Locked Pages: Lock, UnLock and Edit requests

Go To

This thread is for requesting edits or unlocks to Locked Pages or for requesting locks. It can also be used for technical requests to moderators such as:

  • creating new pages in the Main/ and other restricted namespaces without going through Trope Launch Pad
  • moving discussion pages
  • moving reviews

Please keep the following guidelines in mind:

  1. Check Locked Pages and Permanent Red Link Club first. They can provide guidance on what are good and bad requests.
  2. Include working links in your request to the page(s) in question.
  3. If asking for edits, state your changes exactly as they should appear on the page, including proper Example Indentation, namespacing, and pothole and quote formatting. And make sure that what you want to add is actually a valid example.
  4. We do not edit archived articles, even to correct links.
  5. If you need to have the capitalization of a page title or namespace of a work fixed, ask here.
  6. If you need to remove a ghost wick, go here.
  7. To request a page to be moved along with its history, go here.
  8. Some locked pages have ongoing cleanup threads, like Complete Monster (Thread), Five-Man Band (Thread), and Magnificent Bastard (Thread). Other than purely technical requests, edits to these pages ought to be discussed in these threads first.
  9. Also, we do not do direct edits (other than changing wicks) to Magnificent Bastard or Complete Monster example lists. Rather, you need to do the edit to a sandbox page that follows the format Sandbox.Magnificent Bastard<Name of the example subpage> and Sandbox.Monster<Name of the example subpage> (e.g for Monster.Disney it's Sandbox.Monster Disney) and ask for it to be swapped in on Saturday for Magnificent Bastard and on Monday for Complete Monster.
  10. Inappropriate pages that keep being recreated, pages banned under The Content Policy and subpages that are disallowed (like Headscratchers pages for tropes) are valid reasons for requesting page locks.

NOTE: Edited with OP's permission.

Doing a round on the Page Type per Namespace, I've noted a few articles with the wrong page type. Please change the page types for the following to the ones indicated:

Finally, UsefulNotes.Rolling Stone 500 Greatest Albums Of All Time needs to do indexing.

On Ãœbermensch, please replace "Anime/ChirinNoSuzu" with "Anime/RingingBell". Also, the whole entry can be moved down to a "Films — Animation" folder (renaming the current "Film" to "Films — Live-Action" in the process), since it's an anime film and not a series.

On Monster.Creepypasta, for the 1999 entry under "Original Creepypasta," please remove the part in which Mr. bear presumably murders Elliot, because the story had been updated. It should go as follows:

On Zerg Rush, please move the current page quote to the quote page, and insert this quote instead:

DTH, save for Zerg Rush (a longer pagequote is a significant drawback; it should be discussed in the quotes thread) and the Brainiac example (where should it be attached?).

The suggested quote for Zerg Rush would actually fit well on the Tabletop Games subpage...dunno if subpages normally get quotes or not but it's a thought.

Hey. I was thinking about editing my DMOS for Death Battle. Not deleting it or those below me, but just getting into more detail over what it was that upset me about it, because looking over it again, now I see all too clearly what others have accused me of in the past; being very vague. I've had time to think about it, and I'm wondering if it would be at all possible to edit? I should get into more detail about why it upset me. I promise to remain civil. So, can I?

Worklist:

  • nombretomado's and ACW's edit requests are done.
  • I've unlocked the JesuOtaku pages as the issue is hopefully resolved.
  • Regarding the DMOS edit request, I'll disagree with Fighteer and ask which edit is requested.

Zerg Rush would be a topic for the quotes thread.

Thanks. For the Rurouni Kenshin ones, I know it was a small thing, but the Live-Action film had more than one example, and we have the subpage, might as well use it.

Please replace the Repli-Carter image at Complete Monster with this bigger one. Please also remove the Max Cady one (unless you can get it to work).

On DethroningMoment.Death Battle, please replace Why Not Now entry by the following (mostly namespacing issue, but numerous enough that it's simpler that way):

  • Why Not Now: Goku VS. Superman: Holy shit, this video is just awful. Not only does it use serious Hand-Waving and Loophole Abuse to tweak the stats of both combatants to influence the outcome, not only do they go back and forth between anime and manga to calculate Goku's feats, not only does it treat it as if Goku is totally outclassed in every conceivable way against Superman and will absolutely never, ever stand a chance against every version of the Man of Steel no matter how strong he gets in any Super Mode he has, but it is just a plain bad video, not helped by Goku's TFS voice actor and the impishly childish demeanor he gives to Goku. First Goku goes up to Superman intending to kill him because he's afraid he's going to destroy the Earth, which is so out-of-character that it's just plain shocking and insulting to any Dragon Ball Z fans watching, bordering on Character Derailment, but then they end it with Superman actually killing everyone on the Earth just to stop Goku, proving that Goku was right after all. *Facepalm* If they were looking to make a Death Battle where Superman won, then they completely, utterly, epically failed on all levels. The simplest option would have been to just grab the strongest form of Goku and Superman from each side, which would be Super Saiyan God Goku, who is strong enough to compete with a casual galaxy buster, and Pre-Crisis Silver Age Superman, who has been shown to have the power to withstand big bang explosions, and then have them duke it out, with the entire universe being destroyed in the process. Or hell, just keep building up Goku versus Superman Death Battles at the end of every season, starting by grabbing the weaker forms of Goku and Superman from both sides so that way, both fans get to see their heroes win sometimes. Instead, we have Post-Crisis Superman, who has been shown to only be capable of withstanding fifteen supernova and putting him on the same level as a Super Saiyan 2, fighting... Super Saiyan 4 Goku. A blatant case of Fanon Discontinuity because GT isn't even viewed by many fans as an established part of the Dragon Ball storyline, and then to have him crushed so swiftly by one of the less powerful incarnations of Superman... it's a plain all-around Epic Fail, and not only that, it is plain disrespectful to the Dragon Ball Z franchise, with a clear case of fan bias considering that Superman is American and, you know, this is being written by Americans, and we can't ever have an American hero beaten by another hero from overseas. It was so bad for this troper that I can't watch anything new they created past that, and it almost killed Superman for me. Even if they made another Death Battle where Goku wins, it wouldn't erase the massive stain they have on their reputation now. Death Battle is dead to me.
