The Manga Dex synopsis

"...I've experienced it so many times, again and again... that, regardless of how much it hurts inside... I've long since cried all my life's tears."
Ramia, Chapter 3.1

Ramia-Yana: Hero and Demon Lord Chronicles is a Manga-inspired webcomic by TheGoldenSmurf about a mysterious knight named Ramia in a fantasy world. A hero that has been through countless battles (and has the scars to show for them), she is called back to her old village to deal with many women of said town disappearing.

However, just as soon as she finishes there, it turns out that the Demon Lords are preparing for war yet again...

As the webcomic is still ongoing, it can be read on MangaDex and on Pixiv.

Tropes describing ''Ramia-Yana':

  • Covered with Scars: Ramia, if her face and bandaged hands didn't clue you in.
  • Dark Is Not Evil: Ramia's color scheme is almost completely black, yet she's one of the Legendary heroes.
  • Destructo-Nookie: After sleeping with Alexander, Ramia almost destroys his bed... and his body. Even after two hours, he still has trouble walking.
  • Eccentric Mentor: Ramia agrees to train Alexander, Clea and Kusa. She doesn't drop her usual mannerisms, but it quickly becomes clear that this is no reason to take her any less seriously: she juices up Alexander and Clea with primordial energy in order to train them more intensively and efficently than their bodies would normally allow them to, while she brings Kusa down to normal in order to help him correct what she considers to be his faulty mindset.
  • Empty Eyes: Ramia has empty eyes by default. Even though she's usually smiling all the time, snippets of her past show that deep down she's hiding a lot of pain.
  • Fantasy-Forbidding Mother: Kaiya resents Ramia so much that she effectively forbids not just her family, but the rest of her subjects from idolizing her in any way or form. She even threatens to banish Alexander and Clea (the latter of which was rescued by Ramia not an hour ago) if they even think of following Ramia after Kaiya banishes her from Naravas, something which neither sibling finds the least bit amusing. Gertrude shows her disapproval by giving her own daugher a German Suplex.
  • Foil: Eldarius explicitly compares Ramia and a younger Gertrude as such.
  • Good is Not Nice:
    • Ramia breaks a Priestess' legs with no effort at all, castrates a Kachooli, immediately threatening it afterwards... All those moments were completely justified, but it still says a lot about her character.
    • Gertrude, in her old age, combined with Death Glare, something Alexander knows all too well...
  • Groin Attack: After a Kachooli, who moments ago made clear his intent to have his way with Ramia, tries to win her over by pretending to be cute, Ramia responds by pulverizing one of its testicles.
  • Know When to Fold 'Em:
    • Cole immediately understands that he's out of his depth when Osumihime and her bodyguards casually ask that he guide them to the Mercenary Guild.
    • Malhory's attempt to get the hell away from Mandragloria is quickly brought to an abrupt end when she realizes she hasn't actually moved even an inch from the starting point, and falls to her knees in resignation.
  • Male Gaze: Ramia has a nice body, and it's shown off as such. Same goes for the Demon Lords.
  • Maou the Demon King: There have been various Demon Lords, each with their own title, each having carved their name into the history of the world. They are so powerful, they are said to be more akin to disasters than living creatures.
    • The Sultan of Curses, Orai Turan (from 600 years ago).
    • The Leviathan Queen, Octasonia Shokushu (from 200 years ago)).
    • The Arachne Asura, Terapho Goliath (from 30 years ago).
    • The Roots of Yggdrassil, Mandragloria Cassandra Asmolith (current).
  • Me's a Crowd: Ramia developed a high-level spell to clone herself, with the clone being "much weaker" than herself but still strong enough to handle high-class demons. As long as the clone has food to eat, it can last for a whopping ten years. She leaves behind one such clone to train Alexander and Clea, since she's reluctant to take them with her and Kaiya won't allow her to stay in Naravas. When Alexander and Clea are next seen, each of them has their own clone to train them (plus a third clone to train Kusa).
  • Murderous Thighs: In chapter 8, Ramia uses her thighs to crush the head of a middle class demon like a watermelon.
  • Noodle Incident: A certain event that took place around the time of the last Holy War 30 years ago has made Kaiya resent Ramia's guts ever since. According to Kaiya, her mother Gertrude should hate Ramia even more than she does because of said incident, but Gertrude not only doesn't hold it against Ramia, she's aware that she must've had her reasons for doing what she did and even calls out her daughter for being so immature about it that she can't let it go even though Gertrude herself could.
  • Outside-Context Problem: Whatever Chernokog is, he's not a demon. Not only is his aura unlike that of a demon, the closest reference Eldarius has is an old folk tale about a Grim Reaper bearing the same name; when he manages to make out Chernokog's face, he sees that his entire face is a skull.
Eldarius: Is... that even a demon at all?! What the hell is that thing?
  • Pint-Sized Powerhouse: RAMIA. FULL. STOP. note  It really says something when you can cause earthquakes just by stomping on a monster.
  • Predecessor Villain: There have been three other Holy Wars in recorded history, each against different Demon Lords. While they were all defeated with various degrees of success, a few survivors from the war against Octasonia (one of her children included) have banded under Mandragloria's banner.
  • Purposely Overpowered: If you initially thought Ramia a bit too strong in the beginning, Chapter 6 then reveals the power of a Lieutenant (High-Class) Demon... And then we meet the Demon Princess, Osumihime...
  • Reasonable Authority Figure: Gertrude may not be the mayor of Naravas, but she's still deferred to when her daughter is not present. She especially stands out as reasonable where Ramia is involved, as Kaiya wants absolutely nothing to do with her, orders her to leave the moment she's aware of her presence, and threatens anyone who tries to side with Ramia with banishment. The last one makes Gertrude put her foot down and countermand Kaiya so that Alexander and Clea can thank Ramia properly for her help.
  • Retired Badass: Gertrude was once the Hero of the Holy war from 30 years ago. While not anywhere near Ramia's league, she could definitely hold her own in a fight against Demon Lord Terapho. Currently at age 75, these days she's retired to Naravas, where her daughter rules as mayor of the city. She still retains some of her old strength, however; enough to put the fear of God in anyone who annoys her.
  • Self-Duplication: Ramia is able to create identical, but weaker versions of herself. While she can make an undisclosed number of clones directly, each of her clones can in turn create up to three "sub-clones", which themselves are unable to make any clones at all. She can even create clones of various sizes: from "Smol" type (greater agility and higher mana pool) to "Beeg" type (vastly increased physical strength and toughness), as shown in chapter 8.
  • Sure, Let's Go with That: Ramia's zany antics quickly leave her peers too dumbfounded to question it. While Alexander and Clea are astonished at first, Gertrude shows that she's already used to it.
