open Does This Violate ROCEJ?
I've never brought up before but the Pro Jared thing brought it to mind again. Nearly every page related to the now infamous psyguy has a huge disclaimer in special font warning about him being a sex offender:
Considering I've never seen this for any other creator (not even John K, who is still active and interacting with underage fans on instagram) that was outted as a predator I was wondering if this was something that was approved as a special case or the user that went around doing it just kind of went rogue.
openCan we just add a long running series as a franchise?
I wonder how we can add a certain series as a franchise, because they don't have such a page.
I'd like to make a Franchise page to these two medias:
- Cardfight!! Vanguard, because it has 3 anime series, a cardgame and a few videogames, two mangas and a 4koma manga/anime that began in 2011.
- Video Game/Medabots, because it has an anime series with two seasons and multiple video games and spin offs even though only the anime and three video games came to the west.
openCrowners on Trope Repair Shop and Image Pickin
It seems all of the crowners I have seen today have "test Bibble Bobble phlebotinum Looks like we've got redlinking working!" in all of the options on the crowners. Is this a spammer or something like that?
open The United Tropes Page
Hi I'm New Here and I was wondering if it would be ok if i remade the Uniteds tv tropes page
openNo Title
Would it be okay to make a ComicBook. The Lion King page to refer to various mostly unrelated comics? Or are pages supposed to be about one specific work?
openWhich category?
Just launched Dream Episode. I know it belongs on, well, Episodes, but I'm not sure which folder to put it in.
Edit: Nevermind, someone else went ahead and put under "Unusual Situation".
Edited by WarJay77openPossible vandal? Literature
There's been a troper by the name of Frag Wall who's been around for a little while, and they keep adding ZeroContextExamples to Cormac McCarthy pages, and has created a few stub pages that have since been deleted. Normally, I'd let it slide, but what makes me suspicious is that one of these stubs originally started with "Suttree is shit", which leads me to believe they're deliberately vandalizing the wiki. If I'm wrong, feel free to disregard this.
openMutually exclusive tropes Film
The MCU: Spider-Man page features both Adaptational Early Appearance and Adaptational Late Appearance. I think that having two tropes with diametrically opposite meanings might confuse readers but troper Anicomicgeek disagrees. Instead of starting an Edit War, I thought of bringing the discussion here and show you what's happening.
- Adaptational Early Appearance: His relationship with Tony Stark. In the comics, Peter was more-or-less self-taught and figured things out his own way, but eventually gained Tony Stark as a mentor when he took a job at his company, but here, Tony begins mentoring Peter when he's still new to things. Notably, Tony gave Peter the job in the comics as a cover because Peter had moved in with the Avengers alongside his wife, Mary Jane Watson, and they needed to excuse why the Parkers were living there. This Peter is still too young to get married and is still living with Aunt May. While Tony Stark was actually introduced in the comics after Peter Parker, Stark can be seen as a stand-in for Reed Richards, who Parker originally looked up to.
- Adaptational Late Appearance: Despite the Adaptational Early Appearance with his relationship with Tony, Peter himself is this, as this Peter lived in a world where the Avengers existed for years before he became Spider-Man and idolized Iron Man. His comic counterpart actually predates Tony becoming Iron Man and by extension the founding of the Avengers themselves.
As you can see, both tropes inform about different points about Spider-Man's history, but I don't think it's a good idea to feature them both at the same time. What do you think?
openAlternate Reality Game
Why does this index some works and not others? I just added Dad to the list, but the page isn't listed as an index for it, much like many other works on the page. Works like Everyman HYBRID and The Lost Experience, meanwhile, have it as one of their indexes. Is there something obvious I'm missing, or...?
openSmall edit war
I noticed an edit war start on Creator.Mercury Records. Mark Lungo added Kraftwerk to the page in 2017. It was recently deleted, and they added it again— albeit with a note added as to how the group applies; but it seems that no discussion took place beyond the new edit reason.
openEdit War Western Animation
The Tropper keeps deleting the capsule descriptions on Recap.Steven Universe, for no apparent reason other than claiming they're "unnecessary". I feel like there's room for the capsule descriptions just like on some of the other Recap indexes, and that the individual episode pages should be for longer, more fleshed-out descriptions of the episodes.
openPokémon Woolseyisms
After comparing a bunch of Pokémon dubbed episodes to their subbed counterparts, I think that the series deserves a woolseyism page unto itself. With the original dub, at least, there’ve been a bunch of clever changes to the original script, far more than I could list here. Permission to create?
openHaving serious problems formatting a quote
I spotted the trope Parking Problems. The leading quote is sarcasm mode but any attempt to pothole the trope to the quote ends in failure and a broken link. I tried to do as it said in the formatting faq and it still failed. What am I doing wrong here?
openLocking YMMV/SonicTheHedgehog2019? Film
As reported here, here and here, the Sonic The Hedgehog 2019 page is full of complains and knee-jerk reactions about an unreleased film. Also we recently had to cut a Nightmare Fuel subpage because it was used as an excuse to complain about Sonic's design and stuff
Wouldn't it be better to lock the page until the full release of the film?
open"was" Web Original
On the ProJared page, someone changed "is a gaming review channel" to "was a gaming review channel". Other parts of the page were also changed to past tense.
I thought his channel was still going? I thought he still had an active career? I didn't think he stopped making videos.
Edited by Mickoonsley19openGainaxing in Fanfiction
If a characters breasts are noted as being ridiculously bouncy with every movement can it still be filed under Gainaxing even though it's in fanfiction and Gainaxing is an animation trope? Or is there a better trope to file it under?

openWhich Tropes Are These? Web Original
I have questions about tropes in The JWL. I think these might be examples of Morton's Fork or The Chessmaster or Batman Gambit but I'm really not sure.
At JWL SuperBrawl I, the main event was the 22-woman Royal Rumble for the JWL Women's Title. Jacqueline came in at #8 and, to everyone's surprise, singlehandedly eliminated Chyna. Instead of staying in the match, Jackie eliminated herself and she and Chyna fought to the back. The following night, on Episode 22, Jackie challenged Chyna to a match at JWL WrestleMania I. Jackie won a Squash Match on Episode 23. After winning a Squash on Episode 24, Jackie called out Chyna to accept her challenge, and here is where the tropes I am asking about come into play.
CHYNA: "Look Jackie, you're the only one who would benefit from this match. I beat you, big deal, I beat someone much smaller than me. You beat me, I end up looking weak because I lost to someone smaller. I have nothing to gain. So give me one good reason why I should face you at WrestleMania."
JACQUELINE: "Because if you don't, I'll tell everyone week after week that you are a coward! That you ain't got the guts to face me. I will torment you and make your life a living hell. In fact, I'm raising the stakes. You versus me at WrestleMania in a Loser-Leaves-the-JWL match!"
Crowd pops at the thought of being rid of Chyna. Chyna is on the spot now and has to respond.
CHYNA: "I admit it would feel really good to kick your ass out of the JWL and prove that I am superior. You're on for the Loser-Leaves-the-JWL match at WrestleMania!"
Along with identifying which tropes these were, should they be listed on the main page or the character sheets? Thank you very much.
Edited by KJTropesopenComplaining example on Avengers: Endgame Headscratchers
Headscratchers.Avengers Endgame has a query, in the folder titled "Is Captain Marvel just a walking deus ex machina?", which reads more like complaining than an actual example of Fridge Logic. It's like whoever added it thinks Headscratchers is still called It Just Bugs Me!. Should it be removed?
I was wondering if there was a dedicated forum or page that could let you request a page be made Spoilers Off.
