  • Bleach:
    • Halloween Shake Down is a short Ichigo/Rukia drabble, where Rukia shows up at a Halloween party dressed as a dancer and performs for the attendants, much to Ichigo's displeasure. Rukia later admits that Isshin had convinced her to dress as such in order to get a reaction out of Ichigo.
    • Mystery in the Night is a Rukia/Byakuya short story, where Rukia attempts to use belly dancing as a way to exercise and train her body for using her Zanpakuto. Byakuya, on the other hand, sees Rukia's dancing as a great distraction as rather inappropriate and tries to keep watch over Rukia's intimate secret.
  • Code Geass:
    • Lelouch of the Belly Dancing takes place right before Turn 9.34, that being the 4th Picture Drama made for the series' second season (see Code Geass entry on main page). It offers a humorous look as to how C.C., Kallen and Lelouch prepared for their mission in the Chinese Federation.
  • Digimon:
    • The Charming Cat Princess takes place during Digimon Fusion, where a fan of Xros Heart lies to Bastemon/Persiamon about the status of Xros Heart. As a form of punishment, Bastemon decides to "thank" the fan and his Digimon by performing a hypnotizing dance with Helter Skelter, eventually turning both into new Digimon eggs that would grow to be faithful followers for Bastemon.
  • Dragon Ball:
    • Yamcha's Luck occurs during the Fortune Teller Baba Saga in the original series, where Yamcha gets "repaid" for saving the disguised hunter Hasky with a performance and a chance to get busy.
  • Fairy Tail:
    • Golden Rubies features a chapter where Lucy dresses up as one to show off her body to Erza, possibly to reward for her accidental purchase.
    • In the AU The Odalisque, Levy is a dancer/singer who gets sold off to the harem of the House of Fairy Tail, where she attempts to get used to a new life with her sister Wendy while serving under her mistresses Erza, Lucy, Mirajane and Cana as well as her master Gajeel. While there, she tries to deal with a possible love square between herself and Jet, Droy and Gajeel.
  • Fullmetal Alchemist:
  • High School D×D:
    • Dragon's Lemon Chronicles details the mature relationships that Issei pursues with his harem. When Akeno finally has a turn to be with Issei, she decides to wait after school to perform a private dance for him, setting the stage for a lust-filled session together.
  • Magi: Labyrinth of Magic:
    • To Love Another takes place during the Sindria arc, where Morgiana performs at the festival and decides to capture the attention of Alibaba and draw him in for an awkward yet touching night of passion and love.
  • The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya:
    • The Harem Highjinks of Haruhi Suzumiya involves the three girls of the SOS Brigade as they sign up for a belly dancing contest in an isolated desert country and end up being kidnapped and forced into the harem of the country's royal prince.
    • Also Make a Wish which features the cast in an 'Arabian Nights' setting, features such dancers in the second chapter when they visit a brothel/nightclub. Most prominently with the main attraction: the Amber Rose, aka Mikuru Asahina.
  • Naruto:
    • Dancing Winds: During the 4th Shinobi War, Madara manages to capture Temari and forces her to be his underground captive. While all the action and fighting above her rages on, Temari is forced to be Madara's lady servant, doing all sorts of tasks from brewing tea and cooking food to performing a traditional fan dance and belly dance.
    • Kunoichi Marmalade takes place in a bar where everyone goes to for boredom and someone ends up performing a musical number to entertain the crowd. In chapter 3, Naruto and Sakura take part in a duet singing Shakira's "Hips Don't Lie", where Sakura wears a belly dancer outfit and dances to the song.
  • One Piece:
    • Let's Play Doctor tells the story of a dancer from North Blue trapped in the submarine of Trafalgar Law, who takes it upon himself to look after the young dancer after a run-in with slave traders, but as it turns out, the dancer seems to suffer a reoccurring nightmare involving doctors, whom Law is nothing less than.
  • Pokémon: The Series:
    • In Victory in Haruba Village, Ash, Misty, and Brock are wandering through Haruba Village when they are stopped by Team Rocket, disguised as local citizens. The disguised Team Rocket put on a show of local music and dancing in order to hypnotize and make Ash and his friends drop enough of their guard to get their Pokemon.
    • In Wish Upon a May!, Drew comes across a Genie of the Rose in his home, who appears in the form of May, dressed in her Wallace Cup outfit. Whenever Drew asks for either a proper wish or for May to use her magic, May casts her magic by dancing to Arabian music that plays during her magic rituals, similar to another genie who uses dancing to cast magic.

  • Aladdin:
  • Zootopia:
    • Ara-Bunny Nights is a short little Nick/Judy drabble, with Judy having a little fun with Nick while spending time in a hotel in Sahara Square; when night comes, Judy shows off what she has learned with a certain dance instructor to Nick.

    Literature 
  • Discworld:
    • In the Discworld of A.A. Pessimal, graduate Assassin, the Sultana and Begum Miriam bint-al-Alhazred, dresses this way for convenience. In the story Gap Year Adventures, her house-guests note that for a widow, it counts as black clothing. There just isn't much of it. Elsewhere in Klatch, a spectacular and unforgettable belly dance is delivered by a lady, mentioned only in text, called Fat Ima.
  • Harry Potter:
    • Night of the Awalim focuses on Hermione as she somehow tries to balance a doctorate at Hogwarts, a newly discovered interest/talent in belly dancing and an unusual romance with a certain Hogwarts professor.

    Live-Action TV 
  • Criminal Minds:
    • Tales From Quantico is a small series of oneshots involving the Reid/Emily pairing in a mature relationship. For Reid's birthday, Emily decides to put on a private show for Reid, showing off her belly dancing skills that she acquired from a professional dancer in Alexandria, Egypt.
  • iCarly:
    • In iBelly Dance, Sam and Carly end up being invited by Ms. Benson to attend a belly dancing class with her. To everyone's surprise, Sam ends up being the one enjoying it the most and even goes so far as to work at a Middle Eastern restaurant to perform once a week...much to Freddie's delight/surprise.
  • The X-Files:
    • In The Jewel of the Desert, Scully ends up being kidnapped by a Bedouin sheik. While Mulder finds a way to bring her to safety, Scully spends time with the rest of the captured members of the sheik's harem and learns how to dance to entertain his guests.

    Video Games 
  • Kingdom Hearts:
    • In Stolen Way, Roxas is the leader of a pirate ship, with most of the members of Organization XIII along with Sora, Kairi and Namine as crew members. In a mission to save Xion from a malicious queen, the whole crew dresses up in disguise for the Queen's masquerade party, with Larxene opting to dress up as a belly dancer from Agrabah for the mission.
  • Persona 5:
    • Futaba's Unveiling stars Futaba Sakura, who has been practising a secret hobby which has kept her sane since the loss of her mother, and that hobby is... belly dance. After a chance accident, knowledge of her secret spreads among her foster father and her friends, inspiring her to join a bellydance class and take her talent to the next level.
  • Pokémon:
    • The Seviper Dancer is an Interspecies Romance fic involving a Seviper captured as a circus pet and one of the dancers of the circus, who first attempts to train the Pokemon to dance with her for future performances before leading to more touchy territory.
  • Shantae:
    • Dancing in Delight is a Shantae/Risky short story taking place after the events of Pirate's Curse, where Shantae ends up performing a private show for Risky, and the night ends with a quick romantic interaction between the two.
    • Daughter of the Morning has Shantae act as a newly expecting mother, blindly caught by the side effects of pregnancy. After spending some time with her growing baby, Shantae attempts to return to her normal daily routine, even picking up belly dancing again after learning how helpful the exercise can be for those in motherhood.
    • How Tuki Got Her Groove explores how Tuki, the new naga dancer introduced in Shantae: Half-Genie Hero, had acquired her dancing skills from other dancing genies before she formally meets Shantae in-game.
    • A Risky Encounter serves as sort of a prequel to the entire franchise, as Risky initially lands at Scuttle Town. While surveying the entire area, she finds the local dancing parlor to partake in the town's talented dancers and meets Shantae for the first time, instantly blown away by her dancing abilities.
    • The Snake Teacher involves Risky poorly attempts to overtake Tuki and is subjected to a prison-like state inside of Tuki's jar, forced to adapt to a new lifestyle of taking dancing lessons from Tuki and ends up questioning her character and motives as a whole.note 
  • Skies of Arcadia:
    • Hypnosis in Maramba details the attempt of Belleza to seduce the main trio into submission and to turn them into her personal slaves. She manages to succeed and manages to escort Aika, Fina and Vyse out of the tavern by having them disguised as dancers and a servant, respectively.
  • Sonic the Hedgehog:
    • The Bat Dancer takes place after the events of Sonic and the Secret Rings, with Shahra leading Sonic into a palace of wonders, filled with servants and harem girls. Shahra decides to have Sonic enjoy the pleasures of the palace as thanks for saving the Arabian Nights, leading him to the alternate world's version of Rouge the Bat, the sultry headmistress of the palace's harem. Rouge drums up a belly dancing performance and leaves Sonic in a dazed state where he is vulnerable to her antics. The story offers three different endings that possibly occur after Rouge finishes her dance for Sonic. The first ending simply has Rouge brainwash Sonic into mentally reliving his experiences at the palace whenever someone mentions a trigger word. The second ending has Rouge take advantage of the confused Sonic and attempt to steal Shahra's power all for herself. The third ending involves Rouge deciding to add Sonic to the large collection of harem girls in the palace, calling on another servant to transform Sonic from male to female.
    • The Hero and the Arabian Lynx is a story centered on Tails and Nicole from the Archie Comics series, where Nicole tends to an injured Tails with a special nightly performance of dance to help seduce the young fox.
  • Super Mario Bros.:
    • The Lamps of Hypnos features Bowser using ancient lamps from Sarasaland in order to turn Peach and Daisy into his personal belly-dancing genies, complete with powers of hypnosis. Bowser tries to do the same exact thing to Rosalina, only for the plan to backfire and transform him instead into a genderbendered genie version of himself, now happily serving Rosalina along with Peach and Daisy.
  • Tekken:
    • Forbidden Love is a Bryan Fury/Zafina story, where Bryan is a soldier stationed in Egypt and starts to pursue a shaky romance with the lovely, reserved dancer Zafina; the story puts a focus on Bryan trying to overcome cultural differences to get closer to his person of interest.

  • The Adventures of Jimmy Neutron, Boy Genius:
    • To Cross the Rubicon: After Ms. Fowl assigns the class a group project based on the culture and history of Egypt, Cindy, Libby and their group decide to put on a group performance of Egyptian-style belly dancing, taught to them by the mother of one of Cindy and Libby's group members.
  • Chip 'n Dale: Rescue Rangers:
    • In Gadget Hackwrench and the Curse of the Pink Elephant, Gadget ends up crashing in Egypt during a sandstorm and hides inside a pyramid for the night. After passing out from exhaustion, Gadget enters a dream-like state where a mystical elephant god keeps her safe and alive. In return, however, the elephant god demands that Gadget be its new follower, playing a flute that controls her movements; from then on, Gadget is subjected to an unconscious state of belly dancing, even using the dance to lure the rest of the Rescue Rangers into submitting to the elephant god.
  • Gargoyles:
    • My Big Fat Gargoyle Wedding: Thailog decides to have his newly created female minions dance for his entertainment to show off their beauty.
  • Kim Possible:
    • In Renaissance Kim, Kim and Ron end up chasing a runaway Shego into a Medieval Reenactment event. After the two search through the festivities, they discover Shego disguise herself as one of the dancers performing for the night. In an attempt to catch her off guard, Kim signs up to dance herself, only to end up in a dancing duel with Shego for the entertainment of the Medieval crowd.
  • My Little Pony: Friendship Is Magic:
    • In The Girls of My Life, Human!Rarity and Human!Spike share an intimate moment together, where Rarity models a dancing costume she crafted herself and dances to Spike's joy, hoping to arouse him.
  • Star vs. the Forces of Evil:
    • Queens of Mewni is a fan expansion of the detailed history of the Butterfly monarchy, from the personal lives of each queen (along with some new additions to the royal lineage) to significant events that occurred in the kingdom. Hemera the Builder is introduced as one of the earliest queens to rule, who was credited for building Butterfly Castle and had pursued recreational activities like belly dancing during her time studying in university.
  • Teen Titans:
    • In One Thing Leads to Another, Starfire performs a Tamaranian version of belly dance (referred to as the Ruka'ar te nu Gorta or "Dance of the Snake", translated) for a distressed Robin, hoping to both relieve him of his stress and to solidify their relationship with each other as lovers. There turns out to be much more in-depth backstory and purpose behind the dance, especially considering that it was usually performed by Tamaranian females with royal status for their loved ones during their last night together before the female leaves behind her true love to fulfill her royal duty in arranged marriage.
  • Totally Spies!:
    • Totally Harem takes place in an underground palace styled after the Arabian Nights, filled with harem girls who all worship their captor and practice their dancing. Once Sam, Alex and Clover have fallen under the hypnotic spell of the palace's atmosphere, the three spies are all brought in to the Rajah, who's revealed to be a beautiful woman; she then commands the the main trio and other harem girls to start dancing for her at the end of the story.
  • Yogi's Treasure Hunt:
    • In Yogi's Treasure Hunt: Mysteries of the Lost Magical Lamp, Yogi, Boo-Boo, Snagglepuss, Huck, Quick Draw, Augie, Doggie Daddy, Snooper and Blabber disguised themselves as them as they made their performances both in the temple and the palace.
