Weird dreams

Had a dream where my deceased father was working somewhere but he was away all day and I had to do some kind of deal to get him out. I was very afraid of this deal for some reason.

So I had one of the most bizarre dreams I've had in a while last night:

It started off with me somehow ending up locked in a bookstore with Cricket Green. While Cricket was off doing other things that I can't remember at this point, I looked around at the books and discovered a new Encyclopedia Brown book, which (since the original author had passed away) was a compilation of different mysteries based on the series written and illustrated by different people. None of the mysteries made any sort of sense and featured stuff that was incredibly outlandish for the series (such as characters having the ability to fly, interacting with ghosts, vehicles with designs that defied physics, and Bugs Meany at one point turning into a talking elephant with an incredibly long, serpentine body). Encyclopedia Brown and Bugs were the only other established characters who showed up as well (not even Brown's parents or Sally appeared).

Then things started to get really weird as elements from the book seemed to start leaking into the "real world", in particular the ghosts and other strange creatures featured in the book, leaving Cricket and I locked in the building with them. We managed to escape by breaking the lock on the front door of the bookstore, but then Elephant!Bugs told us that by doing this, we had freed them and allowed them to wreak havoc on the town. At this point everything went to hell, with the entire town being turned into a surreal nightmare land reminiscent of Gravity Falls during Weirdmageddon by the strange creatures with people having bizarre things happen to them (I remember seeing Arnold randomly turning into a paint roller brush). Somehow, I managed to find my parents and grandpa amidst the chaos, and we fled the town to the beach where absolutely nothing out of the ordinary was happening, except that my dad was apparently growing "chicken pot pie plants" in a garden and apparently harvest had been really good because he had gotten two years worth of chicken pot pies from them.

And that, ladies and gentlemen, is what happens when you go to bed right after having really spicy chicken strips for dinner.

My dreams are always that bizarre though, regardless of what I had for dinner.

I once dreamt that Spock wanted to mind-meld with my grandparents' cat, and McCoy was yelling at him not to.

I had a weird dream last night about a gay propaganda law called... "Bi Guy" (I selected my title before sleep), similar to the one in Russia and Hungary, being put in effect in America, where it would be illegal to promote LGBT+ ideologies to children. (In Real Life, the law would be in violation of the First Amendment.) Later in the dream, it was revealed that the Oscars would keep nominating foreign films with gay themes, even if Moral Guardians would go crazy.

I woke up at 5:30am, then I went back to sleep. Then another dream for 20 minutes played, with me walking around at random places, while Judy Collins' "My Father" played in the background.

So basically the opposite of the real life Oscars.

This one was brief, but pretty interesting regardless: My family and I were in a beautiful mansion, as highly-privileged guests. I have no idea where we were, but it probably wasn't anywhere near Venezuela, or even the Americas, because the texts were in an unrecognizable language (though they vaguely reminded me of Dutch, so it was likely that); at least the hosts spoke Spanish and English, so my family was fine (I'm fluent in both languages). Night fell eventually, and I was given a comfy beige bed int he third floor to sleep; it was also faily cold in the whole area, so it was likely winter. At one point, I was in need of going to the bathroom to pee, but I couldn't enter my room's bathroom because it was actually reserved to someone else (yes, the bathroom designations were mixed up for some reason), so I hado to go to the first floor to go to the bathroom that was authorized for me. When I walked downstars to the second floor, I saw Hugh Laurie preparing for something that was being filmed there. He even gave me a sheet with his autograph!

I never reached the bathroom, though, because I woke up shortly afterwards.

I had to take a really weird drive to get to the mall, including through a very narrow building, but then decided that making a left turn onto a completely empty multi-lane street was too scary and stopped driving at that point.

I dreamed that I was in a post-apocalyptic world, surviving with few other people, and all animals and such mutated in order to survive.

Okay, I had dreams where I was Sam Shaw, but last night I had a dream that I was Ricardo Tubbs. And obviously, I went undercover along with Sonny Crockett (who looked like an unlicensed Telltale Games version) to arrest some Latino drug kingpin.

I dreamt that I got to meet Lizzo in person and she hated me :(

I dreamed I watched an episode of Miraculous Ladybug introducing a new hero with an armadillo Kwami. I went nuts about his design and I wanted to cosplay him and almost went to change my nickname on every website to that hero's name.

I see you're a person of culture as well.

I dreamed that a comment I made on Reddit got over 2000 upvotes. I hardly even post on my Reddit account.

I dreamed I went to Disneyland... well, a place that they claimed it was Disneyland.

It was actually more like a large town-outdoor mall filled with comic book shops, retrogaming stores, stores that sold merchandise for a single franchise each (I remember seeing a Star Wars and a We Bare Bears one) and so on. The only mascot character was Banjo (or at least the only one I saw because apparently before going I had to pick a single character as a sort of tour guide and I chose Banjo). And of course there were no rides or stuff, but there was an app to download on your phone that gave you clues for a sort of treasure hunt around the various stores.

I dreamt that I chased down and met Scott The Woz at a convention (probably cuz IRL he's going to a convention soon and I considered going)... except I happened to be shirtless. Nobody minded though.

I don't feel like commenting last night's dream, because it was very disturbing and mildly NSFW too. So I'll spare the details.

In the first half, we were visiting some relatives we have in another state. But at one point a couple arrived the house and began making out in front of all of us, yet no one saw it as a big deal Because it did make me uncomfortable (I never had a girlfriend IRL), I went to another part of the house... and then a dark-skinned woman approached me to give me a kiss. I woke up before anything happened, as is always the case with dreams like this. -_-

In the second half, someone had gifted me a small notebook with some cool fanart on Mario enemies and items. It was pretty, so I began looking at the pics page by page,... and then my father came to me, took the notebook by force and began ripping the sheets. My mother quickly approached to tell him that it wasn't the notebook he was looking for, and he told me he mistook it for one that was being vandalized by my brother's son (who is a baby). He apologized, but I was so furious that I grabbed a steel cane and began to bring him down repeatedly with it. My mother ran away in panic, and when I was about to give him the final blow an old woman looked and me and screamed in terror. I woke up immediately.

I woke up completely horrified. Super horrified. In the morning, the first thing I did when I saw my father was to give him a prolonged hug.

I dreamed that Whirl and my Senri avatar from Fer.al hung out in a mountainside cabin. The cabin didn't belong to either of them.

Remember the Sonic.exe getting ratioed post I put here? It's a subreddit now.

I dreamt that Jacksepticeye thought there should be an anime in which a wizard transfers all of his magical powers into a duck.

I was in some sort of Pokemon game world because I was surfing along the beach trying to fish, and I could see what Pokemon were in the water, and instead of catching the Magikarp I was going for I got a Tentacool which I was cool with (pun only sort of intended). I also found a shiny Skarmory in a tree but instead of being smart and catching it I attacked it with fire type moves until it fainted, and then immediately felt guilty about it and didn't tell anyone that the Skarmory I just fought was shiny.

It would have been a pretty funny misunderstanding if you kept that post in the Odd Confessions thread.

It's a good thing I'm not a shiny hunter or that dream would've been horrifying

My dream last night was pretty awesome. It was basically a Kung Fu Panda self-insert fanfic.

My character was some sort of priest, druid, or other religious figure. I was a Squishy Wizard. I wasn't strong or athletic, but I had magic powers. I can't remember what animal I was, but I'm just going to assume it was a cat. After all, Cats Are Magic (and cute.)

The story of this dream was that Kai from Kung Fu Panda 3 suddenly attacked the abbey/cathedral/wherever I lived, and his magic was stronger than ever. Most of the dream was basically a boss fight. I was losing, but it was still a cool dream. I was waving my hands and doing all kinds of Doctor Strange-type stuff.

It was raining pretty heavily last night, so it seems my brain used that as the basis for a dream.

A god swoops in and decimates the Earth with a single swipe of his hand before fleeing into the cosmos. Only a handful of people remain, stranded on a small island filled with wreckage. The world is covered in a heavy, forever downpour and the sea is filled with frostbite-inducing water that will instantly kill you if you try to swim for too long. One woman decides to swim out to see what she can find, so the others gather whatever they can to ensure that if she goes out, it at least won't be from drowning. After sometime, she reaches the edge of the world: their piece of the Earth is now a flat slab with water flowing off it like a waterfall, with the underside being a painful gravity well that, when she tries to enter, deposits her in another dimension: the realm of the Gods.

Here she learns that two of the Gods — an Earth goddess and a god of... I dunno — have loathed each other since time immemorial, and the latter had destroyed the Earth as their most recent attempt to get under the other's skin. Seeing that a human had managed to survive however, he agrees to give the woman two weeks to cheer the Earth goddess up and cease her tears (which are causing the rain back home). If she succeeds, Earth will be restored. She fails, as it turns out the god was counting from the moment the woman's journey started, which means she only had a few hours left to attempt the task. However, she manages to convince him to allow both her and her comrades to be reborn in another world where they can try again to save the Earth. He agrees.

My dream ended shortly after he killed them all and established them within a new domain with most of their memories gone: the set of MTV's The Real World.
