Basically, a thread where you share your ideas for superheroes/supervillains.

Here Goes:

Name: Blip

Alignment: Hard to say. Usually uses his powers for petty theft, but will often help heroes when dealing with a larger threat.

Powers: Can teleport himself and other objects, making a characteristic "blip" sound.

Weaknesses: Can only teleport himself or other objects into spaces not occupied by solid objects, so he can't Tele-Frag an object into someone's head to just kill them. Teleportations also conserve momentum. Quite dumb in the "uneducated" sense.

Backstory: Blip was just another Pretty Fly for a White Guy delinquent, until one day he managed to stumble across a glowing green alien rock tat fell from the sky. Not having too much common sense, he did what anyone would do with a glowing alien rock: He crushed it into powder with another rock and snorted it.

Personality: He thinks he's really cool, but he really, really, isn't. Being rather uneducated, he tends to be quite Book Dumb, and he usually displays a surprising lack of common sense sometimes, but he can be quite clever if he needs to be, sort of implying that he could be rather smart if he was ever given a proper education.

Name: Dead Set

Alignment: Good, though not always easy to tell what kind.

Powers: Has a sort of lucky charm style thing going on, meaning he always gets the best of luck.

Weaknesses: He has a terminal illness that will kill him in no less than a year. Curing the disease will rob him of his powers.

Backstory: He was originally a stuntman who pushed his luck to the fullest everyday. It seemed that he was an immortal among men, until his luck balanced out and he obtained a rare terminal illness. It was then that he decided to use his natural luck to be a hero. If he were to go without his luck and rely solely on skill (Which he has) then he will be cured of the disease, but he believes that it is the luck that makes him a hero.

Personality: Was, at one point, an arrogant asshole, who played with luck all the time. After becoming Dead Set, he became more compassionate and understanding. He also turned to the church to help overcome his drinking addiction. He is also well educated, and very civil. Has an optimistic view on the world, even with his death near.

Name: Icon

Alignment: Lawful Neutral, closer to the "Ubermensch" variety

Powers: Particle manipulation, The ability to start and stop nuclear chain reactions, flight, suitless space travel.

Weaknesses: A certain low-level EMP frequency.

Backstory: A scientist at the height of the Cold War, after a Freak Lab Accident he gained a host of molecular-based powers. The US (?) government tried to turn him into a propaganda tool, an "icon" of the power of their nuclear program, but as the Cold War continued, he became disillusioned and bitter. When war seemed inevitable, he went rogue, declaring a personal war against both sides. Another scientist set up a worldwide radio frequency that nullified his powers within its range, as far as the moon. Now banished from ever setting foot on Earth, he wanders the galaxy, set wrongs right, preventing (or ending) wars, and occasionally returning to his moonbase home, to provide advice to other superheroes, and to watch over Earth from afar.

Personality: Old-school scientist type who believes in science as a force for good and improving people's lives, but with a strong case of both Beware the Nice Ones and Beware the Superman. Not terribly upset about being banished from Earth, as this gives him a chance to discover parts of the universe no other human has ever seen. Although he does sometimes miss home, he has never expressed any regrets about nearly pulling a one-man World War III.

  • Name: Voyevoda

  • Alignment: Mostly Lawful Neutral, occasionally veers into Chaotic Good territory
  • Powers: Generic Super-Soldier setup; above-average healing; able to assess a situation and develop a strategy at about 10x faster than regular folks; slowed aging
  • Weaknesses: Bullets, knives; anything that can kill, actually. He's about five times faster/stronger/tougher than the average Joe, and his uniform is armored, but still...
  • Origin: In the early 70s, he'd graduated the top of his class in Spetsnaz training. His extensive skill had him chosen for the government's "Voyevoda" program, along with 11 other candidates. All of the other volunteers either were killed or driven mad from the process; as a result, because he was the one without any side effects, he was put into "storage" for a few decades, and the project was forgotten. A fictional special-ops agency found out about the project 8 years ago, and unthawed him.
  • Personality: Voyevoda's not even close to being called a patriot. He's a soldier, through and through. Unlike other heroes, he doesn't have the Thou Shalt Not Kill attitude; his attitude is more along the lines of "Only kill if there's no other option."
  • Attire: Imagine Major Ocelot without the beret (costume is essentially Bulletproof Spandex), a domino mask, and a variable-design utility belt/harness (generally, he carries gear depending on what sort of adventure, though his Weapon Of Choice is an FN P90).

This one is a profile I made when I was a kid

Name: Dyen

  • Alignment: Neutral Evil
  • Powers: Claws, teeth, excellent knife skills, deadly silence
  • Weaknesses: weak skin, easily knocked unconscious, awkward movement
  • Origin: Originally a scientist working on a remote island facility, a experiment gone wrong lead to his DNA fusing with that off a Deinonychus, giving him a menacing jaw, a tail, sickle claws, and feathers replacing his hair. After a team had been sent to explore the facility, he attacked and ate the whole team, he escaped to New York, where he haunts the streets
  • Personality: All he really wants to do is eat people and steal things, there really isn't much after that

Name: SJ

Alignment: Chaotic Good

Power: Appropriate Age. Like a shape shifter SJ is an age shifter. He always looks like himself but can become himself at any age. Depending on the situation he can be a four year old boy one min and an 80 year old man the next. Maintains all his memories and skills regardless of age (he can still drive when he's 6) but his personality changes to Mach his age ( hyper when he's 4, crotchety when he's 80)

Weakness: Conscious control takes extreme concentration. If he doesn't concentrate he defaults to "situation appropriate" . Certain people tend to turn him into a child because of his relationship with them.

Backstory: Really 700 Years Old , but only remembers the last 20 years clearly. 20 years ago he was found on the beach naked and unconscious by a bunch of students. They were drunk and he looked like one of their frat brothers so they brought him back with them. He bluffed his way through college ( sometimes as a student sometimes as a professor ) before becoming a spy.

Name: "Hyperion"

Alignment: Chaotic Evil

Backstory: He was a member of a U.S. special ops group whose specific purpose was to deal with rogue superhumans. He was assigned a mission in Vietnam (replaced by a vague Middle Eastern country in a recent alternate continuity) to deal with a Vietcong superhuman named Red Sky. He found the mission almost impossible, how could he eliminate a target that is impossible to tell apart from your allies? He found the bloodshed pointless, and went AWOL, resurfacing a few years later as a supervillain.

Powers: Hyperion's powers are derived from his highly advanced equipment reverse engineered from the Roswell spacecraft. His (dare I say it) "rocket" boots enable him indefinite flight. He has a shamelessly cool-looking mask that acts as both a gas mask and a H.U.D. capable of night vision, infrared, and heat detection. He has a bit of torso armor made from a classified metal that can block bullets and deflect most energy weapons, which he wears under his badass longcoat. His real powers come from a pair of gauntlets that allow him to manipulate energy (orange in color) to either use for blasts or to form simple objects (the objects he can form are limited to what he has programmed into his gauntlets).

Weakness(es): Being tech-based, his gear can briefly malfunction if hit by a strong enough E.M.P. blast. He is also prone to Armor Piercing Questions.

Attire: His clothing is mainly black, with his gear being a generic metallic color. Various parts on his gear glow orange.

Personality: Hyperion (primarily his original incarnation) is often depicted as viewing normal humans as being self destructive idiots and thinks of himself as the only sane man. He has a stoic-seeming demeanor and often seems emotionless.

Note(s): In the main continuity, he has legacy immortality.

Name: Anubis

Alignment: Lawful Evil —> Chaotic Neutral

Backstory: Anubis was raised on the colony planet of Serius 4 in the wake of Bachian victory in the Pleiadan wars over Earth. Raised with a deep resentment of the Bachians and the weak humans they cared so much about, he enlisted in the imperial fleet of Typhon, quickly rising among the ranks. He then built an invasion force to conquer Earth, destroy the [[Eldritch Abomination]] that shattered his people's home planet of Typhon, and eliminate any Bachians that might get in his way.

Powers: Superior strength, speed, endurance, and lifespan to those of humans. Mechanical wing-like contraptions on his armor can provide him with flight. Dual wields two energy sabers.

Appearance: like Most Typhonians, he is VERY tall, has long arms ending with clawed hands. Has thin, powerful legs similar to wolves. His head has two long horn-like growths and an enlongated snout. His skin is a very dark black with glowing orange eyes. His Armor is mostly a dark maroon color. He also has a draconic tail.

Name: Forever Man

Alignment: true neutral

Powers: His body 'resets' every five seconds, making him immortal. In addition, anything inside his body at the time of rest is destroyed

Weaknesses: Because his body constantly resets, he is incapable of becoming any stronger or faster. As a result, Forever Man is in no better shape than the average man on the street - in fact, he may be worse off. He also feels everything that happens to him, at least until the next reset.

Origin: At some time, roughly 200 years ago, Forever Man was captured by a being he refers to as a 'god', and used in an experiment in time manipulation. The experiment was successful, and as a result his body emits a constant time stasis field, causing his rests. Unfortunately, the god in question was acting counter to the will of his race, who now want Forever Man dead - tricking or forcing him into every major catastrophe over the last 200 years as a result.

Personality: Forever Man is almost perpetually angry and paranoid - he wants nothing more in life than to be left alone, but circumstance refuses to let this happen. He doesn't care about 'justice' at all, he just has the poor luck to be caught in bad situations, and beating up a bank robber is better than being shot. In addition, he loathes and distrusts all cats, as this is the form that the gods tend to take when on earth.

Technically I thought up this character last night but I just made up his origin on the spot.

Name: Coyote

Alignment: I don't do alignments, but if I were, I imagine it'd probably be Neutral Good.

Powers: Coyote has a vast array of abilities and powers at his disposal. To name a few, he's very difficult to injure when he doesn't want to be injured. He can teleport or move at great speeds as meets his goals at the time. He is very very strong when he feels the need to be so. He is an extremely powerful shape-shifter, and is not bound by traditional applications of conservation of mass, however, he is not an especially good actor, so he can't really use disguises very well.

Most prominent of his abilities is that of deception. As the god of deceit, Coyote can tell you the sky is green, the grass is pink and you're actually a tree and you would believe him as surely as if they were true.

Origin: The oldest thing living in the world, Coyote was the god of deceit in The Time of Myths. Much like with the other gods and many lesser beings from this time, his name has been used in many mortal mythologies since then, rarely with any accuracy. Coyote was not a Trickster. He was, in fact basically the complete opposite and as such greatly resents being thought of as such.

Where a trickster questions and mocks authority, Coyote was deeply dedicated to the leadership of his grandfather, the king of the gods. He discouraged impulsiveness and excessive enthusiasm, believing that it is better to think deeply before making any move.

He has actively suppressed many new ideas and inventions in the development of the world, and greatly delayed others by many centuries. He believes that mortals are deeply flawed and his goals are to limit their actions as much as he possibly can. He has made numerous attempts over the millennia to directly seize control of the world, but always finds himself stopped by various methods employed by heroes that would otherwise be vastly inferior to him.

Lewis Cassidy, a concerned citizen; and Howard Long, a red-blooded American

Inspired by the novel "Brave Men Run", where metahumans are immediately declared by their most powerful fellows to be a sovereign legal entity from world governments during the initial reveal of superpowers in the 1980's, this pair embodies my typical Devil's Advocate reaction. Appropriate for any setting with a recent trigger event or reveal of superpowers.

Intrinsic contrarians, when metahumans start declaring themselves set apart from "norms" (even the benevolent ones, choosing to police themselves), Cassidy and Long did what any establishmentarians automatically opposed to counterculture would do - they volunteered to be the government's first (public) metas.

An odd couple/action pair, Cassidy is a white collar anglo-american who detests lawlessness and dissent while Long is a blue collar african-american who takes patriotism very seriously. Together They Fight Crime/Mutant Scum.

Cassidy, being the more physically frail and the priggish unlikeable equivalent of a Sensitive Guy of the two, of course has the highly physical power of being able to alter the solidity (one would usually say density, but I'm just guessing Density Does Not Work That Way) and weight of objects (for a limited duration) by touching them (he can break contact and let the duration run its course). Senators love to have the exertion of gravity upon them lessened temporarily, and increasing or decreasing someone's solidity (including your own) is a great way to make them temporarily invulnerable to most harm. There's also a plethora of nasty ways to kill someone, the usual density-shifter tricks used by comics supes like the Martian Manhunter, along with removing someone's weight completely so they fall off the face of the earth, or increasing someone's weight tremendously without making the more solid (which is basically a great way to destroy things and not much else).

Long, a former mechanic and war veteran with lots of useful skills befitting a Manly Man Action Guy before volunteering, gains a power set most useful for investigation and defense: The ability to see through solid matter, selectively. Matter is mostly empty space after all, and Long can see it all for the swirling clusters of atoms it really is. This is not only a great way to spot hidden objects and persons and scan a crowd or area, but also allows him to spot the use of superpowers (some strange atomic activity most definitely). Most oddly, by observing patterns in the constant exchanges between the atoms in all objects (everything always is exchanging atoms with everything around it), Long seems able to predict an event or action in his line of sight/immediate area before it actually happens (the idea that atoms fluctuate weirdly when someone is about to make a big move or when rocks are about to fall is just something I'm guessing/making up).

Together the two work as bodyguards, investigators, button men, and general conspicuously pro-authority superhumans in FBI style suits and shades.

Have two for the rpice of ONE!

• Name: Klownagorgon

• Alignment: Chaotic awesome.

• Powers: Insane rate of regerantion. A shape-shifter, and a biological war factory, capable of spewing/eating fire, spurting tentacles, or making candy-Razor Floss in equal measure. Can fit himself inside microscopic spaces, has perfect balance, and can juggle at such a rate it allows quintuple wielding. The full extent of his powers is not known, but provided it’s vaguely clown/candy-like and is around the [[Prototype Alex Mercer]] level, he can do it.

• Weakness: Apparently has one, but it isn’t known and he’s not telling. Yes, really. Stop asking.

• Backstory: While it is likely idle boasting, Klownagorgon claims to be an ex-god, dethroned from heaven by the callous upstart Yahweh, and says he is over two thousand years old. All that is real known is that he was located inside an extra-dimensional castle for several centuries, and has finally been unsealed.

• Personality: Unsurprisingly, Klownagorgon is a figure of fun and belittles friends and foes alike with incessant jokes and taunts, and has a bad habit of changing or keeping on topic depending on what is more annoying. Despite this, he is quick to give both advice and credit where it is due, and seems to want to rebuild his “kingdom”, whatever that may be. At the few times you have truly offended him, you probably won’t know until your blood spontaneously turns into molten surocouse.

• Attire: an old, ragged top-hat, and a disheveled ringmaster outfit, that has been elongated, making it a sort of trench coat. Huge feet, and has white skin, with a bright-red nose and horns that poke out though his hat. his mouth is a size too large full of flat, elephant-like teeth, and he has no eyes, although the place were they would be is hidden by the hat. His costume is merely a construct of his shapshifting, and thus can change at will.

• Name: Black Suit(s)

• Alignment: Any lawful.

• Powers: enhanced speed, strength and resilience. Not able too keep pace with the best of them, but certainly enough to exceed the rest of them. The main superpower of these guys is the fact they never come alone and the squads are as a whole and to a man are completely unflappable.

• Weakness: are not authorized to use heavy weaponry, which is highly limiting as they could easily utilize tank rounds. Also, as stated earlier, cannot match blow-to-blow with the best, and so have trouble against the most powerful meta-humans, even in teams.

• Backstory: A development made by the Australian Govement, blacksuits are a method devised to make an affordable method of rapid response and countering supers. Rather than the standard Armed-To-The-Gills Power Armor, Blacksuits have a bare-bones suit which just proved more strength and the resistance to back it up, aiming for quantity rather than quality. The result was an overwhelming success, as while many supervillains could easily beat them in a fair, one-on-one fight, they often do not prepare for being blindsided by about five of these brutes at once.

• Personality: Varies, although they are all devoted to their jobs one way or another.

• Attire: look like regular people in completely black motorcycle suits, with helmets, until one catches up to and suplexes the guy who just picked up and flew off with the bank you work at.

'''Jabberwock'''

Alignment: Lawful Good with a side helping of Chaotic Good occassionally.

Powers: has the ability to insert or remove particles she calls "mysterions" into herself or other living beings or objects. Using the mysterions, she can telepathically increase or decrease the size of an object by "stuffing" it with more particles or removing particles naturally inside the object. As long as the particles are present and active, she can, for all intents and purposes, negate the square-cube law. By removing mysterions very quickly after enlarging an object, she can basically vaporize the object in question before its atoms can reconnect. Turning off the particles in an enlarged being is another matter entirely. While there is a point of saturation, she can enlarge most objects to around ten times their regular size and decrease their size by an equal amount. Because the mysterions act as a bridge and support system between atoms and may or may not actually exist the weight of the object does not change.

Weaknesses: because her powers require her to focus, she's useless in combat without backup or a distraction. Providing support is also somewhat limited aside from enlarging her allies' weapons or raising a barrier out of the surrounding environment, as there are villains who can negate super powers, so until the team fully identifies the enemy, she works in the background. Her powers also require a direct line of sight to work, are limited by how clearly she can see the object, and take effect somewhat slowly. Also, because the mass and weight of the resized object doesn't change, she is forced to balance between evading notice and the ability to move. Her powers also stop working when part of the object is separated from the rest; e.g., a blob of living radioactive ooze dividing in two or a giant robot getting its arm/autonomously-firing laser cannon cut off.

Backstory: Was once an Ordinary High-School Student -slash- mild Cloud Cuckoolander until a mysterious, untitled book fell out of the sky in front of her. The book refused to open despite her best efforts, so she began to experiment, with the string of experiments ending when she wrapped a wire around the book and tied the other end to a lightining rod in the hope that the massive release of energy would prompt the book to open. It did. After several vicious instances at her school, she dropped out sophomore year and applied for a superhero squad in a nearby city. She passed the required written and physical with flying colors.

Personality: First and foremost, she's prone to ridicuously dramatic- but nuncommon- mood swings, partially because of the book's effects and partially because of the lighting bolt that struck her when she was sitting patiently in front of the book. During her relatively sane moments, she's very interested in experimentation (from a safer distance), training with the rest of her Five-Man Band, and promoting said superhero team's image by rescuing cats from trees. Out of combat, she dislikes her powers because they tend to activate whenever she gets upset or angry; she can start an argument at her roughly five-foot height and end at around fifteen feet; about One Head Taller than The Big Guy. When she's under control, she acts like a peppier version of a Deadpan Snarker.

Attire: As a side effect of exposure to the Tome of Eldritch Lore, her normally blonde hair is now a faint shade of lavender and repels all dyes. The whites of her eyes and her irises are a similar color and disintigrate contacts on contact. She wears a loose, black, poncho-like shirt over a loose, black t-shirt and shorts, and wears velcro-strap sandals unless it's too cold, in which case she wears several pairs of wool socks. She also carries a pair of water-repelling, shatterproof goggles for use in combat situations, and a pair of binoculars for long-range missions.

Name: Michael Frost

Alignment: Lawful Neutral/Chaotic Good

Powers: Flying Brick — Flight, Super Srength, Super Speed, Energy Beams (not restricted to or even normally generated from eyes), Teleportation (via FTL), (literal) Made of Iron, and Functional Immortality (ageless but killable through physical action).

Backstory: Frost is a "Knight," common name for superpowered individuals created by, in humans anyhow, a starship accident. At least, that's the official story. They actually share a symbiotic relationship with the precursors, who Ascended to a Higher Plane of Existence but run what they call "The Cycle," a deadly game involving intentional guiding of Technology Levels and using interstellar nations as pawns in wars of conquest to see which species will lead the rest to ascension. Knights are superheroes trapped in a Space Opera, and so resorted to toppling the Earth governments to create a One World Order to lead humanity to the stars. Frost is the human military leader (Knights are the commanders of said military), and he tries to balance the precursors' desires and inter-Knight politicking with the well-being of his species. Knights pretend to be superheroes to control public opinion, but they're really career soldiers and won't hesitate to sacrifice civilians to win a war. (It's a deconstruction of superhero comics and space operas).

I'll start by linking this thread in which I wrote about two superheroes, this thread in which I modified one of the two, and, for the hell of it, my setting description (extremely dense.) I'll do a new one for this thread, though:

Walker never wanted to be a hero. He wanted to go to college, maybe be a lawyer. But his family was poor, and it took a lot of unpleasant things to fund his education. On the day that a lovely young researcher injected his arm with an unusual liquid, he was thinking not of the money she was paying him, but rather of the violent deaths of her, the other researchers, and everyone else in the general vicinity.

He was as surprised as anyone else when her hair burst into flames.

He was out of college and into the police force almost immediately. Standard procedure: freaks of his type were always vigilantes or murderers, and if they refused to work within the law, they were confined so that they couldn't work outside it. There could be no protestation that he wasn't like the others, that the experiment had not shown his true nature, but only a side of himself that he kept carefully restrained. Many people fear him, but even those he works with do not trust him.

It is one of the ironies of his life that his only advocate is a young scientist with a burn scar.

Firewalker can light any flammable substance from a substantial distance. He cannot extinguish it or control its spread, and he is not immune to burns. In a violent situation, he's much more likely to pull out his police baton than to make use of this ability, though it has saved his life upon occasion.

Name: Sol N Iger (Black Sun)

Alignment: Dickish Evil

Powers: Originally possessed minor psychokinetic powers and an enhanced biology giving him super strength, healing, reflexes etc. along with a more efficient metabolism. They have since been enhanced by numerous biological, magical and technological breakthroughs to give him incredibly powerful versions of his regular powers and additional ones such as energy manipulation.

Weaknesses: Above enhancements to his powers. Paranoia about them being exploited making him cautious of and fearful around science and magic super villains.

Origin: Originally a regular troubled hero his powers manifesting as a better than base-line humanity gave him a superiority complex. When he was quickly marginalized in a battle with a magically based super villain it made him think, not in a good way. He became obsessed with becoming better and didn't care where or how he improved. Most of his enhancements have come by collaborating and stealing from the creations of others.

Personality: Completely self-interested Sol is officially a hero because he figured that working with good super scientists would give him access to more technology. He does moonlight occasionally under aliases for super villains but only long enough to steal their latest projects and defeat them as his baseline personality. When not fighting super crime he will be fighting regular crime or just fighting in whatever war he can. He enjoys participating in wars because it gives him more lee way in doing whatever he damn well feels like to enemy combatants. Mundane criminals have a lower casualty rate but he does like to experiment whenever he has a new or improved power, or when he feels like having some fun. Common experiments include giving people cancer, blood clots, rendering them sterile, invasive psychokinetic vivisection, seeing what happens when he punches them really hard and removing memories and altering psyches. Someday he plans to stop hiding his fun but for the foreseeable future he wants to wait and improve himself. He'll probably make his move during or after some catastrophic world changing event. He also wet the bed until he was a teenager which will not bode well for you if you find out.

Name: Morrigan Alignment: neutral evil Powers:can form black horned, toothsome, six eyed and four winged bird like creatures from darkness called Dark Valkyrie that can teleport themselves and others through darkness as well as gestalt with others of their kind to create stronger dark Valkyrie with stronger darkness based abilities and is capable of wrapping herself in the form of a huge dark Valkyrie and using its powers. Gestalt dark Valkyrie can return and reform from their component flock and regular dark Valkyrie have limited shape shifting not exceeding nor decreasing their mass; most commonly used to convert their horns, teeth and additional wings into feathers and a more conventional crow apearance. All dark valkyrie are split off from the original their mass taken from it though often not imediatley noticable as most of the originals mass is stored within the mind of the host so that its body doesn't dwarf cities. The original though not needing to feed for sustenace, will feed on the dead causing its mass to grow and if the corpse had powers in life, gain a shadowy weaker imitation of it. The original when first created was the size of the her. Dark Valkyrie must feed on the dead to crave their hunger while away from the prime form and without it will vanish in wisps of smoke. Can acces their senses. Weaknesses: A constant supply of corpses if wishing to use the smaller dark Valkyrie for a prolonged number of time. Backstory: gained powers through the usual way in the setting. Donned the form of the primary dark Valkyrie which she had named The Morrigan which morphed to create a shadowy black feathered, winged cloak with a crow shaped hood to the belt of which she tied skulls from a mass grave she had The Morrigan devour . Suitably stylish in her new clothing she begun to attack multiple banks at once through her flocks only to have them all teleport herself with them away simultaneously to the least defended bank while the heroes forces were spread too thin, brute force her way through the vault doors and have her dark Valkyrie collect large sums of cash and slip quite literally into the shadows and return to her home before the heroes could react in various hit and run attacks. Eventually the heroes grew wise to such tactics and prepared countermeasures. The Morrigan now a well established super villain was recruited into the black regents a super villain team with ambitions of taking over the city. At this point she is now third in seniority to the infamous nare-do-wells.

Sorry I didn't realise it would be so illegible I'm adding spaces and fixing some word mistakes.

The Masked Marksman

Powers: None (Badass Normal with precision targeting skills and expertise in ranged weaponry)

Backstory: Actually an inter-dimensional being stuck in human form due to amnesia, The Marksman doesn't know his own identity, and believes himself human.

Fighting Style: The Masked Marksman uses a variety of weapons including blowguns with poison tipped darts, throwing knives, bows and arrows, cross bows and grappler guns. He has an intense dislike of firearms but will use them if absolutely necessary.

Personality Traits: The Masked Marksman believes he is a human being who lost his memory, although he in fact is not native to Earth or even to this universe. As such, he has a hard time grasping moral ambiguity and tends to impose absolutes of right and wrong. He has enough humility, however, to trust the experiences and opinions of others, as he doesn't have a human-like ego to protect. He is a vigilante who prefers not to kill in his crusade to protect the inhabitants of Philadelphia from crime and corruption. He is a practiced marksman, having been interested in the art even before he lost his memory on Earth and woke up thinking he was human. In his native form he's a reality warper but as a human he must learn and practice skills. Marksmanship is his game. He's constructed variants of crossbow weapons including a kind of sniper rifle and an automatically reloading revolver style crossbow. He also distills different chemical mixtures to fill the tips of the darts he uses with his blowgun. Since he doesn't like to kill, he usually dilutes frog venom or another neurotoxin with saline to produce a stunning effect.

Vehicle: He has a fifteen-year old black Monte Carlo with a 2009 Challenger's engine, and various counter-pursuit/area denial measures like tire-popping shrapnel or small firebombs launched from the back.

Lair: Lives mostly in sewers and abandoned subway stations, he's something of a nomad, living one place for a few weeks before moving on, so no one can find him. His lair contains his workshop, armory and practice area, as well as a roll of surplus army bedding. He knows the tunnels underground enough that he can pop up pretty much anywhere that the sewers and subways extend, for example the shed where he keeps his Monte Carlo.

Quirks: Eats salty, fatty foods but never gains weight; does not appear to age. His favorite food is the Philadelphia Cheesesteak, which he orders with hot peppers and tabasco sauce. He can only tolerate very spicy food, except for when he drinks ketchup straight from the bottle. He also drinks Dr. Pepper with a generous helping of tabasco sauce. He enjoys Indian, Pakistani and African cuisine.

Physical Features: Medium-height, swarthy, wears gray to blend in, and a long black coat while "on duty." Physically fit but not imposing, more sleek and elusive. As a marksman, he prefers to strike from a distance, but he can handle himself well in a fight (he's not adverse to knives or brass knuckles). He has mismatched eyes: one blue, one green. He keeps his black hair cut short and usually wears a wide-brimmed black hat.

"Wire"

Background: a middle class young man, well educated and of good character, Walter ("Wire") is a latent Technopath who has always been intuitive with technology. After college, his abilities take on a new flavor: he becomes able to wirelessly access digital devices with his mind. After meeting another person like himself and learning that there is a support network for "Technopaths," he tries to stay under the radar of AGENCY, a secret paramilitary group that is trying to harness abilities like his own to direct the future of human evolution.

Powers: Technopathy. Can interface wirelessly with and manipulate digital devices like phones, cameras, computers, etc. Is able to use this ability to create false identities for himself and impersonate others. Able to alter any digital records. Essentially has control over information. He can make it seem like someone's been wrongly imprisoned in order to get them released or obtain the credentials necessary to sneak into a guarded facility. Can render digital devices inoperable without physical contact. Also has an eidetic (photographic) memory, though it's not clear if this is related to his abilities or not.

Drawbacks: Microwave ovens give him headaches, as does riding on a bus with multiple people listening to their MP 3 players at the same time.

Lair: For much of his story he is on the run but eventually ends up holed up in a compound near Juarez, Mexico, allied with a group of Mexican revolutionaries (whose leader he had previously impersonated) and in the company of others like himself (Technopaths).

Costume: None. Regular street clothes.

Just a general Free Idea:

Y'know how most superheroes and supervillains are tied to a specific type or source of power? (Gods, Science, Badass Normals, Super-Strong Aliens...)

Here's the idea: A Superhero story with superpowers based on a "Fairy Tale" theme.

Yes, that is pretty much Urban Fantasy. No, I don't care. It's still awesome.

I like the fairy tale idea. What about a villain named geppetto that can create and alter the biology withing a doll, stuffed animal or puppet and turn them into a living breathing version loyal to him. A real boy if you would. No!not like that!... Perv.

I've always wanted to write a character who can phase between different alternate realities.
