Girls Are Really Scared of Horror Movies describes in the description about a straight couple (a boyfriend and a girlfriend) watching a horror movie, and the female is the one gets scared (not the male). However, how this is used might seem specific, and there are several wicked/potholed examples that are extended into usage that doesn't fit at least one of the category of the description; ranging from:- Cases where the girl isn't compared with a specific male - this comes into the subcategory of either no comparison, or is compared with another female, or compared with more than one character (and also including shows that are all-female due to Chromosome Casting or Improbably Female Cast),
- Examples that come not specifically to Horror movies, which includes other horror-related media such as games or haunted houses,
- Subversion/aversions/inversions showing a female isn't scared or rather the male or someone else nearby is scared, some even outright coming into Nightmare Fetishist territory,
- Cases where the male is also scared, or any case where the male is the only one who is terrified,
- As well as other ambiguous or ZCE cases.
These are the results of the wick check:
- Correct and straight usage (Girls that are scared of horror movies, compared with their male partner): 7 / 50 (14%)

My guess on how this happened is because the trope description seems strictly specific, and the wicks leading to it make examples of it is easy to misuse it just to expand to ghost stories, scary places, and especially notably just apply it on instances of girls who display this form of scare, either when grouped with other girls, or just alone.
Suggested suggestion by Hello 83433: "A rename could be a potential option, to bring attention to the relationship aspect rather than just a girl being scared by a horror movie". Other alternative suggestions can be also posted here.
Type A: Girls that are scared of horror movies, compared with their male partner (Correct Usage) - 7 / 50
- 1: Fanfic.Knights Of The Otherworld: A side story has the Knights having a movie "knight" with their dates, the movie in question being Dracula (1931). Though the movie is tame by today's standards, several of Dracula's actions were enough to terrify most of the EAH girls. Cupid doesn't seem very amused with the movie, given how she's friends with Dracula's daughter. Though it seems to mention multiple couples, most of the girls here are terrified, played straight with the trope definition in mind.
- 2: Characters.Azur Lane Iris Libre: In her (Maillé Brézé) The Noble Knight's Last Stand skin, she's freaked herself out by watching a horror movie and begs the Commander to stay with her until she falls asleep. The Commander is actually not just mere stand-in for the player and is confirmed male, so that would count (given that this is in a straight couple context).
- 3: Fanfic.Little Moments: Gwen gets suckered into watching Evil Dead 2 on New Year's Eve. Less cliché when one realizes why this movie in particularly terrifies Gwen: A girl chants a magic spell out of a magic book and accidentally summons demons. Unbeknownst to Ben, Gwen has had nightmares of this situation happening to her. After further checking on the original source that is still accessible, it's this movie Gwen is particularly scared of (even though she likes them otherwise), and Ben actually does get her to watch it and Gwen is scared of this part specific. This is more of a specific movie-fear example, but I think it could count.
- 4: Manga.Midori Days: Ayase manages to get a date with Seiji, having watched the movie three times beforehand to locate all the scary parts that would justify her giving Seiji a Security Cling. Unfortunately, it fails every time. In the first instance, it happens because Midori falls victim to this, which startles Ayase and distracts Seiji in his attempts to hide Midori.
- 5: Manga.Psychic Squad: Aside from the opening skit where they tell viewers to watch the show with the lights on, in episode 9 Minamoto takes them to watch The Ring. While he didn't seem particularly scared of it, Kaoru is clutching him afterwards, and the other two (Aoi and Shiho) suffer a Color Failure. It's multiple girls, but they're watching with a male. Played straight for all three of these girls.
- 6: Manga.Himouto Umaru Chan: Umaru starts getting freaked out in Chapter 26/Episode 3C after a storm causes a power blackout, and she starts thinking about the ghosts from the horror movie she just watched earlier with her brother. - 7: Webcomic.Naru Hina Chronicles: Shino has a date with Hanajima at a movie theater. He suggests they go watch a horror movie. She's unsure about it given it seems pretty scary. When Shino tells her they could watch something else, Hanajima says she doesn't mind the horror movie and adds that she can hold onto him if she gets scared. They have a double date with Lee and Arekusu when they watch the horror movie. Of course, both girls end up holding onto the boys during a scary scene. Played straight on both of these.
Type B: Girls that are scared of horror movies, without comparing to a specific male partner - 10 / 50
- 1: Characters.Kanon:(Ayu Tsukimiya) gets freaked out when watching one. Considering her mentality is that of a child… No mentioning of male counterpart, though otherwise she is frightened.
- 2: Manga.Lucky Star: Tsukasa is particularly shown to be, while Konata and Kagami are shown to actively enjoy being scared by it. Tsukasa tells Miyuki later on that she only watches because she doesn't have a choice, though this is most likely her not wanting to be rude and just going along with things, rather than anyone actively forcing her to. - Example that puts relationship between all-female group.
- 3: Characters.The Idolmaster Cinderella Girls Masters1st To6th: Ironically, despite her (Ranko) love of darkness and gothic things, she's terrified of horror movies to the point that she'll hide in a corner or break down into tears. She's especially afraid of ghosts. This gets exemplified in her focus episode in the anime, where she has issues communicating that she likes darkness, but not horror. Unfortunately for her, one of her roommates is Koume. Later, this is exploited in Episode 26, where her fear allows her to give a genuinely horrified scream when shooting a scene in a horror movie with zombies advancing upon her. Well-written example aside from being female-to-female in relationship.
- 4: Fanfic.Winging It With Sayo: Both Saya and Lisa invoke this in Chapter 9 when watching a horror movie with Rimi and Sayo respectively. Might be lacking context but regardless, it's clear that this is between only female characters.
- 5: Webcomic.Nijiyon: In Episode 3 of Nijiyon Animation, Mia, Yu, Shioriko, and Emma can't seem to handle horror movies in general, as they're seen quivering and spooked out while watching the horror movie Setsuna, Ayumu, and Shizuku rented out for their subunit's reference. Mia in particular is so scared, that she even blurts out that she's only 14 years old shortly after pulling her seniority rank over Ayumu a moment before. Another all-female cast show example.
- 6: Film.Ready Player One 2018: Aech, even before her gender is revealed, admits that she really hates scary movies. While she does have a couple partner, this doesn't directly put comparison to, so it goes here.
- 7: Manga.The Demon Girl Next Door: Zigzagged. Mikan drags Yuko out to a horror movie; she wants to practice subjecting herself to something scary as training to keep her feelings in check, and doesn't want to go by herself. Mikan is a nervous wreck for half the movie...and unconscious for the other half. Yuko enjoys the movie, roots for the zombies, and cries at the end when the heroes win. Other potential conflicting meanings aside, they're both girls.
- 8: Characters.K On: (Mio Akiyama) Freaks out when Ritsu just shows her the cover of a DVD, and later when she describes a (fake) horror movie to her. That's just female/female example. Horror movie is mentioned though so it doesn't overlap with Type C.
- 9: Characters.Saki Semifinals A: In Saki Biyori she (Ryuuka) admits that she's bad with scary stuff, and chooses to watch the film in English, because it would be scary enough even if they don't understand the plot. By contrast, Toki has a much more understated reaction to when the zombies finally arrive. Her comparison is just with another girl, though that's no surprise as it's another Improbably Female Cast show.
- 10: Manga.Wataten An Angel Flew Down To Me: Noa invokes this in Episode 10 when she brings a horror movie for everyone to watch, saying that being scared by a horror movie is a great opportunity for a girl to show off her cuteness. She then uses a scary scene as an opportunity to cling onto Hinata while not looking very scared at all. Hana plays this straight as she gets creeped out by the movie to where she asks Miyako to walk her to the bathroom at night when she can't sleep. Another Improbably Female Cast show example.
Type C: Girls that are scared of horror stuff that do not mention about horror movies - 8 / 50
- 1: Characters.Project Sekai Vivid Bad Squad: (An Shiraishi is) deathly afraid of ghosts and ghost stories to the point of going pale and becoming jumpy at the mere mention of them. This trait takes center focus in the event story Scream!? Welcome to the Wolf Forest! when Kohane's class is assigned to make a haunted house for her school's cultural festival. Kohane invites An and the rest of Vivid BAD SQUAD but worries that An won't be able to enjoy it despite the efforts she makes to accommodate her. Things go bad quickly when Kohane accidentally scares An with the wolf mask she was wearing and a two-chapter-long chase sequence ensues. Phasmophobia / fear of ghosts through haunted houses and ghost stories
- 2: Characters.Persona 4 Arena Shadow Operatives: Yukari's phasmophobia is still quite evident and Junpei gleefully takes advantage of this when their together. In her arcade route Yukari fearfully notes that the newly transformed Yasogami High School looks haunted. Non-horror movie mention of horror. There's also similar example in the Characters.Persona 3 SEES example that falls under the same reason (implied to be Ghost Story).
- 3: Manga.Wagnaria: Well, it was a scary book Yamada was reading, but it puts Popura in this mood in episode 11 of the first season. Then Satou spooks her by saying he saw a headless woman in the back of his car, then tells her you shrink when you're sleeping, then says he met a bear the other day. She screams during each one, and he wonders if she's easily spooked. Takanashi later scares both Inami and Yamada when they claim they weren't scared staying in Inami's house rather than spend the night with him and his sisters. Two different guys with the same girl but on different cases, but regardless, no mentioning of horror movies, though likely she's also scared the same way anyways.
- 4: Characters.Sword Art Online Asuna Yuuki: Asuna has repeatedly been shown to be terrified of ghosts:
- 5: Characters.Cardcaptor Sakura: While she can easily handle the Clow Cards, Sakura is terrified of ghosts, in part due to Touya telling her stories about the various ghosts he saw (some of which were missing limbs or stuff like that). Whenever Naoko tells ghost stories around her, she's usually on the verge of fainting from terror. Same as above, fear of ghosts.
- 6: Characters.Counter Side Counter Cases: In the "Year-End Party" event, Sylvia is the only one of the Delta Seven trio to actually be frightened by Machine G.A.P. recounting the story of the Killer of the Holy Night. - 8: Manga.Kotoura San: Haruka during the first part of episode 6 when the ESP club is going through an abandoned hospital that her grandfather deliberately left them at. Well, this isn't a couple-type but it still features both genders, but again this is about a creepy abandoned building that can be considered a haunted house-type fear.

- 1: Website.Not Always Friendly: Invoked but subverted in this story. One of the guys asks the only girl in the room how she can eat after watching The Walking Dead, but it seems like he's more squicked than she is. "Doesn't that look like sausage links to you?" The girlfriend is less scared than the boyfriend.
- 2: Anime.Dragon Pilot Hisone And Masotan: Subverted; Okonogi takes Hisone to see a gruesome zombie movie, but instead of getting scared, she inexplicably starts crying. She later explains she wasn't even paying attention to the movie, and was having Tears of Joy over finally getting to go out and do things with a friend. Definitely not saying actually liking horror, but Hisone doesn't directly react to the horror movie with fear.
- 3: Literature.Toradora: Subverted: Minori Kushieda pretends to be scared senseless by all things horror when, in fact, she loves horror movies and thus, encourages others to try scaring her. While this also might go to the problem of Type B, it's clear that in the character page, she's a Nightmare Fetishist.
- 4: GravityFalls.Tropes F To O: Averted with Wendy Corduroy; she beams with delight while watching a zombie movie with Dipper in "Into the Bunker," and a zombie poster can be seen on her bedroom wall. 'A simple straight aversion.
Type E: The male is also scared along with the female - 2 / 50
- 1: Fanfic.Super Sentai Vs Super Sentai: Mei and Chisato ARE scared of The Ring-like horror movie Jiraiya brought...but so is Takeru. Later, turns out Jiraiya was also scared, but hid it well enough. He confessed in the end. Hoji was the only one unaffected, because he's watched that kind of movie so many times in the past. The girls are scared, but so are two of the men.
- 2: Recap.Mickey Mouse S 3 E 6 Black And White: Inverted; Minnie isn't at all afraid of the horror movie she and Mickey are seeing, and it's Mickey who's terrified. However, she does get scared white along with the audience when Mickey rips through the movie screen towards the end of the short. That's basically both of them are scared at the end.
Type F: Other non-standard context and ZCE - 2 / 50
- 1: Characters.Crush Crush: One part of her (Lotus) second phone fling involves her texting Marshmallow for support after being dared to watch a horror movie. Not sure about this one, we don't know who exactly dared her but she talks with Marshmallow, the player character, which can be either gender, so it's unknown if it's straight ot the context or not.
- 2: Characters.Mega Man Star Force: (Luna Platz), In the second game. Definitely ZCE, even if there are also other problems that could exist.
Multi-types not belonging to Type A, or straight-up ZCE - 17 / 50
- 1: Fanfic.Anchor Foal: Caramel attempts to invoke this in Chapter 17; he takes Fluttershy to a horror movie at the local cinema, feeling she'll be scared enough to snuggle against him for comfort. Subverted in that, thanks to Fluttershy's finding monster biology fascinating, the movie he chose doesn't scare her in the slightest, and she ends up more interested in diagnosing the creature's obvious medical issues. 1. Female/Female relationship, 2. A subversion that also gives a mentioning that Fluttershy has a Nightmare Fetishist trait in finding monster biology fascinating.
- 2: Characters.Busted Korea: Averted; Minyoung and especially Sejeong are the two most courageous members of the team, taking on challenges that the other cast members don't lay their hands on, such as entering suspicious rooms, pressing mysterious buttons, and handling insects and snakes. Mia in particular is so scared, that she even blurts out that she's only 14 years old shortly after pulling her seniority rank over Ayumu a moment before. Another all-female cast show example.
- 6: Film.Ready Player One 2018: Aech, even before her gender is revealed, admits that she really hates scary movies. While she does have a couple partner, this doesn't directly put comparison to, so it goes here.
- 7: Manga.The Demon Girl Next Door: Zigzagged. Mikan drags Yuko out to a horror movie; she wants to practice subjecting herself to something scary as training to keep her feelings in check, and doesn't want to go by herself. Mikan is a nervous wreck for half the movie...and unconscious for the other half. Yuko enjoys the movie, roots for the zombies, and cries at the end when the heroes win. Other potential conflicting meanings aside, they're both girls.
- 8: Characters.K On: (Mio Akiyama) Freaks out when Ritsu just shows her the cover of a DVD, and later when she describes a (fake) horror movie to her. That's just female/female example. Horror movie is mentioned though so it doesn't overlap with Type C.
- 9: Characters.Saki Semifinals A: In Saki Biyori she (Ryuuka) admits that she's bad with scary stuff, and chooses to watch the film in English, because it would be scary enough even if they don't understand the plot. By contrast, Toki has a much more understated reaction to when the zombies finally arrive. Her comparison is just with another girl, though that's no surprise as it's another Improbably Female Cast show.
- 10: Manga.Wataten An Angel Flew Down To Me: Noa invokes this in Episode 10 when she brings a horror movie for everyone to watch, saying that being scared by a horror movie is a great opportunity for a girl to show off her cuteness. She then uses a scary scene as an opportunity to cling onto Hinata while not looking very scared at all. Hana plays this straight as she gets creeped out by the movie to where she asks Miyako to walk her to the bathroom at night when she can't sleep. Another Improbably Female Cast show example.
Type C: Girls that are scared of horror stuff that do not mention about horror movies - 8 / 50
- 1: Characters.Project Sekai Vivid Bad Squad: (An Shiraishi is) deathly afraid of ghosts and ghost stories to the point of going pale and becoming jumpy at the mere mention of them. This trait takes center focus in the event story Scream!? Welcome to the Wolf Forest! when Kohane's class is assigned to make a haunted house for her school's cultural festival. Kohane invites An and the rest of Vivid BAD SQUAD but worries that An won't be able to enjoy it despite the efforts she makes to accommodate her. Things go bad quickly when Kohane accidentally scares An with the wolf mask she was wearing and a two-chapter-long chase sequence ensues. Phasmophobia / fear of ghosts through haunted houses and ghost stories
- 2: Characters.Persona 4 Arena Shadow Operatives: Yukari's phasmophobia is still quite evident and Junpei gleefully takes advantage of this when their together. In her arcade route Yukari fearfully notes that the newly transformed Yasogami High School looks haunted. Non-horror movie mention of horror. There's also similar example in the Characters.Persona 3 SEES example that falls under the same reason (implied to be Ghost Story).
- 3: Manga.Wagnaria: Well, it was a scary book Yamada was reading, but it puts Popura in this mood in episode 11 of the first season. Then Satou spooks her by saying he saw a headless woman in the back of his car, then tells her you shrink when you're sleeping, then says he met a bear the other day. She screams during each one, and he wonders if she's easily spooked. Takanashi later scares both Inami and Yamada when they claim they weren't scared staying in Inami's house rather than spend the night with him and his sisters. Two different guys with the same girl but on different cases, but regardless, no mentioning of horror movies, though likely she's also scared the same way anyways.
- 4: Characters.Sword Art Online Asuna Yuuki: Asuna has repeatedly been shown to be terrified of ghosts:
- 5: Characters.Cardcaptor Sakura: While she can easily handle the Clow Cards, Sakura is terrified of ghosts, in part due to Touya telling her stories about the various ghosts he saw (some of which were missing limbs or stuff like that). Whenever Naoko tells ghost stories around her, she's usually on the verge of fainting from terror. Same as above, fear of ghosts.
- 6: Characters.Counter Side Counter Cases: In the "Year-End Party" event, Sylvia is the only one of the Delta Seven trio to actually be frightened by Machine G.A.P. recounting the story of the Killer of the Holy Night. Doesn't directly reference males but we can assume she's with two guys, so that's fine, but there's no specification for horror movie here.
- 7: Characters.Bravely Default II: Both Gloria and Adelle do not like it when Seth tells a ghost story. While Adelle is merely uncomfortable, Gloria is outright terrified and hastily excuses herself so she won't have to hear any more of it. Ghost stories... this seems to form a recurring pattern'.
- 8: Manga.Kotoura San: Haruka during the first part of episode 6 when the ESP club is going through an abandoned hospital that her grandfather deliberately left them at. Interestingly, neither Yuriko nor Hiyori seems scared of it, despite Haruka clinging onto them. Well, this isn't a couple-type but it still features both genders, but again this is about a creepy abandoned building that can be considered a haunted house-type fear.
Type D: Girls that are NOT scared of horror movies or stuff (including Nightmare Fetishist cases) - 4 / 50
- 1: Website.Not Always Friendly: Invoked but subverted in this story. One of the guys asks the only girl in the room how she can eat after watching The Walking Dead, but it seems like he's more squicked than she is. "Doesn't that look like sausage links to you?" The girlfriend is less scared than the boyfriend.
- 2: Anime.Dragon Pilot Hisone And Masotan: Subverted; Okonogi takes Hisone to see a gruesome zombie movie, but instead of getting scared, she inexplicably starts crying. She later explains she wasn't even paying attention to the movie, and was having Tears of Joy over finally getting to go out and do things with a friend. Definitely not saying actually liking horror, but Hisone doesn't directly react to the horror movie with fear.
- 3: Literature.Toradora: Subverted: Minori Kushieda pretends to be scared senseless by all things horror when, in fact, she loves horror movies and thus, encourages others to try scaring her. While this also might go to the problem of Type B, it's clear that in the character page, she's a Nightmare Fetishist.
- 4: GravityFalls.Tropes F To O: Averted with Wendy Corduroy; she beams with delight while watching a zombie movie with Dipper in "Into the Bunker," and a zombie poster can be seen on her bedroom wall. 'A simple straight aversion.
Type E: The male is also scared along with the female - 2 / 50
- 1: Fanfic.Super Sentai Vs Super Sentai: Mei and Chisato ARE scared of The Ring-like horror movie Jiraiya brought...but so is Takeru. Later, turns out Jiraiya was also scared, but hid it well enough. He confessed in the end. Hoji was the only one unaffected, because he's watched that kind of movie so many times in the past. The girls are scared, but so are two of the men.
- 2: Recap.Mickey Mouse S 3 E 6 Black And White: Inverted; Minnie isn't at all afraid of the horror movie she and Mickey are seeing, and it's Mickey who's terrified. However, she does get scared white along with the audience when Mickey rips through the movie screen towards the end of the short. That's basically both of them are scared at the end.
Type F: Other non-standard context and ZCE - 2 / 50
- 1: Characters.Crush Crush: One part of her (Lotus) second phone fling involves her texting Marshmallow for support after being dared to watch a horror movie. Not sure about this one, we don't know who exactly dared her but she talks with Marshmallow, the player character, which can be either gender, so it's unknown if it's straight ot the context or not.
- 2: Characters.Mega Man Star Force: (Luna Platz), In the second game. Definitely ZCE, even if there are also other problems that could exist.
Multi-types not belonging to Type A, or straight-up ZCE - 17 / 50
- 1: Fanfic.Anchor Foal: Caramel attempts to invoke this in Chapter 17; he takes Fluttershy to a horror movie at the local cinema, feeling she'll be scared enough to snuggle against him for comfort. Subverted in that, thanks to Fluttershy's finding monster biology fascinating, the movie he chose doesn't scare her in the slightest, and she ends up more interested in diagnosing the creature's obvious medical issues. 1. Female/Female relationship, 2. A subversion that also gives a mentioning that Fluttershy has a Nightmare Fetishist trait in finding monster biology fascinating.
- 2: Characters.Busted Korea: Averted; Minyoung and especially Sejeong are the two most courageous members of the team, taking on challenges that the other cast members don't lay their hands on, such as entering suspicious rooms, pressing mysterious buttons, and handling insects and snakes. The girls are not scared, also this is comparison that isn't specifically mentions couple, and then this is scary stuff in general and not horror movies.
- 3: Characters.Bang Dream Poppin Party: Played With. She (Rimi) enjoys reading horror novels, but dislikes haunted houses. As mentioned, while it not specifically refers to horror genre, in addition to being as a character individual, Rimi-rin is for most of the time is a Nightmare Fetishist instead in terms of all horror stuff except haunted houses.
- 4: Manga.Ratman: Rio, she admits that she can't handle scary things, especially when Ratman shows off his teeth. Might be ZCE, but even if it's not, there is no mention of horror movies (this is scary things in general), and only she's subject to witness and react (even if Ratman is a character himself, he's the horror perpetrator, not the victim/witness.)
- 5: Characters.Angel Densetsu: She's scared of ghosts because there are no tangible bodies for her to punch. Doesn't describe how does this compare with a male partner even though it's not an all-female series, also it's just phasomphobia.
- 6: Characters.After The Jungle Series: Very much averted—even when she's only a kindergartener, Megan's really into horror movies, particularly the Evil Twin series. In addition to being not scared, this also doesn't mention anyone to compare with.
- 7: Characters.Nisekoi: Even though she (Seishirou Tsugumi) is a hitman, she is afraid of scary things. ZCE (?), no horror story mention, doesn't directly compare with a male.
- 8: Anime.Koihime Musou: While it's true Kan'u and Chouhi are brave, strong warriors, put a horrifying supernatural monster in front of them, and watch them scream their heads off and run for the hills. Of course, there are no monsters in Koihime Musou. A scary story from Chouun's enough to give them cold feet. All female, though given Improbably Female Cast, but still this is just mentioning about monsters as form of horror and their reaction to a ghost story.
- 9: Characters.Kaguya Sama Love Is War Second Years: Like her relative Kaguya, she (Maki Shijo) can't handle spooky stuff. Doesn't fit the straight couple example nor specification to horror movies.
- 10: Manga.Is The Order A Rabbit: Cocoa, Chino, Rize and Syaro are not fond of ghost stories, while Chiya genuinely enjoys them and regards them as romantic. Ghost stories, not horror movies - in addition to being just all between female characters - though that's expected for an Improbably Female Cast show.
- 11: Characters.My Next Life As A Villainess All Routes Lead To Doom Catarina: As tomboyish as she is, she is still scared by works about ghosts. No direct comparison with a male character, also this is not mentioning about horror movies in direct form.
- 12: Characters.Tokyo Mirage Sessions FE: Unfortunately for (Eleonora), her second side story forced her to study horror due to Dandelion In Love getting a tonal change. This is referring to TV Drama as an actress role, and not to mention this example only mentions herself and no one else.
- 13: Manga.No Matter How I Look At It Its You Guys Fault Im Not Popular: Tomoko tries to exploit this during the culture festival when she takes Yuu to the haunted house, hoping it'll scare her friend so much, she'll cling to Tomoko. It doesn't work; the effects are too cheap to scare Yuu at all, which thoroughly pisses Tomoko off. Female/Female example, also doesn't stick at the end because of, possibly Stylistic Suck.
- 14: Manga.Horimiya: Inverted. Hori actually loves horror movies, while her father and Miyamura can't handle them at all. She does attempt to invoke this in chapter 37 at the suggestion of her friends in order to appear cuter to Miyamura, but everything she does just ends up scaring him instead. An Inversion such as this fits into both type D and type E at the same time.]
- 15: Manga.Shikimoris Not Just A Cutie: Izumi tries to exploit this by taking Shikimori to see a knockoff of It (2017). Naturally, the trope is inverted since she likes it, while he gets scared and she needs to comfort him instead. Type D + Type E since it's the guy who gets scared instead of the girl.
- 16: WesternAnimation.Boy Girl Dog Cat Mouse Cheese: Inverted. When the group watches a horror film, Boy is the only one who is scared, while the others, including Girl, think it's boring. Yeah... that's a Rule of Three to coupled inversions?
- 17: Characters.Klonoa: Lolo is noticeably frightened when the group has to go into the Haunted House of the Joilant Fun Park, being quite vocal about her fears. Another fear tied to haunted house, not horror movies. "Group" doesn't put him in reaction with one of the guys.

In my opinion - as the original poster of this topic:
I think we could have either two possible definitions by the example, one is that is being scared by horror movies/shows (which is going to be part of the rename option),
And then the other is about girls/women being more easily terrified of scary stuff in general.
The former seems more specific and definite enough to keep as a trope of course, so at least it's very likely going to stay albeit renamed. Regardless, we need to make the definition not too specific to limit the amount of correct usages of the tropes.
How many games got ported into Nintendo Switch? A lot of them.

Actually, the two crowner options aren't mutually exclusive, and the consensus is in favor of both renaming and expanding.
However, I can run another crowner for whether to do the proposed split after this one is called. We'd still be deciding names for both tropes if we split since renaming already has consensus.

Double posting because I think this would be the next crowner, since the split idea wasn't accounted for in the current crowner:
Consensus was to make a broader trope that goes beyond situations involving horror movies into the general concept of "women scare easily, men don't", but splitting off examples of romantic situations of women clinging to men during a horror movie/show due to being scared (or alternatively, making this trope gender-neutral) was suggested, in addition to the existing proposal of a broader trope for women scaring more easily than men. Should this split be done? The names for both tropes would be decided with separate crowners.
- Do the proposed split, and keep the gendered aspect (i.e., women clinging to men).
- Do the proposed split, and make the trope gender-neutral (with the partners' genders not mattering).
Edit: Decided it might be worth having two mutually exclusive crowner options since some were in favor of it being gender-neutral. The trope about women scaring more easily than men, which we already decided to make, would stay the same; we'd just need to decide on a name for it later on.

I'll just go ahead and call the crowner in favor of making the broader trope that was previously mentioned (with the name to be decided later), since the consensus is so overwhelmingly in favor of both options that one more day wouldn't make a difference, and hook a crowner that addresses whether to split, including whether the trope should be gender-neutral.
