The Crowns of the Seven Deadly Sins
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/300px_sgdl_savers.jpg
The silhouetted Demon Lords as they appear in the anime.

The Seven Great Demon Lords are listed in ascending order of their "Purgatory Levels", which they are assigned on their various crests in accordance with the ranking of the Seven Deadly Sins in the "Mountain of Purgatory" in Dante's The Divine Comedy. The Seven Great Demon Lords are rarely portrayed all at once, and when one does appear, they are usually a prominent character and force all of their own. Their biggest role as a group to date is in Digimon World Data Squad, and figure into the backstory of the game's parent series (with Belphemon himself showing up). Furthermore, they also appear in the Updated Re-release of Digimon World Re:Digitize for the 3DS.

In terms of the Bandai mythology, while there are other Demon Lord Digimon, it is these seven that are most powerful. The Dark Area itself is said to be their "flesh and blood" in Belphemon's profile, and given that several are Fallen Angels, it can be inferred that they were reborn there after being consigned there by higher powers. There are also two Super Demon Lords, Lucemon Shadowlord Mode and Ogudomon, who have varying connections to the group.

Aside from their various anime and video game appearances, their one major role in Bandai's digimon backstory is in the fiction for the "Digimon Twin" virtual pet, where they release a crack program called "Tempest" to make various digimon, including the Four Holy Beasts, run rampant.

Due to their association with the Seven Great Demon Lords, Lucemon Shadowlord Mode, Lucemon Larva, and Ogudomon are listed here as well.

Tropes that apply to multiple Demon Lords or the group as a whole:

  • Always a Bigger Fish: Despite their immense power and dominion over the Dark Area, there are at least two vampire Digimon that even they fear. GranDracmon essentially keeps all of them in check, and Boltboutamon single-handedly destroys the Dark Area and expels them from it before effortlessly outpowering Lucemon Falldown Mode and Beelzemon as well.
  • As Long as There Is Evil: The Seven Great Demon Lords are the incarnation of evil in Digital World and therefore as long as there is evil in human heart they just will reappear over and over again.
  • The Corruption: The "Tempest" program they release in the "Digimon Twin" backstory.
  • Dark Is Evil: Generally, though this changes with Ogudomon.
  • Demon Lords and Archdevils: They are the most powerful demon Digimon and the Digital World's equivalent to the demons representing the seven deadly sins according to Christianity.
  • Dimension Lord: Downplayed; while they are the highest authorities of a hell dimension, their power is less than absolute, with GranDracmon & Plutomon standing outside their sphere of influence.
  • The Dreaded: In Data Squad, Belphemon alone showing up was enough to put the heroes on edge.
  • Embodiment of Vice: They all embody their respective sins, sometimes very obviously, sometimes more esoterically. Lucemon is a fallen angel due to its pride, Leviamon envies anybody stronger than itself, Daemon is wrathful about being cast away into the Dark Area and hungers for revenge, Belphemon sleeps all the time and becomes enraged when awoken, Barbamon is greedy for all the treasure in the Digital World and would kill anyone for even a small piece of it, Beelzemon is a glutton for battle and Lilithmon provokes lust in her opponents.
  • Evil Counterpart: To the Royal Knights, although their numbers are smaller. Beelzemon in particular is played up as Dukemon's Foil, due to the both of them appearing and fighting in Digimon Tamers. They could also be seen as this to the Three Great Angels.
  • Fallen Angel: Several of them are this. Daemon is a fallen Seraphimon while Lilithmon is a fallen Ofanimon. Lucemon is based on the fallen angel.
  • Klingon Promotion: AxeKnightmon X's profile suggests that their membership isn't necessarily fixed, and that if another Digimon took one of them out, they'd fill the empty spot. At the very least, AxeKnightmon is going to give it the ol' college try.
  • The Legions of Hell: What they command.
  • Made of Evil: The "Dark Area" is their "flesh and blood" according to Belphemon's profile, and the Dark Area itself is composed of the data of evil digimon sent there.
  • Mutants: In Digimon Linkz, they were among the Digimon mutated by Volcanicdramon implanting world-stabilizing data in them.
  • Number of the Beast: They possess a series of crests shaped like rings, within each of which the words "Level 666" are inscribed. No defined meaning is given to the statement, but given that no Digimon is classified by numerical power levels, odds are it's only there because of Rule of Symbolism.
  • Our Demons Are Different: The Digital World's versions of various Christian demons.
  • Quirky Mini Boss Squad: Subverted, they often don't get along well enough to be this, but on rare occasion they will fulfill this, such as in Digimon World DS where they served as an optional Boss Rush.
  • Palette Swap: Digimon Linkz had "mutant" versions of at least one form of each the Demon Lords, each with its own color scheme.
  • Rule of Seven: As is expected due to their motif.
  • Seven Deadly Sins: Each member of the group represents one of the Seven Sins.
  • Sorting Algorithm of Evil: The "Purgatory Level" each one is assigned corresponds to how powerful they are, with Lucemon Chaos Mode being the strongest and Lilithmon being the weakest.
  • With Friends Like These...: Digimon World Re:Digitize flat out states that the Demon Lords don't always act as a group, and that if it's in one of their best interests, they'll even in-fight or oppose one another.

    Lucemon Chaos Mode

Lucemon Chaos Mode (Lucemon Falldown Mode)

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/lucemonfalldown.png
Debut: D-Scanner 3.0
Attacks: (Original) Paradise Lost, Dead or Alive, Terrible Dance, Deadly Roll; (Dub) Paradise Lost Punch/Eternal Sleep/Paradise Lost, Ultimate Sacrifice/Blistering Orb/Dead or Alive/Dead or Alive Capsule, Terrible Dance, Deadly Roll

The strongest of the "Seven Great Demon Lords", it is an ultimate Demon Lord Digimon which possesses both the divine and the diabolic. It instigated a rebellion in the far-flung past, and so it was sealed in the Dark Area along with many other Demon Lord Digimon. Its power exceeds that of Ultimates, and is said to rival that of the existence called "God" as well. It has a contradictory existence, in that one side of it loves all things, as God does, while the other is trying to destroy the whole world, as the Devil does. Hence, once it destroys this world, it intends to create a fresh new world.

Lucemon Chaos Mode is the primary villain of Digimon Frontier where he attempted the exact same thing his bio stated he would do. He also appears as a member of the Bagra Army in Digimon Fusion, and is the penultimate boss of Digimon World Data Squad. Lucemon is, of course, based on Lucifer, and represents the sin of Pride.

  • Almighty Janitor: He's "just" an Ultimate-level as opposed to the Mega-level Digimon of his fellow group, but he's actually the strongest of the bunch and can easily destroy most Mega-levels.
  • Breakout Villain: Arguably the Breakout Character of Digimon Frontier to boot. While many other Digimon that debuted in Frontier don't get much of an appearance bar Digimon Xros Wars, Lucemon is now the iconic figurehead of the Seven Great Demon Lords and has been consistently featured in future works in the Digimon franchise, often as the Big Bad or a vital part of the setting/story itself.
  • Facial Markings: Like its child form, Lucemon Falldown Mode has a purple tattoo on the left side of its face. The design is different than its Child form, though as its is more jagged.
  • Fangs Are Evil: Played with. Its teeth are mostly the same, but it now has four teeth that have become fangs.
  • Fallen Angel: The most well-known example in the franchise; his entire line is based off of Lucifer himself.
  • Fashionable Asymmetry: Applies in its design, to accentuate Lucemon being a being of light and dark.
  • Flight: With a new set of angel and demon wings, Lucemon Falldown Mode is capable of flying at incredible speeds, which it will use to perform its Paradise Lost Punch move.
  • Good Wings, Evil Wings: As part of his visual look, he's got both good and evil wings going on.
  • Hand Insignia: It retains the symbols of the Zero Unit and the Digital Hazard from its Rookie stage on the plates on its left and right hand respectively. The presence of the latter symbol means that Lucemon is a Digimon that has the potential to become a highly dangerous threat to the Digital World. Considering its mindset and Demon Lord status, it definitely fits the bill.
  • In Their Own Image: As a result of his oxymoronic being, Lucemon aims to destroy the Digital World first, then create it anew.
  • Inconsistent Dub: He's had several dub names over the years, including Lucemon Fallen Mode, Lucemon Wild 1st Mode, and simply shortening his name to Lucemon FM.
  • Light Is Not Good: His "light" half supposedly loving all creatures does not keep Lucemon from imposing his will on them or trying to control them in his desire to create a perfect world.
  • Lost in Translation: Lucemon FM being an Ultimate Level actually has a bit of Stealth Pun regarding his respective Sin in the Japanese version. He's the Demon Lord of Pride and his Level is Perfect.
  • Man of Wealth and Taste: Designed with regal-looking clothes, as opposed to Daemon's more bestial appearance and Beelzemon's biker look.
  • Mercury's Wings: Has an angel wing and a demon wing for ears. Plus, he has a fashionable example on his boots.
  • No-Holds-Barred Beatdown: "Paradise Lost", which involves him pummeling the enemy, launching them upwards, and then holding their limbs fixed as Lucemon drives them into the ground.
  • Occult Blue Eyes: Deep-blue eyes to go with the Digimon equivalent to the devil himself.
  • Omnicidal Maniac: He wants to destroy and recreate the world.
  • One-Steve Limit: An attack name example, in that it shares "Paradise Lost" with Diablomon.
  • Oxymoronic Being:
    • He loves all things as God does, while he also works to destroy the world and everything in it.
    • His level is classified as an Ultimate/Perfect, but his power is described as comparable to a Mega or, even higher, to a god's level.
  • Person of Mass Destruction: Moreso than its child form. Lucemon Falldown Mode's first appearance shows it destroying an entire move by using its Paradise Lost move on Emperor Greymon and Magna Garurumon (unintentionally, mind you but still). Also, it bears the symbol of the Digital Hazard on the back of its left hand, meaning it has the potential to become a dangerous threat to the Digital World.
  • Pride: The very Sin he represents. It believes itself to be the most suited to rule the Digital World, even if it has to destroy and remake it in his own image.
  • Rage Against the Heavens: Instigated a rebellion against heaven, much like his namesake.
  • Restart the World: Wants to do this due to its loving and destructive impulses.
  • Roundhouse Kick: Both its "Terrible Dance" and "Deadly Roll" attacks have it doing one.
  • Satan: He's pretty much the Digimon equivalent of Lucifer, and a much more direct correlation to him than Daemon. See the latter's entry below.
  • Shout-Out: One of its special moves is called Paradise Lost Punch. Paradise Lost is an epic poem written by John Milton, which depicts Lucifer's from grace, transformation into Satan, and starting the war against the heavenly beings.
  • Smug Super: In its anime appearance, it seems to always have a smug expression on its face.
  • Utopia Justifies the Means: Its argument when explaining its reason for destroying the Digital World, deeming it to be unruly and chaotic. Of course, the heroes that stand in its way know that Lucemon cares more about being the one in charge than actually trying to create a better world.
  • Winged Humanoid: An Angel Digimon's power is ranked by the amount of wings they've got. Lucemon has ten, meaning it's stronger than Seraphimon and Ophanimon, its successors.
  • Yin-Yang Bomb: "Dead or Alive", in which he creates a magical square in the form of an orb containing holy and evil powers, before trapping them inside.

Lucemon X (Lucemon (X-Antibody))

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/lucemon_x.jpg
Debut: Digimon Chronicle X

Although it is a Demon Lord-type, the way in which its six opposing golden wings shine is divine as if it were an Angel-type. Not only does its appearance far surpass that of the old Lucemon, but also its power and intellect, and sublimed into the perfect being that transcends even God. Having gained the ultimate wisdom and power, Lucemon reigns in the Digital World as an incarnation of destruction and creation.

  • Holy Halo: Subverted, while the Crest of his Sin now hovers over his head like a halo, he is anything but holy.
  • Let's You and Him Fight: Despite his immense power, he tasks Belphemon X and Leviamon X with fighting the Royal Knights Craniamon and Kentaurosmon while he sits back and watches.
  • Light Is Not Good: Its wings are now all solid gold and angelic looking, but it's still a massively powerful Demon Lord.
  • Omnicidal Maniac: In this form he not only wants to destroy the old Digital World, but all Digital Worlds in existence.
  • Winged Humanoid: The upgrades of the X-Antibody mean it's now got twelve wings.

    Leviamon

Leviamon

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/leviamon.png
Debut: Digital Monster Card Game
Attacks: (Original) Rostrumnote , Caudanote , Duo Caudanote , Animanote ; (Dub) Biting Crush/Shell Shock, Tail Strike, Duo-Tail Strike, Thunder Breath

The strongest monster existing in the Digital World, it is called the "Devil Beast" out of terror of the exceedingly mighty power that this monster possesses and is counted as one of the "Seven Great Demon Lords". This extensive monster, said to possess gigantic jaws which could guzzle down even the Digital World, is reported to sleep in the depths of the Net Ocean nearest to the Dark Area, and if it is awakened, it will despise any Digimon at the top, and will flee even Angel Digimon, much less other Demon Lord Digimon. However, as the existence of the limits on Digimon are decoded, its own appears similar to nothingness, and it is said that it builds the foundation for the existence of wickedness in the Digital World.

Leviamon's sole animated appearance was in Digimon Fusion, where it served a Dark Is Not Evil role as one of the legendary digimon sealed away inside Digimemories. Leviamon is based on the biblical Leviathan and is connected to the sin of Envy.

  • Big Eater: It is said that Leviamon could swallow the whole Digital World if it wanted.
  • Breath Weapon: "Anima", and "Rostrum" in the anime.
  • The Dreaded: Due to how big it is, no other Digimon would dare attack it out of fear. Even Angel Digimon, who are noted as being fierce pursuer of good who punish evildoer, flee from it.
  • Eldritch Abomination: In addition to apparently laying the groundwork for evil to exist in the first place, Leviamon sleeps at the bottom of the Net Ocean, evocative of the Great Old Ones of the Cthulhu Mythos.
  • Envy: Like its namesake in the classification of demons, Leviamon represents the sin of envy.
  • Green-Eyed Monster: Its defining Sin is envy, as it despises any Digimon stronger than it. Ironically, it's the second-strongest Demon Lord, meaning it practically dwarfs the others in terms of sheer, raw power but is outclassed by the much stronger Lucemon Chaos Mode, who is an Ultimate level while the others are Megas.
  • Large and in Charge: Easily the biggest of the Demon Lords, and possibly among the biggest Digimon ever.
  • Making a Splash: Leviamon can create waterspouts, as seen in Digimon Fusion.
  • Man Bites Man: "Rostrum", in which Leviamon attacks with its enormous jaws.
  • More Teeth than the Osmond Family: Even for a crocodile, its jaws are long and its number of teeth are excessively numerous.
  • Multiple-Tailed Beast: It has two whip-like tails.
  • Never Smile at a Crocodile: A giant, demonic crocodile with a ridiculously long jaw full of big, sharp teeth.
  • Out of Focus: Leviamon is currently the only Demon Lord to have never played a major antagonistic role in any of the anime or manga series. While it is a villain in several of the games alongside its fellow Demon Lords and has made an appearance in Digimon Fusion, it never plays a particularly large role in these encounters beyond being a powerful foe to defeat.
  • Purple Is Powerful: Its mutant version in Digimon Linkz is black and purple. As a mutant Digimon, this version also lacks one of the regular version's elemental weaknesses.
  • Red Baron: Called the "Devil Beast" out of fear of its power.
  • Red Is Violent: Its body is covered in red scales, and is one of the most aggressive members of the group.
  • Reptiles Are Abhorrent: A giant crocodile and one of the Demon Lords.
  • Shown Their Work: Leviamon appears to be a cross between a giant crocodile and sea serpent. Most biblical scholars believe that the Leviathan mentioned in the Bible is referring to a crocodile, while the books make indications that it was a sea serpent.
  • Tail Slap: "Cauda" and "Duo Cauda" involve Leviamon mowing down everything with its tail.
  • Technicolor Fire: More like technicolor smoke, which it is shown breathing from its nostrils in official art.
  • With Friends Like These...: Not even other Demon Lords are exempt from Leviamon's jealousy.

Leviamon X (Leviamon (X-Antibody))

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/leviamonx.png
Debut: Digital Monster X ver. 2

Wing-arms grow from its back, and it has gained the ability to fly by spurting out excess energy. Land, sea and sky have become feeding grounds for Leviamon where it will try to devour everything.

    Daemon

Daemon (Demon)

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/demon_beast2.jpg
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/demon_20th.jpg
Mantled
Attacks: (Original) Flame Inferno, Chaos Flare, Slash Nail, Hammer Knuckle, Double Dust, Algol's Flame; (Dub) Flame Inferno/Evil Inferno, Evil Flapping/Chaos Flare, Slash Nail, Hammer Knuckle, Double Dust, Algol's Flame

A Demon Lord Digimon that leads the many Devil and Fallen Angel Digimon. Like Devimon, Daemon was originally an Angel Digimon, and a particularly high-ranking one. However, because it raged in fury or rebellion, against a being of goodness in the Digital World (perhaps the very human that created the Digital World), it was deleted to the Dark Area (the graveyard of deleted data). It has vowed to one day conquer the Digital World, in revenge against the being of goodness. Also, while it led the rebellion, and was the strongest among the Ultimates, it plotted to secretly revive the "Super-Ultimate Digimon".

There are currently two known iterations of Daemon: the hulking creature that is seen most often, and a second version clad in robes knon as its "Mantled" form. The latter appeared as an antagonist in Digimon Adventure 02, while the former appears almost everywhere else, most notably as the Big Bad of Digimon V-Tamer 01. Daemon is based off the Cacodaemon and is connected to the sin of Wrath.

  • Big Red Devil: Unlike VenomMyotismon, who merely evokes this appearance, Daemon is this trope in full force.
  • Bowdlerize: "Creepymon" is one of the most universally loathed examples in the Digimon franchise; it's hard to take the Demon Lord of Wrath seriously with a name as generic as Creepymon. Thankfully, the dub team for Digimon Adventure 02 agreed and referred to him as "Daemon", which fits with his Cacodaemon inspiration. However, while the name does still see use, Bandai still tends to call it "Creepymon" in some games.
  • Breath Weapon: Sometimes shown breathing fire, sometimes shown blasting it from its hands.
  • The Brute: In terms of design, the original Daemon design evokes this in contrast to its more refined-looking counterparts (save Leviamon).
  • Exactly What It Says on the Tin: In Japan, he's a demon named Demon. Even in English, "daemon" is just another way of saying "demon".
  • The Faceless: The Mantled version, anyway.
  • Fallen Angel: Specifically, it used to be a Seraphimon.
  • Fangs Are Evil: And damned if he doesn't have a lot of them.
  • Fluffy the Terrible: In many localizations, the Demon Lord of Wrath as well as the third-strongest of his group is named "Creepymon".
  • Horned Humanoid: Goes with the Big Red Devil theme.
  • Inconsistent Dub: Localizations tend to shuffle between calling this guy "Daemon" or "Creepymon".
  • In the Hood: The Mantled version of Daemon, who ends up resembling a member of The Klan. This may be intentional. Additionally, it was long considered by fans that this form was a disguise Daemon took, instead of one of the franchise's myriad redesigns. It was finally alluded to officially in this card from Digimon Collectors, which depicts Daemon throwing off his cloak.
    • It also gives Daemon a rather occult, sorcerer type appearance.
    • Dub Text: Digimon Masters treated the original Daemon design as an evolution of the Mantled one, and gave it the moniker "Daemon Beast Mode".
  • Hair-Trigger Temper: Fitting because Daemon's defining sin is wrath. It was cast from Heaven after an Unstoppable Rage, directed against the very concept of goodness and has sworn to conquer the Digital World in revenge.
  • Kamehame Hadouken: How Daemon is shown firing "Flame Inferno" in Digimon Adventure 02 and whatever attack it's using in this card art.
  • Number Two: Usually in this position.
  • Occult Blue Eyes: Has a couple that are visible even in its Mantled form.
  • One-Steve Limit: An attack name example, in that Daemon and Beelzemon both have an attack named "Chaos Flare".
  • Playing with Fire: Its "Flame Inferno" attack fires a stream of flames from its hands/mouth, and its "Chaos Flare" attacks with a tornado or blast of dark fire.
  • Red and Black and Evil All Over: Its mutant version in Digimon Linkz has black fur and bright red skin that matches its claws.
  • Red Is Violent: Its Mantled version wears blood-red robes and after being mutated in Digimon Linkz, its blue parts become bright red.
  • Red Right Hand: Its left hand, which is noticeably longer than the right, and has larger-looking claws.
  • Satan: In terms of both backstory and the fact that the Seven Great Demon Lords are based on the Seven Princes of Hell, as Satan represents Wrath in that classification.
  • Spikes of Villainy: Sports a great amount, on its arms, legs, and wings.
  • Third Eye: Among the Seven Great Demon Lords, Daemon and Beelzemon are the only ones to have one of these. On the "robed" version, it's covered up.
  • Winged Humanoid: Has a couple of tattered devil wings on his back.

Daemon Super Ultimate (Demon Super Ultimate)

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/daemonultra.png
Attacks: Algol's Flame, Dark Spreader

Daemon Super Ultimate is a form Daemon takes after acquiring the power of the "Super Ultimate" Digimon.

  • Assimilation Plot: How it comes into being, absorbing Arkadimon from the inside and taking its power for its own.
  • Bishounen Line: While sill monstrous, Daemon Super Ultimate's proportions have evened out in comparison to its previous version, while also having grown taller.
  • Breath Weapon: "Algol's Flame" is launched from its mouth.
  • Casting a Shadow: "Dark Spreader" is a black attack of shadown, though in its debut it directly spread Daemon's zero and one manipulating virus.
  • Olympus Mons: One of the very few explicit Super Ultimate level Digimon out there.

Daemon X (Demon (X-Antibody))

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/demonx.png
Debut: Digital Monster X Ver. 2

As a result of the "Crown of Wrath" manifesting over its head due to it taking the X-Antibody, Daemon started to become more powerful as its anger grew. It is said that when that anger exceeds its limit, power surpassing even that of a Super Ultimate Digimon bursts forth.

  • Beyond the Impossible: It reaches such levels of Unstoppable Rage it's stronger than a Super Ultimate level Digimon.
  • Energy Weapon: Its "Seventh Graviton" attack fires off laser beams every which way, levelling everything around it.
  • Revenge: It's primary motivator for achieving this power, as it wishes to take vengance on the Royal knights.

    Belphemon

Belphemon

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/belphemon.png
Belphemon Sleep Mode
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/belphemonrage.png
Belphemon Rage Mode
Debut: Digital Monster Card Game
Attacks: Sleep Mode: Lampranthus, Eternal Nightmare; Rage Mode: (Original) Lampranthus, Gift of Darkness, Dark Horn, Lightning Horn; (Dub) Lampranthus/Dark Sigh, Gift of Darkness, Dark Horn, Lightning Horn

Belphemon is a Demon Lord Digimon with two forms: Belphemon Sleep Mode and Belphemon Rage Mode. Though only Belphemon Rage Mode is considered one of the Seven Great Demon Lords, Sleep Mode is listed here for the sake of simplicity. Belphemon represents the sin of Sloth, and is named for the demon Belphegor.

Sleep Mode is Belphemon's form when it is Exactly What It Says on the Tin. A Demon Lord Digimon that is said to be sealed in the deepest parts of the Dark Area. As the strength it possesses is too immense, its data is said to have been put in a sleep state by the Digital World's system, although the truth of the matter is uncertain. Because it has fallen into a deep sleep, it cannot unleash its own attacks, but it is able to inflict damage to Digimon just with its snores, and for that reason it won't be easy to attack Belphemon: Sleep Mode in its sleep.

It is said that Belphemon awakens from its eternal slumber once in a thousand years, and regains its natural shape. When Belphemon awakens from its slumber it changes into an incarnation of rage, and anything that enters its field of vision becomes a target for destruction. It is said that just by suffering Belphemon: Rage Mode's roar, Ultimatenote  and below will have their data disintegrated and die instantly, and not even Mega level digimon can escape unharmed.

Both of Belphemon's forms played a major role in Digimon Data Squad, where the ultimate plan of the Arc Villain Akihiro Kurata was to awaken the sleeping Demon Lord and control its immense power, merging with the Demon Lord in an attempt to achieve this goal.

Belphemon in general

  • Chained by Fashion: And they're Wreathed in Flames. These chains are also used in conjunction with both forms' Lampranthus attack.
  • Chain Pain: Lampranthus is an attack that uses its chains.
  • Fauns and Satyrs: Both have a goat-like appearance.
  • Flower Motifs: "Lampranthus" is named after a kind of flower.
  • Good Scars, Evil Scars: Both versions of Belphemon have scars on their foreheads. This is a trait it shares with Astamon, which is largely considered to be its previous evolution, though the scars themselves are different.
  • Gruesome Goat: The two of them have goat horns, with Rage Mode in particular being very baphomet-inspired.
  • Red and Black and Evil All Over: It's more purple than red, but it still has plenty of red on its chest.
  • Sickly Green Glow: The fiery aura around its chains in both forms and the glow around Rage Mode's claws are a noxious green color.
  • Sloth: Thematically, but not an association it makes by choice. Its profile says it supposedly enters Sleep Mode only by force.
  • Spikes of Villainy: Sleep Mode has them on its massive head, Rage Mode has them on its shoulders.
  • Technicolor Fire: The fire around its chains is yellow green.
  • White and Red and Eerie All Over: Like with Barbamon, being mutated by Volcanicdramon in Digimon Linkz recolors it to be mostly white and red in both of its modes.

Belphemon Sleep Mode

  • Accessory-Wearing Cartoon Animal: It wears an alarm clock. It rings when Belphemon wakes up in Digimon Data Squad.
  • Eyes Always Shut: Naturally. Opening them means it's not in Sleep Mode anymore.
  • Killer Rabbit: Don't let its appearance and the fact that it's asleep fool you. Sleep Mode is still highly dangerous.
  • Mind Rape: Psychic assault variety. The snores of its "Eternal Nightmare" technique causes whomever hears them to become trapped in a nightmare.
  • Ridiculously Cute Critter: It looks like a giant cuddly teddy bear, which couldn't possibly be a threat to anyone. Then it wakes up...
  • Sealed Evil in a Can: Sealed in the deepest part of the Dark Area by Yggdrasill.
  • Sleep-Mode Size: Played with. Belphemon's Sleep Mode is actually the Trope Namer, but in its anime debut in Digimon Data Squad, "Sleep Mode" size is still enormous.
  • Sleepwalking: It can't use its attacks while it's asleep, but Sleep Mode's snores are still dangerous. Digimon Data Squad seems to ignore this by having it attack Japan while in this form, but then again, it was under human control at the time.
  • Super-Deformed: Its head is considerably larger than the rest of its body.

Belphemon Rage Mode

  • The Berserker: Once it wakes up, it flies into a blind rage and decimates anyone it sees.
  • Breath Weapon: Depicted firing energy beams from its mouth in Digimon Data Squad.
  • Chest Insignia: It bears the Mark of Evil on its chest.
  • Giant Flyer: It's a kaiju-sized baphomet with several sets of giant, purple wings that it uses for flight.
  • Horn Attack: Its "Dark Horn" attack has it ram the opponent with its horns.
  • Horned Humanoid: Has a pair of goat horns that it sometimes uses for headbutts.
  • Large and in Charge: One of the largest of the Seven Great Demon Lords, save for Leviamon.
  • Not a Morning Person: One of the best examples of this in fiction. The minute it wakes up, it goes berserk and starts attacking everything in sight.
  • Our Werewolves Are Different: A kaiju-sized werewolf with horns and wings.
  • Person of Mass Destruction: Notable as such, even for a Mega, and even among the Seven Great Demon Lords.
  • Shock and Awe: Its "Lightning Horn" attack is similar to "Dark Horn", but charged with electricity.
  • Thousand-Year Reign: Inverted. 1000 years comes before Belphemon showing up to ruin things.
  • Top-Heavy Guy: Has gorilla-like proportions, making it the most beastly of all the Seven Great Demon Lords save Leviamon.
  • Wolverine Claws: "Gift of Darkness" has it attacking with energy versions of this trope.

Belphemon X (Belphemon (X-Antibody))

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/belphemonx.png
Debut: Digital Monster X Ver. 2

Its destructive impulsive impulses have intensified and its instincts have sharpened; it will utterly and completely crush those it seeks to destroy. It will first aim for and brutally pulverize the Digimon acting as the beacon of hope for the opposing army, crushing the hopeful hearts of the entire enemy faction. It then continues pounding on the entire enemy army, which has lost the will to fight, until it is satisfied and has laid waste to the army.

  • Asskicking Leads to Leadership: It leads entire armies in battle.
  • Bling of War: It's gained golden arm and leg guards with its upgrade.
  • Frontline General: In a slightly ironic twist, the Demon Lord of Sloth charges headfirst into the fray.
  • Hope Crusher: It seeks out the enemy's beacon of hope first, then brutally destroys them. After that, it gets to work on everything else.
  • It Can Think: With its prior forms, there was some glimmer of hope that it was too violent to do more than just lash out in a blind rage. With this one, that's clearly not the case. Belphemon may be in a permanent rage, but it's all too capable of thinking anyway.

    Barbamon

Barbamon

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/barbamon.png
Debut: Digital Monster Card Game
Attacks: (Original) Pandemonium Lost, Death Lure, Greedy Wand, Jigoku no Kaennote ; (Dub) Pandemonium Lost, Hypnosis, Crimson Flame/Dark Inferno, Greedy Wand

As a Demon Lord Digimon which has the appearance of a long-bearded old man, it is one of the "Seven Great Demon Lords". It resides within the heart of the Dark Area, the den of demons, and manipulates Fallen Angel Digimon to run the whole gamut of evil. It is obsessed with all of the treasure which exists within the Network, so out of avarice, and regardless of the means, it has a cruel personality with a greed that would kill Digimon just for a piece of treasure. It is the foremost and most cunning schemer of the Seven Great Demon Lords, and can easily manipulate the Ultimate Deathmon in addition to Fallen Angel Digimon. Barbamon is named for the demon Barbatos and is connected to the sin of greed.

Barbamon appears as the main antagonist of Digimon Next.

  • Artistic License – Religion: In demonology, the demon that represent the sin of greed is Mammon, not Barbatos. note
  • Bald of Evil: Subverted. Its Bandai artwork makes it look bald, but it's just the mask. In reality, it has long hair.
  • Beard of Evil: Probably its most well-known trait. It droops all the way down to its robes.
  • Bling of War: Its rings and the rather ornate jeweled and golden decorations on its robe.
  • Cane Fu: "Greedy Wand", which involves attacking with the Death Lure.
  • Cool Mask: It comes with Pointy Ears and a Sinister Schnoz.
  • Deal with the Devil: It uses "Death Lure" to tempt others into this, trapping them in a hell they cannot escape from and turning them to evil.
  • Evil Genius: Serves as this to the Demon Lords, being its most cunning member.
  • Evil Old Folks: It has the gray hair associated with old age, and it has a mean streak a mile wide.
  • Gold Fever: Desires all the treasure in the world.
  • Greed: Obviously enough, but it's written into several aspects of his character.
  • Hellfire: Its "Jigoku no Kaen" attack shoots a stream of fire from the Death Lure.
  • The Mon Behind the Mon: The Mon behind Deathmon, that is.
  • Manipulative Bastard: It manipulates the Fallen Angel Digimon in the Dark Area, and has the "God of Destruction" Deathmon at its beck and call.
  • Miser Advisor: Holds this position in the Seven Great Demon Lords.
  • Out of Focus: While it has appeared in several games and was a major antagonist in the manga, it has yet to make an appearance in the anime.
  • Pointy Ears: As part of the Cool Mask.
  • Red Eyes, Take Warning: Barbamon definitely has them, though it's unclear as to whether or not they're part of its mask.
  • Ring of Power: Subverted. Though he wears ten on each hand, they don't seem to do anything save serve as decoration. Barbamon does like treasure, and jewelry does fall into that category.
  • The Scrooge: Not only that, Barbamon will cut you down even for scraps.
  • Sinister Schnoz: Has one as part of its Cool Mask, which veers into towards making him resemble anti-Semitic portrayals of Jewish people in medieval artwork. Combine that with his association with Greed, and he comes across as a stereotypical Greedy Jew.
  • Skeletons in the Coat Closet: Not on Barbamon himself, but a skull decorates the head of his Death Lure cane.
  • The Strategist: It's the most cunning of the Demon Lords, and manipulates the Fallen Angel Digimon to run the gamut of evil, and is known to be able to manipulate Deathmon.
  • Unholy Nuke: Pandemonium Lost, which draws upon the energy of the Dark Area. It and MaloMyotismon's Pandemonium Flame draw from the same source, but between them, only Barbamon is able to tap into its full power.
  • Wizard Beard: It's an adept user of dark magic, and has the beard to match.
  • White and Red and Eerie All Over: Being mutated by Volcanicdramon turns its robes white and red while its mask becomes silver instead of gold.
  • White Hair, Black Heart: It's a Demon Lord with ash-white hair.

Barbamon X (Barbamon (X-Antibody))

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/barbamonx.png
Debut: Digital Monster X Ver. 2

It fused its demonic staff "Death Lure" with its right arm to link directly to its magic, and now controls its techniques more skilfully.

  • Evil Versus Evil: While searching for treasure it came to blows with AxeKnightmon X, their battle continued even after both obtained the X-Antibody.
  • Greed: It's primary motivation is to break out of the Dark Area and acquire the various treasures of the new Digital World.
  • Your Soul Is Mine!: Its "Seventh Jewelrize" attack let it suck out an enemy's DigiCore and turn it into a jewel. The stronger the enemy, the shinier the jewel.

    Beelzemon

Beelzemon (Beelzebumon)

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/beelzebumon.png
Debut: D-Ark Version 2.0
Attacks: Double Impact, Darkness Claw, Heartbreak Shot, Quick Shot, Pao Yunote

A Demon Lord Digimon that, while possessing the power to preside over the many Devil Digimon, continues to live and act independently. As one of the "Seven Great Demon Lords", it is said that it could stand at the peak of the dark army, "Nightmare Soldiers", if it cared to, although it is also said that there exists a Demon Lord Digimon which surpasses even Beelzemon. It rides the gigantic motorcycle-type machine, "Behemoth", and wields its cherished shotguns, the "Berenjena". Although its personality is cruel and merciless, it is also exceedingly prideful, so it would never attack the weak. Beelzemon is named for the demon Beelzebub, and represents the sin of Gluttony.

Beelzemon appears in Digimon Tamers as the Mega form of Impmon, and is partnered to Ai and Makoto (Mako). What comes between them is a matter of debate, though both the D-Power line and the Vital Bracelet have given semi-canonical evolution lines. It is also a potential Mega level for Dracumon, being partnered to Kaito Shinonome.

For tropes relating to the later variation of Beelzemon, which also appears in Digimon Fusion, please see the page for Mega Digimon.

  • Absurdly Sharp Claws: Which he uses in his "Darkness Claw" attack.
  • All Bikers are Hells Angels: A rather literal example.
  • Amazing Technicolor Population: A rather humanoid-looking digimon with blue skin.
  • Badass Biker: He rides the Behemoth, a sentient motorcycle that normally controls whoever rides it, without falling victim himself.
  • Bowdlerization: Averted. While the dub does shorten his name, it doesn't mask its origins as the name of a demon.
  • Breakout Character: Obviously the most popular of the Seven Great Demon Lords, getting the most appearances in various media, an Expy in Digimon Fusion, and several action figures. In addition, it's the first Demon Lord to get an X-Antibody form, and it has a Distaff Counterpart in BeelStarmon.
  • Cool Bike: Behemoth, which apparently has a will of its own.
  • Cool Mask: A purple one with a Third Eye.
  • Depending on the Writer: What comes between Beelzemon and its usual rookie form, Impmon, is often up in the air. Its most "canon" evolution lines are from the D-Ark v-pet (which uses Meramon and SkullMeramon), and the Tamers anniversary event for the Vital Bracelet (which uses Wizardmon and Reapmon, the latter being the pre-evolution of the 2010 Beelzemon).
  • Double Tap: "Double Impact", in which he fires both its shotguns at once.
  • Edible Theme Naming: The Berenjena, like all of Vulcanusmon's weapons, are named after Spanish words for food. "Berenjena" in particular means "eggplant."
  • Even Evil Has Standards: Despite being characterized as merciless, his profile specifically says that he avoids attacking the weak. In Digimon Tamers, it notably only fights Digimon whose levels are Champion or higher.
  • Fangs Are Evil: He has a couple sticking out.
  • Gluttony: Being based on the Beelzebub, it is the Demon Lord of Gluttony. That said, it's profile has nothing on it that invokes the sin in itself or the Digimon it encounters. Although, see below for Villainous Glutton.
  • Guns Akimbo: He wields two guns.
  • Hell-Bent for Leather: Beelzemon wears a leather suit, with the top half looking like a traditional leather jacket.
  • I Call It "Vera": His shotguns are called "Berenjena". It was revealed years later after Beelzebumon's debut that guns were developed by Vulcanusmon of the Olympos XII.
  • I Work Alone: Mentioned as such in his profile. But still part of a group of seven...
  • More Dakka: Its "Quick Shot" attack has it continually fire at the enemy with the Berenjena.
  • Morphic Resonance: The red bandanna on its arm is the same as the one an impmon wears around its neck. In Digimon Tamers, this was a key tell that Beelzemon was Impmon.
  • Red and Black and Evil All Over: His mutant version in Digimon Linkz is dressed all in red with its belts remaining black.
  • Red Eyes, Take Warning: Noted due to his contrast with its later form. See the tropes listed for Blast Mode below.
  • Sadly Mythtaken: The demon Beelzebub looked like and was called "lord of the flies", but Beelzemon is a humanoid biker with no insect-like traits. Its most animalistic trait is its tail, which is far more reminiscient of a rat than any insect.
  • Sequence Breaking: A non-gameplay example. Generally, most sources have Beelzemon evolving directly from Impmon, leading to much speculation about what their Champion and Ultimatenote  forms are. NeoDevimon, SkullSatamon, and Phelesmon have been popular choices. However, the Digimon Crusader iOS game seems to have settled upon Reapmon (further implying that its most likely champion stage is Wizardmon), and Fusion backs this up despite its general lack of conventional evolutions by having its Reapmon reincarnate as Beelzemon after a very Wizardmon-like Heroic Sacrifice.
  • Shotguns Are Just Better: Wields the Berenjena, a pair of shotguns that it dual-wields for its "Double Impact".
  • Shout-Out: There is a computer-controlled bicycle named Behemoth, which likely provides the inspiration for this thing.
  • Token Good Teammate: Of all the Seven Great Demon Lords, it's the one mostly likely to make a Heel–Face Turn, as it has done this in multiple continuities.
  • Villainous Glutton: Not the Big Eater by any means, but he represents Gluttony. In Beelzemon's case, he seems to represent a gluttonous desire for more and more power rather than food, such as in his Digimon Tamers incarnation where he kept killing Digimon and loading their data to become stronger.

Beelzemon Blast Mode (Beelzebumon Blast Mode)

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/beelzebumonburst.png
Debut: Digimon Rumble Arenanote
Attacks: Chaos Flare, Death Slinger, Double Impact, Juuoukennote , Darkness Claw, Beelzeb Kick, High Impact, Bloody Skewer; (Dub) Chaos Flare/Corona Destroyer/Chaotic Flare, Dark Ringer/Corona Blaster, Double Impact/Blast Mode, Fist of the Beast King, Darkness Claw, Beelzeb Kick, High Impact, Black Scewer

In raising its power and spirit to its limits, Beelzemon can become Beelzemon Blast Mode. Though this form is not considered one of the Seven Great Demon Lordsnote , it is listed here for the sake of simplicity.

An ultimate Demon Lord that raised its power and spirit to their utmost limits. Instead of evolving in wickedness, it maintained a calmer mental state, and its three, once-baleful red eyes have become green. It commonly demonstrates incomparable power and speed, and four jet-black wings are growing from its back. You can almost say that before the Beelzemon that took on this figure, the opponent no longer exists. Its right arm is integrated with its Blaster, and fires powerful energy waves to disintegrate everything into atoms.

  • Arm Cannon: Has traded in his Berenjena for one of these.
  • Bowdlerize: "Chaos Flare" was changed to "Corona Destroyer".
  • Dark Is Not Evil: While it is still the Demon Lord of Gluttony, it is now a calmer being that more resembles a dark angel.
  • A Dog Named "Dog": Its blaster is named "Blaster". Beelzemon must have named it itself.
  • Energy Weapon: Its "Death Slinger" attack fires a dark blast from its Blaster.
  • Good Wings, Evil Wings: Two black angelic-looking wings.
  • Heel–Face Turn: It's said that Blast Mode has evolved away from wickedness, and it isn't counted as one of the Seven Great Demon Lords. It's either this or a True Neutral.
  • Japanese Ranguage: "Bluster Mode". Thankfully avoided by the Digimon Tamers dub.
  • Never Say "Die": All three of Beelzemon's attacks neglect using the word "Death" in it.
  • Shock and Awe: It's High Impact can call down lightning on the enemy
  • Unholy Nuke: Both "Chaos Flare" and "Death Slinger".
  • Wave-Motion Gun: "Chaos Flare", which is generated by drawing a magic circle with the gun and then firing through it.
  • Winged Humanoid: Beelzemon gains two black wings when taking this form.

Beelzemon X (Beelzebumon (X-Antibody))

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/beelzebumonx2.jpg
Debut: Digimon World X
Attacks: Double Impact, Darkness Claw, Gluttony Flare

Beelzemon also has a form when affected by the X-Antibody. The X-Antibody overrode parts of Beelzemon's data, granting it the ability to summon "El Evangelio", crimson flames of the Underworld (the Dark Area) capable of changing their form at will. The flames of El Evangelio possess their own will, and their role is to impose judgement upon and offer salvation to the souls of the sinners that fall into the Dark Area. Being a Demon Lord type, Beelzemon's DigiCore would have been eradicated by the flames under normal circumstances. However, with X-Antibody assimilated into its body, Beelzemon has gained the ability to suppress the will of El Evangelio and control them as if they were its own power, without being burnt by them.

Unlike Blast Mode, it is considered one of the Seven Great Demon Lords.

  • Composite Character: Seems to be one between Beelzemon vanilla and Blast Mode, with Blast Mode's wings and the former's preference for shotguns.
  • Early-Installment Weirdness: It predates the other six Demon Lord's X-Antibody forms by several years, meaning it's very different from the rest, both in abilities (no Crown of the Seven Deadly Sins) and appearance... at first, anyway.
  • Holy Burns Evil: Ordinarily, El Evangelio would just kill Beelzemon, but the X-Antibody means it can control them without dying.
  • Red and Black and Evil All Over: Has a lot more red in his design than he had before.
  • Playing with Fire: It's Gluttony Flare attack in which it shoots the flames of the Dark Area, El Evangelio(Esp: The Gospel), as bullets, incinerating the data of whatever they hit without leaving a trace.
  • Retcon: After the other Demon Lords got their X-Antibody forms in 2019, Beelzebubmon's got a tweak to include its own Crown of the Seven Deadly Sins, and an attack to go with it.
  • Tron Lines: Has red lines all over its body in this form.

    Lilithmon

Lilithmon

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/lilithmon_9.png
Debut: Pendulum Progress 2.0
Attacks: (Original) Phantom Pain, Nazar Nail, Evil Sigh, Darkness Love, Empress Emblaze; (Dub) Phantom Pain, Razor Nails, Evil Sigh, Darkness Love, Empress Emblaze

As a Demon Lord Digimon which has the appearance of a woman, it is one of the "Seven Great Demon Lords". It is thought that it was originally the same kind of Digimon as Ofanimon, but it fell from heaven and eventually became known as the "Goddess of Darkness". It confounds its opponents with its bewitchingly lovely appearance, and it is said that those who are taken in by its temptations are invariably granted death. Its reputation as the "Goddess of Darkness" is appropriate, as it offers generosity towards vice, but only cruel outrages towards virtue. The demonic "Nazar Nail" on its right arm corrodes everything it touches.

Lilithmon is named for Lilith, the demoness and first wife of Adam. She is associated with the Sin of Lust. She appears as a primary villain and member of the Bagra Army in Digimon Fusion.

  • All Women Are Lustful: The embodiment of this. Lilithmon is all about using her charms to get what she wants. She even values this.
  • Artistic License – Religion: In demonology, the demon that represents the sin of lust is Asmodeus, not Lilith. note
  • Bad Is Good and Good Is Bad: Rewards vice with generosity and responds to virtue with only cruel outrages.
  • Bowdlerization: Her name is changed to "Laylamon" in the dub of Digimon Fusion. Laylamon does at least seem to have its roots in her lust themeing, being one of the title characters in the Persian story Layla and Majnun. Layla is the catalyst for an obsessive and maddening love in the story, so it's not a completely out-of-nowhere change. However, this is the only instance in which Laylamon was used; outside of Fusion, her name is retained as Lilithmon.
  • Breath Weapon: "Phantom Pain" and "Evil Sigh".
  • Buxom Beauty Standard: It is one of the bustiest human-like Digimon, which she takes advantage of to seduce Digimon into doing her bidding.
  • Deadly Gas: "Phantom Pain" has her breathe out a mist that dissipates the opponent's data and causes them pain that lingers even after death.
  • Excessive Evil Eyeshadow: Upon digivolving, Lilithmon seems to have come with pre-applied make-up.
  • Facial Markings: It bears the Mark of Evil on its forehead.
  • Fallen Angel: Lilithmon was an Ophanimon that fell to the Dark Area, similar to how Daemon was once a Seraphimon.
  • Femme Fatalons: Her Nazar Nail, which it uses to corrode any opponent it slashes.
  • God of Evil: She's called the "Goddess of Darkness", and she rewards evil individuals in the same way a benevolent god may do so for the righteous.
  • Good Wings, Evil Wings: Has two pairs of bat wings on her back.
  • Heart Beat-Down: An evil version in "Darkness Love", which is an energy blast in the shape of a heart.
  • Horned Humanoid: Has a couple of them on her head. They don't have any attacks associated with them; they're just there for aesthetic.
  • Hot as Hell: A classic succubus-type female demon, and the embodiment of the sin of Lust.
  • Hotter and Sexier: Her Xros Wars depiction actually increases the amount of cleavage on display.
  • Lady in Red: Her mutant version is Digimon Linkz is dressed all in red and she's still the Demon Lord of lust.
  • Most Common Superpower: She has very impressive bust size that she proudly flaunts in her low cut dress. In Digimon Fusion, the size of bust was actually increased to the point her design had to be censored when the show was dubbed for the Western audience.
  • Ms. Fanservice: As the living embodiment of the sin of lust, as well as being a succubus, it's only natural that she would be insanely beautiful to boot. And she certainly delivers on that front.
  • Poison Is Corrosive: Her "Nazar Nail" and fingernails are poisonous, and the former corrodes anything it touches.
  • Pointy Ears: She has them to add to her demonic vibe.
  • Red Baron: It offers generosity towards vice, but only cruel outrages towards virtue, earning it the title, "Goddess of Darkness."
  • Shameless Fanservice Girl: As the embodiment of lust, she enjoys using her sex appeal to seduce Digimon into doing her bidding.
  • The Smurfette Principle: The only female among the Seven Great Demon Lords.
  • Summon Magic: "Emperess Emblaze", which summons a creature of darkness.
  • Tricked-Out Gloves: The "Nazar Nail" on her right arm.
  • The Vamp: She bewitches her victims with her beauty only to kill them.
  • Winged Humanoid: A couple of tiny wings can be seen coming from her upper back area.

Lilithmon (X-Antibody) (Lilithmon X)

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/lilithmonx.png

Having X-evolved because of its obsession for beauty, Lilithmon obtained a youthful, bewitching body. It is said that its appearance captivates everyone who sees it, instantly turning them into its puppets. Upon acquiring ultimate beauty, Lilithmon became a luscious, baleful goddess of death due to its tolerant broad-mindedness.

  • Good Wings, Evil Wings: She now has a pair of brightly-colored butterfly wings to symbolize that she's even more deadly now.
  • Mass Hypnosis: Her Seventh Fascinate allows her to control Digimon over a wide area using her Crown of Lust.
  • The Vamp: She can use her charming appearance to turn anyone who falls for her into puppets. The end result is they'll die from overclocking, but Lilithmon enjoys the feeling.

Super Demon Lords

    Lucemon Shadowlord Mode

Lucemon Shadowlord Mode (Lucemon Satan Mode)

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/lucemonsatan.png
Debut: D-Scanner 3.0
Attacks: (Original) Divine Atonement, Purgatorial Flame, Dimension Slasher, Satan no Ikarinote ; (Dub) Nihilism Maelstrom/Divine Atonement/Divine Torment, Tide of Despair/Destructive Field/Purgatorial Flame/Flame of Purgatory/Fire of Purgatory, Dimension Slasher, Wrath of Darkness

Lucemon's final form, a Demon God Digimon which resembles the Dragon of Revelation. As told in the prophecy "Revelation", it wears the Crowns of the Seven Deadly Sins and carries the sphere of darkness, Gehenna, which has the power to nullify all attacks. It is said that Lucemon assuming this form will cause the end of the world. However, Lucemon's true form exists inside Gehenna, and Shadowlord Mode is actually nothing more than its shadow. Given that, no matter how many times Shadowlord Mode is attacked, Lucemon himself will not actually be harmed.

Lucemon Shadowlord Mode (and its true form) serves as the final enemy of Digimon Frontier. Likewise, it is the final boss of Digimon World Data Squad as the Super Demon Lord, and is born when Lucemon absorbs the power of the Code Keys of the Seven Deadly Sins and his ally, Kagura Tsukasa. He also appears in Digimon Fusion as the final enemy of the Heaven Zone arc.

Lucemon: Larva (Lucemon Larva, Lucemon Rival)

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/lucemonlarva.png
Attacks: Ensure or Protect, Divine Atonement

The true form of Lucemon which operates Shadowlord Mode as its shadow. It hides itself within the orb of darkness carried by Shadowlord Mode, "Gehenna", and its existence is said to be the epitome of Lucemon's evil will.

  • "Blind Idiot" Translation: Its medal in Digimon Story: Cyber Sleuth is labeled as "Lucemon Rival".
  • Clipped-Wing Angel: Notably weaker than his other forms. Its "Hyper Colosseum" card doesn't even have attacks.
  • The Devil Is a Loser: The true final form of Lucemon is a tiny, pathetic little tick thing which hides inside the Gehenna Sphere, and despite being a Mega level can barely attack. A major step down from its ludicrously powerful Rookie and Ultimate level forms. Downplayed in that it controls the much more powerful Shadowlord Mode from within the sphere.
  • Gold and White Are Divine: Inverted. It's silver with gold wings, but is also the epitome of Lucemon's evil will.
  • Our Angels Are Different: Larva has a twisted sort of angelic look, with golden feathery wings attached to a body that looks like a strange combination of a fetus and a cocoon.
  • Sealed Evil in a Can: A beneficial version. Larva dwells within the Gehenna sphere, meaning he's protected from all outside attacks.
  • Spam Attack: It can shoot a deadly barrage from its stinger.
  • This Was His True Form: This is the real Lucemon, piloting Shadowlord Mode from within the Gehenna Sphere.

    Ogudomon

Ogudomon

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/ogudomon_2.png
Debut: Digital Card Game Alpha
Attacks: Catedralnote , Gradusnote , Oratio Grandioloquanote

Ogudomon is a grotesque Super Demon Lord who has seven legs and eyes, as well as an eighth eye. As it includes the whole of the Digital World's sins, and moreover, is a mysterious personification with the ability to atone for them all, the power of a Digimon with even a small amount of malice is counterbalanced, and it is impossible for it to defeat Ogudomon.

Ogudomon is a boss in the "Digital Card Game Alpha" and "Battle Terminal" cardass machines that were released around the time of Digimon Data Squad. In its various cards, it evolves as part of a fusion between any two of the Seven Great Demon Lords, or even all seven of them at once.

  • Anthropomorphic Personification: Of all the Digital World's sins.
  • Balance Between Good and Evil: It's a balancing and atoned personification of the Seven Deadly Sins. Furthermore, it can be classified as both a Vaccine and Virus type, which are normally directly opposite one another. Its name is a reference to the Ogdoad, the Greek name for a group of eight Eygptian deities who existed in perfect balance with one another.
  • Belly Mouth: Has one right between its massive legs.
  • Dark Is Not Evil: Despite being a "Super Demon Lord" and the personification of all Seven Deadly Sins, Ogudomon balances and atones for their evil.
  • Extra Eyes: Has eight, with seven on the underside of each leg and one on the head atop its body.
  • Eyes Do Not Belong There: Even the eye on its head looks like it's stuck inside a massive tooth-filled mouth.
  • Fusion Dance: Between the Seven Great Demon Lords in the card game. The swords impaled upon Ogudomon's body show traits of each one.
  • Gale-Force Sound: "Catedral", a powerful shockwave from its mouth.
  • Gratuitous Foreign Language: Its three attacks are Latin and Spanish.
  • The Grotesque: Its official bio outright describes it as such.
  • Human Pincushion: The aforementioned swords.
  • Purple Is Powerful: As a secondary color scheme.
  • Made of Evil: Its body includes the Digital World's sins.
  • Mark of the Beast: The Crowns of the Seven Deadly Sins hover above each leg.
  • No-Sell: If you attack it and you have any kind of darkness in your heart, you have no hope against this guy.
  • Red and Black and Evil All Over: Its primary color scheme.
  • Spider Limbs: It has five clawed legs that it uses to get around.
  • Trampled Underfoot: What it aims to do with its "Gradus" attack.
  • Unstoppable Rage: "Oratio Grandioloqua", an attack whereupon Ogudomon "rampages lustfully".

Ogudomon X (Ogudomon (X-Antibody))

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/ogudomon_x_b.jpg
Debut: Digimon Chronicle X
Attacks: Destiny Death Destruction (Death 3)

Both the evil thoughts of the Seven Great Demon Lords and its destructive impulses have been amplified further by the X-Antibody, and the power oozing out of it is capable of causing the Digital World to collapse due to it merely existing.

Its six arms and head have turned into tentacle blades that are endowed with the abilities of each of the Seven Great Demon Lords, and will try to eradicate anything that draws near them, regardless of whether they are friend or foe.
