some caption text

  • Animal Lover: He absolutely loves dogs and states that he will never trust someone who hates them.
  • Berserk Button: He hates stupid questions and stupid people, as he shows a lot of restraint in answering this kind of question from customers.
  • The Determinator: Despite working a soul-crushing, exhausting job that would make the average joe do nothing with their free time but relax, Ducky created his Youtube channel and with time, effort and determination managed to make it his full-time job.
  • Disappeared Dad: It's revealed that Ducky's dad wasn't around when he was growing up, with Ducky stating he was a product of a one-night stand.
  • Equal-Opportunity Offender: Ducky's style of humor is to make fun of everyone and it consists of lewd and vulgar humor.
  • Generation Xerox: Ducky's dad was never around, with Ducky stating that he was a product of a one-night stand. In his adulthood, Ducky was a serial womanizer.
  • Hair-Trigger Temper: Ducky is quick to anger when it comes to his retail stories as he gets enraged by the sheer stupidity of customer requests and complaints.
  • The Hedonist: Although in no real position to support this nature, he has claimed on various occasions that he values materialistic objects greatly over sentimental ones.
  • Hypocrite: It's been implied that Ducky has helped Tony in the past by lying to his girlfriend about Tony's whereabouts while the latter is having an affair. Despite the fact that Ducky's own girlfriend cheated on him with multiple men and Ducky still has plenty of rage and hate for his ex for doing so.
  • Jerk with a Heart of Gold: Can go into angry rants at the drop of a hat and he uses colorful insults, however, he is proven to be a loyal friend. As shown when he saved Tony at a house party and he is shown in future videos to care dearly for Connie and his dogs.
  • No Social Skills: Can miss social cues on occasion and he goes to great lengths to avoid awkward social interactions.
  • Pay Evil unto Evil: His ex was a serial cheater who was dumped by Ducky after he had kissed another woman during a night out in Cork.
  • Revenge Is Not Justice: Although cheating on his then-girlfriend by kissing another woman was indeed inexcusable, Ducky explains that it's a complicated story. His girlfriend was a serial cheater and he was in a lot of pain during the relationship, which was only perpetuated by the cycle of breaking up with her and then getting back together with her. During a night out in Cork with the boys, Ducky decided to cheat on her out of sheer spite and was appalled by the lack of remorse he felt in doing so. Although Ducky still doesn't excuse what he did on principle, he accepts it now as a necessary step in finally breaking up with her for good.
  • Revenge is Sweet: Discussed. The act that motivated Ducky to leave his ex was kissing another woman while he was out in Cork with The Boys. However, he didn't enjoy it and was appalled at himself for not feeling any remorse for doing so. His then-girlfriend was a serial cheater and he was in a cycle of breaking up with her and then getting back together with her, which only shattered his self-respect and self-esteem. When retelling this story, Ducky explains that the event was inexcusable and he's accepted it now as a step in breaking up with his ex. Accepting that he had emotionally checked out of the relationship and needed to save himself from becoming just as bad as her.
  • Working-Class Hero: Ducky grew up in rural Ireland and in a working-class family, he's also shown mocking the upper class and snobby people for not enjoying simple pleasures, such as fast food.

    Connie

  • Aww Look They Really Do Love Each Other: She and Ducky relentlessly take the piss out of each other but do love each other very much.
  • Big Eater: According to Ducky, Connie has a sweet tooth and is constantly hungry.
  • Gasshole: According to Ducky, Connie's farts are disgusting and one of his rules in the relationship is to never fart around each other.
  • Not So Above It All: Connie makes as many jokes about Ducky as he makes fun of her.
  • She Cleans Up Nicely: According to Ducky, when Connie dresses up for the occasion, she goes all out and he's all over her.

Friends

    PJ

  • Berserk Button: Dying in a video game always makes PJ see red. The irony being he always plays games on their hardest difficulty.
  • Heterosexual Life-Partners: Ducky and PJ have been mates since before they went to college. Jokingly subverted on Tuesdays.
  • Know When to Fold 'Em: In ''It WASN'T Grand - Living With The Boys", PJ was the one who caught on to the fact that The Gang From Cork was high on cocaine and was the first to point out that they shouldn't risk fighting them for both that reason and because they were outnumbered 5 to 3.
  • Manly Facial Hair: Out of all The Boys, PJ is the only one depicted with a beard. The beard appears to be based on a chin strap beard, which is often worn by promiscuous men and PJ is known to be a serial womanizer.

    Heft

  • Meaningful Name: According to the short video of Heft vomiting from an internet challenge, Heft might have gotten his nickname from his weight as he appears to have a large gut (but it might also be a result of the camera angles).
  • Mr. Fanservice: He's often depicted wearing a leather jacket or being outright shirtless.
  • Sex God: He famously had sex for almost an hour, much to the ire of Ducky and PJ.

    Tony

  • Alcohol-Induced Idiocy: He drunkenly got into a fight with The Gang from Cork after being caught flirting with the leader's girlfriend. According to Ducky, Tony genuinely thought he could take on 5 guys on his own.
  • Asshole Victim: Considering the guy has had a few affairs and nearly had everyone arrested for drug possession after secretly bringing cocaine to a party, nobody is feeling too bad for him when he receives his many comeuppances.
  • Butt-Monkey: Most stories involving Tony often have him suffering in one way or another, from having to walk home for several hours from the hospital, to having a girl vomit in his mouth while they were kissing.
  • Fat Bastard: Tony is shown to be a heavy-set man compared to the rest of Ducky's friends and is said by Ducky to be the biggest jerk of all of them. In "It Wasn't Grand - Living With the Boys", Tony actually got into a fight in Cork because he was trying to seduce a woman at a nightclub and her boyfriend caught him doing it, Tony was infuriated about being told to "fuck off" and he and the boyfriend nearly got into a brawl outside.
  • Fatal Flaw: Anger, Tony is described by Ducky as the first one to jump into a fight and it's nearly got the boys into all sorts of trouble. With the incident in Cork being a defining example, he nearly got into a fight with a group of guys because he was caught hitting on the leader's girlfriend. Once Ducky realized they were on drugs, he and PJ had to physically drag Tony away to avoid a scrap.
  • The Friend Nobody Likes: Implied, several stories have Ducky being meaner to him than the others and telling stories where Tony has; betrayed the boys by kissing Emma despite trying to hook her up with Dan, nearly got them arrested by secretly bringing cocaine to a party, and having affairs while with his girlfriend, Sarah. In "It Wasn't Grand - Living With the Boys", Ducky says that he hasn't left Tony to fend for himself whenever he gets into trouble because he won't break his oath of brotherhood with Tony.
  • Hot-Blooded: Ducky describes Tony as the wildcard of the group who gets others into trouble. However, Ducky also describes him as the first one to start fighting to defend your honor if there was any trouble.
  • The Load: Due to Tony's wildcard nature, Ducky outright called him a liability because he had to pull Tony out of his many, many, many mishaps.
  • Odd Friendship: It's not been explained yet as to why Ducky chooses to be friends with Tony, a disloyal and self-serving serial cheater while Ducky himself values loyalty and felt bad for not feeling any remorse for cheating on his girlfriend. Ducky admits that the only reason he defended Tony in a fight is because of loyalty, he knew from the get-go that Tony was in the wrong for hitting on a woman who was in a relationship and then angrily telling her boyfriend to "fuck off" when he confronted Tony over it. Since these stories are told in hindsight, it may just be a sign of maturity on Ducky's end. That being said, Tony is also described as a brawler who would be the first to fight to defend your honor, would go along with any plan (no matter how stupid they are), and would share all sorts of stories when they calm down.
  • Token Evil Teammate: Evil is pushing it, Tony appears as more of a jerk than Ducky and the boys. Tony is the one who has had affairs while with Sarah, his girlfriend and has betrayed the lads by kissing Emma despite everyone making a pact to hook her up with Dan. In A "Little" Slip Of The Tongue - Living With The Boys, Ducky outright says through text that while none of the boys are exactly saints, Tony is the worst of the 5.
  • Treachery Is a Special Kind of Evil: In most stories about Tony, the most consistent element is that he's a serial cheater with a record of hitting on women in relationships, hitting on women while he himself was in a relationship, and has had to rely on the boys cleaning up his mess. This is in stark contrast to Ducky, who values loyalty above all else and actually felt bad for not feeling remorse over kissing another woman while he was in a toxic relationship.
Ducky: (via a comment on "It Wasn't Grand - Living With the Boys"), You can't trust Tony. But you can trust Tony to be Tony.

Family

     Ducky's Mammy

  • Animal Motifs: Pigs, she's often accompanied by pig squeals and pig sound effects because of her shameless farting and toilet habits.
  • Gasshole: Ducky describes her as "the conductor of the finest, cheek-squeaking ring clapper orchestra this side of Europe". With her unleashing various kinds of farts to the chagrin of Ducky and others unfortunate enough to be in the council house the family lived in.
  • Laser-Guided Karma: Ducky decided once to give her a taste of her own medicine by holding in a fart while driving her around town then releasing it and locking the car doors. She threw up in her mouth then vomited out the side of the car when they stopped. Ducky was laughing his ass off until the smell of his own fart made him vomit too.
  • The Pig-Pen: She had no sense of personal hygiene, with Ducky describing the numerous disgusting habits she had.
  • Posthumous Character: Ducky stated she'd passed away some years before starting his channel, something he torments Connie with every Father's/Mother's Day.

     Ducky's Older Brother

  • Aloof Big Brother: Ducky's brother is usually portrayed as stronger and more physically fit than Ducky.
  • Bald Head of Toughness: Implied, he's the only main character to be drawn bald and he's a muscular security guard who's been doing it since his twenties.
  • Bald of Authority: Implied, as the older sibling (he's 6 years older than Ducky) he was likely trusted by Ducky's Mammy to look after the family in the patriarch's absence and he was the one who brought Ducky home when the latter got blackout drunk on his fourteenth birthday.
  • Big Brother Instinct: When Ducky got drunk at 14 years old, his older brother was the one who found him and brought him home while angrily questioning how he got drunk in the first place.
  • The Dutiful Son: Considering that Ducky's father was never in the picture while growing up, it's likely that Ducky's brother had to step up and look after the family. Hence why he worked on their uncle's dairy farm in his late teens and worked as a security guard in his twenties. He was also the one who brought Ducky home when the latter secretly got drunk on his 14th birthday and didn't return home.
  • Foolish Sibling, Responsible Sibling: He's the responsible sibling because he's not only the oldest of the family, but he's also shown working jobs that involve physical exercises, such as farming and security.
  • Mr. Fanservice: He gets drawn with a muscular physique and is justified because he worked in security while in his twenties.

     Ducky's Younger Brother

  • Toilet Humor: His way of dealing with his mother's unhygienic habits was to get even by putting her off her food with equally disgusting comments, much to Ducky's amusement.

     Ducky's Younger Sister

     Ducky's Biological Father

  • Disappeared Dad: Since Ducky stated himself to be a product of a one-night stand, his father was never in the picture.
  • Tell Me About My Father: Subverted. Unlike most growing up in his position, Ducky has never expressed a desire to learn more about his dad. The only thing he's stated to want to know is if there are any hereditary diseases he should be aware of.
  • Un-person: We've never seen an avatar of Ducky's father, due to the fact he was never there.

Antagonists

     The Garda

  • Anti-Villain: They're not really antagonists, just police officers who Ducky and The Boys keep running afoul of. At worst, they jumped to the conclusion that The Boys had cocaine during a party because one of them saw a pile of flour and mistook it for the drug. At best, they're just running on information have at the time and can be reasoned with.
  • Bald of Evil: One of The Garda is usually portrayed as having a severely receded hairline.
  • Inexplicably Identical Individuals: Parodied. They both have the same avatar in every story and Ducky even joked about it by referencing Pokémon
  • Reasonable Authority Figure: In It WASN'T Grand - Living With The Boys, The Garda got a call about Ducky and Connor sleeping in their car after a drunk night out. Knowing full well that Ducky couldn't lie his way out of it, Ducky simply explained that they did have a night out and chose to sleep in the car rather than drive off to their accommodations. Satisfied with the answer, The Garda simply let them off with a warning and told them to go get some breakfast.

     "Margot Robbie" / Ducky's Ex
  • Double Standard: Abuse, Female on Male: Although she wasn't described as physically abusive to Ducky, she was emasculating and verbally abusive towards him.
  • Greater-Scope Villain: She's had a massive influence on Ducky's life, namely that she destroyed his sense of self-worth and left more than a few mental scars on him.
  • Hate Sink: She's the closest thing to a true antagonist in the series, as she was verbally abusive, a serial cheater, and dragged Ducky to an expensive restaurant (despite knowing that he couldn't afford it). Ducky hates her so much that he has to rename her in the episodes to avoid seething with anger.
  • No Name Given: Because of the impact she had on Ducky's life, he absolutely hates her and is so offended by the mere mention of her name that he has to rename her as "Margot Robbie" just to avoid losing his temper when telling stories about her. She's even been repeatedly called a "cunt" by Ducky and his friends. In "Whining and Dining - Eating At A Fancy Restaurant", Ducky even goes as far as to call a restaurant she dragged him to the "Le Kuntin Expensive" in her honor.
  • Plot-Inciting Infidelity: Her complete lack of faithfulness is what instigated Ducky's promiscuous phase that created a multitude of his stories.
  • Really Gets Around: She was horribly promiscuous while she was with Ducky, apparently sleeping with 7 different men (that he knows of).
  • Small Role, Big Impact: Although she's only played a main role in 2 episodes and has only been mentioned a few times, she's directly responsible for everything in Ducky's life. From his promiscuity, his mental health issues, and his strong value of loyalty.
  • Spoiled Brat: Heavily implied to be the case because Ducky explained that she was "familiar" with fancy restaurants and is said to be verbally abusive and emasculating.
  • Ungrateful Bitch: She's cheated on Ducky with 7 different men despite forcing him to take her to an expensive restaurant.

     The Gang from Cork
  • Ax-Crazy: They were all allegedly on cocaine during the night. Rather than help Tony fight them, Ducky and PJ wisely decided that they were better off retreating before the fight started.
  • Hell-Bent for Leather: They're all depicted as wearing leather jackets and they were on the verge of drug-induced violence had Ducky and PJ not dragged Tony out of the fight.
  • Hot-Blooded: They were apparently on cocaine when they confronted Tony about chatting up the gang leader's girlfriend and they were on the verge of fighting Tony had Ducky and PJ not dragged him away.
  • Inexplicably Identical Individuals: Like the Garda, The Gang from Cork wears the same outfit but later on each member is shown wearing a different colored t-shirt.
  • Jerkass Has a Point: Ducky believes the Gang Leader was right to be mad at Tony for chatting up with his girlfriend.
  • Rugged Scar: The gang leader stands out from his friends by having a scar over one of his eyes.
  • Trash Talk: The leader told Tony to "fuck off" when he caught the latter flirting with his girlfriend and both he and Tony had to be kicked out for loudly arguing with each other. Arguments escalated to a point where Ducky, PJ, and Tony were on the verge of fighting the leader and his 4 friends.
