Also known as "The Organization." Their plan is to spread poverty, war, and discrimination throughout the world, slipping into positions of power within various countries as merchants, political advisers, or court ladies.

- Dark Is Evil: Their power source, weapons, armor, and even their djinn are all black.
- The Dark Side: And like any good dark side, they totally don't see themselves that way.
- Devil in Plain Sight: Honestly. What ruler in his right mind would trust such a sketchy group of people to be honest advisers? None of them even show their faces at first.
- Dystopia Justifies the Means: All because they want to Screw Destiny.
- Enemy to All Living Things: They spread and feed off of black Rukh, which is basically malicious emotional energy.
- Fallen Hero: Many of them risked their lives to protect the world of Alma Torran and were Solomon's allies, if not his friends. Now they are the ones who betrayed Solomon and started the war that would ultimately destroy Alma Torran. Some of these former allies; like Ithnan, Falan, Wahid, Arba and Markkio, are now even members of Al-Thamen.
- Go Mad from the Revelation: In Alma Torran, many of them were already broken as a result of losing their families in the final battle, but when they consequently discover the true meaning and nature of destiny from Ill Ilah; of how they are merely finite beings powerless to change their fate, they completely lose it, complete with Broken Tears and I'm Crying, but I Don't Know Why being shown. Even after Solomon erases Ill Ilah's "destiny", they are convinced they are now trapped in Solomon's "prison", which leads to them rebelling against him. Eventually many of them formed Al-Thamen, with their sole goal as being to defy fate and destiny at whatever the cost. They still fail to realize they are actually surrendering to Ill Ilah's destiny of suffering and bringing darkness wherever they go.
- In the Hood: Fairly often.
- Made a Slave: Using Belials magic Hakuryuu enslaves most of Al Thamen through their dolls, turning them into his pawns.
- The Man Behind the Man: How they operate. They infiltrate countries, find the most tragic and/or gullible figure, turn them, and then turn them loose on their revenge quests.
- Moral Myopia: If its doctrine is to be believed, Al-Thamen thinks it's doing good. This despite the fact that they deliberately go about causing suffering and destruction everywhere they go, and call anyone who doesn't share their fallacy "arrogant."
- Rule of Symbolism: All of the members begin with hoods or hair obscuring their eyes. The men also wear headdresses secured by thorny crowns.
- Screw Destiny: Their main goal. Deconstructed in that their way to do it destroys other people's livelihoods. Furthermore, the destiny which they are defying is actually Solomon's wish for everyone to be free. The higher-ups of Al-Thamen don't really want to screw destiny, they want to embrace it. By inviting Ill Ilah into the world.
- Screw This, I'm Outta Here: Arba is the only member not brainwashed and abandons the group to its fate to serve Sinbad.
- Sealed Evil in a Can: Solomon trapped them all in another dimension, but unfortunately they became beings formed by thoughts and came to Magi's world in order to destroy Solomon's world once again.
- Secret Circle of Secrets: In their secret meetings they even stand in concentric circles!
- Smug Super: All of the hosts of dark metal vessels are incredibly arrogant about it, even though, thus far, they have been shown as completely inferior to normal metal vessels (and even some household vessels). Not to mention the fact that such people were the ones unable to pass the test for real metal vessels.
- Unwitting Pawn: The God they worship and seek to bring into the world has been usurped long in the past and its power made into David's. All their actions from the moment they betrayed Solomon played right into his hands.
- What Is Evil?: Al-Thamen views itself as being a noble organization, attempting to free the world as it is now from "enslavement"; rather than an organization set out to destroy peace and order, and spread destruction and conflict. This viewpoint is considerably more disturbing once it becomes evident that should they succeed in "inviting their father" to the world, they will have killed everybody, including themselves, and they KNOW it.
Arba
The leader and founder of Al-Thamen, under the identity of Ren Gyokuen. She originally was one of Solomon's three Magi and Solomon's most trusted follower, until she betrayed him in favour of Ill Ilah.
Voiced by: Miki Itō (Japanese)
- Abusive Parents: While she possessed Ren Gyokuen she was the one who abused Hakuryuu and had his older siblings killed off. She also possesses Hakuei.
- Adaptation Dye-Job: Brown hair in the manga, black hair in the anime.
- Artificial Human: She says she comes from a line of magicians that were created to serve the council of elders. Sheba mentioned that Arba said she was created by Elder David long ago.
- Ax-Crazy
- Badass Boast:Arba/Gyokuen: "In the previous world, the strongest magician was the king, but the strongest swordsman was me!"
- Barrier Warrior: Fights via protecting herself with a very powerful bolg. Her bolg is powerful enough to repel a full Djinn equipped Hakuryuu, because she's a Magi loved by black Rukh. On top of that she even copied Sheba's magic, distorting her bolg into an 8-headed hydra.
- Berserk Button: She's already an Ax-Crazy nutjob, but when she's told she doesn't have faith in anything; she goes full on insane, ranting against Solomon for supposedly creating a world where no one can see or hear her beloved god, "Father" Ill Ilah, which she considers the only thing to have true faith in.
- Big Bad: She acts as the main antagonist for most of the series, as she's the leader of the evil organization Al-Thamen. However, after Hakuryuu kills her vessel and takes her throne, Arba gets Demoted to Dragon to Sinbad/David.
- Bitch in Sheep's Clothing: She acts sweet and kind, but she soon reveals herself as twisted, sadistic and manipulative.
- Black Eyes of Crazy: She disturbingly shows these in her craziest moments.
- Body Surf: She transformed into thoughts to come to Solomon's world. First, she uses Ren Gyokuen as her vessel. After Hakuryuu kills Gyokuen's body, Arba takes over the body of Ren Hakuei, Hakuryuu's sister. When Hakuryuu asked her how she picked her vessel, she blatantly answered that she has to possess bodies with her genes and have to birth them, meaning if her previous vessel gets too old, she has to move on to her child. She can also possess her son if there is no daughter available.
- Braids of Action: She has two long braids.
- Cain and Abel: The Cain to Solomon's Abel.
- Close-Call Haircut: One of her braids gets cut off during her battle with Sheba. This, coupled with her stealing Sheba's staff and crown, gives her the look of the traitor Magi from Gyokuen's flashback.
- Cool Big Sis: According to Ithnan, Arba was kind of like a surrogate sister to Sheba after she officially joined the resistance. She could be considered a literal example towards Solomon, as they kinda share the same "father". Well, that was until she betrayed them.
- Crocodile Tears: Her tears are as fake as they come.
- Cute and Psycho: She seems sweet, kind and lovely at first glance, but she's actually an Ax-Crazy Psycho Supporter who wants to destroy the world in the name of Ill Ilah.
- Dark Action Girl: She is psychotic, twisted, brutal, malicious and wasn't known as the second strongest member of Solomon's resistance and Alma Torran's best swordwoman for nothing.
- Deflector Shield: She is capable of using a very powerful, bolg.
- Demoted to Dragon: After Hakuryuu kills her vessel and Sinbad is revealed to have a connection to David/Ill Ilah, Arba, now possessing Hakuei's body, decides to become Sinbad's subordinate because nothing gives Arba more pleasure than serving an incarnation of Ill Illah.
- Dissonant Serenity: Kills, what turns out to be a fake David, with the same warm motherly smile she always has and gently lays him on the floor while telling him goodbye. Did we mention, her way of killing him was stabbing him through the mouth and cutting the top of his head off?
- Dying Declaration of Hate: Spends her final moments in Alma Torran declaring that she hates Solomon and that she will destroy everything he created, even if all that remains of her is her consciousness.
- Eerie Pale-Skinned Brunette: Becomes this after falling into depravity.
- Evil Former Friend:
- Solomon considered her his most trusted companion, but in the end she betrayed him and now wants to destroy his new world.
- Also to Sheba. Arba wasn't just a friend to her, she was her mother/sister figure that she adored. How their bond fell apart and Arba ended up brutally killing Sheba without hesitation is really depressing.
- Evil Is Hammy: She normally plays the Soft-Spoken Sadist but when Ill Ilah descends upon Magnostadt, she throws her arms in the air, tears streaming down her cheeks and loudly welcomes her "father". She acted the same when she killed Sheba.
- Evil Matriarch: She was Solomon and Sheba's mother figure. After starting her rebellion, she destroys the utopia Solomon always dreamt of and blames Solomon for everything and kills Sheba to "free" her of the "fake god's" control. Then in the new world, in order to obtain a vessel that matched her soul so that she can maintain her power, be it magical or physical she had to birth them and possessed her own child if her previous vessel have grown too old. She can possess men too if there is no daughter available at any generation, something that she attempted to do on Hakuryuu.
- Face–Heel Turn
- Face of an Angel, Mind of a Demon: In one glance you would never expect her to be so truly twisted.
- Facial Markings: She has a Third Eye on her forehead, like the rest of Alma Torran's human magicians. When she destroys Alma Torran in rebellion, it then changes to being the three black dots that all of Al-Thamen have.
- Fallen Hero: None of them fell harder than Arba, who was once one of Solomon's most beloved followers and trusted friends. After he took Ill Ilah's place, Arba grew to hate Solomon and thus started a rebellion.
- False Friend: She was this to Solomon and the entire resistance. She only joined Solomon and pretended to be loyal to him and his cause so she could kill Elder David, as she knew he was too powerful for her. Once they defeated David and Solomon took over Ill Ilah's place, Arba betrayed him.
- Familial Body Snatcher: Takes the bodies of her own daughters (and attempted to take Hakuryuu's at one point, showing she's not limited to just the females) and has been doing this for at least three generations.
- Faux Affably Evil
- Four Is Death: Her name means "four" in Arabic.
- The Fundamentalist: Arba is fanatically dedicated to Ill Ilah.
- Gone Horribly Right: In her own warped way, Arba raised Hakuryuu to be strong and independent. After more positive influences come into his life, he shows his mother how well she did by disowning her. Arba appears genuinely hurt by this, and it's one of the only times in the series where her behaviour has any consequences.
- Hazy-Feel Turn: Ends up having one of sorts, mostly because she is completely lost on what to do since she can't hear Il Ilah anymore. She follows Sinbad's orders, since her other option is David, whom she hates for stealing power from her god.
- Hearing Voices: Claims that she spent her entire life guided by the voice of Ill Ilah.
- The Heavy: She's the Magi who betrayed Solomon as well as the leader and founder of Al-Thamen. However, later in the series Hakuryuu kills her vessel and Sinbad/David reveals himself as the real main villain.
- Hypocrite: She claims she only has faith in Ill Ilah and wanted to kill both Elder David and Solomon for trying to steal its power. Then when she finds out David succeeded at taking over Ill Ilah, instead of getting mad Arba becomes Sinbad/David's loyal follower because they are essentially one with her god now.
- Intergenerational Friendship: Since she was the oldest, she had this going with all the members of the rebellion; but as she clearly has a stronger and closer bond with Solomon, they have a Like Brother and Sister kind of relationship.
- Irony: Opposed David and Solomon as they had both sought to usurp her her god Ill Ilah yet she never realizes that David succeeded and that she was effectively following David's will.
- Karma Houdini: When all is said and done, she escapes the story with little more than a child form and no real consequences for her actions.
- Knight Templar: Being a self-righteous, psychotic fanatic, Arba sees her horrible actions as the right thing to do, as she wants to destroy a "fake" world that should have never existed and free people from the control of a "fake god".
- Kung-Fu Wizard: She, like Myers, likes to train her body even when other considered it unnecessary because they're magicians.
- Like Brother and Sister: She had this relationship with Solomon back in their days in the resistance. And since Arba was created by David, she could indeed be considered his sister. But that close sibling-like bond was destroyed by her betrayal.
- Magic Knight: Not only she is very powerful as Solomon's main party back in Alma Torran, she is also Alma Torran's Best Swordsman.
- Magic Staff: Used one in her time as a Magi, and gets it back when she reveals her true identity.
- Manipulative Bitch: Not surprising given that she's the leader of Al-Thamen, after all.
- Master Actor: Sinbad compliments her acting skills after she tricks everyone into thinking she's dead and takes over Hakuei's body.
- Master Swordswoman: She was the strongest swordsman in all of Alma Toran, and even taught Solomon melee combat. Her skills haven't rusted at all even she haven't use her sword skill for millennia.
- The McCoy: As one of Solomon's three Magi. In contrast to the loyal Queen Sheba and the conflicted Ugo, Arba's fanatic obsession with Ill Ilah made it impossible for her accept what Solomon did and formed Al-Thamen in order to destroy his "fake world".
- Mistaken for Romance: She and Solomon at first seem to be a thing and Sheba even thought they were meant to be together and didn't stand a chance against Arba. However, it's later made clear that Arba's relationship with Solomon is more sibling-like; and Arba is in fact the one who tells Sheba to marry Solomon, not seeming to have any problem with it.
- Not in This for Your Revolution: She served in Solomon's resistance not for the sake of his cause, but just so she could get the chance to kill Elder David herself and stop him from stealing Ill Ilah's power. After her betrayal, she admits to Solomon that she never cared about creating an equal world and unlike him who came to love every single being equally, she was only was doing what Ill Ilah told her to do.
- Not Quite Dead: Despite Hakuryuu killing Gyokuen's body, Arba is able to take over Hakuei to further her goals.
- Not So Above It All: She at first seems like the most level-headed and mature member of La Résistance. Then she's revealed to be a psychotic fanatic who is ready to betray her companions and destroy the world in the name of Il Illah.
- Not So Stoic: When she acknowledges Sheba's jealousy towards her she does so in a flat matter of fact way, but when Sheba tells her she herself dislikes feeling that way and still loves Arba, Arba's eyes fill with tears, proving it really did bother her that Sheba was resenting her.
- Offing the Offspring: Arba cut down Sheba, her surrogate daughter, and took her stave, sealing Arba's final step into becoming the monstrous Gyokuen.
- Older Than She Looks: Despite looking no older than twenty, she's the eldest of the resistance's main group. She's later revealed to be about 100 years old.
- The Only One I Trust: While she is not the only person he trusts, Solomon admits that she is the one who he trusts most in this world. Which makes her ultimate betrayal even more ironic.
- Parasitic Immortality: Arba has secretly manipulated the rise of the Kou Empire (the manga's equivalent of ancient China) to generate wars, distress, and chaos across the world. In order to keep an eye on the royal family, she created a spell to take over the bodies of certain members of the Imperial family, allowing her to keep so reincarnating in the bodies of its female members, overwriting their personalities. She does this with the current empress, Ren Gyokuen, and after her death, she possesses Ren Hakuei, Gyokuen's daughter. Even when she's forcibly expelled from her body she tries to take over the body of her son Hakuryu.
- Parental Substitute: Sheba considered her the closest thing she ever had to a mother, and it's implied that she also was a surrogate mother to Solomon. It's tragic that her relationship with both of them ended up on such bad terms.

- Psycho Supporter: She is this for Ill Ilah; to the point where she is prepared to destroy the world and everything else which Solomon and she had fought to build, just so she that can restore Il Ilah to its former glory and punish Solomon for his supposed "arrogance."
- Rebellious Rebel: She was one of Solomon's first allies in his revolt against the Magician Orthodox, but she later led a rebellion against him in turn, and destroyed everything that they had fought together to build.
- Red Eyes, Take Warning: She doesn't actually have red eyes, however whenever she shows her twisted side her eyes glow red.
- Sanity Slippage: After Solomon replaced Ill Ilah, Arba effectively lost her sanity.
- Sarcastic Devotee: Her role as Solomon's support was going around calling out his flaws and failures to keep him humble. Subverted as she ultimately betrayed him after he became too "arrogant".
- Satanic Archetype: She was a former ally, trusted friend and paragon of God (Solomon) who led a rebellion within Heaven (Alma Torran) along with other Fallen Angels (Al-Thamen), which subsequently led to its total destruction. Not to mention that since Asian symbolism assigns light to masculinity (again Solomon), and darkness to femininity (namely Arba); then she fits this trope very well indeed.
- Shipper on Deck: She was the one who encouraged Sheba to marry Solomon, so that she and Sheba could then be pillars of support for Solomon together. Quite ironic that Aladdin's existence is thanks to Arba pushing his parents together.
- Sleep-Mode Size: When she starts planning to infiltrate the Sacred Palace with Sinbad, she's shown in a smaller child form.
- Smug Smiler: Often to terrifying effect.
- Smug Super: Considering that she was once one of Solomon's Magi back in Alma Torran, it's somewhat deserved.
- Statuesque Stunner: She's as tall as Wahid, and still a beauty.
- Straw Nihilist: She thinks a world without Ill Ilah is meaningless and not worth existing, as everything is "fake" in her eyes.
- Super Mode: Uses strength/power magic.
- Sycophantic Servant: Her mad devotion to Ill Ilah makes her do anything if she thinks it will aid it. After learning that David has taken over Il Illah itself instead of being mad at him she devotes herself to both him and Sinbad, swearing to serve them and any wish they want. When Sinbad makes it clear he's in control she's still fanatically loyal to him because he's still connected to David and Ill Ilah regardless.
- "Take That!" Kiss: Kisses Hakuryuu while she pins him down after having badly injured him, as a way to show him how weak he is in comparison to her.
- Team Mom: Subverted. She effectively acted as a mature, loving mother figure to the members of La Résistance, especially Solomon and Sheba. Then the reveal of her true nature and her ultimate betrayal put her far from the role.
- Tears of Joy:
- She sheds these when Sheba proved her loyalty to Solomon being strong enough to be his support, and he accepted that Sheba is already a young woman, meaning that he's considering her feelings and is now opening his mind to the idea of being loved.
- Again, when she meets her "Father" Ill Ilah. Just as Ren Gyokuen did when Ill Ilah was summoned...
- This Is Unforgivable!: She considers Solomon replacing Ill Ilah to be the ultimate sin and betrays him in order to destroy his "fake world".
- Token Evil Teammate: Feels this is her role to play, so she insults Solomon to keep him humble, and when necessary, acts as his hammer when obstacles prove too difficult. When she tries to convince Sheba to be his conscience, she paints herself as a demon to Sheba's angel. She certainly proves she's capable of the role in Chapter 228.
- Undying Loyalty: She at first seemed to have this towards Solomon, to the point Solomon trusted her more than anyone else. However, ultimately her fanaticism towards Ill Ilah was greater than her loyalty towards Solomon.
- Unwitting Pawn: Spent her life following Il Illah and trying to extend its reach into the world Solomon created, but never realized that it was David in control of Il Illah and that they failed in stopping his ascension. When she realizes the truth, she doesn't care. She's fine with serving any incarnation of Ill Ilah.
- The Usurper: After Koutoku dies, she states that it was his will for her, rather than rightful heir Kouen, to become Emperor.
- Walking Spoiler: By the end of the Alma Toran arc, it's difficult to talk about Arba without mentioning she's the one who betrays Solomon and becomes Gyokuen, not Sheba.
- We Used to Be Friends: Once upon a time, she wasn't a mere friend to Solomon and Sheba, she was like family to them. Her ultimate betrayal destroyed their relationship and she's now their mortal enemy.
- What the Hell, Hero?: Calls Solomon out when he decides to take over Ill Ilah's power and share the Rukh with every single species in the world, claiming how it's no different from what his father David had done.
- Wicked Witch: She's able to use magic, and she's a member of Al-Thamen; no wonder why Hakuryuu calls her a witch.
Judar
A Magi and "Priest" of the Kou Empire who follows Al-Thamen and claims to be an old "friend" of Sinbad.

- Anger Born of Worry: How he reacts to Hakuryuu's casual disregard of his own injuries in chapter 259.
- Ax-Crazy: He loves war and fighting, to the extent that he really doesn't need a reason.
- And I Must Scream: After Aladdin changed the laws of physics with Alma Torran's knowledge, Judar will be pushed away till the ends of time to the ends of the universe. Even if he dies, his Rukh won't be able to return. Ugo however saves him from this fate by altering his trajectory so that he lands in the same place where Alibaba's soul was sent.
- Badass Adorable: When he finally appears in Adventures of Sinbad, he's a tiny little thing that looks to be around Aladdin's original height. Still plenty powerful, though.
- Birds of a Feather: With Hakuryuu in Magi and to some degree also with Celendine in Sinbad no Bouken, since her friendship epiphany with him involves her realizing that she reacted the same as him when she failed to make friends.
- Black Magic: He uses black Rukh instead of white Rukh.
- Blood Knight: He decides to become Sinbad's enemy, because it would be more fun to fight such a powerful person than be allied with him.
- Braids of Action: Like Aladdin, he has a single, long braid that very much resembles Princess Jasmine's.
- Bratty Half-Pint: He's definitely this during Adventures of Sinbad.
- Break the Haughty: His battle against Ugo. He gets better.
- Child Soldier: Judar was kidnapped to work for Al Thamen as an infant, and they didn't hold back from using their trump card in war even when Judar was extraordinarily young. He's only 19 when the main series begins, and he already has a long, long history of battle.
- Court Mage: The Shinkan (High Priest) of the Kou Empire.
- Crocodile Tears: Subverted: Judar fakes being devastated by the discovery of his past and what Al Thamen did to get ahold of him to get genuine sympathy from Sinbad and his crew—or was it faked? He pretty viciously destroys the organization for it after he finds someone who sympathizes without pity.
- Crushing Handshake: Towards Sharrkan in Adventures of Sinbad.
- Deceptive Disciple: He becomes one to Gyokuen, following his revolt with Hakuryuu.
- Depraved Bisexual: A conversation he has with Alibaba in an extra chapter from Volume 28 implies this.Alibaba: But... But you don't have a wife or girlfriend, do you?Judar: No, but... Everyone at the palace let me do whatever I wanted with them, you know?

- Embarrassing First Name: Hakuryuu states that Judar isn't his real name. But, before he could reveal it to the others, Judar shuts him up and tries to change the subject with a slight look of embarrassment on his face.
- Erotic Eating: When first introduced, he's eating peaches and letting the juice dribble all over his bare chest.
- Even Evil Has Standards: Played for laughs in the Volume 12 omake
. Even he is disgusted when Aladdin tells him how Sinbad has slept with so many women, that he has more than 7000 kids.
- Evil Counterpart: To Aladdin, the other Magi who has a similar character design and had a pretty nasty childhood quite recently.
- Evil Sorcerer: Judar is a magi who focuses on magic and also works for The Dark Side.
- Evil Versus Oblivion: He stands on the side of Evil alongside Hakuryuu, after they fall into depravity together - going against Al-Thamen standing on the side of Oblivion, who want to destroy the world entirely.
- Flipping the Bird: Does this to Gyokuen in chapter 247.
- For the Evulz: Pretty much his whole reason for doing anything.
- Freudian Excuse: If what he told Sinbad was true, Al-Thamen killed his family and seized him after his powers manifested as a child, but it turned out that he was just messing with him. Turns out he wasn't lying about his past after all.
- The Gadfly: He tells Sinbad what happened in his past, but then says that he was joking and wanted to see his reaction. He wasn't lying about his past, however.
- Guyliner: You'd think it was to just make him look more bishie, but its probably a Shout-Out to his original story, in which Judar had to retrieve a phial of kohl (make-up).
- Hand Behind Head: He tends to do this when he's embarrassed or flustered.
- Handshake Refusal: Towards Nerva in chapter 334.
- Has a Type: The official guidebook reveals that his romantic interest is someone with a personality that's opposite to his.
- Hazy-Feel Turn: During their conquest of Belial's dungeon, Judar decides to defy his former comrades of Al-Thamen and kill its leader Gyokuen alongside Hakuryuu. But in doing so he rejects a chance at redemption, going from wanting nothing but war and carnage, to now wanting to make Hakuryuu king by destroying the world to remake it theirs anew, while killing anyone who gets in their way.
- Hearing Voices: He apparently has a voice inside his head that prevents him from seeking redemption within Belial's dungeon. Just like that other traitorous Magi...
- Ignored Epiphany:
- Ultimately, double subverted. It initially seems that after Aladdin shows to Judar through Solomon's Wisdom about what Al-Thamen did to him in the past, he is fine with it afterwards. He even pretends to be upset and mocks Sinbad for feeling sorry, when telling him about this in Chapter 110. From that aforementioned appearance, it can be assumed that Aladdin’s revelation had no real effect on Judar whatsoever...
- ...However, come Chapter 244, it is revealed that he actually feels severe resentment and self-hatred for Al-Thamen stealing his childhood. Thanks to Solomon’s Wisdom, now filled with rage at Al-Thamen’s actions, Judar allies with Hakuryuu to defy Al-Thamen’s control and kill Gyokuen. In order to achieve this, they try conquering Belial’s dungeon. When the Djinn tries to reform them by revealing their true wishes through illusory manifestations; Judar rejects symbolic redemption from Aladdin’s and falls into depravity once again alongside Hakuryuu, feeling in his anger that he’s gone too far to go back, now seeking to destroy this unfair world instead.
- Immune to Mind Control: Having fallen into depravity with Hakuryuu meant his black Rukh exists outside Sinbad's new system in the Sacred Palace, allowing him to retain his free will.
- In Love with Your Carnage: The Magi Encyclopedia states that he favors strong people, and it definetely shows.
- Innocently Insensitive: When he's not riling up other people on purpose, he often becomes this due to his Lack of Empathy and his self-centered personality.
- Intergenerational Friendship: With Celendine in Adventures of Sinbad.
- Jerkass: He's usually disrespectful, rude, and arrogant towards everyone, but he's on better terms with Kougyoku and later, Hakuryuu.
- Kick the Dog: He smiles at Aladdin and introduces himself, then, as he reaches out to shake hands with him, punches him in the eye. Then he laughs at Alibaba for his weakness against his half-brother after Alibaba had already kicked himself for his failure. He pretends to have a Dark and Troubled Past, then laughs at Sinbad for believing him and feeling sorry for him, even though he wasn't actually lying about his past.
- Lack of Empathy: Shown in his first appearance.
- Living Emotional Crutch: For Hakuryuu during the Kou empire arc. It gets called out by Aladdin in chapter 279.
- Magical Barefooter: Goes around barefoot, just like his fellow Magi Aladdin.
- Mirror Character:
- Aladdin and Judar: Both amazingly powerful magi, even with similar clothing schemes and hair, but Judar is the Dark Magi, Fallen into Depravity, through no choice of his own, simply because he was found by the villains of the series at infancy and Aladdin was protected. Nonetheless, after brutally fighting, with their chosen king candidates, fellow mirrors Alibaba and Hakuryuu, they team up at the end.
- Also with Hakuryuu, as both of them had their families murdered by Al-Thamen, raised by Gyokuen, and desperately thirsted for revenge. Both are also willing to go to some pretty horrifying lengths in service of their goals.
- Muscles Are Meaningless: He looks very physically fit, including some nice abs, but according to himself, he is so weak that even Hakuei could beat him at armwrestling.
- The Nicknamer: Judar pretty much calls everyone by some kind of degrading nickname, like "chibi" for Aladdin and "stupid king" for Sinbad.
- Nietzsche Wannabe: He qualifies to a certain extent, but in the end, he probably just doesn't give a damn.
- No Sense of Personal Space: He touches people frequently, regardless of his relationship with them and whether they like it or not.
- "Not So Different" Remark: Claims that he is this with Hakuryuu because they both have a deep hatred for Gyokuen.
- Omnicidal Maniac: With shades of Put Them All Out of My Misery.
- Pet the Dog:
- In one omake, we see him playing nice with Aladdin doing some magi stuff.
- Some of his interactions with Kougyoku count as this too, like complimenting her swordsmanship and calling her cute.
- Another omake shows that when Hakuryuu was ostracized by the entire Kou Empire after the fire that killed his brothers, Judar was the only one who didn't treat him any differently, continuing to approach him and attempt to befriend him like he always would. In fact, most of his interactions with Hakuryuu can be this since Hakuryuu seems to be one of the very few people he genuinely cares about.
- The Power of Hate: His hatred and anger towards the world caused his Magic Wand to evolve and regain a Third Eye out of all the concentrated black Rukh inside him.
- The Prankster: Various supplementary materials shows that he loves playing silly and frequently mean pranks on others. Kougyoku is his favorite victim.
- Precocious Crush: As a child, he wanted to marry Gyokuen once he grew up.
- Rebellious Rebel: Judar was already part of Al-Thamen, an organization whose goal is to defy the natural order of fate and destiny. After conquering Belial's dungeon together with Hakuryuu, they decide to revolt against Al-Thamen and kill their leader personally.
- Red and Black and Evil All Over: Judar's color scheme is chiefly black and white, though Artistic License often gives him red eyes or red highlights in his hair as well.
- Redemption Rejection: In Belial's dungeon, a manifestation of his mind in the form of Aladdin shows that part of Judar's mind wanted to go towards his side, but that would mean accepting with a smile what a horrible life he had, forgiving the world that made him miserable. But his anger would never let him do that - and if the world says he's in the wrong, then he'll destroy it too and remake it as his own.
- Red Eyes, Take Warning
- Reformed, but Not Tamed: During the final arc.
- The Resenter: Chapter 244 reveals that he resents his fellow Magi because they avoided being manipulated and enslaved by Al-Thamen. As he puts it, "Why...did it have to be me?"
- The Rival: Towards Aladdin. In Hakuryuu's words, for Judar, Aladdin is "the peerless opponent he couldn't ignore".
- Screw This, I'm Outta Here: He decides to leave the battlefield after some debris almost felt over him; after all, he has become pretty useless after he created an Anti-Magic barrier in order to depower Gyokuen and make the fight a little more easier for Hakuryuu.
- Slasher Smile: When fighting against Aladdin or Sinbad.
- Smug Super: He's incredibly arrogant about his abilities as a Magi.
- Spell My Name With An S: Fans had often been confused with whether to call him Judar, or Judal. Official works spells it as Judar, while several fans used Judal out of habit due to reading the scanlations.
- Spoiled Brat: Judar was peasant-born, but he was certainly lavished like a king after Al-Thamen came and took him.
- Squishy Wizard: Beyond his magic offensive abilities and Bolg shield, it doesn't take much to knock him out. Even Judar himself makes note of this.Judar: Dammit, this is bad! I'm useless if I can't use magic! It's really embarassing, but I was never able to win an arm-wrestling match against Hakuei and I run slower than Kougyoku!
- Sword and Sorcerer: The Sorcerer to Hakuryuu's Sword.
- Take My Hand!: How he saves Hakuryuu in Chapter 244.
- Token Evil Teammate: He fills that role when he team up with Aladdin, Alibaba and Hakuryuu to defeat Sinbad.
- Too Important to Walk: Apparently this was the case when he was still a child.
- Took a Level in Badass: He learns how to use transfer magic, his Magic Wand becomes a trident-like Magic Staff, and gets a Third Eye. All thanks to The Power of Hate.
- Trademark Favorite Food: He loves peaches.
- Trash Talk: Rarely a moment passes when he doesn't try to rile someone up with insults, degrading nicknames and other provocations.
- Tyke-Bomb: He was born into a normal family, but just minutes after his birth, Al-Thamen kidnapped him to use him for his Magi status.
- Vain Sorceress: He is proud of his hair and hasn't cut it even once since his birth . He also gets very embarrassed and angry at the insinuation that his abs are fake.
- Undying Loyalty: Even after almost three years of separation, Hakuryuu's rukh turning white again and him losing the throne, Judar's devotion to his chosen king hasn't faltered.
- Villainous Friendship: With Hakuryuu during the Kou empire arc.
- Vitriolic Best Buds: His relationship with Kougyoku. He calls her an old hag and generally mocks her, but he also encouraged her to become strong and it's clear that they do care for each other. The supplementary materials take it even further by mentioning that he specifically enjoys messing with Kougyoku on his days off.
- After Chapter 243, his relationship with Hakuryuu becomes this too.
- In the final arc, he and Alibaba fit that description, too.
- War for Fun and Profit: He REALLY loves war.
- Would Hurt a Child: One of the first things he does to Aladdin upon meeting him is punch him in the face.
- In chapter 337 he ends the fight against young Sinbad by freezing him into a block of ice and then beheading him.
- Wrong Genre Savvy: Somehow. Gyokuen would be easy to kill once her magic is nullified, since all wizards are Squishy Wizard, right? Sadly, Gyokuen isn't that kind of wizard and even after her magic is nullified, she is still far from weak. Still helps to kill her, though.
- Yin-Yang Bomb: As a Magi, he's loved by white Rukh, but since he has also gone through depravity, he's loved by black Rukh too.

Markkio/Banker
The head of finances for the Kou Empire.

- Break the Haughty: Sinbad shows him just why you don't want to mess with the High King of the Seven Seas.
- Deflector Shield: Has the ability to create a bolg. It doesn't stand up to Masrur, Ja'far, and Sinbad's strength.
- Fallen Hero: Was amongst the ones who eventually betrayed Solomon, and is a part of Al-Thamen as of Magi.
- Gonk: Just his mask, though. Underneath he looks normal.

- Manipulative Bastard: At the end of his time in Balbadd, he laments that such a good place for raising hatred and despair has been saved by our heroes. He smirks and just says he should look for another country to ruin. In other words, he fully acknowledges that what Al-Thamen does is just evil. And he likes it.
- Oh, Crap!: Gets an awesome one when he sees Sinbad in Djinn equip charging an attack.
- Perma-Stubble: Under the mask.

Ithnan
A member of Al-Thamen who is working with Princess Dunya to help conquer Zagan's dungeon. It is later revealed that he was a former friend of King Solomon.

- Adaptation Dye-Job: His hair is blond in the manga, but the anime gives him dark green hair.
- Affably Evil: Until his last encounter with Aladdin, where his calm demeanour falls.
- Big Brother Instinct: Towards Setta. He even gave half of his life to save him when they were children.
- Brutal Honesty: At least in his younger years, openly calling Sheba out for her indoctrination and Ugo for not doing anything on combat.
- Chekhov's Gunman: Introduced as an arc villain affiliated with Al-Thamen, but only some time after his death is he revealed to have been involved in quite a few sinister affairs. Among others, he is indirectly responsible for Magnostadt's manufacturing of Dark Djinn.
- The Corrupter: To Dunya, to who he acts like a sort of mentor.
- Curse: Puts one on Sinbad who is already "cursed", and Alibaba.
- Cynicism Catalyst: Setta's death.
- Devilish Hair Horns: He has two pieces of hair that stick up on either side, looking like horns. Since he's part of the truly fallen evil organization Al Thamen...
- Didn't See That Coming: He certainly didn't expect Sinbad to be half-corrupted and able to overcome his curse.
- Died Happily Ever After: After Aladdin purified his Rukh, he asked Solomon for forgiveness and he was able to return to the White Rukh's Great Flow.
- Even Evil Has Standards: He opposes Gyokuen's methods of causing the world's destruction through directly making people fall into depravity. Instead, Ithnan preferred to take those that had already fallen due to the world's flaws like war and oppression and give them the tools and resources to destroy the world if they so chose.
- Fallen Hero: Was originally not only an ally but one of Solomon's closest friends.
- Hellish Pupils: Has snake-like eyes in the close-ups.
- In the Hood: His curse form, while being inside Alibaba.
- Living Bodysuit: Uses Hakuryuu as one to infiltrate Sindria and curse Sinbad and Alibaba. However, he has no control over Hakuryuu's body and releases himself by severing Hakuryuu's arm.
- Naked on Revival: After coming out from Hakuryuu's arm.
- Not-So-Harmless Villain: Appears again after being decapitated by Alibaba in Sindria, then goes on to inflict curses on him and Sinbad.
- Oblivious to Love: He couldn't see that the obvious reason of Sheba's jealousy towards Arba was because she had a crush on Solomon and envied their relationship.
- Off with His Head!: Only in the manga. He is blind-sided by Alibaba, and cleanly beheaded. He escapes through a small snake, which bites Hakuryuu and inflicts a curse on him, that later allows him to manifest himself once more.
- Pet the Dog: In the manga he allegedly treated Dunya much better than Apollonius, Zurmudd and Byoln.

- Strike Me Down with All of Your Hatred!: In the anime, he encourages Alibaba to kill him since he's the reason for everything: Balbadd's civil war and fragile situation, Cassim's death, his curse, and Sindria being forced into a war with Al-Thamen. Alibaba does it and all of Ithnan's black Rukh empowers Alibaba's curse, and makes him fall into depravity.
Princess Dunya Musta'sim
Princess of the Musta'sim Kingdom, a destroyed country who became Magnostadt. She joins up with Al-Thamen to take her country back, but later realizes the error of her ways.

- Bishōnen Line: After she masters Dark Djinn Equip, making her more than a match for Aladdin and Alibaba.
- Broken Bird: Definitely. In fact, it's probably the main reason why Aladdin and Alibaba win.
- Dark Action Girl: She certainly gives Aladdin and Alibaba a run for their money.
- Dark and Troubled Past: She watched all her family and Isaac die, cursed her fate by falling into depravity, and became a member of Al-Thamen.
- Defeat Means Friendship: Towards Aladdin. He was the only one she allowed herself to trust since he allowed her to see Isaac once again and did enjoy his company. Sadly it didn't last. It's those things that happened to her, that makes Aladdin decide to head on a journey by himself to Magnostadt.
- Dishing Out Dirt: Can create rock dragons, and later...

- Fallen Princess: She lost her kingdom as part of her past.
- Freudian Excuse: She certainly has a pretty good one.
- Graceful Ladies Like Purple
- Heel–Face Turn: After being allowed to meet Isaac, her Rukh turns white and she eventually befriends Aladdin.
- The Ingenue: After her Heel–Face Turn, she and Aladdin start being friends, but Aladdin still loves boobs and she was completely oblivious of his Lovable Sex Maniac attitude.
- Killed Off for Real: Rather tragically, as Aladdin and Yamraiha tried very hard to keep her alive. Both are shown crying at her funeral.
- Lady and Knight: The Lady to Isaac's Knight.
- Lady of Black Magic: She's demure and polite, and can use lightning magic or manipulate sand to lay waste to her enemies.
- Lady of War: A graceful former princess who's usually garbed in a Battle Ballgown, and is very much capable of skewering her enemies with a spear.
- Like Brother and Sister: After her mother's death, Dunya was raised alongside Isaac by his mother. She even said that he was her Big Brother.
- Magic Wand: Her dark metal vessel starts off as one, but turns into a black Spear with her Dark Djinn Equip.

- One-Winged Angel: She turns into another Dark Djinn.

- Redemption Equals Death: Dies a couple weeks after realizing the error of her ways and deciding to befriend Aladdin. Thanks to Black Rukh poisoning.

- Silk Hiding Steel: She may not look like it, but she isn't someone to be taken lightly.
- Staff of Authority: Her Dark Metal Vessel is a royal sceptre.
- Storm of Blades: Her "Extreme Magic"; which creates hundreds of these out of iron sand.
- Sympathy for the Devil: Both the manga and anime have the MC's get this for her; but in the anime it causes Alibaba to be taken over by black Rukh, whilst in the manga it's just what got her to stop fighting.
- Woobie, Destroyer of Worlds: Her backstory is tragic indeed.
- You Have Outlived Your Usefulness: In the anime, Ithnan almost kills her when she failed to kill Aladdin and co with her extreme magic, and drained her Magoi. Subverted, since her Rukh revealed her backstory to Alibaba, allowing him to sympathize with her; thus making it much easier for Ithnan manipulate Alibaba and then have him fall into depravity.
Isaac
Dunya's knight who is extremely loyal to her. Was once a man from the former Musta'sim Kingdom, now Magnostadt.

- Cruel and Unusual Death: The real Isaac was impaled with swords in the face.
- Dead All Along: He was a construct build based on the real Isaac, who died protecting Dunya during the takeover.
- Heroic Sacrifice: Died shielding Dunya from danger.
- Lady and Knight: The Knight to Dunya's Lady.
- Like Brother and Sister: Isaac and Dunya were raised together by his mother. She even said that he was her Big Brother.

Apollonius
A member of Al-Thamen who attacks Aladdin and the others after they leave Zagan's dungeon.

- Berserk Button: When Yamuraiha correctly guesses that he hates magicians because he cannot be one himself he becomes livid and unleash his Extreme Magic at her.
- Big Creepy-Crawlies: His dark vessel "Al Flash" can also turn into a gigantic, beam-shooting firefly and he can go One-Winged Angel by turning his weapon and himself into a colossal, scorpion-like bug.
- Dirty Old Man: He openly ogles Yamuraiha lecherously and even shoots off her Seashell Bra during the battle.
- Evil Cripple: Bound to a wheelchair.
- Evil Old Folks: An elderly midget who's just as evil as his colleagues.
- Fantastic Racism: Against magicians; such as those of Al-Thamen, whom he feels always look down on him and never acknowledge his genius. According to Yamuraiha, it's because he cannot hope to become a normal magician, and he hates it.
- Glory Hound: When he notices that both Zurmudd and Byoln have been defeated he states that he will steal their glory for himself.
- Hoist by His Own Petard: Yamraiha ends up defeating him by reflecting his own magic back at him. Averted in the Anime, where he's defeated by Spaltos instead.
- Jerkass: Dismiss his own compaions as worthless trash when they're defeated.
- Light 'em Up: His dark metal vessel makes blinding flashes of light. Interestingly, they manifest as small, black orbs.
- Morph Weapon: Al Flash takes the form of a series of black orbs that can combine to form gigantic black insects.
- Reverse Shrapnel: Al-Flash is a variation. It takes the form of large black beads which can separate into smaller beads that float around Apollonius or his opponent. However, the beads fire blasts of light rather than physically attack the enemy.
Zurmudd
A member of Al-Thamen who attacks Aladdin and the others after they leave Zagan's dungeon.

- An Arm and a Leg: Midfight, Masrur rips off one of his arms, so fast he doesn't even notice immediately.
- Blow You Away: By spinning around the multiple hands he creates with his dark metal vessel, he can form tornadoes.
- Curb-Stomp Battle: Is on the receiving end of it by Masrur.
- One-Winged Angel: His Full Body Djinn Equip, which turns him black with enormous hands protruding from his shoulders.
- Impaled with Extreme Prejudice: By Masrur with his bare hands.
- Multi-Armed and Dangerous: His powers.
- Oh, Crap!: When he notices that Masrur has just removed his arm and is about to make him pay.
- Person of Mass Destruction: His Extreme Magic can summon a destructive tornado.
- Would Hit a Girl: Only likes to fight them, actually. He punches Morgiana so hard that he says she'll never be able to have children. He thinks it would be sexual discrimination if he Wouldn't Hit a Girl.
Byoln
A member of Al-Thamen who attacks Aladdin and the others after they leave Zagan's dungeon.

- Arrogant Kung-Fu Guy: Overestimates his fencing skills a tad too much for his own good...
- Casting a Shadow: He can create dopplegangers from his own shadows. His Extreme Magic allows him to summon a whole horde of them.
- Doppleganger Attack: His dark metal vessel.
- Doppleganger Spin
- Master Swordsman: His forte, with a style akin to the Royal Sword Style which allows him to duel almost on par with Sharrkan.
- Not So Stoic: At first he seems dignified and serious, but he devolves into a creepy face when he thinks he's got the upper hand.
- Royal Rapier: Both his weapon of choice and his dark metal vessel. He looks like a swashbuckling pirate and is likely a fallen noble of sorts.
