1st Phase: Origins

    In General 
  • Meaningful Rename: They used to be called Phase Connect (generation) of Phase Connect (the company), but were renamed to Origins to signify their efforts to get the corpo off the ground and give it some name recognition in the small-corpo vtuber scene
  • Suspicion Aesop: All the Origins members were suspicious about Phase Connect's reddit recruitment ad, their website with stock photos, and their interviews but it turned out their suspicions were wrong and Phase Connect was and is legit after all.
  • Vitriolic Best Buds: Pick any pair of Origins members and it's highly likely they swap between this (especially during Phase Connect only collabs) and Those Two Guys (normally during collabs with non-Phase Connect streamers).

  • Beware the Nice Ones: For as gentle as she appears on stream, she's not in Phase Connect for nothing. According to Lia, Nasa once directly told Uruka that she wanted to flay the latter.
  • Cute Monster Girl: She looks like a cute girl with horns, big claws, and a dragon tail.
  • The Fake Cutie: A curious case in that while Nasa is actually every bit as willing to talk about delicate topics as the rest of Phase Connect, due to her sweet voice and demeanor, and her Western fans' lack of proficiency in Japanese, many fans tend to write this off and treat her as The Cutie instead.
  • Horned Humanoid: She has small horns coming out of her forehead.
  • Our Dragons Are Different: She's a dragon girl, one with a humanoid form, that is stated to be pretty young by dragon standards... that standard being two hundred million.

Pippa is a kind streamer who holds high passion for the art of VTubing. She streamed and published many videos talking about various subjects concerning about the community, or in order to give advices to anyone wanting to evolve as a VTuber. She loves VTuber culture, but still, she is defined her honesty and sincerity, and thus also not afraid to point out its flaws and deficiencies.
  • Always a Bigger Fish: Anytime Kirsche appears on stream.
  • Animal Lover: She slept with a chicken as a child and has a pet bird, rabbits, and a dog. She also hates people who torture animals.
  • The Anti-Nihilist: Her tangents and zatsudans can get very philosophical, and talked about pessimistic topics such as suicide and her struggles with psychological problems. But in her self-improvement video, to summarise it, she asserts that we have free will, we have a soul, and no matter how doomed we are, it is us who choose to create our own meaning and purpose in life, and be masters of our own fate.
  • Badass Creed: She and her Capippalist fans adopted this phrase as their motto: "I am Cringe, but I am Free." It's badass in a way that most people would find them to be divisive and controversial, but they simply do not give a fuck.
  • Brutal Honesty: She loves VTuber culture and is highly passionate in everything about it, but that same passion also means she is not afraid to point out its flaws. For example, in her interview with a failed VTuber company CEO named Miao, she straight up said that because he lacked the familiarity with the culture, he should never go back into VTubing ever again.
  • Big Brother Attraction: During her playthrough of The Coffin of Andy and Leyley, Pippa admitted that she has a big brother fetish, despite not actually having a brother (a trait she has in common with other Phase Connect members Rinkou Ashelia and Himemiya Rie). Pippa would go on to elaborate, claiming she maybe didn't want to date a potential older brother, but merely wants to prevent her brother from reproducing with other women.
  • Character Catchphrase: She opens her streams with some variant of a very energetic and squeaky "pi-pipipipipiii!" as a reference to her own name.
    • As of 2024, she ends her streams by vamping the phrase, "Tilde, fluffles away!"
  • Character Development: The theme of her original song, Pippa the Ripper. She used to be someone who dreamed to become somebody awesome in this world, but fate sucked and she was forced to give up to became a recluse. She was someone who was Desperately Looking for a Purpose in Life. And yet she was saved when VTubing and Phase Connect allowed her a space where she can belong and express herself and her own talents. Through it, she over time developed into a more based, assertive, confident and friendly personality. Now, she is a Mega Idol using her talents and experience to help and save others.
  • Conspiracy Theorist: Is paranoid and talks about things like how the FBI is hunting her down and how reptilians control the government.
  • Country Mouse: She hated city-dwellers for being snobs, and has a preference for the rural and the rustic.
  • Cute, but Cacophonic: She often ends up being very loud and shrieking like crazy when in an excited emotional state like getting pissed off or encountering something hilarious.
  • Cute Oversized Sleeves: She's a cute pink-haired girl with a bunny theme. She looks even cuter because the sleeves of her jacket go past her hands.
  • Drives Like Crazy: She drives with absolutely no self-restraint when playing as one of the protagonists of Grand Theft Auto V.
  • Entertainingly Wrong: During her playthrough of "Are You Smarter Than a 5th Grader?", the fact that she didn't remember that America's Route 66 starts in Illinois stands out most because she dismissed the very idea just before being proven wrong. She even recalled being taught Chuck Berry's song for it in class and still forgot that the first lyrics are "from Chicago to LA".
  • Everyone Has Standards: Despite her often obscene and transgressive content, she refused to repeat Lamar's N word bomb, pointing out she was unsure whether her given pass was enough, she was not Elite enough and she still worked for a company that had to maintain its reputation.
  • Fake–Real Turn: Initially Pippa was just playing around with NovelAI to design a roleplay vtuber company called FlaVR, using it to make fake vtuber models based on chat's suggestions. It ended up spiraling out of control as people made an actual company with their own domain, their own vtubers, their own Twitter accounts, their own advertisements, their own drama (complete with official company statements), and even their own debut stream.
  • Fangirl: Her oshi is Tsunomaki Watame, and is a fan of Asmongold and Mister Metokur.
  • Fantastic Drug: "Pipkin," which is also at the same time a moldy contagion and a mental illness. Highly dangerous and can induce paranoia, delirium and schizophrenia to those in contact with it.
  • The Gadfly: Any collab with her will basically consist of Pippa relentlessly pushing her partners' buttons to get a rise out of them.
  • Hidden Heart of Gold: She is well known for savagely roasting her peers, her seniors, her company, her president, her own fanbase and anything else she feels like, but behind the scenes she's a very kind soul who also genuinely wants to help them and express support for them.
  • Messianic Archetype: Parodied. Her orisong portrays her as a saviour figure, and in fact the original lyrics called her "the Messiah." Thus it became a recurring joke especially with how she saved and inspired others not only with her existential musings but also by promising to die first before anyone else does (see Suicide Pact below). And whenever it is brought up, she keeps denying it à la Monty Python's Life of Brian.
  • Motor Mouth: At a normal pace, it's impossible for her to stop talking. When she rants, however, expect her to get even faster and also add in some very ambitious insults.
  • Nervous Wreck: During the 2 weeks when Pippa was waiting for a new computer part and couldn't stream. And is nervous in general and has a resting heart rate in the 100s to 130s.
  • No Social Skills: Despite her chaotic and brash content, Pippa herself repeatedly admitted to being rather terrible when it came to interpersonal relationships.
  • Odd Friendship: With Chikafuji Lisa, formerly of Tsunderia. In this case, Pippa serves as The Corrupter to Lisa's Straight Man.
  • Old Shame: Playing or singing "Pippa The Rippa" in front of her is an easy way to get on her bad side.
  • Perverse Sexual Lust: On part 2 of her anniversary she told a story wherein she had a dream where she was in a couple with Jetstream Sam. It became a recurring joke to ship her with Sam.
  • Properly Paranoid: How she sees herself. She owns several mounted security cameras and a dog. She criticized a house for having a terrace overlooking a hill covered with foliage that thieves could hide and easily climb into just by walking up. She wants a fortress-like compound as an ideal home.
  • Refuge in Audacity: She's Sakana's biggest headache with her constant yabs, talking about darker parts of the internet and showing them to the rest of Phase (or whomever she collabs with), and pushing the limits not only of management but what's acceptable in conventional VTubing. Yet she gets away with it and became Phase Connect's most popular member for it. Compare Kiryu Coco from hololive, someone who also became famous for constantly pushing the boundaries.
  • Repetitive Name: Pipkin Pippa. Said repetition is what she uses to introduce herself every stream.
  • Righteous Rabbit: She's characterized as a bunny (close enough to a rabbit) and, despite her dissenting and honest views on things, is ultimately a morally good person who despises people who pull tricks on others. A clear example is when she called out BetterHelp for being a sham as it asks their clients to pay for their service.
  • The Scrooge: Despite being the Phase member with the most superchats, memberships, sponsorships, live viewers, subscribers, and merch sales, she did not forget her past of being a miserly person with a poor background and who hates spending money on unnecessary things. For example, when her PC broke down she even refused to just buy a new one because she wanted to calculate every expense.
  • "Shaggy Dog" Story: The first time she plays a Five Nights at Freddy's co-op fan game with her chat (where the players are the nightguards) for her 2024 birthday, the power generator blows up on the first night and Freddy is set free, doing his usual "power out patrolling" sequence. Everyone else dies except her during the dark sequence. Pippa ends up dying too... at 5 A.M.
  • Tempting Fate: Previously, in her early career, she promised her then-small audience that she'd show them her feet pics if she reached 100,000 subscribers before 2023. Back then, Phase Connect was still just a small up and coming company, and she never thought she would ever become that successful. Cue her explosive growth in the latter half of 2022, wherein she became one of the fastest growing vtubers, having surpassed 100k before Christmas. Of course this was much to her chagrin, and even made a stream wherein she declared that she did not want to reach 100k ever. It still attracted more viewers to subscribe to her.
  • Self-Deprecation: Often denigrates and describes herself as "Walmart Pekora," and has an impostor syndrome so bad she hid her original song under a shitpost.
  • Signature Laugh: Very recognizable, it sounds like a rusty door hinge.
  • Sir Swears-a-Lot: She has a pretty dirty potty mouth on her, and tends to drop F-Bombs every now and then.
  • Speech Impediment: It's not noticeable, but she has a lithp and hates it when anyone points it out.
  • Suicide Pact: Made the Capippalists promise that they won't off themselves unless she dies first. This contributed to the meme of her as a Dark Messiah.
  • Sweet Tooth: If her eating habbits are of anything to go by, she really loves sweets, snacks and sugary drinks.
  • Tomboy with a Girly Streak: She likes guns, alcohol, video games like MMOs and other guy things, but is also big into Build-A-Bear and other girly things.
  • Took a Level in Cynic: Apparently one of the reasons she turned from an idealist into a jaded yab machine was that she used to always get good grades but an art teacher failed her over a misunderstanding over the aesthetics. Cue references to having "one bad day" and inevitable comparisons to another famous person who became insane from failing art school. She got better eventually.
  • Troll: Enjoys messing with people, especially with how she and her fanbase were from that website. It's also mutual, as her fans also enjoy messing with her in turn.
  • Weaksauce Weakness: While Pippa has a well-earned reputation as The Gadfly and an unassailable Troll, she is deathly embarrassed of her original song "Pippa The Ripper", to the point she made it members-only content on her YouTube account. The internet being what it is, the song is easy to find, and as Airi gloriously demonstrated, playing it is guaranteed to shut Pippa down into a screaming, raving mess.
  • Vague Age: She lists her age as "3", and while that typically may imply that she's three years old, she also clarified that didn't mean three years, or even three months or days, her age is just three.

    Tenma Maemi

  • The Alcoholic: Tenma pens herself as "the alcohol-loving fox". Despite that, she is never seen with it in her streams.
  • Berserk Button: It is much easier to count on what doesn't trigger Ternma.
  • Beware the Nice Ones: Tenma's usual demeanor is to be very affable to those she considers her friends and quite the light jokester, but she has her iconic Hair-Trigger Temper and is also willing to hold grudges.
  • Blind Without 'Em: Tenma wears glasses (and her model has an option for them) and she's revealed that she can barely read chat if she's not wearing them.
  • Cute, but Cacophonic: She has a very neutral voice when speaking normally (or outright cute when she's either tired or a little flustered and making random noises); however, when shrieking, either in anger or fear, her voice can get quite high.
  • Deadpan Snarker: Just try to be a smartass or ask a stupid question in chat. English being her second language doesn't slow her down in the slightest when she's roasting you to a crisp.
  • Fun Size: At 130 cm or 4'3", Tenma is the shortest of the Phase Connect members.
  • Hair-Trigger Temper: Tenma has a list of Berserk Buttons a mile long and is prone to bursting into expletive-laden rants at the slightest provocation.
  • Has a Type: She loves macho men.
  • Learnt English from Watching Television: She learned English by watching Die Hard every single day for three months.
  • Large Ham: Most of the time, particularly in solo gaming streams, Tenma is quite calm, but when she has competitively inclined interactions with the Kanpainikis or is collaborating with another Phase-Connect VTuber, she will make loud declarations with no provocation. It is a thing to behold.

  • Little Bit Beastly: She's a little girl with fox ears and a fluffy tail.
  • Office Lady: Her primary gimmick.
  • Self-Deprecation: The entire opening of her "Judgment Day" stream following her Idol Experiment series is basically Tenma insulting herself for lacking experience, through herself... role-playing as two individual people in a faux business meeting. Then she also inverts that and jokingly calls her male-majority viewers clowns while keeping the additional joke up by inserting herself into a circus setting.
  • Sir Swears-a-Lot: Like Pippa, she's prone to dropping swears and F-bombs, though unlike Pippa, it's in a heavy Japanese accent.
  • Stunned Silence: If she isn't shrieking at explicit sexual content in games, she's in a wide-eyed, silent state in other scenarios. NEEDY STREAMER OVERLOAD in particular had her react in this manner to several of the events of the game.
  • Take That!: Said that the western idol industry is a joke.
  • Troll: And literally no-one is safe from her antics, whether it's her fellow talents, her own boss, or her chat.
    • To prepare for the PT stream with Pippa and supposedly to settle her nerves, she cosplayed as Colress from Pokemon, much to Pippa's horror and outrage.
    • When a chatter says their relative (usually mom) might be in the room, most streamers will usually make a sexually charged moan and otherwise laugh it off. Not Tenma, who on one occasion instead played (and sang along to) a viral song, amongst other things.
    • On April 1st 2024, the stream title included the word 'petcam', which everyone initially thought meant Theo (Tenma's cat), before realising what the date was. It turned out it WAS a petcam, except it was Seaman left on idle after playing the intro.
  • Verbal Tic: Has a habit of referring to authority figures in games as "Captain."
  • What the Hell Is That Accent?: Most viewers, especially those who mainly watch clips, really struggle to place Tenma's accent when she's speaking in English (her accent when speaking Japanese is clearly native, however), because it is very different from a typical Japanese ESL's (jokes about being Canadian notwithstanding). Given her occasional choice of words and Cute, but Cacophonic way of speaking, some think it's Hispanic (often likening her to a Latina auntie), but collabs with Koefficient have shown this not to be the case. Instead, she's shared a couple times that there is a eastern European influence to how she was brought up, though quite what, exactly, she is yet to divulge.

  • Covert Pervert: She has deceived casual viewers into thinking she is innocent, but long-time fans know better.
  • Cute Clumsy Girl: Hurts herself at least once a week out of clumsiness.
  • Fangirl: Like her boss, she's a fan of Houshou Marine.
  • Fanservice Pack: Uruka's Lunar New Year 2024 outfit shows a lot of skin, to which her fans and her coworkers have sounded their approval.
  • Girl Next Door: Tenma describes her as feeling like your childhood friend.
  • Lovable Coward: Early Phasmophobia streams had her running in and out of the house within seconds of each other to the point where other talents had to join the stream to bully her in. Also considers Portal to be a horror game, based on atmosphere alone.
  • Mistaken for Gay: Uruka insists she's straight, but her preferred style of dress (flannel shirts, baggy pants and Doc Martens boots, which Lia teasingly referred to as "Lezmaxxing") has led her to being mistaken for a Butch Lesbian. She even did an entire stream where she tried to dissuade these allegations.
  • One-Man Band: She plays a variety of instruments, including violin, guitar, piano, and saxophone. More often than not, her karaoke streams also feature her playing an instrument in addition to singing.
  • Verbal Tic: Has a partial lisp from wearing braces and makes "turtle sounds" when she clears her throat. The sounds are quiet but her fans hear them and make fun of her for them anyways.

Phase Invaders

    In General 
  • Saved to Enslave: Played for Laughs. Sakana jokes about saving Lumi and Yuri but he also compels them to build things for him in the company Minecraft server as part of their company duties just like everyone else.
  • Sixth Ranger: Invaders are also called Gen 1.5 or a half-gen and are closer to Gen 1 members.
  • Transplant: Invader talents leave their old corpos or streaming groups to join Phase Connect as a permanent crossover while keeping their previous vtuber assets and identities. [1]

  • Open Secret: In complete defiance of VTuber tradition, she openly acknowledges and references her former identity as Kallin Yazaki, as she made the change prior to joining Phase-Connect and in fact her last stream prior to joining Phase asked "What if Kallin and Ember were the same person?" Furthermore, the entire Kallin Yazaki archive is available on a channel called "Ember Amane Archive"., whereas Dizzy has completely wiped her previous identity's channel, while Jelly has removed from her non-PC identity's channel all its livestream archives, leaving behind all the covers and original compositions that she has produced.
  • Women Drivers: Zig-zagged with her American Truck Simulator stream. Ember's actually pretty good about staying within the lanes, maintaining a reasonable speed and following traffic lights, but then she struggled for nearly half an hour trying to back up her truck's trailer into a lumber yard. She's also posted a photo of her real-life fender-bender.
  • Work Off the Debt: As mentioned earlier, Ember has the power to command flames. However, in the chaos, she lost her apartment (actually, she burned down the whole building) and set the Phase World on fire. She became a VTuber to pay it off.
