openAnime title question Anime
I was going to make a page for the anime film Okko's Inn. While looking it up, I discovered it was based on a series of novels titled "Waka Okami wa Shōgakusei," and an anime series of the same name was created for the Spring 2018 Anime season. What title should it go under and how should it be described?

I had deleted some "meta" moments from Awesome.Pokemon Detective Pikachu under the impression they weren't allowed/were overly gushy, but they were reinstated with another troper citing their prevalence on MCU pages. I don't want to edit war, so what should be done about them?
- When the trailer was released, it completely overshadowed the teaser trailer for Toy Story 4, which was released a few hours earlier and had gotten plenty of attention in itself. It's also beaten the Godzilla: King of the Monsters (2019) trailer and that came out in July 21st, almost 4 months ago when the Detective Pikachu trailer was released. It also got over 1 million likes and is the only non-superhero Hollywood film to do so until the trailer for The Lion King 2019 came out. The other films to do over 1 million likes before the film's trailer are Avengers: Infinity War, Venom, and Captain Marvel. After the trailers got released, the only other movies that achieved 1 million likes was The Lion King, Spider-Man: Far From Home, both trailers for Avengers: Endgame and Joker. To say this movie got a lot of attention compared to most films of 2019 would be an understatement.
- Jordan Vogt-Roberts concluded that the film has similar amounts of charisma and quality to Iron Man.
- While critical consensus doesn't mirror the idea of putting Detective Pikachu on par with the film that started the most successful movie franchise in history, this movie still gets to claim the title of first wide-release video game film adaptation to avert the video game movie curse. That's nothing to sneeze at.
- It made number two in its first week at the box office right behind Endgame. Granted many figured it wasn't going to knock Endgame off its throne, but coming that damn close. Yeah, nothing to sneeze at indeed and a testament to the staying power of this series.
- While worldwide it may have come in second to Endgame, in China it came in at number one.
- Props to the visual effects team and director in that Mr. Mime's inclusion is this. Rob Letterman revealed in an interview they almost didn't get to have Mr. Mime in the film because of its creep-factor notoriety and Uncanny Valley design. He hired an actual mime to rehearse the scene with, and also had to pitch the interrogation scene in person to the president of The Pokémon Company and he gave them the go-ahead, and then they still had to come up with a realistic design. Many people he talked to still weren't sure it could be pulled off, then when they filmed the scene, he described it as "the most awkward, weird thing to shoot", and he considered cutting it since he didn't think it would work. Given the fan reception of the end product, it's a cinematic marvel that they succeeded.
- In order to sell that she was actually carrying Psyduck around, Kathryn Newton had to do the chase scenes with 40 lbs of weight strapped to her back.
- Pokémon Detective Pikachu has a 65% Fresh rating on Rotten Tomatoes as of May 17, 2019, making it the first live-action film adaptation of a video game to hold a "Fresh" rating. And while critical reception has been lukewarm, most chalk it up to the film being so awash in Pokémon lore that it's difficult to non-fans to fully appreciate the story and humor. In that regard, fan reception for the movie has been very, very high. After all these years, Video Game Movies Suck is finally averted.

openMan behind the monsters
Why is The Man Behind the Monsters listed on the related trope page for Evil Is Sexy ?
That one seems odd compared to the others.
Edited by miraculousopenPosting Links To Own Work Web Original
Is it considered bad form/improper to post links to your own work on your Troper page, even if said work is publicly accessible?
open Toy Story 4 locked Western Animation
So today, Toy Story 4 came out in theaters. It's supposed to be a heavy traffic page, but, unfortunately, it's still locked. I tried looking on the Administrative Page to see the reason why, but it wasn't listed. So why is it still locked (other than for something stupid like "to prevent spoilers") and when will it be unlocked, along with all of its corresponding subpages?
openWhich was the true Trope Namer?
For at least two tropes, I have noticed that two Simpsons tropes have been shared/attributed to another show/work. The "Fun" in "Funeral" has been attributed to both that and Night Court and The Dog Was the Mastermind was similarly attributed to both the animated series and Silent Hill 2.
open The presumed beginning of an EditWar
Hello, it appears that a troper named High Crate has concealed a significant amount of tropes in the Revival page of Star Wars: The Clone Wars under the pretense of them being examples of speculative troping, even though they were based on what was presented in the season’s trailers as well as the Celebration Chicago festival. I would like to make the tropes unhidden, but I am afraid of starting an Edit War. How should this problem be resolved?

Edited by Thetropemaster101openDelete this Entry?
Found this entry in "Orphaned Series":
"Several reviews of the Harry Potter fanfic "Our Obligations" assume that the story is an Orphaned Series. This is precisely what the writer wants you to think. He specifically wrote the last chapter as a No Ending just to give people this impression."
I feel like this entry should be deleted (not helped by the fact I do not remember ever finding this info except here, making me think that the author wrote this info).
Also, since there is already a page for Dead Fic (which I think needs fixing as well), is the Fanfic folder for Orphaned Series rather redundant?
open Trying to avoid an edit war
On Best Known for the Fanservice, the page quote has a pothole. Back in January, I removed the pothole, but it has since returned.
I'd like to remove it again, as I doubt The Agony Booth included the pothole in their original quote.
I'm aware that doing so would be an edit war, so I'll wait here for moderator permission or consensus from the Troper Hive Mind to proceed.
Edit: According to What to Put at the Top of a Page, potholes to a work referenced by a quote are acceptable, so I'm good to leave the page quote as-is.
Edited by bitemytailopenRooster Teeth
Hello. I have a question about editing the pages about Rooster Teeth and its divisions. On the main pages, character pages and YMMV pages, I've discovered that some of the hosts, including Michael and Lindsay Jones, are listed under tropes such as Berserk Button when they're actually real life people. For example, in the YMMV.Screw Attack page, Destin is listed under Replacement Scrappy, a NRLEP trope.
I've also discovered that there are trivia pages for the RT divisions. As we all know, creators don't get trivia pages.
I'm a little concerned about removing NRLEP tropes from the pages per the Creator Page Guidelines, since we only trope what's happened in works. What shall I do?
Edited by gjjonesopenRedirects of the Commonwealth
I was just wondering if we could have some Commonwealth-spelling redirects for Gold-Colored Superiority (Gold Coloured Superiority) and Artistic License – Geology (Artistic Licence Geology)?
Thank you very much.

resolved Plot Holes
On both PlotHole.Total Drama and PlotHole.Total Drama Presents The Ridonculous Race, it says "Disclaimer: Some of the examples listed fall more under the category of Series Continuity Error instead of a plot hole. But for the sake of argument, said examples will be allowed to stay on this page. " Is this allowed, or should such examples be removed?
openAbout No Yay
Is No Yay less subjective than Ho Yay and Foe Yay? Ho Yay and Foe Yay are for unintentional cases, while the description for No Yay seems to be for intentional stuff. I always see No Yay used for intentional subtext as well. Is it YMMV because what's squicky varies from person to person?
openCan FanonDiscontinuity have a Downplayed example
I mean, Acknowledge the existence of the work. However, it has some problems to be accepted as part of the work, such as being Word Sequel and suffering from Sequelitis or being a Contested Sequel despite the fact Wordof God confirmed that is actually the sequel of the work but they decided that the title would be a Word Sequel case. (Sorry, for my grammar, I am not English)
