The Seven Demon Brothers

    General

A family of demon brothers who each embody one of the seven deadly sins and the main protagonists who befriend and romance the Main Character.

  • Anti-Villain: Despite being demons, none of the brothers, not even Lucifer, have any sort of evil intentions aside from maybe Belphegor, who was something of a villain at the start. And even then, Belphegor drops any sort of villainy he had after befriending the MC.
  • Aww Look They Really Do Love Each Other: Some of the brothers are often constantly at each other's throats, (Lucifer/Mammon, Lucifer/Satan/Belphegor, Mammon/Levi) but there are several instances where it's obvious that no matter how much they bicker and argue, the brothers all love each other dearly. This is especially the case between Lucifer in regards to Mammon and Satan.
  • Badass Family: A given as the Seven Deadly Sins who are undoubtedly some of the strongest demons in existence.
  • Beware the Silly Ones: They're a very flawed, idiosyncratic bunch, but they are still the seven deadly sins and some of the most powerful demons in the Devildom.
  • Crazy Jealous Guy: Each of the brothers are prone to jealousy whenever other characters get close to the MC, but especially Mammon and Levi (a given as the Avatar of Envy), as well as Belphie and Lucifer. Even Beelzebub is not immune to experiencing jealousy. The brothers even get jealous of each other if the MC is spending too much time with one of them, and never hesitate to interrupt any moment to try and get the MC's attention on them instead. Levi even calls himself "The PDA Police" whenever he sees someone (including his brothers) getting close to the MC.
  • Creepy Cute: They take on the appearance of handsome, charming young men and are very cute sometimes, but then the MC is reminded that they are still demons when they cheerfully or casually mention topics like torture, mutilation and death. Of course this can be attributed to their demonic natures rather than any sort of evil intent (most of the time).
  • Crush Blush: The brothers tend to blush during intimate times with the MC, indicating their deep romantic feelings towards them. It's especially evident with Mammon, Levi and surprisingly, Lucifer.
  • Dark Is Not Evil: They are legitimately dangerous beings when angered and many have attempted to even kill the MC a couple of times (Belphie even succeeded one instance) but aside from that, they're not truly malicious at heart.
  • Disappointing Older Sibling: Interestingly, the older brothers (Lucifer, Mammon and Leviathan) are not very highly regarded by the younger brothers. Lucifer inspires more fear than respect and his two younger brothers Satan and Belphegor even devote some of their spare time to inconvenience him. Mammon's scheming ways and penchant for thievery make him the target of all the brother's insults and abuse (especially Lucifer and Levi). Lastly, Levi's otaku hobbies often go misunderstood by his younger brothers and the fact that he's a moody shut-in only earns him condescending remarks from the likes of Satan and Asmo.
  • Dysfunctional Family: The brothers together as a unit are a chaotic hot mess at the start, with mutual fear of Lucifer's wrath being the only thing that held them together. Although they do genuinely love each other, they don't always see eye to eye and are prone to arguing, yelling, threatening and even hurting each other. Lucifer is the closest thing they have to a parental figure and he can come off as a sadistic father figure who uses fear to keep his brothers in line. They gradually become more of a stable unit when they start opening up more together with the help of the MC, whom helps some of the more antagonistic brothers (Lucifer, Satan, Belphegor) come to terms with their own issues little by little.
  • Everyone Has Standards: They might be demons with some semblance of evil in them, but many times they have stated that there are lines they won't cross. One of the best examples being that all the brothers were horrified when Belphegor murders the MC in the first timeline.
    • All the brothers (including Lucifer himself) don't fully trust Solomon and regard him as a 'shady' character, and some also encourage the MC to be wary of him, with even Asmo (the one Solomon has a pact with) mentioning that Solomon has a sneaky streak.
  • Foolish Sibling, Responsible Sibling: Lucifer, the eldest brother, is by far the most responsible of his siblings, while the rest of his brothers have done a lot of foolish things but it's also Zigzagged as even the more foolish siblings can step up to responsibility when they need too
    • In contrast to Lucifer, Mammon, despite being the second oldest, is one of the most foolish of the brothers and he is constantly getting in trouble with Lucifer by raking up high bills and cooking up get-rich-quick schemes. As a result, he gets the least amount of respect from his brothers. However, he can also step up when he has to. Levi and Satan even admit that when it all comes down to it, Mammon is a good big brother.
    • Levi is the third oldest and seemingly more mature than Mammon and makes much more rational decisions than him (unless it's anything that includes anime), but he also gets very little respect from his younger brothers as he is prone to shirking his responsibilities in favor of holing up in his room to watch anime and play games. However, like Mammon, he knows when to get serious for the sake of his younger brothers.
    • Satan is given the title as the fourth oldest despite being born last, but after Lucifer, he is one of the more responsible brothers and the most reliable by far as his brothers often go to him when they need help with academics.
    • Asmo, the third youngest, isn't necessarily a foolish sibling and despite his passion for partying and shopping, he can keep himself under control and is actually somewhat more responsible than his older brothers as he gives Lucifer little to no trouble.
    • Beel is the second youngest and the most emotionally mature, but unfortunately his appetite enables him to make some very irresponsible choices such as eating all the food in the refrigerator and even causing destruction when his appetite gets the best of him.
    • Belphie, the youngest, only seems foolish due to his laziness but he's also very intelligent, good at academics and he's simply too lazy to play a responsible role. Although he does at least try to keep Beel in check.
  • Four-Philosophy Ensemble: Lucifer is The Cynic, Mammon is The Optimist, Satan is The Realist, Asmo and Belphie are Apathetic, and Levi and Beel are Conflicted.
  • Horned Humanoid: Every brother sports a unique set of horns when they shift into their demon forms but maintain a mostly human appearance.
  • Irony: The three oldest brothers are Lucifer, Mammon and Leviathan, one would think they would have the most authority and wisdom as the elder siblings, when in reality they are perhaps the most flawed of the brothers and together, they bicker the most amongst each other. Mammon and Levi inspire very little respect from the younger brothers and then Lucifer invokes more fear than respect. Meanwhile, the younger brothers Satan, Asmodeus, Beelzebub and Belphegor, while they're not without their flaws, can function a lot better together than their big brothers. Their respective chats "Big Brothers" and "No Big Brothers Allowed" further demonstrate this.
    • In the "Big Brothers" chat, most of the messages between Lucifer, Mammon and Levi include them either belittling each other (mainly directed at Mammon) or being outright annoyed with each other (Lucifer in particular is aggravated by both Mammon and Levi's quirks).
    • In the "No Big Brothers Allowed" chat, Satan, Asmodeus, Beelzebub and Belphegor's messages feature them treating each other much more respectfulyl and kinder than their older brothers do with each other, with very few snarky remarks being dished out towards one another.
  • Jerk with a Heart of Gold: They're not without their selfishness and all the brothers (except Mammon and Asmo) have threatened and tried to harm the MC, but they're not truly malevolent beings and they do have a lot love for each other and the MC.
  • Nice, Mean, and In-Between: The eldest brothers are as follows: Levi (Nice; shy but sweet when he opens up), Lucifer (Mean; sadistic and harsh), and Mammon (In-between; rude but protective).
    • The younger brothers as well: Beel (Nice; gentle and the nicest brother overall), Belphegor and Satan (Mean; they're both troublemakers who make up the Anti-Lucifer Club) and Asmo (In-between; narcissistic but harmless).
  • Red Oni, Blue Oni: Quite a few of the dynamics between the brothers are like this:
    • Mammon (impulsive and energetic) is the Red Oni to Lucifer (stern and serious) and Leviathan's (shy and moody) Blue Oni.
    • Asmodeus (upbeat and cheerful) is the Red Oni to Satan's (cynical and lowkey) Blue Oni.
    • Beelzebub (gentle yet openly loving) is the Red Oni to Belphegor's (introverted and aloof) Blue Oni.
  • Sibling Yin-Yang: Alltogether the brothers have their own share of quirks, but at the same time are quite different from each other.
    • Lucifer is the responsible, hardworking and serious eldest brother who commands respect from people while Mammon is an impulsive, carefree delinquent who gets very little respect from anybody.
    • Additionally, Mammon is also a charismatic and confident rogue and Leviathan is a shy, socially awkward Otaku.
    • Levi's introverted personality also makes him a polar opposite to Asmodeus, an outgoing extravert.
    • Satan is a bookworm who prefers peace and quiet, Asmodeus is a party animal who enjoys watching chaos and drama.
    • Beelzebub is a passionate athlete, Belphegor is an aloof lazy bum.
  • Tsundere: Quite a few of the brothers have an aloof, hostile side as well as a sweet and loving side that comes out as they romance the MC. Particularly Mammon, Levi and even Lucifer himself at times.

    Lucifer

"That's too bad. Now behave yourself."
Voiced By: Kazuya Yamashita

The eldest brother and vice president of RAD. He is the Avatar of Pride.

  • Animal Motifs: It's subtler than the others, but he has a peacock feather motif to his demon form.
  • Antagonistic Offspring: One of the most famous examples of this trope in myth, though the catalyst for his rebellion against his father in heaven is a bit different in the game.
  • Badass Longcoat: Lucifer's a fan of this look, as it's featured in his casual, school uniform, and demon outfits.
  • Badass in a Nice Suit: Has both the badassery and the classy fashion sense in spades.
  • Becoming the Mask: His initial affability and politeness toward the protagonist are at first a product of wanting Diavolo's exchange program to go smoothly, and during the retreat, if the MC says they want to be good friends with all of the brothers he outright says that isn't what he wants. However, as the story progresses and the MC helps Lucifer through some unforeseen circumstances, he begins to genuinely care for them.
  • Bewildering Punishment: His punishments of Mammon frequently cross into this territory. A favorite seems to be hanging Mammon upside down for an indeterminate amount of time.
  • Big Brother Instinct: He is quite protective of his younger siblings. Part of the reason why he flipped out over Luke finding the grimoire was because he was afraid of what would happen to his brothers should it fall into the wrong hands.
  • Blue Is Heroic: His Color Motif is blue, but this trope is played with, in that Lucifer's acts of heroism usually come with strings attached, being a demon and all. The few times where there aren't any strings usually means things have hit the fan.
  • Character Song: “Arcadia”
  • Coat Cape: Wears his longcoat in his casual clothes like this.
  • Color Motifs: Blue.
  • The Comically Serious: Even as chaos is happening around him, Lucifer is almost always serious.
  • "Could Have Avoided This!" Plot: If Lucifer had told his brothers the truth about Lilith from the start, the whole plot could have gone in a completely different direction.
  • Dark and Troubled Past: Boy howdy. And it's one he's kept secret for centuries too.
  • Dark Is Not Evil: He's one of the highest-ranking demons, but calling him outright evil is a stretch.
  • Deadpan Snarker: Some of his lines drip with sarcasm, particularly whenever he's interacting with Mammon or Diavolo.
  • Despair Event Horizon: One unbeknownst to his brothers, when he agrees to be Diavolo's right-hand man in order to have a dying Lilith reborn into a human that they can never see again.
  • Fallen Angel: The most famous one in myth, at that.
  • Fade to Black: A mix of this and Sexy Discretion Shot. If you choose to kiss him, it is quite heavily implied that Lucifer and the MC have sex before they return to the human world.
  • The Heavy: To Diavolo.
  • Hidden Depths: He's still deeply wounded by Lilith's death and it's implied this is why he's so protective of his brothers now.
    • As strict as he can be on his brothers, one of his comments on the main screen implies that he frequently over-shops on Akuzon, no different from his younger brother Levi.
  • High-Class Gloves: He apparently has painted nails like his brothers and Diavolo, but they're always covered by black gloves (in his casual and school outfits) or red gloves (in his demon form).
  • Horned Humanoid: Has a pair of large, black, curved horns.
  • Hypocrite: In the Paws and Claws event story, when the brothers start developing animal features, they panic that they might want to eat/hurt MC because of their animal urges (particularly Mammon and Beelzebub, who get turned into a tiger and a lion, respectively). Lucifer, who transforms into a wolf, smugly states that he has more control over himself than his brothers. Pretty rich considering he threatens MC's life twice in the main story for angering him.
  • Hypocritical Humor: In the "Good Night Demon" event story. He orders the protagonist to conduct a sleep study on his brothers, after figuring their bad grades come from a poor sleep schedule. He assigns two brothers at a time, to avoid anyone sleeping alone with the MC, much to the others' chagrin. When they report to him afterward, he tries to get the MC to sleep with him in his own bed, claiming he's not like his brothers, only for the other six to show up and announce that they're there to make sure he doesn't sleep alone with the MC - much to Luci's chagrin.
  • Jerk with a Heart of Gold: He's the Avatar of Pride, the second-most powerful demon in the Devildom and the first of his brothers. He has a wealth of pride in himself and his position and has more than a little prejudice against humans. That being said, it's implied that his strictness comes out of wanting to protect his brothers, and eventually the protagonist as well. He even starts to regard them as part of the family by later chapters.
  • Light Is Not Good: Considering his Meaningful Name below, he can be this, since the "Bringer of Light" is one of the rulers of the Devildom, and right-hand man to the future Demon King.
  • Meaningful Name: "Lucifer" means "bringer of light". In a group chat with the six brothers, it's mentioned that he radiates with light.
  • Muscles Are Meaningless: The few times his chest is exposed it's obvious Lucifer is fairly well-built. However, he's still not as muscular as his younger brother Beel and he's fairly thin as well. He's still the most powerful demon in the Devildom after Diavolo himself.
  • Noble Demon: He's a demon, sure, but Lucifer follows his own code of honor and values regardless of what others think of him about it.
  • Not So Stoic: During the two major times when he loses his composure enough to transform into his true demon form. When he gets angry enough to fly into an Unstoppable Rage, the only things that can stop him are Lord Diavolo and the combined efforts of his brothers.
  • Number Two: He's the number two to Lord Diavolo, which the future Demon King says within the first few scenes of the game. He's frequently accused of putting Diavolo's wants and needs before his brothers.
  • Older Than They Look: Being an angel-turned-demon, he's hundreds of years old.
  • Only Sane Man: He's this when compared to his brothers, being the most sensible and the most strict and rule-abiding of them.
  • Papa Wolf: He's the closest thing the demon brothers have to a father figure, and he behaves as such when he thinks the safety of his brothers is threatened.
  • Parental Favoritism: Averted — despite Simeon and Satan both confirming Mammon is his favourite brother, Lucifer is very hard on him. He does, however, tend to be far more lenient with Beel and Belphie than he is with his other brothers, probably because they're both the youngest and tend not to cause as much trouble when left to their own devices.
  • Pride: Lucifer takes a lot of pride in his position under Diavolo, and tends to look down on humans and his brothers. He rarely accepts help from others, and it's even rarer for him to ask for it, with Satan telling the MC that Lucifer tends to take on problems himself without telling the others, as he believes that there's no issue he can't handle. The first time in the story he asks for help is when he begs Diavolo to save Lilith in a memory the grimoire shows the protagonist.
  • Promotion to Parent: While it can be argued that when the brothers were angels that they weren't technically raised in a normal sense by any sort of parental figure (although they did have the same father), after their fall Lucifer definitely stepped up and took on more of a strict parental figure as opposed to being merely the oldest brother.
  • Red and Black and Evil All Over: He has black hair and wears a red-and-black outfit. The evil part about him can be put into question, though.
  • Red Eyes, Take Warning: He has blood-red eyes and has an ominous air to him. When you first hear sounds coming from the attic, he stops you from going up and threatens to make you go to sleep if you didn't leave willingly.
    • His eyes are black/dark gray in the opening video, however. It's possible that the lighting gives his eyes a reddish glow.
  • The Reveal: Does this during chapters 14 and 15, when he explains why he locked Belphegor in the attic and what really happened to Lilith.
  • Sadist: He takes pleasure in punishing his brothers, and is even called this in his introduction.
  • Sentimental Drunk: One chat shows that after he ends up drunk, he becomes a bit more carefree and honest with his feelings. He even ends the chat with a 'Love you.' to the MC.
  • Seven Deadly Sins: He represents pride.
  • Shared Family Quirks: Lucifer frequently plays the Straight Man to the antics of his younger brothers, but sometimes he falls prey to this trope, especially in the event stories.
  • Sharp-Dressed Man: Lucifer always looks put-together and classy, even in his demon form.
  • Sugar-and-Ice Personality: He's very icy most of the time, being the stern head of the family and it's his job to keep his rowdy brothers in line, but he shows on several occasions he truly does love them and he greatly cares for MC too, he's just not the best at showing it. It's most obvious with Mammom, whom Lucifer often punishes harshly, but Satan and Simeon outright confirm Mammon is and always has been Lucifer's favourite brother.
  • Team Dad: Plays an almost fatherly role trying to keep his brothers in line, especially in front of Diavolo. Mammon even says that Lucifer must be a fan of dad jokes.
  • Teeth-Clenched Teamwork: With Satan, when they try to switch their bodies back.
  • Trademark Favorite Food: Princess’s Poison Apple and occasionally Black Coffee of Melancholy.
  • Tsundere: Subtle but it's there. While he's cold and condescending towards the MC and sometimes downright violent, he loosens up slowly but surely when they grow closer. In fact, the first time he's hugged by the MC he tells them to get off with an indignant blush on his cheeks.
    • He's also like this with Diavolo. Even though he's bewildered by the prince's carefree attitude, Lucifer can't help but drop his guard around him too.
    • Similarly, he's also aloof towards his former brother Simeon, but sometimes Lucifer can show rare instances of gratitude and kindness to the angel even if he tries to shut him out almost immediately afterwards.
  • Unstoppable Rage: When he catches Luke with a grimoire, he is prepared to annihilate the small angel. His anger only grows when he discovers that Beelzebub hid Luke in his room and when you shield both of them from Lucifer. Beelzebub tells you that had Diavolo not stepped in and protected you from Lucifer, you would have most certainly been killed.
    • This also happens when you reveal during a tense moment that you have secretly been associating with Belphegor. The only thing preventing him from tearing you apart is that his brothers show up and manage to distract him.
  • Villain with Good Publicity: Can make a case for this in a meta sense, since Lucifer the notorious fallen angel is one of the good guys (in a manner of speaking) of the game.
  • Well-Intentioned Extremist: His actions regarding Belphegor. His youngest brother greatly opposed Diavolo’s exchange program and vowed to wreck havoc on humanity. In order to keep Belphegor safe from Diavolo’s wrath, he locked Belphie in the attic. When Lucifer tries to explain he was protecting Belphie, he is less than pleased with his brother’s justification.
  • What the Hell, Hero?: He's on both sides of this at different points in the story. He frequently calls out the MC for involving themselves in the brothers' affairs, and can be on the receiving end from his brothers (and possibly the MC) after he reveals what happened to Belphie and Lilith.
  • Winged Humanoid: His four white angel's wings turned black upon his fall to the Devildom.
  • Would Hurt a Child: It's only slightly downplayed due to Luke being more than a 100 years old (and probably even older than that) but he is nonetheless considered a child by angel and demon standards, and Lucifer was more than willing to hurt the poor kid when he finds him with the grimoire and would have done so if not for Beelzebub and the MC.

    Mammon
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/mam_05.png
"Oh, credit card... CREDIT CARD, BABY...! I MISSED YOU SO SO SO MUCH...!"

The second-eldest brother and your assigned caretaker at RAD. He is the Avatar of Greed.

  • All Girls Want Bad Boys: Mammon tries to invoke this trope, but the dorky nature of his character precludes any bad boy image as soon as he opens his mouth.
  • All of the Other Reindeer: Mammon gets picked on the most of the brothers, which most of the time he deserves thanks to his greedy nature and tendency to speak before he thinks. The rest of the time he just seems to be everyone's go-to punching bag.
  • Ambiguously Brown: He's the only one of his brothers with relatively dark skin.
  • Animal Motifs: His wings look somewhat like a bird's skeletal wings, and his council chair appears to have a bird's silhouette.
  • Big Brother Instinct: He often tries to protect his younger brothers and shield them from Lucifer's wrath. One chatlog has Lucifer demanding to know who broke a paintng. Mammon owns up to it and apologises, much to the shock of everyone else. Later, Simeon asks Lucifer why he let Mammon off the hook and Lucifer replies that Belphie's the one who broke the frame by stumbling into it when he was half-asleep and Mammon took the fall, so Lucifer chose not to punish Mammon because he was protecting Belphie.
  • Big Damn Heroes: Subverted, as he wants to be this trope to the MC, to the point where he tells them to die if he can't save them in time, as he wants to be the only one coming to their rescue.
  • Book Dumb: In the Devilgram side story "The Mammon Way", Satan forces Mammon to study by working on mathematical equations, since he's in danger of repeating a year because of his poor grades. Though it could be more a case of just being uninterested in studying, as once Satan tells him to think of the equations as Grimm amounts he starts flying through the problems.
  • Break the Cutie: Briefly, in the second timeline. when he holds a dying MC. Belphegor notes that he's panicking like it's the end of the world, just because a human is dying.
  • Brilliant, but Lazy: Mammon has shown to be very capable and competent when he sets his mind to something. He's not only good at working in retail, but he's also Good with Numbers and has the charisma to draw people towards him. He'd likely be an excellent student and a successful businessman if not for his greed and impatience getting in the way.
  • Butt-Monkey: Mammon being the butt of jokes and the most frequent receiver of Lucifer's punishments is a Running Gag within the game.
  • Cannot Spit It Out: In Chapter 8, he can’t bring himself to properly ask you to dance with him. Satan and Levi tease him over his obvious embarrassment with Levi declaring his brother to be too Tsundere to ask you to dance.
  • Character Development: Though he never sheds his scheming ways, Mammon quickly grows to develop feelings for the MC, which informs more of his kinder side.
  • Character Song: “Are You Ready?”
  • Character Tics: Standing with his hands on his hips.
  • Clear My Name: A more low-key case during the trip to the human world he takes with Satan, Lucifer, and the MC. Three humans accuse him of stabbing Grisella the spirit medium, but he just happened to be in the wrong place at the wrong time, and there was no physical way he could have done it, as Satan points out.
  • Color Motifs: Yellow.
  • Cowardly Lion: Mammon might talk big, but he's often easily spooked by things like ghosts or haunted houses, even if he is one of the most powerful demons in the Devildom. You can even lampshade this by wondering how a demon can be afraid of ghosts.
  • Crazy Jealous Guy: He’s not overly enthusiastic about you being around other guys. He became increasingly more upset with Asmodeus being physically close to you that he started a pillow fight. Earlier than that, he also declared that he wants to be the one who saves you from danger, not anyone else.
  • Crush Blush: Mammon quickly develops feelings for the MC, which become extremely obvious to everyone around him, and he is very prone to blushing whenever it's pointed out. And overall, out of the brothers, Mammon is the most easily flustered whenever he and the MC share a moment together.
  • Cute Little Fangs: Some of the artwork of Mammon, such as him in the opening, depicts him with an adorably sharpened incisor.
  • Deal with the Devil: This trope applies to all of the brothers, but Mammon starts it off by being the first one to make a pact with the protagonist, which he later uses as evidence on why his pact with them is special. He also just keeps calling himself the MC's "first".
  • Dumb Blonde: His hair is white, but he's still not always the sharpest tool in the shed.
  • Endearingly Dorky: Mammon tries to act cool and confident around MC, but he tends to blurt out his real feelings for them before hastily backtracking, blushes when they praise him and occasionally his brother's teasing or insults go over his head or he takes them as compliments instead.
  • Fallen Angel: He used to be an angel until he followed Lucifer's rebellion and fell from grace to the Devildom.
  • Glory Seeker: The guy refers to himself as Mammon-sama (tr. The Great Mammon), and he would prefer it if others viewed him similarly. Especially if that person is the protagonist.
  • Good with Numbers: He easily solves a math problem both Levi and the MC were struggling with, mostly because it was about money.
  • Greed: He cares greatly about making money.
  • The Heart: Not an aspect that is usually acknowledged in-universe, but Mammon is very often the one who notices his brother's emotional needs and attempts to meet them, in spite of how mean they often are to him - he outright says that Beelzebub and Belphie are still struggling with their grief over Lilith, is always the first to tell Lucifer he's being too hard on his brothers and one of the very few characters Lucifer is willing to accept reassurance from. Beelzebub comments in a chatlog with Asmo that things are always lively and exciting when Mammon is around and quiet and still when he isn't and that he has the ability to boost morale in a way none of the others can.
  • Hidden Depths: Underneath the money-grubbing and mouth-running is a demon that genuinely cares for the MC and his brothers, even if he has a somewhat awkward way of showing it. He is the only brother in the story who never loses control of his powers, despite being the most mocked, bullied, and insulted of all of them and the fact that as the second oldest he's actually quite powerful, but he never uses his demonic powers to fight back. This is largely the reason why Lucifer entrusts MC to him at the start of the game, as he knows they will be safe around Mammon.
  • Horned Humanoid: He has a small pair of horns that spiral up from his temples.
  • Hot-Blooded: Mammon is prone to yelling when he's excited or upset, which is pretty often.
  • Idiot Hero: He's one of the main characters and romance options, and he's sometimes quite the idiot.
  • Innocent Blue Eyes: Downplayed given his scheming ways, but Mammon is consistently one of the kinder brothers at heart and can be especially sweet to the MC.
  • Jerk with a Heart of Gold: He's initially bothered by being assigned to you and forming a reluctant pact with you. However, he does grow to care about you and becomes protective of you.
  • Keet: Surprisingly enough, he has these moments. Usually accompanied by a Crush Blush and tsundere attitude, though as soon as the MC shows him affection, or it's even implied that they like him, the guy turns into a puddle of giddy happiness. Not to mention he's energetic, loud, and associated with the color yellow to boot.
  • Kind Hearted Cat Lover: A few chatlogs confirm Mammon likes cats and one of the audio dramas has Satan accidentally transform himself into a cat, only to be found by Mammon... who promptly starts gushing over how cute he is, making cat puns and speaking to him in Baby Talk.
  • Large Ham: "The Great Mammon" is prone to talking about how awesome he is, second only to Asmo, and he can get very overt and hammy.
  • Mammon: Mammon is the Avatar of Greed and the second oldest of the demon brothers.
  • Men Can't Keep House: Leviathan mentioned that his room is very messy, with the floor not being picked up in months.
  • Mr. Fanservice: His muscular chest is exposed in his demon outfit. In one of the group chats, he can take a picture of his biceps if you say you like ripped bodies.
  • No Indoor Voice: Mammon tends to talk, and he tends to talk loud. This is only one of the things Lucifer is constantly having to get on his case about.
  • Oh, Crap!: Frequently has this reaction whenever he incurs Lucifer's anger, which is often.
  • Older Than They Look: Being an angel-turned-demon, he's hundreds of years old. On his trip to the human world, he can be offended by you saying he needs to be of age to drink beer, stating that he’s over 5,000 years old.
  • Opaque Lenses: He wears a pair of yellow-tinted sunglasses in his casual outfit. Since it's never mentioned that he needs glasses, and he's seen without them in his school uniform and demon form, it's likely he only wears them for Rule of Cool.
  • Open Mouth, Insert Foot: Mammon has an incredible tendency to speak before he thinks, and it never ends up going well for him, especially where Lucifer is concerned.
  • Phrase Catcher: His brothers like to call him a "scumbag".
  • Purely Aesthetic Glasses: Knowing Mammon, his sunglasses are only to keep up his attempted bad boy image, especially considering the Devildom is always dark.
  • Saying Too Much: Mammon gets himself in trouble most often by saying way more than he should. See Open Mouth, Insert Foot above.
  • Seven Deadly Sins: Mammon represents greed, and he's always either trying to make a quick buck by scamming people, or to buy the most expensive thing in front of him, usually with someone else's money.
  • Shirtless Scene: Whenever he's in his true form, as his entire chest and stomach are exposed.
  • Single-Target Sexuality: He only ever shows romantic interest in the MC.
  • Sir Swears-a-Lot: He has the biggest potty mouth of his brothers, though it's most often just him saying "dammit." Unless Asmodeus gets too friendly with the MC, at which point expect lots of emoji censorship.
  • Sleeps in the Nude: In one of the chats, he states that he sleeps in the nude.
  • Trademark Favorite Food: Instant Noodles (Hell-Sauce Flavor).
  • Tsundere: Type A. He's rude, aloof, and reluctant to be around you at first, but he gradually becomes sweet and gets flustered when he shows his softer side to you. He sometimes blames the pact on how he behaves around you instead of admitting that he cares about you. He even calls himself one in his character song. Whenever you return to the game, he can potentially give you this greeting:
“It’s not like I’ve been waitin’ around for ya or anything... Seriously, I wasn’t!”
  • Verbal Tic: He sometimes growls when irritated or when his brothers are getting a bit too close to MC for his liking.
  • Vitriolic Best Buds: Develops this relationship with the protagonist after making a pact.
  • White Hair, Black Heart: Subverted. He has white hair, but it doesn't reflect any dark nature within him.
  • Winged Humanoid: His wings resemble a giant skeletal corvid's wings that sprout from his lower back.

    Leviathan

"Henry, I talked to a human stranger today!"
Voiced By: Satoshi Kada

The third-eldest brother and a shut-in otaku. He is the Avatar of Envy.

  • Animal Motifs: Snakes. He used to have a pet snake, and his tail appears to be a snake's as well.
  • Berserk Button: Don't claim to know more about TSL than he does. Or treat his beloved figurines poorly, or really do anything that might make him fly into a jealous rage.
  • Big Brother Instinct: Levi might not be the most confident elder brother, but he nonetheless demonstrates a rather protective side for his younger brothers, particularly Asmo and Beelzebub at different points in the story, events and Devilgrams.
  • Big Little Brother: Extremely downplayed, but on replay, when Mammon and Levi's sprites are seen together, Levi is shown to be just slightly taller than Mammon, his older brother. Personality wise, neither Mammon or Levi are well-adjusted, but Levi at least knows how to stay out of trouble more than Mammon does and never hesitates to call him out on his greedy ways.
  • Buttmonkey: Downplayed, but he's the second most insulted brother after Mammon. When the other brothers don't pick on Mammon, they target Levi by poking fun at his lack of athleticism and consider him annoying because of his overzealousness when it comes to anything anime or gaming related.
  • Character Catchphrase: He exclaims "Otsu~!" a lot, which is Japanese internet slang short for otsukare.
  • Character Development: Levi comes out of his shell a lot more as the story progresses, and warms up considerably to the MC as well.
  • Character Song: “My Chance!”
  • Cloudcuckoolander: His tangents and comparisons to otaku culture can come across as this, usually lampshaded by one of his brothers pointing out he has no idea what Levi is talking about.
  • Color Motifs: Orange.
  • Commonality Connection: If you play the MC as a Gamer Chick, their texts messages can have them bonding with Levi like this.
  • Cool Big Bro: Despite how timid and awkward he is for one of the eldest's, many lessons and devilgrams show that he's the most approachable of the big brothers and he spends a lot more time with his younger brothers than Lucifer and Mammon do and is on good terms with each of them in different ways. He gets along very well with Satan as they both have similar interests, and he's quite close to Beelzebub as he never judges Levi's behavior and likes to come around to hang out with him. Levi is also more than happy to play video games with Belphegor and while he and Asmodeus' interests don't match up, they still get along pretty well and Asmo at the very least treats Levi with more respect than he does Mammon.
  • Covert Pervert: He comes off as a shy fellow, but it's also confirmed that Levi has more than a few kinks. He particularly enjoys being degraded, especially if it's from the MC as seen in the Happy Devil Day event where the MC becomes a sadist.
  • Deal with the Devil: All of the brothers, Leviathan included, make pacts with the protagonist, but Levi is the one to first suggest the idea to them, in the hopes that making a pact with Mammon will force Mammon to give him the money he borrowed...200 years ago.
  • Disproportionate Retribution: He gets upset enough to turn into his true demonic form, and would've killed or seriously hurt the MC all because they won a TSL competition against him. He is envy incarnate after all.
  • Driven by Envy: He gets jealous of people having something that he wants. When you are going up against him in a TSL competition, Beelzebub tells you that you can get him to lose by working him into a jealous fit.
  • Fallen Angel: He used to be an angel until he followed Lucifer's rebellion and fell from grace to the Devildom.
  • Giver of Lame Names: He named both of his pets Henry, after the protagonist of his favorite anime, TSL. He had a pet snake before the goldfish, and they are named "Henry 1.0" and "Henry 2.0" respectively.
  • Green-Eyed Monster: Being the Avatar of Envy, the one surefire way to get him worked up is to make him jealous by having something that he wants.
  • Hates Being Touched: A couple of dialogue options indicate that Levi dislikes being touched or hugged, but he does make an exception for the MC. One Hard lesson even has him declare that only the MC has permission to touch and hug him.
  • Headphones Equal Isolation: He wears a pair of yellow and blue neon headphones around his neck and he spends a lot of time alone in his room gaming and watching anime.
  • Heroic Self-Deprecation: When he's not proud of being an otaku he comes off as this. He believes that he's looked down upon by the others for being an otaku, and he's surprised if you select him in Majolish, an app he worries wouldn't accept someone like him.
  • Hikikomori: Based on his text conversations, he seems to stay at home a lot despite being a student at RAD. In one conversation, he will ask if you're going to school and will end it with him wanting you to hurry back so he can co-op dungeons with you.
  • Horned Humanoid: Levi's horns are small and branch-like, curving above his head.
  • Hypocritical Humor: He calls himself a "yucky Otaku" yet he nearly killed the MC for being more otaku than he is.
  • I Just Want to Have Friends: A lot of his early antagonism comes from his lack of social expertise mixed with his desire to have friends. Getting to know him and raising his intimacy can help break him out of his shell as he grows to genuinely care for the protagonist.
  • Innocently Insensitive: Downplayed. He tends to get very excited whenever it comes to events with his favorite anime or games and often gets so absorbed into his hobbies that he becomes very gung-ho and a little overzealous about whatever it is he's raving about whether it's an anime or a game. His brothers call him out on this and top it all by calling him annoying, but it's clear that Levi really doesn't mean to get on his brother's nerves and is genuinely shocked and hurt when they tell him so.
    • One episode of the anime even features this trait in full length where Leviathan holds a viewing party of a new Ruri-chan movie in his room, much to his excitement. However, rather than letting everyone sit back and enjoy the film, he simply can't help but pause at many points in said film and cheerfully info-dump little facts about the movie's production and development to everybody, which unfortunately leads to the party eventually sneaking out when they realize he isn't going to stop anytime soon.
  • In-Series Nickname: Mammon says that "Leviathan" can be kind of hard to pronounce, and most characters do call him Levi instead.
  • Irony: He's the Avatar of Envy, but his signature color is orange, not green.
  • Large Ham: To cringe-y otaku levels, especially when he talks in Internet lingo outside of the Internet.
    Leviathan: ROFLMAO! loooooooooooooooooooooooooool!
Asmodeus: Right... I have absolutely no idea what you're saying! But clearly you don't see this as a threat... Got it!
  • Living Emotional Crutch: His pet goldfish, Henry. At least until he becomes friends with the MC.
  • Loners Are Freaks: He invokes this on himself, claiming that a loner like him is 'yucky' and unlikeable because of his poor social skills, and while his brothers don't always understand his hobbies they never actually shun him for it. And then Levi himself is a pretty decent person with reasonable, if sometimes perverted, interests.
  • Middle Child Syndrome: Levi is often insecure that he is unremarkable in comparison to his brothers, considering himself a hopeless shut-in and often expresses awe and jealousy towards his more socially-adept siblings, Lucifer and Beel in particular.
  • Nice Guy: He generally hates interacting with people and is openly jealous of people with better social skills, but at heart he's a pretty decent, kind person overall and over the course he learns to show this friendlier, enthusiastic side when he starts to open up to others.
  • No Social Skills: Before the MC arrived, his closest friend is his pet goldfish. Being a Hikikomori precluded much interaction with the outside world, and he sees the MC as his one true friend as a result.
  • Older Than They Look: Being an angel-turned-demon, he's hundreds of years old.
  • Otaku: He is a huge fan of anime series like The Tale of the Seven Lords, collects anime figurines, and plays games.
  • The Power of Friendship: The friendship between the Lord of Shadows and the protagonist, Henry, in Tale of the Seven Lords is one of his favorite parts of the story. Similarly, invoking this trope is what gets him to forgive you after it's revealed the pacts were made to help free Belphie.
  • Running Gag: The titles of the anime he watches have overly-long titles that sometimes take up two whole text boxes!
    • Also, summoning Lotan when he gets angry enough, often resulting in a massive flood that damages the House of Lamentation.
  • Shrinking Violet: Despite his moodiness, Levi is actually very shy, insecure and anxious, especially around other people that aren't his brothers. And he actually has violet-colored hair too.
  • The Slacker: He will sometimes skip classes at RAD to play a new game, or watch a new DVD.
  • Socially Awkward Hero: He's the brother with the most social anxiety, and one of the main characters.
  • Sugar-and-Ice Personality: He's pretty reserved and cold to most people, but he can be really sweet once you get him to open up.
  • Sweet Tooth: Some of his preferred foods in his "Surprise Guest" interactions include sweet items like cupcakes and candy.
  • Trademark Favorite Food: Spicy Rainbow Pizza.
  • Troll: He can act like this sometimes, befitting since he's an otaku shut-in with an Internet connection and a tendency to rant and rave in his reviews online.
  • Tsundere: Not as overt as Mammon is about it, but he'll deny he likes the player while insisting they spend more time with him and blushes profusely when petted during Surprise Guest. During your conversation with him in 4-6, he gets embarrassed if you tell him that you want to be friends with him despite the tension between you two.

    Satan

"I'm just your average guy, don't you think?"
Voiced By: Shinya Sumi

The fourth-eldest brother who is serious, calm, and likes to read, which belies his status as the Avatar of Wrath.

  • Animal Motifs: It's not as noticeable in his demon form, but Satan has a surprising affinity with cats. Several of his text messages involve them, and in the Devilgram side story "Why Do People Like Cats?" his brothers all note how catlike he is, with going off alone often, meeting new people along the way, expanding his territory, and showing up in odd places when you least expect it.
    • He also appears to have the unicorn as his associated animal. His tail looks like a bony horse's tail wrapped around his leg.
  • Bookworm: He likes to read and has a large collection of books in his room. An item you can give him in his "Surprise Guest" interactions can be a book or manga.
  • Born as an Adult: One of the UR+ cards reveals that when Lucifer lost two of his wings during his fall from grace, Satan was created shortly afterwards as a fully grown young man but with nothing but anger and disdain towards everyone around him as Nightbringer reveals.
  • Character Development: Satan's gets more of it than most of his brothers, with an entire two chapters of the main story dedicated to mending his relationship with Lucifer, which in turn makes him a calmer and more composed person accepting of his and Lucifer's flaws, as well as beginning to see humans in a different light thanks to the protagonist's actions. This could partly explain his relative popularity in the fandom.
    • In Nightbringer, the MC gets to see a much angrier, far more unstable and distant Satan who despised his brothers, in contrast to the calm, albeit still temperamental demon he is in the present, which indicates that Satan had to learn over the course of centuries to manage his anger and eventually start seeing his brothers as his family.
  • Character Song: “Read My Heart”
  • Character Tics: He never wears jackets correctly and has one arm out of the sleeve at all times.
  • Color Motifs: Green.
  • Commonality Connection: He shares a dislike/resentment of Lucifer with Belphie and the two of them often dedicate a lot of their spare time to finding ways to annoy or inconvenience him.
  • Cultured Badass: He's well-read and knowledgeable about a lot of topics, and he's definitely badass to boot.
  • Cuteness Proximity: The guy just can't help but fawn over the cuteness of cats whenever the subject comes up and is often see marveling and gushing over cats at many different points.
  • Dem Bones: In his demon form his tie is knotted in a very elaborate fashion that gives the impression of an exposed ribcage, even wrapping around his waist in some places.
  • Dumb Blonde: Inverted. He's blonde but brilliant, being one of the most well-read and intelligent of the brothers, as well as one of the most well-rounded.
  • Great Detective: He tries to be this during the murder mystery in the human world, emulating characters from one of his favorite human world detective dramas.
  • Horned Humanoid: His S-shaped horns curve away from his head.
  • Hot-Blooded: He may not seem like it at first, but he isn't called the Avatar of Wrath for nothing. When he gets pushed to it, he can unleash his rage all with a chilling smile on his face.
  • I Just Want to Be Special: His rebellious attitude toward Lucifer can be read like this, especially considering he was the only brother born directly from emotions that Lucifer felt, and therefore resents that he's the one most compared to their brother.
  • Inferiority Superiority Complex: His resentment of Lucifer seems to be at least partially based in this. Being born directly from Lucifer's wrath against their father, he's often compared the most to Lucifer, and his fear and annoyance that he might be seen as a lesser version of his brother, and that he owes his existence to Lucifer and a dark period that created him, makes him put on a superior and rebellious front.
  • Intelligence Equals Isolation: Being the most bookish and the most likely to spend time on his own, next to Levi, Satan isolates himself quite often, being content to go places by himself. Incidentally, this is how he has connections with so many different people.
  • Introverted Cat Person: There are a couple side stories and text messages that involve him with cats, his brothers compare his mannerisms to that of a cat's, and he is generally perfectly fine by himself with his books and a cup of tea.
  • Jerk with a Heart of Gold: He's pretty aloof and prejudiced against humans when first met, but he warms up to the MC over the course of switching bodies with Lucifer since they help him return to normal as well as realize that Satan doesn't have to constantly live in Lucifer's shadow and he can be his own person.
  • Mythology Gag: Some people believe that Satan and Lucifer are the same being, Satan being Lucifer's form after he was cast into hell. It makes sense, then, that here Satan is the brother with the closest ties to Lucifer.
  • Not So Above It All: Satan would like to think of himself as one of the more mature and level-headed brothers (and he kind of is) but he can be just as quirky as his brothers and isn't always shy to pal around with them.
  • Older Than They Look: Being an angel-turned-demon, he's hundreds of years old.
  • Only Sane Man: He has his quirks just like his brothers, but he's often the one lamenting his brothers' actions the most, after only Lucifer. This was probably intentional, given the direct relationship between the two.
  • The Reliable One: In Season 3, the MC along with Mammon and Simeon recruit Satan to fill in for Luke at their new cafe The Angel's Halo because they all agree that Satan is pretty much the most reliable of the brothers to take care of tasks. This is because Satan, for the most part, doesn't let his quirks get the better of him in comparison to the rest of his brothers due to them being too inapproachable (Lucifer), easily distracted (Levi, Asmodeus, Beel) or unmotivated (Belphie) to do the work properly.
  • The Resenter: Toward Lucifer, due to being born directly from Lucifer's wrath at their father, and therefore he feels his existence is chained to Lucifer.
  • Satan Is Good: Well, "good" is debatable, but he is one of the main characters, a romance option, and generally a pretty good guy as long as Lucifer isn't involved.
  • Scarf of Asskicking: He's one of the top greater demons in the Devildom, and in his demon form he inexplicably wears a feather boa.
  • Seven Deadly Sins: Represents wrath.
  • Skeleton Motif: His demon form's outfit invokes this.
  • The Social Expert: A low-key example. A side story reveals that even though he often disappears by himself, it's usually to try new things and go to different events wherein he meets a slew of demons with varying talents and backgrounds. For someone who likes to be alone so much, Satan has a surprising number of connections.
  • Stepford Smiler: Invokes this trope with his character profile stating he's a cynical man that believes all smiles are fake.
  • The Stoic: When he's not in the midst of an Unstoppable Rage he's most often comfortable alone with a good book and prefers the company of cats, with whom he seems to have an affinity for.
  • Tantrum Throwing: While he can generally keep his composure, as the Avatar of Wrath, he's prone to losing his cool in the form of a major temper tantrum. The first time he loses it when the MC refuses to make a pact with him purely to spite Lucifer, and later lashes out at a restaurant when hit in the face with pancakes. Thankfully he never really causes any serious damage but his brothers are often wary of him whenever he gets angry.
  • Teeth-Clenched Teamwork: With Lucifer due to their history of being at each other’s throats all the time, when they try to switch their bodies back.
  • Trademark Favorite Food: Red x Red Apple Pie
  • The Trickster: Usually only as a means to make life more difficult for Lucifer, at least until he's reformed.
  • Tsundere: Not as overtly as Mammon, but he has shades of this in regards to the MC. As time goes on he's significantly become gentler to the MC but is still somewhat prickly towards Lucifer.
  • Unstoppable Rage: Obviously, considering who he is. It's slightly downplayed though, surprisingly, as he only gives into his wrath when provoked. Then you should take cover.
  • Wolf in Sheep's Clothing: He acts fairly polite and reserved for the most part, but as the Avatar of Wrath, his anger is sudden and explosive when provoked.
  • You Are Better Than You Think You Are: Is on the receiving end of this from the MC, who encourages him to step out from Lucifer's shadow and the circumstances surrounding his birth.

    Asmodeus

"I look dazzling today as well, don't I?"
Voiced By: Ayme Miura

The fifth-eldest brother and the Avatar of Lust, and therefore quite the narcissist.

  • Ambiguously Bi: Being the Avatar of Lust means he's likely to be attracted to someone that catches his attention, regardless of gender. He even comments on the physiques of his own brothers at times.
  • Animal Motifs: His demon form makes it look like he has a scorpion encircling his torso, and his chair depicts a scorpion.
  • Attention Whore: If the chat conversation where the brothers discuss starting a band and Asmodeus demanding to be the lead singer is any indication. In fact, the entire idea was his for this reason to begin with.
  • Beware the Nice Ones: While 'nice' is a bit of a stretch, Asmodeus is generally quite civil and rarely loses his temper and gets angry, and like Mammon, has yet to lose control and turn violent towards anyone. However, his angry chibi image during the Dance Battles implies that when he is genuinely angry, it's not a pretty sight as his chibi image features him breaking his phone by merely crushing it with his bare hand in a rage. In fact, he and Satan are the only ones with angry looking chibi's whenever the player loses a Dance Battle.
  • Big Brother Worship: As revealed in Asmo's UR Card "That Special Someone", he confesses that other than himself, he admires his big brother Lucifer the most, particularly during their days in the Celestial Realm as his charisma and strong personality drew Asmo to him. Even in the present day, Asmo still has a lot of respect for Lucifer and is very open about his affection for him compared to the other brothers, who either fear him (Mammon and Levi) or dislike him (Satan and Belphegor).
  • Camp: Definitely the campiest member of the cast, probably in accordance with his lust and mentality.
  • The Casanova: Asmodeus is all about satisfying his appetites and desires, including physical ones. It's also implied that he has had many flings with humans, demons and witches.
  • Character Song: “Pomade”
  • Character Tics: Holding both hands up to his shoulders with his palms spread, especially when surprised about something.
  • Chick Magnet: Of course, Asmo's escapades are almost always Played for Laughs.
  • Color Motifs: Pink.
  • "Do It Yourself" Theme Tune: His voice actor sings the opening theme.
    • He as well sings the official music video.
  • Fallen Angel: He used to be an angel until he followed Lucifer's rebellion and fell from grace to the Devildom.
  • Green-Eyed Monster: He often insults Lucifer and Mammon along with Satan and Levi, respectively, and it's strongly implied it's due to jealousy - Lucifer because everyone refers to him as the most beautiful angel in heaven before he became a demon and Mammon because he's a highly in-demand supermodel. For Asmo, who prides himself on his looks, it is likely a desire to be the only one who gets praised for his beauty.
  • Hidden Depths: For all his narcissism and sexuality, he sometimes shows some surprising insight when things go south.
    • Much like Mammon, Asmo never loses control or tries to lash out at the MC for any reason. While he does make a subtle, if graphic and violent threat towards them in the beginning, he never acts on it and has yet to actually attempt to intentionally harm anybody.
  • Horned Humanoid: He has thin ridged horns with pink tips.
  • Hypnotic Eyes: If someone looks into his eyes, he has the ability to control them into doing whatever he wants. If the player chooses to look into his eyes in the prologue, he discovers that his ability doesn't work for some reason.
  • I Just Want to Be Loved: It's implied by Simeon that Asmo is always trying to maintain his status as "jewel of the heavens" adored by all, whether he's angel or demon.
  • In Touch with His Feminine Side: Asmo is the brother with the most feminine interests such as skincare, shopping and fashion.
  • It's All About Me: Loves himself first and foremost, but unlike most examples, Asmodeus's vanity is pretty harmless.
  • Jerk with a Heart of Gold: Downplayed. He's more of an egoist than a full-blown jerk, but he's also arguably the least violent and aggressive of the brothers. Also, despite dismissing the MC at first, he quickly becomes more outspoken about his love for them. Overall, Asmodeus does mean well most of the time.
  • Kick the Dog: While all of the brothers (except for Beel) insult Mammon regularly, Asmo outright tells Mammon to kill himself to spare the others the embarrassment of having such a loser of an older brother during the pillowfight chapter.
    • In Lesson 7, when the MC, the brothers, Diavolo, Barbatos and the angels find a portrait of a witch named Helene, it's revealed that Asmo seduced her, which not only caused a war in her country, but also made her a pariah and led to her being sealed in the portrait. Her spirit is rightfully angry with him and lashes out at him, but Asmo shows no remorse and even had the audacity to even flirt with her despite being responsible for her fate. It's to the point where the MC and his brothers call him out on his callousness, but it unfortunately goes over his head.
  • Ladykiller in Love: Asmo isn't ever seen chasing after girls but he does bring up the thought of going to meet and part with some. However, he genuinely falls in love with the MC and as a result he is much more tender in his attempts to romance them even if he does still come off a little risqué and suggestive.
  • Large Ham: He'll often text the MC being this either about some new product he's bought, his skincare routine, or falling to pieces over being worried his looks are suffering.
  • Long-Haired Pretty Boy: While not overtly, his hair falls around his face and he also fits the pretty boy image to a T.
  • Lovable Sex Maniac: Zigzags between this and Handsome Lech.
  • Middle Child Syndrome: It's more subtle than with Levi, but Asmo is quite the Attention Whore and tries to redirect conversations to be about him or how beautiful he is. It's strongly implied he does this to stand out from his siblings and he can be quite petty and childish when he feels outshined or ignored.
  • Muscles Are Meaningless: His being one of the most powerful greater demons in the Devildom is proof that demonic strength has nothing to do with build, since he's thin to the point of being lithe.
  • Narcissist: Befitting the Avatar of Lust, he's very taken with himself. He knows he's pretty, and agreeing with him is the quickest way to get on his good side.
  • Older Than They Look: Being an angel-turned-demon, he's hundreds of years old.
  • Out of Focus: Out of the seven brothers, Asmo gets hit with this the hardest, not really impacting the story all that much and staying mostly pretty static. He generally stands on the sidelines and provides commentary about what's going on.
  • Pink Means Feminine: His associated color is pink, and he's the cast member the most In Touch with His Feminine Side. Mixed with Pink Is Erotic because of his sexual themes.
  • Please, Don't Leave Me: He almost says this word for word to the MC on their last day at the Devildom while he's tearfully drunk. It's a rather tender and vulnerable moment for someone as vain and haughty as Asmo.
  • Psychic Powers: He has the ability to charm people (and giant serpents) who look into his eyes. Lucifer explains that it's a more powerful version of the ability all demons have to hypnotize humans, and that the MC appears to be immune to Asmo's power.
  • Really Gets Around: Implied, being the Avatar of Lust, Asmo has mentioned that he has met many humans and demons and can charm just about any living creature (save the MC).
  • Sentimental Drunk: Similar to his big brother Lucifer, Asmo can get sentimental and much more emotional when drunk. After losing a drinking contest to the MC (because the MC is immune to Demonus), he suddenly becomes weepy and affectionate, even begging the MC to stay in the Devildom with him.
  • Trademark Favorite Food: Wicked cupcakes.
  • What the Hell, Hero?: When Beel and the protagonist return to the House of Lamentation they first run into Asmo, who chastises Beel for failing to apologize to the rest of them before finding Lucifer.
  • Wholesome Crossdresser: Downplayed. During a chat conversation about RAD's Spirit Week he excitedly exclaims that the Wedding Day theme is all about wearing cute dresses, but there is yet to be an actual instance of him crossdressing.
    • However this is finally played straight in the Like a Dame event where we see him crossdressing on "The Legendary Dame" card.
  • Winged Humanoid: Asmo has two pairs of small bat-like wings protruding from his shoulder blades.

    Beelzebub
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/bee_05.png
"...So, can I eat now?"
Voiced By: Kyohei Yaguchi

The sixth-eldest and Belphegor's twin brother. He is physically the most intimidating of them, despite being the Avatar of Gluttony.

  • Always Identical Twins: Averted. He and Belphie look nothing alike despite being twins - the only feature they have in common is their eye color. He explains this is because they just happened to be created at the same time, but they don't share genes like humans do.
  • Animal Motifs: He has a fly's wings in his demon form, and his counterpart in Tale of the Seven Lords is called the Lord of Flies, which is another name for Beelzebub.
  • Berserk Button: Do not eat his food. When he thought Mammon ate his custard, he transformed into his demon form and destroyed the kitchen and your room.
  • Big Brother Instinct: He's the most protective of Belphie, and he was the same with his younger sister Lilith. You can even net support points with Beel by saying positive things about his twin.
  • Big Eater: As the Avatar of Gluttony, he is constantly looking for something to eat.
  • The Big Guy: Generally plays this role out of the brothers, since he's one of the tallest and the most well-built of them all. It's also implied Beel is extremely strong - when he sends a chat asking MC what to do when the tab broke on a can of food he wanted to eat, MC can ask him why he doesn't just tear it open with his bare hands and Beel's only reaction is to express surprise he didn't think of it himself.
  • Big Little Brother: He’s significantly taller than four of his older brothers. The only one he is roughly the same height as is Lucifer and he's still bulkier than him.
  • Calling the Old Man Out: Lucifer's his older brother, but this trope is played otherwise straight when Beel lashes out at Lucifer for lying to them and keeping Belphegor's imprisonment a secret.
  • Character Catchphrase: "I'm hungry..."
  • Character Song: “Hungry Six-Pack”
  • Character Tics: Holding his wrist.
  • Color Motifs: Red.
  • Cute Little Fangs: Usually seen in artwork depicting him trying to eat something.
  • Declaration of Protection: After leaving the House of Lamentation after finding out about Lucifer, Beelzebub promises to protect the MC from him.
  • Despair Event Horizon: Happened before the story proper. When he was forced to choose which sibling to save, his twin brother Belphegor or his beloved younger sister Lilith, he chose Belphie on impulse and has felt guilt over it ever since. Other than his telling the MC about his nightmares over it, he's remarkably well-adjusted otherwise.
  • The Dog Bites Back: He's Lucifer's most loyal younger brother until Lucifer crossed the line later in the story. Then Beel doesn't hesitate to give Lucifer a piece of his mind before walking out. The two come to blows but despite Beel's status as The Big Guy, Lucifer is still a more powerful demon overall.
  • Dumb Muscle: He's very muscular, but while he's not dumb really, he can get a one-track mind when food is involved. He can be surprisingly insightful when he's sufficiently focused on the matter at hand.
  • Edgy Backwards Chair-Sitting: In one of his card portraits.
  • Establishing Character Moment: When he is first introduced in the beginning of the story, he complains about how hungry he is. No guesses as to which sin he represents.
  • Extreme Omnivore: It's been implied by other characters that he has eaten non-food items before and he takes a bite out of a pillow during a pillow fight because it looked like a marshmallow.
  • Everyone Has Standards: He may be the Avatar of Gluttony, but even Beel would never think of eating Solomon's cooking.
  • Face of a Thug: Very downplayed, but because of his tall, imposing figure, his athleticism and the fact that he doesn't emote as much as his brothers do, Beel only looks intimidating but he's actually the nicest, gentlest brother (unless he's really hungry of course).
  • Fallen Angel: He used to be an angel until he followed Lucifer's rebellion and fell from grace to the Devildom.
  • Fiery Redhead: Subverted for the most part. He has bright orange hair, but he's mostly mellow. Should you do anything to upset him like eat his food, he will get upset and cause colossal destruction.
  • Freudian Excuse: His constant eating is strongly implied to be a result of Lilith's death, with Beel stating he always feels empty so he keeps eating to try and fill the void. When he briefly switches bodies with Asmo he's surprised to find that for once he isn't hungry.
  • Gameplay and Story Segregation: Despite Beel being willing to eat anything in the story, he only likes some food items at the end of dance battles.
  • Gentle Giant: Despite being very muscular and tall, generally Beelzebub is pretty calm and nice and one of the few demons who doesn't look down on the MC for being a human. Just don't steal his food.
  • Hell-Bent for Leather: Appears to wear a studded leather jacket in his true form. Paired with his cowboy boots and large belt buckle, his overall appearance is reminiscent of a Badass Biker.
  • Horned Humanoid: Has a pair of crescent-shaped horns curving around his head in his demon form.
  • Hunk: Out of the seven brothers, Beel fits into this trope the most, being incredibly well-built, tall and handsome.
  • It's All My Fault: Believes this in regard to Lilith's death, as he didn't choose to save her instead.
  • Mr. Exposition: He's the first one to tell the MC about Belphegor and Lilith, and what happened to them all during the Great Celestial War.
  • Mr. Fanservice: In the artwork that displays his toned abdomen, as well as the text chats asking the MC to spot him while working out.
  • Muscles Are Meaningful: He's the most toned of the boys, and despite not being the most powerful demon he's plenty powerful in his physicality alone. This is somehow in defiance of his eating habits.
  • My Greatest Failure: His failure in saving Lilith is this to him.
  • Nice Guy: Beel is more or less the nicest of his brothers, and one of the nicest demons in the game. He opens up to and gets along with the protagonist fairly quickly in comparison to everyone else and he's the only one of the brothers who doesn't constantly insult Mammon.
  • Older Than They Look: Being an angel-turned-demon, he's hundreds of years old.
  • Only Sane Man: His obsession with food aside, Beelzebub is by far one of the more level-headed of the brothers and tends to lampshade it when they're being particularly ridiculous, especially Mammon, Levi and Asmo.
  • Real Men Eat Meat: His favorite food is a cheeseburger, and he's the most classically masculine character of the cast, though he does eat non-meat foods (and some non-food foods) too.
  • Screw This, I'm Outta Here: He pulls this in the aftermath of his fight against Lucifer, bringing the MC and Belphegor along with him. It doesn't last very long though.
  • Seven Deadly Sins: He represents gluttony.
  • The Stoic: He doesn't emote as much as his brothers do, but don't let this fool you, Beel is actually quite the sweetheart.
  • Survivor Guilt: Has this in regards to his younger sister Lilith.
  • Trademark Favorite Food: Human world cheeseburgers are his favorite consistently...though Beel doesn't turn down any food.
  • Unstoppable Rage: Mammon really should have known better than to eat his food. Happens again when he finds out that Lucifer locked up Belphegor and lied about where he was.
  • Winged Humanoid: He has a fly's wings in his true form.

    Belphegor
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/bel_05.png
"I've wanted to see you for so long, my brothers..."
Voiced By: Satoshi Onishi

The youngest of the brothers and the Avatar of Sloth, he seems to be rebelling against Lucifer. His twin brother is Beelzebub.

  • Always Identical Twins: Averted. He and Beel look nothing alike (besides having the same eye color) despite being twins.
  • Animal Motifs: Very clearly associated with steer, with his tail and cow-spotted demon outfit, and it even comes equipped with a horseshoe accessory.
  • Berserk Button: In the card "Unspoken Feelings", Belphegor is outraged when Diavolo proposes the human world exchange project and lashes out at his brothers when they call him the youngest. He clarifies to Beel the reason he was upset was because it seemed to him like everyone had forgotten about Lilith, the actual youngest member of the family, and don't seem to care about her death anymore if they're willing to have a human around. Beel reassures him that none of them will ever forget about Lilith.
  • Big Brother Instinct: When she was still alive, Belphegor was quite protective of his little sister Lilith.
  • Big Brother Worship: Played straight at first, but later inverted. Despite his current hatred for him, Belphegor seemed to admire Lucifer dearly when they were in the Celestial Realm and even after they fell. At least until Lucifer told him to forget about Lilith.
  • Breather Episode: Chapters 17-18 of the main story were considered to be this, as it showcases Belphie's mending relationships with his brothers and growing relationship with the MC.
  • Broken Bird: He's something of an odd man out among his brothers, with the others' louder personalities overshadowing his own quieter nature. He's clearly still struggling with the loss of their sister and Diavolo's exchange program with humans causes him to lash out at Lucifer for agreeing to it, in what he clearly views as a betrayal of family. It's not hard to figure out why Belphie may have some hangups.
  • Character Song: “Dreamscape”
  • Character Tics: He puts his hand to his face to touch or scratch his cheek whenever he's feeling awkward or embarrassed.
  • Color Motif: Purple.
  • Commonality Connection: He and Satan bond over their antagonism towards Lucifer and they spend a lot of time together thinking of ways to prank Lucifer or otherwise piss him off.
  • Death Glare: Can give some pretty good ones when he's annoyed.
  • Despair Event Horizon: Happened before the story proper. Much like Lucifer and Beelzebub, Lilith's death seems to have hit him especially hard.
  • Disproportionate Retribution: He says he wants to kill all humans, and Lord Diavolo for creating the exchange program with them, despite none of those involved being responsible for Lilith's death.
  • Easily Forgiven: Despite trying to kill the protagonist moments before, in the second timeline he's rejoined the group in celebration quite quickly.
  • Fallen Angel: He used to be an angel until he followed Lucifer's rebellion and fell from grace to the Devildom.
  • False Friend: In the first timeline, he tricks the protagonist into freeing him from the attic before killing them in an attempt to ruin Diavolo's exchange program. He gets better however.
  • Gameplay and Story Segregation: He can be used in the dance battle minigames long before he appears in the story, much less before the MC realizes who he is.
  • Heavy Sleeper: Well he is the Avatar of Sloth after all.
  • Heel–Face Turn: Belphegor rather quickly gets over his animosity toward the MC in the second timeline after it is revealed the MC is Lilith's descendant.
  • Horned Humanoid: In his demon form, he has a ram's horns.
  • If It's You, It's Okay: Offers to make a pact with the protagonist, despite having told Solomon he wasn't interested in one, because he says the MC doesn't seem like someone who would order him around.
  • In-Series Nickname: His brother usually refer to him as Belphie instead of his full name in casual conversation.
  • Interface Spoiler: He shows up in the opening and can be picked for the home page from the get-go, thus revealing his identity to the player before they even begin the game.
  • Jerk with a Heart of Gold: For all his prickly attitude and talk of murderous revenge, it all stems from his love and loyalty to his family. A side story in the Hard lessons reveals that he still holds onto some of his dreamy romanticism about the human world, when he recounts the circus he once saw there.
  • Knight Templar Big Brother: His wanting revenge against humans has to do with their role in the death of Lilith, his younger sister.
  • Laughing Mad: Does this in the second timeline, before attempting to kill the MC.
  • Manipulative Bastard: Since Belphie is chronically lazy, he's quite adept into getting other people to do things for him, and his brothers tend to let him get away with it since he's the youngest.
  • Older Than They Look: Being an angel-turned-demon, he's hundreds of years old despite looking like an Emo Teen.
  • Raven Hair, Ivory Skin: He has dark hair and pale skin.
  • The Resenter: He really doesn't like Diavolo at all.
  • The Reveal: When the protagonist sees his picture in the House of Lamentation's portrait room, they realize he's the seventh brother and not a human after all. The player likely already knew this thanks to the Interface Spoiler so this trope is downplayed and in-universe only.
  • Revenge: A lot of his motivations can be boiled down to this. However, he slowly gets over this after bonding with MC.
  • Sanity Slippage: It's strongly implied that being locked in the attic for so long really did a number on his sanity. Once he's released and MC's origins are revealed, he calms down considerably and never again displays the murderous tendencies he did when he first got out.
  • Seven Deadly Sins: Represents Sloth.
  • Sixth Ranger: Is the last of the brothers to be introduced and so far has overall less screentime than the others, due to his circumstances.
  • Sleep Mask: His chibi sprite wears one after a dance game.
  • Sleepyhead: As the Avatar Of Sloth, this is a given. Belphie's tone and demeanor even looks like he's constantly tired and can easily fall asleep when in a cozy environment.
  • Spotlight-Stealing Squad: Belphie gets a majority of the focus in Chapters 17 and 18. The MC helps bridge the gap created between him and his brothers, a product of his absence and Roaring Rampage of Revenge against the MC before his Heel–Face Turn. By the end of the chapter the boys throw a welcome party for the MC in conjunction with Diavalo's birthday party, to show their appreciation for their help. It ends with Belphie agreeing to a pact with the MC despite telling Solomon he wasn't interested in one.
  • Survivor Guilt: His is more implication than Beel's, but he's implied to have this in regards to Lilith.
  • Sweet Tooth: Like his brother Levi, he likes sweet items like Princess’s Poison Apple, Red X Red Apple Pie, cupcakes and candy.
  • Terrible Artist: In the "Searching for Jack" Devilgram, Belphegor tries to draw a jack of spades, but fails at it badly. Even in one chat Beelzebub admits Belphegor's drawings are the only thing he can't understand about him.
  • This Is Unforgivable!: Says this almost word-for-word in his fight with Lucifer.
  • Took a Level in Kindness: After being freed and finally learning the truth about Lilith in Lesson 16, Belphie has gradually mellowed out and became a real friend to the MC.
  • Took a Level in Jerkass: In a flashback during a Hard lesson story segment, it's revealed Belphie loved the human world as an angel and would often leave the Celestial Realm to visit. Now he wants to kill humans in revenge.
  • Trademark Favorite Food: A family pack of sushi.
  • Unstoppable Rage: When Lucifer explains why Belphegor hates humans, and why he locked him in the attic, he describes a scene where Belphie turned to his demon form to fight Lucifer when the older brother refused to go against the exchange program. Lucifer telling him to forget about Lilith was the catalyst for his rage.
  • Used to Be a Sweet Kid: A flashback shows how delighted he was by a human world circus and his eagerness to take Lilith there.
  • When He Smiles: He doesn’t really smile as much. According to his brothers in the side-story “In Search for a Smile”, his smile is quite a sight (after Asmo’s of course). When he does smile in the last part, Levi tries to snap a picture to preserve it.
  • Woobie, Destroyer of Worlds: He was almost this, had Lucifer not intervened.
  • Yandere:
    • Word of God states that he's this in a comment on the game's official Facebook page. He is a sweet guy, but he gets jealous easily if you’re spending time with someone else. In Satan’s Devilgram story “A New Year’s Toast”, Belphegor switches out the toso for an alcoholic version to get back at his brother for deciding to spend New Year’s with you.
    • In the Japanese version of the game, he is explicitly labeled as such in his R-rank casual outfit Devil cards. For the English game, the cards were changed to “The Catnapping Seventh-Born.”
    • In 1-17 for the “Young Malicious Demons’ Academy” event, one of his dialogue options has him say that he would have been really angry if you had forgotten about meeting up with him. He also takes advantage of Diavolo’s video project to film a romantic scene with you.

Other Demons

    Lord Diavolo
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/diavolo_lesson1_1png.png
Voiced By: Takuhei Yamamoto

The president of RAD, and Lucifer's direct superior. He's the one who spearheaded the exchange program, and he is next in line to be Demon King.

  • Ambiguously Bi: His affection for Lucifer sometimes blurs the line between friendship and something more. The guy actually fangirls over Lucifer in a butler uniform, as if he was gushing over a crush. It’s also implied he has feelings for the MC, making things further ambiguous as the MC’s gender is up to the player.
  • Badass in a Nice Suit: His unique RAD uniform is a princely red design, and he has to be badass as the future king of all Devildom.
  • Beware the Nice Ones: Diavolo is one of the friendliest demons in the game, but that doesn't mean he won't do what he has to in order to maintain order.
  • Character Song: “No.1”
  • Disappeared Dad: While he knows where his father is, he hasn't seen him in over a hundred years, with the Demon King apparently being mostly a figurehead, with Diavolo doing most of the running of the Devildom.
  • Hidden Disdain Reveal: During a chat with Simeon, he rather openly (yet somehow nicely) admits to the angel that he can't stand him since Simeon masks his true intentions better than any angel he's ever met. While he is still cordial with Simeon, he is certainly not his favorite person.
  • Horned Humanoid: Diavolo's demon form is impressive, with his large black and gold horns circling his hair almost like a crown.
  • Living Lie Detector: As the Demon Prince, Diavolo has the ability to read people and thus can tell whenever someone is being dishonest. It only serves to show that as nice as Diavolo is, he won't tolerate deception.
  • Lonely Rich Kid: Since his father never let him outside the castle growing up, he never got the chance to make friends.
  • Missing Mom: His mom died giving birth to him.
  • Mr. Fanservice: In his demon form, a fair amount of his chest is on display, and he's exceptionally well-built.
  • Nice Guy: Diavolo treats Lucifer as an equal, and constantly maintains an affable personality with everyone, regardless of who they may be. Just don't give him a reason to think you're a traitor.
  • Older Than They Look: Like the other non-human characters, Diavolo's lifespan extends far beyond that of a human. He mentions offhand at one point that he hasn't seen his father, the Demon King, in several hundred years, since he's asleep underground.
  • Only Friend: While it's implied he's fairly well-respected by his subjects, he's never seen to be in the company of anyone other than Barbatos and Lucifer (and Lucifer's brothers by extension).
  • Promoted to Love Interest: As of the Devil Day 2020 event.
  • Reasonable Authority Figure: He is the president of RAD and is quite reasonable when it comes to discussing important issues.
  • Student Council President: At RAD, the student council is made up of the top rulers of the Devildom, which makes Diavolo the president.
  • Supernatural Gold Eyes: He has gold eyes and is a demon.
  • Time Master: In The Final Countdown event, it's revealed by some dialogue with Lucifer that Diavolo has the ability to stop time.
  • Trademark Favorite Food: Barbatos's Tea.
  • Well-Intentioned Extremist: When he takes Belphegor prisoner and confines Lucifer to the House of Lamentation, he tells a shocked Beel and MC that he must take severe measures as the future Demon King, in order to create cohesion between the worlds of demon, human, and angel.

    Barbatos
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/barbatos_lesson2_13png.png
Voiced By: Masayuki Harada

Another demon that attends RAD, he serves as Diavolo's personal steward.

  • Beware the Quiet Ones: He's not very talkative, but he's extremely loyal to Diavolo and will do as his master orders, up to and including putting a binding spell on Belphegor to take him away.
  • The Big Guy: This trope is played with in Barbatos's case. While he's physically not very intimidating, especially in comparison to his master, he often carries out Diavolo's will such as casting a binding spell on Belphie and taking him away to be held in Diavolo's castle.
  • Character Song: “Crazy About You”
  • Horned Humanoid: Barbatos's demon horns are an intriguing design, with extra branches extending out of the tips.
  • The Mentor: He acts as one towards Luke in terms of baking.
  • Only Sane Man: Though mostly by virtue of being the resident stoic of the cast.
  • Promoted to Love Interest: As of the Devil Day 2020 event.
  • The Quiet One: Barbatos doesn't say much, but he's clearly loyal to Diavolo and seems to enjoy teasing Lucifer with him, in his own odd way.
  • Reality Warper: He tells the MC in chapter 16 that this is the true extent of his magical abilities, being able to pick one reality as the "true" reality.
  • Stalker without a Crush: He's always nearby wherever Diavolo is. When he catches Satan eavesdropping on a conversation between Diavolo and Lucifer in the middle of the night, Satan asks why he's there as well.
  • The Stoic: He’s not as expressive as his master Diavolo.
  • Supreme Chef: He’s known by the brothers to be an excellent chef.
  • Those Two Guys: He's usually to be found in Diavolo's company. Sometimes whether Diavolo is aware of it or not.
  • Time Travel: Barbatos is revealed to have the power to see both the past and the future, as well as being able to send someone into either by using the doors in his room.
  • Trademark Favorite Food: Madam Scream's Macarons. He also really likes tea.
  • Tranquil Fury: While "fury" may be a bit much, he very much dislikes when anyone doesn't show Diavolo respect.
  • Why Did It Have to Be Snakes?: He's afraid of rats, so much so that he can’t even say their names and refers to them as ‘you-know-what’.

    Mephistopheles

  • Childhood Friend: He grew up alongside Diavolo and was more or less his yes-man who agreed with everything he said or did.
  • In-Series Nickname: Occasionally shortened to Mephisto.
  • Rich Bitch: Is shown to be rather snarky, thinks highly of himself, and there are rumors that he’s even richer than Diavolo.
  • The Friend Nobody Likes: Most of the time he appears, people either ignore him or tell him to go away. Even the MC's choice dialogues consist of annoyance towards Mephisto.

Humans

    Main Character
The main character of the story. You are a human who was chosen to be a part of the exchange program and attend RAD for one year. You live with the brothers in the House of Lamentation and proceed to make pacts with them, in order to help the voice that called to you.
  • Adaptational Species Change: While in the game you play as a human exchange student, both the manga and anime have the protagonist as a sheep. Justified however, considering the protagonist isn't supposed to have any details.
  • All-Loving Hero: They befriend both demons and angels during their stay in the Devildom, and seems to genuinely grow to care for the demon brothers. They’re also clearly in shock over Belphie’s hatred of humans being revealed right before he’s taken away by Diavolo and Barbatos.
  • All Your Powers Combined: The climax of the second season of the story revolves around the MC’s latent magical abilities becoming so strong that their mere existence is beginning to tear the three worlds apart and even causes Lucifer to lose his memory. It’s stated because they’re a human with angel ancestry who has pacts with seven of the most powerful demons and therefore a strong connection to each of the three worlds.
  • Ambiguous Situation: Their life before coming to the Devildom is never discussed, beyond Lucifer and Satan asking them if they miss home when they’re visiting London, though whether this is supposed to indicate they’re from London or the brothers are just referring to the human world in general is unclear. This is justified so the player can decide what background they want their MC to have, but there are some instances where not having any concrete information on this can be odd.
  • Beware the Nice Ones: After the brothers cause a ruckus at a cafe and the MC has to use their pact powers to reign them in, Beel (the one who started it) mentions the next day that when they got home afterwards, he was forced to sit on his knees Japanese-style on the floor of their room while they yelled at him. For two hours.
  • Canon Name: Averted. The default name is Yuki, but the player can name the protagonist whatever they choose.
  • Chronic Hero Syndrome: The protagonist agrees to help free Belphegor from the attic because at first, they believe he's a human that Lucifer locked up, and later after The Reveal that he's the seventh missing brother, in order to reunite him with the rest of his family.
  • Cloudcuckoolander's Minder: Can be played this way with the brothers, especially Mammon.
  • Deal with the Devil: They make pacts with the demon brothers over the course of the story.
  • Died in Your Arms Tonight: Dies in Mammon's arms in the second timeline, until they see themselves.
  • Dude Magnet: Can romance any one of the seven brothers, and it's implied they all grow feelings for them along the way. It's unclear if other characters will be future options, though Luke begins to worship them for protecting him no matter what, and Solomon and Lord Diavolo both have Ship Tease moments with them.
  • Famous Ancestor: It's revealed that the protagonist is the descendant of Lilith, a human woman that was once an angel in a previous life, during which she was the sister of the demon brothers the protagonist is now living with.
  • Fantastic Racism: Can be on the receiving end of this as a human, and can be played as this sometimes, if the player picks the options.
  • Featureless Protagonist: Nothing is shown of the protagonist's appearance.
  • The Gadfly: If they're not characterized as the Cloudcuckoolander's Minder they can be characterized as this, depending on the player's choices.
  • Gamer Chick: Can be played like this, if the player makes them female and they respond this way toward Levi's text messages about the games he's playing.
  • Gender-Blender Name: The character’s default name is Yuki, a name which has been used for boys and girls. That’s because the game has decided to go gender-neutral for the protagonist instead of using a female character like their previous games. This is supported by the characters’ dialogue as they do not refer to you by gender pronouns.
  • The Heart: Becomes this in the House of Lamentation, forming bonds with the demons they live with and helping them to accept humans as a whole and themselves within their family.
  • Hello, [Insert Name Here]: Like other SWD main characters, you can use whatever name you want.
  • Hero with Bad Publicity: Can be on the receiving end of Fantastic Racism with the demons at first, as most of the students at RAD (and, it's implied, the Devildom at large) don't take to humans very kindly. Forming relationships with the brothers goes a long way to change their feelings on this, however.
  • Informed Attractiveness: Since the MC doesn't have a character sprite, any comments made on how cute they are fall into this trope.
  • Loved by All: Whether their intimacy points with the characters are high or low, the MC is highly regarded and beloved by the demons, angels, humans and other supernatural beings alike. They're even noted to have become quite popular among the Devildom population.
  • Lust Object: Is implied to be this to Asmodeus, if his flirty messages are anything to go by. Then again, it's Asmo.
  • Magnetic Hero: Eventually is able to make pacts with each of the brothers, as well as being friendly with Lord Diavolo, Solomon, and the two angels.
  • Morality Pet: To the Seven Deadly Sins, notably Mammon, Satan, Belphegor and Lucifer, all of whom often show their softer side towards the MC.
  • Mysterious Past: Their past before being summoned to the Devildom on the exchange is never brought up or alluded to, and is left entirely up to the player.
  • Nerves of Steel: Stands up to a murderously angry Lucifer twice, as well as manages to evade Leviathan and Satan when they transform out of anger as well.
  • New Transfer Student: Along with Solomon, Luke, and Simeon, as they're the only four students at RAD that are not demons and come from realms other than the Devildom.
  • Only Sane Man: Usually takes on this role when living with the demon brothers. Living with the Seven Deadly Sins personified makes this one a given.
  • Pals with Jesus: The MC strikes up fast friendships with the Seven Deadly Sins, the Prince of Hell himself, a demon with the power of time manipulation, three powerful angels, an immortal wizard and even a reaper! All of whom care for the MC and enjoy their company.
  • Person of Mass Destruction: Their eventual connection to the three worlds makes them this trope for each world. It takes either severing their pacts with the Night Dagger or wearing the Ring of Light to keep their mere existence from wreaking havoc on places, people, and even themselves.
  • The Smurfette Principle: If the MC is female, she is this, as every other character besides Thirteen is male.
  • Taking the Heat: Stands between Luke and Beelzebub when Lucifer was about to punish them, becoming the target of his rage instead.
  • Unskilled, but Strong: Is not a wizard and doesn't have any magical training like Solomon, but when they take on his powers they manifest far more strongly than they do in Solomon.

    Solomon
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/solomon_lesson2_2png.png
Voiced By: Kazuki Kawata

The other human student at RAD, he's one of the rare humans with a wealth of magical power. Calm and aloof, he has a pact with Asmodeus and Barbatos.

  • Achievements in Ignorance: Solomon is blithely oblivious to just how fantastically terrible he is at cooking, to the point where his attempts to make normal, edible food have created entirely new forms of magic, including one that sends the MC to the past in a dream and another that's implied to have made Solomon's immortal.
  • Badass Cape: He wears a long navy cape in his casual wear.
  • Beware the Nice Ones: Most of the demons seem wary of Solomon at best, while others like Lucifer and Belphegor outright tell the protagonist not to trust him at worst. He's never seen being anything but polite and friendly so far, despite evidence of having The Gadfly tendencies.
  • Biblical Motifs: He is named after the Biblical King Solomon, a man known for his wisdom and his ability to bind demons.
  • Bitch in Sheep's Clothing: Downplayed. Solomon is a seemingly nice guy and he does have humanity's best interests in mind, which leads him to doing some of the shady things that makes the demons wary of him. He gained a pact with Asmo through somewhat questionable means (Asmo was drunk and not entirely in his right mind) and is very persistent in making pacts with some of the other brothers even when they repeatedly make it clear they're not interested. Mammon even says in the homepage that when it comes to being devious, Solomon can give Lucifer a run for his money. Hell, even Lucifer himself warns the MC to not drop their guard around Solomon.
  • Character Song: “Our Destiny”
  • Chekhov's Skill: The first time the characters find themselves trying to escape Henry 1.0 in the underground maze of Diavolo's castle, Solomon uses his pact with Asmodeus to allow Asmo to charm the snake into letting them go. The second time, after the MC borrows Solomon's powers, they do the same thing to get the same result, except their power is so great that it turns Asmodeus into his demon form and allows him to use his charming powers to a much greater effect. This is what leads Asmo into deciding to make a pact with the MC.
  • Commonality Connection: Feels he can do things like transfer his powers to the protagonist because they're both the only humans in the Devildom, and from the beginning, he has no trouble approaching them and giving them advice about blending in with the other students at RAD. After they gain the Ring of Light, this is even more so. Solomon seems to take their new sorcerer’s status in stride, and is excited about working together with the MC as equals.
    • He also is very similar in personality to Simeon, which probably is partly to do with why he's seen in the angels' company often.
  • Does This Remind You of Anything?: Solomon reveals that his pact with Asmodeus was made when the demon was drunk, and therefore he took advantage of his impaired judgement to have him agree to form the pact. To make matters extra shadier, Solomon even casually implies that Asmo was horrified at the realization when he sobered up. All but indicating that Solomon's pact with Asmodeus was forged on dubious consent.
    • Likewise, one of Lucifer's dialogues during a special present giveaway has him reveal a time where Solomon attempted to give him the same gift, a Super Soda Water, but the gift was actually cursed with a special spell that would bewitch Lucifer into wanting to make a pact with him, which very much parallels to drugging someone.
  • The Dreaded: A humorous example as he's dreaded as a cook in particular. Simeon and Luke go through hoops and bounds to avoid having him cook because of his awful cooking. The demons, even ''Beelzebub', despise anything he cooks and are horrified at the notion if he's concocted anything.
    • However, he is also called a shady sorcerer that the characters, even Barbatos, warn the MC to be wary of. Likely due to the fact that is a very powerful, if sneaky, sorcerer who has 72 different pacts under his belt and still seeks out more.
  • The Friend Nobody Likes: During the times when the entire cast is together, he gets this treatment, albeit it is somewhat downplayed and easy to miss. Despite his pact with Asmo, when everyone goes on a retreat to Lord Diavolo's castle as an incentive to get to know each other better, Solomon is the one the other demons are visibly wary of. This is especially noticeable in contrast to the brothers warming up to the protagonist - the only other human in the group - as well as Luke's growing hero worship of them.
    • In one of his home page lines: Barbatos even says the player should be wary of him.
    • During some particularly chaotic events, the demons are quick to check in on MC and are mindful of their vulnerability as a human, with Solomon having to remark that he's a human too but this goes over their heads.
  • The Gadfly: Shows some shades of this, between teasing Luke, transferring his powers to the MC for a time "just to see what happens," and the human world food he helps make which is virtually inedible to all but him.
  • Irony: Despite being a magically capable human wizard with an affable personality, as well as having been around for hundreds of years and therefore quite familiar with the three realms, Solomon’s notoriety immediately takes a backseat to the MC’s, since a normal human without powers is actually more of a novelty in the Devildom.
  • Lack of Empathy: Towards demons at least. Solomon genuinely cares about humanity and is willing to do whatever it takes to preserve their survival, but this means it'll be at the cost of other species' expense. In fact, a relationship chart reveals that he regards the demons as 'toys' that he attempts to forge pacts for the sake of power and control, with Asmodeus and Barbatos being two of those demons. However, he displays very little sympathy towards them and expresses no remorse when he tricks or uses them. The MC can express disapproval of this, but it goes over his head as he justifies his reasoning for doing what he does.
  • Lethal Chef: Everyone dislikes and avoids his cooking. Though considering it's bad enough to make Beelzebub (who ate a pillar at one point) avoid it, you can't exactly blame them.
  • Mystical White Hair: Solomon has a pretty, full head of white hair that emphasizes his affinity for magic and the supernatural and is deemed the most powerful human in the Human Realm.
  • New Transfer Student: Like the MC and the two angels, since they're the only four students at RAD that aren't demons.
  • Odd Friendship: He seems to grow closer to Luke and Simeon as the game progresses, due to living in Purgatory Hall together.
  • Only Sane Man: Among the other cast members, he's more often than not taking on this role. Like the MC, he's a human (though one with more magical abilities than normal) and thus gives off this trope in comparison to the eccentricities of the other non-human students. That being said, he does have a teasing side to him, and it's implied there is more to him than meets the eye.
  • Princely Young Man: Solomon is a human with exceptional magical ability, enough to make the demons and angels around him show him begrudging respect, as well as wariness. He's impeccably dressed at all times and seems to be a polite and inquisitive young man, as well as being fairly attractive to boot.
  • Promoted to Love Interest: As of the Devil Day 2020 event.
  • Really 700 Years Old: The MC is the last to know that Solomon’s magic has kept him alive for well over a thousand years.
  • Sharp-Dressed Man: When he's not in his RAD uniform, he wears a dark suit with a dramatic-looking navy blue cape.
  • Trademark Favorite Food: Unidentified Matter. Whatever it's supposed to be.

    Lilith
The younger sister of the seven brothers. Lilith died during the Great Celestial War, but her presence still lingers with her brothers after all this time. It's later revealed that she didn't die during the war, and instead was reincarnated as a human with Diavolo's help.
  • Ambiguous Situation: So far the game is a little unclear as to the specifics of her death. Belphie states that humans killed her and it's for this reason that he hates them. However, earlier in the story Beel tells the MC about her, and that she was shot with an arrow in her wing during the war, and he wasn't close enough to save both her and Belphie. Still later, the MC touches the grimoire and sees Lucifer's memory of her passing. Barbatos says contact with Devildom air will only make her condition worse, so Lucifer swears his allegiance to Diavolo so that the Demon King's son may save her. How he accomplished this remains to be seen.
    • Becomes clearer in chapter 15 of the main story. Her brothers believed her to have been killed in the Great Celestial War, all except Lucifer, who arrived with her in the Devildom and begged Diavolo for his help. This help took the form of Lilith being reborn as one of the humans that she loved so much, with no memory of her previous life and brothers. Lucifer kept this a secret from the others as none of them were to visit the human Lilith ever again, and thought he alone should bear the burden of knowing that. It is also revealed that Belphegor hates humans because Lilith tried to use Celestial Realm food to save the life of her human lover, which got her sentenced to death and was the catalyst for the Celestial War. Belphie blames it all on humans and Lilith's love for one.
  • The Baby of the Bunch: She's the youngest sibling and she was clearly doted on and loved a great deal.
  • Birds of a Feather: She had this kind of relationship with Beel and Belphie.
  • Family Theme Naming: Her name references Lilith, the first wife of Adam in Jewish mythology, and one of the first demons. Her brothers all become demons with demonic names, though Lilith herself was never one.
  • Inter Species Romance: Lilith loved humans like Belphegor when they were both angels, and this led to Lilith meeting a human man and falling in love with him.
  • Little Miss Badass: Since she's dead this is a bit inferred, but considering who her brothers are, she likely was this. She was one of the highest-ranked angels in the Celestial Realm like her brothers, and she probably would have been on the Student Council and one of the rulers of the Devildom had she survived.
  • Living Emotional Crutch: Was apparently this in life, and even in death, to her older brothers. This seems to be especially true for Lucifer, Beelzebub, and Belphegor.
  • My Sibling Will Live Through Me: The grimoire in the underground tomb serves this purpose on a more spiritual level for the boys. Since a grimoire is equivalent to a demon's soul, placing it with her empty coffin is meant to ensure that their hearts and souls are still with Lilith.
  • My Sister Is Off-Limits: Seemed to be the reasoning behind Lucifer watching her as she visited the human world, woe betide the human that he deemed unworthy of his beloved sister. He allowed the relationship after seeing how much Lilith loved him.
  • Not Too Dead to Save the Day: Despite being dead, she still exists as a spirit watching over her brothers. She's somehow able to save the MC from being murdered by Belphegor in the second timeline.
  • Posthumous Sibling: She is this for the brothers, since she died ages ago and yet still maintains a presence over her siblings after all this time.
  • Reincarnation Romance: Implied. After she was reborn as a human, Lucifer implies that she ended up with the man she loved as an angel, though whether he was another reincarnation or not is never elaborated on.
  • Sadistic Choice: Was on the bad side of one, according to Beel. Because there was enough time to only save one of his siblings, he ended up choosing Belphegor.
  • Timey-Wimey Ball: Some of the timeline gets a little bit fuzzy in the story of Lilith and how she became human. How did she end up with her human lover if she was reborn? How was she able to bring Levi human world presents of anime and manga characters when she's implied to have existed thousands of years before such things existed?
  • Walking Spoiler: In case it wasn't obvious, her entire existence is this since knowing that she's the deceased baby sister of the brothers informs a lot of the brothers' characters, especially Lucifer's and Belphegor's. Taken to bigger extremes when it's revealed she became human and is the centuries-ago ancestor of the MC.
  • What Happened to the Mouse?: Her ghost still hanging around the House of Lamentation is a pretty significant plot point in the latter half of season one, but it never gets truly resolved due to the Timey-Wimey Ball nature of the plot, and she hasn’t made another appearance in the main story since

Angels

    Luke

Voiced By: Okaki

One of the angels taking part in the exchange program, he answers to the archangel Michael, as he'll eagerly remind you. He's very short, as well as short-tempered and a little childish at times, often becoming the butt of jokes to the demons.

  • Animal Motifs: Much to his chagrin, he is frequently compared to a yappy dog - specifically a chihuahua.
  • The Baby of the Bunch: Technically he's the second youngest, with the MC being overall the youngest, but he's treated as such by everybody, including the MC. He doesn't like this one bit and attempts to come off as more grown up.
  • Because You Were Nice to Me: He grows to like the MC primarily because they shielded him from Lucifer’s wrath when he finds the grimoire in the underground tomb.
  • Berserk Button: He doesn't like being called "chihuahua". Lucifer and other demons like to call him as such just to make him mad. The player can choose to call him that just to make fun of him. During one of the text conversations you can view, he gets really mad at a chihuahua comment one of the demons makes about him during a popularity poll.
    • During a trip with the MC and Mammon, the demon takes his teasing of Luke’s childishness and obsession with Michael a little too far, and Luke runs off, clearly upset. You have the option to tell Mammon you hate this side of him.
  • Biblical Motifs: One of the books in the New Testament is called the Book of Luke.
  • Butt-Monkey: His small stature and cherubic appearance invites mockery from most of the cast, including the MC, if you so choose.
  • Character Song: “My Wish”
  • Fantastic Racism: He doesn't think highly of demons at all, especially in the beginning. However, this isn't really out of malice as Luke still has the mindset of a young angel. The demons also aren't very offended by his remarks either. He slowly grows out of this though, becoming friendlier with the brothers and starting to somewhat see past their flaws and by that point, his remarks about demons being bad are less out of prejudice and more so he's too embarrassed to admit that he's grown fond of them.
  • Hero Worship: He looks up to Archangel Michael and is only part of the exchange program because Michael wanted him to. While he won't admit it to anyone except you, he also looked up to Lucifer before his fall from grace.
  • Hot-Blooded: He’s much louder and complains much more than Simeon. He’s quick to get angry at the demons around him, and does not take jabs at his height lightly.
  • Hypocrite: He’s not too keen on letting Beelzebub and Belphegor stay in his room, despite Beel letting the angel stay in his room after a misunderstanding with Simeon.
  • I Owe You My Life: It’s never outright stated, but the protagonist protecting him from Lucifer’s rage is when he really begins to take a liking to them.
  • Jerk with a Heart of Gold: Despite being crabby and somewhat childish, he genuinely cares for the protagonist, and he gets along with Simeon and Solomon well. He also seems to start seeing Beelzebub in a slightly kinder light after he lets Luke stay in his room briefly.
  • Light Is Good: He’s only ever seen wearing his Celestial Realm outfit, despite living in the Devildom. It’s slightly downplayed in his case, since despite his actual age he still looks like a young boy.
  • Mouthy Kid: Luke is genuinely a good kid, but he is also sharp and opinionated, his good heart and honest ways are the only thing preventing him from being a complete Bratty Half-Pint.
  • The Napoleon: Luke’s the smallest member of the cast, and yet one of the mouthiest.
  • New Transfer Student: Along with Simeon and the two humans, since they’re the only four students at RAD that aren’t demons.
  • Odd Friendship: With Simeon, the other student from the Celestial Realm. Being angels is really the only thing they have in common.
  • Older Than They Look: He is thousands of years old, but he looks like a little boy. According to Simeon, though, he is considered young in angel years.
  • Only Friend: Seems to exclusively be in the company of Simeon, though it could also be by virtue of being the only angels. Later in the game they seem to spend more time with Solomon too.
  • Precocious Crush: Develops one on the MC. Played with in that Luke is still a thousands of years old angel and technically far older than the human MC, but due to angel lifespans he still looks and acts like a ten-year-old, effectively making his feelings this. Simeon even states that he’s young for an angel.
  • Promoted to Love Interest: Averted. Despite receiving an intimacy bar during the Devil Day 2020 event, his interactions are strictly platonic.
  • Security Cling: When he sees the MC at Lord Diavolo’s castle after they protected him, he rushes them to do this. Mammon, Leviathan, and Beelzebub - the only demons with pacts at that point - are less than pleased.
    • He does this again when he first sees MC in the human world.
  • Skewed Priorities: When the MC arrives at Purgatory Hall with Belphie and Beel he’s preoccupied with the two demons using his room instead of the situation at hand.
  • Sweet Tooth: He appears to like sweet things a lot, which doesn’t always help his desire to not be seen and treated like a kid. When he’s told to make dinner during the retreat, Simeon reminds him to make more than just sweets.
  • Trademark Favorite Food: Barbatos's Signature Cake. He likes sweets, and Simeon sometimes tempts him to cooperate with sweets and desserts.
  • Tsundere: Type A platonic towards the demons. He has a short temper and is gruff, especially towards demons. However, underneath his grumpy exterior, he’s sweet and loyal and loves to bake for his friends. When he shows his softer side to demons, he gets flustered and tells them to not get the wrong idea with him spending time with them.
  • Wise Beyond Their Years: While Luke is not immune to acting like a child, he has demonstrated many times to be a lot more responsible and stable than most of the older characters and even does his fair share of the housework at Purgatory Hall such as the cooking, shopping and cleaning.

The other angel from the Celestial Realm attending RAD. He is often to be found in the company of Luke, and he's the mature and stoic counterpart to the highstrung and brash Luke. Not much is known about Simeon, though he appears to get along well with everyone.

  • Actually, I Am Him: It’s casually revealed in a text between Solomon and Simeon that Solomon knows Simeon’s the true author of Tale of the Seven Lords. By the end of chapter 24, it seems everyone but Levi knows this.
  • Ambiguously Brown: His complexion is the darkest of the cast, except for his eyes, which are borderline Occult Blue Eyes.
  • Beware the Nice Ones: Simeon is a genuinely nice guy, but he becomes much more intimidating when he's angry and has something of a dark side. It comes out during the "Tale of The Seven Lords" event when he takes up the role of the director and the brothers are all shown to be terrified of him.
  • Biblical Motifs: There are several mentions of the name Simeon in the Bible. Simeon was the son of Jacob in the Book of Genesis. Simeon was also the name of a prophet who alluded to the crucifixion when meeting baby Jesus. Simeon, or Simon, was also the original name of St. Peter the Apostle.
  • Big Brother Instinct: For Luke. They aren't related biologically, but Simeon is shown to be quite protective of the younger angel - when Lucifer asks Simeon where Luke is because he's bored and feels like teasing Luke to wind him up, Simeon politely refuses to tell him and says if he's bored, he should go do something constructive instead of picking on Luke. He will also cover Luke's ears if the brothers or MC say something lewd in front of him.
  • Character Song: “Question Love”
  • Foil: He's the foil to Luke, the other angel exchange student. Both physically and personality-wise, as he's the tall, calm, and friendly angel with dark hair and skin to Luke's short, childish, and high-strung angel with lighter skin and blond hair.
  • Hidden Depths: He's normally calm and collected, but in the dance battles of the game his glowstick color is green. Green is not only Satan's color, but it also associates with his sin Wrath, which might point to Simeon's hidden dark side and implying that there's something of a temper beneath his gentle demeanor.
  • Hopeless with Tech: When he first tried using his D.D.D. Apparently didn't have much time to get acquainted with technology in the Celestial Realm, as messages between him and Luke show that he types in all caps and doesn't know how to use stickers. Somehow he got the hang of emojis, however.
    • He gets better with this as the game goes on, however
  • Jerkass Ball: During the "Tale of the Seven Lords" event, Simeon shows a surprisingly short temper when the brothers are struggling to nail the script and dance routines for the play depicting Henry and the Seven Demon Lords. While it's somewhat understandable he regards the play as Serious Business, since he's the original author, it's still a rather jarring display of rudeness for such a Nice Guy.
  • Light Is Good: Since he's an angel he wears a white outfit reminiscent of his time in the Celestial Realm, even while attending a school for demons.
  • Mr. Fanservice: Despite not being a romanceable character, (until the 2020 Devil Day event) his design clearly has this trope in mind with him being quite muscular.
  • Nice Guy: He's seen getting along with everyone, and often diffusing a tense Luke egged on by the demons. He always has a smile for everyone, and greets Diavolo and Lucifer amicably when he meets with them after the Great Celestial War, despite one being the son of the Demon King and the other a fallen angel.
  • New Transfer Student: Shares this position with Luke and the two human students, being the only four students at RAD that are not demons.
  • Occult Blue Eyes: Despite his overall dark complexion, Simeon's eyes are a vivid blue that stands out by contrast. It highlights his angelic status.
  • Odd Friendship: With Luke. He is cheerful and friendly with demons while Luke is grumpy and prejudiced against demons. Being angels is really the only thing they have in common.
  • Older Than They Look: He's an angel over a thousand years old, but he looks like a young man in his late teens to early twenties.
  • Only Friend: Seems to exclusively be in the company of Luke, though it could also be by virtue of being the only angels. Later in the game they seem to spend more time with Solomon too.
  • Promoted to Love Interest: As of the Devil Day 2020 event.
  • Trademark Favorite Food: A Paradise Blue drink.

    Michael
A high-ranking archangel whom Luke answers directly to. Despite their current relationship, he still seems to hold a soft spot for Lucifer and his brothers.
  • The Ghost: He has yet to be seen in-game, and other than a telepathic conversation with the MC and a text conversation with Simeon, his only contribution to the story has been other characters talking about him.
  • Sadist: Simeon confirmed him to be this.
  • Sweet Tooth: He's stated by multiple characters, especially Luke, to really enjoy sweets of many types. He's even the reason why Luke started baking, because he wants to give Michael a cake.
