I'm wondering about Content Cop, I'm nervous about having this on the wiki, as it's basically calling out real people on You Tube.

I've been wondering about it too. I think I saw a post by a moderator (can't remember which thread) saying that we shouldn't have pages for "commentary" YouTube channels, because those channels are commenting about real people.

I certainly wouldn't miss that page, by the way.

I've made some pages for some commentary channels, but their content is also highly creative, making use of edits, skits, music, and comedy. Content Cop doesn't seem to have that sort of thing going for it. Judging by the examples it's entirely real.

Some problematic examples from this page, and a lot of Hypocrite potholes:

  • Dirty Coward: This is Ian's biggest problem with Leafy. He demonstrates that Leafy regularly directs vicious insults at channels too small to make a real retaliation, playing it off as praeteritio or feigning ignorance, only to whine about drama or people talking behind his back when insults of the same variety are hurled his way. As Ian puts it:
Straight off the bat, I want all of the newcomers to my channel know that I'm perfectly fine with bullying. Make fun of someone because they're fat, autistic, or riddled with acne. I don't care, make fun of them. I think my only stipulation with the bullying is that you have to not be a pussy.
  • Hypocrite: most of the Content Cops rip on hypocrisy on the subject's parts.
    • In "Busting Jinx Reload," Ian riffs on Jinx's watermarking his original videos so they cannot be reacted to, despite being a reaction channel.
    • Keemstar's Content Cop points out his lashing out at Pyrocynical's light criticism of him, despite having made a career out of making much harsher criticism; claiming to not use Drama Alert's influence to bully, before subsequently threatening to reveal information solely to direct the Internet mob's vitriol at people who anger him.
    • Leafy is criticized for making attacks on people's appearances, despite clearly being insecure about his chin; using Keemstar to boost his platform, despite Keemstar's many controversies being public knowledge, and only ending their friendship when the YouTube community turned on him; and whining about drama whenever being called out for bullying, despite having made a career out of insulting other YouTubers.
    • Ian attacks Tana Mongeau for telling him to kill himself for using the N-word, despite having used it herself in the past and in a much more vicious manner than Ian, and for recording a stream of her crying at the negative comments directed at her for the inflammatory and hypocritical comments she directed at iDubbbz.
  • Irony: Ian devotes a good chunk of the Jinx Content Cop to pointing out that Jinx, who has made a career out of Stealing the Credit from other creators by reacting to their videos, puts watermarks on the few original videos of his, something done to make sure copyrighted material can't be infringed on.
  • "The Reason You Suck" Speech: Rather, a "The Reason You and Your Channel Suck" speech. Content Cop is essentially a 10 to 20 minutes long version of this, but special mention goes to his videos on Keemstar and LeafyIsHere, who had their channels and reputation systematically dismantled.
"'Oh, you'll ruin my career, Keemstar? Good fucking luck. You're not going to ruin my career, you dumb piece of shit, and I've shown you why you aren't going to ruin my career; I'm smarter than you, you can't think before you speak, and I've never said this unironically, but I think this will be the first time I've said this unironically and mean it: kill yourself.'"
  • Take That!: Content Cop tends to be this for the people iDubbbz criticizes, but he does throw in some pot shots at certain other Youtubers. Including himself.
    • Content Cop - TOY REVIEW CHANNELS (GIANT SURPRISE EGG)
      • In the toy box, iDubbbz finds a toy gun dubbed "Sam Pepper's Kill Your Best Friend Prank Gun".
    • Content Cop - KEEMSTAR
      • When recounting the Keemstar incident involving Pyrocynical, he describes Pyrocynical as someone who "sucked Keemstar's dick half the time".
    • Content Cop - Leafy
      • iDubbbz points out that Grade A Under A, along with the titular Leafy, is a hypocrite for using Keemstar to boost his platform despite Keemstar's many controversies being public knowledge and only ending their friendship when the YouTube community turned on him. That being said, iDubbbz does give them both the benefit of the doubt although this does lead iDubbbz to another conclusion...
iDubbbz: Wow, you guys must be great judges of character if you were surprised by Keemstar going behind your backs. GradeA and Leafy, complete fucking retards. Actual retards.
      • Then, he mocks Scarce by telling his audience to only subscribe to Scarce "when Scarce's content gets better".
iDubbbz: Scarce is overweight, but more importantly than that, Scarce is boring.
    • Content Cop - Jake Paul
      • He calls Jake Paul an "obnoxious, arrogant asshole" before mentioning that RiceGum is an obnoxious, arrogant asshole as well.
  • "The Villain Sucks" Song / The Diss Track: He's made two of these, "Hey Now, You're A Keemstar" on the titular Killer Keemstar and "Asian Jake Paul" on Ricegum.

Regarding the Gordon Ramsay page, it's not that bad to warrant a cut. Just removing all NRLEP entries about his personal life should be fine.

[up][up]Honestly, after seeing it pop up in like six different cleanup threads today, I feel like there is absolutely no justification for having that page on the wiki. If I were a cutmaster it'd already be gone.

[up][up]Gordon Ramsay NRLEP aside, what about Kitchen Nightmares? I mean they are troping what happens to restaurants crew who are real life people outside the show. I was even astounded by a Downer Ending example about The Canpania because they are potholing some details that happens in real life. Bold words to highlight.

  • The Campania episode has since become a massive retroactive Downer Ending. Things initially went well for the owner, but then his wife discovered he'd been having an affair with his pastry chef; she immediately divorced him and took custody of their children. In September 2010, he sold the restaurant, and days later, took his own life by jumping from a bridge.
Do you think that's appropriate to talk about it or should it needs to be cut?

As much as I may personally dislike Benjamin Netanyahu and think these things would be worth calling out in general conversation, the writeup for his page is way too negative. It doesn't even list any of his appearances in media, of which there no doubt are many.

I found this on Colin O'Donoghue:

  • Tall, Dark, and Handsome: He is 5'10'', has raven hair and deep blue eyes and it's no secret that many female (and male) fans of Ouat find him the most attractive male character by far.

I feel like this could be rewritten. To focus on his characters rather than him.

Is this from the same page gushy:

  • Pretty Boy: It says a lot about the fact that Hook's character was promoted from a character destined to appear in a single episode to a regular character (right after he finished filming that episode), because the producers immediately predicted that Colin's attractiveness would make incredibly popular the character.

If so should I remove it to.

At home, however, and especially around the end of his fourth and during his fifth term, Bibi is more known for his corruption, womanizing, and attempts to hold onto power and increase his own prestige, including things like doing favors for millionaires in exchange for alcohol and cigars, proposing to abolish the ceremonial Presidency just to prevent the front-runner, his ideological rival Reuven Rivlin, from winning, calling a second election in 2019 to prevent the same Rivlin from appointing his 2019 challenger, Benny Gantz, as Prime Minister, and successfully using the COVID-19 pandemic to coax Gantz's bloc into supporting him - which has the welcome (for him) side effect of making Gantz's centrist party crash and burn in the polls in favor of rightist parties. However, he's hardly the most notorious guy in the Government. His own wife, Sara, is obsessed with her official titles, bullies the PMO's staff into submission, and involves herself a little too much in her Husband's work. His son Yair is often compared to Prince Joffrey. And then there's people like Miri Regev, Oren Hazan or Rafi Peretz...

Is this allowed? I don't like the guy either and its not wrong but that seems seriously ROCEJ breaking....

Exactly. I can't stand the man personally but this does not go on those sorts of pages. Also the page is lacking in listings of his appearances in media, which is what the page should ideally be focusing on.

I recently found Creator.Ed Wood, which was full of troping Ed Wood's personal life, which I understand isn't allowed. I've removed most of it, but a more experienced editor might want to review what's left.

He also as a few Moments listed under Awesome.Ed Wood and Heartwarming.Ed Wood (that is, separate from the moments for Film.Ed Wood). Those should be removed, right?

Someone needs to check on Vice Ganda because it's a huge mess. There's some example that is based on his personal life and controversy around him especially Good Is Not Nice and "Just Joking" Justification.

Like I said at ATT, it might be smart to run through it first yourself.

Anyway, I just found James Charles, and... why does he have a page, exactly? He's just a makeup guy. He has done nothing creative. Regardless of the ROCEJ issues he's been drowning in for the past year or so, he's not a tropeworthy creator.

Late response to the Content Cop drama (I was on hiatus when it happened) but that page is a ROCEJ nightmare, and can probably go on those grounds.

The Diary of Anne Frank has some serious problems: while it recognizes the diary as non-fiction and a record of real life events, it still is full of narrative-only tropes, like Smart People Wear Glasses, Downer Ending, Anyone Can Die, Genre Shift, Hope Spot, Daddy's Girl, Character Development etc., and even has a character page. The trivia section even has a What Could Have Been bullet point straight up saying "her life and those of the other residents who didn't make it".

While I think non-fiction can be troped to a certain degree (since it still has a structure, paratext, in-universe stories and metaphors, etc.), that's simply way past the acceptable in my opinion, especially since it is explicitly a diary. There is no editing prior to its release, no dramatization... it is pure plain nonfiction.
