  • Frost
    • Alternative, he could become a re-skin of Frieza with some dialogue changes (A la Injustice). I don't know how he'll turn gold, though.

  • Yajirobe
  • Yamcha(!)
    • Confirmed(!)
  • Zamasu
  • Zangya
  • Zarbon
  • Zen'o
    • Highly unlikely, as he isn't a fighter.
  • Based on the cinematic opening, which features all the characters, every post here that is not confirmed is now jossed until DLC.

Android 21 is based on Dr. Gero's wife
  • Since Akira Toriyama stated that 16 is in-universe based on Dr. Gero's deceased son, it would not be difficut to believe 21 is based on his wife, who has the same hair and eye color as 16.
    • Either that or his daughter.
    • Appears to be confirmed. From released footage from the story-mode, 21 was apparently the mother of the person Android 16 was based on. And since Word of God confirmed Android 16 was based on his dead son, it seems that unless a Retcon, 21 was based on Gero's wife, which is supported by her feeling like she's going to cry when she talks about how Gero - who she doesn't remember - is long dead..

This game is Bandai Namco "testing the waters" for a potential Shonen Jump vs. Capcom crossover

  • Wouldn't it be Shonen jump vs Arc Systems?
  • More likely a Shonen Jump fighting game done by Arc Systems. Given how Bandai Namco has been holding up on doing Tekken X Street Figther and how negative has become capcom's name when it comes to their fighting games outside their most hardcore fanbase, is easy to assume that a shonen jump crossover with capcom is out of the table. Outside SF and the Marvel games dominating the USA tournament scene they are no longer a powerhouse when it comes to fighting games on their home country neither have the same power with the general public. If anything the most like game to happen at some point will be Shonen Jump vs Namco/Bandai vs Arc System.
  • The reason this WMG was made was because, regardless of the state Capcom is in right now, Shonen Jump vs. Capcom is still a very heavily requested crossover. Granted, Capcom in the financial situation they're in right now probably wouldn't be able to handle the game, but it could still work if it was handled similarly to Namco × Capcom or Project × Zone: Both companies allow their characters to be used while a third party (preferably Arc System Works in this case, who have worked with Capcom before) actually develops the game.

The game will be later released for the Nintendo Switch after some of the DLC for the game has been released, with said DLC included
  • Vegeta's VA himself has said that he wants to see the game on the system. Plus, with Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2 already confirmed for the system, it's not like there would be any problem with bringing DBZ games to the system.
    • An unconfirmed rumor from November 2017 says that it will come to the system, but it doesn't elaborate on when or if it will have the DLC included.
    • Confirmed—with all DLC included!

Towa and Mira are the main villains of Fighter Z's story mode, with only Towa being playable.
  • According to a rumor anyway. Towa will have Mira as an assist, similar to 17 is to 18. Though it also says 17 is playable, so hard to say if it's legitimate.
    • Jossed. Android 21 is the Big Bad of the story, and unless something in game changes, they are very likely not involved.

When this game comes out somebody is going to make a TFS Dragon Ball Z Abridged Voice Pack mod.
  • Or maybe they might make it a DLC or something?
    • Welp they brought Nappa into the roster, if there's no TFS Sound Pack there will be a riot.
    • TFS themselves stated that they are very interested in doing one.
    • When Nappa is jumping, press Down+Strong Attack and for a moment he'll asume the "VEGETA! I CAN FLY!!!" pose. Please let it happen.
    • Well all we got are these so enjoy...

Android 21 will eventually become heroic or neutral
Not counting Gero himself, all but 2 of his androids (5 if you count Super Android 13) eventually pulled a Heel–Face Turn (not counting the future versions of 17 and 18), so it would make sense for 21 to follow suit with the majority of his creations.
  • Jossed, sort of. She starts off as a kindly person who just wants to live in peace, but is slowly being driven mad by her Horror Hunger. While in the first two routes she eventually succumbs to her madness and becomes the sadist she's advertised as, in the third, she and her dark side split apart, allowing her to remain good while the dark side descends into full-blown psychopathy. Said dark side is also not something Gero intended for her, but a result of her getting Buu's cells, from whatever automated system was collecting them during her development long after Gero's death, combined with her being designed to be able to perpetually regenerate by consuming the cells of other creatures, creating a compulsion to eat increasingly powerful beings that eventually manifests as another personality.

Yamcha's Death Pose will be featured
It was meant to be.
  • Confirmed! It will be shown when Yamcha is KO'ed by Nappa's Saibamen attack.
    • Even better: Nappa can get inflicted with that too. By Yamcha.

Ky Kiske will be included as a Guest Fighter in the game
Ky Kiske will be a guest character in the game, with his appearance and moveset being based on his appearance in Guilty Gear Xrd. His status as King of Illyria in his own franchise will lead to the Z-Fighters constantly mistaking him for King Kai.
  • Mistaking him for Kaio is extremely unlikely, since "King Kai" is just a very bad translation of the title "Kaio" ("King of the Worlds"). Kai is not his name. The whole "King Kai" would be his title, but it's obviously Lost in Translation. If anything, Ky would be more mistaken for Trunks since they both have a sword, are blonde (less so with Trunks) and have the same voice, but that's also unlikely. Also, there's a Kaioshin with the name Kai (or Khai) and none of the game's cast would care about him.
  • Jossed so far. The final roster has nobody that not from Dragon Ball.

Android 21 is Dr Gero's granddaughter.
Android 16 is based on his son, and he looks like he could be in his thirties or even early forties. If Gero's son had a child of his own, they would probably be in their late teens or an adult by the time the Z portion of Dragonball roles around. 21 is interested in Dr Gero's work because he's her grandfather, and she wants to avenge her father and grandpa. Gero taught her how to harness her intellect, allowing his malevolent genius to continue long after his death.
  • Jossed, She's a Bioandroid like Cell, though unlike him she was a human turned into a Bioandroid, and not grown in a tank. The human in question being the mother of the man Android 16 is based on. She's Gero's wife, though she doesn't remember her life when she was human.

This game will serve as the first step towards a proper Pretty Cure fighting game.
A successful Arc System Works game based on a Toei property could potentially open the doors for other collaborations. It's not terribly likely, given how Toei is squeamish about having the Cures fight each other in an interactive environment and how coming up with a viable roster of heroes and villains across a dozen or more continuities would be beyond difficult, but we can dream.

Piccolo will assist Gotenks's Charging Ultra Buu Buu Volleyball Attack.
Just like how Krillin assists Android 18's Accel Dance.
  • Confirmed, but only when Piccolo is on Gotenks's team.

Android 21 will have a Super Form of her own.
A la 13, only less "stealing Vegeta's 'do".
  • Confirmed! She has a powered up form dubbed "Majin 21" that seems to be her after absorbing the power of some of the villains.
  • Actually jossed. Her majin-like form is actually her true form, and she can take it whenever she chooses.

There will be guest characters from other Shonen Jump properties
Most likely possibilities being Monkey D. Luffy and Toriko, due to their respective series having crossed over with Dragon Ball at least twice.
  • Highly unlikely due to copyright issues. They need Oda's permission, but possibly also of the company who made the last One Piece videogame, who i'm sure still holds some of the rights.
    • The last One Piece video game released as of this edit was Burning Blood, which was published by none other than Bandai Namco. They were also publishers behind the Toriko video games, and even the J-Stars crossover games. Copyright issues aren't gonna be a problem here.
  • Actually, the most likely possibility is Arale Norimaki, considering her series shares continuity with Dragon Ball.
  • Jossed as far as the base roster.
  • As a whole, this idea sounds a lot better for an entirely separate game with Shounen Jump characters, a la J-Stars Victory VS.

Despite suggesting against it, Android 21 will be wished back to life
Her good self is an interesting and potentially incredibly powerful warrior - as well as a brilliant scientist on par with Bulma - and the Dragon Balls could be used as a solution to her hunger. Reincarnation is essentially just asking for a new character with the same power level, and for someone who was already amnesiac and just trying to build a new life when her body started driving her insane; letting her make another go at it seems kinder than pressing the reset button on her.
  • Her evil counterpart will be reincarnated, however, like Kid Buu to Uub. As a bonus, 21 will end up becoming a Parental Substitute or adopting the reincarnation, allowing her to have the family she wanted.
  • Instead of wishing away the hunger itself - as it is a result of Buu's cells in her makeup, and likely would be impossible for Shenron to effect directly - the programmed compulsion to consume the cells of others will be wished away. It's that programming in conjunction with Buu's bottomless hunger that compels 21 to consume stronger and stronger fighters, without it, she'd be in a situation similar to Fat Buu - sure she could turn people into candy and eat them, but she doesn't want to and feels no compulsion to do so, so she won't. And without the programming mutating a Horror Hunger into her, there's no concern over another evil personality arising and overcoming her true self.

Android 21's real name is Kaeru.
Toriyama is a big fan of Theme Naming. With Dr. Gero's name being based on the onomatopoeia of a frog's croaking, it stands to reason her name would carry on the frog-based theme naming and she would have a name which translates to "frog".
  • Jossed. It is Vomi.

There will be a downloadable side-story with the unused characters
According to a rumor, Fuu, Mira and Towa's son from the Xenoverse games will appear (Pretty likely as promotional material to Xenoverse and Heroes). Since he is related with the time-breakers, he will mess with the timelines in order to bring Bardock and Broly into the main canon for a side-story, alongside Goku Black and Hit.

Why? It amused him. A perfect Excuse Plot.

The reason the rollback update has taken as long as it has is because it will come out alongside surprise DLC of Gamma 1 and Gamma 2.
And maybe Beast Gohan and Orange Piccolo.
