Rogue Jinchuriki and associates

    Han

Han

Kokuo's jinchuriki, and a missing-nin from Iwagakure.

  • Adaptation Expansion: His capture, which wasn't shown in the manga, is shown briefly in the story.
  • Back from the Dead: He's temporarily resurrected into one of Naruto's Shadow Clones to aid during the final battle. Shortly after, Obito's sacrifice makes his resurrection permanent.
  • We Hardly Knew Ye: He's killed off in his introductary scene, unlike the other jinchuriki (who either get dedicated arcs or are members of the supporting cast). Subverted when he's brought back alongside the others in the final arc.

    Roshi

Roshi

Son Goku's jinchuriki, and a missing-nin from Iwagakure.
  • Back from the Dead: He's temporarily resurrected into one of Naruto's Shadow Clones to aid during the final battle. Shortly after, Obito's sacrifice makes his resurrection permanent.
  • The Greatest Story Never Told: He wrote many of his adventures in his traveling journals, but never got the chance to publish them. After he's captured and killed by Akatsuki, Naruto decides he'll share his stories with the world in his memory.
  • Magma Man: Has Lava Release.

    Utakata

Ukataka

Saiken's jinchuriki, and a missing-nin from Kirigakure.

  • Back from the Dead: He's temporarily resurrected into one of Naruto's Shadow Clones to aid during the final battle. Shortly after, Obito's sacrifice makes his resurrection permanent.
  • Heroic Sacrifice: Between saving himself, or letting himself be captured by Akatsuki to save Hotaru, he chooses the latter.
  • Moving the Goalposts: He tried to get rid of Hotaru setting her (seemingly) impossible ninja tasks. Eventually he gave up once she managed to complete them, and accepted her as his disciple.

    Hotaru

Hotaru

A kunoichi from the Tsuchigumo clan, and Utakata's disciple.

  • Babies Ever After: She's mentioned to be pregnant with her first child in the epilogue, and though no mention is made of who the father is, it's made obvious by Utakata not wanting to leave her side.
  • The Bus Came Back: She returns in the wake of the Fourth Ninja War, having become a ninja of Kirigakure.
  • Determinator: She managed to complete every single task Utakata gave her, until he accepted her as his disciple.

Historical Characters

    Otsutsuki Clan

Hagoromo Otsutsuki

The Sage of Six Paths, and the creator of the Ninshuu, which would later evolve into Ninjutsu.

Hamura Otsutsuki

Hagoromo's brother, and ancestor of the Hyuga clan.

Asura Otsutsuki

Hagoromo's younger son. Ancestor of the Senju and Uzumaki clans.

Indra Otsutsuki

Hagoromo's eldest son. Ancestor of the Uchiha clan.

  • Cain and Abel: The Cain to Asura's Abel.
  • Famous Ancestor: Averted. The Uchiha Clan as a whole was largely unaware that Indra Otsutsuki was their founder, as most of his records were lost to history.
  • I Work Alone: He never asked or felt the need to ask for anybody's help, since he could manage pretty well on his own.

Kalika Otsutsuki

Hamura's eldest daughter.

Kaguya Otsutsuki.

The mother of Hagoromo and Hamura.

  • Adaptational Heroism: Unlike in canon, where she is mostly a Generic Doomsday Villain (at least until Boruto explains her motivations), here she's shown to be heavily repentant of her actions in life, and is proud of the world her sons helped create, and she even urges Naruto and Hinata to stop Madara.
  • Demoted to Extra: To an extent, as she isn't the ultimate final villain here, partially due to her Adaptational Heroism, and also due to the circumstances of her revival not happening.
  • Humans Are Special: She came to believe this after living on Earth for so long, admiring their creativity and their ability to grow and evolve with each generation.
  • Interspecies Romance: She seduced a human emperor, who sired her two sons.
  • Well-Intentioned Extremist: Her intention was to unite humanity under her command in order to be able to fight the incoming invasion of her species. Sadly, she got Drunk with Power and lost her way in the process.
  • You Can't Go Home Again: By eating the Chakra Tree's fruit raw, she confined herself to live on Earth for the rest of her life, unable to return to her home planet.

    Akashi Sutoku

Akashi Sutoku

The final head of the now extinct Sutoku clan who was revived as part of Orochimaru's Edo Tensei army.

Other Characters

    Genjutsu World Characters

Dark Naruto

The manifestation of Naruto's inner darkness.

Dark Fu

The manifestation of Fu's inner darkness.

  • Evil Costume Switch: She wears similar clothes to Fu, but they're noted to be all black, as opposed to Fu's all white costume.
  • Original Character: Fu didn't have a Road to Ninja counterpart.

Alternate Hinata

An alternate version of Hinata Hyuga. She's very bold and aggressive.

  • Adaptational Wimp: In-Universe, compared to the real Hinata, since this one lacks the Tenseigan.
  • Combat Sadomasochist: She moans with pleasure every time Naruto lands a hit on her during a sparring match, which he finds incredibly creepy.
  • Mood-Swinger: Naruto is scared by how easily can she go from lovingly clingy to downright murderous at the drop of a hat.
  • Yandere: When she acts reluctant to hurt Dark Naruto due to how much he looks like the original, Naruto tells her to just imagine as if he was a version of him who cheated on her with Sakura. Cue murderous rampage.

Alternate Haku

An alternate version of Haku. Unlike the real Haku, he has a huge complex regarding his feminine appearance, and tries very hard to appear manly and masculine.

  • No Shirt, Long Jacket: Well, a short jacket rather than a long one. But as shown in the trope description, he dresses this way to appear more manly.
  • Original Character: Haku didn't have a Road to Ninja counterpart.
  • Testosterone Poisoning: Invoked. He really wants to be see as the epitome of manliness. It's even reflected in the name of his attacks (such as "Iceberg of Manliness" or "Testosterone Blizzard").

Alternate Ino

An alternate version of Ino. She's very shy and has a meek personality.

Alternate Choji

An alternate version of Choji. He likes to watch what he eats and takes his job as a ninja very seriously.

Alternate Shikamaru

An alternate version of Shikamaru. A talentless ninja with iron hard determination.

  • Adaptation Personality Change: In Road to Ninja, he was dimwitted and glutonous. Here, he has average intelligence but is very passionate and has the drive to work really hard.
  • Determinator: As opposed to his lazy real world counterpart. This often puts him at odds with Alternate Lee.

Alternate Shino

An alternate version of Shino. Once he starts talking, he won't shut up.

Alternate Kiba

An alternate version of Kiba. Despite his love of cats and hatred for dogs, he's in a loving relationship with Tamaki.

Alternate Tamaki

An alternate version of Tamaki, who owns Akamaru instead of Kiba. Despite her love of dogs and hatred for cats, she's in a loving relationship with Kiba.

Alternate Sakura

An alternate version of Sakura. She takes her job as a ninja very seriously, and thinks boys and romance are a waste of her time.

  • Adaptation Personality Change: Mostly because her Road to Ninja counterpart (who appeared on a filler episode in the anime that lead to the movie) didn't have that much of a personality to begin with.

Alternate Karin

An alternate version of Karin. A goth with a gloomy personality.

Alternate Sasuke

An alternate version of Sasuke. A ladies man that flirts with anything with an X chromosome.

  • Mythology Gag: Unlike his real world counterpart, but like the canonical Sasuke, this one can use the Chidori.

Alternate Neji

An alternate version of Neji. A huge pervert that uses his Byakugan to peep on girls.

Alternate Rock Lee

An alternate version of Rock Lee. A taijutsu prodigy that's extremely lazy.

  • Adaptation Personality Change: While the one from the movie stole and wore female underwear, and the one from Tenten's Infinite Tsukuyomi dream was obssessed with fashion, this one is a ninja with tons of talent and strength but hardly any motivation.
  • Brilliant, but Lazy: Incredibly strong and skilled, but he often prefers to nap rather than train.

Alternate Tenten

An alternate version of Tenten. A skilled medic-nin that hates fighting.

  • Adaptation Personality Change: The one from the movie was very clumsy and often ended up cutting herself with her own weapons. This one wouldn't even grab a weapon to begin with.
  • Actual Pacifist: She exclusively uses medical ninjutsu because she hates to fight.
  • Irony: The real Tenten tried to be a Combat Medic to emulate her idol, Tsunade, but was forced to drop the idea due her lack of skill with medical ninjutsu. This Tenten, however, is an extremely skilled medic.
  • White Magician Girl: Dressed in white and blue robes, has a very kind and compassionate personality, and uses the setting's equivalent of white magic.
