Earth-1

Home to characters from Earth-1 of Arrowverse as well as The Dark Knight Trilogy and Lucifer (2016).
    Team Arrow

In General

  • The Fellowship Has Ended: By Rise of the Great Demon, almost every member of Team Arrow has left to pursue their own endeavors, though all of them are on civil terms with each other. Only Oliver, Sara and Roy are still part of the team now.

Earth-1 Oliver Queen/Green Arrow

  • Badass Normal: He is a normal guy with a bow and arrow, and lots of fighting skills. And he can kick ass with those.

  • Battle Couple: He and Sara together make one.

  • Friendly Rivalry: He adopts one with Legolas, Clint Barton and his doppelganger from Earth-167 over who is the better archer. This culminates in an archery contest where Legolas wins.

  • Jerkass Has a Point: While he sounded harsh when saying it, Oliver calling out Gimli for not being courteous at Lothlórien was not wrong either.

  • The Leader: Oliver is obviously the leader of the team here, and after a Wake-Up Call by Lady Galadriel, he becomes much better at it too like he used to be before.

  • Not So Stoic: After Thanos' snap, he is broken up and weeps with Sara trying to offer him some comfort. And much later, when Barry-Red dies, its even worse for him.

Sara Lance/White Canary

  • Action Girl: Obviously, she is one.

  • Badass Normal: At the start at least, she has no powers, just her fighting skills and sword, with which she can kick ass.

  • Battle Couple: She and Oliver together make one.

  • Took a Level in Badass: In a later story, Sara ends up becoming a Slayer, thus now being superhuman.

  • Wake-Up Call: She experiences one in the first story, realizing she has been away from home for too long to the point she has nearly stopped caring. So she resolves to be better.

Roy Harper/Arsenal

  • The Bus Came Back: Unlike in the show, Roy is back with Team Arrow and one of the few remaining members by the later stories.

Earth-2 Laurel Lance/Black Siren

  • Put on a Bus: She leaves Team Arrow in the later stories for her own endeavors, though she does remain an ally.

Thea Queen/Speedy

  • Demoted to Extra: After the third story, Thea does not show up much, though she is on good terms with everyone on the team.

  • You're Not My Father: She tells Malcolm in no uncertain terms that he will be nothing to her because of his actions.

John Diggle/Spartan

  • Put on a Bus: He leaves Team Arrow in the later stories to do his own thing.

Felicity Smoak/Overwatch

  • Put on a Bus: She too leaves Team Arrow in the later stories for her own reasons.

    Team Flash

Earth-1 Barry Allen/Barry-Red/The Flash

  • Batman Grabs a Gun: In Heroes stand united, the combat is so intense Barry uses a sword in addition to his powers.

  • Death by Adaptation: Unlike in the canonical crossover, Barry-Red is the one who sacrifices himself to stop the Anti-Monitor's machine.

  • Heroic Sacrifice: In the final story, Barry sacrifices himself to stop the Anti-Monitor's machine, delaying the destruction of the Multiverse.

  • The Leader: He is the leader of Team Flash.

Caitlin Snow/Killer Frost

Cisco Ramon/Vibe

  • Idiot Ball: In the first story, he refuses Strange's offer to send them back to their worlds and tries to get back his powers first, but it does not go well. However, it does lead to the introduction of Middle-earth so all good.

  • My God, What Have I Done?: He experiences such a moment in the final story after opening a breach and allowing Barry-Red to sacrifice himself to stop the Anti-Monitor's machine.

Patty Spivot/Angel of Justice

  • Amicable Exes: She and Barry are on completely friendly terms with each other, and while she is slightly weirded out by his relationship with Caitlin at the start, she gets over it very quickly.

  • The Bus Came Back: Unlike in the show, Patty returns and becomes part of Team Flash too.

  • Took a Level in Badass: She has been turned into a Slayer.

Wally West/Kid Flash

  • Demoted to Extra: In the later stories, Wally does not feature as much as he did earlier.

Ralph Dibny/Elongated Man

  • In Spite of a Nail: Even when there is no Clifford Devoe, he ends up getting his powers because of Godspeed's actions.

  • Spared by the Adaptation: Flashpoint never happened in this series but he is still alive, as in canon he was originally dead but was restored to life due to Flashpoint.

    The Legends

Ray Palmer/The Atom

Mick Rory/Heatwave

  • Abhorrent Admirer: By the time of the later stories, he is exactly this to the entirety of Earth-199999.

  • Comic Relief: A few times, in Heroes stand united as well as in Rise of the Great Demon due to his antics and sometimes almost childish behavior.

Amaya Jiwe/Vixen

Zari Tomaz

  • Action Girl: Not that different from Amaya in this regards due to having a totem as well.

  • Ancient Artifact: Her powers also stem from a totem.

  • Blow You Away: With her Air Totem, she can manipulate the wind and use it in an offensive form.

Nora Darhk

  • The Atoner: For her actions before she joined the Legends.

  • Battle Couple: She and Ray Palmer together make such a couple.

  • You're Not My Father: In Heroes stand united, she stands with the Legends and denounces Damien Darhk.

Nate Heywood/Steel

  • Made of Iron: Pretty literally, and his skin can deflect a lot of things.

    Batfamily

Earth-1 Bruce Wayne/Batman

  • Adaptational Badass: In canon, he was a realistic fighter but here, he is elevated to the usual comic book levels of badass.

  • Badass Normal: He has nothing but his fighting skills and gadgets, but he can kick a lot of ass using those.

  • Battle Couple: Makes one with his Selina.

  • Composite Character: While he is based on the Nolanverse version of the character, overall he seems to be a mix of that version, the comics version and a few others.

Earth-1 Selina Kyle/Catwoman

Earth-1 Alfred Pennyworth

  • The Cameo: He is one of the casualties of the Snap in Heroes stand united.

  • Put on the Bus: After Heroes stand united he does not appear as much.

    Los Angeles

Lucifer Morningstar

  • Bumbling Dad: When he finds out Chloe Decker is pregnant, he is afraid of being a bad father.

  • Heterosexual Life-Partners: Lucifer and Wade Wilson become besties over the course of the series, Wade even ruling Hell as a regent so that Lucifer can visit his beloved Chloe Decker.

  • Staring Down Cthulhu: He and Doctor Doom stare each other down in The Contest of Champions. Of course, he is the Devil but a good person, while Doom is the most dangerous foe in the entire series, so it is hard to pinpoint who exactly is the 'Cthulhu' in this scenario.

  • Willfully Weak: He explains that he does not use his full power due to some Law regarding the Angels by God, that they all must follow.

Chloe Decker

  • But for Me, It Was Tuesday: Since she is pregnant with the Devil's child, the crazy around her does not really have any affect on her.

Amenadiel

  • Never Say That Again: When Mephisto mentions Manny, Amenadiel gets angry and tells him not to say that name again.

    Others

Earth-1 John Constantine

  • Battle Couple: Makes one with Earth-1 Zatanna Zatara.

  • Did You Just Scam Cthulhu?: He is well-known for making dangerous deals with powerful beings and getting away with it, to the point Mephisto does not let him speak while trying to make a bargain with Lucifer. Later, when the bargain ends up in Mephisto's favor, Lucifer muses he should have let Constantine do the talking.

  • Loophole Abuse: When Lucifer is forced to bring back Blackheart, he is also forbidden from contacting the more powerful Earths for help in stopping him. So Constantine brings in the Doctor Strange of Earth-2002. He is one of the few heroes of his Earth, the other two being Spider-Man and Punisher, meaning it is a weak Earth in terms of power, but he himself is powerful enough to do serious damage to Blackheart.

  • Skewed Priorities: When women all around the Multiverse are turning into Slayers, and being hunted by the Senior Partners, he is worried about any exes of his who could have become Slayers and might come for him now.

Leonard Snart/The Spectre

  • Adaptational Badass: This is the first time any version of this character has become the Spectre of all things.

  • Back from the Dead: In Heroes from Infinite Earths, it is revealed he was selected to be the next Spectre after his death.

  • Catchphrase: "Make the plan, execute the plan, expect the plan to go off the rails, throw away the plan."

  • Deadpan Snarker: Death and becoming one of the most powerful beings in the Multiverse did not take away his snark one bit.

  • Redemption Quest: He reveals that even after his death, he felt his job and his repentance were not finished, which is why he became the Spectre.

Earth-1 Slade Wilson/Deathstroke

  • Commonality Connection: He doesn't act on it, but he feels a strong connection to Willow as he watches her reunite with Tara, remembering his hallucinations of Shado and being happy that Willow got the happy ending he didn't.

  • Disappeared Dad: He decides to be one, to keep his son Joe safe from any enemies who'd seek to get to him through his son.

  • Master Swordsman: Like in canon, Slade Wilson is a near unmatched swordsman.

  • Other Me Annoys Me: He is dislikes his Earth-9 doppelganger for how he used his daughter. He is also slightly irritated by his Earth-50 doppelganger initially before finding out more about him, which makes him feel sympathy for the man.

Nyssa al Ghul

  • I Am Not My Father: In Heroes stand united, she reaffirms that she is better than Ra's or Talia can ever be.

Earth-1 Zatanna Zatara

Jason Blood/Etrigan

  • Aloof Ally: He will help the Heroes, but only if he wants to. Outside of when Lucifer makes him join the team for a rescue mission.

  • Big Damn Heroes: Etrigan arrives in time to save Team Flash from the Demons who are about to kill them due to Caitlin/Killer Frost being a Slayer.

  • Jerkass Has a Point: His hatred for Merlin is justifiable. Even Merlin acknowledges the same.

  • Rhymes on a Dime: Since he is Etrigan, it is expected.

Dream/The Sandman

  • Small Role, Big Impact: He appears a total of two times in the series. But in his second appearance, he helps Thor navigate the vision that the Black Winter gave him.

Quentin Lance

Earth-1 James Gordon

  • The Cameo: He has a cameo in Heroes stand united.

Joe West

  • Demoted to Extra: He features quite a bit in the earlier stories, but not as much in the later ones.

Cecile Horton

Iris West

  • Demoted to Extra: She pretty much ends up being a background character in most of the series, and only has one or two lines. Probably for the best, as the author has admitted to not liking her character at all.

    Villains

Earth-1 Joker/Anarchist

  • Arch-Enemy: He is the biggest rival to the Batman. And he does not like it when that position is in danger for him.

  • Badass in a Nice Suit: Tailored and purple. And he is also a mastermind who can bring the entire city to its knees.

  • Berserk Button: Being a sellout doppelganger of his, or trying to replace him as Batman's arch-rival.

  • Other Me Annoys Me: This Joker meets his Earth-50 doppelganger and genuinely despises him for becoming a common crime boss while abandoning what makes the Joker unique. He kills this doppelganger himself too.

  • Strange Minds Think Alike: He and his doppelgangers from Earth-38 and Earth-66 instantly get along due to their shared status as agents of chaos.

Earth-1 Eobard Thawne/Reverse Flash

  • Arch-Enemy: He is the arch-nemesis to Earth-1 Barry Allen, living to make him suffer.

  • Back from the Dead: He is one of the many villains resurrected by Thanos.

  • Did Not See That Coming: Oh he definitely did not see it coming that Barry would actually kill him for all the pain he has caused.

Adrian Chase/Prometheus

  • Arch-Enemy: He is the biggest rival to Oliver Queen. He readily joins Saruman when the White Wizard offers to give him the chance to make Oliver suffer.

  • Evil Doppelgänger: Adrian can be considered Marc Spector's evil doppelganger.

  • Spared by the Adaptation: In this series, he was stopped from killing himself on the island, which is why he is still alive.

Ra's al Ghul

Malcolm Merlyn

  • Arch-Enemy: The Dark Archer is an arch-nemesis to both Oliver and Thea.

  • Back from the Dead: He too is one of the many villains resurrected by Thanos.

Doctor Sivana

  • Nice Job Fixing It, Villain: While his intentions were reeking of pettiness, by sending some of the Earth-1 and Earth-38 Heroes to Earth-199999, he ended up making things better in the long run, as the Heroes from all Earths teamed up, and became allies forever.

August Heart/Godspeed

Vince Sobel/Vigilante

Dinah Drake

  • Adaptational Villainy: She ends up joining Thanos' army because she went crazy after being kicked out of Team Arrow.

  • Death by Adaptation: Since she is now a villain, Oliver ends up taking her down permanently in the big fight.

    Villains

Earth-2 Hunter Zolomon/Zoom

  • Back from the Dead: He too is one of the many villains resurrected by Thanos.

Earth-8 Bruce Wayne/Batman/Crusader

  • Badass Normal: Like all versions of Batman, he gets the job done with his skills and gadgets.

  • You Are Not Alone: He is assured by Earth-38 Batman that he will not be alone from now on.

Earth-9

    Titans

Earth-9 Dick Grayson/Nightwing

Donna Troy/Wonder-Girl

  • Spared by the Adaptation: Since she gets transported to Earth-38 in this series, alongside most of her team, she survives.

Rachel Roth/Raven

  • Glass Cannon: She is capable of powerful magic, but she can be hurt like any normal human.

Kory Anders/Koriand'r/Starfire

  • Fiery Redhead: While using her powers aggressively, she is literally this.

Gar Logan/Beast Boy

Dawn Granger/Dove

  • Dance Battler: Since she was a ballerina first, some of her moves have her doing graceful spins.

Rose Wilson

Earth-9 Jason Todd/Robin

  • Badass Adorable: She is lovable and ditzy, but can kick ass.

  • Battle Couple: Caroline and Stefan are the battle Vampire couple.

Bonnie Bennett

Stefan Salvatore

  • The Atoner: When Constantine restores his humanity, he once again feels compelled to make up for his actions when his humanity was off.

  • Battle Couple: Stefan and Caroline are the battle Vampire couple.

  • Spared by the Adaptation: Since Blackheart ends up killing Cade, Kai and Katherine, he does not die.

Damon Salvatore

  • The Friend Nobody Likes: No one seems to like Damon much, especially the ones from the other worlds. Earth-1 Constantine verbally rips him apart in their first meeting while giving him "The Reason You Suck" Speech. Spike is horrified at first when he thinks Damon might be his counterpart in this Universe before being relieved that its actually Enzo. Later, he is also roasted by a trio of Spike, Klaus and Enzo, and Cordelia, Caroline and Donna Noble. Though, even if no one likes him, they do mourn his death, alongside that of many others when the Beyonder kills them all.

Lorenzo "Enzo" St. John

  • Spared by the Adaptation: Due to Blackheart having killed Cade, Kai and Katherine, and Constantine having restored Stefan's humanity, he does not die.

Alaric Saltzman

Jeremy Gilbert

  • Put on the Bus: He too does not accompany the rescue team to Warworld as he's not as good as the other members assembled.

Elena Gilbert

  • "The Reason You Suck" Speech: She is given about two of these by Clint for questioning him when he is trying to assemble the rescue team while not being useful herself.

Matt Donovan

Rebekah Mikaelson

Elijah Mikaelson

Kol Mikaelson

Hayley Marshall

  • Action Mom: She is Hope Mikaelson's badass and protective mommy.

  • Battle Couple: Makes one alongside Klaus.

  • Mama Bear: To Hope Mikaelson.

  • Spared by the Adaptation: Blackheart kills The Hollow, and Loki and Erik drive Marcel away, so the events that lead to her death do not happen.

Hope Mikaelson

  • Wise Beyond Their Years: Hope seems to be wise beyond her years, knowing Thor can be trusted when her mom is suspicious of him (with good reason though).

    Villains

Kai Parker

Katherine Pierce

Arcadius/Cade

  • Always a Bigger Fish: Killed easily by Blackheart, meaning he is no longer the most powerful being around.

  • Did Not See That Coming: He did not see it coming that Blackheart would pop out of nowhere and put an end to his plans by killing him.

The Hollow

Marcel Gerard

    Team Supergirl

Earth-38 Kara Danvers/Kara Zor-El/Supergirl

  • Action Girl: Expected, as she is the Supergirl of this Earth.

  • Costume Evolution: After being called 'thong girl' and 'skirt' by Tony, and also a conversation with Earth-167 Kara Kent, as well as Carol Danvers, Danvers finally ditches the skirt and wears some pants.

  • Death by Adaptation: Unlike in canon, Danvers is one of the earliest casualties of the Crisis.

  • Hypocrite: Danvers admits to Lena that she would be a hypocrite for keeping a secret and expecting Lena to be honest in return.

Lena Luthor/Morgana Pendragon

  • Actor Allusion: Lena and Morgana are the same person, because Katie McGrath played both of them.

  • Adaptational Heroism: Unlike in canon, Lena reacts positively to Danvers being Supergirl.

  • Battle Couple: Forms one with Merlin.

  • Composite Character: She is both Lena Luthor and Morgana Pendragon from Merlin (2008). After they are split, Morgana evolves into another form.

  • Gone Horribly Right: Morgan only intended for "Lena Luthor" to be a fake life and a cover. But the spell was so strong she too believed the lie until the Snap restored her true self. Black Kryptonite later reveals Lena is a real person with a soul and feelings of her own.

  • Literal Split Personality: Danvers uses Black Kryptonite to split Lena and Morgana into two different people.

  • The Reveal: There was no Lena Luthor originally. She was just a persona created by Morgan Le Fay, but the spell was so strong it affected Morgana too, until the Snap.

  • Took a Level in Badass: In later stories, Lena becomes a Slayer and also gets her magic back.

Alex Danvers

  • Action Girl: Being a badass female secret agent tends to make you one.

  • Put on the Bus: Alex initially does not participate in the conflict against Morgoth and Thanos because someone has to run the DEO when J'onn is not around.

Earth-38 J'onn Jonnz/Martian Manhunter

General Astra

  • Back from the Dead: She is one of the villains resurrected by Thanos' Snap.

  • Brainwashed and Crazy: Astra is mind-controlled by the Mind Stone to fight for Morgoth and Thanos.

  • Heel–Face Turn: After Astra is brought out of Thanos' mind-control, she says what she experienced was the same thing the people of Earth-38 would have experienced had Myriad succeeded. This inspires her to be better.

Winn Schott

James Olsen

    Batfamily

Earth-38 Bruce Wayne/Batman

  • Badass Normal: All he has is fighting skills, a lot of tech, and a lot of brains. And that's enough.

  • Character Development: In his first appearance, he is a loner who has driven almost all of his loved ones away due to his obsession with fighting crime. But the events of One too many Dark Knight make him better, as he finds his way back to his loved ones, gets a successor, gets back together with Selina, and is even content enough to relax for a bit and let others take the reins.

  • Commonality Connection: He forms one with Earth-50 Batman due to how much loss both of them have suffered.

  • Composite Character: Earth-38 Batman is a combination of the DCAU and Arkhamverse versions of Batman.

  • Good Is Not Nice: He is on the good side, but he can be very obsessive about the mission as well.

  • Heartbroken Badass: In his first appearance in the series, he is a loner who has driven almost all of his loved ones away, while his Alfred has passed. After the Crisis destroys everyone he cares about, he is very broken and nearly loses it.

  • Mundane Solution: How does he figure out that the Clark and Kara who're dead are not from Earth-38? By saying the Kara on his Earth started wearing pants, while this corpse has a skirt.

  • Not So Stoic: He is happy when Barbara tells him that having him in her life made her a better person. Terry later makes him smile too.

  • Redemption Quest: Earth-38 Batman was not a bad person, but he did hurt and drive away most of his loved ones due to his obsessive tendencies. But after One too many Dark Knight, he works to make it right with all of them.

Terry McGinnis/Red Robin

  • Adaptational Early Appearance: Terry first appears when Batman is still in action rather than after he has retired, leading to him becoming Red Robin rather than Batman, though Dick, Jason and Tim agree that Batman will make him his successor.

  • Legacy Character: It is agreed upon by Dick, Jason and Tim that Batman plans to make Terry his successor.

Earth-38 Dick Grayson/Nightwing

  • Big Brother Instinct: Dick, alongside Jason and Tim, tackle Terry and drag him away when Yelena tries to proposition him, due to the Batfamily's bad history with assassins.

Earth-38 Jason Todd/Red Hood

  • Adaptation Relationship Overhaul: In the mainline comics, Jason Todd's relationship with the rest of the Batfamily remains tenuous at best, to the point that he's even tried to kill several of them. In particular, his jealousy for anyone holding the Robin mantle after him is a defining part of his character. On Earth-38, he seems to be on good terms with the Batfamily with no ill will towards anyone, including Tim.

  • Anti-Hero: He is a good guy, but his methods are not the nicest, and he kills when he has to.

  • Big Brother Instinct: Jason, alongside Dick and Tim, tackle Terry and drag him away when Yelena tries to proposition him, due to the Batfamily's bad history with assassins.

Earth-38 Tim Drake/Robin

  • Big Brother Instinct: Tim, alongside Dick and Jason, tackle Terry and drag him away when Yelena tries to proposition him, due to the Batfamily's bad history with assassins.

Earth-38 Selina Kyle/Catwoman

  • The Cameo: She has a cameo at the end of One too many Dark Knights.

Ace the Bathound

  • Action Pet: Like in most media, Ace is a badass pet who shouldn't be crossed. Within a week of being taken in by Terry, he is good enough to take out ninjas from the League of Assassins. And then in the final battle of The Contest of Champions, he and Miss Kitty Fantastico are empowered by Thor to beat up the bad guys.

    Freeland

Jefferson Pierce/Black Lightning

    Villains

Earth-38 Ra's al Ghul

  • Adaptational Wimp: In most comics, Ra's al Ghul is such a competent warrior that no-one short of Batman, Lady Shiva, or others like them are able to even hold him back. Here, on Earth-38, he was successfully held back by the Robins even without Batman's interference.

  • Doppelgänger Gets Same Sentiment: Ra's decides that if his Batman won't become his successor, then he'd just force another Batman to be it, in this case the Earth-8 version.

  • Evil Is Petty: He kills one of the scientists he abducted for not being able to do what he wanted.

Earth-38 Lex Luthor

  • Arch-Enemy: He is one of the two big rivals to Earth-38 Superman.

  • Even Evil Has Standards: Both he and Earth-167 Lex are disgusted by their Earth-50 doppelganger for being totally insane and a sadist who wants to watch everything burn.

  • Heel–Face Turn: Averted; while he tries to fight Doomsday and dies, its to show up Superman rather than because he decided to turn over a new leaf.

Earth-38 Joker

Earth-38 General Zod

  • Arch-Enemy: He is one of the two big rivals to Earth-38 Superman.

  • Dies Differently in Adaptation: In canon, its mentioned that Superman was forced to put him down at some point. Here, he is killed by Lord Elrond's Snap.

  • Cold-Blooded Torture: He tortures Earth-38 Batman in an attempt to make him confess that sparing his villains makes him no better than them.

  • Evil Counterpart: He is the evil counterpart of Earth-38 Batman. He broke the line and did not stop.

  • Evil Doppelgänger: To Earth-38 Batman, as they look alike too.

  • Hypocrite: He calls Earth-38 Batman insane for teaming up with the Joker while he has no issue working with The Batman Who Laughs, who has ravaged many Earths.

Non

  • Alas, Poor Villain: Non dies during the final battle with Morgoth, but unlike many of the other villains, he goes out with dignity, simply holding his wife as he goes as the two apologize to each other for getting to this point.

Earth-38 Lois Lane

  • The Cameo: She has a cameo in Heroes from Infinite Earths where she gets dusted by Thanos' Snap. She plays a more major role in Heroes, Magicians and Luthors.

  • Red Herring: It seems like he is going to be the main antagonist at first, until Blackheart bursts out of his body.

Earth-50

Home to characters from DC Extended Universe.
    The Justice League

Earth-50 Clark Kent/Kal-El/Superman

  • The Atoner: After his actions as Doom's executioner, he wants to atone.

  • Brainwashed and Crazy: He is mind-controlled by his Lex into fighting his two doppelgangers.

  • Commonality Connection: He forms one with his Kara over them being the only survivors of Krypton's destruction.

  • The Leader: Clark is the leader of his Earth's Justice League.

  • Redemption Quest: Clark wants to redeem himself for his actions as Doom's executioner.

  • Took a Level in Badass: In Heroes from Infinite Earths, due to Doom making Clark his executioner, he is strong enough to fight his Earth-167 and Earth-96 doppelgangers.

  • You Are Not Alone: He feels happy when he meets his Earth's Kara, realizing he is not alone anymore.

Earth-50 Bruce Wayne/Detective/Batman

  • Badass Normal: Batman can fight huge threats using his skills, gadgets and wits.

Earth-72

Home to characters from The Boys (2019).
    The Boys

Billy Butcher

  • Adaptational Nice Guy: In canon, Billy Butcher's hatred of Supers, while understandable, crosses into unreasonable territory when he spreads that same hatred to Ryan, whose only crime is having Homelander as a father. Here, seeing Clark and Steve in action proves to him that good Supers exist, and while he realizes who the boy's father is, he puts that aside to raise the boy as his own.

  • Adaptational Early Appearance: She makes her first appearance after the Flight 37 incident rather than during Season 2.

Soldier Boy

  • Adaptational Early Appearance: He makes his first appearance after the Flight 37 incident rather than during Season 3.

  • Adaptational Wimp: In The Boys Season 3, Soldier Boy is almost as strong as Homelander, and is the first person to actually stagger Homelander. Here, since Of Heroes and Charlatans was written before The Boys Season 3, Soldier Boy, while still a very skilled and strong opponent, is nowhere near as strong as he is in canon, and also has a different backstory.

Willow Rosenberg

  • Action Girl: The most powerful Witch of her world, so obviously, she'd be one.

  • Battle Couple: She makes one, alongside Tara.

  • Fiery Redhead: When using her powers, she can look like this.

  • Heartbroken Badass: She is still very traumatized by Tara's loss to the point that when Tara comes back, she originally believes its just an evil spirit who is taking on her form to punish her.

  • It's Personal: Her beef with Warren and Amy respectively, with those two being noted as the ones she hates the most.

Tara Maclay

  • Action Girl: Another powerful Witch, so she is definitely one.

  • All-Loving Hero: She ends up being the Paragon of Love.

  • Bash Brothers: Regardless of their issues with each other, Angel and Spike make a great team.

  • Battle Couple: Angel and Cordelia make one.

  • The Leader: He is the leader of Team Angel.

Cordelia Chase

Winifred "Fred" Burkle

Charles Gunn

  • Badass Normal: He may not have powers, but Gunn has survived on the streets for a long time, and he brings that to the table during the rescue mission.

  • Spared by the Adaptation: In the follow-up comics, Gunn got turned into a Vampire but here, that did not happen.

Illyria

  • Character Development: In The Contest of Champions, when Illyria is brainwashed into killing Donna Troy, she remarks that she did not like it.

  • The Bus Came Back: Seeing Cordelia alive inspires Lorne to return to Team Angel.

Wesley Wyndam-Pryce

  • Death by Irony: As per canon, Fred Burkle's death turns Wesley into a Death Seeker, and he gives his life to help destroy the Circle of the Black Thorn. Unlike in the show, however, Illyria's and Fred's essences are separated much sooner - before Wesley permanently disappears - meaning that before he disappears forever, Wesley has time to sadly realize that he essentially died for nothing.

Connor

  • The Dreaded: To the Scoobies due to how difficult it was to stop her last time, and now she has no restraints.

The First Evil

Warren Mears

  • Hate Sink: Everyone keeps remarking on how hateful he is, Doom finding him disgusting and thinking that Amy could do better than him. Even the resurrected Tara tells Willow that she shouldn't feel bad for killing him.

  • Groin Attack: When he is being tortured in Hell, Wade shoots him between his legs.......twice!

Andrew Wells

  • Didn't Think This Through: He actually thought he could use a device he has never used before to travel through worlds and try to join up with a villain he has only heard of because he believes he is not being respected enough.

  • Humiliation Conga: Andrew's attempt to join Doctor Doom goes as well as one can expect from him. He gets burned by Balthazar Blake, shot in the ass by Legolas, thrown about by Peter Maximoff and Bart Allen, almost gets eaten by Venom, gets blasted again by Constantine, loses his hand to the trap in Blade's sword, is ripped apart by Doom's wolves, and then gets tortured by Deadpool and Lucifer Morningstar in Hell.

Twilight

  • Adapted Out: Strange and Fate send him back to his Dimension before he can start his plan, cutting out the plot entirely.

    The Powers That Be

In General

  • Jerkass Gods: They're not gods, but they are the Higher Beings of their world, and all they do is manipulate and use their Champions for what they think is the greater good.

  • Humiliation Conga: The Powers That Be and the Elders face this constantly due to their inability to let go. The Council of Godheads stop them from manipulating their Champions, and kill one of them for not following, and also because he is an insane sadist. In return, the two groups and the Tribunal invite Lord Krishna and Dagda for a bogus peace talk where they plan to kill them, only for one of them to be killed instead for boasting he'll assault the heroines of Earth-92. And when they try to kill the two in return, their Cleaners are wiped out and they are shown how they will die in the future. One of them still tries to confront the two later, and when he is shown a vision, it makes his eyes bleed. The groups try to apologize later but are told they brought this upon themselves. One of the PTB called Behmen gets so desperate he makes a magician called Rabadash who looks like Lord Krishna to try to trick others into believing he is the real deal, and Rabadash is all too eager. However, it doesn't end well for Rabadash or Behmen. Yet, it seems like The Powers That Be, or at least Behmen and his cohorts, never learn.

Balial

Jossetta Whedonasta

Behmen

  • Arch-Enemy: Behmen probably considers himself to be this to Lord Krishna. Not that he is anything more than a nuisance to him.

  • Humiliation Conga: All of his attempts to try and one-up Lord Krishna end with him being humiliated and left fuming.

Nigue

  • Rape Is a Special Kind of Evil: The moment he implies that he will assault the heroines of Earth-92, Lord Krishna kills him.

  • Too Dumb to Live: Literally, he starts mouthing off to Krishna and Dagda the moment they come in for the 'peace talk'. He keeps insulting them, even after his own brethren try to stop him, and Dagda warns him he'd be killed for this. And to top it all, he says he will sexually assault the heroines of Earth-92, which leads to his decapitation by Lord Krishna. Even on the off-chance that the assassination attempt by the Powers That Be, Elders and Tribunal had succeeded, Nigue would still have died.

Vasoros

  • A Taste of Their Own Medicine: He is revealed to be the one who gave Cordelia Chase her very painful visions that'd have killed her if she hadn't become a half-Demon. He stupidly tries to confront Lord Krishna and Dagda after they've humbled the other Powers That Be, Elders and Tribunal, only to be shown a vision of his and his allies' dark future. And due to his already existing vision powers, the vision he receives reacts with his body and makes his eyes bleed while he feels ten times more pain than Cordelia did in all of her visions combined.

Rabadash

  • Too Dumb to Live: This guy literally thought he could play God and fool the other members of the Council of Godheads. Safe to say, he got his.

  • Undignified Death: How does Lord Krishna kill him? By giving his Chakra to Rabadash, as he claims it belongs to him. The weight of the Charka crushes him within seconds.

    Others

    Villains

Earth-167 Lex Luthor

  • Back from the Dead: The Monitor, as per usual, resurrects Lex-167 following his execution by Doctor Doom, recruiting him to his cause.

  • Big Bad Wannabe: He is incredibly intelligent, but at first he is quite short-sighted as well.

  • Character Development: At the start of the series, he just wants to discredit Superman. Then his memories are returned and it becomes personal. But after being killed by Doom and then resurrected on Earth-72, he realizes he can be a good guy here, and at least parts on civil terms with his Clark.

  • Didn't Think This Through: Lex doesn't seem to realize the inherent problem in releasing an enemy powerful enough to take on the entire Justice League and then trying to fight him one-on-one. Rather predictably, the Batman Who Laughs takes him down without breaking a sweat, and Constantine has to arrive to save his sorry ass.

  • Even Evil Has Standards: He and his Earth-38 doppelganger can't stand their Earth-50 doppelganger as he is just a sadist who wants to watch everything burn.

  • Gone Horribly Right: Lex Luthor has The Batman Who Laughs attack the Justice League, knowing that the villain will defeat the heroes so he can jump in and defeat him for them. The problem is that the BWL is so good that Lex can't defeat him either, and only Constantine's interference gets anyone out alive.

  • Heel Realization: Downplayed with Lex Luthor; while he still admits that he doesn't like Clark, seeing Homelander in action and realizing exactly the kind of man Clark could have become if he wanted to makes Lex realize that he isn't that bad after all, and while there's too much bad blood for the two to ever call themselves friends, they at least part as allies.

  • Villainous Breakdown: Lex doesn't take being killed by Doctor Doom well at all, dying while proclaiming that he's better than being killed by a measly gun and if anyone was going to kill him, Superman would do it with his powers.

Earth-167 Heracles

Earth-13 Bruce Wayne/Joker Bruce

  • Arch-Enemy: Since Earth-167 doesn't have Joker anymore, he can be considered his Batman's arch-nemesis.

    Heroes

Earth-2012 Peter Parker/Spider-Man

  • Character Development: When we first see him, while he is still trying to be the Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man, Gwen's loss is weighing on him even after all these years, and most of the quips he makes are not genuine from his part. After meeting his doppelgangers and being helped through the trauma, his personality becomes lighter once more as he says he feels alive again. In the later stories, he too takes up a mentor role to MCU Peter alongside his Earth-2002 doppelganger.

  • Doppelgänger Gets Same Sentiment: MCU Peter gets emotional on seeing him as he is the doppelganger to his version of Richard Parker.

  • Heartbroken Badass: This version of Peter is still haunted by his failure to save Gwen Stacy.

  • My God, What Have I Done?: Its revealed that the sudden way he caught Gwen is what broke her neck, and he still cannot bring himself to forgive himself for that.

  • My Greatest Second Chance: He is given the chance to make up for failing to save his Gwen by saving the Gwen of the MCU from Norman Osborn, helping rescue her from both him and Carnage. Gwen forgives him on behalf of her counterpart, telling him that even if he failed one version of her, he's made up for it now. And later, Knull drops an unconscious Wanda from a building and Earth-2012 Peter jumps down to save her so that Earth-199999 Parker does not suffer the same pain he did on losing Gwen.

  • O.O.C. Is Serious Business: While he does become a lighter person following his meeting with his doppelgangers, ending up in the Clock Tower while fighting Vulture enrages him due to the memories of Gwen's death, and he nearly beats Vulture to death.

Earth-2012 Frank Castle/Punisher

  • Anti-Hero: Like said before, he is the Punisher, so him being an anti-hero is to be expected.

  • Bruiser with a Soft Center: Its mentioned that he tried to help his Peter with his anger back in the day after he'd first lost Gwen, but made it worse. In present day, when they make up, Castle apologizes too for knowing he wasn't the right person to help Peter but trying to do so anyways.

Earth-2012 Johnny Blaze/Ghost Rider

  • Angelic Abomination: This version of Ghost Rider has Angelic powers. Doesn't mean he's not terrifying to look at.

Earth-10005 Jean Grey/Phoenix

  • Battle Couple: Forms one with Scott.

  • Brainwashed and Crazy: She is not exactly in control when the Phoenix first takes over her.

  • Character Development: At the start of the series, she is controlled by the Phoenix Force into doing horrible things, and on coming back to normal, she doesn't believe she is worth saving. But eventually, Logan and Wanda talk her into not running away, and she remains part of the X-Men, doing good to atone for the bad. And in the later stories, she stops being afraid of the Phoenix Force on realizing there are worse things, and she'd need it to fight them.

  • Battle Couple: Forms one alongside Susan.

  • The Leader: Of the Fantastic Four.

  • Nice Job Breaking It, Hero: He says his machine combined with the powers of some Heroes can close the portal from which Dormammu's minions are coming, but doesn't take Earth-199999 Peter's warnings into account. The process makes the scattered essence of Dormammu one whole again, and allows him to come to this Dimension directly.

Susan Storm-Richards/Invisible Woman

Johnny Storm/Human Torch

Ben Grimm/The Thing

    Villains

Doctor Victor Von Doom

  • Canon Welding: Doctor Doom is revealed to have been responsible for the collapse of the Alkali Dam, ensuring that Jean Grey received the Phoenix Force.

  • Character Development: As Doctor Doom is based on his Fantastic Four: World's Greatest Heroes incarnation, he originally begins the story as a petty and violent man who almost destroys his universe due to his hubris. By his next few appearances, he's become a Chessmaster on par with his comic counterpart who can take on everything that comes his way and come out alive, on top of being a Well-Intentioned Extremist who's protecting his universe from other vile threats.

  • The Chessmaster: Doom is easily the most competent villain the heroes have ever faced. Doom's plans take place over decades, and his ability to adapt to new information as he learns it makes him a terrifying opponent to fight. It's to the point that even though the heroes are aware of his location (Earth-10005's Latverian Embassy), they make no attempt to fight him because they know he'll have some kind of backup plan they won't expect, and at least he seems docile for now.

  • Crazy-Prepared: What makes Doom such an effective opponent is that he's prepared for his plans going awry, always having a backup that can at least ensure his escape if he finds himself surrounded. While he loses the Phoenix force, he still manages to walk away from the battle since only he knows Clark's location, and he even throws in information on his partnership with Lex just to sweeten the deal.

  • Deal with the Devil: Dr. Doom has made some kind of deal with every evil entity he can find: Dormammu, Mephisto, Parallax, and the First Evil, gaining power at various prices. This backfires on him when Strange points out to them that Doom intends to use that power to live forever and never hold up his end of the bargain, making them withdraw their power at a crucial moment.

  • Even Evil Has Standards: Doctor Doom genuinely despises Warren Mears, viewing him as a worthless scumbag who deserves nothing from a powerful witch like Amy. Similarly, Andrew disgusts him so much that he not only kills Andrew when he tries to join him, but he gives the heroes back the reality breacher he stole with no strings attached.

  • Hidden Agenda Villain: A recurring issue as the heroes face Doctor Doom; although they know him to be egotistical, dangerous, and intelligent, they don't know what he actually wants, meaning they have no way to predict his actions.
Doctor Strange: [Doom is] a powerful sorcerer and master of magic who wants...I have no idea what he wants.

  • Manipulative Bastard: Doctor Doom ostensibly works with Lex Luthor, but in truth, Lex is just a pawn in Doom's game rather than a player. Doom gets everything he needs from Lex, including manipulating his plan to ensure that he goes to prison when he's inevitably caught, sells him out to the heroes, then unceremoniously offs him in his cell.

Annihilus

    Others

Earth-10005 Erik Lensherr/Magneto

  • Character Development: At the start of the series, Erik is still a loner and haunted by the deaths of his wife and daughter. But later, Peter Maximoff reveals to him that he's his father, and they get along well. Later, he and Freya Mikaelson fall in love and find happiness in each other, eventually settling down on her Earth. At the end of the series, they are happily married with children.

  • Commonality Connection: Forms one with Freya over the similarities in their lives, and eventually they become a couple.

  • Future Me Scares Me: Witnessing Magneto's actions in the original trilogy horrifies Erik, as he is disgusted at how his older self would put Rogue's life at risk for his own agenda, manipulate Charles into nearly committing genocide, and abandon Raven just because she was cured.

  • Heartbroken Badass: At the start of the series, he is still haunted by the deaths of his wife and daughter.

  • Luke, You Are My Father: Peter Maximoff finally tells Erik that he's his dad.

Moira MacTaggert

  • Badass Normal: She is just a CIA Agent, but that doesn't mean she can't hold her own against powerful threats for a bit.

Earth-199999

Home to the characters from Marvel Cinematic Universe, the present timeline of X-Men Film Series, the first two Blade movies and Merlin (2008).

  • Badass Crew: Each one of them is a force to be reckoned with, but together, they're even more dangerous.

  • Deadpan Snarker: All of them, to some level.

  • Putting the Band Back Together: In Heroes from two worlds, the Avengers learn to trust each other again and become a team once more.

Steve Rogers/Captain America

  • Bash Brothers: He makes a great team with the Supermen, especially the Earth-96 and Earth-167 versions. As well as Aragorn when they use Mjolnir together. And Thor and Tony as well.

  • Battle Couple: Forms one with Earth-38 Diana.

  • Catchphrase: "Avengers Assemble!"

  • Commonality Connection: Forms one with Earth-96 Superman as both lost almost more than they could bear. And also with Aragorn due to their leadership qualities and humility.

  • Defiant to the End: In 'Contest of Champions, Steve resolves to keep fighting and tries to die on his feet even after the Grandmaster sends all five of the captured Supermen to attack Steve at once.

  • The Leader: To the Avengers. Plus he and Aragorn are usually chosen to co-lead all Heroes.

  • Only the Chosen May Wield: He is worthy of Mjolnir as well as a Green Lantern Ring.

  • Took a Level in Badass: Or many levels, since first he is worthy to wield Mjolnir, then gets a Green Lantern Ring, then gets both a Blue and a Green Lantern Ring, and eventually becomes a White Lantern.

Thor Odinson

  • All Your Powers Combined: He ends up fusing with Earth-167 Clark a few times, and their combined power makes many powerful villains quiver.

  • Bash Brothers: He makes a great team with Steve, as well as Aragorn due to Mjolnir. And Beta Ray Bill as well later.

  • Big Damn Heroes: Many times he arrives just when the Heroes are being overwhelmed and turns the tides.

  • The Chains of Commanding: In Return of the Devourer and Heroes from Infinite Earths he fits this trope to a tee.

  • The Chosen One: It is revealed that Thor will be the One To Save Us All from the Crisis.

  • Heartbroken Badass: When he believes that he is the last living thing in the Multiverse.

  • Legacy Character: To Arjuna, as Lord Krishna narrates the Bhagavad Geeta to him, just like he'd done with Arjuna.

  • Took a Level in Badass: When he manages to access the Odinforce and later becomes a temporary Herald of Galactus. Not to mention the Warrior's Madness and Rune King Thor in the final story.

Tony Stark/Iron Man

  • Deadpan Snarker: He is Tony Stark, what more to expect?

  • Gadgeteer Genius: Tony has constructed numerous marvels of technology, not just the Iron Man armors. He is also proficient in multiple other fields of science.

  • Hidden Heart of Gold: He acts like a jerk, but he is a good man underneath it.

  • My God, What Have I Done?: Tony finally realizes how much he messed up in Civil War and apologizes to everyone.

  • Science Hero: Due to being able to make his own suits.

  • Took a Level in Badass: By making an Uru suit, a Symbiote suit, and then combining the Infinity Stones into his suit.

Natasha Romanoff/Black Widow

Clint Barton/Hawkeye

  • 10-Minute Retirement: He tries to retire a few times but it never sticks.

  • Badass Normal: His archery and fighting skills are all that he needs.

  • The Leader: To the rescue team in The Contest of Champions.

Doctor Bruce Banner/Hulk

Earth-199999 Logan Howlett/Wolverine

Bucky Barnes/White Wolf

  • Adaptation Relationship Overhaul: T'Challa choosing to take Bucky into Wakanda leads to a drastic overhaul of his relationship with the royal family. T'Challa defending him from the other tribes in spite of the scorn they were given makes Bucky so loyal to him that he considers himself a Wakandan even before a New Yorker, with T'Challa being both his king and honorary brother and the royal family considering him one of their own.

  • The Atoner: For his past actions as Winter Soldier.

  • Battle Couple: Forms one alongside Natasha.

  • Bash Brothers: Makes a great team with Steve, as well as Sam. And even Logan.

  • Composite Character: Due to T'Challa taking him into the royal family, he now resembles comic book White Wolf in more than just codename.

  • Redemption Quest: For his past actions as the Winter Soldier, and he finishes it in More than just an identity.

Wanda Maximoff/Scarlet Witch

Earth-199999 Peter Parker/Spider-Man

  • All-Loving Hero: His love for Wanda, Aunt May, Frank, his doppelgangers and the other Spider-Men, and his friends, is what allows Lord Krishna to help save him from Knull.

  • Beware the Nice Ones: He is usually nice, but do not get onto his bad side, especially by threatening his loved ones.

  • Battle Couple: Makes one with Wanda.

  • Character Development: At the start of the series, he is still a bit reliant on Tony Stark, but being influenced by his doppelgangers makes him realize he can do it alone. So he gives Tony's suit back to him, makes his own, and continues to be Spider-Man, by himself now, even if he needs help sometimes.

  • Unstoppable Rage: When Norman kidnaps his loved ones, he goes into one and beats up the man brutally.

  • O.O.C. Is Serious Business: The blac suit makes him very brutal, which concerns Matt.

  • Thou Shalt Not Kill: Even when enraged at Norman for abducting his loved ones, Peter does not kill him at the end, though he does give him a brutal beating.

  • Took a Level in Badass: By being trained in hand-to-hand combat by Matt.

Earth-199999 Doctor Stephen Strange

Sam Wilson/Falcon

  • Bash Brothers: He makes a great team with Steve as well as Bucky.

  • Legacy Character: At the end of the series, Sam ends up taking the mantle of Captain America from Steve.

T'Challa/Black Panther

  • Adaptation Relationship Overhaul: T'Challa choosing to take Bucky into Wakanda leads to a drastic overhaul of his relationship with the royal family. T'Challa defending him from the other tribes in spite of the scorn they were given makes Bucky so loyal to him that he considers himself a Wakandan even before a New Yorker, with T'Challa being both his king and honorary brother and the royal family considering him one of their own.

  • Adapted Out: Inverted; during the events of The Falcon and the Winter Soldier, T'Challa personally gets involved in the conflict, whereas in the show the Dora Milaje, Ayo in particular, did it instead.

Yelena Belova/White Widow

Earth-199999 Pietro Maximoff/Quicksilver

  • Back from the Dead: He is found in the Speed Force by the other speedsters and brought back to life.

James Rhodes/War Machine

Scott Lang/Ant-Man

  • Battle Couple: Makes one with Hope.

  • My God, What Have I Done?: He has this moment after coming back to normal and realizing what he did as Galactus' Herald.

John Walker/US Agent

  • Adaptational Sympathy: John Walker is given far more benefit of the doubt than he was in the show. While he still kills Nico and causes an incident, a lot more focus is put on the negative impact of having just taken the serum and his corrupted mental state, presenting him as an otherwise decent man who simply made a terrible mistake. This also means that his mental slide is cut short, as he's given more compassion and respect before he can completely lose it.

  • Legacy Character: At the end of the series, he ends up becoming Bucky's successor.

  • All for Nothing: He believes that since the remaining half is not grateful for what he did, and ended up undoing it, it was all for nothing, so now he must make a new Multiverse from scratch.

  • Composite Character: A strange example, but this Thanos ends up performing 2018 Thanos' as well as 2014 Thanos' actions from both of the movies.

  • My God, What Have I Done?: He has this moment when he is brought back to life and told his actions unleashed the Anti-Monitor.

  • Nice Job Breaking It, Hero: He is not a hero obviously, but he thinks he is one, and he believes what he is doing is right for everyone. Yet, his Snap also ends up eventually unleashing the Anti-Monitor, which was not his intent.

But when that is undone, he goes into a berserk rage, deciding that now he must recreate his own new Multiverse where everyone would be grateful because they won't know what was taken from them.

Galactus

  • All Your Powers Combined: He fuses with his Earth-10005 doppelganger known as Gah Lak Tus, increasing his power and hunger by a lot.

  • The Dreaded: Galactus is considered the most powerful villain faced up until this point, even worse than Morgoth or Dormammu.

  • Godzilla Threshold: His impending arrival is enough to rattle the Heroes. Strange sends the entirety of Earth's population to the Mirror Dimension, while Loki uses the Space Stone to form a barrier around the Earth. Strange even says now all they can do is pray. What's scarier is that he is not doing this out of malicious intent but because he is just a force of nature.

  • Living Weapon: At the end of Return of the Devourer, Thor turns Galactus into a bomb to be used against the Black Winter.

  • Villain Decay: In his first big appearance, all the Heroes together struggle to do anything to him. But in his second big appearance, Thor alone is able to do a lot of damage to him, albeit after receiving a power boost from Galactus himself.
