- Our Angels Are Different: They are human-looking angels with large white feather based wings. Their wings were strong enough to allow them to be capable of flight.
- Pointy Ears: All angels have pointed ears.
- Religious and Mythological Theme Naming: The angels from Sika Madu's ancient kingdom have names taken from the demons of Ars Goetia. The most prominent ones are Bael, Paimon, Amon, Belial, Astaroth, Marbas, Bathin, Naberius, Raum and Orobas.

- Together in Death: He killed himself to follow Paimon in death. Sika Madu then buried their bodies next to each other.

Mikaela
The original incarnation of Yuichiro Hyakuya and the child of Sika Madu, also known as Shikama Dōji.
- Angelic Beauty: Yuu points out how incredibly pretty angel Mika is.
- Artificial Family Member: Mikaela was an artificial lifeform created by Sika Madu to find a cure for a plague endemic to the angels. Sika Madu was supposed to dispose of Mikaela to avoid punishment from God, but he couldn't as he grew to love Mikaela as his real child.
- Artificial Human: Or rather, artificial angel. Unlike other angels that were created by God, Mikaela was artificially created by Sika Madu as part of an experiment.
- Badass Adorable: He's super cute and lovable, but also very powerful due to being the prince of the angels from Earth.
- Beautiful Dreamer: Back in Ancient Greece, Yuu loved to stare at Mikaela's lifeless body inside a casket in Sika Madu's basement, often admiring how pretty Mikaela looked all day long. This might have been Yuu's soul subconsciously longing to be reunited with his original body.
- Cheerful Child: He was a very happy and playful child despite his illness.
- Convenient Terminal Illness: Paimon told Mikaela the truth about his terminal illness and Sika Madu's intention to accept divine punishment to protect him as his very existence is forbidden in Heaven's eyes. Knowing that his illness would kill him anyway, Mikaela choose to end his life by his own hands before his father was punished.
- Cute Little Fangs: He had long vampire-like fangs that somehow made him look even more adorable when he smiled.
- Damsel out of Distress: Because he's so delicate and terminally ill, Mikaela initially appears to be helpless when Paimon comes to kill him, but he proves to be very powerful and more than capable of defending himself.
- Death of Personality: Mikaela erased his own memories when he first reincarnated as a human and none of his following reincarnations as Yuu remembered being Mikaela. After Yuichiro goes through his Past-Life Memories and discovers he's the real Mikaela, he still doesn't identify himself with Mikaela's memories and considers himself a separate person from Mikaela.
- Delicate and Sickly: He was very ill and frail. His father forbade him from going outside because it was bad for his health.
- Dying Declaration of Love: Even though Sika Madu wasn't present to hear it, Mikaela's last words before his suicide were directed to him, saying he loved his father very much.
- Fairytale Motifs: Mikaela is compared to Snow White and Sleeping Beauty, as Ancient Greece's Yuu calls him a princess who was put in a deep slumber and needs to be awakened by a prince's True Love's Kiss. The fact that Mikaela lived in a tower and was forbidden by his parent from leaving is also reminiscent of Rapunzel.
- Hair of Gold, Heart of Gold: Mikaela had blonde hair, and a pure and kind heart.
- Heroic Suicide: Mikaela killed himself by stabbing his own throat because his existence was the result of Sika Madu breaking a taboo and he feared his father would be punished by God if he stayed alive.
- Hesitant Sacrifice: When Mikaela took his own life, he admitted he was scared to die, but he stabbed himself anyway because he thought his death would mean his father wouldn't be punished by God.
- In-Series Nickname: Present Yuu nicknames him "Angel Mika".
- Incurable Cough of Death: During the flashback, Mikaela starts coughing blood after spending a whole day outside, which are the first signs of the severity of his illness.
- Innocent Blue Eyes: Mikaela had bright blue eyes and he was a very innocent child.
- Interspecies Friendship: Mikaela was an angel who was best friends with a homunculus eyeball he named Yu.
- Kill the Cutie: Mikaela is a young and adorable angel, but he tragically killed himself when he learned that his father would be punished by God if he lived.
- Light 'em Up: He was able to create highly destructive light beams.
- Light Is Good: Mikaela is an angel dressed in white and possesses light-based powers. He's also one of the most benevolent and selfless characters in the series.
- Memory Gambit: After he transferred his soul to a human body, Mikaela erased his own memories and the memories of the homunculus Yu so that Sika Madu wouldn't find out that they switched places.
- Mindlink Mates: After he gained a human body and switched identities with the homunculus Yu, Mikaela created a soul link between himself and the homunculus. This allowed them to have telepathic conversations while the homunculus was inside Mikaela's corpse.
- Morality Pet: To Sika Madu. Yuu's Past-Life Memories reveal that Sika Madu was a very loving father to Mikaela, convincing Yuu and Mika that Sika Madu was capable of loving others before he became the twisted villain he is today.
- Nice Guy: He was a very sweet and kindhearted child.
- Not The Illness That Killed Them: Mikaela was already dying from a terminal illness, but after learning his father would be punished if he lived longer, he stabbed himself in the throat to end his own life.
- Otherworldly and Sexually Ambiguous: Yuu mistook Mikaela for a girl until Sika Madu explained that angels don't have genders.
- Plot-Triggering Death: His death is what started the entire plot, with his father creating a master plan that extended for thousands of years, all in order to resurrect him.
- Posthumous Character: He has been dead for millions of years. He's only seen alive in his reincarnation Yuu's sealed memories.
- Senseless Sacrifice: Mikaela killed himself as a sacrifice to protect his father from divine punishment. Unfortunately, Sika Madu couldn't accept his son's death and tried to break the taboo again to resurrect him and the other dead angels, which resulted in him being punished with immortality and vampirism anyway.
- Too Good for This Sinful Earth: Mikaela was a sweet and innocent child who just wanted to be happy with his father, but when he learned his existence is forbidden by Heaven's law and God would punish his father for it, he killed himself to protect his father.
- Walking Spoiler: Knowing the truth of Angel Mikaela gives away a good portion of the biggest revelations of the series, such as Sika Madu's motives and the true natures of Yuu and Mika.
- White Is Pure: The purehearted, innocent and selfless Mikaela is an angel with completely white clothes and beautiful white wings.

- Because You Were Nice to Me: It's more than implied that Yu was attached to Mikaela because the latter was the only one who treated it like a living being and a friend instead of just a tool, even giving it a name.
- Bodyguarding a Badass: Yu had the duty to protect Mikaela, but Mikaela turned out to be more than capable of defending himself from Paimon while Yu was completely helpless against him.
- Casting a Shadow: Yu had the power to turn the light produced by God and the angels into darkness. Sika Madu used the homunculus' darkness to perform the miracles that were taboo for the angels and hide them from God, such as the angel Mikaela's creation and the (failed) mass resurrection of the angels.
- Dark Is Not Evil: Yu is made of darkness itself, yet it was a caring and loyal friend to Mikaela.
- Elemental Embodiment: Yu is an embodiment of darkness that gained sentience thanks to Mikaela.
- Go Through Me: Yu tried to plant itself in front of Mikaela when Paimon tried to kill him, but Paimon easily tossed him aside.
- Grand Theft Me: At Mikaela's own request, Yu entered the angel's dead body and expelled the Sinful Keys from it to hide them from Sika Madu.
- Interspecies Friendship: Yu was a homunculus who was best friends with the angel Mikaela.
- The Maker: Yu was the one who created humans from its own darkness.
- Oculothorax: Yu looks like a floating eyeball.
- Only Friend: To Mikaela. Mikaela was very sheltered and isolated because of his illness and status as an angel who was created without God's permission. Yu was his only constant companion and Mikaela treated it as a friend instead of a tool.
- Our Homunculi Are Different: Yu was a homunculus created by Sika Madu to be the companion of his son, Mikaela. Yu originally didn't have a soul or personality, but receiving a name from Mikaela changed that.
- Reflective Eyes: At one point, we see Mikaela clearly reflected on Yu's eye as the homunculus intensely stares at the angel.
- Sizeshifter: Yu was able to become as small as a real eyeball and grow big enough to cause a solar eclipse.
- Virtuous Character Copy: Of the Homunculus from Fullmetal Alchemist. Just like the other Homunculus, Yu is a sphere of darkness with an eyeball. Whereas the other Homunculus was a cunning and greedy manipulator who was willing to sacrifice countless lives to gain power, Yu is a more clearly benevolent being who only wanted to help its friend Mikaela.
