Corrupted Objects

    In general
For tropes relating to specific types of C.O.s, please consult the relevant folders.

The inhabitants of the Counterside. They feed on Eternium and are highly aggressive. They are graded on a scale of 1 to 6.

  • Adorable Abomination: The Needler tends to be treated cutely in certain skins, showing their relative weakness as comedy rather than horror.
  • Eldritch Abomination: Weird mix of organic and machine, they are usually instinctual but sometimes can be controlled.
  • Enemy to All Living Things: With very few exceptions, C.O.s are hostile to all life on the Normalside.
  • Power Levels: The Administration places them into numbered Categories depending on their power level.
    • Category 1 and 2 tend to be manageable by conventional weaponry and most Counters, with 1 being a general nuisance and 2 being a potential threat.
    • Category 3 is the limit of what most Counters can handle on their own and require overwhelming firepower from conventional means.
    • Category 4 qualifies for Person of Mass Destruction status, capable of doing massive damage if left unchecked and requiring a powerful Counter or multiple skilled ones to take down.
    • Category 5 borders on Physical God, and is so rare that most people think they're just an urban legend.
    • Category 6 is even more rarely seen, to the point where even much of the Administration's personnel believe that the scale only goes up to 5. The emergence of one is usually the Administration's cue to pack up and abandon their current timeline entirely.
  • Spikes of Villainy: Corrupted Objects have a tendency to be fairly spiky in appearance, especially more powerful ones.
  • Tiered by Name: The basic C.O. varieties come in three increasingly powerful variations in-game, denoted by either having no prefix, "Mutated", or "Raged" in front of their name. They also have color changes to denote this, with the basic tier having red markings, Mutated enemies having purple, and Raged ones having green.
  • Was Once Human:
    • Shadows, also categorized as Demon-type C.O.s by the Administration, are Counters who have succumbed to either Corruption Rays, depleting their CRF, or severe injury from a C.O.
    • In Episode 5, Replacer King infers that the majority of C.O.s are the previous worlds' inhabitants that were absorbed into the Counterside.

    Category 1

    Category 2

Category 3

    Beast

    Tyrant
A Category 3 C.O. that occasionally appears in Danger Close. It has the discretion to wait for an opportunity, thus posing a greater threat.

It is a minor antagonist in "Bottom of the Shade".

  • Boss in Mook Clothing: They are huge C.O.s that are frequently used to denote stronger C.O.s but not special ones.
  • It Can Think: Its Danger Close bio notes that this is what separates it from the Beast type, which is dominated by instinct.

    Corrupted Body
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/60110_1560354402.png
A major antagonist in Administration Complete.

Category 4

    Nephil

    Britra the Thunderpeal
A large C.O. that occasionally appears after a Dispatch Mission is finished.

It makes an appearance in "For the Uncrying".

    Inhibitor
City defense systems installed in AD Cs that are designed to prevent C.O.s from appearing indiscriminately.

It occasionally appears as a corrupted Raid Boss in a research facility after a Dispatch Mission is finished.

  • A.I. Is a Crapshoot: It was built as a security system, but fell victim to corruption by the Counterside.
  • Kill It with Fire: 1 minute into its fight, the Inhibitor will activate flamethrowers to attack all units in play.
  • The Pawns Go First: Begins the fight with a The Wall (a defensive C.O. that can take a defensive stance during which it takes no damage, until the stance is broken by hitting it enough) in front as a roadblock that needs to be defeated before your units can go after the Inhibitor itself.
  • Rare Random Drop: During its Raid season, there's only a slight chance it will appear after a Dispatch Mission instead of a Dive.
  • Red and Black and Evil All Over: Its higher-level raids (Levels 130 and 150) change its armor from gray to black.
  • Stone Wall: In contrast to Britra, the Inhibitor's attacks are comparatively less devastating: it only throws out two big attacks throughout the fight (both of which are very predictable), and none of its attacks can hit your ship. Instead, it starts with a bulky minion in play and gains massive damage resistance early in the fight, so much of the challenge is managing to actually damage it, especially with its two board wipes taken into account (as they can easily remove multiple units from play).
  • Wave-Motion Gun: When the timer of its fight drops low enough, the Inhibitor fires a giant laser beam from its "mouth". It will also sweep the battlefield with smaller but still sizeable lasers at regular intervals.
    Moderator
A massive spider-like machine that was originally designed to scour the Counterside, it fell to Corruption and became a Category 4 C.O. Two versions from outside the main universe (Type A and Type B) occasionally appear in Danger Close.

It makes an appearance in "Vice President's Holidays".

  • A.I. Is a Crapshoot: A machine designed to find artifacts in the Counterside, before falling to its corruption.
  • Attack Its Weakpoint: In Danger Close, it takes more damage when attacked from behind.
  • Giant Space Flea from Nowhere: In "Vice President's Holidays", Machine G.A.P. theorizes that it was summoned to Mone's village after Sooyeon's Reactive Sword that Lara Jaeger was carrying worked as a catalyst with the unstable Dimensional Surface created by Lara's Counter ability. It ends up becoming the event's Final Boss.
  • Red and Black and Evil All Over: The main version and Type A have a red and black color scheme, whereas Type B has a yellow and black one.
  • Spider Tank: It's a quadrupedal mechanical C.O. with a spider-like form.
  • Too Injured to Save: In "Vice President's Holidays", Sigma almost manages to cure it after it's defeated, but unfortunately its sickness runs too deep.
    Demolition Worm
A giant worm-like C.O. that appears during Consortium Co-op.
  • Achilles' Heel: Notably, it is not immune to Silence at lower levels unlike most bosses, meaning units like Mone and John Mason can stop it from using its powerful abilities.
  • Flunky Boss: Constantly spawns lesser C.O.s to harass the player's ship.
  • Giant Space Flea from Nowhere: It's never really discussed why it appears or disappears.
  • Noodle Incident: In "For the Uncrying", Horizon remembers holding a grudge against Rivet after the latter lied about being a local guide to Campamento and provoked a Demolition Worm.
    Kraken

Category 5

    The Nameless One
A Category 5 C.O. that was encountered at the North Pole during the Grand Purification War. Jaina Kropel sacrificed herself to send both it and herself to the hyperdepths of the Counterside.

It is the main antagonist of "King's Memories".

Category 6

    Guardian of Sephira

    Hollow Gods (Episode 8 Spoilers)
Category 6 C.O.s whose very presence warps the area around them into imaginary space.

One of them, Khamimael, is a major antagonist in Episode 8.

  • Fallen Hero: Episode 10 reveals that Hollow Gods used to be the Antagonists of their respective worlds, but each of them was defeated by the Demon Lord that invaded their world.
  • Giant Space Flea from Nowhere: In Episode 8, Carlota summons Khamimael from the Qlipha Dimension to the Counterside after using the Nova-class Reactor and Mina's Qliphoth Factor on the Lighthouse.
  • Inconsistent Spelling: During Episode 8, Khamimael's name is sometimes spelled as "Kammimael". Episodes 9 and 10 consistently use the former.
  • It Can Think: Khamimael quickly figures out the weakness of Maria's Gargantua gear, and laughs when she realizes that it knows.
  • The Juggernaut: The task force led by Delta Seven has nothing that can faze an extremely powerful Corrupted Object like Khamimael; even Maria with her Gargantua gear can only slow it down. It takes the combination of Stormbringer Jake (the most powerful Counter known to the Administration wearing armor that enhances his abilities further) and Mina (who wields a god-slaying weapon) to put it down for good.
  • Meaningful Name: The music that plays when Khamimael descends is called "Descent of Sephira". In the Kabbalah, God can manifest in the physical world through the Sephira.
  • My Death Is Just the Beginning: Mina slaying Khamimael proves to be the final requirement for Ray to request the beginning of a Qliphoth Game.

Shadows

    In general
This is a folktale told in a small country somewhere.
If you see a man-shaped shadow when theres no one around, run away at once.
It's a shadow that didn't perish with its owner's death.
The shadow hovers around where it was left behind, looking for someone to go on a long journey with it.

Also known as Demon-Type Corrupted Objects, Shadows are C.O.s formed when a Counter's power run out and leaves them exposed to corruption rays. They are driven by an obsession with whatever last drove them in life.

  • From a Single Cell: Powerful Shadows can almost completely reconstitute themselves if their core remains intact.
  • Our Liches Are Different: They're basically a corrupted, undead form of Counter with many of the same properties as regular Corrupted Objects; additionally, powerful Shadows can recover from fatal injuries if their core survives, giving them the phylactery immortality attributed to many liches.
  • Was Once a Man: Most of them still retain their appearances from when they were alive, but are now Corrupted Objects rather than humans.

    Spira
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/spira.jpg
Voiced by: KR: Kang Saebom JP: Kanae Itō
Type: Counter/C.O.
Role: Striker
Rarity: SSR
Team: Demon-type C.O.
"This place smells... like home... Can I... stay here?"
A Demon-type C.O. who shows a strong desire to return to reality.

She is a minor antagonist in Episode 1.

  • The Berserker: She runs into battle with little mental mindset. At certain HP intervals, she jumps deeper into enemy backlines.
  • Body Horror: Her body is overflowing with corruption that her right arm has been turned into an Absurdly Sharp Blade and her left arm has claws. It's also implied that they cause her excruciating pain. "Bottom of the Shade" reveals that none of her current limbs are hers and are pieces of mercenaries that Ministra "reassembled" to her.
  • I Just Want to Be Free: She really wants to go home.
  • I Just Want to Be Normal: She really wants to revert back to Dash.
  • Promoted to Playable: She made her playable debut as a Counter Pass unit alongside "Bottom of the Shade".
  • Reluctant Monster: Her playable version is surprisingly tame for a C.O., even expressing the desire to not hurt anyone.
(completing a Branch mission) "So there's something else I could do... instead of just tearing things apart..."
  • Screaming Warrior: She often lets out screams of rage and agony when attacking.
  • Starter Villain: She's the first Shadow that Mina encounters and defeats, especially with Wolvesbane.
  • Voice of the Legion: She has a reverb in her screams and a couple of voice lines.
  • Was Once Human: She was once a Counter that was corrupted by the Counterside. The ending of "Bottom of the Shade" reveals that she is the remaining parts of Dash after Rita (now Ministra) "reassembled" her.
  • When She Smiles: Getting a Great Success in a Salary Negotiation with her causes the usually-frowning or scowling Spira to give a small smile, evidently doing her best to seem happy while apologizing that she forgot how to celebrate.
  • Woobie, Destroyer of Worlds: Her status as a Shadow really isn't her fault at all, and she isn't even entirely malicious - she just very much wants to return home and, unfortunately, is dangerously unstable and violent as a result of her corruption.

    Ministra
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/ministra.jpg
Voiced by: KR: Bi Jueon JP: Ami Koshimizu
Type: Counter/C.O.
Role: Ranger
Rarity: ASSR
Team: Demon-type C.O.
"You already know what awaits me in the end... but you still want me? I guess I'll humor you for the time being."
A Demon-type C.O. who reassembles her dead enemies into objects that spread fear and hopelessness.

She is a major antagonist in Episode 1, and she makes an appearance in "Bottom of the Shade".

  • Fan Disservice: Her exposed chest has a hole with an ominous red cube floating inside it.
  • Lightning Bruiser: She has very high attack modifiers, a lower than average Deployment Cost for an Awakened unit, and the ability to summon a Mutated Spira which is even stronger than regular Spira. Her offensive prowess was so overwhelming that for some time, it was not uncommon for players to reach the top of real-time PVP with an auto team.
  • Fanservice Pack: As a result of being designed by horns degenerates for the Creator Conest, her "Adoration for Flowers" skin has her given an upgraded bust a shorter and slightly chubbier torso, andmd hasms her red cube concealed.
  • Navel-Deep Neckline: Her neckline goes all the way down her chest to her navel.
  • Promoted to Playable: Her Awakened form made its playable debut alongside "Bottom of the Shade".
  • Starter Villain: She turns out to be the first Demon Lord Apostle that Coffin Company defeats.
  • Terms of Endangerment: While cornering the ALT Squad, she calls them "darling". In her Lifetime Contract, she also starts calling the CEO as such.
  • This Is Unforgivable!: She does not take Spira's defeat lightly. It's because Spira was what little of Dash remained.
  • Was Once Human: She was once a Counter that was corrupted by the Counterside. "Bottom of the Shade" reveals that she used to be Rita Arsenico before she accepted Thagirion's power.
  • We Can Rebuild Him: She herself states that she rebuilt Spira specifically, which she demonstrates in gameplay as an enemy. She can also summon a mutated Spira as a unit when she goes below half health.

The Great Shadow's Fragment (Unmarked Spoilers for "The Iron Knight")

Gerard Curian

During the fall of Nordnavik twenty years ago, Gerard Curian, a Grade S Counter who led the country's 1st Musketeer Division, took down Medius at the cost of his own life. As a Shadow, he is driven to attack anyone approaching Medius's cymbals.

Aporia (Unmarked Spoilers for "Dead End Road")
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/60110_452934782.png
The Shadow of Jake Walker from Delta Seven: Pathfinder's Worldline. The previous leader of the group, Jake went MIA luring the Nephil into a portal, but is revealed to have become a Shadow obsessed with becoming a king over the spilled blood of his enemies.

He is the main antagonist of "Dead End Road".

  • Alternate Self: He is Jake Walker from a Worldline that never had the Administration.
  • Came Back Wrong: After going MIA in the Counterside, he kept fighting until he died. Then he's revealed to have come back as something else...
  • Irony: Antonov refuses to let Karin's cowardice make Colonel Walker's sacrifice a tragedy.
Antonov: A hero who sacrificed his life for this world is now attempting to annihilate mankind, regardless of his will.
  • Meaningful Name: An "aporia" is an irresolvable contradiction.
  • Red and Black and Evil All Over: When Shiyoung's attack cuts through the armor of his mask, his eyes are revealed to be a menacing black with red irises.

Doppelgangers

    In general
C.O.s that emerged from Shadow Palaces and take on the appearances and abilities of surrounding entities exposed to corruption, whether they be Counters, soldiers, or even mechs. Unlike regular C.Os, they require a constant fuel of Eternium, and as incomplete C.O.s they're driven by the desire to consume their original to become whole.

Maze Division (Unmarked Spoilers for "End of the Maze")

  • Bad Boss: In stark contrast to her base, Doppelganger Lyudmila has no problems with viciously berating her troops and throwing their lives away. This eventually bites her when Doppelganger Alex decides she's had enough and tosses her into the Chronos mech as fuel.
  • Monstrous Cannibalism: They're not above devouring each other to grow stronger.

The Elysium Philharmonic

    As a group
The ruling authority of the lost world of Elysion, the Elysium Philharmonic possess powerful sonic and mental manipulation technology.

The faction first appears in "Carnival".

  • Amazon Brigade: All of the Philharmonic's leading members are female, and are powerful Shadows.
  • Arc Villain: They serve as the Greater-Scope Villain for a story arc spanning numerous side stories, including the Jehuty Biotech arc ("Hearing You", "First Lesson", and "For the Uncrying") and "Old Fear" before taking center stage in "Carnival".
  • The Bad Guy Wins: "Carnival" effectively ends with them getting exactly what they wanted: Maestra is reformed, and they're free to retreat until they're ready to strike again.
  • Evil vs. Evil: Implied. Despite being natives of Elysion, they don't seem subservient to Thagirion like her explicit Apostles (Sollicitatio, Nervier, and Ministra). Considering what Nequitia did to Thagirion's sister, they might actually be Thagirion's enemies.
  • Greater-Scope Villain: To Jehuty Biotech, Eckhart's Society for Preternatural Research, and both sides of Gronia's civil war, using all of them to serve their own ends.
  • Humanoid Abomination: They're all Shadows, with many of the same properties as other Corrupted Objects in spite of their still-human appearances.
  • Laser-Guided Karma: In "Frozen Corridors". Due to the ridiculous amount of enemies they made they end up having to fight Mors, Horizon, Maze Division, Prydwen, the Holy Curia, Chris, and the Southern Border Guards all at once.
  • Mechanically Unusual Fighter: All of the playable characters are different in their style of fighting compared to the usual actions of their class, with the divergence ranging from mild to very signficant.
    • Maestra Nequitia is a moving Tower who inflicts debuffs rather than attack.
    • Shena is a close-range Sniper.
    • Carmen's healing depends on her landing critical hits on her enemies.
    • Luna is a flying Defender.
    • Plaga is a Ranger who doesn't have a basic attack and instead buffs allies.
  • Ms. Fanservice: They wear very form-fitting outfits that reveal a fair bit of skin, and most of what they wear appears to be black leather. Carmen and Shena also have unlockable skins putting them in skimpy bikinis.
  • Musical Assassin: They fight using Magic Music from their instruments.
  • Playing Both Sides: While Gronia's civil war had been ongoing for a long time even before Maestra resurfaced in the Gronian capital, her emergence means that the Philharmonic are able to manipulate both the government and the rebels for their own ends. They first used the rebels to supply Jehuty Biotech with test subjects, and when Horizon dismantled the corporation they shifted their manipulations toward the government instead while using Montagne as an Unwitting Pawn on the rebels' side.
  • Sadist: All of them seem to enjoy inflicting suffering and Mind Rape onto humans.
  • Set Bonus: Unlike most other factions, Elysium Philharmonic units are designed to be used together to reap their maximum benefits. Maestra Nequitia empowers the skills of other Elysium units, while Carmen grants additional benefits to C.O. units specifically (which the Elysium members are). Even their ship, the Chorus, provides additional benefits to Elysium Philharmonic units with its Special.

"Greetings, Administrator. I am Maestra Nequitia, the chief conductor of the Elysium Philharmonic."
The Chief Conductor of the Elysium Philharmonic, she is a Category 5 Demogorgon-type C.O. and an old enemy of the Old Administration.

She first appears in "Carnival".

  • Barrier Warrior: Her new form in Episode 11 shows her utilizing force fields.
  • Batman Gambit: "Carnival" reveals that she made a deal with Louise Schneider to save her daughter Leah: she would revive Leah (via using Mental Printing on her), and Louise would simply do her utmost to protect Leah. Louise didn't know that Nequitia's core would lay dormant within her daughter until it reformed, much less that Nequitia's appearance in the Normalside killed her husband and put Leah on the verge of death in the first place.
  • Butt-Monkey: Due to her blindess, she is often reliant on others to help her get dressed. Official Comics humorously show her getting a sukumizu swimsuit and being detained as an exhibitionist.
  • Breaking Old Trends: The first playable Awakened Tower.
  • Cruel to Be Kind: She hid from Thagirion/Audra the fact that her sister became a mass murderer and had to be stopped by the Philharmonic.
  • Disability Superpower: She's blind, but she can see people through the sounds they make.
  • Heel–Face Turn: In Episode 11, she decides to fight Thagirion in Coffin-6 to prevent the latter from awakening.
  • Humanity Ensues: Her life as Leah Schneider/Revenant has made her rather hesitant to attack Leah's mother and Chris. Downplayed as it is also implied that she's slowly shedding all of her human emotions and will eventually hunt both of them down.
  • Instrument of Murder: As a maestra, she summons shadowy figures that use violins and cellos. She is also accompanied by an amalgamation of horned and string instruments.
  • Kick the Dog: Her debut scene is telling Montagne how her brother died after she subjected him to a series of personality transplants via her Mental Printing.
  • Mechanically Unusual Fighter: In two senses: she's a Tower unit that moves from the ship to the center of the battlefield, and instead of directly attacking the enemy she deals passive damage via debuffs while she's on the field.
  • Navel-Deep Neckline: Her outfit is completely open from neck to waist, and the only things covering her chest are some ornate accessories.
  • Support Party Member: Maestra doesn't even have a basic attack and deals low damage compared to other Awakened units until she manages to reach the center of the field, at which point she casts her Ultimate to amplify her debuffs to the point where pretty much everything dies. She instead supports allies by inflicting heavy debuffs on the enemy, including percent-based health drain, a very powerful damage amplification effect, and reduction to damage dealt, and amplifies the stats and skills of allied Elysium Philharmonic units.

    Shena
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/shena.png
Voiced by: KR: Jang Mi JP:
Type: Counter/C.O.
Role: Sniper
Rarity: SSR
"Oh, I'm just a wandering trobairitz, Shena. For some reason, I'm gonna have to hang my hat with you guys for now. So why don't we put our differences aside and indulge in my music instead?"
A member of the Elysium Philharmonic, she's a violent and sociopathic Shadow who treats everything as a game.

She is a major antagonist in "For the Uncrying".

  • Balance Buff: Her Special no longer forces her into the frontline, but its buff was reduced from 8 seconds to 5.
  • Because You Were Nice to Me: In "Goodbye Tanaberin", she sacrifices herself to let Luna escape because the latter didn't devour her core after she sustained injuries during the events of "Frozen Corridors".
  • Freudian Excuse: In "Carnival", she describes how the thoughts of a Shadow are overly focused on their original body's last thoughts. When Alex rebukes it, Shena admits that it's only a pretense to what she does.
  • The Heavy: She's the one carrying out schemes for Elysium Philharmonic for most of their storyline with Maestra incapacitated and Carmen undercover. She's also the main threat in "For the Uncrying", even though Wilbur is nominally holding her leash.
  • Hyper-Competent Sidekick: She actively tries to hinder, predict, and eventually fight Horizon with more efficiency and foresight than her "employer" Wilbur.
  • Instrument of Murder: She uses a violin with a sword as the bow to send out explosive notes.
  • Limit Break: Lethal Harmony.
  • Ms. Fanservice: Her outfit is a skintight leather dress that cuts down to her abdomen.
  • Mundane Utility: One of the reasons she recommends becoming a Shadow? It lets her eat as much as she wants and not gain any weight.
  • Villain Takes an Interest: In the ending of "For the Uncrying", she's shown to be fascinated by Lyudmila, as the latter retained her identity as a Shadow without any technology like Mental Printing. She even invites her to join the Elysium Philharmonic if the Administration betrays her, but the latter pointedly refuses.
  • Walking Swimsuit Scene: Her "A Summer Busker" skin.
  • Worthy Opponent: She appears to genuinely enjoy fighting Horizon, who also sees her as one in return; the android notes that for all her flaws, Shena is a formidable fighter and a much more competent adversary than her boss.

    Carmen
Voiced by: KR: Yoon Eunseo JP:
Type: Counter/C.O.
Role: Supporter
Rarity: SSR
"Don't be shy. Loosen up to my melody. Fu fuu fuu."
A member of the Elysium Philharmonic, she is a Shadow with a penchant for treating people she fancies as her pets.

She is a supporting character in "Carnival".

  • Bitch in Sheep's Clothing: She is this even by Elysium Philharmonic's standards, as she engineers a situation where Maestra is forced to kill Louise and then tried to usurp her position.
  • Cat Girl: She has cat ears and a tail. Bizarrely enough, she's the first character shown to have any sort of animal-like features. It's implied that those features were originally Alice's.
  • Good Powers, Bad People: She has incredible healing abilities, but she's still an evil Shadow that treats humans as pets and livestock at best.
  • I Am Not Pretty: She thinks her body is ugly because of the scars on it. More specifically, the scars that Alice got on her body prior to Carmen taking it. Carmen even states that she's slowly been trying to get it closer to her original body which she claims is... softer.
  • Instrument of Murder: She uses a contrabass.
  • Nightmare Face: She gives off a scary one with a Slasher Smile during her Ultimate.
  • Possessing a Dead Body: She's using the body of Old Administration commander Alice, who's mentioned to have sacrificed herself to take down Simurgh.
  • The Tease:
"Oh my, those eyes... Do you want to play with me? Or be played with?"
  • White Magician Girl: Focuses on healing and supporting her allies.

A member of the Elysium Philharmonic, she is the Cymbalist.

She is the main antagonist of "The Iron Knight".

  • Demonic Possession: She slowly starts taking over the body of Hanna Anderson's impostor.
  • Depower: Once the Holy Relic in Curian/David reactivates, it blocks her Mind Rape powers and forces her to fight head-on. The battle isn't explicitly shown, though the epilogue suggests that she was Killed Off for Real or at least destroyed again.
  • Hate Plague: A favorite tactic of hers is to give her enemies hallucinations that make them attack their allies or even innocents nearby, usually resulting in them also being Driven to Suicide once they realize what they've done.
  • Instrument of Murder: She uses cymbals.
  • Mutual Kill: With the real Curian, who slew her in battle but also became a Shadow due to the toll taken by her. As a Shadow, she survived through her core.

"You want to hear my performance? Ah... you are in love with rainy days as well. Very well, then."
A member of the Elysium Philharmonic who is avoided by her fellow members because of her introverted nature and ominous atmosphere.

She is a minor antagonist in "Goodbye Tanaberin".

  • Shout-Out: Her Ultimate is a reference to Gloomy Sunday, also known as the Hungarian Suicide Song.
  • Uniformity Exception: She's the only member of her group who doesn't sport her crest on her chest.

Scavengers

    As a group
A pirate group who experiments with Artifacts, to the point of residing in the Counterside to stay out of the Administration's reach.

They're the antagonists of Dive Levels 46-50.

  • Asskicking Leads to Leadership: According to Rojo, this is the group's first rule. They consider Machine Collector their interim leader because her Counter power is both their natural weakness and their ticket to reactivating their true leader, Evolved One.
  • Batman Can Breathe in Space: Despite spending most of their time in the Counterside, they're never seen being affected by corruption as a result of it.
  • Cyborg: The regular Scavenger members have various cybernetic body parts, and are classified as both Soldiers and Mechs.

    Evolved One
Voiced by: KR: Bang Siwoo JP: Mariya Ise
Type: Mech
Role: Defender
Rarity: ASSR
"You... I can see evolutionary potential in you, despite your humble origin. Cooperate with me."
A mech whose "brain" was under surveillance by the Alphatrix Group until it was stolen by the Machine Collector. She's also the leader of the Scavengers.

She first appears in Dive Level 50.

  • Animal Motifs: Her overall design and apex predator motif evoke the image of a Tyrannosaurus rex.
  • Brain Uploading: Her AI is the uploaded brain of Dr. Ember, who contributed to the creation of Horizon and Titan.
  • Bribing Your Way to Victory: If her banner is active, a player can simply roll for her instead of clearing Dive Level 50.
  • Defeat Means Playable: Clearing Dive Level 50, a Brutal Bonus Level with Evolved One herself as a borderline Superboss, allows you to purchase her Unit Data from the Shop and unlock her as a unit.
  • Double Unlock: A player who doesn't roll for her during her banner has to go through a Triple Unlock: first clear Dive Level 50 to unlock the Gold Bullet shop, then farm Gold Bullets to buy her Unit Data, and finally Scout her in the CEO's Office. All this requires a ton of time and progress (especially after the New Origin update added Dive Permits as a timegate).
  • Lightning Bruiser: Good lord is she ever. Despite her class being a Defender, she operates more as a Striker with the ability to fight Air and Ground units simultaneously, can give herself an ATK and DMG resistance buff up to 45%, and at Skill Level 5 her Ultimate ignores half the DMG resistance on enemies hit.
  • Loophole Abuse: To get the most of her buffs, you need to sacrifice three of your Mechs on the field at the time of her deployment. Kyle Wong's bulwarks and Awakened Seo Yoon's telekinetic rifles somehow count.
  • Nuke 'em: Her Ultimate fires off what's essentially a mini-nuke complete with a mushroom cloud. Not only does it inflict the severe damage you'd expect from such an attack, it partially ignores enemy defense at Skill Level 5.
  • Sixth Ranger: The epilogue of "Proof of Heart" shows her as part of the Dark Council, having accepted Machine Collector's invite in Dive Level 50.
  • Social Darwinist: Very much so. She's the source of the Scavengers' creed of "the strongest one rules".
  • Solo Class: She not only devours your own Mechs on deployment, but she also cannot be healed or receive temporary buffs. Combined with her high cost, and you have a unit that's intended to be the sole focus of a team.

    Raúl and Rojo
Two prominent members of the Scavengers.

They're antagonists in Dive Levels 46-50, with Rojo being the boss of Dive Level 49.

Tropes applying to both

  • Blood Knight: Rojo enjoys fighting strong enemies, while Raúl just likes to kill them. Rojo is level-headed enough to know when they're badly matched though, and restrains the latter from taking on opponents that are out of their league, such as Machine Collector.
  • Evil Duo: They banter with each other in scenes involving the Scavengers. Raúl is the shiftier of the two, while Rojo is more level-headed and often has to keep Raúl in check.
  • Villainous Rescue: When the protagonists find themselves stuck in imaginary space at the end of Episode 9, Raúl and Rojo call out to them.

Tropes applying to Raúl

  • Gratuitous Spanish: He often peppers his speech with Spanish words.
  • The Starscream: He doesn't particularly like having to work under the Machine Collector, and behind her back he complains about her and talks about getting rid of her somehow. Rojo brings up the Scavengers' creed, and if he has any issues he's free to take it up with the lady that can manipulate their weapons against them.
  • You All Look Familiar: He's a Glitch unit with a name.

  • The Dividual: They're deployed in squads of two.
  • Square Race, Round Class: One of the first non-collab characters to have two types. However, they can only use Soldier gear and Limit Break using Soldier APT cores.
  • Stealth Expert: They gain Stealth for 12 seconds on deployment.

  • Implacable Man: He's designed around dealing stuns and being immune to them.
  • Non-Standard Character Design: Uses a 3D model instead of a Live2D one.
  • Rock Beats Laser: His weapon is noted as being dangerous simply due to how the advancement of weaponry has left many of their targets uncertain on how to deal with someone who just runs up to them with a gigantic meat tenderizer.

The Demon Lords of Qliphoth and their Apostles (Unmarked spoilers below!)

    As a group
Maria: By the way, why do you call this crisis the Qliphoth Game? Considering it's a battle to decide the fate of the world, wouldn't invasion or war be a more appropriate term?
Lee Sooyeon: ...Because it is literally a game. If it were a war or invasion with both sides putting in their full effort, we would not be still around. We would have been wiped out a long time ago.
Maria: ...
Lee Sooyeon: There are rules in this battle. The conditions for victory and defeat have also been established. These are absolute guidelines that not even the Demon Lords of Qliphoth can violate. That is the reason why we have been able to make it this far.
Maria: Rules that even demon lords must obey? How interesting. Who decided these rules?
Lee Sooyeon: I'm also unclear about the details. However, the only person who knows the identity of this being described her like this. The first god to have been observed.
Maria: The first god, you say... That's an interesting description.

Playersnote  of the Qliphoth Game. Originating from the Qlipha Dimension, they plan to win the Game by either killing Mina ("The Girl") or appearing in the Normalside. The known Demon Lords are Asmodeus, Gha'agsheblah, Leviathan, Nehemoth, Serapel, Thagirion, and Tammiel.

"...So you still haven't given up, my love."
The leader of the Demon Lords, and the Game Master who authorizes a Demon Lord's request to begin a Qliphoth Game. She is not a Demon Lord herself; rather, she is a Demon God.
  • Affably Evil: She appears in Episode 10 while humming and wearing a smile brighter than the sun, then asks Mina if she is tired and wants to rest.
  • The Anti-God: She occupies this position in the Kabbalah, and she's the leader of the Demon Lords.
  • Big Bad: As the person who authorizes the Qliphoth Games, she's essentially the most direct source of the Counterside.
  • Darker and Edgier: Zigzagged.
  • Evil Counterpart:
  • Exhausted Eye Bags:
  • Expy: She has striking similarities to two spoiler characters from Arknights:
    • Theresa held a position of authority over her race, was able to silence crowds with her presence alone, and was killed by the Doctor; Tammiel holds authority over the Demon Lords, silences everyone with her presence alone, and is marked for death by the Administrator.
    • Priestess wears white clothes, has long brown hair, and has an ambiguously intimate relationship with the Doctor; Tammiel wears white clothes, has long brown hair, and has an ambiguously intimate relationship with the Administrator.
    • Both also have a Mysterious Past with the face-concealed Doctor, just as Tammiel has a mysterious past with the face-concealed Administrator.
  • Foe Romance Subtext: She calls the Administrator "my love" (which he doesn't rebuke), which implies an intimate relationship despite their explicit antagonism.
  • Identical Stranger: She looks like she could be related to Jia alongside Mina. Considering the common theme of wish-granting between Tammiel and fairies, it may or may not be Foreshadowing.
    • Interestingly, her appearance may have been foreshadowed in Episode 9.note
  • Orwellian Retcon: The name "Thaumiel" was shown in one of the PVs, but Episode 8 seems to have finalized it as "Tammiel".
  • Primal Fear: Her mere presence makes both enemy and ally alike stop fighting and tense up. Even Hilde is affected and left stuttering.
  • Strong Family Resemblance: She looks near-identical to Mina's Rearm version.
  • The Voice: Episode 8 ends with her response to Ray's request for a Qliphoth Game.
    Tammiel: I grant it.

Fallen Hawk

    Asmodeus

Rosaria le Friede

Voiced by: KR: Sae-ah Lee JP:
Type: Counter
Role: Ranger, Sniper (Awakened)
Rarity: SSR, ASSR
Subtitle: Asmodeus (Awakened)
"Hm, you want to hire me. This is a first. Well, you have the guts to choose me. I guess I can play with you for a while."
The imperious owner of the Fallen Hawk private investigation agency. Her true identity is Demon Lord Asmodeus.

She first appears in Episode 5, she's a minor antagonist in "End of the Maze", she's a supporting ally in "Fateful Summer", and she gains a bigger role from Episode 8 onwards.

  • Comedic Sociopathy: Her favorite shows are soap operas due to their continuous use of Love Triangle and Murder the Hypotenuse. It's even stated that her favorite season of The Bridge of Seduction is the one "widely popular for its immoral and controversial story".
  • Dynamic Entry: She resets her Special's cooldown upon being redeployed and briefly gains invincibility from her max-level Passive, meaning that she will almost always be able to use her Special when deployed.
  • Early-Bird Cameo: She shows up after Awakened Hilde defeats Replacer Queen, to confirm that Hilde's use of Qliphoth factors will begin a new Qliphoth Game.
  • Eldritch Abomination: She's Asmodeus, one of the Demon Lords of the Qliphoth Game.
  • Glass Cannon: Like most Air units, she has a pitiful health pool to compensate for not being attackable by a large part of the roster, but if left unchecked, her damage output is comparable to most Awakened damage-dealers.
  • I Have Many Names: In this form she is also known as "Tyrant of the North" and "Queen of Ashes".
  • Laughably Evil: She may be a Demon Lord, but she's also a complete couch potato that loves sitting around and watching soap operas and seems to think the world works like one (or at least wants it to work that way). Really, she often acts more like a spoiled teenager than an Eldritch Abomination.
  • Never Gets Fat: She keeps a slim figure despite sitting around doing nothing most of the time, thanks to demon magic.
  • Not-So-Harmless Villain: In Episode 10, she fights Hilde in her Asmodeus form, showing that she's stopped holding back.
  • Orcus on His Throne: Rosaria would much rather sit around and watch TV than get up to do things herself. As such she's one of the more passive Demon Lords, preferring to sit back and watch things unfold and occasionally taunt Hilde rather than actively manipulate events herself; to her, it's all a big show.
  • Slouch of Villainy: Her style of sitting. It fits her status as a Demon Lord. She even slouches idly when fighting, evidently not being bothered to put in more than bare minimum effort.
  • Smug Smiler: Her default expression is a very smug grin, befitting the arrogant Demon Lord she is.
  • Smug Super: She's one of the most powerful characters in the story, and she will make it known (at least when it's worth the effort).
  • Villainous Rescue: In Episode 8, she rescues Shiyoon after he sends his allies to safety and tries to fend off Hollow God Khamimael, mainly because she's looking forward to Mina's development in the upcoming Qliphoth Game.

An employee at the Fallen Hawk detective agency, he is Rosaria le Friede's caretaker and servant.

  • Hero Killer: He's implied to have dealt Lyudmila a mortal wound during the Administration Failure, which led to her becoming a Shadow at some point in the twenty years before "End of the Maze".
  • Professional Butt-Kisser: Nearly every sentence he says to Rosaria is some form of flattery.
  • Revolvers Are Just Better: Wields a pair of revolvers, and seems to quite like them.
"The revolver is such a nice tool. It never gets stuck no matter how many times you shoot it. It looks as elegant as a noblewoman. And most of all, it can persuade even the most uncooperative client into telling the truth."

ESPR

    Gha'agsheblah
One of the Demon Lords of the Qliphoth Game, it's a massive hivemind of ravenously hungry blobs of eyes and teeth. It is also known as the "Lake of Knowledge" as the object of interest for the ESPR. There are currently four known fragments that exist: one held under the Prydwen Institute at LAKE-4, Liona's sword Toto, one dwelling within Claudia, and Edel.
  • Eldritch Abomination: It's a mashing of eyes, teeth, and mouths that try to devour anything and anyone they come across.
    • A non-Counter gazing upon one of her Old Fear Tentacles can go mad without using visual filters.
    • Her actions and skills reference Hastur.
      • Her tentacles in the background of Rivet's Rearm and the appearance of her Fragments of Truth bring to mind Shub-Niggurath, and Eve Meitner's skills confirms it.
  • Fighting a Shadow: One of the stage description in Episode 9 describe her as such.
  • Hive Mind: It's described as such, but the fragments are not all attuned with each other. Edel struggles with trying to collect them all, as they are more than willing to devour each other to become whole.
  • In-Series Nickname: The Lake, the Lake of Knowledge, the Devourer, the Devourer of Knowledge, the Black Lake, Eye of the Moon, The All-Seeing Eye, The Translucent Lake of Blackness that looks down upon the sky, The Ever-hungry One, and many, many more.
  • Names to Run Away from Really Fast: The Prydwen Institution calls it the Devourer.
  • Possessing a Dead Body: In "Frozen Corridors", the CEO mentions that "Meitner" was the one who summoned Gha'agsheblah to the Normalside, and that he once knew the original Edel before Gha'agsheblah took her body.
  • Wham Episode: Edel drops a number of bombshells throughout "Frozen Corridors".
    • Her conversation with Regina implies that rather than being a traditional Demon Lord (an Antagonist from another world who defeated a Demon Lord), she is a literal Eldritch Abomination who consumed an Antagonist, became her, then defeated the previous Gha'agsheblah.
    • She posits that if Regina takes in "Him in the Gulf"note , she will be able to defeat Asmodeus, one of the most powerful Demon Lords. It's implied that not only are there many more like it out there, but also much more powerful ones, too.
  • White Sheep: Toto is the only known fragment with a distaste for people. Liona mentions feeding him dog treats and jerky, and in "My Wish Is..." he nonlethally defeats the Last Haven goons in the climax and happily enjoys french fries in the ending.

The Knights of Redemption

    As a group
  • Back from the Dead: Episode 10 reveals that Ray revived them after killing the previous Nehemoth and accepting his title.
  • Dwindling Party: Episode 10 shows each of them dying during Nehemoth's Qliphoth Game.
    • Lucrecia is the first to fall, mortally wounded by Altergressive Seo Yoon's Alternium Reactor-enhanced Mistleteinn.
    • Carlota is Killed Offscreen by Stormbringer Jake after she buys time for Clareth to retreath to Nehemoth.
    • Sir Allen's stalemate against Esterosa is broken by Kresnik Lyudmila grabbing hold of his neck from afar and snapping it.
    • Clareth is Killed Offscreen after Arhat Shiyoon exerts lingering control over the Dragon Blood in Dragonsword Largo.
    • Finally, Nehemoth himself is mortally wounded by Six Wings Na Yubin stabbing his hand through Nehemoth's chest.
  • Really 700 Years Old: The world of Arcadena fell to the Counterside long ago, and the Knights have lived long enough to witness an unspecified number of Qliphoth Games. The reason they retain their youth is that they've given up their humanity.

  • BFS: His Exclusive Equipment is Dragonsword Largo. It can absorb the Dragon Blood that curses its living possessors because according to Clareth it is "without Kleshas, suffering, or even a corruptible mind", implying it's sentient.
  • The Evil Prince: A general Jerkass to everyone, and also attempting to spearhead the Qliphoth Game.
  • Gathering Steam: Gains stackable ATK buffs as he attacks which are consumed after he uses his Ultimate.
  • Hidden Depths: Despite his absolutely terrible social skills and general unkindness to everyone, he wants Carlota to think about what she truly wants over her vow/indoctrination of clearing her family's name.
  • Jerkass to One: If there's anyone he despises the most and is the most irritated by, it's Lucrecia. It's because she was the reason he lost the Savior title to Ray.
  • Killed Off for Real: He is killed in his duel with Shiyoon in Episode 10.
  • Promoted to Playable: He made his playable debut as a Counter Pass unit alongside the release of Episode 9.
  • Shut Up, Kirk!: Doubles as a Badass Boast when Hilde suggests he leaves as he's surrounded by her, Mina, Shiyoon, and Na Yubin at the end of Episode 7.
Hilde: There's four of us here. Do you really think you stand a chance?
Clareth: I've always desired to test my mettle against thee. Given how rusty thou hast grown, I suppose that will suffice as a handicap.

  • Ancestral Weapon: Her sword, the Sapphire Prison, was passed down her family. It's also the source of her family's brainwashing curse on her.
  • Jeanne d'Archétype: Blonde? Carries a flag? Skills support allies? Check, check, and check. That said, her full name implies she's of Spanish descent rather than French.
  • Killed Off for Real: She is fried to death in Episode 10 fighting against Jake. How shocking.
  • Overly Long Name: Her full name is Carlota Ramirez Fernandes Carlos Juan the Third.
  • Ship Tease: Her feelings for Clareth are implied to be more than gratitude: her School Life skin mentions that most of her collection of seized books are rumored to feature a crown prince as the protagonist, and in Episode 10 she is reluctant to let Clareth intercept Mina, Hilde, and Shiyoon from reaching Ray since Clareth might not survive against them. Jake even teases her about "saying farewell to [her] beloved Mr. Handsome" before their fight, which provokes her.

The Original Puppet sought by Harab. She was sealed away by Yuna's grandmother.

She is a main antagonist in "Great Witch's Legacy" and a major antagonist in Episode 9.

  • Asian Fox Spirit: Her Halloween costume.
  • Be Careful What You Wish For: Her bio tells the story of a woman who was loved by all and became incredibly spoiled, such that she asked for more and more to be satisfied. The people eventually became so irate at her demands that they punished her, and she realized she gained satisfaction from feeling pain and being hated to death.
  • Chained by Fashion: She has chains all over herself, including some nailed into her wings.
  • Combat Sadomasochist: Her biggest desire is to have pain inflicted on herself, but she is also a Demon Lord who will bring about the end of the world.
  • Gameplay and Story Integration: Her masochism is so strong that she naturally has 0 Evasion, to reflect her taking full damage from enemies.
  • Heal Thyself: At Skill Level 5, her Special heals 30% of her max HP.
  • Limit Break: Lacrimosa
  • Too Kinky to Torture: She thinks only about the pain that can be inflicted on her. One of the reasons she leaves Yuna alive in "Great Witch's Legacy" is to let Yuna become strong enough to injure her. Lampshaded by Evelyn in the event's epilogue:
Evelyn: "...there is something new we could learn."
    Laura: "What's that?"
Evelyn: "That the formidable Original Puppet is just a perverted masochist."

"Hah hah. Here's another bad master who wants to be punished."
The ringleader of the Cronenworth Puppet Troupe. In actuality, she's seeking the Original Puppet in order to fulfill her duty as a Master.

She is a major antagonist in "Great Witch's Legacy".

  • Artificial Human: She was made by Serapel specifically to inflict pain.
  • The Baroness: Very much the dominant one with her puppets. Serapel created her that way on purpose.
  • Crippling Overspecialization: Her main advantage is being able to inflict Confusion on summoned units and low-cost units in the Gauntlet, letting her wreak havoc against Soldier-based Gauntlet teams in particular. Against everything else, though, she might as well not have a Special.
  • Dressed Like a Dominatrix: Her clothing choice is essentially a mix of BDSM gear with a little bit of Putting on the Reich.
  • People Puppets: What her puppets are.
  • Small Role, Big Impact: "Frozen Corridors" reveals that her draining of Regina's vitality in "Great Witch's Legacy" put Regina on the brink of death, and Edel sacrificed 666 members of the Estate in order to revive her.
  • The Unfought: Despite being the instigator of the conflict in "Great Witch's Legacy", the Strega witches never actually get to fight her; instead, Edel shows up in Gha'agsheblah form and vaporizes her for daring to hurt Regina.
  • Villain with Good Publicity: As her secrets to creating puppets aren't public knowledge, Harab's troupe has many admirers In-Universe.
  • Whip of Dominance: She's the sadistic whip-wielding ringleader of a puppet troupe, using her whip not only as her primary weapon but also as the tool for turning people into puppets and controlling them. Her outfit is a mix BDSM gear with a little bit of Putting on the Reich to hammer in her authoritarian and subjugation motif. Her dialogue often has her talking about having others submit to her and become her playthings, and she shows a lot of sadistic excitement about getting to use her whip, to point the animation of her Limit Break has her licking her whip before attacking.
  • You All Look Familiar: In "Witch's Wedding", a combination of Laura and Evelyn's spells on one of Laura's wedding dresses creates a construct of Laura's interpretation of an honest bride, and it has the appearance of Harab's wedding skin. The epilogue reveals that Serapel was actually watching them from afar through the construct.
  • You Have Outlived Your Usefulness: After unleashing Serapel, Harab tries to drain the enslaved Regina completely to feed her power to Serapel. Given that Regina is friends with a Demon Lord, this turns out to be a horrible mistake as Edel promptly shows up and smites her.

Elysion

    Thagirion

Audra

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/60110_1776341686.png
A Demon Lord from the world of Elysion, her servants include Sollicitatio, Nervier, and Ministra.
  • Adaptational Early Appearance: In the Global server, her first onscreen appearance is in Act 2 of "Yoo Mina's Bizarre Adventure", ahead of Episode 11.
  • Alternate Self: "Goodbye Tanaberin" reveals that she is Elysion's version of Dash, as Dash's portrait is used when she discovers her sister's brain.
  • Author Appeal: In-universe, all of her servants being Palette Swaps of each other is heavily implied to be intentional, as shown in the flashbacks of Mors during "Carnival": the current Thagirion used to be a "pagan child" who took down the previous Thagirion with the help of Mors, unaware that her sister died to Nequitia's experiments with Mental Printing. When Mors found out, she hid the truth from the child, as both Nequitia and her Mental Printing were needed to save Elysion from the Qliphoth Game it was in. Sollicitatio, Nervier, and Ministra are thus implied to be based on Thagirion's sister.
  • The Bad Guy Wins: She basically gets what she wanted at the end of "Bottom of the Shade" by making Rita into Ministra.
  • Despair Event Horizon: The sight of her sister's brain after searching for her for so long broke Audra, and ever since she's hated Elysion for taking her sister from her.
  • Dub Name Change: Her name was spelled "Aldra" in the SEA server.
  • The Ghost: She has yet to be seen but is frequently mentioned by her servants. Coffin-6 is keeping her from appearing in the Normalside.
  • God Save Us from the Queen!: "Carnival" reveals that she's the highest authority of Elysion, a world that eventually succumbed to the Counterside after it defeated the previous Thagirion.
  • Orwellian Retcon: Sollicitatio called Thagirion "king" in previous events, but a silent update changed all mentions to "queen" instead.
  • Snow Means Death: In Episode 11, the C.O. that the protagonists capture mention a "grave of endless snow", which is the location of Thagirion's Ark in Lotus. The Ark being compromised is later mentioned to have put the Normalside in a global snowstorm.
  • The Unfettered: Unlike the other Demon Lords that are holding back for one reason or another, Thagiron is fully committed to destroying the Normalside.
  • Unseen No More: She finally makes an onscreen appearance in Episode 11.

    Sollicitatio
Initially a rotating boss in Danger Close, she is revealed to be an Apostle of Thagirion who has evolved from being a C.O. or Shadow and is now an immortal entity.

She is a major antagonist in both "End of the Maze" and "Bottom of the Shade".

    Nervier
Initially a rotating boss in Danger Close, she is a Shadow from the hyperdepths of the Counterside and an Apostle of Thagirion.

Former Demon Lords

    Leviathan
A Demon Lord who was originally a massive beast. Her consciousness was torn in two by Asmodeus, with her reason becoming Levia Thanis and her instinct becoming the spirit inside Orca's Watch.

She first appears in Episode 9.5.

  • Attack of the 50-Foot Whatever: She's a beast so massive that only her eye can be seen through the Grand Dimension Crevice.
  • Names to Run Away from Really Fast: She's known as the Predator.
  • Odd Name Out: Unlike the others, Leviathan isn't a part of the Qliphoth. This makes sense because according to Sysop, she's a former Demon Lord after her throne was "taken away" by Asmodeus, a fellow Demon Lord.
  • Primal Fear: The very presence of her main body near the Grand Dimension Crevice causes everyone in Ground One to seize up and feel their hearts racing a mile a minute.
  • Villain: Exit, Stage Left: At the end of Episode 9.5, it's mentioned that she left after Yuri and Yumi helped Orca force Levia through the Grand Dimension Crevice.

"[...] the rules of the world are far more biased than you can imagine."
A Demon Lord whose presence doomed the world of Arcadena. After wiping out the Knights of Redemption, he was slain by the Savior of Arcadena.

He appears in Episode 10.

  • Cruel to Be Kind: When the Savior asked him why he wiped out the Knights of Redemption if he wanted the Savior to kill him in the end, he mentioned that Arcadena "is bound to be destroyed" even if the Savior had killed him from the first possible chance. This implies that he went through the trouble of dooming Arcadena to lessen the potential blame the Savior would receive as the next Nehemoth.
  • Death Seeker: By the time he crossed blades with the Savior, he had long given up on living.
  • Necromancer: He told the Savior that becoming the next Nehemoth would allow him to revive his slain comrades. This seems exclusive to Nehemoth's title, as none of the other Demon Lords have yet to demonstrate this ability. It's implied that Nehemoth's allies were the only ones he specifically revived as his Apostles, and Lucrecia's Staff of Resurrection was what revived the rest of their country.
  • Posthumous Character: He was killed by the Savior.
