for idols and widows. Competes in the "Money" round.

  • Commonality Connection: Following a brawlnote , Attila and Dietrich get along surprisingly well due to their shared masochism. Attila's just happens to be financial moreso than physical.
  • Obfuscating Stupidity: Do not let Attila's happy-go-lucky attitude fool you. He may look like an idiot and sound like an idiot, but chances are he knows more than he lets on and is planning five steps ahead of you.
  • Self-Made Man: Dietrich ribs him about spending an actual fortune on idol merchandise; Attila laughs it off and mentions that he just made another pile of cash after that to make up for it.

    Mulan

Yes, that Mulan. Competes in the "Treasures" round, where she collaborates with Sinbad.

  • Berserk Button: Sinbad found out the hard way that pointing out Mulan's feminine traits is a good way to get stabbed a little.
  • Dance Battler: To the common man, Mulan may look like she's dancing during her fights. To an experienced fighter like Gawain, she still looks like she's dancing... at incredibly fast speeds.
  • Defeat by Modesty: Mulan decides to surrender to Brunhild after she breaks her breastplate and tears off her robe in the process of countering her attack. For better or for worse, Brunhild doesn't give her the chance.
  • Hidden Buxom: Mulan works very hard to hide her chest size, though it does very little to hide the fact that she's a woman. When her breastplate breaks, her chest grows more than a few sizes.
  • Hypercompetent Sidekick: Attila quickly realized how skilled Mulan was when he started putting her to use. In his own words, there is no task she cannot complete, no matter how unreasonable it is.
  • Know When to Fold 'Em: After her all-out attack fails to even scratch Brunhild, Mulan prepares to throw the towel. Then Brunhild vomits in her face and passes out from her massive hangover.
  • The Mole: Is secretly an assassin sent by another country (most likely China) to kill Attila. Or perhaps not so secretly; apparently Mulan is about the only person in Attila's court who still thinks it's a secret.
  • Respected by the Respected: After Mulan goes all out on the offensive, Brunhild acknowledges her skill and power, calling her attack "splendid".
  • Selective Obliviousness: Can't seem to grasp that her secrets are known by virtually everyone and anyone that matters (namely, her real gender and the fact that she's a spy after Attila's head). At one point she clutches her breasts after her robe is torn open, in full view of an entire audience, and she still thinks her secret is safe after this.
  • Speed Blitz: While it looks like she's just dancing during her fight, Gawain can tell that in truth Mulan is moving ludicrously fast. Brunhild still manages to counter, though.
  • Sweet Polly Oliver: Well, yeah. In an amusing iteration, Mulan thinks her masculine disguise—consisting of a fairly unisex-looking robe and a breastplate worn like a medieval b-holder over her clothes—is perfect. It ain't.
  • Sword Beam: She strikes a pose that launches a Yin-and-Yang symbol through several trees before colliding with Orochi's bust.
  • Thousand-Yard Stare: Is rather understandably left with one after Brunhild violently empties her guts in her face.
  • Tsundere: Mulan is cold and irritable at the best of times, but when Attila calls her "a man amongst men" she happily marches off to fight Brunhild.

    Rüdiger

A margrave whose domain sits between the Huns and Burgundy.

  • Big Fun: While he's not exactly obese, Rüdiger is shown to be almost as jovial as Attila.
  • The Jinx: For whatever reason, anyone who steals or receives anything from Rüdiger ends up meeting with misfortune. If it's a gift, it happens slowly; if it's been stolen, it happens immediately. Attila even muses that Rüdiger might be cursed, even though Rüdiger himself appears unaware of it. Regardless, Attila is all too happy to exploit Rüdiger's curse for his own ends: before his duel with Fafnir, Attila gives Rüdiger a jewelled necklace. Shortly after Fafnir steals it, Mjinn shocks Sinbad (while zapping Aladdin for completely unrelated reasons) into accidentally firing off the Golden Staff while the barrier surrounding the arena is open, which leaves Fafnir gasping for air on all fours shortly before Rüdiger lands on him and knocks him out.
  • Third-Party Peacekeeper: Because his domain is the only thing standing between the Huns and Burgundy, Rüdiger maintains friendly relations with both in order to serve as a mediator, effectively stopping the Huns from invading through diplomacy.
  • Throwing Your Shield Always Works: When Rüdiger is tripped by Fafnir and drops his shield, it repeatedly ricochets off the barrier before hitting Fafnir on the back of his head. He's left thinking that Rüdiger did so on purpose, but it soon becomes clear that this is Rüdiger's cuse at work.
  • Trademark Favorite Food: Rüdiger is constantly seen snacking on cookies wherever he goes.

Burgundy

    Queen Brunhild

Originally Princess of Eastland, Brunhild married into the royal family of Burgundy some years back. Even after the union, she remained a virgin until Siegfried pressed his suit. When Lynn's village was attacked, Brunhild led her squad of Valkyries in retribution against the attackers, saving the villagers from further humiliation and suffering. Also kicks off the rest of the plot by encouraging Lynn to enter the Rosengarten. Part of Burgundy's team for the tournament.

  • Distracted by the Sexy: Brunhild likes hot guys. She likes them enough that her brain shorts out when presented with a significant amount of masculine hotness. This is enough of a concern that her Number Two Valkyrie has to kick some sense into her on occasion. When Aladdin's heist crew in the "Money" round deploy their impromptu host club scheme, she's putty in their collective hands. Repressed, dangerous putty with the strength of marble. At one point Brunhild literally refuses to sober up because she doesn't want the alcohol they gave her to go to waste.
  • I Was Just Passing Through: She justifies her presence at Lynn's village nearly word-for-word.
  • Incompatible Orientation: The object of Lynn's affections is the most aggressively straight character in the story, even more so than Sieg who uses his Gender Bender sword on men constantly in order to have sex with them.
  • Lady of War: As a contrast to the raw power she's shown—e.g. splitting a casino card table with one rising kick—Brunhild's demeanor is reserved and elegant. Unless she sees a hot guy.
  • Magical Eye: Brunhild's vision can penetrate the curse on Lynn that renders her unattractive.
  • One Hit Poly Kill: During the counter-ambush against the raiders who attacked Lynn's village, she slays several of them with a thrown spear.
  • One-Woman Army: On top of being beautiful and elegant, Brunhild is easily the most physically powerful warrior in Burgundy. Lasting for ten seconds against her is considered an achievement, and even Beowulf considers her to be the strongest woman in the world.
  • Power Limiter: During the "Money" round, Brunhild has some kind of magical effect applied to her vision to keep her from noticing, really noticing, the waves of nude hunky men. This does make it easier for people to cheat at her card table, but considering how the entire challenge goes off-the-rails when she removes them...
  • Statuesque Stunner: She's notably taller than average and quite attractive.
  • Still Wearing the Old Colors: Variation; her Valkyries refer to her as "Princess" even after she's married the King of Burgundy (and thus entitled to be called Queen). Combined with her expressions of homesickness for Eastland, it gives the impression that she is not pleased with her current situation.
  • World's Strongest Woman: Explicitly described as such by Beowulf. And he's definitely right on that point.

     Fafnir

The dragon that Siegfried famously "slew." Older brother to Lofn and Lyng, his defeat and disgrace involved being turned into a woman by Gram's magic and then assaulted. Since then, Fafnir's joined Burgundy's Rosengarten team for not-yet-clear reasons (presumably vengeance).

  • Big Brother Bully: It's heavily implied that he roughed up the twins when they followed Lynn into the castle, and during the "Items" round he supplied a cursed treasure that drove their fused form berserk.
  • Card-Carrying Villain: Fafnir seems to revel in being evil for its own sake, and often stops in his tracks to consider which course of action would be the most evil to take.
Fafnir: How nice... The feeling of trampling over the weak... Being evil is truly the best!

     Hagen

Burgundian general and Siegfried's killer. Took a hit from Gram during their last duel, but doesn't seem to mind. Part of Burgundy's team for the Rosengarten.

  • Berserk Button: Hagen does not like it when anyone tries to steal his children. Having them pay more attention to someone else counts.
  • Cool Sword: Hagen wields the counterpart sword to Gram, Balmung, which is capable of turning women into men. It can also change shape to attack from unexpected angles.
  • Curb Stomp Cushion: Say!Hi!Jump! manages to put the pressure on Hagen by rushing him together. Eventually he decides to start fighting seriously and uses the true power of the Tarnkappe. Say!Hi!Jump! doesn't last long after that.
  • Flash Step: When Lynn runs into Hagen's... nursery, she quickly realizes it's not something she was meant to see and quietly tries to take her leave. She can't even take one step backwards before Hagen is already standing behind her, asking her how she got past the barrier blocking passage.
  • In Touch with His Feminine Side: It's not clear how much this was the case before getting step one of the Siegfried special, but post-gender bender Hagen is quite happy with being a woman. Even thanks Siegfried for allowing him (her?) an opportunity to unleash his inner maternal instincts.
  • Master Swordsman: Bonafides: killed Siegfried. The latter even comments that Hagen is even stronger as a woman than when he was a man.
  • My Beloved Smother: In much the same vein as Siegfried's domination kink or Dietrich's masochism fetish, Hagen has developed a deep-rooted fondness for the maternal role of infantile play.

     Gernot

Burgundy's minister of finance and brother to the reigning king. A bureaucrat through and through, he simply cannot be arsed to care when he's off the clock, but between the hours of nine and five he's all business.

  • Brilliant, but Lazy: Gernot is such a pathological bureucrat that he literally can't be arsed to do anything when he's off the clock.
  • Butt-Monkey: Gernot really tries to be a dignified and respectable MC for the Rosengarten Schlacht, but this year's contestants are seriously trying his patience with their antics.
  • Cool and Unusual Punishment: Gernot dreads becoming the target of Hagen's maternal instincts if he should fail to run the Rosengarten Schlacht properly. This year's participants thus end up becoming the bane of his existence by constantly going Off the Rails.
  • Establishing Character Moment: During his introduction, Gernot comes off as a Lazy Bum who couldn't care less for the Rosengarten Schlacht, let alone doing his job as MC. Then he stares at the sun, realizes it's 9AM and fixes his appearance before enthusiastically explaining the rules of the qualifiers.
  • Exact Words: When the audience complains that Team Persia interfered in Fafnir and Rüdiger's fight, Gernot shamelessly retorts that, while he did say that the barrier (which he opened with the intent of rescuing Rüdiger from Fafnir) is designed to prevent outside interference, he never said that interference is actually against the rules. The audience is not amused, and even Gernot admits to himself that he's pushing how much he can bend the rules with such a flimsy explanation, but is content with the result as long as Team Burgundy can win the remaining fights.
  • Miser Advisor:
    • The Money course was Unwinnable by Design: the amount of chips the contestants need to gather (which are actual coins from Burgundy's treasury) can only be feasibly won at the high-stakes table, which is run by Brunhild, of all people. Because she always wins, every contestant entering Kasino Walhalla ends up leaving without their pants. As added insurance, to prevent Brunhild's weakness from being used against her, she had a magical restraint placed on her eyes to blur her vision. This bites Gernot in the ass when every contestant in the People and Treasure courses ends up failing, meaning if someone doesn't win the Money course the Rosengarten Schlacht will be reduced to the two seeded teams. Aladdin and his heist crew manage to turn things around, but it comes at the cost of most of Burgundy's treasure, much to Gernot's chagrin.
    • Let's just say Gernot is not too keen on the wanton property damage piling up. He tries to fix this by surrounding the arena with a magic barrier (sold to him by Merlin), allegedly ten times stronger than steel and capable of repairing itself, that should be able to contain the damage from the fights. Beowulf and Takeru don't take long to tear the damn thing apart, forcing Gernot to rush into buying an even stronger barrier from Merlin.
Alibaba: ...Why didn't you just use this from the start?
Gernot: SHUT YOUR TRAP!! YOU GUYS KEEP BREAKING STUFF, SO I HAD TO ORDER THIS FAST!! NOT TO MENTION THAT P-HEAD IS SO DAMN EXPENSIVE!! KEEP YAMMERING AND I'LL SEND THE BILLS TO YOU MEATHEADS!!!
    • He only allows Takeru to leave the colosseum, even though letting him go after his rampage would be a stain on Burgundy, after Orochi returns Tsuchigumo's share of the gold from the Money course in exchange for safe passage. Then again, Gernot is perceptive enough to realize that picking a fight with Orochi is probably not smart, even with the entirety of the Valkyries taking her on at once.
    • When asked if he favors Rüdiger because he's afraid of the Huns, Gernot angrily retorts that trading with them is far too profitable to let Rüdiger's death become the catalyst for war.
    • By the second round Gernot wises up and simply teleports the teams to an open field. No risk of collateral damage that way.
  • No-Respect Guy: No one really seems to respect Gernot's authority unless he threatens to disqualify someone.

     Princess Kriemhild

Princess of Burgundy and Siegfried's widow. Her face is identical to Lynn's, but no one other than Lynn or Brunhild seems to notice.

     King Gunther

Ruler of Burgundy, husband to Brunhild, Gernot and Kriemhild's brother, and Sieg's brother-in-law.

  • Compelling Voice: Appears to have this. A few words from him turned the crowd from supporting the fight in the arena to turning against the fighters. It isn't all powerful though as it is implied that certain people can resist it.

    Giselher

The youngest prince of Burgundy, captain of the Imperial Guard and the man who came up with the rules for the Rosengarten Schlacht. Serves as the referee for the second round of matches.

  • Bishōnen: Giselher's facial features are rather effeminate.
  • Universally Beloved Leader: The moment he makes his first appearance the crowd in the colosseum starts cheering for him.

Bern

     Hildebrand

A famous and accomplished warrior from Bern, and Dietrich's instructor. Appears (understandably) embarrassed of his old charge.

  • Broken Pedestal: After Dietrich failed to show up for his own coronation and his uncle Ermrich became king in his place, Hildebrand lost all respect for his former protégé. Dietrich manages to regain Hildebrand's respect after letting him know how highly he thinks of Lynn and how she is helping him understand what it means to be a good king, as per Hildebrand's own teachings.
  • Entertainingly Wrong: Chastises Dietrich for mentally projecting the face of Kriemhild on Lynn, completely unaware that this is her real face beneath her curse (which appears to lose its effect in the deeper layers of the human mind).
  • I'll Kill You!: Hildebrand and his students swear to kill Dietrich if they should end up fighting in the tournament.
Hildebrand: IF WE MEET IN THE MAIN EVENTS WE'LL BUTCHER YOU WITHOUT LEAVING A PIECE OF FLESH ON YOUR BONES! PREPARE YOURSELF!
  • Made of Iron: Can take several powerful blows with very little consequence. Hildebrand can even block a slash from Takeru (with a little assistance from Beowulf) by simply standing firm. According to Heime, attacks with hostile intent have no effect on Hildebrand, who can govern the hearts of people.
  • Mentor Archetype: Hildebrand sees it as his calling to educate the younger generation through violence so that they may eventually attain the truth of things.
  • No-Holds-Barred Beatdown: Delivers a ferocious onslaught of swings to Dietrich, each blow strong enough to shatter solid rock, while his face doesn't budge a muscle.
  • Respected by the Respected: As a testament to his might, Beowulf asserts during Hildebrand's introduction that they crossed blades once in the past, and that it ended in a draw.
  • Super-Strength:
    • Smacks Bodhidharma hard enough to send him flying into the sky.
    • He deals such a powerful swing at Dietrich that not only does it pulverize the magic barrier surrounding the arena, which is specifically designed to prevent attacks from reaching the audience, but the shockwave from his attack carves a hole through the colosseum's walls and reaches far into the city, levelling the streets in a straight line.
  • Warrior Therapist: Hildebrand's shown an ability to read the intent behind attacks made against him, and offer response in kind.
    • He is able to have an entire philosophical discussion with Bodhidharma simply by trading blows with one another.
    • During his duel with Dietrich, Hildebrand weaponizes his ability in order to torture his former student. Unfortunately, Dietrich's mental image of Lynn tortures the blasted pervert way harder than Hildebrand can. With just her words, even.

     Heime

     Witige

A swordsman famed for being undefeated.

Say!Hi!Jump!

     Galahad

Center performer on vocals and guitar. Got into the Idol life after seeing Arthur and KRT13 perform.

     Percival

     Bors

     Lancelot

Say!Hi!Jump!'s producer and Galahad's father.

  • Amazingly Embarrassing Parents: Galahad is not amused at the fact that Lancelot also wants to join KRT13 as a fellow Idol, but is mortified that he doesn't even shave his legs. Percival and Bors aren't exactly thrilled, either.
  • Ascended Fanboy: When KRT13 scouts Say!Hi!Jump! following the redemption round, Lancelot jumps at the opportunity to throw himself into the deal and join the group (much to Say!Hi!Jump!'s utter embarrassment). Arthur, Kay and Merlin accept without issue, while Gawain is too confused to argue.
  • The Chessmaster: Implied. Merlin theorizes that Lancelot must have known about Balmung's power to turn women into men, and planned for Say!Hi!Jump! to fight Hagen in order to be affected by it so that they (and he) could join KRT13.
  • Otaku: Lancelot is such a big fan of KRT13 that he has watched all of their live concerts. He indulges Galahad's dream of becoming an Idol that can compete with them in the hopes that KRT13 will scout them, since they would likely garner more attention as rivals than as fans.

No Team

     Alwilda

A nautical property redistribution expert who joined the redemption round to help improve her chances of finding a husband.

  • Harsh Word Impact: When Witige tells her that her ideal marriage partner would probably already be married by the time Alwilda found him, she's frozen on the spot.
  • Has a Type: Her list of requirements for potential suitors is... specificnote .
  • Old Maid: Alwilda is on the cusp of becoming 29 and remains single. While her parents arranged a marriage partner for her, Alwilda found that he didn't live up to her (not at all specific) standards, so she has come to the Rosengarten Schlacht to find one.
  • Pirate Girl: Hat, cutlass, swagger.

     Bodhidharma

A traveling Song Dynasty ascetic who joins the redemption round. At first he seems unimpressive compared to the other contestants, but then his robe comes off to reveal a musclebound physique that Adon and Samson would envy.

  • Graceful Loser: Though a little shocked that Hildebrand was able to catch him off balance and send him flying, he ultimately laughs it off, satisfied from their exchange.
Bodhidharma: Hohoho! It seems I still have training to do!
  • Made of Iron: Iron that's been refined after years of training, strong enough to tank blows from Hildebrand (the momentum is a different matter).
  • A Twinkle in the Sky: Hildebrand defeats Bodhidharma by smacking him in the rear hard enough to send him flying.
