The Counselors
Chef Hatchet
- Angry Chef: Like in canon.
- Camp Cook
- Lethal Chef: The quality of his cooking is described as questionably edible at best.
- Lesser of Two Evils: Noah sees him as this, regarding Chef as more competent at handling situations.
- Pet the Dog: It's implied he pushed for Alejandro to be hired alongside Sierra to help Noah better since they're both trans.
Chris McLean
- Butt-Monkey: Gets put through the wringer by the campers.
- Child Hater: Downplayed. He doesn't seem to hate the kids, but he is annoyed by their antics and generally uncomfortable being touched by them.
- Irony: Instead of the him torturing the contestants, the campers are the ones torturing him.
- Teen Hater: He considers the only upside to working with kids is not having to work with teenagers.
The CITs
Alejandro
- Adaptational Gender Identity: Is assumed cis in canon, while here he's a trans man. It's implied that this is the reason Chef insisted he was hired too, since Noah is a trans boy.
- Adaptational Heroism: Is a genuinely Nice Guy here compared to his canon manipulative Arch Villain personality.
- Adaptational Late Appearance: Doesn't show up until the end of chapter 8.
- Spinoff Babies: Averted. He's still 16 years old.
Sierra
- Adaptation Relationship Overhaul: Her relationships with the campers are vastly different to canon due to the age difference. Here she acts as more of a big sister figure and has no attraction to Cody.
- Adaptational Late Appearance: Doesn't show up until the end of chapter 8.
- Adaptational Personality Change: While she still has her Cloud Cuckoo Lander excitement and personal space issues, her obsessive stalker tendencies are toned down compared to canon. Justified since the rest of the cast are children.
- Nonconformist Dyed Hair: Still has her purple hair.
- Spinoff Babies: Averted. She's still 16 years old.
- Quirky Curls: Her hair is out in puffy curls instead of a braid.
The Campers
Beth
Bridgette
Cody
- Adaptational Relationship Overhaul: While he still hangs out a lot with Gwen, he doesn't seem to have his defining crush on her.
- Cheerful Child: Not much seems to phase him. He isn't even waived by Eva's temper.
- Moment Killer: Occasionally to Gwen and Trent. Though here more because he likes hanging out with them than because he's trying to impress Gwen.
- Odd Friendship: Is starting to form one with Eva.
- Older Than They Look: He's 11 years old, but the shortest camper.
- Trademark Favorite Food: Triple layered devil's food chocolate chip ice cream cake, with sprinkles.
Courtney
- The Scapegoat: Is initially blamed by Duncan for tattling on everyone about jumping off the cliff, when it was actually Noah who told Chris.
DJ
- Security Blanket: Carries a stuffed bunny named Bunny almost everywhere.
- Shrinking Violet: A shy guy.
Duncan
- Crush Blush: Blushes in Chapter 8 when Leshawna questions why he wants to talk to Courtney after she gets fed up of his behaviour.
- Loving Bully: Implied to be one towards Courtney in Chapter 8.
- Nonconformist Dyed Hair: His natural hair color is black, but part of it is painted green like his teen self has.
- Puppy Love: Chapter 8 implies he has a crush on Courtney.
Eva
- Adaptational Relationship Overhaul: While she still has her bad temper, she is on friendlier terms with the other campers and does interact with them more.
- Odd Friendship: Is starting to form one with Cody.
- Sleeves Are for Wimps: The sleeves on her shirt are ripped off.
- Unmanly Secret: She's a fan of FameTown. She tries to deny it to Cody, but he's fine with it.
Ezekiel
- Adaptational Relationship Overhaul: Due to sticking around longer, he's more sociable with the other children, and has already made friends with Harold and Izzy.
- Eskimos Aren't Real: He thought subways were a scary myth.
- Filthy Fun: He and Izzy enjoy playing in the mud and rain in chapter 6.
- Nose Nuggets: Still has his nose picking habit. The front of his camp shirt is covered with booger stains.
- Odd Friendship: Ezekiel, a clueless homeschooled kid, manages to get along well with Cloudcuckoolander Izzy.
Geoff
- Eyes Out of Sight: His hair always covers his eyes.
Gwen
- Adaptational Personality Change: Is more sociable with the other kids from the start instead of starting off cold and warming up to people as time goes by.
- Nightmare Fetishist: While not to the extent of her Dramarama counterpart, she has her moments. She wanted to go to camp because she thought it was on a haunted island.
- Nonconformist Dyed Hair: Her natural hair color is brown, but parts of her hair are splattered with blue and teal paint like her teen self has.
- Puppy Love: Is implied and later confirmed in chapter 8 to have a crush on Trent.
Harold
- Heavy Sleeper: Still manages to stay asleep despite being dragged through the woods in chapter 5.
- Scout-Out: Is part of the Muskrat Boys, and wears several badges on his shirt. He mentions that he was supposed to go to a Muskrat Boys summer camp, but it was overbooked, which is why he's at Camp Wawanakwa instead.
Heather
- Adaptational Relationship Overhaul: Her romance with Alejandro is changed to a Precocious Crush here due to a new age difference.
- Embarrassing Damp Sheets: Is revealed to be a bedwetter in chapter 8. She goes to great lengths to hide it (not that Gwen and Trent really seem to care).
- Gem-Encrusted: Her shirt is encrusted with real jewels on the hem, sleeves, and "W". Chris notes how these jewels are easily worth more than he'll make the whole summer.
- Precocious Crush: Gains one on Alejandro in chapter 9.
Izzy
- Adaptational Late Appearance: She doesn't appear until the end of chapter 2, since she's not actually a signed up camper.
- Cloud Cuckoo Lander
- Filthy Fun: Plays in the mud and rain with Ezekiel in chapter 6.
- Motor Mouth: As Chris learns, when she starts to talk it's hard to get her to stop.
- Odd Friendship: Gets along surprisingly well with Ezekiel, of all characters.
- Wild Child: Was believed to be this by Chris and Chef, until they learned she can walk and talk just fine.
Justin
- Cuteness Proximity: Invokes this in place of his teen's hotness.
Katie
- Puppy Love: Has a crush on Justin as per canon.
Leshawna
Lindsay
- Instant Bandages: Her arms are covered in bandages, and she later gains one on her cheek from Tyler.
- Pink Means Feminine: Instead of green and red, her shirt is green and pink. And sparkly.
- Official Couple: With Tyler by chapter 9.
- Puppy Love: With Tyler. While she initially didn't realize he liked her, when she does it's clear she reciprocates.
Noah
- Adaptational Gender Identity: Is assumed to be cis in canon, but here is a transgender boy.
- Accidental Misnaming: By his dad in a flashback phone call. Noah says his dad forgets his name half the time.
- Butt-Monkey: Of the kids, he's the one who tends to suffer the most.
- Deadpan Snarker: Like his teen self, but with less tact.
- First Period Panic: Gets his first period in chapter 7. He begrudgingly tries to get help from Chris, but is brushed off due to the other camper's shenanigans, and Chris having no clue what to do. This incident is what leads to Alejandro and Sierra getting hired.
- Hidden Depths: It's implied in chapter 6 that he has some knowledge of baking.
- I'm Not Here to Make Friends: Played with. He doesn't enjoy interacting with the other kids, and outright says he doesn't want to make friends. But he was sent to camp by his mom specifically to make friends.
- Massive Numbered Siblings: He's the youngest of 9. He doesn't really seem to like any of his siblings, calling them "simple-minded crass hormonal dodos".
- Meaningful Name: His last name "Susata" is the pronunciation of "ਸੁਸਤ", the Punjabi word for "lazy".
- Named by the Adaptation: His last name is "Susata".
- Never My Fault: He acts as though everyone is hating him completely unjustified, even though he's a bit of a Jerkass, he didn't help at all during the dodgeball game (costing his team cake) and he tattled on everyone for jumping off the cliff, meaning that they are all quite justified in disliking him.
Owen
- Nice Guy: He's friendly with everybody. The first thing he does in the fic is hug Chris and say how nice it was to meet him.
Sadie
- All Love Is Unrequited: It's implied she has a crush on Katie, but Katie doesn't notice with her crush on Justin.
- Puppy Love: She's implied to have a crush on Katie.
Trent
- Puppy Love: Implied to reciprocate Gwen's feelings towards him.
- Trademark Favorite Food: Pizza with ranch dressing (to Cody and Gwen's disgust).
Tyler
- Instant Bandages: Is littered with bandages, and gains one of his cheek from Lindsay after getting a bruise. He keeps it even after his cheek heals.
- The Klutz: He can't go through a chapter without somehow getting hurt.
- Official Couple: With Lindsay by chapter 9.
- Pointless Band-Aid: For some reason, has one bandage on his shirt too.
- Puppy Love: With Lindsay. He's clearly crushing on her, and tries to impress her with various physical stunts (that don't work).
