Have a question about how the TVTropes wiki works? No one knows this community better than the people in it, so ask away! Ask the Tropers is the page you come to when you have a question burning in your brain and the support pages didn't help.
It's not for everything, though. For a list of all the resources for your questions, click here. You can also go to this Directory thread
for ongoing cleanup projects.
No Yay is not limited to intentional stuff, that's why it's YMMV. The criteria are "there is an implication that sexual tension exists between several characters" and "the sexual tension in question is creepy as it's rapey/paedophilic/abusive/incestuous/otherwise inappropriate".
"For a successful technology, reality must take precedence over public relations, for Nature cannot be fooled." - Richard FeynmanBut why would it include canonical subtext? That's what differs Ho Yay from Homoerotic Subtext or Incest Yay Shipping from Incest Subtext.
Is No Yay less subjective than Ho Yay and Foe Yay? Ho Yay and Foe Yay are for unintentional cases, while the description for No Yay seems to be for intentional stuff. I always see No Yay used for intentional subtext as well. Is it YMMV because what's squicky varies from person to person?
