* AlcoholFueledStupidity: He drunkenly got into a fight with The Gang from Cork after being caught flirting with the leader's girlfriend. According to Ducky, Tony genuinely thought he could take on 5 guys on his own.

* BaldOfEvil: One of The Gardai is usually portrayed as having a severely receded hairline.

* ReasonableAuthorityFigure: In ''It WASN'T Grand - Living With The Boys'', The Gardai got a call about Ducky and Connor sleeping in their car after a drunk night out. Knowing full well that Ducky couldn't lie his way out of it, Ducky simply explained that they did have a night out and chose to sleep in the car rather than drive off to their accommodations. Satisfied with the answer, The Gardai simply let them off with a warning and told them to go get some breakfast.

* InexplicablyIdenticalIndividuals: Like the Gardai, The Gang from Cork wears the same outfit but later on each member is shown wearing a different colored t-shirt.

* OddFriendship: It's not been explained yet as to why Ducky chooses to be friends with Tony, a disloyal and self-serving serial cheater while Ducky himself values loyalty and felt bad for not feeling any remorse for cheating on his girlfriend. Ducky admits that the only reason he defended Tony in a fight is because of loyalty, he knew from the get-go that Tony was in the wrong for hitting on a woman who was in a relationship and then angrily telling her boyfriend to "fuck off" when he confronted Tony over it. Since these stories are told in hindsight, it may just be a sign of maturity on Ducky's end. That being said, Tony is also described as a brawler who would be the first to fight to defend your honor, would go along with plans (no matter how stupid they are), and would share all sorts of stories when they calm down.

* InexplicablyIdenticalIndividuals: Like the Gardai, The Gang From Cork wears the same outfit but later on each member is shown wearing a different colored t-shirt.

* KnowWhenToFoldThem: In ''It WASN'T Grand - Living With The Boys", PJ was the one who caught on to the fact that The Gang From Cork was high on cocaine and was the first to point out that they shouldn't risk fighting them for both that reason and because they were outnumbered 5 to 3.

* TellMeAboutMyFather: Subverted. Unlike most growing up in his position, Ducky has never expressed a desire to learn more about his dad. The only thing he's stated to want to know being if there're any hereditary diseases he should be aware of.

* AntiVillain: They're not really antagonists, just police officers who Ducky and The Boys keep running afoul of. At worst, they jumped to the conclusion that The Boys had cocaine during a party because one of them saw a pile of flour. At best, they're just running on information have at the time and can be reasoned with.

* NoNameGiven: Because of the impact she had on Ducky's life, he absolutely hates her and is so offended by the mere mention of her name that he has to rename her as "Margot Robbie" just to avoid losing his temper while telling stories about her. She's even been called a [[CountryMatters cunt]] by Ducky and his friends.

* PayEvilUntoEvil: She was a serial cheater who was dumped by Ducky after he had kissed another woman during a night out in Cork.

* HateSink: She's the closest thing to a true antagonist in the series, as she was verbally abusive, a serial cheater, and dragged Ducky to an expensive restaurant despite knowing that he couldn't afford it. Ducky hates her so much that he has to rename her in the episodes to avoid seething with anger.

* BaldOfAuthority: Implied, as the older sibling (he's 7 years older than Ducky) he was likely trusted by Ducky's Mammy to look after the family in the patriarch's absence and he was the one who brought Ducky home when the latter got blackout drunk on his fourteenth birthday.

* RevengeIsSweet: Discussed. The act that motivated Ducky to leave his ex was kissing another woman while he was out in Cork with The Boys. However, he didn't enjoy it and was appalled at himself for not feeling any remorse for doing so. His then-girlfriend was a serial cheater and he was in a cycle of breaking up with her and then getting back together with her, which only shattered his self-respect and self-esteem. When retelling this story, Ducky explains that the event was inexcusable and he's accepted it now as a step in breaking up with his ex because he would have become just as bad as her if he chose to stay and keep cheating on her.

* RevengeIsNotJustice: By his own admission, while cheating on his girlfriend by kissing another woman was indeed inexcusable, it's not a black-and-white situation and it is a decision he can justify; his girlfriend at the time had a total of 7 affairs in their 3-year relationship and he was in a painful cycle of breaking up with her and getting back together with her because he had zero confidence in himself. He was angry at his girlfriend for her lack of commitment and chose to kiss another woman out of drunken spite. Unlike his girlfriend, Ducky actually felt remorse because he finally realized the relationship was completely loveless and was disgusted with himself for not feeling bad for cheating on her.
* RevengeIsSweet: After enduring an insanely toxic 3-year relationship with a serial adulterer, Ducky chose to have an affair out of spite. The only thing he regretted was that he didn't feel remorse for doing so and it finally gave him the courage to break the toxic cycle and leave her once and for all.
