Four Dimension Dragons (Four Dimension Dragons 4DD/フォーディメンションドラゴン Fō Dimenshon Doragon)

From left to right:Clear Wing Synchro Dragon, Odd-Eyes Pendulum Dragon, Dark Rebellion Xyz Dragon and Starve Venom Fusion Dragon
The Four Dimension Dragons are a series of Dragon-Type Monsters introduced in Yu-Gi-Oh! ARC-V. They are used by Yuya Sakaki and his dimensional counterparts: Yuto, Yugo and Yuri. They are the representative monsters of the Four Dimensions.
  • Ambiguous Gender: Their genders are not directly stated in the show. The real-life Pendulum Evolution structure deck hints at their genders by introducing Magicians that seem to be humanized versions of the dragons. Odd-Eyes, Dark Rebellion and Starving Venom are represented as males, while Clear Wing is represented by a female.
  • Ambiguously Evil: No one really knows what is going on with the dragons. They are loyal to their masters but at the same time they're the cause for the Dragon Boys horrifying powers and seem to desire to be in the same place, which nearly caused the four Dragon Boys to fuse. Then we learn that they destroyed the Original Dimension but it was done as revenge against the blood-thirsty audience.
  • All Your Powers Combined:
    • Odd-Eyes Rebellion Dragon is the mix of Odd-Eyes Pendulum Dragon and Dark Rebellion Xyz Dragon, this is seen as the monster is an Xyz Pendulum Monster. Then there is its inverted counterpart, Odd-Eyes Raging Dragon, which combines the power of darkness, the flames of Odd-Eyes and the lightning of Dark Rebellion.
    • Odd-Eyes Venom Dragon is the mix between Odd-Eyes Pendulum Dragon and Starve Venom Fusion Dragon, this monster is a Fusion Pendulum Monster.
    • Odd-Eyes Wing Dragon is the mix between Odd-Eyes Pendulum Dragon and Clear Wing Synchro Dragon, this monster is a Synchro Pendulum Monster.
    • Taken to up eleven when we learn the dragons were once fused into one being with their original owner, Zarc
  • Battle Aura: Odd-Eyes Raging Dragon is surrounded by a dark aura when it uses its Monster Effect.
  • Belly Mouth: Supreme King Dragon Starve Venom has one.
  • Berserk Button: The dragons are this to each other. This also affects their wielders.
  • Body Motifs: Although it's less obvious with Dark Rebellion, each of the dragons is associated with a specific body part: the eyes for Odd-Eyes, the fangs for Dark Rebellion and Starve Venom Fusion Dragon, and the wings for Clear Wing. Each part is also mentioned in the dragon's summoning chant.
"Appear now with your wondrous and beautiful dichromatic eyes. Odd-Eyes Pendulum Dragon!"
"Fangs of pitch-black darkness, rise up against the foolish oppression! Descend now! Xyz Summon! Come forth! Rank 4! Dark Rebellion Xyz Dragon!"
"Spread those wondrous and beautiful wings, and strike down our enemies at lightspeed! Synchro Summon! Come forth! Level 7! Clear Wing Synchro Dragon!"
"Beautiful flowers that tempt insects with your enchanting fragrance, become one now, and let the hell locked within your petals give birth to a new menace! Fusion Summon! Come forth! The starving dragon bearing venomous fangs! Level 8! Starve Venom Fusion Dragon!"
  • Bond Creatures: They are this for their respective Dragon Boy and as a whole for Zarc
  • Color-Coded Characters: Each of the Dragons have a color attached to them. Odd-Eyes has red, Dark Rebellion has blue, Clear Wing has green and Starve Venom has purple.
  • Dark Is Evil: Starve Venom Fusion Dragon, the dragon of Yuri is a DARK monster, is the most vicious one of the four. Although, Odd-Eyes Dragon and Dark Rebellion Xyz Dragon used to be evil when they were under Zarc's possession. Though at the end of the series it's averted with all four being under Yuya's guidance.
  • Dark Is Not Evil: Odd-Eyes Pendulum Dragon, the least violent of the four is a DARK monster. While Dark Rebellion Xyz Dragon is more aggressive, it is ultimately still on the good guys' side. At the end of the series, this is true for all four dragons.
  • Evil Counterpart:
    • Starve Venom Fusion Dragon to Odd-Eyes Pendulum Dragon. Starve Venom looks like a corrupted and twisted version of Odd-Eyes.
    • Supreme King Dragon Zarc to Shooting Quasar Dragon. They are both made up of the their respective series' dragons, the Four Dimensional Dragons for Zarc and the Signer Dragons for Shooting Quasar. But while Shooting Quasar is the final ace of Yusei, the protagonist of 5D's, Zarc is the Big Bad of the series.
    • With the exception of Darkwurm, the Supreme King Dragon archetype is this to all of them.
  • Green and Mean: The Supreme King Dragon versions have green stripes and are under the control of Zarc
  • Heel–Face Turn: Downplayed as the Dragons were never truly evil. But by the end of the series all four have decided to not fuse as Supreme King Dragon Zarc and work with Yuya to once again make everyone smile.
  • Hidden Depths: Episode 146 reveals that the Dragons are scared of Ray and her revival.
  • Hunter of Their Own Kind: In the anime, each of the Supreme King Dragon versions of the Dimension Dragons are this for their own summon type. They are Special Summoned if the opponent use their summon type and they can be returned to the Extra Deck to make the ATK of opponent's monster of that summoning type 0.
  • Jealous Pet: After Yuya is able to fend off Reiji's continuous attacks in episode 147 with Dark Rebellion, Clear Wing and Starve Venom, Odd-Eyes gets jealous that Yuya has to take the time to say he hasn't forgotten Odd-Eyes.
  • Lighter and Softer: Odd-Eyes Pendulum Dragon seems to be this in comparison to the other ace cards of previous protagonists. Unlike the others, Odd-Eyes Pendulum seems to have a comedic side, as shown in the first opening where it enjoys the ride with Yuya. It notably has some comedic moments, like when it happily ate a lot of spaghetti or when it had a very cartoonish looking smiling face. This, however, doesn't apply to its evolutions The reveal that Odd-Eyes willingly destroyed a dimension averts this trope though..
  • Not So Stoic: The dragons are generally quiet and imposing, but will have moments where they display more emotions. Odd-Eyes can occasionally be spotted smiling during a duel, and he gets jealous when Yuya compliments the other dragons. Dark Rebellion also smiles when Yuya plays Miracle Rocket Show and lets him ride inside a rocket.
  • Our Dragons Are Different:
    • Odd-Eyes Pendulum Dragon's body resemble that of a dinosaur and unlike the others, it lacks wings. It's also the only one so far with a Breath Weapon.
    • Dark Rebellion Xyz Dragon has a more humanoid shape and large mechanical wings that can unfold.
    • Clear Wing Synchro Dragon has very short legs and multiple wings that appear to fitted with circuitry.
    • Starve Venom Fusion Dragon has a serpentine body shape, but possesses arms and legs. Its silhouette has been compared to Kaiser Dragon, and it's since been revealed to possess a vaguely humanoid shape, with a more plant-like appearance and multiple sets of jaws all over its body.
  • Overrated and Underleveled: They are said to be the strongest monsters of their respective summon types. While the four are definitely strong monsters, they're not really believable as the strongest of an entire summoning class. Averted by Zarc's "Supreme King Dragon" variants of the four, which are much more powerful, including the ability to summon themselves on the opponent's turn, and return themselves to the Extra Deck to summon two replacement monsters (setting up the summon of another one of them immediately) and sap the ATK of all enemy monsters of the same summoning type to 0. As Zarc demonstrates by effortlessly beating a gauntlet of the heroes, a properly built deck focused on them can shut down pretty much any attempt you make to fight against them, proving their reputation is well-deserved.
  • Palette Swap: With the exception of Darkwurm, the Supreme King Dragons are this to each of them.
  • Poison Is Evil: Starve Venom is the most vicious dragon.
  • Power Copying: Starve Venom and its Supreme King Dragon counterpart can duplicate the effects of opposing monsters for themselves.
  • Red Is Violent: Odd-Eyes Raging Dragon feels like it was designed with this trope in mind. It's a bright red dragon that's effect will nuke the field and it gains power from said destruction. Both times Yuya used it has resulted in mass destruction from the surrounding field. In fact Odd-Eyes Raging Dragon's title is The Supreme King Violent Dragon.
  • The Rival: None of these Dragons likes each other, as shown when Odd-Eyes and Dark Rebellion were first summoned against each other. They tried to brutally destroy each other.
  • Roaring Rampage of Revenge: In the Original Dimension, the dragons were sick and tired of being slaves that did nothing but battle for the entertainment of humans. They grew to hate humanity except Zarc and attempted to destroy all of humanity in revenge.
  • Skeletons in the Coat Closet: Dark Requiem Xyz Dragon has bone designs on his body.
  • Superior Successor: Odd-Eyes Pendulum Dragon to Odd-Eyes Dragon, and Yuya arguably to Zarc eventually.
  • Taking You with Me: Starving Venom Fusion Dragon third effect destroys all of the opponent's Special Summoned monsters (though it never actually sees any use), and Greedy Venom Fusion Dragon's second effect destroys every monster on the field when it's destroyed.
  • Teeth-Clenched Teamwork: As stated before the Dragons don't like each other but when Yuya uses Dark Rebellion and Odd-Eyes at the same time, they can work together.
  • Teleporters and Transporters: Clear Wing can teleport Yugo and his D-Wheel, but he doesn't have control on where he's going.
  • Took a Level in Badass: Odd-Eyes took a permanent one when it transformed from Odd-Eyes Dragon to Odd-Eyes Pendulum Dragon.
    • Odd-Eyes also has Rune-Eyes Pendulum Dragon, Beast-Eyes Pendulum Dragon, Odd-Eyes Rebellion Dragon, Brave-Eyes Pendulum Dragon and Odd-Eyes Raging Dragon.
    • Dark Rebellion has Odd-Eyes Rebellion Dragon, Dark Requiem Xyz Dragon and Odd-Eyes Raging Dragon.
    • Clear Wing has Crystal Wing Synchro Dragon.
    • Starve Venom has Greedy Venom Fusion Dragon.
    • Since Zarc's revival, he's revealed even stronger versions of them as Supreme King Dragons.
  • Took a Level in Kindness: During Yuya's last duel with Jack, Yuya is able to purify the monsters and help them let go of their anger. Yuya's next duel solidifies this, as the dragons work with him in an Action Duel.
  • Too Many Mouths: Starve Venom is a horrifying monstrosity with eyes and mouths everywhere.
  • Uniformity Exception: Each of the dragon has something it doesn't share with the others.
    • Odd-Eyes is the sole dragon who is placed in the Main Deck instead of the Extra Deck, although it can be placed in the Extra Deck due to its nature as a Pendulum Monster.
    • Dark Rebellion is an Xyz Monster and thus has a Rank instead of a Level.
    • Clear Wing is a WIND monster, unlike the other three who are DARK monsters.
    • Starve Venom has 2800 ATK, unlike the other three who have 2500. Its Level is also 8 instead of 7 like Odd-Eyes and Clear Wing.
  • What Beautiful Eyes!: The Japanese summoning chants for Odd-Eyes Pendulum Dragon and its evolutions always emphasize the eyes.
"Today's main attraction, the rare dragon with differently colored eyes! Odd-Eyes Dragon!"
"Appear! Wondrous and beautiful dichromatic eyes! Odd-Eyes Pendulum Dragon!"
"Come forth! The ferocious dragon with luminous feral eyes! Beast-Eyes Pendulum Dragon!"
"Courageous dragon burning with sublime eyes! Brave-Eyes Pendulum Dragon!"
"Come forth, Rank 7! Dragon whose eyes glitter with rage! Supreme King Black Dragon - Odd-Eyes Rebellion Dragon!"
  • World's Strongest Man: Each of the Dragons are said to be the strongest of their respective summoning method.
  • Wreathed in Flames: Odd-Eyes Raging Dragon's body and its controller are wreathed in flames when it attacks.

En Cards

    En Cards

En Cards

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/en_cards.png
Four continuous spell cards themed after the Kacho Fugetsu that were created by Leo Akaba to oppose Zarc, the Big Bad of Yu-Gi-Oh! ARC-V. They were used by Leo's daughter Ray and are the origin of the four bracelets worn by her fragments.
  • Anti-Magic: Their function. They were created to counter Zarc's power and they work perfectly.
  • Achilles' Heel: Pendulum Monsters are outside of the En Card's effects as their effects are not negated by the En cards, they are sent to the extra deck when destroyed so the user doesn't take damage when they are destroyed and most importantly they can be revived. Zarc invoked this as he created Pendulum Summoning after losing to Ray.
  • Brought Down to Normal: En Moon, En Winds and En Birds have the ability to turn all Fusion, Synchro and Xyz monsters, respectively, that are on the field, in the graveyard or are banished into normal monsters while also negating their effects.
  • The Corruption: Inversion. Ray states the cards breakdown all power and returns them into a pure existence.
  • Difficult, but Awesome: The cards themselves. They need all four to be activated to be useful and En Birds needs 3 or more Xyz monsters in the graveyard and En Flowers to activate. En Winds needs 3 or more Synchro monsters in the graveyard and both En Birds and En Flowers to activate. En Moon needs 3 or more Fusion monsters in the graveyard and the other three en cards to activate. But they are the only cards that can take down Zarc.
  • Fountain of Youth: As Ray and Reiji explain the En Cards purify everything around them which includes the user and the target and in the case of humans, they're turned into babies.
  • Good Counterpart: To the Dimension Dragons. They were created by Leo to counter them.
  • Petal Power: Whenever En Flower's destructive effect happens, petals start to fall.
  • Power Nullifier: Each of the four card have the ability to negate the effects of monsters.
  • Theme Naming: Each of the four cards's name starts with "En" followed by the aspect of the Kacho Fugetsu it represents.
  • Total Party Kill: All together the four En Cards destroys all of your opponent's monsters and damages the opponent 600 points of damage for each monster destroyed and sent to the graveyard.
  • Villain-Beating Artifact: Leo created these cards to defeat Zarc after he proved too powerful for the residents of Original Dimension to defeat. It should be stated that due to their incredibly difficult activation requirements, it takes a very skilled duelist to use them effectively as seen when Leo failed to do so in episode 139.

The G.O.D cards are level 10 Pendulum monsters with 0 Pendulum Scales that debuted in the ARC-V manga. All of them came from the power of the Genesis Omega Dragon whose power was split thanks to Adam's experiments, one part becoming the Adam Factor and another part of it manifested in the Yuya's timeline as a card.

Eve is the holder of the Genesis Omega Dragon card while the other two cards are created from the Adam Factor wielded between Yuya and Reiji. Yuya creates the G.O.D.-Eyes Phantom Dragon with his brothers' sacrifice and Reiji manifests the Divine Go-D/D/D Zero King Zero G.O.D. Reiji card with Adam's help.

Tropes associated with the G.O.D cards:

  • All Your Powers Combined: G.O.D.-Eyes Phantom Dragon is the combination of Yuto, Yuri, and Yugo's monsters with the Adam Factor inside Yuya.
  • Department of Redundancy Department: Divine Go-D/D/D Zero King Zero G.O.D. Reiji. Reiji's name also translates to "Zero Child", so it can be interpreted as having three Zeroes and two G.O.D. in its name.note
  • Fun with Acronyms: Genesis Omega Dragon's acronyms are spelled as G.O.D., and it also signifies its god-like powers to manipulate time and space.
  • Generic Doomsday Villain: The only known reason why the Genesis Omega Dragon wants to destroy countless worlds is that the makers behind the card designed it so for personal satisfaction and greed.
  • Jackass Genie: Genesis Omega Dragon grants anyone's desire by offering them a timeline where the horrible events never happened, but it comes at the cost of serving it after their lives had ended. This is also how it destroys worlds, it gives the worlds what they desire and the happiness they feel stagnates the worlds until civilization dies out.
Genesis Omega Dragon: I am the being that grants happiness to all in this universe! And I lead all to despair!
  • Large and in Charge: All of them are massive beings that tower over everything after being summoned into the field.
  • One-Hit Kill: Zero G.O.D Reiji's special ability is if it successfully attacks the opponent, their life points drop to 0.
  • Overly Long Name: Divine Go-D/D/D Zero King Zero G.O.D. Reiji is one of the longest card names with 43 characters in it.
  • Person of Mass Destruction: Genesis Omega Dragon can destroy monsters on the field up to the number of cards in the player's pendulum zone once per turn. Outside of battles, it already destroyed countless worlds and revealed to have destroyed Yuya's timeline just from manifesting from it's card.
  • Power Nullifier: Genesis Omega Dragon can place one pendulum card from the hand, deck, or extra deck to a pendulum zone, negate an attack or effect and immediately end the turn if it is targetted by an attack.
  • Scarf of Asskicking: Zero King wears a huge scarf that is reminiscent of Reiji's own cool scarf.
  • Status Buff:
    • At the start of every turn, Genesis Omega Dragon gains 1000 attack points.
    • G.O.D.-Eyes Phantom Dragon gains 1000 attack points for each dragon pendulum monster used for its special summon and the other battling monster loses the same attack points.
  • Time Master: Alongside Space Master. Their card effects emulate time and space manipulation by either manipulating the player phase and gaining attack points per turn to placing or removing cards from the field.
    • G.O.D.-Eyes Phantom Dragon has the ability to skip the opponent's turn and move to the next Battle Phase if its attack is negated.
    • Genesis Omega Dragon can immediately end the turn, among other effects, once the opponents target it with an attack.
