Is there a relatively obscure show or movie that you wish more people knew about?

I like the trope; I've even come up with my own weird and crazy monster concepts from time to time. As far as a favorite example goes, I'd probably be remiss if I didn't say any given Pokémon (particularly the more out-there and ridiculous-yet-neat ones like the Flapple line for example).

I agree, I love weird monsters too. My favorites are some of the The Nightmare Before Christmas monsters, especially Oogie Boogie^note At least, he's weird for what is supposed to be the boogeyman. He doesn't have much in common with other depictions of the boogeyman and the Creature Under the Stars.

Not to be the "what about you" person, but I'm legitimately curious, what do you think of the trope, and what are your favorite weird monsters?

My answer: I agree with kablammin; weird monsters are cool. Bonus points when the designers have clearly shown their work. A few of my favorite Pokémon are pretty strange, such as the Ultra Beasts. I was pleasantly surprised to find that Eternatus managed to out-weird even them.

There are a few:

• A variety of creatures, since I specialize in creature design.
• Shapeshifting in some form, usually involuntary, painful, and difficult to control. In any case, it nearly always has more upsides than downsides.
• Juxtaposition of light/soft and dark/edgy: genuinely friendly eldritch horrors, things that look cute at first glance but are actually really freaky on closer inspection, some kinds of dark humor, stuff like that.
• At least one Genre Savvy character.

Her backstory gives her more depth then the average Yandere villain in fiction.

What makes Himiko Toga such an appealing villain in your opinion?

Hmm, as in like a fantasy/sci-fi work? I haven't built a "proper" fictional nation (as in it's more than just part of the background if you get what I mean), but I guess making one with a monarchy sounds nice but, instead of the usual medieval Europe aesthetic, I would base it of Victorian England or Ancient China. Maybe a mix of Revolutionary France, Russia, and Spain instead if it's based in a story around a revolution.

No, not only I'm a worried about being in traffic but I also get a little car sick after being inside them sometimes so I don't think it would be advisable for me to drive plus I personally prefer walking or taking travel buses (if walking is not an option for the designated location).

Right on its release date. I've played Honkai Impact 3rd before and wanted to check out their next project for myself, especially since it kept popping up outside of gacha game communities.

Ok, I understand.

For 2010's game, Ride to Hell Retribution has some really bad graphics, I've seen better looking games from the PS 1/N64/Saturn era.

Another game, Daikatana has some really uncanny valley character models.

This is one that I haven't put much thought into. The one in the page image is pretty funny, though for another weird one, there's an episode of the original Pokémon anime where Meowth takes part in a battle tournament against the rest of the main trio, with the winner getting to keep the newly hatched Togepi. However, Meowth isn't a trainer, so he has no Pokemon... until he remembers that he is one.

What are your favorite works you consider “underrated”?

“It Doesn’t Matter” and “Theme of E-102” from Adventure, “Escape from the City” from Adventure 2, “Studiopolis Act 1” from Mania.

It’s very well written, and only hampered by the game’s primitive cutscenes.

Favorite character who is a Seldom-Seen Species?

Since the Echidna tribe (including Pachacamac!) was shown in the first movie, I really hope Tikal will be in the second. She's one of my favorites for being the Big Good of Sonic Adventure and a Nice Girl in general.

My favorite Marvel movies have to be Captain America: The Winter Soldier and Avengers: Endgame (plus, this is somewhat semi-unrelated but I'll also say that WandaVision is my favorite Marvel show so far)

I love Tiny Toons to death and almost every character however I always hated Fifi la Fume for more than a few reasons yet so many people act she's so special when I don't see it. She's horribly inconsistent with what boys she's after (she goes after Furball, Calamity and Hamton who should have been with Lady May anyway). Her voice gets on my nerves, she looks hideous imo (it's rare for me to say this for a toony designed character) she's pretty much just inferior copy of Pepe le Pew who was already a problematic character.

Also her AI in Tiny Toons Acme All Stars for the Sega Genesis is really terrible, to the point she even sometimes help the opposing team.

Has there ever been a character from a tv show/movie/video game/etc. that you never understood why everyone likes? My personal pick would be Nagito Komaeda, who I personally find just really annoying. I have no idea what it is about him that people like so much.

Not a show, but I remember being bewildered when Shall We Date?: Obey Me! became really popular. I downloaded the game and played it for a little bit before it blew up, then deleting it off my phone to make room for other games. I had almost forgotten about it entirely until I found out how big it'd gotten.
