John Mitchum (September 1919 - November 29, 2001) was an American actor best known for Dirty Harry (1971), The Enforcer (1976), and Paint Your Wagon (1969).
He was married four times and had three children. His siblings are Julie Mitchum and Robert Mitchum, James Mitchum and Christopher Mitchum are his nephews and Bentley Mitchum is his great-nephew.
Mitchum died in 2001 at the age of 82 from complications due to having three strokes.
