Tropes
- Action Girl: Played a lot of these, especially after her role as Sydney in Alias. Moved into comedy in the 2010s, with the exception of Peppermint demonstrating that she could still do the Action Girl stuff.
- Creator Backlash: The Elektra movie. She only did it due to contractual obligations from Daredevil.
- Directed by Cast Member: Directed one episode of Alias in the fourth season.
- Endearingly Dorky: Though her roles as Secret Agent Sydney Bristow and Super Antihero Elektra made her famous, and in the latter's case infamous, as an Action Girl, it was her roles in movies like 13 Going on 30, Valentine's Day and Ghosts of Girlfriends Past that made her a household name.
- Romance on the Set: She was married to her costar from Felicity Scott Foley, dated Michael Vartan who played her love interest on Alias, before she finally married Ben Affleck after working with him on the films Pearl Harbor and Daredevil.
- Star-Making Role: Her role as Sydney in Alias rose her to stardom.
- Timeshifted Actor: Christa B. Allen has played the younger version of two of Garner's characters, in 13 Going on 30 and Ghosts of Girlfriends Past.
- Written-In Infirmity: When she became pregnant, her character on Alias did too, with the result that Sydney's action scenes had to be cut considerably.
