Main Cast
Kyle
- Voiced by: Alec Young
- Badass Adorable
- Camera Fiend: One of Kyle's hobbies when he was human.
- Dark Is Not Evil: Being a Umbreon, he falls under this.
- Forced Transformation: In typical Mystery Dungeon fashion, Kyle has been plucked from his human life and turned into a Pokémon with the purpose of saving the world.
- It Sucks to Be the Chosen One
- Shrinking Violet: Kyle is a rather shy and unassuming human turned Pokemon, left questioning just what makes him worthy of being chosen by Arceus to save both the Pokémon and human worlds.
- Super Drowning Skills: When Kyle first ends up in the Pokemon world as an Umbreon, he finds himself struggling to avoid drowning in the water, before eventually being pulled underwater involuntarily.Narrator: Beating his strange new limbs was all Kyle could do. He had never learned how to swim before, and figured that plunging from the sky into the ocean was 'not' the best way to learn.
- Tearsof Blood: When struck by an attack by the Assimilated Gengar at the end of Chapter 1, he is left slowly feeling a creeping painful sensation overcome him and he is shown with inky tears of blood flowing out of his eyes. He gets better, however.
Nila
- Voiced by: Hectic Vexor
- Florence Nightingale Effect: Might be in the case of Nila towards Kyle, after rescuing him from drowning in the ocean.
- How Many Fingers?: A variant; as Kyle comes to from his unconscious dream, a concerned Nila looms over him asking how many tail tips she's holding up.
- Mind over Matter: Given she's a Psychic-type, this comes naturally to her.

Seth the Zangoose
- Voiced by: Garrett Horne
- Anti-Interference Lock Up: Seth ends up trapped behind a wall of solid ice by Glacie after succumbing to Assimilation, so he wouldn't interfere with the coming evacuation of the village.
- Asshole Victim: Even though he has a cocky streak and acted antagonisticly towards Glacie when meeting him, the poor Zangoose didn't deserve getting pecked in the shoulder and becoming an Assimilated Pokemon.
- I Know Kung Fu: Invoked by Seth as he vents about being left out of the search for the escaped Gengar; bringing up that his Night Slash attack would prove useful.Alita: Apply it to another team, then. You had the chance last summer, Seth.
- Is There a Doctor in the House?: Oliver immediately suggests contacting a Healer Pokemon after Seth gets punctured in the arm by QOWJDKD. Tragically Subverted when Glacie points out no healer in town could possibly heal the effects of an Assimilated attack.
- One-Track-Minded Hunger: Seth in the non-canon short Mc Nugget Night, when he really wants McDonald's after a long team meeting and does not take getting to the restaraunt late lightly.Seth: I need my Chicken MacNuggets, grown from the MacSoil! They're only $4.99!
- Pokémon Puppet: Seth as the Assimilation process takes hold and he involuntarily starts swiping at his teammates.
- Skyward Scream: Seth's response in the Chapter 2B preview (and full episode proper) after being left behind by Oliver and Torke to look after the dead body of QOWJDKD alongside Alita.Seth: DAMMIT!!!
- Snake Versus Mongoose: Zig-Zagged; since even though Zangoose itself is based off this trope, Seth is not seen fighting against any snake-like Pokémon on-screen.

Lily the Sentret
Dipper the Impidimp
- Voiced by: Cooper Mc-Euen
- Sapient Steed: Occasionally treats Parker the Herdier like this; in fact, he's introduced recalling a story chasing after a criminal Mudsdale through the streets of Pleada while riding on Parker's back like a cowboy sheriff.Dipper: Herdier have very soft fur. It was quite pleasant.
- Small Name, Big Ego: Has shades of this in his personality.
- The Imp: A heroic example, aiding the Pleada Rescue Team.
- What the Hell, Hero?: Calls out Chanel for their earlier Tempting Fate remark of hoping a Pokemon would die so something would happen in town to do in solving crimes in town when they find the dead body of QOWJDKD.Dipper: Well, are you happy now, Chanel?Chanel: Oh. My. God. I literally said I was kidding!

- Voiced by: Ebony Tails
- Cunning Like a Fox

- Voiced by: RJR
- Actually Pretty Funny: Kenya's reaction to hearing of Glaceon's undercover alias: Glacie.Kenya: Absolutely ridiculous. God forbid you ever have any children.
- Mythology Gag: Kenya's name may be seen as a reference to a certain Spearow players get gifted in Gold and Silver for a side quest. Kenya's status as a messenger Fearow may also allude to the mail that in-game Spearow holds.

Arceus

Jirachi
- Voiced by: Ebony Tails
Click here for more tropes based off the game information of Jirachi.

- Make a Wish: Jirachi's main M.O. and her last act of freedom for Arceus before being imprisoned by the Entity.
- Olympus Mons
- Paper Talisman: Her last talisman burns away after granting Arceus's request for outside aid. It's worth noting her other two are missing when the story begins.
- Psychic Powers
- Ridiculously Cute Critter
Assimilated
The Entity
- Voiced by: Andreas Claymore
The main antagonist of the story, surrounded by mystery as he is the main force behind the Assimilated phenomenon, and the attacks of Arceus and other Legendaries.
- A God Am I: Appears to be his ultimate goal.
- Big Bad
- Evil Counterpart: To Arceus; as observed by Arceus and Jirachi.Jirachi: No Legendary Pokémon can simply wish Arceus away, and no Mythical Pokémon can either; let alone a normal Pokémon! And since he's nearly identical to you in power, nothing I throw at him can have any effect!
- Evil Sounds Deep
- Glasgow Smile: Appears to have one in his shadowy appearance.
- I Will Find You: Threatingly invoked by the Entity as he addresses Kyle in his dream. The Entity: (Arceus) says there's something within you. I'll find you, little Kyle, AND TEAR IT RIGHT OUT OF YOU!
- Red Eyes, Take Warning: One of the only two discernable features of his seen so far on-screen.
- The Darkness Gazes Back

A sinister-looking Gengar that is part of a duo that Kyle and friends encounter in their first encounter with Assimilated Pokémon.

- The Dragon: Presumably to the Entity.
- Evil Sounds Deep
- Red Eyes, Take Warning: Gengar in the post-credits scene of Chapter 2... complete with Scare Chord!
- Voice of the Legion
- You Talk Too Much!: To Kyle as he protests that he has never met Gengar or his Tentacool partner before... leading to Gengar attacking.Gengar: ENOUGH. DIE!!

- Impaled with Extreme Prejudice: How it is finally defeated; with a straight and true Icicle Spear to the head.
- Killed Off for Real: By Glacie in the Pleada Rescue Team jail, with no signs of it coming back anytime soon.
- Posthumous Character: When we first meet it in the story, it is apparently already dead and only living once more due to the Assimilated phenomena.
- The Voiceless
QOWJDKD
- Voiced by: Kurt Scheidler
- Dead Animal Warning: When its corpse is first seen in Chapter 1, it's an easy indicator that this is not your typical Mystery Dungeon experience.
- Impaled with Extreme Prejudice: Meets their end from Glacie's Icicle Spear.
- Killed Off for Real
- Neck Snap: How they were killed. Especially evident in Seth's battle against the Pidgeot, as it unnaturally twists its head back into place briefly.
- Posthumous Character
- Taking You with Me: Of the Do Not Go Gentle variety; digging their beak into Seth's shoulder and infecting him with the Assimilated phenomenon before being killed by Glacie.
