The Royal Knights are a group of thirteen holy knights from the Virus Busters family and sworn protectors of the Digital World as a whole, and the highest rank of network security among digital lifeforms. Founded by Imperialdramon Paladin Mode to preserve peace in the chaotic Ancient Digital World and serve King Drasil (Yggdrasil), they're the knight order of the Digimon Extended Universe.

The Royal Knights are listed by the ranks they hold in descending order, starting with Alphamon and ending with Jesmon.

    open/close all folders

The Royal Knights As A Whole
  • Adaptational Villainy: Despite their supposedly being a Big Good, this happens to them on a regular basis.
    • Digimon V-Tamer 01: The Royal Knights aren't established in this universe, but Omnimon still counts. It's partnered to Hideto Fujimoto, a member of the Alias III who's more of an Anti-Villain in terms of motivation, and it's a slightly weaker-than-average but still powerful Digimon that pushes Taichi and Zeromaru to their limits. After Neo Saiba goes off the deep end with Arkadimon, the Alias III, Hideto and Omnimon included, all defect to Taichi's side.
    • Digimon Frontier: Dynasmon and Crusadermon are Lucemon's Co-Dragons, continuing the work of the previous Big Bad Cherubimon. The two Royal Knights seek the human world to conquer and rule over it, particularly because of their interest in human data.
    • Digimon X-Evolution: The Royal Knights act as King Drasil's enforcers to complete Project Ark by killing all Digimon. We get to see only three of the Royal Knights, Omnimon, Magnamon and Gallantmon (all of which were the main protagonists' Digimon in the first three seasons), while Crusadermon's voice can be heard during one of their meetings. Gallantmon however is never seen doing anything evil, and he betrays King Drasil to save the Digimon, while Omnimon starts his slow Heel–Face Turn after the fall of his best friend Gallantmon. The freshly born Alphamon doesn't accept any of King Drasil's wrongdoings and convinces Omnimon to join his side, whereas Magnamon remains loyal to King Drasil.
    • Digimon Data Squad: Nine of the Royal Knights are shown in the anime (Alphamon makes a silhouetted cameo in the second opening). Craniamon acts as King Drasil's "gatekeeper", while Gallantmon, Magnamon, Dynasmon, Crusadermon (dubbed as LoadKnightmon), UlforceVeedramon, Omnimon and Leopardmon are sent out by King Drasil to destroy the human world in retaliation for Kurata's sins, while disregarding the innocence of most of humanity or that King Drasil's plan is severely flawed and could also destroy the Digital World. Kentaurosmon arrived in the human world first to spy on the humans, but he learned that the humans aren't that bad and he is the only one to oppose the other Royal Knights. Craniamon, who already has experienced the combination of Digimon and human power, experiences it a second time and joins the side of the saviors, now convinced that King Drasil isn't absolute. As they come to the same realization, Omnimon, Gallantmon, Magnamon, UlforceVeedramon, and Dynasmon eventually join Craniamon as well. LoadKnightmon and Leopardmon are killed by the Burst Mode Digimon and revert to their Digi-Eggs that are sent back to the Digital World prior to Craniamon's change of heart, and these two are shown to be especially nasty.
    • Digimon Story: Cyber Sleuth: This time, all of the Royal Knights show up with varying degrees of morality. The Digital World is infested by Eaters, digital creatures who were accidentally the result of human technology and their negative emotions. The Royal Knights act on King Drasil's will, but are split among each other since not all Royal Knights share the same opinion. Omnimon and Gallantmon are against the destruction of the human world and the former also manages to convince Magnamon to fight with them. They are joined by the new Royal Knight Jesmon as well as UlforceVeedramon from a parallel world (the other UlforceVeedramon is stuck between the human and digital world). On the other hand, Leopardmon leads the faction that wants to destroy humanity, with Crusadermon as the main enforcer. Examon, Dynasmon, Kentaurosmon and Craniamon are also on the side against humanity. Kentaurosmon however is mostly influenced by negative human emotions, and after he's beaten and shown mercy by humans, he's willing to explore the world with them, so he can have clear opinion about humanity and he later does eventually join the heroes saving both worlds. Similarly, Crusadermon is also negatively influenced by a human, mainly the host whose body she's inhabitating, turning her into an ambitious sadist. She both hates and likes those human emotions, giving humanity the fault that he turned out that way he is now while also embracing his new nature at the same time. Craniamon has second thoughts about King Drasil and Leopardmon's party once his lack of free will is questioned and he dies while feeling both hatred and delight towards humans. Dynasmon however remains loyal to King Drasil and Leopardmon, and he's glad that he proved his loyalty until the very end. Leopardmon is dead serious about humanity's destruction, and when he's killed by the other Royal Knights, he believes that this is also King Drasil's will and that his lord wants to destroy everything. Gankoomon remains neutral to the whole situation and doesn't particularly care whether humans or Digimon win; he only cares about training Hackmon. Even after Hackmon becomes Jesmon and chooses to fight for the humans, Gankoomon remains an observer and leaves matters to his disciple and the humans.
    • Digimon Adventure tri.: Neither Alphamon, Jesmon nor Omnimon are specifically referred to as Royal Knights. Omnimon, of course, is the trump card of the Chosen Children. Alphamon is King Drasil's enforcer and one of his Co-Dragons, in contrast to previous installments, where Alphamon would usually go against King Drasil's will (especially notable as this King Drasil lacks the good but flawed intentions that most of its iterations have). Jesmon isn't a villain, but ends up becoming an antagonist after the Chosen Children have decided to go against the Homeostasis's decision to exterminate Libra.
  • A House Divided: In spite of being the Digital World's protectors, they're prone to bouts of in-fighting depending on the continuity, based on their own morals regarding the concept of justice, as well as whether or not to serve a corrupt master. Digimon X-Evolution and Digimon Story: Cyber Sleuth are prime examples of this.
  • Ambiguous Robots: Despite their Holy Knight typing, almost all of them look like more like some flavor of knight-themed mech than humanoids in armor.
  • Ancient Order of Protectors: The group was founded in ancient times by Imperialdramon Paladin Mode for the purpose of establishing protectors for the Digital World and King Drasil. While the knights only appeared with modern times, the group was established many, many years ago.
  • Badass Crew: Only one or two usually appear in one season; with Digimon X-Evolution having four of them fighting each other forcing the Reset Button to undo the damage. Even in Digimon Story: Cyber Sleuth where all of them are present in some capacity, there's plenty of in-fighting between them. However, it is said that when the Royal Knights finally together in one cause, peace of the Digital World is nothing but ensured. Having said that, there are products where the Royal Knights actually fight all together in one cause: In the mobile game Digimon ReArise they join forces to defeat Lucemon Satan Mode and they fight against the Seven Great Demon Lords in Digimon Chronicle X.
  • Bishōnen Line: Many of them are humanoid and have evolved from more monstrous-looking forms. For example, Alphamon has evolved from the four-legged dragon DoruGreymon, Gallantmon has evolved from the part-cyborg dinosaur/dragon WarGrowlmon, Omnimon DNA Digivolved from the draconic WarGreymon and the beastly cyborg MetalGarurumon, etc.
  • The Chosen Many: They're all prophesised to gather and save the Digital World in a time of disaster.
  • Dragon Knight: Most of the knights are based on, derived from, influenced by, or flat out are dragons, most clearly Examon and UlforceVeedramon. They and others—Alphamon, Gallantmon, Jesmon, Magnamon and Omnimon—evolve from dragon Digimon as well. Dynasmon uses the wyvern in his motif, y'know, to shake things up.
  • King in the Mountain: Imperialdramon Paladin Mode founded the group in the ancient Digital World, then disappeared. Naturally, there is a prophecy that it will return. Alphamon, the proper head knight, is also perennially absent.
  • Knight in Shining Armor: All of them, naturally enough, though shininess depends on the members.
  • Knight Templar: At their worst, they are a highly dogmatic group who believe they are doing good by following the will of King Drasil even if it's something heinous like destroying a parallel world. This is usually only in the beginning, though. They often run into something that makes them question their extreme beliefs and end up changing for the better.
  • Monster Knight: They're all Digimon of the Holy Knight type, and have the appearance and personality you'd expect from a knight, such as a very strict code of honor.
  • My Master, Right or Wrong: The Royal Knights hold fast to whoever currently leads them. Whenever they serve under Alphamon or Imperialdramon Paladin Mode, they stand to do much good... except these two are almost never around, leaving an often corrupt King Drasil to take the helm.
  • No Mouth: Most of the Knights lack a visible mouth, usually due to armor covering it or lacking one all together. The only exceptions to this are Gankoomon, Examon, and Dynasmon (his is only visible when he shouts while performing his special attack.
  • The Paladin: The Holy Knight-type is reserved almost exclusively for members of the Royal Knights (the one exception being Rapidmon Armor, a Transformation Trinket Golden Super Mode whose Digi-Egg of Fate is Counterpart Artifacts with Magnamon's Digi-Egg of Miracles). Beyond that, even their most demonic-looking members both are sworn to chivalry and loyalty at worst and are members of Virus Busters family.
  • Specifically Numbered Group: While not as pronounced as the other groups, the number of members within the Royal Knights was confirmed to be thirteen according to Alphamon's profile.
  • 13 Is Unlucky: Evidently averted, since the group has thirteen members and is meant to be a force for good according to the lore.
  • To Be Lawful or Good: The Knights are often forced to pick a side as soon as they begin to realize that their current master might be corrupt.
  • Your Size May Vary: The way they are portrayed in terms of size seems to vary between "well-built NBA player" to "Humongous Mecha".

    Alphamon

Alphamon

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/alphamon.jpg
Debut: Digimon Pendulum X 1.0
Attacks: (Original) Digitalize of Soul, Alpha inForce, Seiken Gradalphanote ; (Dub) Soul Digitalization/Digitalize of Soul/DIGI of Soul, Alpha Gain Force/Alpha inForce, Divine Sword Grade Alpha/Blade of the Dragon King/Excalibur Gradalpha

While Alphamon is a Holy Knight, it is said that to the Holy Knights it is a being similar to a deterrent force, and as it doesn't appear in normal times, it is also called the "Aloof Hermit" who flutters a blue mantle, and is the "Royal Knight" assigned to the place called the "Empty Seat". Because it possesses the "Alpha inForce" ability, an ultimate force which, in battle, instantaneously replays the elapsed battle, although Alphamon's attacks are over in just an instant, you can't grasp how many attacks it actually unleashed, and in theory, you can only see the final blow that brought down its opponent. It can deploy a magic circle of Digimoji from its hands, which attacks and defends.

Alphamon appears in Digimon X-Evolution, Digimon D-Cyber, and most recently in Digimon Adventure tri. It is considered the nominal Mega form of Dorumon, and appears as such in most media. Alphamon is one of the Digimon that naturally carries the X-Antibody.

  • Aloof Ally: It is even referred as the "Aloof Hermit."
  • The Artifact: Alphamon's blue mantle and "Seiken Gradalpha" attacks are references to Grademon's blue cape and its "Souken Gradalpha"note  weapons. This is because Grademon was generally intended as Alphamon's Ultimatenote  form back when they were both created. This is technically still possible, but most sources tend to have Alphamon evolving from DoruGreymon, like in X-Evolution instead of Grademon.
  • Alternate Self: According to the card game and an official artist, “Digitalize of Soul” allows Alphamon to summon a more powerful golden version of its alternate self Dorugoramon to fight.
  • Badass Cape: The aforementioned blue mantle.
  • Beam Spam: How "Digitalize of Soul" works in animation; it summons a magic circle, firing beams of energy.
  • Bishōnen Line: Might be this to Dorugoramon as both of them are Dorumon's Mega form and digivolve from DoruGreymon.
  • Depending on the Author: Its Reference Book profile describes "Digitalize of Soul" as Summon Magic, while its animated appearance shows it as a Beam Spam attack.
  • Foil: To several different Digimon. Its name and placement in the Royal Knights make it one to Omnimon, and it wields the "Alpha inForce" while Omnimon wields the "Omega inForce". It also serves as a foil to Ouryumon, as they have a final form together (see below) and are both the evolutions of "prototype" digimon. Finally, it's also a foil to Dorugoramon, as they're both potential final forms for Dorumon through two potential evolution lines.
  • Instant Runes: Depending on the work in appears in, its Digitalize of Soul attack creates a magic circle that it commons a monster from. Digimon Story: Cyber Sleuth - Hacker's Memory has it create a magic circle in front of its hand and fire a Magic Missile Storm from that.
  • Irony: Alphamon is named after "alpha", the first letter of the Greek alphabet, and when paired with "omega", symbolizes the beginning while "omega" symbolizes the end. Not only did Omnimon appear well before Alphamon, he is chronologically the first Royal Knight to appear at all in the Digimon mythos.
  • I Work Alone: Only appears in times of great crisis, and generally acts on its own. In Savers, Alphamon was the only pre-existing Royal Knight that did not appear to aid King Drasil in attempting to destroy the human world. Strangely, it had a silhouetted appearance in the show's second opening, implying that it chose to ignore King Drasil's orders.
  • Oxymoronic Being: Not to the same extent as Gallantmon and Crusadermon, but its status as a carrier of the X-Antibody makes it one. For reference, King Drasil created Program X to solve the Digital World's overpopulation crisis by deleting select Digimon, and certain Digimon developed the antibody as a way of combating it, with several more being born with the antibody naturally inside them. Alphamon, as well as the entire Dorumon line before it, are such Digimon, making it quite ironic that an X-Antibody Digimon is not only a member of the Royal Knights, but also one of the strongest and most important of the bunch.
  • Power Crystal: The red jewel on its forehead is the same as the "old style interface" on Dorumon. It has a couple more on its hands.
  • Power Palms: It fires its Digitalize of Soul attack from Power Crystals on its hands.
  • Shaping Your Attacks: "Seiken Gradalpha" is a sword made of energy.
  • Shout-Out: To Arthurian Legend; As the holder of the "Empty Seat", Alphamon corresponds to Galahad. Alphamon is not the only member of the Royal Knights to reference Arthurian legend either; see Examon below.
  • Spam Attack: Depending on the work, Digitalize of Soul is either a Beam Spam or a Magic Missile Storm of green light fired from Alphamon's hand. When it's used as a Spam Attack instead of Summon Magic, anyway.
  • Story-Breaker Power: It's Alpha In Force ability allows it to instantaneously replay an elapsed battle so that it can unleash countless attacks in the same instant, making it theoretically impossible to see any of them other than the final blow that brought down its opponent.
  • Summon Magic: "Digitalize of Soul" is described as summoning a monster from another dimension (a giant golden Dorugoramon) in order to attack Alphamon's opponent.
  • Red Baron: It is called the "Aloof Hermit" due to not appearing in normal times, even less frequent than the other Royal Knights.
  • Time Master: The "Alpha inForce" it has access allows it to replay the battle again and again, performing numerous attacks in what appears to be an instant.
  • Worldbuilding: Its debut would finally reveal that the group has a total of thirteen members. With it being the seventh member revealed, this would confirm the existence of six more knights that would be introduced in the future.

Alphamon: Ouryuken

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/900px_alphamon_crusader_2.jpg
Debut: Digimon Pendulum X 3.0
Attacks: Digitalize of Soul, Kyūkyoku Senjin Ouryūkennote ; (Dub) Digitalize of Soul, Kyukyoku Senjin Ouryuken/Ultimate Ouryuken

Alphamon: Ouryuken is a form achieved when Ouryumon became a sword thanks to the power of Alphamon's magic circle. As Ouryumon is the final form of a "prototype digimon" that pursued further fighting strength, all of that strength became fully devoted to its attacks when it became a sword. To swing the Ouryuken is to wield all of the power contained within an Ultimate digimon at once, and as such, there are few Digimon that can survive being struck with such a blow — and even fewer digimon that can wield such a weapon.

Alphamon: Ouryuken appears in Digimon X-Evolution and Digimon D-Cyber.

  • Adaptation Induced Plothole: In X-Evolution, Ouryumon is nowhere to be seen, and Alphamon just pulls the Ouryuken out of nowhere like it's part of its standard abilities. This is also the case in Adventure Tri.
  • BFS: Though the Ouryuken looks more like an axe or halberd of some kind than a sword.
  • Equippable Ally: Ouryumon becomes to Ouryuken for Alphamon to wield.
  • Foreshadowing: Hisyaryumon, one of Ouryumon's pre-evolutions, has an attack called "Seiryujin", in which it turns into a sword, foreshadowing this as Ouryumon's final form.
  • Fusion Dance: In terms of gameplay mechanics for the card game and virtual pets, it's this for Alphamon and Ouryumon, but conceptually, it's more like Alphamon turning Ouryumon into a sword and then wielding it.
  • Hammerspace: Alphamon pulls the Ouryuken out of this in X-Evolution and Adventure Tri.
  • Living Weapon: The Ouryuken, naturally.
  • Only the Chosen May Wield: As said in its profile, no "average" digimon can wield the Ouryuken.
  • Power Gives You Wings: Is able to project angelic-looking wings made of energy from the structures on its shoulders whenever he wields Ouryuken.
  • Shapeshifter Weapon: Ouryumon transforms into the Ouryuken for Alphamon to wield.
  • Super Mode: The Digimon Accel has Alphamon attain this form through Burst Evolution rather than by fusing with Ouryumon.

Alphamon NX

Debut: Digimon NXEdge Style Action Figures
Attacks: (Original) Digitalize of Soul, Seiken Gradalpha; (Dub) Soul Digitalization, Blade of the Dragon King

A Super-Deformed version of Alphamon initially released as an NXEDGE Style action figure. It later appeared as a DLC Digimon in Digimon Story: Cyber Sleuth - Hacker's Memory.

  • Light 'em Up: Its Seiken Gradalpha attack is light-elemental.
  • Magic Missile Storm: It uses the same animation for Digitalize of Soul that the regular Alphamon does, just with its own model.
  • Non-Elemental: Its Digitalize Of Soul attack lacks an elemental affinity, as does Alphamon NX itself.
  • Power Palms: Like the regular version of Alphamon, it has Power Crystals set into its hands that it uses to create the magic circle for Digitalize of Soul.
  • Super-Deformed: The only visual difference between it and the regular Alphamon.

Alphamon BP

Debut: Digimon ReArise

A recolored version of Alphamon introduced as a potential Battle Park Master Cup prize in January 2021.

  • Gold and White Are Divine: It's a Holy Knight Digimon with white and gold armor.
  • Palette Swap: It has white armor with gold highlights. There's no corresponding recolor of Alphamon: Ouryuken as of yet.

    Omnimon

Omnimon (Omegamon)

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/omegamon.jpg
Debut: Digimon Adventure: Anode Tamer
Attacks: (Original) Grey Sword, Kuchu Grey Sword, Garuru Cannon, Kuchu Garuru Cannon, Ultimate Uppercut, Sword of Ruin, Double Torrent, Dash Grey Sword, Omega Sword, Omega Blast, Omega Howling; (Dub) Transcendent Sword/Grey Sword, Aerial Grey Sword, Supreme Cannon/Garuru Cannon, Aerial Garuru Cannon, Ultimate Uppercut, Sword of Ruin, Double Shot/Double Trent, Dash Grey Sword, Omega Sword, Omni Blast, Omni Howling

A Royal Knight who was formed from the fusion of the Virus Busters WarGreymon and MetalGarurumon due to the powerful wills of everyone who wished for goodness. It has combined the special qualities of two bodies, so it's a multitype warrior which can fully demonstrate those abilities for any given situation. It's equipped with a sword and shield on its WarGreymon-shaped left arm, and a cannon and missiles on its MetalGarurumon-shaped right arm. The mantle on its back is automatically deployed when it dodges its opponent's attacks or when it is flying.

Omnimon is the combined form of the Mega stages of Agumon and Gabumon, who are partnered to Taichi Yagami and Yamato Ishida (Tai Kamiya and Matt Ishida) both in the original anime and its 2020 reboot, and plays a major role in this form in Digimon: The Movie. It is also partnered to Hideto Fujimoto of the Alias III and Nokia Shiramine, jointly owned by Takuma Momotsuka and Akiharu Minase on Survive's Moral Route, and its Royal Knight incarnation is a major character in Digimon X-Evolution.

  • Ambiguous Robots: Omnimon is the product of a fusion between a Monster Knight and a Cyborg. Despite this, it has no visible organic parts and seems to be entirely mechanical.
  • An Ice Person: The Garuru Cannon is capable of firing shots at temperatures of absolute zero.
  • Arm Cannon: The Garuru Cannon, which comes out of its right arm.
  • Badass Cape: A white cape with red lining.
  • BFG: His Garuru Cannon. Larger than his head, and packs a punch.
  • BFS: His Grey Sword. The Digicode on it reads "All Delete".
  • Blade Below the Shoulder: The Grey Sword extends from its left arm.
  • Breakout Character: After its debuting in Our War Game, it has appeared in all subsequent seasons/movies, except Frontier (which instead featured an expy of him in the form of Susanoomon), App Monsters, and Ghost Game, in addition to its many video game appearances. This makes it one of the most featured Digimon in the franchise.
  • The Cape: Famed as a heroic protector of the Digital World in almost every anime appearance, even if it was originally serving a corrupt master.
  • Chest Insignia: Originally Omnimon had the image of a layered circle on its chest, but this was replaced with a vertically-split mashup of the Crest of Courage and the Crest of Friendship.
  • Equippable Ally: By transforming itself into the Omega Blade for Imperialdramon, it allows the latter to enter its Paladin Mode.
  • The Face: It is the most iconic Royal Knight in the Digimon mythos, being fused from two of the protagonists' most recognizeable Digimon and often being one of the first on the front lines. This is shown when the Puppet Digimon Omekamon dresses up like it because of how much it admires the Royal Knights.
  • Fusion Dance: Easily the most well-known example in the franchise; Omnimon is the product of a special fusion between a WarGreymon and a MetalGarurumon which was made possible by the powerful wills of those who wished for goodness.
  • Inconsistent Dub: Ever since Alphamon debuted, localizations whether keep its name as Omegamon, or change it to Omnimon (even if Alphamon is nowhere to be seen). As a result, several of Omnimon's variants have not been given the "Omnimon" moniker and are currently stuck as "Omegamon". Due to this predicament, creative liberties are being taken for such variants.
  • The Lancer: Is the second to Alphamon, and leads the Royal Knights in the field in its absence.
  • Luckily, My Shield Will Protect Me: The Brave Shield that WarGreymon utilizes is still usable from Omnimon's Grey Sword, allowing for a means of defense. This is an ability that is seldom utilized in media, with Digimon Adventure: (2020) being the most notable instance of Omnimon being able to do this.
  • Macross Missile Massacre: The Garuru Cannon can fire off MetalGarurumon's Grace Cross Freezer attack. Like the Brave Shield, it wasn't depicted using this ability until Digimon Adventure: (2020).
  • Playing with Fire: The Grey Sword is capable of creating fire, as seen in Cyber Sleuth.
  • Story-Breaker Power: Most of its anime appearances have it as this, either in base form or one of his variants. Fittingly, it's either used as the trump card or the narrative finds a way to keep it out of the fight. The major subversion to this comes in the second 02 movie where it falls victim to the Worf Effect, but even there, its data is instrumental in defeating the main villain.
  • Sword and Gun: Its weapons, which are also its arms, consist of the Grey Sword and the Garuru Cannon.
  • Sword Beam: Depending on the Artist, the Grey Sword attack is sometimes depicted as an arc of energy launched from the Grey Sword.
  • Worthy Opponent: It is this with Alphamon, as they have fought each other several ocassions, both usually evenly matched in combat.

Omnimon X (Omegamon (X-Antibody))

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/omegamon_x_2.jpg
Debut: Digital Monster Card Game
Attacks: (Original) All Delete, Grey Sword, Garuru Cannon; (Dub) All Delete, Transcendent Sword, Supreme Cannon

Theoretically, it is impossible for other Digimon to defeat Omnimon. This is due to its acquisition of the "Omega inForce", an ultimate force which, in battle, is able to instantly read ahead and respond accordingly. It is an ability which draws out and raises Omnimon's combat sense and potential to their utmost limits in all situations.

  • BFS: The Grey Sword is now much larger.
  • Combat Clairvoyance: The Omega InForce gives it the ability to predict the immediate future of a battle.
  • One-Hit Kill: Its special attack, All Delete, can completely delete his opponents with a single tap of the Grey Sword
  • Story-Breaker Power: Due to its ability to instantaneously read ahead and respond accordingly in battle, it is theoretically impossible to defeat.

Omnimon Zwart (Omegamon Zwart)

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/omegamon_zwart.jpg
Debut: Digimon Jintrix
Attacks: (Original) Grey Sword, Garuru Cannon; (Dub) Transcendent Sword, Supreme Cannon

In recent years, it has been confirmed that if the secretion "Black Digitron", which completely blackens one's figure, is mixed in with someone in one form or other, they will temporarily take on a black appearance, and during that time, their power will increase.

  • Dark Is Not Evil: Even though the Digimon is black, it still retains its vaccine attribute and still a member of the Royal Knights.
  • Fusion Dance: Alternatively he is the result of BlackWarGreymon and BlackMetalGarurumon fusing instead of just beign an Omnimon absorbing the Black Digitron.
  • Gold Makes Everything Shiny: Omnimon's blue markings are now gold.
  • Paint It Black: The influence of Black Digitron while digivolving has turned a Omnimon into Omnimon Zwart.

Omnimon Zwart Dnote  (Omegamon Zwart D)

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/omegamon_zwart_defeat.jpg
Attacks: (Original) Grey Sword, Garuru Cannon; (Dub) Transcendent Sword, Supreme Cannon

A form of Omnimon Zwart that was injected with a virus program by someone and turned into a berserker. It views all Digimon in its field of vision as menacing enemies, and anyone who approaches it is attacked without mercy. The raging virus program and lingering vaccine program within its body clash with each other, causing it to become unstable, and so its wounded body continues to run wild and tire without ever recovering. Occasionally, it will restrict using both of its weapons in order to suppress any damage the instant the vaccine program pushes back and it regains its sense of self.

  • The Berserker: Due to a virus corrupting it mixing with its Vaccine nature, it's on a constant rampage, unable to ever stop.
  • Black Cloak: Its cape now has a hood.
  • Fighting from the Inside: On occasion, Omnimon's true nature reasserts itself, and it holds back as much as it can, until the virus retakes control.
  • Lean and Mean: In may be damaged to the point of missing a lot of pieces, but it can still kick ass.
  • Red and Black and Evil All Over: Black armor, red eyes, red sword... even its cloak follows the color scheme.
  • Technicolor Blade: Red. The blade is broken and replaced with what looks like some kind of crystal.
  • Too Many Belts: Has belts wrapped all over its body.

Omnimon Alter-S (Omegamon Alter-S)

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/omegamon_alter_s_6.jpg
Debut: Digital Monster Ver.20th
Attacks: Grey Cannon, Garuru Sword

A new face of Omnimon, born from the fusion of the WarGreymon subspecies BlitzGreymon, and the MetalGarurumon subspecies CresGarurumon. Although it is a different individual from the Omnimon belonging to the Royal Knights, it retains its multi-type ability to wield the traits belonging to both Digimon, and is on par with Omnimon in terms of strength. It is a mystery how these Digimon came to fuse together, and whether this Omnimon was born out of someone's strong will or some sort of wish as well.

Omnimon Alter-S appears in Digimon Adventure: (2020), as a Mode Change of Taichi and Yamato's Omnimon.

  • Arm Cannon: Its left arm, which is the Grey Cannon.
  • Blade Below the Shoulder: Its right arm, which is the Garuru Sword.
  • Fusion Dance: Unlike regular Omnimon, which is the fusion of a WarGreymon and a MetalGarurumon, this one is made from a BlitzGreymon and a CresGarurumon, with BlitzGreymon being the cannon instead of MetalGarurumon and CresGarurumon being the sword instead of WarGreymon.
  • Gold Makes Everything Shiny: Its right arm, being made from CresGarurumon, is almost entirely gold.
  • Good Counterpart: Seems to be one to Omnimon Alter-B. While it is still a Virus type, it's also labelled a Holy Knight, and has a lighter color-scheme closer to that of the regular Omnimon.
  • Palette Swap: Is basically just Alter-B in brighter colours.
  • Shock and Awe: The Grey Cannon uses electricity, rather than the extreme cold of regular Omnimon's Garuru Cannon.

Omnimon Alter-B (Omegamon Alter-B)

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/screenshot_2020_12_30_omegamon_alter_b.png
Attacks: Grey Cannon, Garuru Sword

The Black Digitron secretion, deliberately mixed in by an unknown entity, caused Omnimon Alter-S to change into this black form. Although its power is heightened while it is in this form, it comes at the price of losing its sense of self, leaving it in a berserk state.

  • Arm Cannon: The Grey Cannon, although unlike the original version's Garuru Cannon, Sword Alter-B's version has a golden rectangular part sticking out of the Greymon's head.
  • Blade Below the Shoulder: The Garuru Sword, although unlike the original version's Grey Sword Alter-B's version takes the form of two prongs with no Digicode.
  • Evil Counterpart:
    • To Omnimon or possibly Omnimon X, with Omnimon being a vaccine type and mainly white while Alter-B is a virus type and mainly black. Even the weapon arms are switched with the MetalGarurumon arms forming the sword arm while the WarGreymon arm forming the cannon arm. It even has similar embellishments on its armor to the X-Antibody form.
    • Its Digimon Reference Book profile makes it an evil counterpart of Omnimon Alter-S (thought Alter-B was introduced first).
  • Gold Makes Everything Shiny: It has lots of gold highlights.
  • Laser Blade: The Garuru Sword.
  • Red and Black and Evil All Over: Has a lot of red features, particularly spikes.
  • Revolvers Are Just Better: The Grey Cannon looks like a revolver.
  • Spikes of Villainy: Has longer spikes than the other Omnimon variants.
  • With Great Power Comes Great Insanity: Normally, Black Digitron just gives 'mons a darker color scheme and a slight change in abilities. That happened with Omnimon here, but also drove it insane in the process. And someone did this on purpose.

Omnimon Merciful Mode (Omegamon Merciful Mode)

[
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/omegamon_merciful_mode.jpg
Debut: Digital Monster Ver.20th
Attacks: (Original) Gu-Rei Tounote ; (Dub) Fearsome Blade

An Omnimon which has an appearance like an angel, with white wings that flutter like a scarf. Having realized that there are some people that can only be saved by fighting and defeating them, Omnimon transformed into this form through sorrow and determination, and "Photon Spreads", lines of blueish-white light that resemble tears rolling down one's cheeks, have emerged across its whole body. The "Photon Spreads" run across its whole body, temporarily increasing its power drastically. It is a being that relieves Digimon that have become corrupt and are unable to revert back by imposing judgement upon them, and it is said that the targets it attacks are those who always had a good heart to begin with.

The Grey Sword that Omnimon was equipped with has also transformed into a katana called the Gurei Tou. It is a weapon for mercifully bringing down targets it slashes with a single stroke, swinging down its parting blade with a feeling of farewell in its heart.

It appeared in Digimon Adventure tri. as the combined form of Omnimon, Phoenixmon, HerculesKabuterimon, Rosemon, Vikemon, Seraphimon and Magnadramon, and was used to bring an end to Ordinemon's rampage. By proxy, in addition to Taichi and Yamato, it's also partnered to Sora Takenouchi, Koushiro (Izzy) Izumi, Mimi Tachikawa, Jou (Joe) Kido, Takeru (T.K.) Takaishi, and Hikari Yagami (Kari Kamiya).

  • All Your Powers Combined: The way it's formed in its debut is through Omnimon fusing with the other six DigiDestined partners.
  • Energy Weapon: Its "Garuru Haou" has it shoot out a freezing cold laser beam.
  • Katanas Are Just Better: The Grey Sword is now a katana.
  • Mercy Kill: Its whole reason for being is to deliver these, but only to Digimon who were fundamentally good to begin with.
  • Power Gives You Wings: In this form, Omnimon has angel wings instead of the usual cape.
  • Tron Lines: Its armor now has glittering blue lines.

Omnimon (Black) (Omegamon (Black))

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/omegamon_black_xros_loader.png
Debuted in: Digimon Xros Loader

  • Bread, Eggs, Breaded Eggs: Subverted. Its design seems to be a mix of Omnimon and Omnimon Zwart, the main body mostly looking like Zwart while the weapons are Omnimon's. Despite this, Omnimon Zwart first appeared in Digimon Jintrix several months after the Xros Loader toy was released.
  • Palette Swap: It has black armor, but with the regular Omnimon's orange Grey Sword and blue Garuru Cannon and chest-pattern.
  • Toyline-Exclusive Character: Only appears in the Japanese Xros Loader toy.

Omnimon NX (Omegamon NX)

Debut: Digimon NXEDGE Style Action Figures
Attacks: (Original) Grey Sword, Garuru Cannon (Dub) Transcendent Sword, Supreme Cannon

A Super-Deformed version of Omnimon initially released as an NXEDGE Style action figure. It later appeared as a DLC Digimon in Digimon Story: Cyber Sleuth - Hacker's Memory.

  • Ice Magic Is Water: Its Garuru Cannon attack is water-elemental because Hacker's Memory lumps ice abilities into the water element.
  • Super-Deformed: The only visual difference between it and the regular Omnimon.

Omnimon BP (Omegamon BP)

Debut: Digimon ReArise

A recolored version of Omnimon introduced as a potential Battle Park Master Cup prize in August 2021.

  • Bling of War: Its body is covered in gold armor.
  • Gold and White Are Divine: Its armor is gold and one side of its cape is white.
  • Palette Swap: Its armor is gold with a green gem in the center. Its cape has also been reversed, with the inner side being white and the outer side being red. Its Grey Sword is a similar shade of red to BlitzGreymon.
  • Primary-Color Champion: It has red and blue weapons to go with its golden armor and red-and-white cape.

    Craniamon

Craniamon (Craniummon)

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/787px_craniummon_cs.jpg

Debut: Digital Monster Card Game
Attacks: (Original) End Waltz, Claíomh Solais, God Breath; (Dub) Sharp Ringer/Waltz's End, Claíomh Solais, Power of Breath/Breath of the Gods

The Digimon which best understands decorum among the Royal Knights. It is a perfectionist, and competes with the other Royal Knights Digimon for the top two mission completion rates for King Drasils orders. When fighting with an opponent, its policy is always to defeat it with one-on-one combat, and if the opponent is a formidable enemy, its delight is supreme. Cranniummon's armor had its code modified by King Drasil, and was changed into Black Digizoid. It has become possible for it to generate a weapon and shield from its armor by accessing its data.

Craniamon X (Craniummon (X-Antibody))

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/craniummon_x.jpg
Attacks: Heodenings Waltz, Grand Gríðr

The Black Digizoid covering its whole body has become even sturdier, such that regular attacks inflict damage back upon the attacker rather than injuring Craniamon itself. Also, it has stowed the strongest magical shield "Avalon" on its back to show off its confidence in not needing to use it.

    Gallantmon

Gallantmon (Dukemon)

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/dukemon.jpg
Debut: Digimon D-Arc
Attacks: (Original) Final Elysian/Shield Attack, Royal Saber, Gram Slash, Royal Slash, Sky Gram Slash, Screw Saber, Duke Charge, Lightning Charge, Saber Shot, Gram Strike; (Dub) Shield of the Just/Final Purification/Final Burst/Final Elysian, Lightning Joust/Royal Joust/Royal Saber, Gram Slash, Shield Bum Rush, Spiral Saber, Gallant Charge, Lightning Charge, Saber Shot, Gram Strike

Gallantmon is a living contradiction, being a guardian deity of the Net despite being a Virus attribute, and if by any chance its balance is lost, it is possible for it to become a dangerous being. It is clad in holy armor refined and constructed from 99.9% pure Chrome Digizoid, and it wields the holy lance "Gram" in its right hand and the holy shield "Aegis" in its left. It honors chivalry, and is a loyal vassal towards its lord.

Gallantmon is the Mega form of Guilmon and appears as his penultimate form in several media. He's partnered to Takato Matsuda (Matsuki) and Kouta Hirose, and his Royal Knight incarnation has notable roles in Digimon X-Evolution and Digimon Data Squad, as well as in various video games.

  • Anti Anti Christ: Even though its nature as a Digital Hazard makes it an enormous threat to the Digital World, it rejects that in favor of being a champion of justice and protector of the Digital World.
  • Badass Cape: Wears a long red cape.
  • Balance of Good and Evil: If the network falls out of balance, there's a chance Gallantmon might become a violent and dangerous being. Dangerous potential is a trait of all of Guilmon's evolutions.
  • Bishounen Line: For the standard Guilmon evo line, a sign of having mastered its dangerous powers enough to put them to good use.
  • Chest Insignia: A small Digital Hazard marking adorns its cuirass and poleynst, which is a sign warning for "danger". It also bears the symbol of the Zero Unit, which represents evolution, but they're on its forehead and shield, respectively.
  • Cool Helmet: The visor of his helmet resembles Guilmon's face.
  • Dark Is Not Evil: Gallantmon is a virus Digimon with the Digital Hazard symbol on its chest, and yet is a member of the Royal Knights. Its bio even describes it as a living contradiction.
  • Depending on the Writer: Royal Saber is either a stabbing attack or a Sword Beam fired from the lance. Also applies to whether or not Gallantmon can fly without Grani.
  • Draconic Humanoid: Downplayed. Gallantmon isn't a Dragon Man-type, but he has Morphic Resonance with the draconic Kaiju of the rest of the Guilmon line.
  • Expy: Gallantmon comes from the standard Guilmon evo line, nearly all of whom are Darker and Edgier expies of the Agumon evo line, but unlike the other stages, Gallantmon inverts the trend by becoming a more elegant creature than his predecessor, being the holy knight to WarGreymon's dragon man.
  • Holy Hand Grenade: Being a Holy Knight, most of its attacks fall into this category.
  • Implausible Fencing Powers: In some appearances, Gallantmon is able to wield his lance with the dexterity of a master fencer—in the second Tamers movie he slices and dices his way through a Parasimon's wild Combat Tentacles to cut Ruki Makino loose from its clutches, all without harming a single hair on Ruki's head.
  • Interfaith Smoothie: Gallantmon, whose main weapon is named for Sigurd's sword "Gram" and whose Power Up Mount is named for Sigurd's steed "Grani", may as well be Digimon incarnation of the hero of The Saga of the Volsungs. However, his shield Aegis and its Finishing Move "Final Elysian" takes their Stock Weapon Names from Classical Mythology.
  • Jousting Lance: The holy lance, Gram. Unusually, it's also a Blade Below the Shoulder.
  • Knight in Shining Armor: Noted to be chivalrous. Gallantmon is one of the most consistently righteous knights in his appearances.
  • The Lancer: An incredibly lame pun aside, it will usually be this to Omnimon when the Royal Knights work together.
  • Luckily, My Shield Will Protect Me: The holy shield, "Aegis".
  • Morphic Resonance: Gallantmon's visor-crown is cast in the mold of Guilmon's head and they share the Digital Hazard Chest Insignia.
  • My Master, Right or Wrong: Described as being very loyal to its lord. Ironically, it is often portrayed as the first Royal Knight to turn against King Drasil in support of the greater good, as shown in Digimon X-Evolution and Digimon Data Squad.
  • Oxymoronic Being: It is a Virus Digimon, yet it exists as a protector.
  • Shapeshifter Weapon: Its arms are sometimes portrayed as turning into "Gram" and "Aegis".
  • Shield Bash: Several of its attacks from the video games do this.
  • Shock and Awe: "Lightning Charge", which is launched from "Gram".
  • Shout-Out: As with MegaloGrowmon, the cable extending from its head is a visual throwback to Neon Genesis Evangelion.
  • Stock Weapon Names: "Gram" and "Aegis" are both named.
  • Sword Beam: "Royal Saber" and "Saber Shot" can both do this.
  • Wave-Motion Gun: "Final Elysian", a powerful blast of holy power fired from Aegis.
  • Worldbuilding: While it was the third Knight to appear, it was when Gallantmon debuted that the franchise introduced the Royal Knights organization to the mythos.

ZERO ARMS: Grani

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/screenshot_2020_12_30_zero_arms.png
Debuted in: Digimon Tamers
Attacks: Dragon Driver, Yuggoth/Yuggoth Blaster

ZERO ARMS: Grani is not a Digimon, but a digital life-form and weapon that Gallantmon can ride upon and command. Together, their power increases dramatically, and can be likened to a knight and its horse.

Gallantmon Crimson Mode (Dukemon Crimson Mode)

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/954px_dukemon_crimson_next0rder.jpg
Debut: D-Arc Ultimate Version
Attacks: (Original) Quo Vadis, Invincible Sword, Blutgang, Dash Blutgang, Gungnir; (Dub) Crimson Light/Final Justice/Quo Vadis, Invincible Sword, Blutgang, Dash Blutgang, Gungnir

A hidden form of Gallantmon whose body is clad in armor that shines crimson. Because it has fully released its power, its armor portions possess the heat to dye them red. For that reason, it is unable to maintain Crimson Mode for a long duration. Within its chest is its Digicore, which sealed the "Digital Hazard", and when it discharges all the power in its body, a pinnate energy emission can be distinguished coming from its back. It wields a divine lance of light, "Gungnir", and a divine sword of light, "Blutgang", energy weapons that have no physical form.

Crimson Mode is the final stage that Gallantmon is able to take naturally. Its only notable partner is Takato Matsuda (Matsuki).

Gallantmon X (Dukemon (X-Antibody))

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/dukemon_x.jpg
Debut: Digimon Pendulum X 2.0
Attacks: Sieg Sabernote , Final Elysian, Royal Saber

Gallantmon also has a form when affected by the X-Antibody. Carrying out its devotion as a knight, this Gallantmon threw itself into the sacred battle and was at last blessed with the supreme sacred armor, sacred lance, and sacred shield. Its sacred hybridized equipment is formed from the combination of the rare metals "Red Digizoid", "Blue Digizoid", and "Gold Digizoid", as well as Chrome Digizoid that boasts the highest known purity. Since its form was remodeled in order to demonstrate its holy power, the lance of light emitted from its sacred lance Gram was amplified, and it acquired a new Special Move called "Sieg Saber" which lengthens it. In addition, it is said that Gallantmon's red mantle from before acquiring the X-Antibody was given to the hero, Leomon.

  • All Your Powers Combined: Its armor has the combined strength of Blue, Red, and Gold Digizoid as well as regular Chrome Digizoid.
  • Badass Cape: Notable because it got a new one, while its old one got passed on to the X-Antibody version of Leomon.
  • Energy Weapon: Gram now sports an energy blade, which can extend as part of its "Sieg Saber" technique.
  • Gratuitous German: The "Sieg" in "Sieg Saber" is German for victory.
  • Power Crystal: Covered in them, as with many X-Antibody Digimon.
  • Unobtanium: More so than usual! Gallantmon X-Antibody's armor is a hybridized version of three rare Digizoid varieties, and they're of the highest purity too. Plus, 100% Pure Regular Chrome Digizoid.

ChaosGallantmon (ChaosDukemon)

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/chaosdukemon_8379.png
Debut: D-Ark Ver. 1
Attacks: (Original) Judecca Prison, Demon's Disaster, Waking Dead, Spiral Wailer, Duke Charge, Falling Lance, Shield Destructor, Chaos Shot, Cruel Balmung; (Dub) Judecca Prison/Mystic Pulse, Demon Disaster/Chaos Disaster/Damaging Pierce, Waking Dead, Spiral Wailer, Gallant Charge, Falling Lance, Shield Attack, Chaos Shot, Cruel Balmung

Yet another form of Gallantmon, which has awoken to its instincts as a Virus-species. Its heart and thoughts are completely Dark Side, and it is nothing more than the "Digital Hazard" that brings calamity to the Digital World. It is clad in black, demonic armor refined from high purity Chrome Digizoid just like Gallantmon, and its right hand can become the demonic lance "Balmung" while its left hand can become the demonic shield "Gorgon". It is definitely a being set in opposition to Gallantmon.

A ChaosGallantmon is partnered to Julia and acts as a co-commander for the Night Claw faction.

ChaosGallantmon Core (ChaosDukemon Core)

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/screenshot_2020_12_30_chaosgallantmon_c.png
Attacks: Dark Hazard, Call Leo, Infinity Ice Arrow, Chaos Slash, AT Change

ChaosGallantmon Core is a form taken by ChaosGallantmon when it is affected by the program known as the "Chrono Core".

  • An Ice Person: Its Infinity Ice Arrow attack generates icy projectiles.
  • Barrier Change Boss: Its AT Change! attack alters its strengths and weaknesses.
  • Casting a Shadow: Its Dark Hazard attack generates a field of darkness.
  • The Corruption: It's the result of ChaosGallantmon being infected by the Chrono Core.
  • Red Eyes, Take Warning: Its right eye glows a red-orange color due to the Chrono Core's influence.
  • Palette Swap: Looks like a blue Gallantmon, though the right side of the helmet has been altered.
  • Status Effects: Can inflict confusion with Chaos Slash and paralysis with Dark Hazard.

Gallantmon Chaos Mode (Dukemon Chaos Mode)

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/screenshot_2020_12_30_gallantmon_chaos_mode.png
Debut: 8" Warp Digivolving Figure: Gallantmon/ChaosGallantmon

"Gallantmon Chaos Mode" is a Digimon that does not technically exist. Rather, it is a redeco of a Gallantmon Crimson Mode toy released in the American toyline during the airing of Digimon Tamers. Obviously, it was colored in accordance with ChaosGallantmon's colorscheme (and as the toy involves snapping armor over the base "Gallantmon" design, the toy represents it too) and effectively serves as ChaosGallantmon's answer to its good counterpart's mode change. However, since this Digimon is not recognized anywhere else, including by Bandai of Japan, "Gallantmon Chaos Mode's" existence is at best apocryphal.

Gallantmon NX (Dukemon NX)

Debut: Digimon NXEDGE Style Action Figures
Attacks: (Original) Final Elysian/Shield Attack, Royal Saber; (Dub) Shield of the Just, Lightning Joust

A Super-Deformed version of Gallantmon initially released as an NXEDGE Style action figure. It later appeared as a DLC Digimon in Digimon Story: Cyber Sleuth - Hacker's Memory.

  • Light 'em Up: Both of its attacks are light-elemental, as is Gallantmon NX itself.
  • Non-Indicative Name: The English version of Hacker's Memory renames its Royal Saber attack to Lightning Joust despite it being light-elemental.
  • Super-Deformed: This is the only visual difference between it ant the standard Gallantmon. This means that its lance practically covers its entire arm.

Gallantmon BP (Dukemon BP)

Debut: Digimon ReArise

A recolored version of Gallantmon introduced as a potential Battle Park Master Cup prize in May 2021.

    Magnamon

Magnamon

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/magnamon_4.jpg
Debut: D-3 Version 1
Attacks: (Original) Extreme Jihad, Plasma Shoot, Magnum Punch, Magnum Kick, Shining Gold Solar Storm, Miracle Glitter, Light Aura Barrier; (Dub) Magna Explosion/Extreme Grab/Plasma Blast/Extreme Crusade, Magna Blaster/Plasma Shoot/Plasma Shot, Magna Punch, Magna Kick, Shining Gold Solar Storm, Magna Blast, Aura Barrier

An Armor-level Holy Knight Digimon that evolved through the power of the Digi-Egg of Miracles, which possesses the attribute of Metal and is made of the super-metal Chrome Digizoid. It possesses tremendous defensive ability, but also has offensive power equivalent to that of a Mega Digimon, or greater. Those who acquire the power of the Digi-Egg of Miracles, no matter what kind of predicament they fall into, are able to overcome it through that miraculous power, and as such its definitely appropriate to call it a Miracle Item.

The only Armor-level Digimon in the Royal Knights, Magnamon is an Armor-evolved form of Veemon through the Digi-Egg of Miracles, and appears in a prominent role in Digimon Adventure 02 and its first movie. It is partnered to Daisuke (Davis) Motomiya.

  • Blue Is Heroic: It retainsthe blue skin when it was Veemon underneath its armor.
  • Gold-Colored Superiority: Its armor is colored gold, and it is considered the most powerful Digimon of the Armor Level.
  • Good Luck Charm: Because it is powered by the Digi-Egg of Miracles, Magnamon is capable of overcoming any predicament it gets into by using the miraculous power sealed within its body.
  • Large Runt: Magnamon is the smallest of the Royal Knights, but still tall compared to a human and very imposing-looking.
  • Lizard Folk: Magnamon is an evolution of Veemon, and underneath his armor, bits of Veemon are plainly visible. It almost looks like a variation of Flamedramon as a result.
  • Macross Missile Massacre: "Plasma Shoot".
  • Red Baron: It is sometimes called the "Radiance of Miracles."
  • Symbol Motif Clothing: It bears the Crest of Miracles on its loinguard.
  • Transformation Trinket: In order for a Veemon to evolve into Magnamon, it must use the power of the Digi-Egg of Miracles.
  • Unobtanium: Its armor is made from gold Chrome Digizoid, which increases the physical strength of its bearers.

Magnamon X

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/magnamon_x.jpg
Attacks: Extreme Jihad, Plasma Shoot

Chrome Digizoid grows stronger the more it is tempered, and there exists no other metal quite like it. Magnamon's imaginary super-metal has become one with its limits, and was able to grow and regress as if it were made of muscles. The natural form of Chrome Digizoid (in other words, the Digi-Egg of Miracles) was created using ancient technology, and its original characteristic was how it could be integrated into living organisms; a state similar to that, when combined with Magnamon's abilities, is thought to be the manifestation of a miraculous evolution. When Magnamon's muscles, or Chrome Digizoid, are strained, they temporarily transform into Gold Digizoid, which envelops its entire body in a golden glow. Not only does it raise physical defense, it also bestows a state of defense capable of resisting even data-disintegrating types of attacks. Furthermore, when in the Gold Digizoid state, its properties are similar to those of Huanglong Ore, which boasts unparalleled, absolute hardness and is used as the base for Chrome Digizoid; as such, in addition to absolute defense, it also adds a great amount of weight ill-suited for Digimon, though Magnamon has overcome that by tempering its own Chrome Digizoid.

  • Gold Makes Everything Shiny: Not that it wasn't shiny before, but now it's even more golden and a lot more shiny.
  • Lean and Mean: Much leaner than its regular form.
  • Lizard Folk: Just like its non X-Antibody counterpart, Magnamon-X is an evolution of Veemon, parts of it can easily be seen.
  • Super-Toughness: In his Golden State, his armor has absolute hardness and is so strong that it is capable of resisting data-disintegrating types of attacks.

Magnamon BP

Debut: Digimon ReArise

A recolored version of Magnamon introduced as a potential Battle Park Master Cup prize in January 2021.

  • Gold Makes Everything Shiny: Its Palette Swap in Digimon ReArise has black armor with gold mechanical parts, which is the opposite of the standard color scheme. The Crest of Miracles is still gold.
  • Palette Swap: Magnamon BP's armor has a reversed color scheme from the standard variety. Its actual body is left unchanged.

    Dynasmon

Dynasmon

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/dynasmon_7.jpg
Debut: Digimon D-Scanner 2.0
Attacks: (Original) Breath of Wyvern, Dragon's Roar, Dragon Collider; (Dub) Breath of Wyvern/Dragon Breath/Wyvern's Breath, DNA Disintegrator/Dragon Thrower/Dragon's Roar, Dragon Collider

Dynasmon possesses the powers of the wyvern and is a unique being among the Royal Knights, in that it serves the lord who embodied its own sense of justice with deep, unquestioning loyalty. For example, for the sake of its own justice, it won't hate its lord even if they are called "Evil". For that reason, it has a strong spirit of chivalry and bushido, with a character that honors devotion, fidelity, and courtesy. With its tenacious, dragon-like power, and dragon armor made from high-purity Chrome Digizoid, it boasts unparalleled strength.

Dynasmon is usually, but not always portrayed as an antagonist due to its own loyalty being its Fatal Flaw. Its most known role is in Digimon Frontier, where it served as one of the Co-Dragons to Lucemon alongside Crusadermon.

  • All Your Powers Combined: Its "Dragon's Roar" attack uses the attributes of the Warrior Ten.
  • Catch and Return: Shown to absorb the elemental attacks of the protagonists in Digimon Frontier and throw them back at them.
  • Convection, Schmonvection: Its "Dragon Collider" creates a vortex so hot, it reaches the temperature of a star's core. Which is at minimum ten million Kelvins. It's a wonder how Dynasmon doesn't destroy the whole world using it.
  • Dragon Knight: It carries the powers of the wyvern, and is slightly draconic in appearance.
  • Elemental Powers: Its Dragon's Roar can use the elements of any of the Warrior Ten.
  • Fantastic Nuke: Its Dragon Collider causes several Wyverns to converge and create an explosion on this scale.
  • Honor Before Reason: As listed under My Master, Right or Wrong below, Dynasmon will never betray its master, no matter if it's an angry King Drasil calling for mass annihilation against mankind or even Lucemon, the latter of which being one of the Seven Great Demon Lords that the Royal Knights are usually fighting against.
  • Horned Humanoid: Has a couple of forward-facing horns on his helmet.
  • Knight in Shining Armor: Takes it further than Gallantmon; Dynasmon follows both the code of chivalry and bushido.
  • Light Is Not Good: Its more virtuous qualities are not thrown away when Dynasmon is portrayed as a villain.
  • My Master, Right or Wrong: Even if its master is considered evil, Dynasmon will never turn against them. This is often Played for Drama; if King Drasil ever deploys the Royal Knights for the sake of annihilation, expect it to always participate in it and butt heads with anything who resists.
  • Power Crystal: One on the palm of each hand. They are used for his "Dragon's Roar" attack.
  • Power Palms: "Dragon's Roar" is two energy blasts on any elements fired from the jewels on its palms.
  • Red Baron: It calls itself the "Passionate Warrior" in its anime debut.
  • Shaping Your Attacks: "Breath of Wyvern", which channels its energy into the form of a gigantic wyvern.
  • Spikes of Villainy: Not neccessarily a villain (though it has many an antagonistic role), but Dynasmon has a great deal many spikes on its armor for a knight-like character.
  • Token Evil Teammate: Save for Crusadermon, it's the other Royal Knight that has been consistently featured as an antagonist, though usually due to its loyalty to its master. The only time it's not been an enemy is in the Xros Wars Manga.
  • Winged Humanoid: Has a couple of purple, tattered wings on its back.

Dynasmon X (Dynasmon (X-Antibody))

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/dynasmon_x.jpg
Debut: Digimon Pendulum X
Attacks: Dragon's Gust, Breath of Wyvern, Dragon's Roar

Although the powers of the wyvern have been drawn out exceptionally, transforming it into a baleful figure, its dragon armor is mostly composed of the lightest-weight rare metal "Blue Digizoid". Nevertheless, it is because of the excess, tenacious power of the wyvern that makes the large, heavyweight Dynasmon reach high altitudes in an instant with a sweep of its wings.

  • Horn Attack: Its new attack, Dragon's Gust, involves a midair charge ending with it impaling an enemy on its horns.
  • Lean and Mean: Much thinner than his normal form.
  • Power Crystal: Covered in them like most X-Antibody Digimon in addition to the ones on its hands, which now make up the entire palm.

    Crusadermon

Crusadermon (LordKnightmon)

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/lordknightmon.jpg
Attacks: (Original) Urgent Fear, Spiral Masquerade; (Dub) Fist of Athena/Fist of Fear/Silver Fear, Spiral Slice/Spiral Masquerade

Crusadermon is the monarch that presides over all Knightmon. More than morality, Crusadermon is faithful to what it personally regards as "Justice", and that end justifies their means. If it will bring about lasting peace, Lord Knightmon will find merit there, even with "Rule by Power". In its entirety, it has unparalleled ruthlessness in the execution of its duties, and it shows no compassion for the weak.

As you can expect, Crusadermon is usually depicted as an antagonist. In Digimon Frontier, it served as one of the Co-Dragons to Lucemon alongside Dynasmon, and in Digimon Story: Cyber Sleuth, it's one of the most gung-ho about eliminating the human world.

  • Agent Peacock: Whenever it's depicted as a male. Its pink, slender figure and sometimes campy personality belie its nature as a ruthless enforcer of justice.
  • "Blind Idiot" Translation: Its name in the dub of Digimon Data Squad is LoadKnightmon, which is a clear corruption of Crusadermon. It's also an example of Inconsistent Dub, since its usual English name remains as Crusadermon.
  • Eyeless Face: It lacks any visible eyes.
  • Foil: To Gallantmon. Both are the only Virus-attribute members of the Royal Knights, and are prone to being destructive. However, Gallantmon is a classic Knight in Shining Armor, rarely going out of his way to cause damage and is dedicated to saving Digimon. Crusadermon carries out its tasks in a much more ruthless mannner, slaughtering innocent Digimon and humans without a second thought. Also, Gallantmon can be persuaded to turn against his master once the facts are laid out, while Crusadermon knowingly follows its master even if they are evil and a major threat to the Digital World. Lastly, Gallantmon is a protector of the innocent in defiance of his nature as a Digital Hazard, while Crusadermon is an absolute jerk in contrast with the much more chivalrous Knightmon that he evolves from.
  • Jerkass: Notably ruthless among the Knights, has no compassion for the weak, and doesn't mind serving an evil master if it believes they will bring about everlasting peace.
  • Mercury's Wings: It sports two gold wings on its helmet. Unlike Lucemon Falldown Mode, they seem to be metal.
  • Mook Commander: It is the monarch over the Knightmon, meaning it leads the armed forces of the Royal Knights in battle.
  • Oxymoronic Being: Despite being a Holy Knight Digimon and member of the Royal Knights serving under King Drasil, not only is he Virus-typed, he also shows no compassion for the weak, to whom the Royal Knight were set up to protect.
  • Pile Bunker: The "Fist of Athena" attack retracts the small portion of Crusadermon's shield in before they get in place at high speed to deliver a devastating blow to their target.
  • Pink Means Feminine: It is covered in pink armor, which has led to it being portrayed as a female in some media, such as the English dub of Frontier, and both the Japanese and English versions of Cyber Sleuth.
  • Red Baron: In its anime debut, it calls itself the "Indifferent Warrior."
  • She's a Man in Japan: Though a Camp male in Frontier, it was dubbed as a female in English, presumably due to being pink and fixated on beautiful things (as well as to avoid having an homosexual-coded character in a kids' show). The dub of Savers/Data Squad subverted this and left it as a male. However, other media such as Cyber Sleuth portrays it as female even in Japanese. This makes it one of the few Digimon to be portrayed as both genders.
  • Shield Bash: The small shield on their right arm makes for an excellent weapon.
  • The Smurfette Principle: Crusadermon is the only Royal Knight to have ever been depicted as a woman, making it the sole female member of the Royal Knights in those instances.
  • Something about a Rose: Crusadermon is often depicted carrying a rose with it while not in combat. Seen in both Frontier and Cyber Sleuth.
  • Stealth Pun: His name is one on the pink mineral rhodonite, since Ls and Rs are more or less interchangeable in Japanese.
  • Token Evil Teammate: As appropriate for a Virus-type Digimon, it is the nastiest member of the group; he is willing to kill off his fellow Digimon if necessary. Each appearance it has made to date (save for the Xros Wars Manga) has been as an antagonist.
  • Utopia Justifies the Means: His dogma is "bringing about lasting peace justifies its means".
  • Whip Sword: "Spiral Masquerade" uses the ribbons on his armor as this.
  • Would Hurt a Child: As shown in Frontier and Data Squad, it has no qualms about attacking innocent children, be they human or Digimon. It shows absolutely no pity for the weak, which contradicts its own role as a Royal Knight.

Crusadermon X (LordKnightmon (X-Antibody))

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/lordknightmon_x.jpg
Debut: Digital Monster X
Attacks: Lord of Fraternity, Noblesse of Rougenote , Kyukyoku Sentotsuken Gran Rozerionote

Crusadermon also has a form affected by the X-Antibody. Wielding the Rose's Pile Bunker, a rose-shaped shield used for both offense and defense, as well as the Rose's Fencer, a rapier, it sports a noble form and has attained even more power befitting of the lord of knights. By analysing the battlefield using the red crystal embedded in its visor, it is now able to consistently lead its allies into advantageous situations in battle. The way it controls the tide of battle is akin to how a musician performs their song; this aura of absolute power it gives off strikes fear into all in its surroundings. Not only that, its ribbon blades have been strengthened along with its armor, and it is able to concentrate the power of its Knightmon subordinates into the tip of its blades

  • Conducting the Carnage: Described as dominating the battlefield as though it were performing music.
  • Dance Battler: It slices the enemy apart with its dance-like "Lord of Fraternity" attack.

In that prophecy is written the appearance of the Royal Knights, the guardian deities of the Network, and based on the prophecy, it is said that the Digimon that are called the Royal Knights will assemble at the time of the Digital World's greatest crisis. UlforceVeedramon possesses the swiftest speed among the Royal Knights, and there is no one that can follow its movements. Also, its body is wrapped in holy armor made of the lightest-weight rare metal Blue Digizoid, which is rare even among Chrome Digizoid, so it can cleave the sky and split the earth. It can extend weapons and a shield from the "V Bracelets" equipped to both of its arms.

UlforceVeedramon is noted as a potential final evolution for the Veemon line, and is the Mega form of Zeromaru, who is partnered to his world's version of Taichi Yagami. It is also partnered with Rina Shinomiya.

  • Blade Below the Shoulder: UlforceVeedramon's signature weapon is an energy sword that materializes from its wrist.

  • Cape Wings: Its wings resemble and function as a tattered cape when not flying.
  • Chest Blaster: Its attack "The Ray of Victory" is a V-shaped light beam fired from the insignia on its chest.
  • Chest Insignia: The golden V on its chest. The letter V is prominent in the Veemon line.

  • Laser Blade: The V-Bracelet blades.
  • Magitek: Its V-Bracelets.
  • Out of Focus:
    • Compared to the other Royal Knights, it hasn't been explored within the anime, despite having major roles in the manga. It was pretty much a Satellite Character in the season it debuted in.
    • UlforceVeeDramon's Future Mode hasn't reappeared anywhere since V-Tamer.
  • Story-Breaker Power: It possess the Ulforce ability, which allow it to rewrite its data faster than direct deletion attacks can keep up with

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/ulforceveedramon_x.jpg

The Ulforce, its own ultimate force, has been drawn out further, even more so than its swift speed. The Ulforce also has remarkable healing abilities, so it instantly self-recovers from any damage. • Animal Battle Aura: Its Dragon Impulse attack cloaks it in a dragon-shaped aura.
  • BFS: Its Laser Blades are now as long as its legs. They're still wrist-mounted, too.
  • Healing Factor: The Ulforce has been amplified such that this form of UlforceVeedramon can heal itself instantly.

    Kentaurosmon

Kentaurosmon (Sleipmon)

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/sleipmon.jpg
Debut: Digimon Accel Ultimate Genome
Attacks: (Original) Bifrost, Odin's Breath, Muspellsheimr, Tactics-smear; (Dub) Inferno Frost/Bifrost, Icy Breath/Odin's Breath, Muspelheimr, Tactical Stomp

While most of the Royal Knights are Human Digimon, it has a bestial silhouette which could be called bizarre. Its whole body is clad in an armor of the "Red Digizoid" which boasts great defensive power, so even Ultimate Digimon are unlikely to be able to easily damage Kentaurosmon. Its six legs possess unsurpassed mobility, and it is capable of instantaneous, high-speed movements that its thick build would not suggest. Kentaurosmon acts as a guardian of the super-ancient ruins which sleep below the thick ice of the Digital World's north pole, since it is said that essential program data which concerns the creation of Digimon is sealed within these ruins.

Kentaurosmon is a potential, and prominent, evolution for Kudamon (2006). It is partnered to Rentaro Satsuma (Richard Sampson).

  • An Ice Person: Its shield, Nilfheimr, can be used to summon a blizzard, a technique called "Odin's Breath".
  • Faster Than They Look: Its bulky size and heavy armor belies the fact that it is one of the fastest knights, second only to UlforceVeedramon.
  • Horse Archer: Kentaurosmon is a centaur and its primary weapon is a crossbow mounted on its left arm.
  • Lightning Bruiser: Besides its high speed, it is also noted for having excellent defense thanks to its Red Digizoid armor. And it's not lacking in offense either, even if it's not talked about as often.
  • Luckily, My Shield Will Protect Me: The large shield on its right arm, which also houses its quiver.
  • Named Weapons: Its crossbow is named Muspellsheimr, and its shield Niflheimr.
  • Our Centaurs Are Different: Kentaurosmon has six legs and its humanoid front half has the head of a horse.
  • Red Is Heroic: It is covered in armor made from Red Chrome Digizoid.
  • Shout-Out: To Norse Mythology. Its name and design are based off of Odin's steed Sleipnir. The only difference is that it possesses six legs while its namesake had eight. Itweapons are named after two of the nine realms.
  • The Straight and Arrow Path: It wields a crossbow.
  • Super Mode: In addition to its Burst Mode below, the Digimon Accel gives it a Blast Mode, making it one of only three Digimon to have both and the only one where both are toyline-exclusive.
  • Super-Speed: Kentaurosmon is considered the second fastest of the Royal Knights.
  • Vertebrate with Extra Limbs: Kentaurosmon is a centaurian twist on Sleipnir; like the mythical horse, Kentaurosmon has eight limbs, but only six of them are legs, while two are arms that wield a crossbow and a shield.
  • World of Technicolor Hair: It has long purple hair.

Kentaurosmon X (Sleipmon (X-Antibody))

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/sleipmon_x.jpg
Debuted in: ''Digimon Chronicle X'
Attacks: Surtr Brander, Niflheimr Arrest

In addition to its six legs it had previously, it now possesses four arms after transformation, removing any delay between loading and firing and thus allowing it to shoot continuously while moving at instantaneous high speeds.

  • Horse Archer: Only now Muspellsheimr has been upgraded to a massive longbow, rather than a crossbow.
  • Kill It with Fire: Its "Surtr Brander" attack has it fire off dozens of hellfire arrows which incinerate anything they hit.
  • Multi-Armed and Dangerous: Kentaurosmon X has four arms compared to vanilla Kentaurosmon's two, allowing it to fire off Surtr Brander in quick succession.

Kentaurosmon Burst Mode

Debuted in: Digimon Neo Ver. 2

A Burst Mode of Kentaurosmon that appeared as a final evolution for Kudamon in the Digimon Neo Ver. 2 v-pets.

  • Battle Aura: Its sprite is the Digivice iC's Kentaurosmon sprite with a few stray pixels added around it to evoke this.
  • Toyline-Exclusive Character: It only appears in the Digimon Neo v-pets.

    Leopardmon

Leopardmon (Duftmon)

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/duftmon_3.jpg
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/duftmonleopard.png
Leopard Mode
Attacks: (Original) Aussterbennote , Ernst Wehrnote ; (Dub) Extinction Wave, Black Aura Blast [Leopard Mode] Wolkenkratzernote , Blockade, Eroberung note

A Holy Knight Digimon that is acknowledged even by the other Royal Knights as their foremost strategist. It has the invaluable ability to lead the Royal Knights, who each possess a dogma that they believe in. When it goes into personal combat it changes into "Leopard Mode" and races across the battlefield.

Its most notable role was in Digimon Story: Cyber Sleuth, where it served as The Dragon to a corrupted King Drasil and aimed to exterminate the human world to stop the Eaters. Before that, it was also featured alongside the other then-known Royal Knights in Digimon Data Squad.

  • Astonishingly Appropriate Appearance: His armor resembles a musketeer's or a European officer's on top of the whole "knight" look.
  • As Long as It Sounds Foreign: A statement from his designer stated that Leopardmon was designed to be a French musketeer, but his name and all of his attacks are in German.
  • Beware My Stinger Tail: Its tail can summon energy mines in Leopard Mode.
  • Cool Helmet: His visor resembles the head of a lion and flips down when attacking.
  • Cool Sword: Known as both the "Hakai no Tsurugi"note  and "Shoumetsu no Tsurugi"note  when using different attacks.
  • Dark Is Not Evil: Leopardmon has a dark color scheme and attacks with a decided "dark energy" theme, but its profile information does not suggest it to be more evil than any other knight. However, its major appearances in anime and video games have played Dark Is Evil straight and portray it as an antagonist, particularly in Cyber Sleuth, where it is the leader of the faction that wants to destroy the human world.
  • Department of Redundancy Department: As a result of his name being changed to Leopardmon in the dub, his second form is effectively "Leopardmon Leopard Mode" in the west.
  • Dishing Out Dirt: Leopard Mode's "Wolkenkratzer" causes towers of bedrock to erupt from the ground.
  • Expy: Leopardmon's design was based on Oscar François de Jarjayes, the protagonist of The Rose of Versailles.
  • Fluffy the Terrible: Its poofy, poodle-like tail gives off this vibe.
  • Genius Bruiser: Leopardmon is the Royal Knights' strategist, as well as a skilled swordsman in its own right whose Mode Change can run circles around its opponents.
  • Gratuitous German: The name of its attacks in Leopard Mode.
  • Lightning Bruiser: In Leopard Mode
  • Mega Neko: Its Leopard Mode is a giant armored feline with wings.
  • Multiform Balance: Its "Leopard Mode" is more like this than a Super Mode like most form changes, as his standard form and Leopard Mode have different advantages for different situations.
  • Multi-Directional Barrage: Leopard Mode's "Blockade" is a physical attack version, in which he speedily attacks his foe from multiple angles by running and flying at great speeds.
  • Panthera Awesome: Has a black lion theme, but this is only an element of its armor in his standard form.
  • Red Eyes, Take Warning: Averted in its normal form, who has green eyes. The red eyes are on its helmet, which do turn into normal eyes when it goes into Leopard Mode.
  • Right Makes Might: Its dogma is "Justice equals power."
  • Royal Rapier: It wields one that it uses for physical attacks, as well as to use its Sword Beams.
  • The Strategist: And the only one that can command all the Royal Knights without conflicting with their potentially contrasting ideologies.
  • Stuff Blowing Up: Leopard Mode's "Eroberung" attack, in which he surrounds the opponent with destructive mines.
  • Sword Beam: Two varieties, for both of his primary form's attacks: ** "Austerrben" - An arc painted across the sky during a downward swing, and "Ernst Wehr", a standard explosive energy blast.
  • Winged Humanoid: Small wings growing at his shoulders. In leopard mode they relocate to his hips.

Leopardmon X (Duftmon (X-Antibody))

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/duftmon_x.jpg
Debut: Digital Monster Card Game Alpha
Attacks: Braun Nebelnote , Eine Billionnote

Leopardmon also has a form when affected by the X-Antibody. The Chrome Digizoid covering its body has converted into the highly elastic Brown Digizoid, enhancing Leopardmon's flexible movements tremendously.

Leopardmon NX (Duftmon NX)

Attacks:(Original) Aussterbennote , Ernst Wehrnote ; (Dub) Extinction Wave, Black Aura Blast

A Super-Deformed version of Leopardmon based on the NXEDGE Style versions of Alphamon, Gallantmon, and Omnimon in a DLC for Digimon Story: Cyber Sleuth - Hacker's Memory. Though included with said variants, it has no corresponding action figure.

  • Casting a Shadow: Its Ernst Wehr attack is dark-elemental.
  • Light 'em Up: Both it and its Extinction attack are light-elemental.
  • Super-Deformed: This is the only visual difference between it and the regular Leopardmon.
  • Toyless Toyline Character: It's based on a set of action figures that included three other Royal Knights, but has no corresponding figure itself.
  • Yin-Yang Bomb: Subverted. While its two main attacks are of opposite elements, it doesn't combine them.

    Examon

Examon

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/900px_examon_cs_9.jpg
Debut: Digimon Story: Lost Evolution
Attacks: Avalon's Gate, Pendragon's Glory, Dragonic Impact

As Examon possesses an extraordinary data size, traditional digital tools were unable to completely render it, and its existence was discovered because it finally became possible to render it with the use of state-of-the-art digital tools. Although it belongs to the Royal Knights, it is simultaneously a being which stands at the top of all Dragon Digimon, and holds the alias of "Dragon Emperor". It possesses the gigantic, sentient wings "Caledfwlch" and the gigantic lance "Ambrosius". The Caledfwlch is a unique set of wings composed entirely of Chrome Digizoid, and at Caledfwlch's own will, it can at times change into wings for flight, or into a shield which defends Examon. The lance "Ambrosius" is loaded with special shells stocked with viruses which possess various effects, so Examon's attacks are quite diverse.

Examon is the Jogress Evolution of both of Dracomon's Mega forms, Slayerdramon and Breakdramon, but has also been associated with the Piyomon line in Digimon World Re:Digitize and Digimon All-Star Rumble. It is partnered to Akiho Rindou, as well as Kernel, the main antagonist of Digimon Story: Lost Evolution.

  • Beam Spam: "Pendragon's Glory," in which Examon ascends to the exosphere and rains down lasers from above.
  • Beware My Stinger Tail: Digimon All-Star-Rumble gives Examon an attack called Ambrose Strike which starts by impaling its enemy on its tail spike before throwing them.
  • Draconic Humanoid: It's a bipedal, roughly humanoid western dragon.
  • Fusion Dance: The most common and well-known way for Examon to form is through the two Mega levels of the Dracomon line: Slayerdramon and Breakdramon. Fitting for a Digimon that stands above all Dragon Digimon.
  • Giant Flyer: Is among the largest Digimon of all and still capable of flight.
  • Impaled with Extreme Prejudice: Its Ambrose Strike attack impales enemies first on its tail and then on the Ambrosius.
  • Jousting Lance: Ambrosius, which can impale and shoot special shells into the opponent.
  • Kaiju: Examon is as large as a skyscraper.
  • Kill Sat: The "Pendragon's Glory" technique has Examon move itself to the exosphere and rain Death from Above.
  • Living Weapon: Caledfwlch, which can switch between being a shield or wings for flight at will.
  • Luckily, My Shield Will Protect Me: Caledfwlch.
  • Our Dragons Are Different: More notable in this regard since while a good number of the other knights have draconic features, Examon's the only one that's completely draconic.
  • Red Baron: It holds the alias of "Dragon Emperor" since it stands at the top of all Dragon Digimon.
  • Red Is Heroic: It has red scales that cover most of its body.
  • Sealed Good in a Can: Inverted. Its profile indicates that it was simply too darn big to appear before it did.
  • Shout-Out: Its design, attacks and Caledfwlch's name draw from Arthurian myth.

Examon X (Examon X-Antibody)

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/examon_x.jpg
Its Holy Knight-type data has been drawn out, so it appears like a knight wearing a helmet and armor. It overflows with Dragon-type and Holy Knight-type power which swirls, creating Dragonic Plasma. Its high-energy "Kyūkyoku Senryūsou Ambrosius" has sentience, and the amount of energy it releases varies depending on how strong the opponent is.
  • Armored Dragon: It now wears a full suit of armor.
  • Laser Blade: The Ambrosius has been transformed into a double-ended laser sword.
  • Living Weapon: Ambrosius has been upgraded to one.
  • Primary-Color Champion: Its armor is white with red and gold pieces and it continuously generates blue plasma.
  • Shock and Awe: Examon's Draconic Plasma gives it lightning powers.
  • Storm of Blades: It can summon lightning swords from its Draconic Plasma and send them flying toward its enemies.

    Gankoomon

Gankoomon

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/gankoomon_cs_2.jpg
Debut: Digimon Collectors
Attacks: (Original) Tekken Seisainote , Jishin! Kaminari! Kaji! Oyaji!note , Chabudai Gaeshinote  (Dub) Striking with Fists, Quake! Blast! Fire! Father!, Table Flip

A Digimon who ascended to the "Royal Knights" because it is a Holy Knight Digimon. Although it is said to have taken up residence in the southwestern edges of the Digital World, it rarely stays in the same place, so it journeys across the Digital World while going around and putting a stop to unusual phenomena and signs of chaos, taking along the next-generation Hackmon as its companion. Unlike the other Royal Knights who rarely show their faces, it actually steps down and acts, and there are many Digimon it counts as bosom friends. In order to pass on its own title as a Royal Knight to Hackmon, it assigns it rigorous trials, and entrusts Hackmon's training to the Sistermon sisters on the way. Due to its stubborn personality, its dealing with Hackmon in a severe manner is a cruel sort of kindness of wanting it to keep up with the other Royal Knights and become independent. "Hinukamuy", who is emerging from its body, is always there for Gankoomon, and although no words escape its lips, it gets involved without wasting its breath arguing.

Introduced as part of Digimon's fifteenth anniversary. It also appeared as the True Final Boss of the PSP adaptation of Digimon Adventure, where it did battle with Taichi as well as Daisuke, Takato, Takuya, Masaru, Taiki and Tagiru.

  • Aloof Ally: Inverted; he's the only ally who's not aloof, and associates with other digimon.
  • Badass Longcoat: Wears a cool white one that seems to be always billowing.
  • Battle Aura: Gankoomon's power radiates as an orange draconic being.
  • Coat Cape: Wears a white cape off of his shoulders that always seems to be billowing.
  • The Chooser of the One: During its travels, it encountered Hackmon. Seeing that the Child Digimon had the potential of becoming the prophesied thirteenth Royal Knight, it recruited Hackmon, assigning it rigorous trials and training. Eventually, his training paid off, and Hackmon evolved into Jesmon.
  • The Drifter: Gankoomon travels the Digital World, putting an end to any kind of conflicts it encounters and rescues other Digimon.
  • Expy: Its design seems to be based off the mythical Emperor Guangwu of Han.
  • Familiar: Hinukamuy, the dragon like creature emerging from Gankoomon's body, is actually a Digimon in the process of evolving into an Adult. It is always there for Gankoomon, assisting the Knight in battle.
  • Fiery Redhead: Gankoomon is a passionate Digimon with deep red hair and Hot Blooded Sideburns.
  • Flipping the Table: One of his attacks turns the ground into a table for him to flip.
  • Hidden Eyes: Its eyes are covered by a gray visor, similar to the Angemon species.
  • Hu Mons: Most of the Royal Knights do look like monsters despite their overall humanoid shapes. Gankoomon's design makes it stand out as one that could easily pass for an actual human being.
  • Knight Errant: Walks the Digital World, helping out wherever there is trouble.
  • Manly Man: Gankoomon seems to have been conceived to be as macho as possible, what with the beard, the muscular physique, the hot-blooded personality and its penchant for close combat and rigorous training.
  • Rapid-Fire Fisticuffs: Its attack Tekken Seisai consists of Gankoomon and Hinukamuy unleashing many rapid punches at the same time.
  • The Mentor: For Hackmon. He's very harsh on the younger Digimon, but only because he wants Hackmon to succeed and become a Royal Knight. He also leaves most of the teaching to the Sistermon duo.
  • Token Human: The most human-like of the Royal Knights. Its own appearance is similar to the Bancho Digimon.
  • Training from Hell: In order to pass the title of Royal Knight to Hackmon, it assigns the Child Digimon to intense trials as they journey across the Digital World.

Gankoomon X (Gankoomon (X-Antibody))

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/gankoomon_x.jpg
By assimilating "Hinukamuy" into itself, it has manifested on Gankoomon's back along with the characters "Gankūmon". If it fully unleashes its surging aura, then that aura will transform into something resembling wings, exhibiting Gankoomon's power to its maximum.
  • Armor-Piercing Attack: One of its attacks is an uppercut that goes right through any defense.
  • Power Tattoo: Gankoomon X has absorbed Hinukamuy, which results in its manifestation as tattoos on Gankoomon X's back and arms.
  • Shoe Slap: It wields one of its base form's geta as both a weapon and a shield.
  • Walking Shirtless Scene: Gankoomon X has discarded its previous form's outfit in favor of going totally topless.
  • "X" Marks the Hero: Gankoomon X sports what appears to be a large, glowing, X-shaped scar across its chest.

    Jesmon

Jesmon

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/jesmon.jpg
Debut: Digivice Ver.15th
Attacks: (Original) Tekken Seibainote , Schwertgeistnote , OS Generics, Un Pour Tousnote  (Dub) Judgement of the Blade, Weltgeist, OS Generics, One for All

The crystal in Savior Hackmon's chest began to shine as it surpassed Perfect to reach its Ultimate form: a Holy Knight Digimon that acquired the title of a "Royal Knight", the highest rank of Network Security. It is endowed with the ability to sense the unusual phenomena and signs of chaos that occur all over the Digital World, and is the first of any of the Royal Knights to come running. Rather than act independently, it tends to employ teamwork such as making a coordinated response with nearby Digimon and the Sistermons, which is rare for a Royal Knight; it does so due to its trust in others and so that it will not become overconfident in its abilities. By observing and learning from the Hinukamuy of its mentor Gankoomon, Jesmon also acquired the trio "Atho", "René", and "Por" as part of its ascetic training. They are able to move and act independently under Jesmon's instructions, and boast formidable behavioral abilities such as landing direct attacks on the enemy, the protection of Jesmon, and the rescue of other Digimon.

Jesmon is partnered to Mon, a character from Digimon ReArise.

  • Ascended Fanboy: During its time as Hackmon, it dreamed of becoming a Royal Knight, which is why it was quick to accept Gankoomon's offer to train him. And it clearly paid off in the end.
  • The Baby of the Bunch: It is the youngest member of the group, but its capabilities make it one of the most powerful members of the group.
  • Badass Cape: A big red one.
  • Beware My Stinger Tail: Its tail ends in a sword almost as long as its body.
  • BFS: Two on its arms and its tail is a third.
  • The Cape: Jesmon is probably the most heroic and selfless of all the Royal Knights, getting others to pitch in when there's a disaster.
  • Chronic Hero Syndrome: Out of the Knights, Jesmon is always the first of them to respond to any disturbances or signs of chaos.
  • Draconic Humanoid: More humanoid than its prior level, SaviorHackmon, but still very draconic.
  • Familiar: Those fireballs that appear next to it in its artwork act as familiars.
  • Gratuitous French: One of its four attacks has a French name; Un Pour Tous, meaning "One For All".
  • Gratuitous German: One of its four attacks has a German name; Schwertgeist, meaning "Ghost Sword".
  • I Can't Do This by Myself: Played with. While it is more than capable of defeating any foe it encounters, Jesmon prefers to team up with any nearby Digimon when responding to any kind of threat. It does this purely because it knows it can trust its friends to help out, and so that it won't become overconfident in itself.
  • My Significance Sense Is Tingling: It has the ability to detect any unusual phenomena and signs of chaos that occurs throughout the Digital World.
  • Primary-Color Champion: Its armor is white with gold and blue highlights and a red cape.
  • Religious and Mythological Theme Naming: A possibly unintentional example. The three first letters of its name are an acronym formed by the first letters of "Justice", "Edge" and "Swordsman". After its creation, Watanabe Kenji pointed out how the name's pronunciation gave a similar vibe to Jesus, the central figure of Christianity. The name's pronunciation also evokes the Jesuits, a Catholic religious order.
  • Rookie Red Ranger: It's emphasized as the youngest and least experienced member of the Royal Knights, but it already comes with some truly staggering powers (such as OS Generics) that put it leagues above most of the other Knights. It even has another evolution beyond its X-Antibody form.
  • Shout-Out: Its familiars are named after the Three Musketeers, with the implication that Jesmon itself represents D'Artagnan. Additionally, one of its attacks involving the familiars is called Un Pour Tous (One For All), after the musketeers' motto.
  • Story-Breaker Power: It is able to rewrite its own data and perform acts that can transcend the very laws of nature, meaning Jesmon can defeat any foe before they can land an attack.

Jesmon X (Jesmon (X-Antibody))

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/jesmon_x.jpg
Debut: Digimon Chronicle X
Attacks: Tekken Danzainote , Shwertflügelnote , Kyuukyoku Senjin Seibakennote

Jesmon also has a form affected by the X-Antibody. The X-Antibody has transformed it into a form further specializing in offense, and turned the armor covering its body into blades. The multiple blades it has equipped are all capable of independent movement, giving Jesmon the attack power to one-sidedly overwhelm the opponent in single combat. Not only that, its three programs, "Atho", "Rene" and "Por" have all awakened and fused into a single Tactical Arms unit, giving rise to a new battle style that is aimed at all directions, not leaving a single spot untouched.

  • BFS: It has two greatswords on its arms, and the Kyuukyoku Senjin Seibaken, which it draws out of its DigiCore.
  • Super Mode: Thanks to the X-Antibody, it's managed to gain even more power.

Jesmon GX

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/jesmon_gx.jpg
Debut: Digimon Chronicle X
Attacks: Seiken Meppanote , Knights' Intruder

The final form of Jesmon, who went through harsh training with Gankoomon, and awakened its true power by fully mastering it. Its form, in which its entire body is brimming with fighting spirit and a sense of justice, wears the red color of blazing flames.

The "Unlimitive Gauntlet", which has become its main weapon, is a piece of equipment used for both offense and defense that switches between its respective Sword, Knuckle, and Shield Modes depending on the situation.

  • All Your Powers Combined: It channels the energy of the other Royal Knights along with its own for its Knights' Intruder attack.
  • Charles Atlas Superpower: This form is what happens when this trope is applied to the X-Antibody.
  • Expy: As a Draconic Humanoid with a Super Mode who gains wings and bright red armor, Jesmon is basically Gallantmon 2.0.
  • Morph Weapon: Its Unlimitive Gauntlet can transform into different types of equipment.
  • Primary-Color Champion: Its armor has become bright red upon evolution to reflect its fighting spirit and sense of justice, according to the description. It's also prominently blue and yellow. It's a stark contrast to the mostly white basic Jesmon.
  • Raise Him Right This Time: After the war against the X Demon Lords, he adopts Keramon X/Ogudomon X's Digitama to raise into the new 13th Royal Knight.
  • Surpassed the Teacher: He's surpassed Gankoomon in reaching his full power.

Jesmon [Anniv.]

Debut: Digimon ReArise

A recolored version of Jesmon introduced in June 2021 to commemorate the third anniversary of ''Digimon ReArise's launch date.

  • Black Swords Are Better: The sword on its tail is now black.
  • Palette Swap: It has red and yellow armor with a black cape. In this version, "Atho", "René", and "Por" are blue.

  • Technicolor Fire: This version's "Atho", "René", and "Por" are blue.
